Review Deepee Restaurant - Agra

We wanted to dine-in and spend few hours so we googled out the restaurants and found this place. The restaurant is elevated and they have a nice transperent lift for it. entrance is very nice with gatekeeper welcoming you. Restaurant has warmly atmosphere with dim yellow light. Its a pure vegetarian restaurant. Though they serve many cousine but south indian dishes are their core. Prices are higher than the market price may be about 1.5x or 2x times. Idli was good served with 2portion of white chutney, one portion of sambhar, small container of pure ghee and gun powder. Just Amazing Presentation. Cream of Tomato soup was okayish. I felt the milk based ingredient proportion was bit higher in it. But may be it was needed to make cream flavour. It was served with two large bread sticks and butter. The best decision we made was to have their Paneer ki sabji with Laccha parota meal. In the entire menu that was something which justified the price and quantity. Overall good place to visit once but you have to make ordering decision wisely. Dosa here are too expensive and portion/quantity is okayish. Since I spent good time at this restaurant, I strongly wish to point out with my observation that the new Manager (Jav bir/Om bir) is good for customers but very harsh on the restaurant staff. He is like a live wire on the field. Only scolding the staff each time they crossover. The staff and middle level representative are polite and sincere in their work, Mr. JayVir/Ombir, please be gentle with them otherwise it will be a bad sign for resturant.

Deepee / Dasaprakash's South Indian platter offers a tantalizing array of dishes, with an array of flavors that are undeniably authentic. The platter may seem costly 468₹, especially considering they only give plain dosa. However, it's worth noting that they didn't include medu vada, which might have been a nice addition. If you plan to visit in the morning before 11 AM, you'll find that their prices are more budget-friendly like 325₹, making it a great deal for an authentic South Indian culinary experience.

We accidentaly landed to this restaurant based on google search for the South Indian Restaurant. I must say we were not disappointed with the decision. We primarily ordered south Indian dishes which includes Uthapam, Dosa, Idly, Vada and every single dish surprised us positively with the unique taste. All the dishes were preapred in desi ghee and unlimited sides (sambhar, tomato chutney - amazing, nariyal chutney) were offered during the meal. Food: The quality of the food was superb and extremly good. Very few restaurants have surprised me with amazing quality of food and this is one of them.We primarily ordered south Indian dishes which includes Uthapam, Dosa, Idly, Vada and every single dish surprised us positively with the unique taste. All the dishes were preapred in desi ghee and unlimited sides (sambhar, tomato chutney - amazing, nariyal chutney) were offered during the meal. Service: It was top notch. The manager ensured that the items were delivered sequentially , on time. The staff was very polite and humble. Ambience: Had a good ambience for a family restaurant and had a positive vibe. Highly recommended if you are in Agra and creave for south Indian Food. PS: We did not try north Indian meals so I cannot commnet about it.

We always have a great time eating here. We were attended by Mr Om Veer hotel manager and Mr KK our server. They were very courteous and warm. The service was exceptional just as much as the food. Deeper never disappoints us.

Our favorite restaurant in Agra. The owner or main person is super nice and friendly. They were great with vegan and gluten free options. We had their dosa which was amazing. The gobi Manchurian was one of the best I’ve ever had. Their side dishes are super tasty. We came here a few times the food was so good but we’re too hungry to take more photos 😅

Good food! I am coeliac (gluten free) and the staff were able to find safe food to give me and adapt things from the menu, so good if you have any requirements. Having been to S India previously, the south Indian food on offer is authentic and how i remember! Omwer is very helpful. Restaurant is also very clean!

Amazing restuarant. Great food, reasonable cost, friendly staff. Been there 7 years ago and nothing has changed the quality is still top notch. Any dish can be ordered and you are bound to be happy. Parking available. Their signature desert sundae was out of the world a dish on its own - colabry

Being a south Indian Fan this Place is very close to my heart ❤️ They serve really fresh South Indian Food. My Fav is Onion Rava Dosai, and Mysore Dosai from this place! Masala Dosa is good too. We always start with the Chilly Cheese amazing starters and Dahi Vada with Appe. They are just Fabulous from this Place
Mehek
If you’ll go there their dosa is best! They give different flavour in aloo masala and cook their dosa in desi ghee! Though its bit expensive as dosa would cost above 250/- but one can go for it!

The south Indian food of dasaprakash restaurant is really admirable and tasty. I think in agra no one can find more yummy food from here to other places. I visited here with my mummy. Because she likes south Indian food. She also admired about the food and said whenever we got a next chance definitely we will visit here.

Good place for authentic South Indian food🍛 Prices are bit high and the quantity of food served was comparatively less (you can see in the pictures).<br/><br/>One Mini thali is not enough for a single person.

U all have not delivered the soup and cancelled it and asking for its double amount for nothing we ordered shame on u guys why should i give

Good place for South Indian cuisine. However they have started serving the North Indian as well as popular dishes too. But the consistency of taste is Thier forte...

Food is not so tasty as prices as compair to other food chains like beka.... wala <br/>They serve seperatly masala and dosa and portion size is not wort it is small <br/>

It can be much better as the taste was same but the quality need improvement.. hope the staff fix it all . Earlier the taste was so damn good but now it’s being little different but not so bad !

The staff is uptight. They are just an overpriced shity place with average food. Why does this place even exist???????? The staff is really the dumbest batch of people i hv ever seen

One place that has not compromised with its quality and hygiene.<br/>The place looks pretty clean and maintained well.<br/>The food tastes really good and delightful.<br/>I love the Mysore masala Dosa served with chutneys and sambhar.<br/>The mushroom sauté which is a curry served over a rice plate.<br/>It tastes pretty good, tangy and has the good Chinese flavour to it..
Shrusti Mohanty
The food isn't too bad, the dosa is what you should order if you're eating here, not the meals or other food. But the prices are ridiculous. For someone who's spend a good amount of time in South India, I think pricing a dosa at INR 225 criminally outrageous! It's not even as if the dish is made of ingredients that have to be sourced from mysore, which would atleast justify the cost. Avoid.
Shyam Awasthi
A good place offering good South Indian vegetarian dishes at an affordable price. I along with m friend  ordered the thali they provide. One thali for each was enough in quantity and had good options also
Ashutosh Tripathi
This restaurant is famous in agra so I went there with high expectations but was a little disappointed. Food was alright but a little bland. Had tomato soup which was excellent and rava dosa which was oily and below average. Ambiance I'll give 5 star and service too deserves the same but considering they pride themselves on their south indian they had less items to show for it. But would recommend to go their as one might find something different there.

Been to this place on the way to Agra,<br/>Ordered butter dosa, <br/>dosa order was late, served with aloo curry and chutneys.tastes ok.<br/>Prices are high and service is very slow.

Best place for vegetarians to dine. Few waiters are working their since the inception of DP in Agra. A organization this is good for it's staff is always best from customers.<br/><br/>I have so many good memories of this place.

One of the Best Dosas are served here in the Town<br/>I ordered Butter Masala Dosa and Vada <br/>Both are yummy <br/>If you like South Indian Food <br/>Then add this place into your check list

Dasaprakash all in all a good experience. We shared a mixed plate, where especially the vegetable curry was good while the bread, accoring to me, could be found better. However, still a really good experience.

Nice Place Food is good except South Indian , chilly paneer is awesome of this place. Also the chole bhature is of very good taste and yes deserts r also good

For years dasaprakash has served our city with good food. <br/>Being a pure non vegetarian, i really dont like going out to eat veg food ! <br/>But there is only one vegetarian restaurant that i can visit any day any time. <br/>The best part about their restaurant is that it has not changed its taste in all these years. <br/>People usually go there to eat south indian, but my personal favourite is continental . Let me list down the stuff that i like the most <br/>1. Lasagna - this dish is basically italian buy is served up indian style and it contains pasta sheets which divide every layer in the dish ,it contains 4 layers and that is cheese on the top , then white sauce which is so creamy, then a layers of spinach, then mixed vegetables mixed in red spicy sauce . <br/>2. Mushroom saute- if u are a mushroom lover then this dish is worth trying . The dish is served with rice and the center of rice is filled with mushrooms, onions and capsicum which are tossed in red sauce which kind of tastes like schezwan .<br/>3. Spicy corn on toast- this dish is served with toast topped with spicy corns tossed in red sauce accompanied with crispy potato chips .

Dosais, Appams, Rasam... you can't at one after coming to this restaurant. During early hours of the evening you will find the place the place less crowded and the whole dinning area is well set. Tomato soup another great thing to try here. One of the places to have Dosai in Agra. A must-try for every visitor.

Always a good place to settle your south indian food cravings in agra<br/>Everything tastes as it should with the dosas to rasams.<br/>I regular here would be a paper dosa .<br/>

Awesome Dosas, but pathetic service<br/>We had to wait for a long time, Had to ask the staff to switch on their air conditioner for about 4-5 times<br/>The Dosas were just amazing.... Little expensive though.. <br/>Waiters make faces and expect to be tipped a lot even for their poor service

This place deserves a 5/5 rating. Disappointed with The Mandarin I decided to go to Dasaprakash restaurant. It is an all south indian restaurant with lip smacking dishes. The food was so good that I ended up over eating. Do try butter dosa, it's amazing. The staff is humble and at customer's service. Overall a good experience.

I visited this place for a pre Diwali feast. Being the talk of the town, there was no special decorations of the biggest festival of North of India which was a little shock to me.<br/>This is just a south Indian restaurant with some additions of continental.<br/>The ambience is ok and not too good but also not bad. The servers didn't seem to concern about the table we were made to seat on. There were no napkins or cutlery. Though it was brought there in time but still not placed well. <br/>The place is costly. Like a normal dosa is of 200 something bucks which seems like high to me for a small city.<br/>The things I tasted were :<br/>**Mysore Masala Dosa**<br/>The masala potato filling was served seperately with sambhar and chutney with a big dosa crape with masala. The chutney was watery and the coconut and water was seperated. Everything else was delicious.<br/>**Onion Masala Dosa**<br/>This dosa was a nice one and a must order. It had a little net like dosa ...crisp to perfection.<br/>**Cheese Uttapam**<br/>Ok some things should not be mixed. This was a bizzare combination and I didn't like it at all. The burnt cheese was not at all complimenting the uttampam. The uttampam should be atleast not bland. It lacked flavour.<br/>**Lasagna with Bread**<br/>I literally regret ordering this. First of all they served white bread with it normally used at homes. Secondly the lasagna just had spinach and spring onions filling so much that it overpowered everything else. There was only a single lasagna sheet with extra of garlic and no oregano or italian flavours.<br/>**Chocolate Ring o Ring**<br/>This was a order to remove the aftertaste of the lasagna and it turned out really well. The sundae was topped with a big scoop of Chocolate over vanilla with chocolate fudge and nuts and cherries.<br/><br/>I really had a bad experience here though the ratings I read were fine. The dosas are good but way too costly but filling.

I have been going to this place since 2002. One thing that this place gets a 10/10 is for the constant and attractive decor and the quality and taste of food and service. (Thumbs up)<br/><br/>Though the cost factor is at the higher end, but it's OK once a while to spend 500Rs. On an authentic rawa dosa and Filter coffee :p<br/><br/>I have tasted & tried the entire South Indian variety (almost) Recently started trying the Continental variety there! Certainly it's a decent combination of the other continents and India.<br/><br/>Tried the Burmese spaghetti and the taste was appreciable nice. Quantity was a little lesser than expected. Wouldn't suffice a decent eater at all.<br/><br/>The vegetables au'gratin, macroni au'gratin, mushroom saute and vegetarian lasagna are as delicious too!<br/>The vegetables au'gratin is the best among all of above.<br/><br/>All in all this restaurant suits best for family treats. Not to forget this place is a little heaven for the south Indians residing in Agra (exclude the over hyped prices)<br/><br/>Cheers!! :)

A very good place (pure veg) to have lunch near the agra fort.FOOD<br/>The masala dosa was perfectly cooked. Crispy, golden brown and properly cooked. Three types of chutneys, masala on the side to keep the dosa crispy. <br/><br/>Tea was average and could have been better.<br/><br/>AMBIENCE<br/>Looks a bit cramped up due to the decorative pieces. They should get a modern look to make the restaurant more spacious.<br/><br/>SERVICE<br/>Prompt and courteous.<br/>

Went to this place for a quick lunch. Neither of us was really hungry, so ordered plain rice with rasam. The service was quick and the taste was also up to the mark. Only the quantity was a little less, hence had to order another bowl of rasam.<br/>They have this huge menu of ice cream sundaes which looked tempting but we couldn't try anything as we were completely full.

Many restaurants come and go but this is one of the oldest restaurants of Agra famous for authentic South Indian cuisine that remained awesome. I have been going there since I was a kid, so many happy memories attached to it. From the quality of food and to the presentation. From good hospitality to hygiene. Though the furniture and interior are so old and outdated considering the price we are paying for. It give me nostalgia. The servicing in their silver wears looks pleasing. There is no change in the menu since it has been opened though. The butter masala dosai and rawa masala dosai are the finest here. An Anglo-Indian dish Cheese Uttapam is something that I never ate anywhere but here. Italian lasagne is surprising nice in South Indian restaurant. Prices have been increased so much in recent years but they don't invest in renovation at all. Mant tourists and foreigners are seen in the evening enjoying this delicacy. Don't forget to do reservation on holidays or weekends as there is always a queue of families for the dinner here.

The fine dinning resturant . As per the standard and hospitality very better . The taste of food is very rich . Specially the dahivada. What we say know "life ka sabse best ya agra ka sabse best dahivada till yet". Dosa taste so good ,the crispness of dosa is that good you will eat it raw .
Prakhar
Poor service even without rush, very disappointed with everything ,no proper response despite complaining ,not upto the mark of dasaprakash ,taste and quality of food has also deteriorated.

Just visited the place. The service was terrible, place cramped, the seat we were given was situated below a dripping ac, above all the food was aweful. The menu was incomplete, half of the dishes were unavailable. The waiters seem uninterested in anything you say. They charged 100 rs for a fresh lime soda which was just lemon squeezed in a soda. PLAIN SODA. and above all when we complained about the services or the food, the manager ignored us as if we didn't exist. Waste of time. Waste of money. The whole experience of visiting taj mahal was ruined by just this one restaurant.
Love
As I make visit yesterday for lunch late hours near 4:15pm with someone. Feels very Good more & far better than other south Indian outlets. Will definitely visit when feels greedy to eat dosa ☺.

If there is any place which serves the best southi indian food outside south India is dasaprakash.<br/>You'll love their dosa and sambhar.<br/>Try their dahi valle and you would keep coming back to this place .<br/>End your dinner with their banana split which is one of my favorites though I'm not at all a desert person.

After keeping this place in my wishlist for too long..finally got the timing right to visit Dasaprakash tonight and found it quite calming and peaceful to enjoy my favourite cuisine- "South Indian". We ordered one Spicy coriander dosai, one Mysore dosai and couple of butter dosai. Spicy corrainder dosai is really spicy, gonna need a lot of coconut chutney to gulp that one down ;) I was with my family and everyone enjoyed their food from Sambhar to Chutney and Dosai too. It was a treat for the tastebuds and service was top notch. Really good experience.

Unquestionably, Dasaprakash tops the list of being the number one restaurant when it comes to South Indian cuisine! My family has been visiting this chain ever since it commenced in the city. It is our go-to outlet whenever we have relatives visiting us or to celebrate any family occasion - never have we ever faced any dilemma concerning our order, hospitality, cleanliness or quality of the food. Full points on how the restaurant has stood up to its name over all these years, even today, when there are so many other food outlets functioning in the city. Well, as they say, Old is Gold - I guess no matter what, no other restaurant can match the sincerity that they offer!<br/><br/>I've literally chowed down almost every dish on their menu - Of course, the South Indian section is worth applauding because that is exactly what they are famous for, but my personal favorite pick is the Continental and Baked Speciality section where each and every dish is delightful and distinctive, specially Lasagne and Creamy Cauliflower! Even the Thali section - be it the Mini Thali, Snacks Thali or the special Dasaprakash Thali - each has its own authentic South Indian taste to offer that you must indulge into. The Dosas and Uttappam are worth trying - not only are they delicious but they are also non-greasy! <br/><br/>On the whole, every dish on the menu is satisfying and divine. Even the frozen treat section is a feast in itself - a special mention to my favorite - Chocolate Ring-A-Ring and Gold Rush. For a lighter option, go for their Filter coffee!

The food was decent but the service was not good. They refused to pack our leftover food and when I insisted they said we will give you a foil and you can pack it yourself. But eventually after a lot of argument they agreed and packed it. But this whole incident just spoiled our mood even after a good meal.

I have given 4.5 to this place just for the dosa. I am a big dosa lover and this place satisfy my hunger for sambhar and chutneys. The service is good and staff is also dedicated towards the service.

Over hyped and over priced...quality of food was bad...poor services by staff...doesn't give u a feel of authentic south Indian restaurant... Chinese ordered was stale...over all will never recommended ny1 going for south Indian food in agra

Heard a lot from friends & relatives about this place and finally got a chance to drop in. Many of the tables were occupied by foreign guests. The ambience was okayish.. The food was awesome but the prices were exorbitant. A lot of walk-in by foreign customers could be one of the reason. Overall, good food but not at all vfm.

Many dishes in the menu were unavailable. It was little frustrating considering they have limited menu. Please improve the availability......

Great quality, hygienic and tasty South Indian food. The menu offers a wide variety of options. The restaurant is situated in the middle of a small market and with an inconspicuous front - but not at all difficult to find if you use Maps. Located 2-3 km from Agra Fort, making it convenient for a post-visit lunch.

INSECT FOUND IN THEIR FOOD...<br/><br/>Ewww. The worst nightmare you could imagine while dining happened to us :(<br/><br/>Dead insect found within the sweet "halwa" in their south Indian Thali. When I informed the waiter regarding the issue and asked him to call manager, he apologized but didn't call manager. After lot of prodding, a guy came who looked more like some senior waiter (he was wearing same dress as other waiters but with a shabby tie) but still the manager didn't come.<br/><br/>My only problem is that I don't like creating a scene, but on hindsight I should have. They exchanged the sweet, but not sure if it was from the same preparation (usually eateries prepare sweets in bulk). Plus they gave some discount as well to cover up their tracks. <br/><br/>However, I am trying to create a scene now via social media. PLEASE AVOID THIS PLACE (INFACT ENTIRE DASAPRAKASH CHAIN AS THEY HAVE MORE OUTLETS) LIKE PLAGUE, though it's quite popular in Agra. The biggest issue is not the insect thing but how the staff handles the crisis.<br/><br/>Khushboo Chawla

Dasaprakash known for its South Indian cuisine this place stands by its quality for food and service. Rava masala dosa, masala dosa and mysore masala dosa all the dosa's were excellent in taste, the best part is the unlimited Sambhar, masala and chutneys which they keep serving you at regular intervals. After a wholesome meal I thoroughly enjoyed a cup of filter coffee. Onkar Singh

Located in Tajganj, the hotel cum restaurant is a 5 to 15 min auto ride from the Agra Fort, depending on the congestion on the road. It serves vegetarian food only and mainly South Indian cuisine. The place is clean and service courteous. We had Butter Dosa and Curd Rice with pickle. I wanted to have Upma as well but it wasn't available. Washrooms were clean enough. Dasaprakash has made a name for itself among localites as well as travellers with its outstanding southern and continental specialities.<br/>Snack to your heart's content here with South Indian favourites like Dosa, Uttapam and Idly - all served with coconut chutney and Sambar.<br/>The Dahi Vada prepared with sweet curd and topped with bundi is one of the best Dahi Vada's in town. <br/>This veg only, no alcohol place is also famous for its excellent shakes and ice creams - do try the Death by Chocolate.<br/>All the dishes are fresh and carefully prepared to maintain the authenticity. Service is prompt and staffs are courteous. <br/>Would definitely like to go back soon to try their continental fare. <br/>

Dasaprakash serves both South Indian ad well as continental cuisine.<br/><br/>We ordered<br/>Onion Rava Masala<br/>Plain Dosa<br/>Lasagne<br/>Utpam<br/>Sundae<br/><br/>The dosa and Rava Masala were crispy and flavourful while the Utpam was tasting good (different than from what u get in Delhibut better).<br/>I am not a continental food guy but the Lasagne tasted good to me.<br/><br/>While the food is good the hygiene level and service is just the opposite.<br/><br/>The service staff were wearing dirty uniforms while the utensils were also not clean.<br/>The chutney was overflowing when served land the staff was least bothered after they serve the food to ascertain if we need anything else.<br/><br/>Very strange that that it was around 10:30 and the staff already in a packup mode.<br/><br/>Food : 4/5 (better than expected)<br/>Ambience 3/5<br/>Service 0/5(Horrible)<br/>Cleanliness 1/5<br/>

I belong to Agra and have heard lots of good things about this place from all the people we talk to.<br/>Yesterday was my first visit to this restaurant and me being a very avid foodie wanted to check out the place ...I cancelled pind balluchi and pinch of spice for dasaprakash<br/><br/>below are my reviews<br/><br/>food<br/>- soup : we ordered hot n sour and cream of tomato .....hot and sour was very much spicy and difficult to gulp down ....they provided 3 small bread sticks and three small butter cubes which was very less for 4 (1/2) soup bowls ordered....any ways when we requested them to refill the sticks, butter it took them 12-15 min to bring us the bread stick and by that time we were already down with the soup and most stupid thing was that they billed us for extra sticks and butter which is provided complementary in most of the good restaurants <br/><br/>-starter Cheese balls: cheese was very less ...generally cheese balls inside are filed with cheese only here it was filled with more vegetables and very less cheese.....disappointed <br/><br/>-South Indian food like dosas sambhar chutney etc were very average tasting..you can find much better stuff in other restaurant like Lakshmi Vilas .. hot rice idli and mendu wadas were good.<br/><br/>-dessert sundae: I would rate the sundae 3 on 10 as it was full of bananas while strawberry and pineapple were completely missing which were mentioned in the contents of sundae<br/><br/>Service levels <br/><br/>- super slow service: soup took 15-20 min... As a matter of fact soups should be served within 10 min since they are not cooked to order .....<br/>whenever we asked for refill of chutney and sambhar the waiter took 5 min for sambhar and 10 min for chutney ....sambhar and chutneys should be readily served w/o even asking but very much disappointed with such slow service specially when only 7-8 tables were occupied which was approx 50% of total capacity .<br/><br/>- non courteous staff: In total we were 4 people plus my 4 months baby. Within 5 min of occupying the seats we realized that we may need a table for 5 so that baby can sleep while we were dining we asked for a table in the centre of restaurant where 6-7 people can sit to which the captain replied its Saturday and they are expecting bigger groups to Visit hence can't allot bigger tables and trust me those out of 5 of those tables only 1-2 were occupied by the time we left the restaurant ...this is grossly non courteous behavior and looks like that they are in trading industry not in hospitality.<br/><br/>Cost: the bill was 2200 inr for 4 dosas, 1 plate idly , 1 plate mendu vada, one dessert sundae, one plate cheese balls, two full soups ...while this may seem OK for most zomato metro users but guys this place is in Agra ( tier 3 city) and actually very costly as compared to Agra standard...last week I went to Pind Balluchi in rajouri garden delhi and bill was 1500 for 4 people...<br/><br/>dasaprakash I would say that was expensive by almost 50%.....<br/><br/>anyways cost doesn't matter when you take out your family on dinner but service levels and taste does matter <br/><br/>In a nutshell Guys pls don't visit this place expecting very great food experience and high class service levels .....its poor place to dine

To start with South Indian is the only cuisine I can have day in and night out and umpteen number of times without getting bored. <br/><br/>Dasaprakash is a well know south India chain of resturant which everyone is aware, but I have never had a better experience than this one that's located in the Mehar cinema complex. It's just magical and the taste remains the same since it opened some 20 years back. <br/><br/>One just can't go wrong if they are having dosa, idili, Utpam, dhai vada, etc. They are all top notch. Other than South Indian they do serve some conti dishes which are also quite good, like corn bake, au gratin, lasagne. Also to top it all they have a vast menu of Icecream Sundays which are also quite tempting. <br/><br/>All in all its one of my favourite and the best South Indian resturant in this part of the country.

After a fantastic but tiresome visit to the Taj and Red Fort, me and my friends were feeling wolf-ish with hunger. I Zomato-ed places around to eat, and this one caught my eye for I am a huge fan of the South Indian cuisine.<br/><br/>When we got here, the restaurant was surprisingly thinly populated which worked in our favour as we did not have to wait for a table. Our order arrived quickly. The Onion Rawa Masala Dosa which I ordered was served to me in an unusual way. The Masala wasn't stuffed into the Dosa but was served on the side. I realized that this added to the convenience of having the Dosa. The Dosa was nicely done-- crispy and flavorful. My friends ordered Chhole Bhature and South Indian Thali. The Chhole Bhature were different from what I have been having in Punjab and Delhi-- but in a positive way. The Bhaturas weren't too oily, thankfully. The South Indian Thali was also delicious. The halwa was remarkable. Recommended.

Visited the place yesterday after seeing the excellent reviews. Were thoroughly disappointed. Unable to understand how the place is rated so highly. Service was very slow inspite of not being a big place. Biggest disappointment was the size of the servings as compared to the rates. I haven't seen such small servings at any other place. Even taste of the food was nothing to write home about. Spices, salt and pepper were all on higher side. Almost all patrons available during our visit seemed unsatisfied. Completely undeserving of the high ratings. Hope they look into the issues and improve their management

We group of 5 people from delhi for 2 days agra trip...i have checked zomato & seen this restaurent best for south indian...but i really got bad experince with them..<br/>We visited on 19 may around 10 pm ...after 15 minutes order was taken ...it was mention on the menu that minimum 25 minutes would be taken for order....but strangely they took 15 min to serve mineral water..another 45 minutes to serve idly...at 10.55 we have cancelled rest of the order .. They think there customers are fool , how come water take 15 min serving and idli 45 min...they all prepared early not required fresh cooking....<br/>But this is not enough then the bill came they charged ..... 55 for 15 rs mrp bottle + tax 20.6 with total come for 66.33 ......<br/>They are overpriced like 5 star please check there menu for that. 190 for dosa , 140 for idli..and seating they provide local tent chair for extra seating .....<br/>Please avoid this restaurent

This south Indian is something next level. All of my friends and outstation guests either from south or north India loves this place. Amazing food, taste different from south.

I have probably been here countless number of times. The last being on the 11th of April at a friends birthday. It being Navratras we were forced to go and eat vegetarian. <br/><br/>I generally don't fancy veg so the only time I come here is during Navratras it when the Mrs says. <br/><br/>Anyways the food is decent and ice creams are popular. Nothing out of this world. Just averagely good. <br/><br/>BUT and this is a big BUT. The decor sucks. The furniture is outdated. The menus look like they have come from a war zone. They were falling apart. Prices are expensive for a South Indian restaurant. Quantity is terrible. We were 8 people and paid a bill for 4000 rupees on a Monday. It was 11 pm and we were chatting and the staff started getting jittery and started to pack up and keeping the chairs on the tables which was a clear sign they wanted us out. Bad move. I would give them a ZERO for customer service. Not the staffs fault. I am sure they are paid miserably. <br/><br/>Anyways disappointing for a regular like me who has been going here for nearly 20 years. Not anymore though ! <br/><br/><br/><br/><br/><br/><br/>

It is understood that this restaurant is ranked at the top in southern cuisine genre , and my experience here was reassuring the same. Crisp dosas feather soft idlis ..lip smacking masala and chutney and uttapam that can even make Italian pizza lovers think twice. But I have a suggestion for people who live closer to bhagwan talkies area to consider udupi restaurant as it out ranks this restro in ambience and hygiene . The taste is also more or less the same so why burn 5 or 6 km worth of fuel and time...

Excellent food..cooked in pure amul butter. .amazing presentation as well..well mannered staff..the interior looks a bot dated though..cud do with a revamp of it..higly recommended are mysore dosa, rava onion dosa and Chana bhatura..

Great Food, Awesome Hospitality & Light on Pocket. Ordered Dasaprakash Thali, it was a good eat. Its 10 mins away from Taj and 5 Mins away from Fort (By Car/Auto).

They not only serve delicious and light on pocket (mostly South Indian) food but have marvelous hospitality. Had Daśaprakásh Thali and it was amazing.
Bhaskar Kanitkar
This is a nice place with good food and lovely ambience. I will recommend this place to my friends and family. Food qual4 is amazing and the service is also good. I loved this place

Everything on the menu is super tasty and when I say that, I do mean it... Be it the south indian food, the conti one, the indian thali or the desserts...
Sonali Mahajan Garg
The place to have awesome ice cream sundaes. Their gold rush sundaes and chocolate ring a ding sundaes are a must have for all ice cream lovers. The food is authentic south Indian. The preparation is good and the service is quick

Well, for a very short stay in Agra (short enough that you don't even have time to see the Taj) choosing a South Indian joint over the lip smacking chat and sweets that Agra has to offer, takes guts. But Dasaprakash does justice to the efforts. Authentic south Indian food but with their own touch, much different than other chains serving south Indian cuisine. Rates are slightly higher though but the food is amazing. Do give it a try the next time you're in Agra.
Harveen Bedi
Very crisp dosas as they have a unique concept of serving the masala (aloo) part separately for all the dosas . This maintains the crispiness of the dosas . The spicy coriander dosa is very unique to them
Srihari Kapu
South thali was a bit nice here. Although I suggest you go a head with north food just because the taste was not upto the mark and you can go ahead with north.

The food was no good , only possitive of this place is the place itself. The prices are to high. Servis is bad. This was our the worst foodexperience ever
Khushboo Agarwal
This restaurant used to be my favourite at a time. Now they're compromising with quality and quantity both. Food tastes good but service is so slow that you might wanna order all the food at once. And they seriously need to realise that it's good to go with the flow when it comes to interior.
Baba Chatore
A very nice South Indian specialist restaurant.<br/>Service 4.5/5<br/>Ambiance 4/5<br/>Food 4.5/5<br/>A must try when in agra coz you hardly find such a good South Indian cuisine anywhere in town.<br/>A star in Agra's crown.

I was only in Agra four days, but this is my favorite restaurant there and the only one I felt was worth visiting a second time. Some of the wait staff are great and some are mediocre, but the food was good and the prices were reasonable.

Went for a short trip to Agra and visited the restaurant..Although the food Quality is good and taste is Delicious the quantity is less. So if you are hungry i would suggest better order two three things in advance. <br/><br/>HAPPY EATING :)

Had lunch today here...the service was quick n food was served hot....i liked the way dey serve sambar here....it was yumm too....dosa was nice and crispy... Now review proper :<br/><br/>PROS<br/>Authentic South Indian food<br/>Prompt service<br/>Tastes exactly same as you want it everytime anytime<br/>Clean and hygenic<br/><br/>CONS<br/>Slightly, very slightly tad bit expensive<br/>Washrooms not clean<br/>One steward came out of the kitchen, ruminating food
Nishant Sharma
They serve only South Indian food and Ice creams as dessert. After seeing it's rating, I went their for lunch, dosa and uttapam were tasty. Still I found this place rating over hyped as I have been to better places with lesser rating. They can surely improve their menu by adding a bit more starters and desserts.
Pragati Singh
One of the best places for south Indian cuisine..the aroma coming from the butter masala dosa will stay with you for a long time to come..I had a great experience here..excellent service and a beautiful ambience. When in Agra visit Taj Mahal and then head yourself to this amazing restaurant.

If you like south Indian food and if you are in Agra then dasaprakash is one stop place. Tried following items<br/>1) Butter dosa<br/>2) onion rava dosa<br/>3) mix veg uthapam with cheese <br/>4) Banana split <br/><br/>Ambiance: Ambiance is very good with good interiors and lighting.<br/><br/>Taste: Now the main thing<br/>Butter dosa: I didn't liked it much, small in size with not so good in taste.<br/><br/>onion rava dosa: This I liked it, although I don't prefer rava dosa but this has different and good taste.<br/><br/>Mix veg uthapam with cheese: You can also call it uthapam pizza. With distinguished taste. <br/><br/>Banana split: Awesome ice cream recommended.<br/><br/>Value for money: As quality comes with price so its expensive worth a visit <br/><br/>Service: Very prompt and quick.<br/><br/>Must visit if you are in Agra.

While in Agra, my parents were hoping to have South Indian meal, our cab driver suggested Dasaprakash. Good suggestion, driver!<br/><br/>Dasaprakash group of hotels, is in existence for over 2 decades and serves authentic South Indian vegetarian cuisine.<br/><br/>The hotel was crowded even on a weekday, during off season. Looked like there is no offseason for the folks in Dasaprakash. My parents ordered meals and I ate Masala Dosa. Masala Dosa was crispy, topped with dollop of butter, served with yummy chutney. Just how I prefer it! Coffee tasted good.<br/><br/>The ambience was decent, staff was courteous and the food tasted great!

This is a must try. We know a plenty of great south indian restaurant in Delhi. I stayed in Agra almost an year.<br/><br/>Being a foodie I explore plenty of places. This was found very interestingly and located such that you won't realise something great is available. <br/><br/>Coming to the food...WOWWWWW is all I would say. Authentic preparation and I tried dosas, South Indian Thali, poori bhaji..I mean on my every visit I tried out Something new. <br/><br/>They are doing amazingly well, great food and ambience. Super tasty food and I would really recommend to try the dahi wada..it is floavoursome.<br/><br/>Now I stay in Delhi but whenever I am around I try to make it to Dasaprakash. Highly recommended..

The best place if you are looking for South Indian food in the city. Apart from dosas, uttapams and the typical south indian menu, it serves a few interesting dishes like lasagna, dahi vada and a north Indian thali. It's loaded with cheese lasagna is a must try. Do try the rawa dosa. It also has and interesting Sunday menu to choose from and each one is yum!<br/>P.s. there is mostly a huge waiting on weekends.

I have not experimented much here - its a south indian restaurant, how much can u actlly experiment .<br/>I like their onion masala uttapam . Uttapams r my fav n i try them where ever there is south indian menu , this place has some real good south indian food, don't like their filter coffee its rllly bad . <br/>U can also try their dosas ( butter masala, onion splly) poori sabzi too is decent . I don't like the ambience its like everyone in listening to u and is constantly tabbing u that kind, whch is weird . Rest u can give it a try once .

The only reason they don't get a perfect 5.0 from me is because their filter coffee had chicory in it and they served the masala filling, potato, as a separate semi-warm dish. Otherwise, the rava onion dosa was brilliant, the rava kesari was dripping in sweet glory and the service immaculate.<br/><br/>Parking is ample and easy, the toilets are clean, and the air-conditioning just right. Tables are very clean, crockery and cutlery and place settings are way above expected, and the prices are reasonable to the point of being in line with ordinary restaurants in Delhi or Mumbai.<br/><br/>You can forget that you are in Agra and think you are in Southern India. Actually, I enjoyed the meal and the whole experience a lot, so I will notch it up to 5 I think. Also, the red checked napkin was very clean and very well laundered and good on the eye.<br/><br/>Whimsical review but then that was a satisfying long lunch. Photo is of my friend's normal masala dosa.

It's was the 1st outlet of Agra and I think the best outlet with great interiors. The Chola Batura is a must try along with baked vegetables.

Best place in agra to get good south indian food. The service is good and the being an old property the staff is also well trained and over the year they have maintained the quality of food. The bonus item is the ice-cream sundaes, you wont expect good ice cream at a south indian restaurant.
Amit Bajaj
Had been to this place on my first visit to Agra, guys I must tell this is the best place to have good south indian food in the city. I had their thali and simply loved it.
Bhasuri Kona
I have been here in the evening. The ambience was good. The South Indian thali(mini meals) are very good when it's about quantity, quality. It's just like home made. Puri here with chole was nice too. Chole was over cooked but still it's tasted yumm. Finally, the lasagna. It was one of the best I have ever tasted. I wouldn't compare it with proper one as one in an Italian place. Buy it was worth trying
Kushagra Singhal
Awesome south Indian food with option of no onion as well. Ice creams and desserts are good as well. Personal favorite in agra. The dosa is better than what I ate in south India by far.
Soumya Anand
The only place in the city that offers quality south Indian dishes consistently (I've been told its been there since before I was born). You can never go wrong with a masala dosa here, though my favorites are rava onion dosa and cheese and onion uttapam. Their continental menu is also famous and so are the variety of ice cream sundaes available. A complete meal in every respect!

The best south indian food ever. Dasaprakash remind me of my chilhood days when every sunday our family used to go for lunch or dinner in delhi. The chain has discontinued here , eagerly waiting for it to reopen again. We probably ate here after 10 odd years found the taste ,cutliary, food just the same as before. Please consider opening it in delhi.

Dasaprakasha is a far less known chain of pure veg South Indian restaurants. I have been here a couple of times, and I haven't been once disappointed. Their dosa is delightfully crisp. The highlights of their menu are-<br/>The Rasam- definitely on of the best I have had. The spices are not pungent at all.<br/>The Thali- It has a lot of items in small quantities. The show stopper is the dahi-vada. So tender!<br/>The tomato soup- Clearly overpriced for a tomato soup, but once you have it, you'll know why! What flavours! You can taste such a mild coconut flavour with generous amounts of cream.<br/>
Shantanu Tandon
Most hopeless south indian food I have ever eaten. We ordered a tomato-onion uttapam, to which the server replied, "We don't use tomato as it sticks to the tawa." I don't get how that happens because tomato is used in south indian cuisine across India. Next, the mysore masala dosa was without the inner potato masala which was served separately. It became cold quickly and we were told that masala is always served separately. The dosa also had very little of its characteristic spicy layer. Rasam was ok. Not recommended. <br/>
Dr Ashwani Mehta
One of the very good South Indian restaurent in agra. Had the privilege of having lunch with the owner of the chain. He took care of the ordering and fed me lunch with a real South Indian feel. Very nice ambience and of course service was fantastic since the boss was present. Went there again alone too. Great sambhar and rawa dosa.
Anika Jindal
The best south Indian food is available here. Quite good space for sitting and good ambience.. You always have to wait for your number else ask them to reserve.

Visiting this place for last 3 years now. Don't find food here to be authentic and tasty - but the decor and ambiance is relaxing. Dosas are a bit overbilled and the menu focus is more on desserts.
