Review The Silk Route Restaurant - Agra

Chayan Biswas
Loved this restaurant in Agra. The ambience was soulful and the staffs were courteous and equal attentive to the foreigners and the desis equally ( unlike some other eating places in Agra where I felt this inequality ). The food was very much tasty indeed. And, yes... it's not a budget restaurant.

Very good restaurant in agra for Indian food they also served alcohol as well. Relevently clean price is lillte high but food and service is good their mutton biriyani and thali is highly recommended. Though it's situated at basement but atmosphere is pleasant.

Although we were taken there by our tour guide (always makes me suspicious), we had great lunch for a decent (although of course tourist oriented) price. Probably the best we had on our trip so far. While the interior could certainly be nicer, the food makes it worth a visit!

good food. little bit more expensive than most places

Delicious food, clean place Its recommended to visit this restaurant, you will enjoy.

Food quality nice a little overpriced

Excellent food! The staff needs to work on their service skills and not freeze up when a tourist arrives. Overall it's a great place to eat and I'd definitely recommend it.

Good food and no fuss. Only negative side is that prices don't include taxes nor service charges, which is common but annoying nonetheless. Also felt like your tour guide had some interest in bringing us here as he was quite insisting. The food was good in either case.

Great Northern Indian food. My wife and I shared a Chicken Tikka Masala, Dal Masala, Murgur Masala, and Garlic Naan, all of which were excellent. The dishes were spicy and savory, with a great depth of flavor. The service was quick and not overbearing. The decor was beautiful, with dark wood furnishings against light beige walls. Highly recommended; without a doubt some of the best food I tasted while visiting India.

Had lunch there as our guide took us there. Looked a bit deserted. I had the king thali, son had chicken korma hubby had nehari. Food was ok. They took a very long time to serve and only three tables were occupied.

Rating want to give 3.5
From outside it's not looking so good restaurant..so it's better to make some good arrangements to the outside to advertise this restaurant as from outside people or for tourist it's difficult to find out.
Now coming to inside part of the restaurant. Inside look is royal one.. decoration was very nice and waiter also is showing very good Courtesy..
In Food we ordered chicken tandoori, lime soda, tandoori roti and handi ghost.. service also prompt and nice.
Nice to visit there ..
On my visit to Agra, I was suggested this place by a local and it turned to be absolutely excellent. I had the Gosht Biriyani. It was extremely delicious. Succulent pieces of mutton in perfectly cooked rice with satisfying flavours. Though the price is a bit high, I think with the amount of biriyani they offer along with the taste, it's completely worth it. One plate is sufficient for two. Would love to visit again. The biriyani was so excellent, I didn't even need a side dish.

Everything about this place was just awesome.
Food was delicious without being too heavy on the pcoket.
Ordered for a veg thali....but the quantity was so much that one person just cant finish it off.
Also try the sweet lime soda....it goes down well with the food.
Friendly staff and provided quick service.

Bhardwaj Ria
I don't remember the dish I ordered but I do remember the taste which might bring me back to Agra from Bombay ... I was so right about this place I did see the ratings but still took the risk to dine in with my family and the risk was worth taking... As the majestic ambience don't want you to leave this place even when your tummy is full... a perfect mughal restaurant I must say...

I arrived at this place because of the recommendation from a few travel guides along with some of my foreign friends. The decor probably the only thing decent about this place. The Kadhai Paneer was the worst I have ever eaten in my whole life. And the food was not worth the bill that arrived. Definitely not a place I would recommend.

Suggested by the cab driver who was showing us Agra, this place turned out to be dissatisfactory. While we liked the spacious set up of the place, the food turned out to be below average. Chicken tikka was nothing but a bowl full of capsicum and onions with scanty chicken.
Chicken biryani seemed nothing but rice simply cooked with chicken added to them. Low score on presentation. We eventually had to ask the waiter to take it back. Sadly this place failed to fulfil our desire of having a good mughlai lunch in city of Agra :(

Taken here by our taxi driver after we asked him what the best places were to go. While he filled us with confidence that this place was exactly what we wanted, we now realize that we were only there so he could get his commission.
Biryani was horrible, it was on the menu as boneless but when it came out the meat was still all on bones. We asked the waiter about it but he said they don't do boneless meat despite what the menu said.
Price is also way to expensive for what you get. I'm sure it's expensive because they can guarantee the tourist quota from taxi drivers. Save your money and go somewhere else for better food at half the price.

A positive is that the food didn't make us sick, and the lassi was really good. Food wasn't bad besides the biryani, and one of us got the 'prince set vege meal' which was a lot of food and quite enjoyable.
Wouldn't go back.

Our taxi driver made sure to bring us to this restaurant. The food is average but very highly priced. It's meant for tourists and was very empty when we got in. If your taxi driver brings you here, know that it's just to suck as much money out of you as they can.

Average food. No ambience. And highly disappointed at the way these people treat tourists. All they see is a quick buck.

The most pathetic food I ever had in my life, A STRICT NO FOR ALL.
SERVICE IS POOR, FOOD QUALITY IS ALSO NOT UPTO THE MARK.
I SUGGEST THEM TO IMPROVE EVERYTHING

Horrible experience. They run only Cos of they have a deal with the taxi drivers. Kindly do not even bother going in and checking if taxi driver takes you there. Pls chk zomato n ask them for a different restaurant.

Bad ambience, late service and average food at exorbitant prices.

4 only for it's ambience and service , the food is just ok but the environment for having a pleasant dine in at n8 with the gazals playing at the background with a soft touch is a excellent combination. Needs to improve it's food quality as if you are a aunthenticate or genuine foodi then u will not have a second time here as the food is not of that authenticity.

Worst service i have ever seen. Do not visit this restaurant and waste your time. Restaurant was not crowded however we were not served ontime. Had to wait for an hour between meals to be served. Can find other restaurant better than this nearby taj mahal. I dont recomend this restaurant anymore. Very very poor service . Waste of time money and energy.

Came with a friend for lunch. Good service, fast enough. Food was worth it for the price. Environment was ok, very clean, AC and fan. Choice in the menu was good too. We recommend this for sure.

We visited as this place was a stone's throw away from our hotel.
Decor is decent. Food was nothing to complain about, but nothing to write home about either. It was quite expensive though, with small portions.

After a long trip from Delhi to Agra,we decided to have a fine dine,so we selected Silk route as our destination.

The first view of Restaurant gave us the feel that it is really upto the mark as recommended by the most, but we were all alone and the explanation to that was "its not a peak season". Finally we got settled at one corner and went through the menu. We ordered King Size thali considering the fact that it would be a royal treat in Mughlai style but on the contrary it was a regular thali which you would get in roadside dhaba.

We thought food would be incomparison to good restaurants who serves proper thali wid food variations. What we got was pathetic masoor dal with white butter on top(which the serving staff refered as Dal Makhani)...

Nothing was served in proper manner..

Tip- Avoid this place, there are so many places which provide better food at good price. :)
