Review Akshada - Ahmedabad

Diti Shah
Went to this place for a Sunday lunch. Situated right next to Secret Kitchen, the place gives off typical traditional feel. Additional points to the ambience they have created which gives off a heritage feel. We tried a number of items like : Mango - Haldi mocktail: The Keri Haldal Mocktail was a delight to taste buds. Totally right for the Chilly weather yet giving you the enjoyment of Mangos that we gujjus love. Khaman Chaas mocktail: A fusion of Chaas and bits of Khaman. Now who would have thought that!!? Not everyone would enjoy this but it was surely worth the try. Chaas : Traditional gujju meal is incomplete without this! It was a total 5/5 Bournvita: it was a different bournvita which makes you wish you have it every morning!! Lilva Kachori: A perfect dish. You just can't help yourself but pick up that extra kachori you really don't need! Palak Dhokla: A winter speciality, this one was garnished with bits of garlic. I personally would have enjoyed it more without the garlic but it surely was a very delightful dish. For the mains we had Undhiyu and Sev Tamata nu Shaak accompanied by Theplas, Puri and Tandoor Roti. I strongly recommend their theplas. We ordered Gulkand Jalebis, Malpua with Rabri and Sukhdi for the sweets. Jalebis were hands down the best of all closely followed by the Malpua. They prepare everything in desi ghee which enhances the taste. The experience of having Gujju food here is very different given that it is ala carte. A special mention to the staff who were quite attentive and well trained. The place is a hidden gem and next time you are in mood for some fusion yet authentic gujarati food, you know where to go!

An authentic Gujarati food restaurant is a pleasure to visit. I love the way they serve and their serving utensils are also different from any other restaurants. If you have doubts about food, then let me clear that the food is super delicious and taste like home.

Best place for Gujarati food. The typical mentallity of gujju food being sweet is broken here. The actual taste of food will be obtained here. The things which need to be spicy are spicy and the things which need to be sweet are sweet. This place has a unique ambience. The serving of food is also unique. The menu here is crafted on cloth. The unlimited dinner is served here in a tiffin( unique in itself). After the starters (farshan in Gujarati) mouth refreshments are served to clear the taste and you can have amazing taste of main course. Their menu keeps on rotating but all are famous Gujarati items like anjar no ghughro etc. Must visit place for all Gujarati food lovers. Unique ambience includes wall cravings which are almost 80-100 years old.

This is the perfect place to try authentic gujarati dishes. Very well prepared and serves very good portions of tasty dishes. Their special winter menu you definitely should try. Great ambiance and courteous staff this place truly has my heart.
Shreyash Borad
Best Gujarati Food in the Town. They serve Authentic Gujarati food just like home. They are having entire range of Gujarati food from each corner of the state ranging from Kutchh, Saurashtra to Surat & Baroda. Must try place to give your taste buds some Authentic Gujarati Cuisine feels.

Akshada- Been to this place on sunday with family. Not so typical gujarati restaurants that you visit. It is conceptually far different. Must visit for youngsters, aged, gujjus and non-gujjus.. i mean everyone should visit this restaurant. Gujarati food is usually sweet in taste right. But here the proportion of sweetness is just perfect. I would love to visit this place again.
Harikrushna Parmar

Feeling so good with non Typical Gujarati dish you can feel simply amazing.ambience also reminds us gujarati culture of 60-70 era...

The experience was very good. Authentic Gujarathi Thali with traditional local food and some stuff never really had. The Thali is all you can eat - no restrictions. I am not sure about the price since it was a treat. The service was good. The ambience is nice. The theme promotes privacy and is enough for groups. Overall fine dining experience

It's very nice place for having Gujarati food and it's give the real essence of Gujarati food and the quality of food is very nice and the service is also very nice and the place is very neat and clena.

One of the finest Gujarati food in Ahmedabad .
Queenie Spielvogel
A beautifully lit and had an authentic feel to the restaurant. The place was very clean. We were welcomed with a Paan drink which was refreshing in the heat of Ahmedabad. We were served a Gujarati thaali and there was plenty of variety. There was nothing that I could fault from the ambience, service and food.
Rahul Trivedi
One of the best place from my side. Best gujarati thali. Facility and support is also good.
CHIRAG SONI
One of the best Gujarati Thali available in Ahmedabad.

Awesome food , loved Gulkand Jalebi 😋

Liked the concept of serving to a table in a la carte style , so that you can have minimum disturbance while enjoying the food , which is a negative factor for all thali serving places.
Dhruv Bhatt
They have super rude staff. They don’t treat their guests well. They don’t let you take pictures of your family. What is the point when you can not celebrate with your family.
Arpita Shah
Everything was awesome starting from entry, seating, ambience, welcome drink, etc...
When started with farsan, I found everything reheated, dhokla was so hard that Noone expect to have like it.. Bhajiyas were also feeling cold, not fresh.. Main course was good, service with vessels handpicked by owner is really appreciated and was really appealing..
Gujarati thali, as people believe to b full with almost 8-10 small bowls and so many other things, thats not here but menu is really crafted in such a way that the thali is complete in all aspect and no more items are required in thali, that is the best part.

OH MY GOD!! What did jus happened?? Still trying to understand, this sure is not a gujarati thali, the whole fun of food being served by a guy in kamamdal, that lavish display of food!! Could not find anything!! Its was more copper and bronze then food here, the servers were ill mannered and shouting and blaming each other just next to the table. The pickle kind of thing ( never had any pickle like that) was stale. All could have been compensated with good tasty food, but disappointed big time again. No salt no taste just wierd names, still wondering why would a sarpanch eat a thotha like that? The only thing i liked was the chass. I rarely criticise with less ratings but this time i hd to. Sorry team akshada.

Wanted to try some good, authentic Gujarathi Thali. Read a lot of reviews of this place and decided to give it a go. We weren't disappointed at all! Starting with the decor which is quite rustic to the staff in very decent attire, this place is very welcoming. Dishes are served in high quality copper ware. As opposed to the 'standard' Gujarathi Thali restaurants that include a panneer dish or Chinese roll, this place serves 'pure' Gujarathi food. The kokum welcome drink was served in a unique cup with a built in straw. The Haandva was divine, with an awesome texture. Desserts in the form of dry fruit Basundi and puran puri were too good. Kachori was just perfectly done. Surti Undhiya was the highlight. Poori was much larger in size compared to other restaurants, the thepla and roti were just done right. Other dishes were of the same high quality. In fact, I found the food to be a bit too rich, with almost all dishes being made in pure ghee. Overall, an awesome experience.
Ratings:
Decor: 5
Service: 5
Food: 5
Shreyash Borad
Wonderful experience. Best Gujarati food in the town. They serve you entire portions of food on your table for unlimited thali option which adds cherry on the top. Must try place for Authentic Gujarati Cuisine.

Liked all items of Thursday menu....This fell under my all time favourite Gujarati restaurant.

Good morning friends. Went to a place yesterday. #Akshada. Strange Gujarati thali. They serve one piece each after a long wait and ask if you need another one? The Hospitality is thrown off window but the gem was , I asked for my undhiya to serve in katori. The waiter firmly denied. I got up, took katoris of another empty table and asked for service. He refused. I told him to leave and started serving my guest. Guest called for a senior staff. " main captain hu. Service mera kaam nahi hai." The so called captain stood even more stubborn in our face. We quietly paid and left. I seriously hope this message reaches to the owners. You can buy ratings but serving guests is only revenue earner. For the first time, I have published such a negative review. Think from a paying client perspective..how much they have put me off.

Akshada offers some of the finest traditional delicacies of Gujarat. The menu offers popular dishes from different cities across the state. It is a difficult task to make up one’s mind as to what should be tried as all the dishes look equally tempting. Here is what we tried

Lilva ni kachori - A must try in this season
Jalarambapa na green khaman - Loved the presentation and the taste was authentic
Akshada special undhiyu - You cannot miss this
Kutchi samosa lasaniya batata nu shak - A wierd combination that did not go well with me
Thepla/Roti - Hot and fresh
Gajar no halwo - Their finest dessert
Lily haldar no halwo - Experimental dish that might be liked by some

Overall the food quality and the taste was really good. The hospitality was quite impressive so visit this place if you haven’t yet.
Bearded Foody
The place is amazing if you are looking for a authentic gujarati food but with good quality and unique dining experience in ahmedabad. They served food very well and every dish had its own unique identity. Overall the experience was quite nice and they also take care of your entertainment by puppet show and horse show. Must visit with family

This place has turned up to my favourite place for Gujarati food in Ahmedabad. The mindset of having sweet Gujarati food is changed here. The original taste of each and every item is served. The food is best in taste and quality. I loved all the items served in unlimited dinner. Their menu is changed every 2-3 months so you can checkout their different varieties too. Their menu is crafted on cloth instead of paper. The place interior is very well built with wall cravings approximately 100years old. Their serving is also different. When you order unlimited dinner, the food is served in an amazing tiffin. Much visit place for all .

@akshadaofficial represents its winter menu.
Food is just brilliant. Gujrati food is something which reminds us of our childhood days if mad precise with those old styles and flavours! It alwats makes us feel nostalgic and reminds us of that particular place.
Akshada have came up with the same concept to bring out those hidden or lost flavours of gujrati dishes among us. They have got huge varities of menu reflecting those precise and particul dishes which are famous from different parts of Gujarat.

We tried a lot of dishes from their recently launched winter menu.

▪Lilva ni kachori (recommended)
▪Jamnagri gughra (recommended)
▪Haldi wala amm raas
▪Jalaram bapa na green khaman
▪Kathyawadi kichdi
▪Lasaniya batata nu sak
▪Unthiyu (recommended)
▪Bajri na rotla
▪Sev tameta nu sak
▪Gajar no halwo (recommended)
.
A must visit place with yoir family. They would deffinately love this place and the vibes.

Brain child of celebrity chef Aanal Kotak, Akshada is a fine dine restaurant that specialises in serving authentic Gujarati cuisine in Ahmedabad.

The ambience is designed to suit the traditional gujarati theme. All artifacts, wall paintings and lightings give you a feel of traditional Pol architecture. The soft gujarati music playing in background adds to the feel. The crockery too has been selected keeping in mind the same.
Unlike traditional all you can eat gujarati thalis , Akshada serves Ala carte. They also have a concept of tiffin, where in you get a variety of set dishes.

On the food front we tried :

Keri Haldar - One of the household remedies during summer, this one was a Mocktail made from mango and turmeric. Unique yet tasty combination to be enjoyed. 4/5

Lilva ni Kachori - Part of the winter delicacy, this one was really well cooked and tasty. 5/5

Traditional Undhiyu - A winter specialtu this one was perfectly cooked with all veggies properly boiled not mamy places in ahmedabad serve such an authentic version of Undhiyu. 5/5

Sev tamatar - Tangy and tasty tomato gravy well cooked. 4/5

Kutchi samosa lasaniya bataka - A unique combination of samosa, Alu and garlic In a curry form. This one is a must try specially for the garlic lovers. 4/5

Lila Chana nu shak - This one is a house hold curry, generally prepared during winters. Taste was really good and as you would expect. 4/5

Gajar no Halwo - The name itself inclined us to try this one. 4/5

Haldar no shiro - Unorthodox sweet, mainly prepared during winters. This one did not go to well on the taste front but surely something exceptional to try. 3/5

The service and presentation of each dish was spot on. Overall this place surely turned out to be an hidden gem. Surely one of those places where one can have delicious gujarati food at peace

I'm a Gujarati and so I tend not to eat Gujarati food outside, cause I believe all of it is cooked at home.
So I don't spend money to eat it outside.

But when I went to Akshada, I realized that Ghar jevu saras and shudhh khavanu baar male.
I loved the khichdi, undhiyu and dhokla.
The kala khatta palette cleanser and gajar no halvo was fantastic
Thepla and lili haldal nu halvo were slightly disappointing, more than that, just not according to my taste.

Such great service and such homely food.
I've never been happier to have #Gujju Food outside at a restaurant, as much as I've been here
It's a great place to get together for quality worthy Gujarati Food.

This is the perfect place to try authentic gujarati dishes. Very well prepared and serves very good portions of tasty dishes. Their special winter menu you definitely should try. Great ambiance and courteous staff this place truly have my heart.

Aanal Kotak carefully curated the place and the menu after a trip around whole Gujarat. From entrance with 'katputli' dance to music, from decor to custom made cutlery, everything gives out authentic vibes.
.
Food is just brilliant! It's difficult to select a favorite. I loved jalaram bapa na green khaman, Kutchi samosa lasaniya batata nu shak, KATHIYAWADI FOOD & desserts. I highly recommend this place. You can order fix thali which is served in a traditional tiffin box as well as ala carte. Definitely a 5/5 for me.
Kruti Shah
The place is good ... ambiance is also good....that's a horrible service... they are asking us for the Jain or the swaminarayan food ...we had asked them to serve swaminarayan ...they served us sev tamatar sabji....there is no potato sabzi without onion garlic...they have great kasa thali to serve food ....but guys give us something good to eat.....roti they bring for us ....and put that roti on the table..when you again ask for roti they will give you that cold roti ....and cold dal or kadhi .......so nothing is good about this restaurant at all....if anyone give me to rate in minus ....I will give this restaurant a minus ratings.... NOT VALUE FOR MONEY......isase achha to dhabe pe khalo yar
Prakshal Shah
Not value for money. Worst food. Ofcourse you will get "DHABA" feel when they server you sev tamatar sabji in swaminarayan food option. They tried to serve you in north Indian style. They put all food on the table so you can not get the feel of authentic gujarati dish. We are not paying for ambience.
Riaa Patwa
Jordar food jordar seevice... and above all.. chef babubhai is too good in support..
We can think for family party..

Akshada as the name rightly conferred, provides for ultimate dining experience with family.Beautiful Ambience with sandlewood fragrance gives one a grand welcome with courteous staff ready to help start our food journey. From starter to main course to desert they have best of varieties.
We enjoyed Masala Khichya,Anjar na ghugra,Muthiya and Akshada wada-all recommended
Maincourse try their junagadh's special dungdi gathiya n tawa sabji
Desert hot gulkand jalebi is like a cherry on cake very crisp and juicy
To sum up it was delightful experience and for all foodie, try out once for gorging mouth watering gujarati cuisine.Slightly costly but value for money guranteed.
A hallooooooooo Akshada ma...will love to visit once again.😊👍

Worst Gujarati Thali ever eat. First of all, Serving method is very bad, food is not hot ,
Food test is not according to standard.
Val ( pulses) they consider in subji. Only Two subji, which is not sufficient.
Above all price is high, compare with quality.
Please don't go, waste of money.
Vedika
We loved the presentation and the hospitality other than the food ofcourse !
Kishan Dharmendrakumar Nagar
Food was very delicious. The restaurant seating area was impressive. Food presentation was traditional
Shreyas Pathak
The Price is really very very high for each thing they serve.
We ordered dabeli which was good but again highly overpriced.
The Indian bread (roti, bhakhari, thepla, puri) is average more over out of two rotis only one roti served with ghee other is “kori roti” or plain roti.
Ghughra is highly overrated and worst in taste.
Papad nu shak was again a disappointment with high in salt.
Khichya papad was again average.
To sum up they charge almost 50-60% more than the actual price of other good gujarati restaurants.
Imagine 6-8 pieces of jalebi for 279 rs+ GST😟
Far better to visit The Grand Thakar...
And for ghughra dabeli and other snacks items you can visit some lokal shops.
I am giving 2* just because of comfortable seating and good interior that reflects Gujarati Sanskruti.
Ankita Jain
SUPERB ambience, beautiful decor! Polite & courteous staff. One of the few Gujarati thali places where they DO NOT rush you..
Food - lip smackingly delicious! Generous portion sizes, innovative presentation (esp for a thali) & so satisfying!
Holiday lunch done right! 👍🏼

Akshada is the best Premium for the most authentic Gujarati food in Ahmedabad. Akshada comes as a combo restaurant with Secret Kitchen,
so has shared entrance and waiting area. We went on the occassion of the Raksha Bandhan with family.

Price - RS 569 + Taxes [Adult] , RS 349 + Taxes [Child]

They Greet us well .

About place having sumptuously rich interior .

Friendly staff with upto the mark service is cherry on the cake.Lots of items was there in menu for unlimited thali.

Welcome Drink - Kachi Keri No Baflo [So Yummy , 5/5] ,
Sweet- Basundi [Average 3.5 /5] , Gulkand Jalebi [5/5] ,
Farsan-Super Delicious Soft Handvo[5/5], Delicious Anjar Na Ghughra [5/5]
Subji - Bharela Bhinda [3.5/5] , Samosa Lasanya Batata nu Shak [Bit Spicy and Finger Licking 5/5] ,Rangoli Val Nu Shak [Din't taste but as per family 4/5]

Dal - Gujarati Dal/Kadhi [Very Tasty 5/5]

Virpur Khichdi - Average [3.5 / 5]

They also served - Sarevada / Bhungara / Chass / Lasun Chutney / Green Chutney / Pickle / Red Chutney / Salad in beautiful

They prepare everything in desi ghee which enhances the taste as well as the authenticity of gujarati food.

Best Premium Gujarati Restaurant with Quality Food compared to Vishalla , Gordhan Thal etc.

Food was not upto mark. I visited today for rakshabandhan lunch.
I think this restaurant is a hype. Quality was not good.
Even ghugra was salty. Welcome drink was bitter.
Rest of food was normal quality. This one star is for roti and sev tomato sabji.
Visit was not worth.

Must try this place if you looking for authentic Gujarati food. We went in group and had Unlimited Gujarati Thali here. It was high on pocket but every penny was worth.

Food taste and quality completely authentic and best till I had in my life. Service and ambiance of the place was amazing. Had a unique menu which was not allowed to be photographed. You get an option for full unlimited thali or al a carte from menu.

Lots of items was there in menu for unlimited thali.
Welcome Drink - Khas
Farsan - Handvo, Samosa
Sweet - Aam Ras, Jalebi with Gulkand
Sabji - Sev Tomato, Ringan Bateta, Val, Guvar Dhokli, Dal Rice, Kadhi Khichdi, Chaas, Papad, Salad, Chatni...

I am definitely sure to visit this place again and again.
Great food, Akshada.

We visited this place after seeing the reviews on Zomato.
The ambiance is good even their service is very nice but the food is not that good if compared to the price. We had ordered the shahi thali.
Pooja Choksi
Worst service and pathetic selection of Sunday lunch! May be it was my unlucky Sunday- we were not served with water even after 50 minutes of waiting ... Sunday lunch is fixed menu and we were served welcome drink and starter after 20 minutes of wait on table... that too after repeated requests. Main course was not at all up to the mark...
Sanjay
Superb food, superb serving system, not at all typical thali restaurant where all waiters crowding at our table...

Interior is thematically designed...

All utensils and accessories are superb
Sandip Karia
Nice Gujarati Thali food. Nice ambiance. However it cost around 600 per plate which is costly compared to others. I like Bhel, Handvo and Jalebi from their menu.

Best quality food I have ever had compared to Vishalla, Gormo, Gordhan thal, Thakkar thal, etc.

Best in taste

Best part is various food containers they use, it give great experience.

Unlike other Gujarati thal, Food Servicing is very calm and nicely scheduled , which allows you eat enough.

I was not in town and wanted to organize a job retirement party for my mom who successfully completed her 40 years of career life. The only way for me was if someone at the restaurant can facilitate the guests and accept digital payment. I tried 5 different restaurants before I finalized with Akshada. My mom was super surprised when she reached there. My mom-dad along with 8 other guests were really happy with the food and service. Special thanks #Modal ji for this. You made it happen. All thumps up for Akshada! ☺️😊

#LatePost

The place which serves proper Gujarati food as an A-La Carte.

They greet their customer well and very supportive to choose the food items to order from their entire menu by explaining the taste of it. Appreciable 👍🏼

They named the dishes in very unique and desi touch with a caution of not claiming any authenticity of it.

Ambience is by far decent.

Food becomes priority at some places to see its hype and worthy.

So starting with,

Masala-valo Papad(Sarevada):
Crispy and average.

Alongwith,
Mix Bhajiya: Comprises of
BatetaVada- Superb.
Dalwada- Average.
MirchiVada- Superb.
Methi Na Gota- Good.

Coming to the main course and really worth visiting experience starts,

Vadi Nu Shaak:
One of the best of what we ordered as at home we make vadi-papad nu shaak but this is something different, likeable, spicy and worth satisfying tastebuds 😍.

Ganthiya Dungli Nu Shaak:
Worth trying.

Aam-Ras:
It was khatta-metha so for me it is good.

To complete all this we accompanied with:
Rotli- 👌🏻
Thepla- Average.
Puri- Good.
Biscuit Bhakri- Ekdum mast 😍.

Overall, it is not very high on pocket with some worth spending food and the taste will amaze your journey of eating Gujarati soul food.

#food_yatri_k

The food was great, especially the sukhdi and teekhi dal! The daal wasn't very spicy but it was delicious. Malpua was top notch as were the surti dhoklas and lasan chutney. Didn't like the ghugra filling much but the overall taste was good. The staff was very nice and even played the birthday song on the speaker when they found out it was someone's birthday. The instrumental music is nice and doesn't annoy at all. A palate cleanser is provided after starters and I would very much recommend taking sips in between!

The only one complaint I have is about the shape of the bowl (daal katora); it is narrow at the mouth and broad at the base, which makes it a bit uncomfortable to scoop the subzi/daal with roti.

Patel.aamita
food is awesome and upto the mark . Gone for unlimited lunch. it was fine dine experience . sorry we forgot to take the pictures as we are indulged with food .... sukhdi is best .. one must go for that ...subji n roti is also good .. best part of restaurant is that they actually use ghee in food none other like other who says but don’t use .. ghee wala rice and daal is awesome as its remind me of my childhood ... please keep up good work and hygiene as well ....

If you love to eat Gujarati cuisine then it should be on your checklist. Wide range of options available and even food quality is good. Jalebi awesome. Handvo good. Lasaniya bataka with samosa and bharva marcha both subji was good and served with phulka roti. Everything was nice but PANKI was not good. Panki should be thin but it was thick and taste too not good. Ambience good. Service too good.

This restaurant has completely changed my mind about Gujarati food. Until now eating out Gujarati food meant going to a place serving unlimited thali but in Akshada there is a wide range of Gujarati cuisine which I have never heard of and no restaurant generally serves. Here’s the list of items I tried:-

I. STARTERS & BEVERAGES

1. Desi Chaas: Kick started my meal with prominent Gujarati beverage- perfectly spiced and served in the traditional kulhad.

2. Khichiya Papad Masala: Deep fried rice papad with vegetable toppings and masala, a decent appetiser to start the meal with.

3. Kerry Haldar: This drink blew my mind! Made of raw mango (kerry) and raw turmeric (haldi) in the form of a slush, has a very refreshing taste and the taste it addictive. This sure is one of a kind drink!

4. Khaman Chaas: Chaas blended together with khaman, this beverage has a thick consistency and is presented well but taste is average.

5. Maharaj Nu Bournvita: In terms of taste and presentation, truly has lived up to its name. Thick, creamy and chilled bournvita making you wish to replace your regular one.

II. MAIN COURSE

1. Surti Undhiyu: I haven’t tried undhiyu that many times to judge the correct preparation but this one tasted very well and I would to try it again.

2. Lili Haldar Nu Shak: This is a winter delicacy in Gujarat, made out of grated raw turmeric. Cooked in desi ghee, this shak was rich and delicious.

3. Kutchi Samosa Lasanya Batata Nu Shak: From the Kutch part of Gujarat, this was quite a unique shak with samosa and potatoes in a semi dry gravy having spicy and garlic-y lip smacking flavours.

4. Breads: I had all these yummy things served in main course with freshly made flavourful thepla, soft roti and crispy deep fried puri.

III. DESSERT

1. Gulkand Jalebi: This was my first time having this kind of jalebi, being a huge fan of desi desserts I was quite looking forward to this. Thick jalebi with a dollop of gulkand in the centre. This could’ve been better if the jalebi was a bit thinner and crispy with the gulkand flavour infused in it or spread over the jalebi so that it could come in every bite.

2. Rabdi with Malpua: Amongst the desserts, this turned out to be my favourite. Malpua deep fried in ghee and top with thick and creamy rabdi comes out as an extremely heavy dessert and one should make sure to have some appetite left before gorging on this heavenly item.

3. Mahudi Ni Sukhdi: The mention of Mahudi (famous for its one of a kind sukhdi) in the name raises a bar here but sadly this was a let-down. The sukhdi was way too thick as it should be and the taste was just average.

All in all, everything which I tried was extremely good in terms of quality and was made in pure ghee. It is prominent how much they have worked on each dish by the way of unique presentation style and combinations, cannot wait to explore more of their menu.

Akshada is a breath of fresh air when it comes to Gujarati restaurants in Ahmedabad, must try. Cheers!

Went to this place for a Sunday lunch. Situated right next to Secret Kitchen, the place gives off typical traditional feel. Additional points to the ambience they have created which gives off a heritage feel.

We tried a number of items like :

Mango - Haldi mocktail: The Keri Haldal Mocktail was a delight to taste buds.

It was a total 5/5

Bournvita: it was a different bournvita which makes you wish you have it every morning!!

Akshada is the latest entry to an ever growing list of restaurants serving Local/Gujarati cuisine. However the focus here is more on the fact that it has an extensive À la carte menu. Situated right next to The Secret Kitchen is an impressive entryway that leads you inside where a comforting vibe awaits.

Perks of going with a group is that you can try an array of items & that is exactly what we did. How can one not have 'Chhaas' at a Gujarati restaurant? Started off with that, along with another 'Mango-Haldi/Keri Haldar' drink that got a big thumbs up from me owing to it's perfect balance of tanginess and sweetness! On a hot day, that is all one would ideally need. Next up, were some apps like the Lilva Kachori, Tamtam Bhel & Palak Dhokla with Garlic. Whislt the Dhokla felt a tad try, the Kachori and Bhel were flavorful. Among the mains, Undhiyu, Kutchhi Samosa Lasaniya Bataka & Lili Haldar Nu Shaak were what i ate. The Lasaniya Bataka stood out for me with the hot Theplas complimenting it. The Lasaniya Khichdi could however do with a tad less Garlic, but that's just me.

By this time we were so full, a reason for that being that everything here is cooked in ghee. This could be a little damaging on weekdays however.

For the finalé, Jalebis with Gulkand, Malpua with Rabri & Sukhdi were what we ordered & oh boy...the Jalebi emerged as a clear winner. Hot & Crispy with a dash of Gulkand. I loved the Malpua as well, particularly since the Rabri wasn't overly sweet. The Sukhdi was equally nice.

Pleasing and attentive service coupled with some fine tasting food is what awaits you here. A second visit? Yes!

Heard a lot about this place. We wanted to try Gujarati thali on bhai dooj. Unfortunately the service was horrible. The food wasn’t served timely or in sync at all. The staff was extremely rude and no cooperative infact they argued back. extremely disappointing wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.

Ambience: 4/5
Food : 2.5/5
Service: 2.5/5
Management: 1/5
Went for lunch with family on Diwali. They have worked well on ambience and presentation. Really need to work on food and management. People who were serving, they were polite but untrained. Hope things will get better until we get next time. What is happening in ahmedabad? People need to realize that food is equally important with good ambience.

Beautiful ambience and very interesting Gujarati menu but not a great taste not justifying the quantity.
Anjar Ghughra was good but not value for money. Phulka roti and bhakri are exorbitantly expensive. Kutchi lasaniya samosa nu bataka nu shak was good. Patra nu shak was also good but I would have preferred Turiya in it with Patra. Dal was thick but not like original 'naat ni dal'. Ate rice with ghee after many many years and I enjoyed it. Sukhdi was worst, no way you can compare it with Mahudi Sukhdi.
Interior is done heavily but not very impressive.
It can be a good place for non Gujarati people
This place is divided in two parts "Secret kitchen" is for North indian food and "Akshada" for Gujarati.
This review is about Akshada

Interior:🏠
For secret kitchen-Interior is the main attraction of this place but the problem is u can't eat that,
While at Akshada almost every table is for 6-8 persons with average interior.

Service:🤵
For staff service I'd like to use term 'inexperienced' instead of unprofessional b'coz they want to serve u better but don't know how to..

Food:👩‍🍳
There's no options like combos/thali. So u have to order each items u like from starter to desert and everything here is much expensive compared to quality.
For ex: Vaghar khichdi- 230₹, Tawa sabi 260₹
(At this prices u can get unlimited starter to desert gujarati plates in nearby reputed places)

Fun facts:😋
-For Roti/Bhakhri/Puri minimum quantity is two. So If u've ordered one roti they get u two, Whether u like it or not.

-You can't take photos of their menu🙈, it's printed on that (Even Marriott & Hayatt don't hide this but this place does🙊🙉🙈)

Penning my 392th review on zomato for foodies

Visited this newly opened resto on d day of there opening for dinner. They have two different sections for two different cuisines. One for North Indian food n 2nd for Gujarati food.

We had choosen Akshada ie; Gujarati menu

As u step inside interior is at its best in town. They take ur details n guide u at ur table. Everything in this resto is unique, like the selection of crockery team has done is very very unique. If u see ther menu card dishes names r unique n the beauty of the menu card is they have played well with lenin material very well n made d menu card.

Service is good as ther were just 3 tables occupied. Staff is good.

Now d main thing ie food n taste

We ordered

starter : ghughra . Well i have eaten much better n authentic ghughra in my food journey. As we were told by ther captain fatehsing that they dont keep any food prepaid. But after taking 1st bite of this dish to me it tasted like they refried it 2nd time as they weren’t crispy at all like other fried food feels. So 3/5

Main: Samosa with lasaniya aloo with fulka roti
It was good in taste n texture.
So 3.5/5

Desert: Jalebi with gulkand. Again we asked Fathesing for desert recommendation so he suggested us above item. I asked him what so special about it so he explained that jalebis r coated with gulkand so v ordered one, but jalebi came hardly warm from kitchen without any coating of gulkand. They had just put some regular gulkand in centre of jalebis. There’s huge difference in coating n placing d gulkand. Nothing unique as they have explained in d menu card.

So 3/5 for this desert

But one must must must try this place n i hope they will nail it in days to come.
