Ok so first things first. If you are looking for good ambience or great scenic location, than stop right here, you are looking into wrong place. But if you are a foodie who can near with some smell for great food than you are at the right place. This is a place where you can taste real non vegetarian food. This is how non veg foos should be. This is the taste of ahmedabad. Right beside the world heritage site of Sidi Syed mosque, you will find this gem in the narrow lanes of Bhatiyar gali. Lots of issues are here, parking, people, space lots of issues... But a true foodie will let everything go by for food. Must try items are Mutton Chanp, Chicken Fry, Bheja, Gurda Kaleji and lots. Go for it.!! Without hesitation.

Food is no doubt tasty. It's extra oily but you can direct him to make it less oily. The place is situated in a narrow lane which has a lot of meat shops. The entire lane stinks because it's dirty and several shops selling mutton, chicken and fish meat. So better to take parcel instead of sitting amidst the meat market and eating.

This place was highly recommended to our group by a colleague. He clearly mentioned that this is the best place for non-vegetarian in Ahmedabad, if you could accept the environment there. Ambiance 🌫️: ⭐⭐ The place is far from clean. The street outside is the equally messy. If you are a hygiene-freak, this is not the place for you. The water is clean, though!😁 Food 🍽️: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ My expectations are always high after having snacked on Mumbai's street food. However, this is the place which comes close to their taste! They serve hot and enticing food! 🍗 We ate heartful! Value for money 💸: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ The quantity is positive for their price. Infrastructure 🏢: ⭐⭐⭐ The place is opened at the front. Seats are limited. Ventilation should be worked upon. Service 👥: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Not everyone in our group were vegetarian. We asked the owner if we could bring some vegetarian options from outside and eat here. Surprisingly, the owner said he will manage vegetarian food for us, and asked us to have a seat inside, assuring that our vegetarian food will be taken care of while we order!

The Holy Mecca of food for locals & travelers coming to india. This area has some of the best & most cherished eateries spread around the perimeter but those of you who are not that much experimental with food or just want to eat from some place nice & clean then this is for you.

Must visit place if really want to taste street food of Ahmedabad. Great taste, reasonable prices and very quick service. Don't expect very sophisticated seating arrangement.

We tried the mutton chaap here and it was good. Would love to try other items next time as this time it was not possible for us to try them. They could make mutton chaap still more soft. I found it a little uncooked.

I would give it 5 star for their taste but their ambiance isn't that good. Actually i gave it 4 star because of their taste. When you enter in this bhathiyar gali you will feel like a Purani Delhi. Their food quality is awesome. Enjoyed here really!!!

Follow @sweetlifeofafoodie on Instagram! :) Eat with me! :)

We came to this much recommended place on the streets of Old Ahmedabad. It's a lovely locality, a little lost behind in time. It felt like taking a trip into the lanes of the forgotten, being surrounded with brightly light small shops and sudden dark alleys. The food was what made us walk around and explore, and we weren't disappointed! .
MUTTON CHAAP
A favorite at this small shack, it was lovely and soft mutton pieces that were nothing short of a burst of flavour in your mouth. Usually finding places that know how to cook mutton just right, not the general over cooked meat, is quite something in itself. This place served beautiful meat that was packed with flavour. We got a lot of requests that day to bring some back for the others, but we should have gotten some for ourselves as well, because we realised that we wanted more as soon as we left. 💯
.
Foodie tip: Order two plates, not just one. You'll know what we're talking about when you order the first plate. ⚡️ Also make sure you explore Manek Chowk after this meal, for some good dessert to finish up. .
Follow @sweetlifeofafoodie to know the best food around you!
.
.
#muttonchop #indianfoodtales #love #foodporn #spicyfoodporn #eat #eatout #eateateat #eatguide #ahmedabad #ahmedabadfood #ahmedabadfoodblogger #ahmedabaddiaries #chennai #chennaifoodblogger #nyceats #nyceatstagram #vscofood #vscofoodporn #walkwithindia #foodtalkindia #foodtalkahmedabad #foodtalkchennai #eatalwaysgood

One of the best non vegetarian food in Ahmedabad. I love their mutton chap fry and chicken fry. One must try those. I'll be honest, the ambience is not very friendly neither the service, then again, who cares? At least I don't! (but my girl friend does, obviously :p)
You'll experience a very bad smell of dried fish just before you reach the shop. But, trust me, the smell disappears when you reach the shop and more importantly, after you experience the food that they serve you, you'll definetely forget everything about thay odor.

Incredible food, lovely non veg dishes, their speciality mutton fry is off the hook. if you don't care about the ambience this is the best place to go

Another fry center. A bit famous over internet as some TV anchor reviewed it. Nothing special about it. Mutton chap fry was horrible. Chicken Pesto was very tasty. Chicken masala was good.

Note that all items are very oily.

I have heard a good name of ZK fry centre at bhatiyar gali. Many of my friends have also suggested to eat non veg over there. They have also participated in Ahmedabad Food Festival 2016. So i came here for first time. But i was really very disappointed. The quality which i was expecting was not delivered. I have ordered chicken pathani which was not spicy even i told them. Butter chapati was not good. Butter quality they are using is of inferior quality. And at the last i thaught that zk special chicken fried rice should be special but it was the worst fried rice i ever had. It was so wet, sweet and tasteless. The place is also very dirty smelly and service is very bad.

i ordered chicken dum biryani...chicken pieces were stale , smelly......taste of rice was not ok...even that place is very dirty...i ll never order it from there again

(1) Food : 1.5/5.. too oily & tasteless!!!

(2) Ambience : 1/5.. Roadside eatery.. don't expect much..

(3) Service : 1/5.. Staff was senseless and lacked basic hygiene etiquette..

(4) Value for Money : 1/5.. Wasted ₹250 for only 2 dishes!!

(5) Verdict : Not a place worth to visit again. Cheap food quality. Not for a hardcore foodie. Avoid it..!!
After two days of vegetarian "delights", I took a friend's advice and headed to the old city. The exact location is Bhatiyar Gali, near Teen Darwaza.

My friend had adequately warned me but I didn't realise the magnitude of her warning until I entered the gali. The stench hits you so hard that it would have made the faint hearted run away. If you thought Jama Masjid or Ameenabad is dirty, multiply that by 10! Bakhtiyar Gali is a murgi market and the smell of bird droppings over take your olfactory senses instantly. Between the shops selling murgi, there are dhabas along the street. I had to choose between Akbari Hotel and ZK Fry Centre. I walked to the end of the street and almost made up my mind to get out due to the smell. However I decided to give it a shot and went to ZK Fry.
The seating is along the street in the open so had to brace the stench.

Asked the servers about their speciality and they read out the entire menu, in true dhaba style. After some coaxing they suggested to try the bhuna mutton. It was mutton Boti floating in a plate of oil. It was just about alright. To the staff's amazement I told them I wanted to order another dish, they recommended Pesto Chicken, which was shredded chicken in a oil rich gravy.

All the dishes are cooked on the tawa (of course the chicken and mutton were half done previously on the grill). If you think Kareem's curries are too oily, imagine 3 times more oil! Hopefully the pics will give you an idea.

I had 2 dishes with 4 tawa rotis and a bottle of water. Bill was for Rs.300. The manager told me that the shop is 40-45 years old and is world famous in Ahmedabad! They can deliver if the minimum order is Rs.500 and the customer picks up the auto fare.

After struggling to find local non vegetarian food, I landed in the Mecca of non veg in this city. I liked the food (with so much oil it cant taste bad) and am sure it would have tasted much better minus the stench.
Batiyar Galli is place to have your fill for non-veg food and it's good to certain extent.

I tried Mutton Chap (must eat: juicy pieces, good taste but ask to reduce the oil) and chicken Pesto (which looked like butter free version of Makhanwala: avoid though the tandoori pieces were good) and with 4 rotis the bill came to Rs.310 (pocket friendly)

My fellow eaters were ordering Mutton chap or fry, Tandoori chicken and rotis mst of the time.

I tried mutton fry and chicken masala.mutton fry was super tasty.must definitley try it.chicken masala was mild but quality of the food was really good

Tasty food with reasonable price! Must try if you're a non-veg lover! Place is little uncomfortable for family, but if you're alone and looking for good food and cheap food, then must go for this one.
Sagar Dembla
All time favourite place. A plethora of Non-Veg dishes. If oily food and unhygienic surroundings turn u off then this place is a no no but I think those things hardly matter for a foodie. Satisfies midnight meat cravings. Light on pocket,Big at heart(Quantity). Go for it!

Worst place ever visited... Food is tasteless and ultimately in hygienic... Not at all recommended.... Every item is fried in a gravy that is not even cooked properly... Save urself before trying any outlets in bhatiyar gali

One of the best place to go for tawa food
U will prefer to take parcel over there as the location is not that much good to have food at there ...
The food taste is superb u will love it

Ignore the stench, and the dirty sights of the surrounding streets, and you shall taste some of the best non-veg Gujju-land has to offer (among the limited variety that it does). The mutton kashmiri is their flagship dish. Green, spicy, heavy and ultimately satisfying, it does the state a great honour in attaching its name to its own (whether their is any connection between the two, i have no idea (there is none, probably)).

One of the best non veg joints....best in Ahmedabad but do not compare with north india...go enjoy..
Some items are delicious..some are not..but overall "jana to banta hai"

Z K Fry - Heaven for Non-Vegetarians in Ahmedabad/Gandhinagar

While working in Gandhinagar, we used to keep searching for best Non-Vegetarian restaurants nearby. But were always disappointed until we reached here!

Z K Fry is the best place I could find to have Chicken/Mutton dishes.

The Chicken Tandoori & Mutton Chap Fry are the must haves. They offer many different dishes including some fish dishes with chapatis, papad & unlimited onions!

The place is an open food joint where you need to sit on the benches. This joint is always crowded while the adjacent ones are vacant.

Also, this place remains open even after 12 midnight and highly affordable!

Must try for Non-Vegetarians!

Food - 4/5
Ambiance - No need!
Service - 3/5
Affordability - 4.5/5

The first time I was introduced to this place, 3 years ago.. I have liked chicken fry here since then. The only problem is too much of oil. If you are not worried about oil, this is the best place to have tawa items.. Infect whole bhatiyar gali is best midnight food place..
Ujjwal
Feeling robbed..so much name of shikanja kabab..big dud..chap fry with no mutton..value for money if u translate it into lots of cheap oil n no observable meat..dont get carried away by tv programmes as we got
