I visited the place on the day of diwali , where most of the restaurants are over crowded but this place is calm having pleasant ambiance.
Food was exceptionally good with good hygiene level and having typical authentic gujarati taste
It is not like a restaurant it is like a heritage home. Staff here is so humble and service is so sweet that we don't feel like customer but we feel that we are the guest to this place. Food is awesome. They serve all things fresh.
Taste : 9/10
Hygienic : 8/10
Ambiance : 9/10
Service : 9/10
Cleanliness : 8/10
Value for money : 8/10

Saw the photos of this place on Zomato, took a friend along last week to curb my fetish for a Gujarati thali meal.
Did it disappoint? Read along.

The place is much better than what the photos show. The restaurant has not put up a menu, so I was eager to know the servings.
They started with sweet Gujarati delicacies, like Basundi and Sukhdi. I loved the Basundi; the sweetness was just right.
The Samosas and Dhoklas were yummy. I ordered more than four times along the course of the meal.
The main course was decent; the usual Aloo, Cabbage subzis. The corn capsicum was a pleasant surprise.
The sweet dal is my personal favorite, and they didn't disappoint here too.

All in all, a very decent place to relish a fulsome Gujarati thali. The place is ideal for planning a family outing.

Food: 4.5/5 (extra half for the Basundi)
Ambiance: 4/5 (ideal for a family get-together)
Service: 4/5 (they don't push everything on your place, unlike other places)
VFM: 4/5

The other day we wanted to take some family guest for a good Gujrati Thali, and Rudu came to mind as its a new place and have seen some good reviews on Zomato. We went there for lunch over the weekend and was quite impressed by the interiors. A very nice and warm feeling when you settle down for a meal. It had a few people in the restaurant at lunch time and hence was a little noisy. I am quite certain it a lot more pleasant with less crowd.

The deal they serve is 2 sweets, starters, subji and roti and obviously daal chaval. I love Bhindi and hence I was in love with their offering. Doodhi ka Mutiya was preety good, the doodhi ka halwa was awesome!! I think this place is here to stay for long. They have the right combination of food offering and ambiance. For a 300+ Rs. price point I think it is slightly high on the pocket.

Food: 4/5
Ambiance: 4/5
VFM: 3.5/5

One of the few places where eating a Thali is totally worth it ....food is delicious and comes with that simplicity of home made food kept intact....all in all totally sin free indulgence in delicious food :)
The owners take care of guests personally so service is exceptional!

If you're of the opinion of Not eating at the traditional Gujarati thali restaurants, Rudu Bhojan is surely going to change your opinion. The choice of Menu is very nice. Food quality is superb. I specially admired the Oil-Free vegetables, lovely farsan and gujarati Dal. The taste is lip-smacking. Very nice and different concept to the traditional Gujarati Thali's. Surely will visit again...and again.

I reside in Mumbai and was looking to taste authentic and homely Gujarati food in Ahmedabad when my friend recommended this newly opened restaurant to me. Located in the heart of the city Rudu turned out to be a wonderful surprise. The food was lip smacking and the environment and ambience very friendly. By tradition the people of Gujarat are very guest friendly and hospitable and this place takes that legacy a step above. All i can say is i will be back pretty soon to experience Rudu again.

excellent autentic gujarati food. All the vegetables were tasty and oil free just like home The bataka wadas were out of this world and never had such pure kesar keri aam ras in a restaurant. It is definately worth visiting, and am sure that once you visit you want to go again and again
