Review The Harbour Restaurant - Alappuzha

Dr. Vysakh Venu
I recently visited The Harbour bar and beer parlour in Alappuzha and I must say, it was a great experience. The lobster was cooked to perfection and I was very pleased with the quality. The only downside was that it was quite noisy, but the polite service more than made up for it. Prices were also very reasonable, making it a great value for money. Highly recommended

Wonderful ending to a great day spent in Kerala beach. Good food. Ordered the Chicken fried noodle with chilli prawns. Gets busy by 8.30pm. Great beer too.

Life changing. Never have I had a more satisfying experience. I’ve traveled the world time and time again. Nothing compares. Made so many wonderful lifelong friends. I will take these memories with me wherever I go, through good times and bad.

Restaurant for a date night. The lighting and ambience sets the mood, food is good and there isn't a long wait. It's in front of Alappy beach. Bit expensive, Cards accepted. Parking available. Both veg and non veg provided. Amazing service as well. Great vibe and good food.

This Restaurant is located in the heart of Alleppey Beach. The perfect place to have a good meal with your loved ones while enjoying music in the evening laziness. Precise lighting and garden arrangements take us to another vibe in the evening. The efforts made by them to maintain the uniqueness of Kerala are commendable. Good taste food with minimal time of preparation and staff behavior is good & gentle. Nice ambience at night ❤️ TOTALLY RECOMMENDED

Everything was wonderful. Was having the time of my life hanging with the locals. Unfortunately some expat arrived and ruined the vibe. Wanted to talk about Ozark and how he’s a big deal in Hong Kong. Sad.

Good place to have seafood with a beach view. The food was palatable prepared in kerala style and was mild in spice. The design of the place is in a beach shack style but giving a very kerala courtyard vibe which is just lovely. Overall I give a big thumbs up. I had a good experience.

Nice little restaurant on Aleppey beach. Delicious food, good wine, reasonable prices. Great place for tourists, especially Europeans as the food is prepared with moderate spices and hence palatable. Flies are a problem, they annoyed the living daylights out of me, kept falling on my food and glass of wine. Other than that, it was a nice experience.

The place is a good one, the only place in allepey which has a vibe of bar and stuff.. The fish is so good here... Beers are reasonable.

You have to understand these 4 stars are wrt to places in Alappey. It's apparently the only place in Alappey where a woman can have a drink. So, yea. The beer variety was decent and the chilli beef was 😍. Did I mention it's right opposite the beach?🤩 Cheers!

First and foremost, the selection of beverages at The Harbour Bar and Beer Parlour is impressive. Whether you're a beer connoisseur or prefer other spirits, you'll find something to suit your taste. The bar offers a wide range of local and international beers, including craft brews that are sure to please beer enthusiasts. The staff is knowledgeable about the different options and can help you make the perfect choice based on your preferences..

The staff was hesitant to give us a table, offering vague excuses about long service time for not just food but also drinks. We had a hunch their demeanour was cold because we did not meet the race eligibility and the same was confirmed when they walked to the entrance to welcome some patrons who came after we did. I believe the management should redirect their focus on improving service (very slow!) and hygiene (too many mosquitoes) instead of racially profiling visitors. As long as someone clears the bill, I don't see why any discrimination should exist!

The place is filled with mosquitoes. Only good with the ambiance. Poor service. No point to go to this restaurant. Waste place. Luckily for them there is no “0” rating. The staff here are very unfriendly.

They do not entertain Indians and were quite rude when we asked for a table. They tried to shoo us away by saying that it would take an hour to get us our drinks. Even when there was an empty table they were reluctant to offer it to us. At the same time a foreign couple came to the entrance and they ran out to welcome them. Even the demeanour of the servers was sullen with us but cheery with the foreigners

This restaurant doesn't allow Indians to book a table. They beat around the bush when interrogated about reservation, only to realise in the end that 'certain tables' are always booked. If you request in person, you are rather judged on skin colour or whichever superficial criterion they base their decisions on and if you believe that booking online might serve the purpose, good luck with the excuses. In the end, you probably need a visa to get an entry there. I would advise to start the process in advance.

We tried to have western food here and it was pretty mediocre. The "grilled fish" ended up being one slice of dry fish with oily fries and soggy vegetables. The tomato pasta was heavy and creamy. Orange juice was good. Overall pretty mediocre for the price but good atmosphere. Slow service.

I was saddened by the fact the staff and the management are extremely racist towards their Indian patrons. My wife and I just happened to be only Indian people on this very fateful night at their establishment, and we were all kinds of ignored and spoken to rudely by the wait staff. I was very taken aback by this behaviour because our experience in Kerala so far has been A+, but HB was a complete let down. Sure, we drank our beers and ate our food, but I'd hesitate to even mention this place to our Indian friends visiting in the future.

The food is good. But they charge 18% GST as they are a resort. So be aware of that. It's not 5% GST as with other restaurants.

We had the cream of chicken soup which was very tasty. The cool harbour dessert is also worth mentioning as well.
