Review Borma - Alappuzha

Ishita Khurana
It was a good suggestion by locals. The place was very beautiful, aesthetically pleasing. The food tasted amazing. The coffee was okay, wouldn't recommend. The portion sizes were smaller and it took quite sometime for them to get the food prepared, but the taste makes it worth the wait. Do try the Mediterranean hummas and cheesecake

Borma is our favourite spot in alappuzha. They have minimal menu and they serve the best on it. Loved their hazelnut crunch cake always. Iced coconut coffee was a new thing and it was awesome. Fish and chips must try.

They have mouthwatering cheesecakes & pastries. The cozy ambiance and chic interiors make it the perfect spot to enjoy delicious treats. A delightful experience for both the taste buds and the eyes.

Great place for Alleppey… Heard about it quite some time back but made a head way this time.. Went to pick up the take away and ended up sitting there and went ahead to order more and spend time there.. Amazing delicacies.. everything looks Yuuum and what we had tasted yum… in the process forgot to take clicks of the cheese cake and Traid.. it’s all freshly baked and it just melts down.. To enjoy it, highly recommend you to dine in and not do a take away.. The ambience is great.. Service is great… the food preparation takes a few minutes and worth the wait.. good to hang around there…

One of the best cafes I've visited in a long while. Would definitely recommend the place. Ambience: 5/5 Taste: 4/5 Price: 4/5 Service: 4/5 Pretty unique ambience, one that perfectly captures the essence of nature and the warmth of human spirits. The miniature pond, and all the plants and barks surrounding the entire place gives it a really cosy vibe, along with the tactfully placed decor and artifacts. Gotta give it a solid 9 for the cottagecore appearance. Gives us a cozy warm feeling, something that pairs really well with the desserts they serve. Also, props to whoever came up with the playlist, plenty of mellow songs that match the theme perfectly. I hope they paid you well lol. Loved it. As for food, you get what you pay for. They're not as expensive as you'd expect, but it is definitely on the pricier side. But you do get the quality that comes with the higher price, so it's absolutely worth it imo. Pulled beef tacos were so good, she almost cried lol. Serving size was small, for the price though. As for veg options, the paneer roll was good, nothing spectacular but yeah, for 140₹, I'm not complaining. Masala chai for 50₹ is absolutely not it lmao. Better get something else. (I'm a masala tea addict, so yeah) Lotus biscoff cheesecake was a DREAM. perfect ratio of tanginess to sourness balanced with the sweetness of the sauce. As good as one from high end bakeries. It was pricey at around 240₹. "OG chocolate cake" as it's called, was really moist and well made. Orange muffins were good too, with a slight hint of orange, not too overpowering or sweet, perfect balance. Fries were pretty underwhelming though, for 150₹ I expected better. They weren't spicy as you'd expect. Pretty standard fries. Pretty expensive, considering we paid over 1000₹ for just the two of us (granted we ate a lot lol), but worth it for us. The only gripe I have is the wait time. We were the ones and it took them more than half an hour to start getting us the dishes we ordered. But ig if you like to talk a lot, this place would be heaven for you. Hunger is the best sauce, but I prefer mine without it. Everything else is just perfect. Servers are very nice, and helpful, parking is okayish, and they have cute takeaway bags too lol. They really have thought about everything. The little details make this one of my favorite cafes in Kerala so far.

Must visit place in Alleppey. We visited the place in July 2023. Looked like it is run by a family. Ambience, service and reception were very good. Can't forget taste of the food there 😁!!! Cheesecake is the best. We tried OG chocolate cake, fish & chips, passionfruit juice and pancakes. All are equally good in taste and freshness. Will come back in our next visit to Alleppey.

Nice enough food but small portions. The service was beyond slow. There were 4 of us and our meals all came out 10 mins apart, after already waiting for an hour.

A favorite hangout place in Alleppey town. The ambience is at its best. The food though a bit on the pricey side is very yum and fine to the taste pallet. The way they have done the interiors is commendable. Must try Corn spinach sandwich, tacos and passion fruit juice. All the chocolate lovers must try their OG cake.

The cafe's vibes is just right and it feels very cozy surrounded by lush green plants. I had my best times here by trying the chocolate shake and ohh the mallu eggs were out of the world! So unique 👏

A perfect spot to savor treats amidst tranquility, the space is very cosy and have a distinctive vibe. Some of the cold beverages are really enjoyable, eggless tart is nice and flaky.

Loved the ambience and the food. While in Aleppey we went for breakfast here for two days. On the first day we saw their specials and ordered a coconut coffee, this is apparently made with coconut milk and milk as per the waiting staff, this was a cold drink. It tasted great and it was a new tasting experience for us. Another one of my favorites from the cafe was Turkish mallu eggs. I really loved their take on fusion there and all the flavours balanced well. I ordered it on both days. The rest of the dishes we ordered were English breakfast(this comes with a full glass of water melon juice, you can request for no sugar if needed), shakshuka, caramel and banana pancakes, classic pancake, fish and chips, and a grilled bbq sandwich. Now I've had better English breakfast's at other places but this wasn't bad, it could be better. The rest of the dishes, I really liked all of them. Tried two of their cupcakes as well and it was soft and tasty. Great value for money and the ambience gives you a lazy-sunday vibe.

A cozy lil space in a cosy lane with amazing food. Everyone caters with a smile and two even ran around looking after my daughter. The OG Chocolate cake is soft moist and I dunno what's the word.. Chocolatey? Melts in mouth types. The ambience too deserves a special mention. Will definitely be back.

Awesome vibe. Large menu for all customers. Desserts are their real MVPs. Must try their cheesecakes and brownies.

Amazing food, we had like 10-12 different things, everything perfect. Especially recommend the classic pancake, Affogato, American & English breakfast.

The place is good and creates a good ambience. Lots of artistic things and a small water fall is created inside. Nice place for taking photographs. The options for food is less and only limited dishes are provided. Vegetarian options are few.

Very charming place with a pleasant decor full of greenery, friendly service, large selection of drinks, desserts and lunch dishes. The food is tasty and nicely presented, the prices are a bit higher, but it's worth it.

Wonderful, little place, where you can escape into. Has a cute outside area and the people working there were all so very sweet. Food was tasty and overall vibe was so nice that we ended up going back twice. Highly recommended!
