Review Cafe 'dona - Aldona

Nikita Desai
A very lovely cafe in the middle of the lovely village of Aldona Goa. This cafe offers you pizzas, calzones, burgers, fries, salads and drinks. I loved both the bbq chijen Pizza and the veg pizza with olives and sun dried tomatoes. Also calzone that I tried here was amazing. And to the last the La Dona special Ice-cream in Chocolate almond flavor was heavenly. It was just so so so good. A must try when you're here. Every bite of it is full of happiness (chocolate and almonds). The ambience is cool( except in the evening 6.30 to 7.15) where the mosquitos will attack you. But the place is really a good place to hang out with friends and all the pizza lovers.. I had wonderful time out there. Thank you cafe La Dona.

Cafe Dona is located in a quaint little village in Goa. The parking is outside the restaurant. As you step into the premises, you can spot luscious green bed on both sides of the pathway. There's a small canal that runs through the place. Since it's the monsoon season, the liftle ferns are a treat to our eyes. But what good is a restaurant that is mere a visual treat? It needs to satisfy our taste buds, right? And, it does more than that. They have a lot of varieties that will definitely keep increasing your craving for wanting more. It serves both veg and non-veg. We had a feast as you can see in the pics. Visiting Goa? Make sure you get to this place to get that Goan experience and for some amazing exotic food!

Nice and cosy place with superb pizza options on a thin crust to binge on. Tried the Oh Dona dessert and it's simply brilliant. Wish the hot olive oil was actually zingy and so did the chilly flakes

At last a great Pizza cafe this side of Aldona(Goa). It's vast and open, even has an airy lounge area on the mezzanine floor. The owners have taken immense care to showcase a carefree, zippy ambience . The Pizzas are primarily thin crust and a wide range to choose from. Beer from the tap, and cocktails are served here.

The best thin crust pizzas I've had in a while! Amazing burgers as well. They make their own burger buns. Lovely ambiance, great for families. Nice place to just chill for brunch as well as dinner. Spend a lazy day on one of the hammocks.

Just found this cafe as we were passing by Aldona, its located on a beautiful property with an awesome garden . Coming to the service, the staff were really friendly and got good service from them even as the owner(or the manager ,not sure) had a grumpy look the whole time we were there. The food was nice , didn't like the pizza sauce, but the crust was nice. Mitzones had a lot of flour on the base ,so it tasted a bit odd. The best thing we had was their homemade dessert, really recommend it.

The pizzas are great, the location where you find it is idyllic, and the guys running it are super friendly. If you are this side of Goa, give Cafe Dona a try.

It's my go-to place in this quiet village neighbourhood when the kitchen at home needs a break from me, and vice versa. Tucked just off the main road in a relaxed and airy setting, it's a great place to meet friends and let the kids run free. The burgers are my favourite - sumptuous, filling and always with fries included :) Friendly, responsive and very accommodating staff too.

Goa is definitely a foodie's delight but when you have two elementary school-going kids who are extremely picky about their food, it can turn in to quite a nightmare. So imagine my delight when we ended up at this rather chilled-out, easygoing place set in a nice green space in a rather quaint part of Goa and just the fact that the menu had thincrust pizzas and Calzones (something I rarely see on menus) was a win for us. But well then again there are loads of places that do serve pizzas, burgers, etc. So we waited for our food to come. And when it did and the first bite was taken, I think my kids drew daggers and probably kept checking how much the other was taking. The pizzas and the Calzones were to DIE FOR! As would happen in the subsequent days, we found ourselves eating Cafe Dona food regularly. My kids tried all the pizzas over the days and loved it. I tried the Dona Special (not sure of the name) and that is my favorite. Who knew goan sausages, feta, and dark chocolate can be a winning combo! We also tried the cheese jalapeno poppers from their appetizer menu which was delicious and retained the crispy outside with the cheesy inside. The bacon and Cheeseburger was yum as well. The Cheeseburger was a juicy patty, not overcooked and dry. I can keep gushing about the food and the vibe here (easy) but you get the drift already. What I absolutely appreciate is the absolute liberal dose of toppings/stuffings in everything. These folks (Mudit, the Cafe owner, and his spunky wife Neela) love their food and it shows. Keep it going, guys. We are definitely visiting you when we return to Goa.

A new lil cafe openned barely six weeks ago. Quite a vast property with decent seating as well as upstairs on a mezzanine floor. The place specialises in pizzas and burgers. We tried out like four different types of pizzas and a out three calzones and none of them disappointed. Nice thin crust pizzas. Good toppings. Calzones were nicely stuffed. A chilled out atmosphere. Nice to sit by the coconut trees. Parking is located opposite the cafe. The only thing of concern is a huge mobile tower located in the property which we noticed while getting out. Not quite sure of chilling in a cafe located with a high radiation tower located in the same property. We enjoyed the pizzas and had a good conversation with the man who is running the place. We understood his concepts and agreed with it. Maybe if he shifts his location to a better place it would be ideal.

Some of the best pizza anywhere! Thin crust, (whole wheat) with super topping options to choose from. Also their very own "Mitzones" pure delight in every mouthful. And how can I forget the burgers, with just the right amount of goodness and proportion. They sometimes sell out pretty fast, and thats a measure of how good they really are...overall a very cool place to chill; Mr Sibal, Mr Mitra and Ms Raman, next time I want the burger please !

Barbecue chicken and the Margherita are our favourite pizzas from Café DoNa. We generally get take-aways back home, but the place is also decent, fresh air and very relaxing. Go try them

Really chill place for food and beer. The hung curd pizza could do with a bit of improvement. Other than that, I had a really lovely evening, and especially enjoyed the warm orange and almond cake. Yum!

It may look like your average neighborhood cafe...but Cafe DoNa is anything but that! Cafe DoNa will greet you with two things...welcoming and pleasant owners/staff and the aroma of pizzas being freshly baked. The menu has pizzas, burgers, mitzones (chef Mitra’s special calzones) and of course desserts! Everything that I tried from the menu (of course over a course of a few days) exceeded expectations! Right from the pepperoni pizza, the bacon bomb pizza, the DoNa special pizza, the ham and cheese mitzone and all the desserts are something to definitely write home about! When in Goa do make sure you make the effort to visit Cafe DoNa. It is not on the tourist belt but is definitely worth the effort you will make to visit this place. Do make sure you try the DoNa special pizza and DO NOT leave without ending your meal with the Tunisian Orange Almond cake! You will be transported straight to heaven!!

Their menu is pretty simple yet appetising. The ambience is beautiful and calming. The Margarita Pizza surprised me, it was amazing while their Bacon bomb pizza wasn't as good as it sounded. The Dona special pizza is another must try, the play of chorizo with a little bit of dark chocolate dressing was yum. I loved the Orange Ginger juice concentrate and the dessert was a cherry on the top. Would definitely visit again to try some of their burgers and salads! They are a little on the pricey side but they seem worth it.

I have been travelling to Aldona of late and I kept seeing Cafe Dona on my way. I was quite eager to check this place out as it is surrounded by lush greenery and it looked like something I would want try out. Finally visited Cafe Dona the other night with some friends. The ambience is serene and quiet. The place had burgers and me being a burger lover it got my mouth watering.. I ordered the Beef Bacon Cheese Burger. Meanwhile my friends ordered the Pork Pepperoni Pizza and the Chunky Beef Salad with Zesty Basil Orange. After the order was placed the waiter came to me and told me that they didn't have burger buns and could they use a Goan poi. I was surprised that he would make such a suggestion given the fact that the price of the burger was 380 bucks. I immediately cancelled the order and ordered for the Ham & Cheese Mitzone. None of the dishes tasted good. The Pizza sauce was very bland and the Pepperoni could have been cooked a little more. The Beef Salad had huge chunks of cucumber in it and it lacked enough seasoning. Besides this there flavours of some of the elements were not even there making me wonder if some of the ingredients were left out. The Ham and Cheese Mitzone was the best dish of the night. It was full of flavour but the pastry could have got done with more crunch to it. Besides the food we had the kombucha and the orange and ginger juice which were amazing! After the disappointing meal my friend decided to try the dessert hoping for redemption. He ordered for the Tunisian Orange Almond Cake which had a beautiful flavour but sadly it was also a little burnt. The food wasn't worth the price.

Location serene amidst greenery. Peaceful and quiet. The Extra thin crust sun-dried veg pizza was awesome. Definitely will recommend it for it's relaxed atmosphere too.
