We are regular customers of El chico for the past 18 years and seen this place evolve beautifully. You get best quality of bakery n cakes n all other related things in the whole town. I just love this place.

To begin with El Chico has been my second home as I am a very regular customer there since childhood. The new renovated El Chico is definitely a must visit in town. Beautiful interiors and Lovely ambience and classy vibes. Coming to staff they are extremely friendly and will take good care of you. I love the fact that one old uncle is still there who knows me well since childhood afterall he is there since 30 years. Even the owner will be on his toes to make sure that you are having a pleasant experience. Now coming to food, so if you are someone pure Allahabadi you will definitely feel a change in taste as it doesn't meet up to the previous standards specially the Chinese but if you are newbie in town or not a frequent visitor you might find it good. El Chico has a legacy and me as a customer looks forward to same old taste and nostalgia.

Great taste. Well if we talk about price, yes it's a bit higher byt when you taste it's all worth it. But we have to wait for long time.

Tried their bakery section. One of the best in the city and probably among the best in our country. The variety of bakeries they provide and the quality they maintain is astonishing. Choco lava cake the favourite till now for me. Their dining section serves one of the best non veg foods in Prayagraj ( I haven't tried veg options but are expected to be good). Must tries are the different sizzlers ( special recommended Fish sizzler with grilled sole fish). Mutton biryani is delicious. The usual roti and indian curries are also good.

One of the finest place to dine in Prayagraj. Place is comfortable, cozy and the ambience is good. Their service is also good. Taste of the food is delicious but the budget is a bit higher than the usual places. This is because of the ambience they provide. Their Indian food is amazing. Chinese is also good to go.

This place is best overall for family dine . Greeting was awesome and then we were taken by lift to third floor , omg so classy look all over the place , restaurant feels so roomy and spacious . Servers were well mannered giving greeting , knows well about food option and provide suggestions and asks question & very friendly . Manager at this place came twice at our desk and made sure best services are provided . Price …average food cost is about 800 per person !! Affordable option !! Food here are very good . Food presentation is ,area they can improve but big deal provide price point and location . Good ambiance , delicious food , good service ,Hi5 to all staff !!! Food is tasty , atmosphere is vibrant & location is superb , service is fast … many varieties in the menu … some of the new dishes we tried like lotus root stir fried & many … perfect for photography.. they have seprate terrace section which opens in night only…

The food fails to match the interiors however, the cakes and pastries we bought for takeaway were amazingly good. Even the whole wheat bread was delicious. In fact, it's freshness amazed me.

Had two lunch meal..so cudnt sit in their fine dine as it's operational after 7 pm. Good economic food.. lavish bakery items..had lemon tart after lunch.. awesome experience..i felt only place in allahabad if want to go out.

Amazing place, although i tried bakery items only.. But they were actually good. Rich flavor and high baking skills could be observed.. Staff is professional but cooperative - not easy to find. The restaurant and terrace are also quite decent. Overall i loved visiting here and will be back again..

I did order for a veg lasagna, expected something good in taste as the name of the place "El Chico" is very preferred among good spots to have satisfactory food items, but what I have got as my order was nothing to meet my expectations, it was not at all good in taste even tasted like some cheap "Aalu Tikki," even Aalu Tikki holds a taste better than El Chico's veg lasagna. Was a bad experience for me, will never gonna order "Veg lasagna" from here ever again.

Whoever praising this restaurant is tasteless person as this is cheater restaurant I went there in 2006 but my experience was horrible.It is better to taste street food then here.It is totally worthless

First of all great ambiance and great service.<br/>Coming to point, I ordered Mocktails and shakes. Blue Lagoon was quite impressive but mango shake was not so good. Then I ordered Penne Arrabbiata Pasta which was so yummy and delicious.<br/>Good place to Dine in with your family members.

The food of El Chico is so satisfying. Specially burger, paneer tikka, soups,kadai panneer is best in vegetarian dishes. The only thing is at the restaurant they told that every variant of noodles contains egg. While in app it doesn't mention that. It's very confusing for pure vegetarians. Substracting a star for this reason.

nothing about this restaurant is good, I don't know why this is famous, even why it is still running at all.<br/>Very bad ambience, first 10 minutes inside restaurant, I wanted to leave asap but already ordered food so stayed there somehow, i was too much irritated of the noise and the crowd, no music system, I give -10 in ambience. and same goes for food too. Worst food i ever had in Allahabad, even some street vendor is better than this. It was overpriced compared to what they gave. Chicken rara is not at all like this what they serve here, same goes for chicken schezwan, and the worst they could provide us was babycorn and soya chaap. We had to go to bikanerwala after this to change our taste. Never going back again.

So i wanted to take my folks to place which has been known for ages... since 1964.. but the food (Kadhai Paneer & Naan) was disgusting. The waiter was trying to help us but the manager was very rude .. No customer centric approach... left the place with a very bad taste.. would never want to visit again.

One of the worst experience of my life, we ordered paneer tikka masala and naan. Firstly the naan was fermented and over and above that paneer was stale and tasted like thermocol. We showed the same to the waiter as well and he took it to the chef as well, we were wrong to believe after all this they would be courteous enough to not charge for stale paneer but we were wrong they were like we did not taste it but we believe it was ok. I don't remember the first time I came to el chico but I think I was crawling back then. I remember all birthdays and family dinners happening at el chico. It's almost like a second home. Perfection, thy name is elchico. We went there for lunch a couple of days back and the food was simply superb. I have to mention the Mango Mojito and the Shami Kabab, absolutely amazing. The Chicken Biryani was good and the Palak Corn Baked dish is my eternal favorite. To top it all the seasonal special Mango dessert with fresh mangoes, icecream and Malai was just fabulous. When ever I am in Allahabad, a meal at El Chico is a must!!!

Heard a lot about it being Allahabad's one of the oldest restaurant...gave it a try, and was not at all disappointed. The ambience is elite, very catchy indeed. Even being a weekday the place was packed. We ordered Chilly paneer, Veg chowmein and Veg American Chopsuey.<br/>The paneer and chowmein were 5 Star dishes, must try. Whereas the Chopsuey was a little tangy than my liking. Service was tad slow but overall would love to try this place again. Cheers !

On asking around people for a good place to eat in Allahabad - El chico was on top of recommendation. And it did not disappoint.The biriyani was well cooked and very tasty.So was the lassi! The ambience was great and the service was prompt and courteous. Within our 3 days of stay, we visited this place twice. Will go again whenever I visit Allahabad next

I been to Allahabad during Khumbh mela, we visited el chico. The only and only one decent place to have a family dinner. <br/>This place is ancient and you will see good and IAS, judge level family having dinner . <br/>Located in the main market of civil line, this place has a decent ambience. <br/>We had to wait for 15-20 mins to get the table since restro is full. <br/>We ordered sizzlers, which was actually not a sizzler but was looking/tasting like only the boiled vegetables. <br/>Secondly we ordered tandoori potatoes which was over priced as compared to the cost of it . <br/>Mix sauce pasta was descent, paneer lababadar was decent . It was good experience with El Chico one of the oldest property of Allahabad and good place for fine dining and they are more into continental,Indian and Mughlai.Service part is also good but if you are koi for this place for dining then you have to pre booked your table without pre booking you will face waiting problem over there.

We were in Pryagraj for Kumbh and were looking for a nice place to eat, few people we inquired from recommended El Chico. This is a nice very cozy family restaurant. We had to wait for 15 minuets to get a table. Sitting is comfortable and cozy. Menu is elaborate offering Indian, Chinese, Continental dishes. Order of Chicken Chilly Garlic Kebab, Mutton Shahi Korma, Sookhi Subzi with assorted breads were just perfect. Meal was finished with hot gulab jamun and some vanilla ice cream. Would highly recommend for people visiting Allahabad.

The gate man responsible for reservations is extremely rude and obnoxious. Told us there is an hour long wait and called us in 10 mins after we left. Once we were back he made us wait for 2 hrs. He was spiteful enough to call in many people who came in much later. Had heard a lot about the place but our experience was completely destroyed thanks to Mr. Ritesh Gupta. Who by the way informed us that he has been in the industry for 22 years and can be found on google. Please hire responsibly next time.

One of the best and classy restaurant in prayag. Food is mildly spiced which is thums up for me. Every waiter is so decent. Both days during my stay I went there and Mr nizam served us with politeness and smile. Would definitely visit again whenever I will go to prayag.

It was a short trip in allahabad in 2017 my friend suggested me for El Chico . I ordered hear Roasted Chicken and A gravy Dish and I was amazed by The taste, That was Good and Authentic . Being a lucknowite i am the great lover non-veg . After my visit in allahabad i can say El Chico is a great Place to visit.

One of the first restaurants in Allahabad I had ever been too. A great and common place to meet up for lunch, situated in the hub of Civil Lines. <br/>The food took some time to be prepared, and the service was not quite as quick as it usually was. The food was average, with our favourite being the pineapple raita. <br/>Overall experience would be average, a little less than satisfactory.

I went to this place on 6th February, it was highly recommend by everyone who lives here or has visited the city. I ordered a chicken hot and sour soup and to my disgust there was a dead cockroach in the soup. The management took the soup away and apologized. But I'm shocked at the lack of hygiene , though they claim that batch of soup was thrown away , people had already consumed it and it's a serious health risk. I think this restaurant is in dire<br/>need of an inspection .

Heard a lot about this place.but the welcome I received the two times I decided to visit the place made me go back without ordering anything. It's not always about the food when you go to a restaurant. And making someone .we were made to move just because we don't fill the table with enough people felt unwelcome. Food may be great but if you don't feel welcome it doesn't matter.

What's better than a hot scrumptious lava cake in the heart of Autumn. El Chico Restaurant , has always been my personal favorite when it comes to desserts. They redefine quality in their own way, and what a way it is. The staff is as good as the food that they serve. The lava cake is freshly baked with a very appropriate blend of all the ingredients, and the lack of any peculiar aftertaste proves the fact. The price is more nominal as and when compared to that of other famous places. Highly recommended.

Though the quality of service has deteriorated in the past few years, the quality of food still remains top notch.<br/><br/>Description:<br/><br/>1. Pina Colada, Virgin Mojito and Cream of Tomato Soup: The drinks were refreshing and the soup was extremely rich.<br/><br/>2. Fish Fingers: Though served fresh, the coating could have been crispier. The dish was decent.<br/><br/>3. Great Cottage Cheese Steak Sizzler and Grilled Minced Chicken Sizzlers- Both the sizzlers were equally good. The vegetables were cooked to perfection and the sauce was delicious. The protein in both the chicken/cottage cheese was also tasty and well cooked. Must try!<br/><br/>4. Chocolate Indulgence- The dessert was a hit! Must try! Just a tiny qualm with the brownie was that it had turned a little hard when it was served.<br/><br/>5. Mixed Meat Fried Rice- This is another dish which we highly recommend. The dish had chicken, mutton and eggs as suggested by the name. Personally, felt that the dish was on the blander side, but mostly because the fried rice was plain and did not have any added sauces.<br/><br/>This place also offers complimentary breadsticks and dinner rolls. This is an extremely over hyped place in Allahabad. It may used to be good earlier (as I'm an outsider) but now it's not worth a visit. The food here is just okay but the staff is pathetic. The person who was taking order placed order of the food we didn't ordered. In spite of this he was rude. I would have dealt with him in a different way but didn't wanted to spoil our evening. Non-courtious staff. Furniture is not properly maintained. Never going to visit this place again.

Most famous place 6-7 years back when I visited there as there were not many options, much hyped place for me the sitting area was so small for a restaurant. Food they served was below average and staff was not good.

I 1st visited this restaurent with my family.. I had cold coffee and pasta with arabiata sauce n it was sooo delicious that I cant even xpress.. I just loved it

You had Maa k haath ki Roti. You had Dhaabe de naal di Roti. You had all sorts of Roti. But nothing will stand in front of El Chico's Roti. This one item, overshadows every other lacuna they have. The taste of Roti, where you get to enjoy each an every bit of cereal in it. Aptly cooked. Neither burned nor uncooked. This one item simplely makes me give the extra star.

This place was one of my fav place but when recently after a long gap in visited again I was shocked to find the quality of food is not as it was before... I request the management to improve n maintain the age old legacy of serving good food.

This is a very old restaurant located on 1st floor in Civil Lines area of Allahabad. An Indian version has also cropped on the ground floor but this review is about the one on the first floor. The decor is unusual and inviting. They serve typical European style dishes and within reasonable price. One has to though wait a bit longer because they make from scratch but the wait is worth it.

I don't know why this restaurant is rated high. Food was shit. Didn't like pasta (all types). Over hyped. Not at all value for money. Ambience was also not that great.

One of the worst food was severed here, with very high price.. Never ever go to this.. Its waste of money and time. All the food they have served have no taste.. Great ambience but bad service with overpriced food that too not so tasty. For me it was waste of money.Biryani was just ordinary wasn't that good.

Recently, the service has detoriated. We were asked to change the table 3 times. They made us wait for food for an hour and then, forgot half of our order. The Server, Imran was not interested in taking or serving our order and when we informed him that our order is still incomplete, he started fighting with the waiter and us, that the missing dish was never mentioned. We had reminded him 3 times before, of the order.<br/><br/>We have been visiting this place since childhood and, it sad to see such pathetic and irresponsible management of this place.

A bit pricey place.<br/>Good for Brunch, Lunch and Dinner.<br/>We tried Hot 'n' Sour Soup which was more like Veg. Clear Soup. Then we had Masala Omelette Curry and Roti. Everything costed us good 600 bucks, which I think a bit overpriced<br/>Ambience is good and they are located in centralised area of Allahabad, called M.G.Road.

I love this place since ages and ages and would certainly revise my review when they get back to maintaining what their quality has always been. I have given them a chance several times now before reviewing. Been a fan of their butter chicken + russian salad but now their butter chicken is not always consistent. It often tastes very different or not nice at all - you won't even call it a butter chicken on those days and I'd make much better at home. But their original taste is more than awesome if they maintain. Especially on festival days or weekends, it would usually not taste great. Week days and less rush hours, they still manage. Not sure it they changed their chef etc. But its happened with other dishes too. I love you guys and i really hope you go back to where you are meant to. All the best and hope to see you soon with an improvement. Before reviewing, i have given it time so see if it was just once in a blue moon experience but it unfortunately wasn't.

Have been there for the meetup with some old. Clg friend. I think Elchico is one the oldest and best cafe in the Allahabad . They are recently renovated its seating.Price are very budget friendly in the menu and Cappuccino and Kitkat shakes was also good. I will suggest if anyone is in Allahabad come here and try his cuisien.

This is my all time favorite restaurant of Allahabad. Have been coming here as a kid and happy to see they maintained the standards and quality. Look forward to come back here again

Like each time, the food was exceptionally good. The sizzler was as good as in the bestest diner anywhere. The biryani, dal, rotis, noodles, virtually all popular types of cuisine were ordered. And each was awesome. One area where I think they might want to improve in: they should train their waiters to be more professional. I have no complaints though, as they were quite polite.

This is one of the oldest and finest restaurants in allahabad. Undoubtedly, El Chico is a bit overrated in matter of its price. It has a classy ambience with a good crowd as and offcourse some taste.
