There are many STAR Biryani outlets before Ambur and in Ambur.
But if you want to taste the best one do check out this one. My all time favourite specially we drive from Bangalore just to have this Biryani. It's worth and taste is just amazing! You can Google Ziya Shoes & Accessories it's right next to it. They are authentic and worth a try!
First and foremost, the aroma of the Ambur Chicken Biryani is absolutely captivating.
Moving on to the taste, I was blown away by the harmonious blend of flavors in each bite.
The result is a biryani with distinct grains of rice and perfectly cooked, juicy chicken.
Portion sizes are generous, making it perfect for sharing with family or friends.
Overall, Ambur Chicken Biryani is a culinary masterpiece that showcases the expertise and passion of the Ambur region's culinary heritage.
Today we took a small trip to ambur to have its briyani. The star briyani over here is very old and the service they provided was quick. The place is fully packed so if you guys want a seat better go early ✌️. They are using jeera rice instead of basmati rice which is very good and healthy also. They used mild spice and a good aroma , The meat was tender. On the whole we had a good feast. We appreciate the good food team. Please visit the old briyani place .
If you would like to have good biriyani with there own flavour and without any additional colours and masala you can try here. If you want to enjoy the ambient like that this is not the place then you can have take away. But if would like to the hot biriyani then we need dine there. There pieces are cooked will and it gells will with the biriyani. Nice halwa, brinjal and ritha. One of the oldest and best biriyani in Ambur. 🤤😋
Nice place to eat food
. The chicken fried rice it's Delicious to eat..worth of money..and good kind service in there ✨
Tried their mutton Biriyani & chicken fry. The best star Biriyani outlet I ever tried without a question. Taste was phenomenal.
No parking space, not so hygienic interiors. So taking away 1 star.
Ambur Mandi and Biriyani is a good place to have traditional Mandi and Biriyani. Taste is good. Chicken tantoori and chicken 65 also good. They can keep the place in a better way . Rest room is not that much expected. It is situated near Ambur bus station and on the Chennai-Bangalore highway. Mandi is having real authentic taste. You can go there with your family and friends there.

All those who are travelling via Ambur , a must visit place . This shop is right opposite to the Ambur railway station. (There are so many other star biriyani restaurants near this place ,make sure you visit this one as this is the authentic place )
Good food. Ask for a lemon piece and just taste their biriyani with lime juice squeezed .. it's so good that one may not need the as usual raitha.
Another must try dish is mutton paaya fry which is heaven for our taste buds.
The waiters are all very pleasant and very much present to serve us . The restaurant may look a bit crowded but they have enough space to accommodate people inside.
It's 5 star for this
We drove from Bangalore to taste authentic Ambur biriyani and the drive was completely worth it! Melt in the mouth mutton and taste was amazing... Chicken biriyani was also good... If you are expecting something similar to hyderabadi biryani, you might be disappointed... It has much less masala but the taste is spot on... 250 for mutton and 150 for chicken biriyani... We took take away and had it in our car... Definitely recommended! There are so many same named restaurants back to back and Google saying "low accuracy" for location doesn't help... But glad that I ended up at the correct one.
Visited the place couple of days before New year 2023.
The same old usual delicious tasting Mutton Briyani. Never disappointing taste. The final touch of phirni was awesome.
Felt starters were little over priced.

The ambur star biryani is definitely worth the hype. Jeera samba rice cooked to perfection with the mutton is a heavenly taste that only your tongue can describe after the biryani melts on your mouth and slides it's way to you tummy.
A definitely recommended dish!
FYI, it's briyani not biryani 😋 and mutton is the must taste option with the crispy and spicy chicken 65
Recently had Mutton Biryani and Chicken 65 in this original Ambur Star Biryani. This place was small with less seating capacity. We went there by 3.30 pm but still they had a new Deksa full of Biryani which as still hot. As expected Biryani was awesome and mutton pieces were cooked to the fullest and juicy. Chicken 65 pieces is boneless, tasty and spicy. It goes well with Biryani. Must try if you are in this region. Its location is in Highway itself. Easy to spot.
Always a pit stop to have some biryani here.
Taste has been maintained over the years but quantity has definitely reduced substantially.
We tried the mutton soup and it was so delicious that we had another serving as well.
Biryani was fantastic as usual. Very quick service.
The menu options are an excellent value. We went around 6:50pm and they were so many cars at this place waiting to be served one of the best biryanis in the town. The dining experience overall is very pleasant. I highly recommend this restaurant.
Very tasty and authentic Ambur biryani. It was established in 1890. Food is really worth the rate. At times parking is really conjusted. The prices are updated. Everything they use there is branded including water bottles, packing tapes, and even small packets in which the mouth fresheners come. It makes the experience little premium
Ambiance is good compared to the past. Food tastes the same. Mutton biryani is highly recommended.
Biriyani was awesome, no much of masala, looks like a plain rice, but when you eat you get the taste and aroma. I recommend this place.
