The restaurant was amazing taste was good and hospitality of ms. Roop and Ravi was very polite and professional. Wagah border my one of the best experience.
Visiting the Atari - Wagah border should be on your to do list if you are visiting Amritsar. It's about a 45 minutes car drive from the main city. If you are driving there for the first time and depending on Google Maps, kindly type Atari and not wagah to take you through the fastest and best route. Things to remember: carry an identity card (they usually don't ask for one but it's good to have it on you, just in case) , Ladies-handbags are not allowed so make sure you don't carry one , try to be there at least by 2 pm to stand in line, cause it gets really very crowded and the seats fill up real quick, take care of your kids and your belongings , as its really very crowded. The best way to enjoy is to get a VIP pass. You sit real close to the gates and hence get a better view of the entire ceremony. The ceremony starts by 5pm sharp. They start by playing patriotic songs. Sometimes they call kids and women to dance and to wave huge flags. The ceremony ends with the flag being brought down and the gates close. Snacks and water are available to buy in the stands. There is a toilet in the parking as well as the center, though they aren't that clean.
Beautiful experience. A must visit place for every Indian. The energy, the feeling, the emotions, the atmosphere, everything was so powerful at this place. Do not miss the evening ceremony and please ensure to be seated inside before 4:00 PM, else you might end up standing somewhere with a poor view till 6:00 PM. In order to get a seat by 4:00 PM, you must reach the entrance gate atleast 30-45 minutes prior to that. And do not carry any bag with you.
Had the unexpected pleasure of attending the flag lowering ceremony here with several Indian friends while on an Intrepid Travel tour. The patriotic spirit was contagious and we were all caught up in it. The sergeant at arms acted like a cheerleader and revved up the crowd. It was great fun to watch all the people cheering. Impressive turbans on the soldiers.
Overall Experience: 5/5
Atmosphere: 5/5
Harte manpreet was a really good service, quick fast and attentive. Atmosphere is clean and comfortable. Food can be improved in taste. But buffet value is there.
