Review Crystal Restaurant - Amritsar

Qais Akhtar
Ambience is amazing, service is great, but place is ultra expensive. One of the best restaurants in Amritsar, the interiors, food and the overall ambience is very good. The staff are courteous. From the road the one on the right side is the original and the similar named on the left side seemed to be a bogus one. The taste and quality of the food was awesome. The price is on a higher side for almost all items. The service of the staff is truly exceptional.

The food is great. As soon as you land to amritsar, I suggest you go to Crystal Cafe it's just near the road. Its a fine dine restaurant with great service. The reshaping kebab is sth you should not miss. Its good beside that plz go with your instinct on which food you want last time I visit3d this place ordered some sandwhich which was a chap guys plz don't do that. But beside that if you want to sit enjoy the chill ac and the food. This is a Great place, I wish this place had some good music.

Food was good, but very expensive. Service was really slow.

Family resturant Crystal Amritsar's Thread Paneer starter was a delightful experience with tender, flavorful paneer covered with crispy threads. The sweet vinegar and garlic sauces added a perfect balance of flavors. A must-try dish at one of Amritsar's oldest and most renowned restaurants. Things you can order in - Starters thread paneer , - main course - manchurian and Hakka noddles , garlic naan -Dessert : vanilla softy

One of the best restaurants in Amritsar, the interiors, food and the overall ambience is very good. The staff are courteous. From the road the one on the right side is the original and the similar named on the left side seemed to be a bogus one. Highly recommended.

Heard about this place from a lot of people and on youtube, and it is exactly as they say! It's an old fashioned fine diner with authentic taste amritsari taste at ground floor! Amritsari fish, tawa paneer, rogan josh is their signature dishes and a must-have!
Himanshu Upadhyay
This is one of the oldest fine-dining places in the city which serves a combination of good food and ambience. The non-veg dishes here taste better than their vegetarian preparations (that's my opinion). The service is a bit slow but I guess that's okay considering they're being double sure about everything before getting a dish out of their kitchen. The Rara Chicken is probably their best and is lip-smacking. The place is premium so it's a little on the costlier side. This makes the place a bit less popular because the locals prefer eating elsewhere. Its mostly frequented by tourists like us. Nothing is really out of the box which deserves a special mention. Everything is just as how you expect it to be at a fine dining place.

Just awesome food with lovely ambiance 😋

Crystal Restaurant is a great place for casual dining. The restaurant has a cozy and welcoming atmosphere with friendly staff. The food is delicious, and the menu offers a variety of options to choose from. The prices are reasonable, and the portions are generous. Whether you're looking for a quick bite or a full meal, Crystal Restaurant is a great choice. Highly recommended!

Crystal reminds of Kolkata based Park street restaurants slightly Anglo indian and catering to foreign tourists. The menu has Continental, Italian as well as Indian but I decided to stick to indian food. The chicken tikka and amritsari fish was good but mutton biryani was average.I was told by my driver that this is the place where locals go but frankly I would have preferred some dhabba food.

Very good location... Little confused abot which is real Crystal Restaurant. Food is not so very tasty.. ok type. Service is very slow.
Hemal M Patel
prices to high and quantity less.....there are lot many other restaurants who gave best food compares to this. if you are traveler better to visit famous Dhaba which are there near by Temple.

Delicious Food! A must place for foodies. I tried Paneer butter masala and mushroom chilli dish in main course. In snacks, I had my favourite chispys.

It's portrayed to be the standards of Bukhara of Delhi, Their prices are also Bukhara type for a city like Amritsar where there are restaurants serving superb quality food at much reasonable rates. What you get in return is the most substandard food in the whole of Amritsar. They serve the worst Amritsari Kulcha and the quantity of items served is very less for the price charged. It was the worst experience of my trip to Amritsar and I am not going to this restaurant ever and urge people going to Amritsar also not to go and waste your time and money. I assume they have a nexus with hotel operators and Auto/Cab guys, everyone seems to be talking about them only and would put their foot down saying everything else like Makhan, Bira, Charming etc will have a long waiting time and their food quality has gone down etc. Don't take their words, it is just negative propaganda and nothing else. One piece of advice to Crystal, I know they won't care. Try winning customers by serving good food rather than indulging in cheap and fraudulent business practices.

Nice place and delicious food perfect for diner

One of the worst service I’ve seen to the customer who’s been visiting since 9 years to this place and that also not from new staff .Im disheartened on Birthday .

I am from New Delhi. We ordered kulcha and discovered hair in it. So waiter started saying that it may be due to your hairfall. We then ignore this. Again we ordered Roti then again discover hair wrapped around it. Now I showed him as he has just kept the plate of it. Then finally he admitted. I just went out of hotel without having food and paid the bill. They also charge us with full amount. They spoiled our 31st December. What I understand that they don't respect the customer. They only know how to charge customer high. Poor service and no customer satisfaction. I don't know why Amritsar people like it too much. New Delhi low class restaurant is far better than this crystal restaurant. I would suggest that one should go on your own risk as they don't believe in customer satisfaction.

Very nice eating place with good ambiance , the best picks are butter Chicken & Keema nan .....

In a city steeped in tradition, from its historic buildings to the commercial activities, there is only one family owned restaurant that has endured for 80 incredible, edible years. Crystal Restaurant opened its doors in Amritsar in 1935. Crystal’s authentic brand of multi cuisine cooking became a staple in the city, and has continued in their tradition spanning more than three generations. Crystal has also served many beloved stars from Bollywood, sports, business and society. Today, Crystal has remained an iconic family owned and operated business, where friends regularly come to enjoy tasty sumptuous meals, celebrate a special occasion or share in a romantic evening out in our cozy, inviting restaurant & lounge. The sophisticated yet intimate ambience is just a prelude to the pleasures of the exquisite cuisine complimented by extensive and carefully selected wine cellar.

Wonderful experience in Crystal i think one of the best place to get together
Chandni Mehra
The most charming thing about this restaurant is it's "untouched setting" over the ages and regardless of this fact, it's fully packed even today. Was reminiscing my childhood days last night!
Salim Rajan
Very expensive and mediocre food. There are better choices around.
Goldie Bhalla
It is just hyped, the restaurant is not worth trying even once.

Sorry to say but the food quality was very poor on one hand the order was not correct and on the other hand chinese food was a total let down it lacked flavor very very disappointed hope you guys do something about this

I ordered for thread panner and they called me that they does not have that item, then I told them to replace that with kung pow panner then they told me that they will do that. After 10-15 mins a person again calls and tell that they don't have that also, then I told him to do anything which is nice. When I received the order one of the item was only missing when it got delivered. Then I called the restaurant guy who called me to change the item in the order and I told him that I have not got a item in the order and the guy says that he forgot to send that item and tells me that eat the items which you have got and will send the remaining item tomorrow😑😑😑. The items which I received also didn't have any of the zomato tapes also. The quantity of panner the send was or 500 and the quantity was just have the box and that cannot be eaten by 2 people also. I ordered for triple combination and they sent me chopsy. The taste of the food was also hopeless and disgusting😝😝😝.

This restaurant serves really good punjabi food . The food is tasty ambience is also good and service and staff is also great

This was the time when I visited Amritsar. I went to this fine restraunt Crystal. Fine ambiance and good seating arrangement. I ordered Punjabi own daal makhani, tomato soup and tawa chicken. I must say, daalnmakhani was so rejuvenating, one could ever had. The typical punjabi style spices and taste was completely worth having. I also had tawa chicken finest of all. Never had this fine chicken anywhere. Perfect blend of spices and soft delicious chicken in thick curry.

Perfect place for lunch with family. Worth spending on food.
Gsmcare442
The taste was ridiculous lots 700 rs for useless food

The place is 5-10 minutes from the railway station.
The fall ceiling, mirror lined walls, furniture n the beautiful white walls highlight the fresh n modern style of this place.

Ambience ✔️
Staff ✔️
Restrooms ✔️
Service ✔️

Coming to the food-
I ordered .Paneer Tawa frontier with Garlic naan.
It was flavorsome, highlighting the Mughlai taste in it. The quantity was enough for 3-4 people. It was a bit overpriced, that's the only snag for me !
The cab driver took us to this place in what seems like a set-up with the local drivers. We were running late and so landed at this restaurant. It is an extremely ill managed place. We waited for almost 20 minutes before someone cleaned up the table for us and then another 50 minutes before the food finally arrived. The cleanliness is not good as the plates and cutlery were dirty. They don’t even ask for water when someone arrives. The food is overly priced and of average taste for a place which is overhyped. Overall, pathetic experience. Will not recommend at all.
Manish Rijhwani
Over hyped restaurant in Amritsar. Over costly and. Portion size is very small.. Ordered Tandoori fish and they server just 2 pieces. Then ordered biryani which was again not sufficient for even 1 person. They have huge fleet of waiters who are not even aware about the dishes. They were not courteous enough to even serve food. Dhaba waiters are much better and courteous.
Ashutosh Jadhav
Overhyped place...too expensive compared to their food quantity...very poor service...Rickshaw driver forced us to go to Crystal for his commission. This is sheer scandal to loot people
Deven Parulekar
I got down from Golden Temple and every Rickshawwala when asked about food had a single Recommendation "Crystal".
We urged our rick guy to take to Beera and then he started saying shit about Bira and forced us to go to Crystal !
We later got to know he gets 10% commission on the bill we have.
Now lets talk about the hotel :
With Price Tag the hotel serves food with portion equivalent to 1 person.
We 4 ppl who had nonveg had to pay 3.6k and were still hungry !
So plz dont get into this Crystal Scandal !
Sanjay Kumar Chhibber
Best Indian continental and Chinese food restaurant in town . Very nice ambiance and good service. Quality of ingredients used are the best.
Sandeep Brar
Very good food served with smile specly butter chicken it's awesome taste the onwer of restaurants is very nice person they click our pictures after dinner it's amazing taste of food.
Monika
We can’t explain the nightmare that we went through here. Really rude staff with less than average over priced food and 1 hour wait for our table to be covered with a cloth. Over hyped place spoiled our last night in Amritsar
Saurabh Sharma
Nice food .local high class Amritsari ppl come here to dine. Little expensive and small tandoori roti 😊. Quick service and nice ambience.....
Yash Shah
The ambience is good. The food was ok, the main problem with the place is the service. Service is extremely slow and the servers are not intrested. You need to call them repeatedly to place an order.
Shweta Rohira
A simple and a nice dining place the chicken tikka masala and the chicken tawa masala is super yum compliment it with Churi naan it’s sweet but goes perfect with ur sabzi and with all of this the masala papad is a must
Palak Bhalla
Ambience is really good . Food is finger licking . A very classy place .
And also the service is also good. The standard has not declined over the years.
Mannat Sekhon
This place actually lived up to all the good reviews I ever heard about it. Being one of Amritsar’s oldest restaurant, these guys have managed to maintain their food quality and standards up to the mark. I have been happy with my order everytime they deliver and their Chinese food I feel one can never go wrong with.
So if looking for a safe option and yummy indian Chinese food , this place is it .
Geeta Hansaria
My daughter was craving for veg Manchow soup during our recent visit to Amritsar and someone had mentioned Crystal to us. We were full from trying street food and didn’t order anything else except the soup and it was very nice. The service was prompt and the place was old world charm ambience and comfy. Wish I could have tried something else too.

We visit this restaurant everytime we're ain Amritsar. It is like a ritual to have at least one dinner here. Food is delectable, service is great. Biryani and Dal Makhani are my favorite from this place.
Iisha9090
Not a good idea experience. staff was cooperative however food was not value of money. Overpriced place. I reached Amritsar today and my husband took me here with lot of zeal and enthusiasm however the taste wasn’t as good as he told me . Butter chicken was below average and so was rice and chilly chicken(basic) I wouldn’t personally recommend .
Simrat
Very poor quality of food. I don't know why u deliver online on the sake of quality. It's really shameful. I was surprised to taste paneer butter masala.
Sourabh Jaju
Ordered butter chicken , got stale chicken and onions . Expensive and quality of food not up to the mark , really had high expectations but food was very disappointing
Swati Jagotra
I went for the second time here... And must say...what a dinner!!! We ordered mutton Rogan josh, fish tandoorik tikka, murgh dum biryani and it all was just mouth watering!!! Prepration of fish tikka was too good!!! Go for it guys!!
Shweta Bhat
This place is definitely overrated. Food was strictly ok. Paneer wasn't soft and lassi wasn't good either. Didn't live up to amritsari food standards for me.
Abbas Pansary
Great Ambiance

Mediocre food - Amritsari fish tastes bland, over oily and overcooked, The specialities are also nothing special.

Good service - very responsive, well versed and friendly staff

EXTREMELY EXPENSIVE FOR NO GOOD REASON
Vishwanath Parab
wonderful place to taste punjabi cuisine ..lovery music ...and ambience ..( only negative point is its overpriced )...there are two identical restaurants with same name ...just beside each other ...............visit right side one
Kanav Bhatia
Highly overrated and over priced restaurant. When you will have a look the menu of this place, it's highly priced when compared to other famous restaurants in Amritsar.

Being a foodie, I look for cheap and the best places. And rather anyone will. A very simple tandoori chicken with nothing special will cost you 700 INR excluding taxes ! I would eat two plates of same tasting tandoori chicken at some other place instead.

Talking about the ambience. I won't deny to the fact but it's super awesome. The combination with blue is great. But ambience isn't what the customers pay for !

Incase you are roaming Amritsar and just want to explore this overrated place you should go here and just try a minimum of the food first. If you like the taste you may go for more. Just being economical.

Also,. I'm posting few of the pictures of this place. Visit my profile to have a look :)

One of my favourite place if go for yum taste. All varieties of food are good in quality and quantity.
Nice presentation. Good service. Yum food
Harneet Kaur Bhusari
Crystal is like a go to place for many as it's comparatively also closer to station so mostly people like to visit for their lunches before heading to station for their afternoon trains . Really like the food here, going on since years. Tawa chicken had my heart but couldn't click but another of my fav one here is Crispy chicken threads. These are basically chicken strips coated in vermicelli. Loved the texture taste everything
Sohail Chahal
I've been going to this place for the past 10 years quite frequently and till date I've never had a bad experience. They specialise in Indian and Chinese food. Their sizzlers are also very good. I strongly recommend this place 😀
Cooking chef is not that good.....
And service is not fine, all my taste same as low level cooking. ....all my review is true my visit and any first time in this restaurant no more
Prabhjinder Singh
Very average food but with lightening fast service. This place is overhyped & over expensive. We tried several starter dishes. Tandoori chicken which was below average and malai chicken tikka was good but chicken tikka was average again. Tandoori fish was disappointing. So in short this place is very good in service, but bad in food & very bad in pricing. After overcharging for everything they trained their waiters to ask for tips. You cannot resisted yourself from tipping as they’re good in service. Overall a big no no.

I actually forgot to post review. This review is when i last visited amritsar around month back.

Food-5/5
Service-4/5
Ambience-3.5/5
Just go for this restaurant after which the chowk is named. Had their amritsari chicken, keema naan, some chinese dish.
Everything was great. Keema naan was the best one i ever had.
Ravinder Singh Sawhney
Excellent place for foodies who can afford to pay more for quality food.. One of the oldest restaurant of Amritsar which started serving Chinese around eighties of last century... Today it is a full fledged multi cuisine restaurant serving delicacies from all over the world.. An ideal place for visitors to Amritsar... Must try once in order to get addicted to aroma of the food here...

Oops! What a mistake it was - I’m not done eating and thought it’s best to spend my time educating you all of the mistake I made.
I don’t know where to start from; it seems all the core ingredients of a restaurant the food, the pricing, the quantity all are competing with each other as to who’s worse from the other.
Ordered the Chicken Tawa frontier which was priced at some 450 + taxes for a single portion and the quantity was hardly enough to satisfy the hunger of 2 people; the chicken was under cooked and the flavours were not balanced. Basically think of it like A confused chicken bharta!
The other things we ordered were Dal Amritsar fry and Paneer Taka Tak (both priced around the sub 350 price point) be careful the menu uploaded here is wrong! The dal was a very poor rendition of the Delhi road style dhaba dry fry; which to my palette scores higher than what these guys created! And the Paneer seemed that it was cooked in tomato sauce. The only thing to rave about was the KF ultra I ordered and the nimbu paani my son ordered. Pls save yourself from going through this ordeal - especially cause you are in Amritsar!

Heard a lot about this restaurant so took a chance to visit it since I was in amritsar didnt have much time on my hand so went there for a quick meal ordered for the chicken amritsari 5/5 paneer taka tak 4/5 the keema paratha is to die for had some flavorful food after all the buttery food served out there...must visit this place..
Ambience 3.5/5
Service 4/5
Food 5/5
Vmf 3/5
Japnit
A restaurant in Amritsar which is generally liked by the foreigners as they get the perfect Indian food and the Indian Chinese food as they cannot digest the kulchas there as they are tooo spicy for them. A restaurant which has a very good ambience and the dal Makhani and triple schezwan is something to die for the taste is tooo good and if you go to crystal then definitely try the softy you get outside crystal
Richiemahendru11
Such a disgusting food I have ever had. I and my family came here specially to have dinner but it was not upto the point and quantity was so less even 5th class student can finish it alone .
Kapila
The ambience is beautiful specially the painting on the walls
The preparation was very good we had vegetarian biryani which was delicious and sandwiches and tandoori chicken
The service was wonderful
Still i think the prices are overrated

Very expensive restaurant as per kawality of food not worth to eat inside the restaurant very less space small tables no gravey in the diash.overall waisted money.

Being out of town for a trip is always nice and having a first out of town review for any place is way more special. My trip to Amritsar was indeed good and before i exited the city i had a chance of visiting this place which fell on my route just on the dinner time.
Crystal Restaurant is nothing ordinary place as you think its a fine diner with complete soft sofa sitting and beautiful interiors. i didn't had to look for their details over the internet as the house full crows was telling the story of the place itself.
We dined in and quickly the staff noticed us and attended us with the menu. We ordered quite a few items like Chicken Chowmien, Butter Nan, Keema, Chilly Chicken and steam rice.
Being away from Kolkata is so hard and missing Kolkata food was even harder, But after having a meal over here covered up a little and made me feel like kolkata. From the Chicken Chow to the Keema and nan everything was blended with perfect spices and tasted good but wasnt the charm that i was looking for. Still the dinner was a satisfactory one.
Note :- For the Budget oriented people do check the menu prices before you visit here, because prices are on a higher side.
(Piks coming soon)
Jasvinder Singh
Went there for dinner. I ordered Butter chicken with butter naan.
It was good. Served well. Naan should be improve. Some of the corners were black and bitter.
Butter chicken was in excess sweet but can do better.

One of the best restaurant for lunch & dinner , Great food , everything we ordered was lovely and served hot with a smile. The restaurant itself is bright and very interestingly made(interior) .

Highly recommend to people who loves freshly made food with lots of smile
Nehmat
Average ambience.good service.good food.ordered baked vegetable, garlic bread, chicken steak sizzler and virgin mojito.the food was good.chicken steak in particular was amazing!
Abhayjeet Singh
not at all 3.5 worthy. over rated. mutton and dal preparation was not good at all. service was not good too. avoid going. didn't enjoy food at all
Adp Prudhvi Raj
I m writing this review sitting in the restaurant. Food is not great, serving is really bad. I ordered Malai kofta described in menu that kofta will be with vegetables and nuts. Surprisingly they served me paneer kofta and argued with me it's Alu and nuts smashed and stuffed. Please be careful next time if anyone visit this place.
Vijay Mothukuri
Nice ambience but crowded always.been here with my friends and food was good when compared to other restaurants.non veg dishes r must try and amritsari fish u can give a try.lassi was out as it was diluted.prices r higher but taste wise I wud recommend everyone.
Pritpal Nagpal
Restaurant is nice
Can try once
We order paneer chilly
Chk chilly
Chk tawa frontier
Panner kadai
Quantity ok
Qually of food is very good
Ambiance is ok
But price of dishes are highly over priced
Sumedha Chaudhary
Old world charm!!

Many people recommended us to at-least have one meal and thus 15 of us landed there for Family Dinner. Must say food was yum and flavourful. Tried both veg and non veg menu options including continental. Everything on the menu tasted great and it's value for money pricing. Service is a bit slow but can be ignored. Restaurant is always full and you will have 10-15 mins waiting time.

Must dine if you are in Amritsar..
Beerandfishfries
1. Murg Tawa Frontier (It was a different preparation of Chicken, and it is their signature dish. The dish lived upto its name.)
2. Dal Makhani (One of the best dal makhani's I've ever had)
The food was great but the only problem was the attitude of the staff. After I was done eating I saw a cockroach on the table, and the staff seemed indifferent to the same.
Also, the food is on the expensive side and the restaurant is supposed to be a fancy one. Such a place having poor pest control services is just plain disappointing.
Shrishail Deshnur
Highly recommended by the cabbie for dinner and this place did not disappoint. Tried the quintessential butter chicken with butter roti. The food is yummy. The service is very good. Has a bit of waiting time but who would mind a bit of waiting time for good food?
Starsandfaith
To start with the location is excellent , ambience is nice, the staff courteous and efficient, prompt service and above all food was good 👍🏻
Snigdha Khanna
Crystal is one of the oldest multi cuisine restaurants in Amritsar. Having seen it over all these years, they haven't upgraded themselves even a tiny bit in terms of ambience, food, service etc. The ambience is still 1990's type with tables located too close to each other, one can actually hear what the other table is talking about.
There is nothing special about food, the flavours are basic, quality of ingredients they use are not too great either. The waiting time for dinner is approximately half an hour, but there is nothing special about the food to wait for so long.
To summon it up I would say it's a very basic average restaurant serving average tasting food.

P.S There are way more better places to eat in amritsar, then why to waste calories on this one.
My Plate Stories
Crystal Restaurant is one of the finest dining places in Amritsar . No Matter when you go , you are always welcome with delicious food . Starting with the starters I had Veg Exotica Sizzler . I must say they have one of the best Sizzlers in Amritsar. For main course I had Kadai Paneer and Butter Naan . It was also nice and yummy . So for good food , one can definitely go this place .
Swati Gupta
The ambience and location is good.the staff and service is also good. I loved the tandoori fish. very soft and fresh , must try. However the tandoori chicken was not as good.It was over cooked and was little chewy. It's a good place I'd you want to eat fish.

Aala food
Realy nice I love the food of this type I ll came there next with family hopefully they will also enjoy with food and taste of this restaurant....Haris H.singh0111s

By far the worst place i have ever been too . we went last weekend post Diwali and the place is overrated and has terrible service and the food is nothing to write home about .
The wait is abnoxious - they follow no system of allotting tables. it took us a 50 minute wait to get a table . Then 15 minutes to get the dirty table that we were allocated cleaned - by then we had lost all interest in the food . The butter chicken was ok - the chicken tikka and daal were average.the place is expensive and the ambience is pathetic .
would never recommend anyone to go there

ELSE... MY SISTER HAD A RECENT ACCIDENT WHERE SHE HURT FOOT AND USES CRUTCHES AND EVEN THOUGH WE WERE WAITING FOR 20 MINS WE FINALLY ARRANGED A CHAIR FOR HER AND THE INCOMPETENT STAFF TOOK 10 MINUTES TO CLEAN THE TABLE WE WERE SEATED ON AND THE NEXT 15 TO GET US A BOTTLED WATER AND 4 GLASSES. LONG AND SHORT OF THIS THAT IF YOU WANT TO LEAD A HAPPY LIFE DON'T COME HERE AND I FEEL THAT THIS PLACE IS SO DISORGANISED EVEN THOUGH THE OWNER SITS HERE AND THE MAIN ISSUE IS THE FACT THAT THEY DONT FOLLOW ANY NAME OR NUMBER SYSTEM AND OBVIOUSLY THE RESTAURANT CAN'T MANAGE EVEN A SINGLE PERSON ABOVE THIER CAPACITY......ANYWAY PLEASE DON'T COME HERE IF YOU EVER WANNA BE HAPPY.
THIS IS Niket Mehta
Signing Off.......

The front of the restaurant doesn't tell the full story - the interiors are way more slick thank the exteriors of the restaurant.

The seating is comfortable and the decoration is good, though with vintage touch. The service is great and the food is good.

The portions are large. Had their dal makhni, mixed veg, paneer lababdar and tandoori rotis. The food was just really yummy. Even when we were full, we kept reading the curries. Specially the paneer was great, so was their dal.
Anson Jacob Samuel
Had one of the worst experience here. It took them around 20 mins to allot us a table, another 30 minutes to serve the order. The whole service process was running at snail speed. Literally one of my friend had finished a round of sleep in between. We had ordered chicken reshmi kebab, chicken tikka masala, tandoori roti, paneer butter masala, butter naan. Taste was absolutely good and yummy. A huge thumbs up. But naan seemed to be smaller in size@.

The service side being absolutely poor, its a catch 69 scenario. I have seen people walking away due to delay in service.

Food: 4/5
Service: 0/5
Ambiance: 3/5

Overall: 3/5

It is famous nd fine dining place
The ambience amd staff is wonderful
I find it expensive
Its more pocket friendly to eat outside it
The crystal takeaway
(This is exclusively for my fellow students)
Subham Kumar
A bit highly priced but no excuses when it comes to Taste. Known for it's flavourful Biryanis, this place leaves little to leave your tastebuds satisfied!
Priya Parikh
Excellent vegetarian and non-vegetarian food, probably the best we had on our trip to Amritsar. Crystal has a HUGE menu and we actually ended up there a second time and had a totally different (and equally super) meal!

This is one of the best fine fine restaurants un Amritsar. Great food. Must try Murgh Patiala with Butter Naan.
Great service. Feel free to ask the waiter to recommend something. You won't regret it. The downtown location is an icing on the cake.
Do try this place. You'll bless me when you devour the delicious food here. Cheers!

Been there 4-5 months back with my family. Nice ambience of the restaurant.i heard alot about it. And the restaurant was upto my expectations.the food was very tasty. This restaurant in the vicinity of Amritsar is very good. One must visit there.
Neha Nagpal
We dined at Crystal for lunch during our brief stay at Amritsar. We ordered only vegetarian food as we had to head to the Gurudwara post that.
The food was delicious, the interiors were beautifully done up. The restaurant was quite empty with only two other tables occupied. It was a Wednesday afternoon.

Do stop by Crystal for authentic Punjabi cuisine. I highly recommend their Dal makhani with Lachcha paratha.
Anushka Pandey
Very nice ambiance and amazing service. Very polite and active waiters. Food was also amazing. Absolutely loved this place, should come here at least once.
Shivani Dayyala
It's an extremely fancy place. If you are ready to shell out good amount of money then you can visit this place. The food was tasty , no complaints but was a bit too expensive.
Ordered Mushroom chilli and fried rice. Not bad at all
Mathews K Thomas
Good non veg dishes
The chicken chef special was a delight.
Everything served in true Punjabi style. Enjoy the quality and quantity.
Definitely worth a visit.
Kunal
The restaurant is in a place which has 3 restaurants with the same name which can confuse a traveller. The restaurant serves all kinds of food but we ordered Punjabi cuisine which consisted of Chicken Reshmi Tikka, Patiala Paneer, Butter Chicken, Amritsari kulcha and naan. All the items tasted good however the Butter chicken could have been better and more authentic. The seating is too cramped which leads to no privacy for a group

Beside the famous different flavoured softies of the place , The resturant at the first floor is a worth to visit place . You might have to wait for your turn, But it's worth waiting for. Once you get on the table , you will realize how great the service is. And beautiful ambience adds icing to the cake. Try Patiala Chicken along with Chilly Chicken. The quick service and great taste at the great place is all what you need for a good evening. This place do it all.Enjoy with your friends/ Family..!

Being from Mumbai we had no idea about good restaurants in Amritsar and the localites suggested this one with great enthusiasm. I wish I had read it reviews here before visiting it. The ambience was ok ok with totally uninterested staff. We had to ask for water literally thrice and then we were served with basic need like water. We ordered Chinese(1 dish) tandoori (1 dish) and biryani (1), the quantity was very less and the price was double. This restaurant is charging almost double the actual amount for its food. Only for three dishes I had to spend 1560/- including taxes. I would have a grand dinner twice in such amount in Mumbai for 3.

Visit on your own risk guys as it will leave a big hole in your wallet and you will be paying for the not so worthy food and service.

We ordered Lamb chopsticks sizzler and the chopsticks were completely raw. Then ordered Chicken Tikka sizzler. The sizzler accompanied by boiled vegetables and French fries. We suggested the manager about the incomplete sizzler which should also have either rice or noodles and stuffed capsicum and cheese corns. But he was laughing at us as if we were some illiterate suggesting him something. It was quite humiliating. We had great expectations Bt it was all shattered. We had great sizzlers in Mumbai.

This place is good for food but awfully crowded.. u can't sit in a restaurant with ur elbow touching the other table. Should arrange for a better ambience

If you are someone who is visiting Amritsar,as a tourist; then please do not visit this place. We were taken to this place by an autorickshaw driver, and the ambience and the menu card were in itself a big putoff! Being from mumbai, i was more driven to eat the local punjabi food, rather than any multi-cuisine meal. So we just walked out of the restaurant, and went to have a great meal in 'punjab da dhaba' instead!

Having heard about the bes softies served here we decided to try it out...We ordered veg manchow soup along with chicken chowmein to go and had their mango strawberry and blue hawaii softies while waiting all of them were amazing and full of flavour!! However when we got back home and had their food all expectations were drowned.....charging us almost 400 rs just for one chowmein and two soups we expected it to be good but it wasn't the manchow soup tasted like some gravy they had served with extremely oily chopsuey and the chowmein was sooo bland and oily that we ended up throwing away both of the things! A big thumbs down from me....would only recommend it for the softies and nothing else!

We don't know if the chowk was names after the restaurant OR the restaurant after the chowk. The place is like any 90's era multi cuisine restaurant. The place was pretty empty for a lunch hour with just one more table occupied apart from ours but the positive side this is that my son got an open space to run around without any hinderance. The staff were also helpful and obliged by keeping an eye on my son while we enjoyed our meal.
After being done with all the parathas we decided to settle for our good old indian chinese food. We ordered for our comfort food Chicken Sweat corn Soup, Veg Manchow Soup, Veg Hakka noodles, Veg Schewan Rice and Fresh Lime Soda. Everything was just as it should taste nothing different or fancy but it was exactly what we were looking for at that time. We concluded our meal with their softy but they were nothing great we have had better in Mumbai.
The staff and service is like I mentioned in my other posts are very hospitable not only in this restaurant but everywhere around Amritsar.

One of the best places in amritsar to dine out . It is famous for almost any kind of cuisine . What i personally like is combination of tawa chicken and butter nan . You can also try brownie with hot chocolate in sweet dish.

Heading for lunch after a tiresome train journey we just walked in without any expectations!parents were in favour of something indian and me some sizzlers..here goes our orders, jeera rice accompanied with khyber chicken and a shaslik chicken sizzler!jeera rice had all the flavour packed in it but jeera in excess!khyber chicken had shredded succulent melt in mouth pieces in an awesome lipsmacking gravy..!sizzler was served on a bed of rice with stir fried veggies and fried potato wedges, rice was just plain but chicken chunks were great!ambience was good enough but too heavy on pocket!jeera rice costs 240!!!if u are up for some fine dining this is definitely going to be a good choice

This place has awesome softies! So many flavours and for just 25 or 20rs. Although we didnt go to the restaurant we had takeaway frm here. We had cheese fingers which were nice manchow soup which i didnt like at all. It was too salty and had no flavour and i dnt knw how it had too much oil in it! We also had chicken chowmein which i thought was nt worth at all for 140 rs! It was a lill stale and wasnt mixed properly too. The only reason i gave it three stars is for the softies they have. Do have the mango and twin ones. U can skip this place if u are visiting amritsar and shld go for the ones that are famous landmarks.

This place has that magnificent aura when you enter inside crystal restaurant .
Food is amazing and so is ambience.
But crystal does tests your patience because of slow service as it is freshly prepared which takes your precious time .
Good place to come and dine with your family and friends.

Do not know what the hype is all about.Went there for lunch ordered simple dal, palak paneer, raita with rotis which took about 25 minutes to arrive.Very expensive compare to all other contempories eating places. At the end when we were paying by card the server asked us to fill the amount and tip by ourselves which was very unusual. The servers look unintrested and fed up.

Crystal is an old restaurant in Amritsar which still has an old-fashioned feel. It is one of the more popular dine-in places which fills up to the brim at night. I wouldn't go as far as calling it a fine dine restaurant, but it sure is priced like that. If you're not the street food type and yet want to taste the authentic, much-hyped Amritsari cuisine, Crystal might be the place for you.

The menu has Indian/ Mughlai and Chinese options. I, incidentally, tried both. The Chinese preparations were toothsome. But what really take the cake are the tandoori preparations. The tandoori chicken was amazing and the Amritsari Tandoori Fish was even better. I have not tasted food like that anywhere.

It went really well till I found a disgusting hair in the last bit of my fish. The management wanted to hush it up and avoided a confrontation. The owner was at the cash register and constantly averted my gaze. And instead of an apology, the restaurant gave me a 15% discount to make up for ruining what would have been a memorable dinner.

Crystal has been able to maintain its standard pretty well over the years. Used to visit this place quite regularly with my family when I resided in Amritsar. Not just dine, but even if we wanted to get the food delivered or takeaway, Crystal used to be the first option. In addition to the amazing North Indian food, they serve delicious Chinese that you must try!

I've been there with high hopes but had the worst experience. First of all Manager made us sit on the table by the washroom even though there were plenty of tables available in the front. Furthermore, despite the fact that they only serve beers, couple of middle aged guys were drinking liquor from their own purchased bottle and the manager and waiter were kind enough to them by wrapping their glasses with tissues so others couldn't suspect them of drinking. But what about us, manager made us sit right next to them and we had to hear their blabbing and dirty abuses. The two of them drank whole 750ml bottle so you can understand how drunk they were. My question is who in right mind allow such nuisances in their restaurant when they claim it to be "FAMILY" restaurant, for us it was like sitting in road side dhaba where they let u have ur drink only difference is that they @don't charge u like 5* restaurant. The last but not the least is when I reported this to manager only after they left , instead of apologizing he denied of anything to do with it and even the waiter was lying to our faces that they were just having beers.... Seriously.....Think twice before going thr.
Amritsar is known for its street food and dhabas serving authentic Punjabi cuisine, but right in the middle of Amritsar on the edge queens road near the company garden is the only restaurant that serves the mughlai or Indian food as we most know it in style, i have been going to Amritsar since my childhood but have never found a decent place i could call a restaurant until i visited the "Crystal". the place was neat and clean and as i m told this is the old restaurant on the ground floor which has a jazzy twin on the first floor as well as the owners have split, nevertheless the food was fantastic and the service was very nice indeed, the crowd i suppose was the elite gentry of Amritsar.

i totally agree with the number #1 status that the restaurant hold on tripadvisor as it was actually the best i have ever visited in the city in the last 35 years and mind you i travel here every year and sometimes even twice a year

the butter chicken(4.5/5) is a must and so is the Dal makhani(4.5/5) along with their paranth and butter naan
, also the soups are brilliant. the interiors of the place was nice and it gave a very retro feel to the place
it is very easy to locate and a very cosy place to have dinner with the family

Wow you want the tandoori fish this is the place. Not had anything better anywhere else. This a place with a great Abilene. Seems really popular as the place was full and had people waiting there.
The ambience is very casual with portraits of old English culture which gives a feel of the old raj
Food is good. Tandoori chicken is great and the pudina paratha is good. What I really liked was the chicken Rarhra and the dal If you visit Amritsar want a decent ambience to have good no veg then this is the place to be

We visited this restaurant for dinner as we wanted to have Chinese food. We ordered sweet corn soup which was very very salty, we asked the steward to change it. He didn't even apologize just took n brought us the same soup adding water to it. The noodles/chowmein which we ordered was dripping in oil. The staff was only interested in serving some foreigners. They just get the food n bang it on the table. Chicken chilly which we ordered was very hard n smelly. Horrible food. I highly recommend to people who want to get their stomach upset should visit here.

Good food, reasonably good ambience too... Staffs are courteous, service is up to the mark. It might be the best place near the ASR railway station serving non- vegetarian food.
It's probably best to stick to Indian food though.

Just one word.. Food Heaven! The ambience is beautiful and the people are very sweet. They had some amazing food to serve us. Definitely try thread paneer in the starter section!!

High End restaurant in Amritsar ..
There are 2 of these owned by 2 different brothers.. But the first one which is closer to the softy joint is better..
Ambience is very nice.
Food quality is also very good..
Recommended for re-visiting also!!

Crystal Resturant's main forte is their Continental and Chinese food. The ambience is top class and service very prompt. Most exhaustive menu of Continental food in Amritsar. North Indian dishes are equally good too. Their softy is most famous in Amritsar. Parking is a big hassle always. But its surely worth the pain.
