Review Pal Dhaba - Amritsar

Sankar Manthiram
We had their renowned mutton paya, which was excellent. Even when served with tandoori roti, the paya was delicious since it was cooked so delicately. There was a generous portion of curry and paya on the single plate; it was enough for two. Old-fashioned non-vegetarian cuisine is served here. Both the staff and the service are welcoming. The mutton curries are somewhat expensive. While looking for great, spicy-prepared non-vegetarian meals in Amritsar, I heartily recommend this.

Pal da Dhaba is a very small hole in the wall. This place was recommended to me by a few locals in 2013 and since then I've never ever missed a single chance to visit it. Not at all upmarket or even basic setup , but the food served is phenomenal and typical dhaba style nonveg. Beautiful done dishes and very unique tastes. If you are hesitant to sit here, please get your stuff packed. Must try dishes Magaz Mutton Tikka Kharora Saag Meat Kaleji Keema Nan Prices are worth not very cheap but totally worthy.

This place is awesome for paratha. If you are in Amritsar and want to have some paratha and Lassi then this is the place where you find tasty paratha in cheap price. Taste according to price is quite genuine and loved the ambience also. Small hotel on the corner serving tasty food for those who don't want to spend high for food. I got the reasonable privlce and tasty food. Try here and I am sure u will also love it.

Pal da dhaba is the best place for non-veg lovers. The dhaba is very famous in amritsar as a lot of chefs and celebrities have visited this dhaba. This dhaba is old and authentic. Its specially famous for mutton tikka, keema naam, amritsari butter naan, chicken masala boneless, mutton masala and mutton curry. I tried mutton curry with amritsari butter naan with the toppings of sesame seeds. The quantity, quality and the taste was just great. I would definitely recommend this place to everyone. This place is near the hathi gate. You should visit here on the lunch time only as a lot of people drink here at night and the crowd at night is not good so i would recommend you to come here at the lunch time.

Located within the gated Amritsar this dhaba is serving since a long long time now. I personally like their Naan with sesame seeds ( Til wale Naan) the most. Served with butter chicken or chicken masala it will send you right into food coma. Apart from this combination, the rich 'khadoda soup' really stands out for me from the rest of the menu.

Even it looks small place food is good and tasty. For street food lovers its suits best. Mostly nonveg lovers they enjoyed alot.

Cool ambience for an outdoor dining option. Butter chicken is quite famous and tasty too.

Not a posh place.. But truly local dhaba looks like that of an ancient kind which has no connection with the evolved world. But, the food is just awesome. Be it Kharade Mutton (that's Paya), Mutton curry, butter chicken, tandoori chicken & the icing on the cake is the crunchy roti & naan. Recommended for authentic taste of Punjab.

After Surfing a lot on Internet, came to know about this Typical Dhaba in Amritsar. After reading lot of reviews, decided to visit this place. It’s a typical Dhaba, located near Hall Gate and 1 km from Golden Temple.
About the food, i just ordered the best dish they have and they served me Mutton Tikka Full plate with Plain Naan. Served very hot direct from Pan and even you can see in pic. Mutton was so soft and spicy too, usually it’s rare but they passed it with perfection. It was soft and easily melt in mouth. Naan was soft too and not that crispy.
Salad offered with Mint Pudina chutney, chutney was spicy.
I would love to try more disher from this place next time. But yes i am in love with this dish.

Ambience: 3 🌟
Location: 3 🌟
Taste : 4.5 🌟
Price : 3 🌟 ( Little Costly)
(Rs. 300/- for Mutton Tikka and Rs. 30 for Butter Naan)

I just wanna know who overhyped this place so much ? I basically belong to amritsar only and I was on a food spree to explore all the hidden gems of the old city. I have heard about this place from many many people but it is honesty not worth visiting anymore.

First, it's too small. You can barely sit comfortably. You've to share table at times. The staff is a little rude. No in hand menu. They have just put up a very old and unclear board on the wall. The service is slow. And it's definitely NOT for families to enjoy a meal.

We were two people and ordered - butter roti, butter chicken (half) and boneless chicken plate. Boneless chicken masala was still a good decision but going for butter chicken was our worst decision. It wasn't butter in chicken but chicken in butter. Taste was really a bad one and I was just to puke. We have to leave the meal. Disappointed. Not recommended.

Pal Dhaba has been my childhood favourite. Lachedar Naan is simply amazing. Chicken curry and Mutton tikka are delicious. must try for some desi food.

Old and famous taste of amritsar. Pal dhaba situated at Hathi gate amritsar . The taste of kharoras is never forgetable. It is rich in flavour.

A well known place in the old city near the Hathi Gate. This place is known for its Paya shorba. Its a very rustic place with limited seating but do not expect great hygiene and cleanliness here. You can try the Paya for sure and the chicken masala.

we had a taste of pal dhaba when we visted the Golden temple....the paya and magaz (brain curry) were both decent....the spices were a bit too much for us....there are hygiene issues as well...flavours were nice though

I went here to have the most heard khrode ka soup. It was the best i have ever had till now. Also ordered keema naan. It was bit spicy but crunchy from out and filled with minced meat inside.

The place is quite over hyped. The famous paaya had decent taste but not as good as advertised.

The keema naan were a major disappointment. There was no taste in the keema except sabut dhaniya. There were too many spices and sesame seeds splattered on top of it which was not adding to taste or asthetics.

It's a BYOB place with only a few tables to sit.

I was suggested to try the Mutton Paya at Pal da Dhaba.
We went there and were taken aback a little, as the food joint was a basic, modest looking dhaba.
We were a little sceptical about the quality of food and were silently praying that we don't fall sick the next day.
Much to my surprise, nothing happened to any of us and the Paya was amazing!
We also ordered chicken masala with some tandoori roti and salad.
It was a good meal before we headed to have Gian di Lassi.
Amritsar never fails to surprise us with it's delicious food and hospitality.
I visited the place for the Paya soup and came out fully satisfied. Unlike the paya that I have tasted till date paya @ pal da dhaba has a gravy consistency and is a meal in itself. I also tasted the Brain Masala . Go for Mutton Nan also . Overall a changa place
