Review Shudh Daba - Amritsar

Aakash Sonkusare
Food taste is good enough. Ambience is good and spacious too. Jallianwala baug and Golden temple is just beside this hotel, also hotel premise is decent.

The food is great. An extensive menu with delicacies from around the globe. Pocket friendly and quality of food is upto the mark as well.

Living in Amritsar for some time already and it is nice place with authentic food. The taste is surely more authentic than in other places.

Food is good and prices are not very high. It is near to Golden Temple. Large space. Staff is good and very supportive. Must try Lassi here

We had a selection of Punjabi food. It was very good. We wanted one of the breakfast dishes and, even though it was late afternoon, they agreed to make it for us. Good food and great service. A friendly place.

Food was good...could do better...paneer gravy was sweet...garlic naans had less garlic. Butter naans were crisp and nice. Over all ok. Fast service. Located just next to the golden temple complex near the parking lot. Ambience was not that great. Average bill came upto 1700 for 5 people with no soft drinks.can try once.

Nice Restaurant inside temple complex. Sarson da saag and Makke di roti was awesome.

Shudh Dhaba is a relatively new food spot in the Town hall area. Here you can get a lot of cuisines that you normally don't get at other Traditional dhabas in Amritsar.

The restaurant looks neat and clean. Service is good.

We tried the following things:-

1) Plain dosa - superb dosa. Reminded us of our city. Huge but so light!

2) Vegetable biryani - Very nice biryani. A refreshing change for tourists and very filling too. Full of Vegetables and paneer, it's a must try.

3) Achari Paneer tikka - Excellent chatpata paneer tikka. Very soft paneer and good salad served with it.

4) Paneer Kulcha - Kulchas here are superb. Soft inside, crispy outside. Yumminess of the butter that they put on the kulcha is something you won't dare to try outside of Amritsar. So surely try it here!

Overall definitely a good place to visit while in this city. 👍
Shudh restaurant has good North Indian food. You will get the taste of dhaba food here.

We tried a lot of dishes. The best was the special dhaba thali. It had dal Makhani, kadi pakora, amritsari chole, paneer makhanwala, raita, onion and papad, 2 paratha and gulab jamun. Everything tasted really good.

We also tried amritsari kulcha. The kulcha was crispy and filled with paneer. It was delicious.

The service was not at good. The person who took the order was very rude and didn't know how to handle customers.

We were there on our anniversary..ambience was good .. staff were nice and service was quick but food was average .. we had a thali there consist of 2 lachha paratha , bowl of shahi paneer (it was good) , amritsari chole, kadhi , dal makhani , raita and a piece of gulab jamun
Overall nice place 😊

Ambiance : 2/5
Food : 4/5
Service : 4/5
Cost : low to moderate
Situated near very beautiful and divine golden temple, this place serves all supergood punjabi dishes as well as some cousine from rest of india however being in punjab we should focus the relevant dishes. Chhole, parathe, rajma, kadhi .... All yumm. The team there was supportive enough that despite of us being 2 people, they asked us to just buy 1 thali and said we wont be able to finish 2. They were right. Keep space for having lassi too. Do have one meal here.
The Food Dynasty
Not as good as heard and famous like a restaurant. Everything is average and rates are on a higher side. Kitchen isn't look hygienic and clean. However, they prepare food in pure ghee.

They don't have varieties of option in the menu. I prefer Brothers dhaba near Town Hall.
Preetam Ghosh
Decent place to have dinner. Ambience is good but food is good if not great.

Mixed veg. 3/5
Shahi paneer 3/5
Stuffed kulcha 5/5
Chole 4/5
Garlic nan 2/5

Location is great can be easily spotted.
Dimitri From Khau Gali
Almost fed up eating kulcha's and punjabi cuisines. My Chinese cuisine craving took me there... So i looked up for shudh dhaba right in front of big statue... I order chilly garlic noodles, chilly potato, spring rolls.
Big space, venue is above average :- 4/5
Service:- 4/5
Besides spring rolls everything was perfect :-3/5
Value for money 5/5
Pocket friendly....
Do not order spring rolls.....
Gauravi Dhingra
Food court just outside the Temple Inn is a comfortable place to go to. Good food. Great ambience. Though, the service was not so quick and the staff was not so polite. We ordered Masala Dosa, Special Thali and Normal Thali. Dosa is definitely a must if you go there. Lives up to the taste.

Although town hall has a lot of outlets where one can have dinner; Shudh Restaurant is definitely amongst the best ones without a doubt.

I ordered a variety of dishes to test if they’re good in only North Indian food or not. Looks like they’ve passed the test with flying colors!

Kadhayi Paneer, Grilled Sandwich and Chilly Garlic Noodles tasted really good. The staff was courteous enough to adjust a few things & make some special changes in our order as per our preferences.

Overall, it was a nice experience at Shudh Restaurant.

Ratings -
Food : 4.5/5
Ambience : 4.5/5
Staff : 4/5

Absolutely recommended! 👍🏻

A place where you will find variety of delicious veg dishes.. I was having a very short time in my hand.. but the food caught my attention.. I ordered Masala dhosa, hakka chow and lassi... The lassi was much much better than the road side ones claiming to be punjabi lassi..but still i would not say it was the best of all.. i had Punjabi lassi before from a ordinary dhaba near chandigarh which was uncomarable to this.. so here you can order anything surely it will not disappoint you.. It's a good option from the other ones.

Located just outside the Golden temple... location itself is happening so is it's ambience
Large sitting space available with a warm welcome
It was crowded but luckily I got my seat..We ordered Fried Rice, Paneer Amritasari chole khulche, Daal makhani , kadai paneer and tandoori roti and Garlic Naan, Obviously Punjab di lassi too
Everything was so good and delicious that they doesn't need any explanation
Overall Trip to amritsar was successful and turn into memorable trip after having dinner in Shudh.
Staff here is smart and fast and very well behaved.
so Finally
Ambience 5/5
Food 5/5
Price 5/5
Staff 5/5
Would love to go there again..!!
Geetikabatra
Advantage of being near Golden Temple but food has no taste. Maida Roti was flavour less food. could have been avoided.

Roti was served half cooked .

Not enjoyed a lot. There are better dhabas near to this location . Should go there
Navjot Singh
Nice place with delicious food
We can get yummy tummy here with cool ambience..😊
Also have a great varity of food perfect punjabi chatkara taste..😊😊

Amritsar is a heaven for all foodies and this place has a lots of good stuff to offer. Try the different varieties of kulchas and you will fall in love with it.
Alefiya Bhiwandiwala
Great place. Very sweet staff. We had amritsari kulcha which was amazing and also had lassi which was yumm and thick and the way a punjabi lassi is supposed to be ♥Huzefa Patheria

You cannot go wrong with food while in Amritsar. I have dined a couple of times here and this happens to be one of my favourite dhabbas in Amritsar.

Recommendation:

Amritsari Kulcha loaded with dollops of butter with Chole, and tangy onion salad.

This restaurant also has a locational advantage of being in the route towards Golden Temple!

Don't forget appetising with a glass of Lassi
Abhinav Kumar
Good food with good staff and prices are also economical . the service is good also . Good family restaurant where u can have lunch and dinner at reasonable pricing.
Kumar Gandharv
The food was really good specially the chole. Had a good meal with the family . The staff was quite helpful. Looking forward to visit this place again on my next visit to amritsar

UNHYGENIC.. No cleanliness at all.. FOOD WAS SERVED IN BAD CONDITION.. However it was not like this before.. SHUDH name has been change to Punjabi Dhaba but they r misleading customers
Oshima Pahuja
Delicious amritsari kulcha. Paneer stuffed and aloo stuffed kulcha hot and crisp and yummy and great quantity. Just the chutney was a disappointment.
Monika
Damm bad only if you are damm hungry, tired and want to sit under ac. Uncooked noodles which after 1 bite had to cancel, half of the item in menu are unavailable and combos option are inappropriate. Overall i had a bad experience here.

We had our lunch at sudh dhaba..
Nice food.though the service is bit slow.this place could be more clean as they are in of the best locations. Near DARBAR SAHIB...
Dipu Chandran
Comparatively a clean restaurant with good food. They have a good reach in menu with South Indian, Pubjabi, English breakfast items and some Chinese items.
Divya Viswanath-Patel
Great authentic Punjabi food. We had a late craving and decided to order from here, was definitely worth it. We had our first shudh Punjabi khana experience here.

In brkfst had Chole kulcha...So heavy that we didn't had lunch neither dinner.. which was very good.. Overall experience good & mouth watering..

We ordered laccha paranthas here. the parantha was very soft and fresh. clean and neat place. very affordable prices.
must try this place.
Abhishek Sharma
We ordered laccha parantha, jeera rice, dal lakhani, mali kofta and stuff kulcha... The food was amazing and it was great option to have. The only one problem I found was the mode of payment I.e. cash only. 9therwise no issue. Great place to dine in.

A delight for all the vegans in the house! I'd suggest you visit in the morning and try out their breakfast menu and don't forget the moong dal halwa! Even if you visit later in the day, eat Indian because that's what they excel at.
Vishal Israni
I had been to this restaurant twice. The food was good specially stuffed kulcha. I ordered mixed vegetables, paneer tikka masala, pudhina paratha and lassi. The service was very friendly. Price wise it's good.
Shweta
On our way shifting Hotel from Mangal Singh Gali to Lawrence Road, we choose to have lunch at Shudh Restaurant. The chowk (Dharam Singh Market) where the restaurant situated is the last drop point whoever wants to visit Golden Temple area. Being its religious area, all restaurants serves Vegetarian food.

Food was good. They serves Punjabi, South Indian, Chinese, Italian as well.

We had veg spring roll, steamed momo's and veg fried rice. Taste like home made.
ApronDiaries Reviews
#aprondiaries

Have visited this restaurant around 6 months ago on a birthday with family. Really nice ambiance and quite sitting place, where waiters doesn't stand over your heads. staff is really helpful if you need anything special and food is really great at reasonable rates. If you like Dosa or idli, i would prefer this restaurant over other restaurant in neighborhood, tastewise good no where less than other popular Pure veg Joint, and way cheaper than that. i had honey chilli potato, tasted dosa, curd rice, Idli and Paneer curry, everything was yum, worth trying i would say.
Archana Singh
No salt and chillies in the food, lassi and tea were good enough. Nice ambience with good punjabi music. Being a punjabi this place turned down my expectaions

Before i came to this place i always thought that Bharawan Da Dhaba housed the best Amritsari Kulchas in town but this place totally changed my perspective.
Adjacent to the large parking lot for Darbar Sahib, this restaurant surely is capable to impress tourists in terms of food. The interiors of the restaurant is completely modern thus attracting a lot of foreigners.
Coming back to food, the menu is a mix of typical North Indian, South Indian, Chinese and Continental. The Amritsari kulchas were crisp to perfection served with authentic pindi chane and a tamarind water chutney that added to the deliciousness of the kulchas. Apart from the authentic Amritsari food, we also ordered chilli garlic noodles and rajma rice that also tasted quite well.
Well such amazing food isn't complete without a course of lip smacking desserts that included gulab jamuns, kulfi faluda and stick kulfi's in kesar, paan and anjeer flavours. The food here is totally value for money and i would completely recommend this to everyone who visits Amritsar.

Situated at one end of Golden Temple Parking, this little basically serves the tourists better. The prices are value for money. Place is satisfactorily clean and hygenic. Food is nothing extraordinary, but not that bad also. Service is very quick. Can be tried when in vicinity of Golden Temple as parking is no issue there.

Located right next to the Dharam Singh Market roundabout, Shudh is a place where you can go for a quick bite or a meal but can never expect to get any authentic places of the city. It offers most of the cuisines which attracts Tourists, like North Indian, Chinese, and also South Indian.

The quality and the taste of the food is just about average and can never compete with the flavour you would get at many other famous places in Amritsar. The prices are just about reasonable and are charged keeping in mind the ambiance and service they offer which are actually the two good points about the place.

Overall, Amritsar is a city you should visit to explore the local cuisine which you will find at hidden gems like Kesar Da Dhaba, Kanha Sweets, Beera Chicken, which although lack the ambiance of a restaurant and are difficult to access for everyone, have the best food and service in the entire city!!!
Vicky Mankotia
Food is average location is its advantage service is good in one word shudh restaurant is just overhyped there are many other good restaurant to visit
Kartik Bounthiyaal

Gagan Uppal
A restaurant with good ambience and food. Last to last time I visited the restaurant, the food was extraordinary, hence I could had given them a score of 4.5 but I was not on zomato. This time I visited the restaurant and Ordered same stuff palak paneer and lacha parountha. The quality is not as that was last time and also the prices went up. I will surely try same stuff once more and then conclude the rating of restaurant.
Sandeepak Chhatwal
Best place to have food with a very good ambience near Golden Temple. The tasty thali served with tempting dishes made totally punjabi style in a good presented Thali.
Keep it up MR SAMMY!!

Guneet Hungrykid Kaur
The ambience is way too beautiful!!! Good songs being played all the time!! The food and quantity is good!! Not very tasty but good! Like for example if its biryani, it can never taste like the real biryani but otherwise good flavours!!
Gaurav Poplani

Heard a lot about the place during my brief visit to Amritsar. I was expecting a lot but was bit disappointed when was unable to treat myself with Amritsari Kulcha's in Amritsar itself. Keeping that aside the ambiance was nice and food was fair.
Gurpreet Singh
The food was so delicious specially panner tikka masala was fab... Very reasonable also.. We are 4 people and bill was only 700/-.. Overall experience was good.... From my side i give 4.5 out of 5
Tarunpreet
Very nyc place for family dinners. Their pau bhaji is best. Price are nominal. Service good. Lack in quality of pizza and pasta. North Indian food is served according to time
Rajesh
Tried Spl thali, gulab jamun and pani puri.
While thali was good and gulab jamuns were excellent, the pani puri was not up to the mark. Service was OK but nothing great. Good food for the price
Jagchintan Kalra
Situated on ground floor of parking at town hall.

Ambience is great compared to its counterparts
Staff is very courteous barring a few
Food was fresh and tasted excellent and justified slightly higher prices

Negatives - menu is on paper and glasses used are disposable ones - you guys should think of upgrading that and doesnt go with fine dining that you are trying to offer
Should try if you are in and around GOLDEN TEMPLE
Hungry Horatio
Visited here as a tourist from GB - we were directed by our guide as a good place to eat. Good selection of standard Punjabi dishes (as well as some pasta and pizza- which we didn't try) -service was very quick and friendly, Several families in including a birthday party Slightly "fast food" feel to the decor and environment - overall a good meal served well.
Anshuman Goswamy
Decent food court if you wish to have food beyond famous kulchas and lassi. Nice decor but food is pretty average as compared to other outlets in amritsar.
