Review Angry Sardar Courtyard - Anjuna

Nice place for that serves decent North Indian food. The tandoori chicken wings are yum, also the dal makhani was delicious. The naans were a bit hard considering they were freshly made. Severs are friendly but they still need some way to go with customer service and they need to learn/know the correct body language when speaking to customers.

Very authentic food but the service could be better (a bit slow). I liked the Butter Chicken and Paneer, the roti/naan was also really good and crunchy. I really recommend this restaurant for the people who want to try the real, authentic taste of India <33

Best punjabi hotel found in Goa. 😀 Wanted to try this hotel for veg punjabi food from couple of years and got a chance to try their food now. We went there for brunch and tried there aloo paratha for our kid, which was liked by my daughter. We tried tandoori aloo paratha and amritsari chole kulche which was so good and mouth watering. The ambience and staff was good too. We will definitely visit again to try their nonveg food dishes. 😀

Angry Sardar Courtyard at Anjuna serves one of the finest North Indian style food. The flavor will take you in the Delhi dhaba mode. Dal makhni was creamy with each particle begin soft as it's well cooked, Paneer butter masala with tava/tandoori rotis was delicious with add-ons sirka pyaz and pudhina chutney. Ambience is unique with bar on top of truck base and dhaba style sitting along with colorful wall pictures. The atmosphere is amplified once the live singing and music starts. This place will stay forever with you once you leave Goa. Don't miss it. Service and parking could be improved.

Food is delicious, service is good but don’t come hungry as food takes up to 25mins even though the place was completely empty. They did have the cricket on and some music which was nice. Not a lot of parking but was really quiet so shouldn’t be an issue.

I went there for breakfast and ordered a Parantha. The best 150 odd rupees I have spent in Goa. Don't take my word for it, get your own Parantha!

Food is awesome. Prawn gravy is a must order. Overall whatever we ordered was really great. Fast and good services. Right by the sea hence, sunset times are good to enjoy there to see the setting sun and eat. After sunset it's a little dull.

I was very tired and hungry, and I was suggested Angry Sardar by local and it was super awesome restaurant, I ordered following dishes and they were good in taste. - Paneer Tikka masala - Butter Roti - Sweet Lassi Sweet Lassi was authentic Punjabi lassi unlike other Lassi which are just for named as Punjabi Lassi. Resto is quite cozy and gives good environment Service is quick once they know you have ordered 😅 Overall 5/5

Are you in Goa, craving for tasty and delicious food, then you can stop and give a try to this place. Right from people to place everything is too good. They serve right quality with quantity in bit high price however it's worthy. Location is nice with eye catching ambience with decent crowd. I have added couple of pics you might like and can relate what you are going to get. Don't forget hit LIKE in case you had same experience.

Excellent, unassuming and wonderful find. The service is unmatched and the ambience is Super Cool. The staff truly cares about your experience. They did an amazing job of describing anything on the menu. The menu is exhaustive and amazing – everything we tasted were just simply delicious. Absolutely the best meal we had while in Goa. Highly recommend! Do yourself a favor and visit this lovely restaurant in Anjuna. And don't forget to try Gulab Jamun with Rabri😋😋

I have become quite frequent to this place, love the chicken biriyani over here, utterly delicious and the quality of rice is too good. Recently they have decreased the portion size which isn’t nice so that’s why 4 stars. Chloe Külche platter is also way too delicious, quality of food is just spot on! I ll heavily recommend this place since it’s a perfect place to have North Indian delicacies for a decent price.

The Tingling Taste Buds
Angry Sardar is a charming North Indian themed eatery located along the by lanes of Anjuna that celebrates the Punjabi style with a modern twist and some peppy background music. They have a range of seating options to suit your preference.

We tried the following:

- Mocktails: Citric Acid Berry Splash, Basil Pineapple with Chilly

- Starters: Chicken Tikka, Chilli Paneer, Chilli Chicken

- Mains: Butter Chicken, Potato Cheese Balls in Palak Gravy, Butter Garlic Naan

- Dessert: Gajar Ka Halwa

We don't usually prefer drinks with strawberry or pineapple, but both these mocktails pleasantly surprised us. Refreshing and something different from the regular mocktails.

Perfectly marinated and beautifully cooked, the tikka was absolutely delicious. With around 6-7 pieces, the tikkas are served with two chutneys that compliment them really well. This was one of our favorite dishes! Paneer Chilli & Chicken Chilli are two classic Indo-Chinese dishes which had their flavour profiles on point. However the chicken was slightly overcooked for us and hence was a little dry. The paneer on the other hand was soft and perfectly cooked.

The butter chicken served here was yum. The chicken too was well cooked, but the quantity was quite less given the price. Something different than usual were the Potato Cheese Balls in Palak Gravy - two medium sized potato cheese balls cooked in a mildly flavored palak gravy. Not too spicy and easy on the palette. The soft and loaded butter garlic naan paired perfectly with the butter chicken. Unfotunately, being very dry and missing the texture and flavor it should have had, the Gajar Ka Halwa was a let down.

To know more, check out our Instagram posts

Part 1: instagram.com/p/B9bvSXSj-JG

Part 2: instagram.com/p/B9g12VFDTb0

This new Punjabi restaurant in town is SO Instagrammable!

I know that's not the first thing that comes to mind when you think 'Punjabi restaurant,' but it definitely is a beautiful open-air space! Apart from colourful seating and tiles, painted walls and beautiful chandeliers, it has a truck.... an actual truck... as the bar area to bring on those North Indian highway dhaba vibes. Turning down the volume of the Punjabi music would make it a bit more comfortable.

Food-wise, it was above average! I liked the chicken tikka and the cream-laden Butter Chicken better than the rest. Also, who can resist an absolutely perfect Butter Garlic Naan! The Mutton Seekh kebab could improve and there is a lot of scope to improve on the Gajar ka halwa. The mocktails are pretty delicious - I'd recommend 'Let The Sun Go Up'... it has fresh strawberries in every sip.
Angry Sardar has an extensive menu and I'll definitely hit it up to try out some more North Indian Delicacies. P.S. They also serve Chinese food, because of course, Chinese food has to be the second-favourite cuisine of the Punjabis ;)

My recent visit to Angry Sardar Courtyard was a fun filled experience. Although the main course could have been better, the starters were really good and the typical Punjabi vibes with that truck shaped bar, loud Punjabi music and vibrant ambiance made me feel nostalgic and gave me very Delhi like feels.

We tried the Chicken Tikka, Mutton Seekh Kebab and Chilly Chicken and all three of them were good. The Butter Chicken and Dal Makhani weren’t too great and I wish they were better, the chicken noodles were delicious and I would like to give the place a chance and recommend you doing the same.

They were charging 65+15%tax on bottled water marked rs.20. On asking about why this is and according to new govt rules, they aren't supposed to charge so, the owner literally came over the table to fight. He seemed more like a local goon. Also the serving of the pomfret which cost something around 800 was 1/3rd size of my palm. Taste wasn't bad but we had a very bad experience in the restaurant along with such less amt of food servings I would suggest go to oasis cafe which is nearby and very tasty food. We went there 4 times.. it was so good.. also opp. to oasis cafe another restaurant "country .."They also served good food

I usually don't put negative reviews for any restaurant, because I know what it takes to own and manage a restaurant. However, in case of Angry Sardar I am so disappointed and Angry that I just cannot let it go.

Please! Do not waste your hard earned money on this 'Flashy' good looking restaurant, which has absolutely no sense of hosplitality and food. What you'll be paying is for the ambiance & not the food.

We ordered Paneer Tikka and Chicken Do pyaza. Paneer tikka was smelling of Raw Mustard Oil (Sarso oil) and there was no trace of butter. When I asked the steward about he said that we use butter and gave a very cold response. Later, he came back and accepted that the chef had used Mustard oil. Issue was not the mustard oil, it was that the oil was uncooked and was stinking.

About Chicken Do Pyaza, It was below average. I was shocked that how could a restaurant like Angry Sardar can serve this. It was greasy and Chicken quality was terrible.

Above all, the management had the audacity of charging me Serving fee.

Overall, A terrible place with untrained staff, overpriced low quality food. I wish the owner gets to see this and fixes the food.

We ordered Chiken do pyaza, Paneer tikka and a beer.
It was very average, tasted like as if we were eating at a roadside dhaba.
And the panner tikka had sarso oil that We could taste.
I would have paid 3 times less and could have eaten at any dhaba, better then this place.

Yes, it got good looks.. but the food was very poor.

Great Indian Food and Beautiful interiors.

Must Try: Butter Chicken, Kadai Paneer, Mirchi parantha & aloo gobhi parantha.

They have live music too.

Good pick in Anjuna

We happened to visit this place during lunch hours on a New Year Day. It was very noticeable from the street and considering most of the restaurants were closed, it seemed like a nice option to try. The service was fairly good. We ordered a couple of beers, Classic Tandoori Chicken and Masala Papad. The Tandoori chicken priced at 435/- off the menu seemed slightly expensive but worth a special lunch out. One of the minor issues was with the very loud music which was not lowered despite a request to the server from our side. Seemed like it caters to tourists and keeps those preferences in mind.

The hassle we faced was with the cumulative bill which was addressed at approx INR 1750. Once we brought it to the server's attention, it took more than 20 min for him to come back and tell us that they had raised the prices for the 31st and the billing system was not rewired back to the regular prices. We were patient and asked for the real total so we could just pay. They said their cashier was on his way and we were not willing to wait. It had already been more than 40 min. The final bill came to INR 1100, almost INR 600 less than the original! We observed that some other tables, were not checking their bills, were not even being informed by the managers of this escalated price (assuming we were the first ones to bring this to their attention; which came off as pretty dishonest.)

Hopefully, these are managerial issues and not intentional. The food may be good and considering it is oriented towards the tourist sector, the prices seem just. Will not give this place a second chance because of this slighted experience.

On our trip to Goa we just happened to stop at this restaurant as the decor was unmissable - fresh, vibrant and spacious. The food is undeniable the best we've had in Goa - Prawns and the Tandoori Pomfret are a must try. Best part is the owner and his friends are all personally involved in serving and welcoming the guests along with the staff.
