Review Madhuban Restaurant - Aurangabad

Vijay Verghis
Madhuban offers breakfast with an average buffet options that does not stand out. While the menu isn't exceptional, it caters to basic tastes and does the job. Overall the food is good. The downside is the slightly slow service, which can be frustrating during busy hours. I am assuming this is probably because of breakfast and the lunch and dinner options will be better. Ambiance is good and prefer that they put some light music so we don’t hear our neighbours conversations. If they correct a few minor things which might not be any issue for many other guests they will get a 5 star rating from me.

Excellent Marathwada (we tried a besan curry with ragi rotis and a minced green chilli chutney) and average western dishes. The service was terrific, and the waiter served us our meal ahead of the opening time because we had a train to catch. The decor is a little sad, with very obviously unreal imitations of the Ellora sculptures and friezes, but the tables and chairs were clean and somewhat elegant. It is in the upmarket Rama International, a part of the ITC Welcomhotel group.

Food was good, albeit a bit on the expensive side but good enough to deserve the price tag. The cream of mushroom soup was the best thing and the Biryani was also not far behind. Service and ambience were up to the mark. We went with friends and it was a good time.

I have been there on my Birthday and tried Buffet. Their Items are limited compare to a 4 or 5 star hotel. Mutton kaleji, Grilled fish and desert was nice. It could have been much more better.

The food at Madhuban never disappoints. Specially the buffet spread. The staff and management are top notch and professional in their service. Definitely a place to recommend.

Excellent restaurant with very polite and couteous staff. Food was delicious! We stayed in Welcome hotel for 3 days and ate buffet dinner and breakfast in this restaurant. Every time the food was just too good!
5 stars.

The ambience and the ajantha sculptures well dignifies its 5star status. The kitchen is quite visible and the staff is quite courteous. They should noast some food fests and continue with some unique flavors from Ancient Aurangabad....

Ordered the Mutton Naan Khaliya (because I have come to aurangabad and had to order this dish) ... though the Naan and the curry was brilliant - the mutton pieces weren’t very great ... nor were marinated very well - on the plus side - one of the few places you can eat this dish

Complete sham of a place!!! Not worth to be called an ITC restaurant. The management needs to wake up and pull up their socks. Food here sucks...service is pathetically slow..... staff is rude....visited as part of my stay in the Hotel! Overpriced and overhyped place!! The worst managed ITC property ever!! Shame on you guys!!

What a shame food is....just unbelievably tasteless.... really.... wasn't expecting such food at Rama which is said to be one of the best hotels and run by ITC....

We took buffet but must say.... except Mutton Dum Biryani and Black sesame fish rest was tasteless really unhappy. There wasn't anything interesting for veg at all to have. Desserts were better out of all.
Dear Diary,
Naan Khaliya (Naan qalia) is a dish that originates from Aurangabad! When the Mughals moved their capital from Delhi to Daulatabad, the mass of people were so exhausted and that's when the Mughal chefs came up with this dish for the people! The naan is super fluffy and soft and brushed with turmeric water and the khaliya (qalia) is a soupy mutton curry made with a lot of spices including coconut, poppy seeds and yoghurt! Its absolutely mouth watering and delicious. Rama International (ITC Hotels) makes this dish to perfection and it's a must try for visitors and locals too!

Considering it is in a very good ITC property, the restaurant food quality needs a lot of improvement. All the north Indian dishes that were made during my stay we not up to mark. Was very disappointed with the food quality here. Service is also a bit slow. A lot of improvement is required. Personally will not recommend this place to eat.

Had been here a couple of times, never tried Ala Carte because I feel the buffet menu itself is self sufficient. Well they keep the buffet menu usually for the people staying at the hotel but I would say it is worth trying if you go in a large group. The soup in the buffet may disappoint you but they make sure that either the veg or the non veg soup favors you. Main course is great for both vegans and non vegans, I hardly found anything that I didn't wanted to taste. The desserts too are mouthwatering and they do satiate your hunger. Chocolate and Litchi Mousse were awesome. The service is ok the staff isn't very attentive but they make sure you have a great experience. All in all it will be a great experience for you. Recommended.

Finally some good food in aurangabad
Came to madhuban for dinner and opted for buffet.
Had paneer, biryani, veg soup, steamed rice, dal tadka, jeera aloo and all of them tasted really good.
But mixed vegetable curry wasn't that great
Loved all the desserts that were laid out especially the brownie
I think must try the food here if your in Aurangabad. This was the only place I found good food

Ambience and service is excellent. Staff goes out of the way to serve you well. Food quality was normal. Chicken was not very tender in chicken malai tikka and steak. Fish was normal. However, full marks to mutton dishes like mutton khaasa and mutton do pyaaza.

Nice place for family dinner.. I went there in last week... Food is oki... But Not so good... I like the interior... Good staff ... Nice service...
Karishma Wanvari
Priced at 350 INR, which I find quite decent for a hotel, this restaurant serves up a really good European breakfast. The meal includes chicken or bacon, eggs, bread slices with condiments, fresh fruits and tea/coffee. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who wishes to have a nice heavy breakfast before going out to visit for the day.
Jatin Kothari
Not worth spending 900 rs on the buffet... Went there for a dinner... Lack of options in starter...main course was OK...better go for green leaf restaurant
Purva Shekdar
Being a tourist place.. Aurangabad has many good restaurant... but it has very few good 4/5 star restaurant which provides a quality fine dine experience with good food worth spending money on...

Went few weeks back with family... with hopes of good experience...

Staff is quite slow with service.. we had to always ask them to change/provide of spoons after the end of every course.. which is not expected from a so called 4/5 star restaurant.

Food was good from soups.. starters.. main course.... except we felt there was some problem with tandoori prawns which we returned and asked them to cancel it from the bill.

When we got our bill...we realized that dal tadka which we ordered only one(safe side for the bachha party) was mentioned 2 nos in bill... when inquired about it... The captain said.. he thought one wont be sufficient so he arranged for 2 dal tadka... without asking us and we were a group of 12.. we didn't realize there were 2 dal tadka... we asked them to deduct one dal tadka from bill.. same thing happened with naan quantity...

So guys if you are in big group.. Please cross check you bill and keep and eye on what and how much is being served on your table...

Best place to visit once in a week. The ambiance the service and the food is all outstanding. Worth spending money at this place. I don't visited this place regularly but will like to have the same experience again the next time I visited the place. Keep it up guys.

Probably one of the poorest of the ITC properties. The Hotel as such desperately needs a makeover if it is to take its rightful place in the ITC Brand. Atmosphere was dull and very very ordinary. The main restaurant the Madhuban was a tiffin room when compared with the other ITC outlets. service was average and the furniture and ambience was somewhat shabby.

The variety of food was relatively limited and one found it difficult to find a really tasty likable dish. You filled your plate because you were hungry and not because of any fabulous choices..

Overall a great disappointment. Mr Nakul Anand needs to strip this place and redo it !!! Anyone at THE ITC centre Gurgaon listening ???

There was a time when we use to search for reasons to visit this awesome place and relish the food served at Madhuban. Those initial glory times has past and now what is intact is the lush garden and illustrious menu card. Indian food quality has really dipped down, food served was cold chicken was not juicy at all. Italian food is good. I hope they try to touch there initial times very best flavors. I hope this helps

Had the opportunity of staying at here last weekend. The stay was pleasant and very comfortable like most star hotels in India.
Coming to the food, we opted for the Dinner Buffet and the Complimentary Breakfast Buffet. The buffet spread was mediocre at best even though it was a weekend and service was slow. What surprised me most was that they had Non-Veg starters and no options for Vegetarians. When we're shelling out Rs 750 plus Taxes for a buffet, I expect my Vegetarian friends be also served starters.
The Soups were good and the variety of dinner rolls to go with them were nice.
Roast Chicken was the only starter of the day. It was bland and the chicken dry despite there being a jus to go along with it.
The mains spread was a little more elaborate. Oriental and Indian options were available, Veg Hakka Noodles, Au Gratin, Baked Vegetables, Dum Aloo, Paneer Masala and Hyderabadi Daal. Chicken Qorma and Fish in some oriental sauce were the options present for Non Vegetarians.
Nothing to write home about the food was disappointed by the rotis served, they were crisp to an almost Papad like texture making it difficult to mop up the curries.
Vegetable Pulao and Murgh Biriyani was also available.
The dessert spread was decent at best, the Jalebis were the only saving grace, nice a crisp and not too sweet, just as I like it, add to it the rabdi and the 3.0 rating is only for the Jalebi and Rabdi. The Tiramisu had a sour after taste and one bite is all I could take before making my way back to the Jalebis.
The ambience of the place is good but the slow service was annoying. Two glasses of Plain Buttermilk took a good 15 minutes to whip up, add to that the yoghurt used to make the said buttermilks was sour and not fresh.

Breakfast was equally disappointing, the idlis were crumbly, sambhar not sour enough, my omelet barely had any cheese and vegetables.

I'd recommend you go there for the stay, opt out of the complimentary breakfast, save yourself some money and try out the local cuisine.

Not recommended from now on... Food quality has gone from Ok to worst... Had ordered a biryani and they served me dal Chawl.....very poor customer service

Buffet Breakfast.. Buffet Lunch or Buffet Dinner.. The best buffet place in town.. We hardly go for ala carte here.. The USP is the spread of buffets.. and the variety.. The outdoor seating adjacent to the garden is quite a peace..

Since the city has limited options for fine fine, we chose this place thinking it will be special for our anniversary. Well, for a five star's standard, it was quite average. Good choices quite limited and not impressive at all. It's like having dinner in any hotel's coffee shop. Staff is ok, quite prompt in their service. The menu definitely needs to be worked upon with more choices in Main course and dessert section. Decor has to be a little more impressive. Quite an average place. We paid about 1800 for two people.

Great Food! The Indian fare is to die for!!! Ordered certain items like butter chicken, chicken biryani, bhuna ghosh, etc and was excellent! The Dal Bukhara was to die for!!! After all it is an ITC hotel so their Indian Food is known to be good! Must try for all who visit and live in Aurangabad!!
Lazypandadiaries
Used to serve a great buffet once upon a time. But the recent experience makes me hope for a change and a better addition to the menu. Being a restaurant of one of the best hotels in the city. This place has a wide scope for improvisation in taste .
Gurujinder Singh Bagga
No longer my favourite one, had a real bad experince with Indian meal... Poor service and cold food.
The little italy franchisee is bit ok to have some thin crust pizza and some desserts...
Riya Jariwala.
Serves excellent fish curries and roast . It has a very diverse buffet range . The staff is very attentive as well as polite . The ambience is perfect for any family dinner .

Good and delightful ambience. Though expensive it gives good experience of dinning. Luv it. Their chocolate bomb is a must have .
Italian food also is served

I had buffet dinner here twice. The food is well cooked and tasty, the menu has limited but good options. For a place like Aurangabad, this restaurant stands out with the ambiance and hospitality. This is one place where can go more often.

A classy place for a calm meal or a happening place for a celebration, Madhuban's dynamic attitude shall definately be enjoyable. Indian food is comparable to average restaurants but you wont mind giving a few extra bucks for the ambience. Its Italian division is pretty worth a try though the speciality here is the "Chocolate Bomb".
The Food over here is just amazing.... Entry in the hotel just raises your expectations & yeah it surely fulfils them. Right from the ambience, service & food goes so well. I had a huge variety of food being from non veg side. Prawns Koliwada was so tempting followed by Fish Fry & Hara bhara kabab with Veg Crispy in Veg. Though the Veg Crispy was that crispy enough going with the name of the dish. In main course the chicken & mutton was very rich in taste accompanied with yummy Laccha Paratha.
One must surely visit once.....

Had my farewell party here... Was really awesome experience love madhuban

The hotel is an ITC property. So obviously, their standards are very high, which is good. Having said that, this place has been one of the best 5 star restaurants in town since many years. I do not exactly know as to why it is called madhuban, as it is completely an indoor restaurant. Maybe lack of creativity back then forced them into naming it the way it is named. Anyway, that is another story. The place serves buffet breakfast and dinners along side a la carte. I have had the a la carte option rarely as their buffets are very sumptuous. But whenever I have had it, I have gone back home extremely happy. Talking about the buffet, its diverse, huge and very tasty. It follows the principle of 'little of everything". Its the usual fare with the breads and the soups and the salads and the pasta counter. Seldom have I been welcomed with an exotic offering like a traditional rann Hyderabadi or a true blue risotto or a thai red curry with rice. But however, the regular fare is incredible too. Its my go to place for a lavish lazy breakfast as Aurangabad seriously does not have any good breakfast places. That brings us to the desserts. The desserts here are not exactly 5 star, but they do the job. They have atleast 7-8 desserts on offer for their dinner buffets. It includes gateaux', pastries, pies and truffles along with ice cream. The staff is incredibly warm and treat you extremely well. The service could get a little sloppy when the place is full. But that could be excused. The ambience could be a little more intimate but again, thats being too critical. All in all, Good stuff. Pretty ok on the pocket too.

Juz renewed in a new phase.. this restaurants ambience attracts the people towards its tempta. We can call dis a muticuisine restro as they serve a variety of cuisines der. Ambience is damn good up to the mark. Taste is good but not up to the prices they are offering. Service is damn slow. Prices r so expensive, as if they r compensating there whole renewation amount at one time. Overall a pathetic restaurant spotted in abad..
