Review Phat Cat Cocktail Bar & Lounge - Baga

Being a foodie I am I always like to visit new places on the grid. Baga has always been known for its vibrant and chaotic atmosphere. Many places have come and gone in this chaotic lane, however this one is a fighter. Mr. Suhail (one of the partners and the host) informed us that they have completed one year and one need not wonder how? Let their food and hospitality do the talking. This pub lounge and food joint serves some wicked cocktails and scrumptious dishes. You should try their Maid in Goa cocktail, full of Goan goodness and vibes. The risotto was ok but the Lemon butter garlic fish was fresh and delicious; accompanied with unbeatable hospitality and friendly atmosphere offered by Mr Suhail and his team. I would strongly recommend this place if anyone is hanging around Baga!!

The best place to be to chill on any day of the week.. it's a breath of fresh air amidst the busy Baga road.. The ambiance is amazing.. I absolutely love the pizzas and the tikkas that they serve.. it's a must visit when in Goa..

Came on a Saturday night and the ambiance and food was amazing. They had a great live band (covered a lot American music) and wonderful service. Had 2 pizzas which were great and kebab that was so tender. Definitely a great dinner, drink, and chill experience.

The name of this place has changed to Mondres for anyone who cannot find it. It’s such a lovely place. The vibe is so relaxed and the prices are extremely good. I fully recommend the watermelon cocktail. So tasty! My partner and I have come here three nights in a row and will definitely come here when we visit goa again! Great service, great hookah, great atmosphere. What more can you ask for? Thanks for making our visit enjoyable Mondres staff!

The only place during a crowded weekend in Goa you will find the place owners inviting you in with a smile and warm welcome.The food was great,a special mention for the sizzling brownie.We were also told they have live music in the evenings.

Located on the main baga road of Goa, is this really catchy named restaurant that would surely attract your attention.<br/>Widely based on their main concept of an open air bar this place is not only the hub for Indian tourist & attracts a lot of the foreign Tourist around.<br/><br/>This place has mild lighting all over this place, more warm & subtle. Along with that has good music playing all the time, music that is more soothing to your ears & too to kill your chilling mood.<br/><br/>They have a great menu for food as well as some great curated cocktails. They have tried some nice in house cocktails in their curation which were really nice.<br/><br/>They had sheesha too, which was just great & went well with the mood.<br/><br/>Such ambience places just work alot for people & surely make a visit again.<br/><br/>They have two sections, the upper deck & a ground level one. Both open air.<br/><br/>We would defiantly recommend a visit there.

It's not a woW experience for the price we pay ....it's just a high expensive dinner we had , I don't think it will satisfy a South Indian people in taste and quantity.

Horrible food.. the pizza was cold and the burger was burnt.. when asked the owner if this is how a burger should look like... he said “yes”.. don’t waste time and money in this place.. better to stay hungry than go to this restaurant

We had pork vindaloo , chicken xacuti and pasta . The pork vindaloo was not that great . Xacuti was okayish . And they served the virgin and alcohol Mojito to wrong persons despite being mentioned earlier .

The ambience of this place is attractive. Good music and a peaceful place. The food was good too! A pretty cozy place to spend time in between the hustle of goa!

The restaurant claims to serve authentic Goan cuisines but they don't seem to know how it is prepared. Maybe foreigners who frequent Goa would probably not understand. We ordered goan fish curry and mutton xacuti. To our utter disappointment the fish curry was prepared with stale coconut which they presume the customer would not understand, the next best part was the mutton in the mutton xacuti which was like chewing gum after you have eaten for an hour and spit out. Also they charge you for the pathetic food that they serve to customers. Definitely you should give it a miss as there are plentiful places offering authentic cuisine in goa.

A brilliant little place for all things food and drinks at Baga. Brilliant concoctions sometimes on request will make your day in the otherwise loud neighbourhood. The music is on point especially the karaoke and live music nights during the weekends. <br/><br/>If you are in Baga you have to visit this place. And if you are like me, then you will be visiting this place multiple times during your stay. <br/><br/>Must try - all the cocktails esp. beer cocktail the celebrated mixologist who is also the owner mixed on request. <br/><br/>Also the sizzlers!!

Its a true hidden gem in the busy lane of baga.... Food, drinks, music all is fantastic.. Amazing mocktails & cocktails..... Had a great time.... Will definitely go n recommend.....

Last week I had a visit to the restaurant along with my friend. Unfortunately I forgot my mobile in the restaurant. I was worried aBt my mobile as it has lot of data in it. But restaurant owner has kept my mobile safely in his locker and handed over to me on next day when I reached the restaurant. I felt so much happy. Its Awesome experience and lots of thanks to him. Its not the matter of a mobile but the genuineness he had shown is really really awesome. Hattsoff and heart full thanks to him. Food is also yummy and u can enjoy the hospitality in the restaurant.

We did a quick stopover for a drink. Since the place advertises itself as a cocktail bar, we got cocktails. Also, because we were tired of beer, what with the copious quantities of it we were imbibing ever since we realized it's Rs. 30 a pint in Goa.<br/><br/>The Bloody Mary that we ordered was absolutely fabulous. We ordered a chilly cheese toast since it was late in the evening and we were peckish. That exceeded expectations as well.<br/><br/>It's a nice cozy joint that is easy to miss what with all the options around. I am definitely going back there next time for cocktails though.

Went to Phat Cat with a large group on our first night in Goa earlier this month. Ended up going once every day for the rest of the four day stay there. The food is exquisite-- the tiger prawn and  the tandoori red snapper were the standout dishes. The cocktails, superbly crafted by master mixologist, Suhail Virmani-- the most hospitable host in all of Goa-- were the highlight of the night. The band played some great music that had everyone moving all night long. Highly recommended if you find yourself in the area!

We had heard a lot about Phat Cat about being one of the best places on Baga street to have food. Chicken Peri Peri is what I was told is amazing. I did give this place a shot with my friends and the food was good . I can't say read great coz Goa offers so much in terms of different cuisines . Liquor is at a reasonable price too...

Pathetic service !! , Nothing is there for rating. We went to phat cat with great expectations as per the wow reviews. The restaurant takes hell lot of time to serve simple dishes even when it is non-peak hours and with no-other customers. Iam wondering how they manage the customers in the peak-hours. Waiters are too irresponsive, we ordered our dishes and after taking a long time almost 45 min he came and told it is not available!! Unaccepted behaviour from a highly reviewed restaurant. The food quality and quantity also avarage nothing meets the price that they have charged. <br/>Attention !!! Check your bills tharowly , there was a huge difference between the price in the menu and the Bill for us.

This is the first time I visited North side and this has been the best place till date. Phat Cat just never disappoints you. Amazing music and food. Seesha is blissful here, especially the Vodka Seesha. No matter where I'm put up in Goa, this place will be a must go! Cheers! <br/><br/>Your trip will be incomplete if you don't visit this place. Waste of money and time. <br/><br/>-Be ready to spend more time to get the service than a nice time at the restaurant.<br/><br/>-Cross check the bills..<br/><br/>      We got charged RS 600/- extra on the bill, fortunately we noticed it before paying. Cross checking took another 15min ; <br/><br/>-The manager and the staffs have no idea how to treat guests

Wish I could give a no-star rating. We visited this place since it had great reviews and a 4.9 rating. But this place was a !!!!!!!!!HUGE!!!!!!!! disappointment. We placed orders for 3 cocktails and 3 juices. He took his time bringing the juices and the first cocktail - around 10 mins later he came back saying one of the cocktail orders is not available. So we replaced that order. After waiting for half hour, we asked about the delay in delivery and he said that whatever we ordered is not available. This was around 45 mins into our visit. Even though we were unhappy about this debacle, we placed our food order and again it took a long while to get delivered. Meanwhile a group of around 15 people were seated next to us. Their loud and raucous laughter really disturbed our group. In spite of complaining to the management repeatedly they refused to do anything about it (we requested re-seating elsewhere). Most annoying thing was that in spite of asking repeatedly then didn't provide drinking water/water bottle. <br/><br/>As for the quality of the food, it was OK at best. Nowhere near the 4.9 rating. Passable and overpriced, would be the apt description (Rs. 375 for an ok biriyani which is less than sufficient for a person). Ambience was the only saving factor which was thoroughly destroyed by the company we had. Truly overrated place!!!!!!!!<br/><br/>PS : We visited on 22nd of August 2017 while visiting Goa, with my friends.

Poor Service, unrealistic pricing. This place is ultra slow.. Any order takes minimum 1 hour for fulfillment.The portions are very small. Visit only if you have lots of money that you want to spend for nothing and have nothing to do for the day. Even after repeated request, they haven't provided the drinking water. They don't even know how to swipe cards. You have to do it yourself or pay in cash. Also have lots of confusion in billing. We checked the bill, corrected wrong pricing. They charged 300 for a lime juice. When we asked about this, reduced that to 100. Total disappointment. Wasted our whole day.

Unacceptable service, we waited almost 45 mins and on asking the waiter he says the dish is not available. Very bad experience it was. On reading reviews we went with great expectations but dint get at least a decent response. There was lot of confusion on billing also. Totally disappointed.

Since it was an off season time plus the dry day weekend..no crowd was found..but good music and I bet cocktails would be amazing..courteous staff..owner was very considerate..food was on a little expensive side..scope for improvement is there..

Super food, nice ambience. They have a nice live band, some pretty cool music. If you don't want a lot of noise this is the beat place to hang out. The location is also excellent. Thoroughly enjoyed our visit in a big gang. Tends to fill up so get there early!

Decent place for a hang out. It gets really amazing on karaoke nights. You may end up making it your 'adda'. They do their thin crust pizzas very well.

You never expect anything great from the restaurants dotting the busy Calangute-Baga road. However, I was surprised, rather thrilled to find a gem right amidst the chaos in Baga – Phat Cat Cocktail Bar & Lounge. As opposed to the number of shacks and nightclubs lining the stretch, Phat Cat is a breath of fresh air – where the focus is more on the drinks and food, instead of parties. Having said that, they do have events during the season, but they comprise of acts by live bands and the like. On other days, you have soothing soft rock adding to the ambience.

Great place , location , service and menu. This place is on baga calungut road and in between titos lane and Brito's . Must try cocktails if you are bored of beer and whiskey. Amazing ambiance

What best can you find in Baggha if you don't want noisy places, best food, awesome ambiance, good music and the best of all are the classic cocktails. If you are cocktail fan , you will get best old fashioned here, some other bar man secret cocktails are something to die for. To top it up owner "Sohail" is a awesome host, he gives attention to all the tables and suggests good combination of food and drinks.<br/>You can actually spend whole time here rather than club hopping.<br/>Don't miss it!!!!!!!!!

Came here on a Sunday morning based on recommendations. Amazing cocktails and the pizza we ordered was delish. Absolutely loved the music and the place.

Phat cat was the change i needed in goa , starting from the cocktails to food , ambience and music, everything about this place is refreshing. I cannot pin point at the must haves cuz they have so much to offer in the menu and all of it is incomparable. <br/>Special mention to all the vegetarians who are looking for proper food , you must go. <br/>Music is great , ambience is cozy , very spacious clean and hygienic.<br/>Staff and owners are very hospitable , they take special and good care of their customers. <br/>Special mention for their lighting and ease of access .<br/>All in all - you don't want to miss it.

It is by far the best place I visited in Baga beach. They had wide range of cocktails and food is also really good. The bartender/owner is the coolest guy I have met. He take cocktails to the next level. If you go there try "Jäger Bomb” and "Silver Bullet" these things are crazy.

AMBIENCE is AWESOME... LIVE MUSIC at NIGHT TIME. The rating is for that great ambience... SERVICE might be a little SLOWER than you expect but the TASTE is GOOD. DO TRY the dessert with the NUTTELA and BANANA. It's pretty AWESOME. I ordered it twice, just so you know... The place is HAPPENING, youll definitely enjoy the time you spend here..

Its spacious seating space and polite staff certainly adds to the peaceful touch you are looking for during your vacation.<br/>Phat cat is known for its innovative cocktails, which are bound to appeal to your taste buds. A must have is the Mojojojo, my personal favourite, but do try ' Maid In Goa' as well, which has just a 'spray' of fenny, as the owner describes.<br/>The food menu is extensive, parking a LOT of cuisines under its shade. You will be spoilt for choice. Italian especially is lovely, but Indian won't disappoint you as well.<br/>Drop in at phat cat for its band performances, karaokes and the usual chiller nights. <br/>Just sit back, drink, and watch the world go by.<br/><br/>Cheers!

The most amazing cocktails I have ever had where here. Citrus ocean was so fresh and left a wonderful aftertaste. The pizza,steaks and salad were fantastic, very light on the stomach and full of flavour. Will definitely be back for more. keep it up.....

It's a great place to be at in and around Baga. I went there on a sunday night and there was Karaoke + Dance floor. The best part is that the crowd is good. No cheap crowd. Their Hookah is really huge and good, great flavours. I am a veggie so I ordered Paneer Tikka and then Indian main course. Must say, the food is really good! Tandoori items are just great!! I ordered Cosmopolitan in drinks. Im very particular about my cocktails and the Cosmo was really good. Much better than many bars. All in all, no bad crowd (given it's Baga), good music, good karaoke, good cocktails, amazing food and sheesha.

1 rating is just for the food otherwise would have given a zero.<br/>everything was so inappropriate at the place .<br/>This place hav at least 10 cameras but to my surprise none of them was working. And at this peak time of elections in Goa they give u a reason that our CCTV cameras are not working when you ask them for help to find out your lost bag. I request the manager to get your cameras fixed as soon as possible so that at least next time when someone asks you for help or when you are in trouble at least you can use those cameras which are just show pieces for now. <br/>Also please decide with your staff that what reason the manager will give at the end , waiter says cameras are working but manager denies .<br/>Really disappointed 😪

So I discovered this fine dining place on my way back from curlies. I had asked the owner Suhail for some chicken tangri but he suggested me to have their malai tikka instead.In some minutes the dish was there and in the blink of an eye it was finished . It was so so delicious , perfectly cooked. Name their paper thin crust pizzas , the big lobster , the snapper all are too die for . The price is even compared to the quality of food they serve.The ambience is great with a very well mannered staff . Come to their cocktails the owner came 2nd all over India in cocktail competition and trust me he keeps the degree in each and every cocktail he prepares and suggests. I have been on last weekend of december, Great ambiance, Decent music.<br/><br/>Host was very good, we have ordered veg main course and if you are north indian food lover this place will not fullfil your expectations but in goa you can't expect more so i would say food is good in comparison of other restaurants like garama garam, kamaaki etc.

We were a group of 11, were severed awesome seafood; Lobster, grilled Pomfret, gralic Squid, Crabs & Snaper... Chicken tikka is out of the world...Keema pao was fabulous..... Ordered some Indian wine, wooden wine bar was placed before us, we all were awestruck.......

Phat Cat was unexpectedly good. We had goan style pork and peri peri chicken. It was super delicious. Ambience was very appealing and service was good. But the place was a little pricey but it was worth it. <br/>Really had a good time. They serve delicious food.

This Phat Cat restaurant cum cocktail bar & lounge has a cool vibe of typical Goan style. The food here is unique. A decent collection of wines, spirits and beers as well. A late evening dinner along with my cousins was planned at “Fat Fish” but Landed up at “Phat Cat’. This amazing cocktail bar & Lounge with live band was out of world. The tandoori prawns, chicken tikka & fish steak were just fabulous. Our gang had bursting praise for its pizzas baked in wood fired oven … cocktails were great… light on our pockets too. One great place to chill.

What an evening with friends at Phat Cat, cocktail bar &  louge, Baga! ..... Pizza baked in woodfire oven is just amazing.......... My friends relished cocktail, wine with Grilled Pork Chops,  chicken sizzlers and Keema pao  with live breath-taking band……. still in Goa will surely visit again!

This was a pleasant Surprise at Baga !!!!<br/><br/>Amazing ambience accompanied by some great sea food .. even the sizzlers were great!!<br/><br/>It's worth trying the Red snapper Masala fry or the king fish Masala fry!! Mouth watering..<br/><br/>Authentic gosht dum biriyani is worth a try..<br/><br/>The first floor.. is a great place to peacefully sit & enjoy the delicacies over a beer!!!

Pathetic service...the restaurant takes hell lot of a time to serve simple dishes even when it is non peak hours, don't know what will they do during peak hours ....the waiters are arrogant, does not respond even if you ask them to cancel the order....the food quality is also average and nothing special.... decided to visit because of good reviews and location/ ambience.....but ultimately you require good service and food even if it is located at a good location....

If you are in Goa, don't miss out to visit this place. I recently was visiting Goa and I was so confused with so many of them. So I decided to check some of them online and through it I found this place called Phat Cat. The name really interested me so I thought to clear my confusion and go with this place. Trust me, I didn't regret a single minute there. From the Service to the food to their sheesha and cocktails, everything was in place. They even had a live screening for football match and the place got packed within minutes. Overall Amazing experience. Also, if someone is visiting today, they have karaoke night tonight. Do let me know how it goes. :)
