Review Chef Peter's Kitchen - Bardez

This is a homemade Portugese food destination for those who love to try new things to eat. Loved the food we tried like feni cocktail, serra durra dessert, prawn curry, golden fried prawns etc. The chef is very amiable person to offer food in good portion and as per our taste. His homemade coconut jaggery ice cream is delicious. A must visit eatery.

Had an excellent experience here to say the least, We are so new to Goan cuisine and the chef in charge, Peter was so accommodating in helping us pick the right dishes. It was such an excellent meal, everything was just top top class. A special mention to the muscles, I could eat them all day. Thank you sir for a experience we will remember

I am very delighted to visit this place as the chef himself prepared all the foods for us and he also prepared the food according to us as we were only 2 persons. It is a very customised place due to the person running who looks after your likes and dislikes of foods keeping your preferences in mind. I enjoyed this place really and i want to appreciate the chef as he was beside us during the whole time we were eating, thank you sir. Also the price is also very affordable as per head with drinks will be 500.

When in Goa, Go to Chef Peter's Kitchen! Thats a rule i follow always. By far this place serves the best Goan Food and best i have ever had in Goa or anywhere else. Just with 1 person by his side Chef Peter himself makes all those lovely dishes for you and its a honour to be served by him i believe, after all Chef Peter is a well known name in the food and beverage fraternity in Goa. I have been to multiple joints to explore Goan delicacies even the top ones which people mostly flock around but this place is way different. Just give a prior call to Mr Peter and tell your preference be it Sea food, Pork, Mutton, Beef, he will make sure it is available for you. Not to forget the amazing house wine! I remember atleast ordering 12 different dishes between us 5. The best part of this homely joint is, whatever is on the menu is always available, not even once its happend that if we had asked for something and its not available! Now thats what i call Consistency. Chef's house and the restaurant area is so beautiful and clam, this adds up to the lovely experience. Wish i could add some pictures but every time i visit the place i am just engrossed in the food. Try this place and you will never forget it! Super Highy recommended. You just cannot miss it.

Authentic goan dishes. Well made tasty food. Few of the dishes are costly but worth giving it a shot.. The salted pork chilli fry is a must try which is the chef's grandma's recipe... And the coconut jaggery ginger icecream.

We recently discovered this place and have been here four times already. Chef Peter makes the best Beef Croquettes I have ever had! The pork sorpotel is amazing too. The portion sizes are good and so is the pricing. The restaurant, though open air only, could do with some better cooling given Goa’s worsening summers. Babies feel very hot here, but upon request the Chef will quickly whip out some traditional Goan baby food that the kids will love! It’s a family run business but the Chef does it more out of passion than business and it shows the food that is delivered on your plate. Don’t Swiggy it, please dine in. Zomato may often show that the place is temporarily/permanent shut, so simply call the phone number and book a table.

Accidentally stumbled on this GODSENT of a place. Warm gracious hosts, serving food which went directly to my soul. We had the beef steak and the pork steak, and it was perfectly done, tasty , with creamy buttery beautiful mashed potatoes and mushrooms. What an amazing dinner, if you're a non-veg lover and want to experiment on steaks of redder meat , you HAVE to try this place out. Cherry on the cake was the caramel pudding , great work Oppa's!

Food is very expensive!! The lepo and chonak we ordered were not fresh!! Charged us Rs 180 for extra tartar sauce. Even the chicken cutlets were below par. I would not recommend this place frankly

Intimate setting off the beaten track in Pilerne (Sangolda) this place is for those who would like to have a taste of authentic Goan cuisine. During my visit we were personally looked after by Chef Peter so we were treated to some of his personal recommendations.

Chef Peter's version of Stuffed Crabs is closer to the vinegar infused (Bombay East Indian) "balchaon" than the popular stuffed cheese version. This is a taste which may not sit well with those not used to it. But for those who know the taste - well they know it and will love it.

The Pork Ard Mas is another dish we tried and enjoyed. Served with hot breads the dish was prepared with a reshad (recheado) masala variation. This bone meat dish is a delicacy for those who relish this less popular meat preparation.

Portions were generous and the service was friendly as Chef Peter was joined by his family for service help. For us this was more like a Chef's Table experience than a restaurant meal. For those interested the seafood options are stellar and will not let you down. We also did plates of Bhangda Fry, Xinaneao (Mussell) Rava Fry and a portion of Samarein Chi Kodi (dry fish curry) & rice which was polished off by the rest of our party with ease.

This is a place for those with a sure footed palate and looking for authentic local dining options away from the North Goa drag. If you have the time and the inclination, Chef Peter's Kitchen has the ability to charm you with a lovely meal.

Visited this place for lunch a couple of weeks back with family. Great place to have Goan food and delicacies. Cheers Chef Peter and thank you for the good food. Bon Appetit!!

Horrible place.
Cafreal looks like some Indian dish... the fish cutlets were not marinated properly... everything had alot of vinegar. . The stew was the worst drowned in fat... very poor ambience and the food only complimented the already spoilt atmosphere. Very expensive .. never visiting it again......

If looking to taste authentic Goan food and hospitality great place to visit. Run by chef peter, he gave us personal attention and so his daughter who guided us through the menu. Try stuffed crabs, stuffed squids

First a correction, this place is in Pilerne, not Candolim. A nice place for a conversation filled time with family and friends. We had mussels as starters which was good. The Chicken Cafreal was not anything great, i would say just overhyped. A meal for six with three alcoholic drinks came to 3k. Do visit.

Chef Peter's Kitchen has great Goan options. We had Cafreal-Sanna and Beef Steak.

Stuffed crabs and rawa-fried fish was fresh and yummm.

Deserts like coconut- Jaggery ice-cream and Serradura are made in house and are a must try.

We love to spend time there with a pint of beer and a few friends.

Have visited this restaurant a few times over past one year and can safely say that the food quality is going downhill..Cafreal was awesome first time round but this time he served us some barbeque sauced chicken as Cafreal..sad to see from a chef who was once touted as one of the best in Goa..

A perfect quaint location away from the hustle and bustle of the city. It’s a little tricky getting to this place if you’re not very familiar with Goa but trust the it’s worth it once you do. The place has a unique and homely atmosphere you get the feeling of eating at a typical Goan home . It was an amazing experience. Very gracious hosts , Good service, hygienic and last of all the food was amazing. Everything we tried here the beef croquet, fish cutets , Goan sausages , prawn curry rice, chicken cafereal was delicious and satisfying. Would definitely recommend this place for the uniqueness of its experience!

We have been wanting to visit Chef Peter’s Restaurant for a very long time but somehow it never seemed to happen. We finally had the opportunity to dine last night and the only regret is that we did not come sooner. The restaurant is very cozy yet laid back! The food was so flavorful and well prepared as well as beautifully presented. The homemade wines are also too good.

Just to mention..... The fish cakes were amazing and so was the bombay duck fry, not to say the chicken cafreal and pixe guisada being most authentic we ever had amongst other things.

Moreover, it was really great that Chef Peter himself was attending to us between some musings on the past and future, that shows a great respect towards his clients. Looking forward to our next visit.

Chef Peter worked with a famous restuarant in Porvorim (that sheltered Charles Sobraj once) which is supposedely credited for introducing 'Chicken Cafreal' in Goa. It's first owners then in the 1960's introduced this Mozambican dish to the Goan platter, and since then we have overwhelmingly and ambitiously have made it our very own. More importantly Chef prepares it by using traditional method of using stones and pressure while cooking and not an Owen(that most restuarants do). What it does to your chicken is that it keeps it juicy throughout the time you are seated on the table. When cooked in Owen the Chicken gets rubbery in few minutes. We had our stuff 50 minutes after it was served and it was as juicy as anything you can think of! 😉 In short you can have anything that you want to and will be decent enough... One just can't miss the Chicken cafreal here!
