Review Alto Vino - Bengaluru

Mohammad Sarosh
Brilliant Italian restaurant. The chef was very warm and personally went up to all the tables. We ordered the chicken pizza which was absolutely fantastic. The crust was fluffy and the cheese and sauces were perfect. We also got a cannelloni with chicken which was again amazing. We wanted something with seafood and the chef offered to make a risotto that was not on the menu. It was definitely a very unique dish although the tuna in it had an overpowering aroma. Excellent service. Highly recommended.

The mushroom soup was out of this world. The lamb ragout papradelle was good, too. Chicken Parmigiana could have been better. While the tomato concasse was excellent, the chicken was overdone and hard. Service however was top notch! Thanks for everything, will be back soon.

Just swung by Alto Vino at the hotel for dessert, and oh boy, the Tiramisu was next-level goodness! šŸ° Seriously, it's the kind that makes you close your eyes and savor every bite. If you're a dessert fan, don't miss out on this heavenly treat! šŸ˜šŸ‘Œ

We came here for a corporate dinner. It was a very memorable experience. The staff is very courteous. We got the privilege of talking to the chef who explained to us the components of the dishes. The orange virgin mohito was a cool refresher .. The Tenderloin and the fish, both absolutely tasted fantastic. As for the dessert, the tiramisu was a riot of textures and tastes ,all beautifully arranged. Overall a very delectable experience...

A must go to place for authentic Italian food. We all went for a small party with a close group of friends and we had a 3 course meal. Starting with the soup, we tried a broccoli soup and it was amazing. We then went for starters while munching on the breads and soup sticks as fillers. They donā€™t have pizza on the menu but chef prepared on demand. Yes you read that right. Itā€™s an Italian restaurant without a pizza on its menu šŸ˜Š. The ravioli was also too good. Desserts were eclectic and especially the tiramisu. We will definitely come back again.

Wonderful place for spending quality time with loved once. Nice place to taste and enjoy quality foodĀ with Italian options and many mouthwatering dishes. You will visit again for mouthwatering desserts. Highly recommended! Authentic Italian experience, an great service. The staff are very friendly and the food of the highest standard.

Very good food Good but a bit overpriced wines Good service The bread is ok but reheated rather than fresh from the oven. The amuse bouche was a tiny mushroom tart and was delicious. The parma ham was served with mango to replace the melon and if the ham was really good ( not to dry and not too salty ) the mango was extremely good. The osso bucco is good, well cooked with a nice flavor. The madarin creme brulee is good but I may have preferred it warm. There was no grappa available or left which does not work in an italian restaurant.

I have tasted very few Italian dishes like pizza and pasta max is a risotto. When alto vino hosted me to a north Italian cuisine I was amazed to taste the variety and complex dishes with chefs own spin. Must try are the gnnochi with lamb ragu, fritta prawns and calamari and Pollo Alla Valdostana. Very good service and efforts from the whole team we enjoyed the food and wine :)

The best Italian restaurant of Whitefield for sure and probably of Bangalore. Marouane is a very talented chef. He is always seeking the best products around the world to compose delicious dishes. The freshness and taste of his cuisine will make of your diner, an unforgettable moment.

Alto Vino is a fantastic Italic restaurant in Whitefield. It is located at the Marriott hotel. Food there is well prepared and as close as you will get to Italy šŸ‡®šŸ‡¹ in Bangalore India šŸ‡®šŸ‡³. Service is good and will be at your table before you think about anything. Thanks šŸ™ for a fantastic dinner šŸ“šŸ·

Alto Vino at the Mariott Whitefield is a beautifully designed reataurant, with an open kitchen and well apaced tables. The service is prompt and attentive, and we came with high expectations. The anti-pasti we started with were the bruschetta, misto di mare, parma ham and caprese. The misto di mare was excellent, with a light crisp batter and perfectly cooked prawn and calamari, and the remaining anti-pasti were deliciously fresh and lightly sauced with their home-made pesto. However the primi course was disappointing, with the spinach ricotta ravioli having a grainy aftertaste with undercooked spinach and it felt like frozen ravioli were added to boiling water. The spaghetti carbonara was heavy on the cream, causing it to lose the flavour of a runny egg. The third primi of lobster raviolin was excellent, with a thin pasta enclosing lobster portions that retained their bite. The most disappointing part through was that the primi got cold by the time of service, so the carbonara and ravioli became gluey. We followed up the primi with a pizza verdure, which was quite good.<br/><br/>The service did recognise our disappointment with the primi, and served us complimentary tiramisu shots, which were delicate flavoured with almond liquer and coffee, so hats off to the service.<br/><br/>The

This place is special. Customer service is at another level. Ms. Sangpuii, Mr. Bharat, the chef (didn't get his name) and all the staff were superlative in their hospitality. The food was awesome. One of the best italian I've had. Gourmet's delight.<br/><br/>In all an awesome experience!

My family and I have been here a few times and every single dinner we have here is amazing. The staff are friendly and recently we celebrated our birthday here the chef's took spl care of our table and pampered us beyond.

Beef Tenderloin Steak @ Alto Vino, Marriot, Bengaluru.<br/>..<br/>The juiciest tenderloin I've come across! The sauce was sweet, not something I've come across (made from red wine). It was beautifully plated along side buttered semi-sliced potato with caramelized onion. It was medium done. Ambience was also extraordinary with candle light setting. Staff was very corteous. They suggested the best wine to go with the food ordered, which was yet another blessing in disguise !!<br/>

Loved the service and ambience of alto vino. I had the veg tartare which was delicious. Minestrone was ok. Dessert was again really good (the raspberry sorbet was fantastic). Plating was beautiful, flavours and ingredients were really good. Will go back to try pasta and pizza another time.

This was my second time at Altovino, has to be one of my most favourite restaurants. Absolutely loved the main course I ordered that was custom made to my liking. Dessert was fab! Overall loved the vibe of the place and the music was really good.<br/>And Nisha was a wonderful hostess! Great hospitality. :)<br/>

Want to experience a culinary journey across the Mediterranean? Then head out to Alto Vino at Marriott Bengaluru Whitefield now. Chef Maro has recreated some delicacies from across the Mediterranean region. The festival is on from 9th Sept to 19th Sept only. They have ample options for vegetarians too.<br/><br/>I went there for dinner yesterday and the experience was phenomenal. Got a chance to interact with the Chef who is so patient in explaining the origin of each dish and what goes into preparing it.<br/><br/>Started off my meal with a platter of breads and olives. This was paired with a glass of red wine from Spain and havenā€™t had a better wine in ages.<br/><br/>Then tried the following:<br/><br/>a) Cestini Al Funghi ā€“ Absolutely delightful mini tarts with sautĆ©ed mushrooms and truffle essence. This melts in your mouth.<br/><br/>b) Tortilla de patatas ā€“ Spanish potato and capsicum omelet ; This one tastes great and the presentation was excellent too.<br/><br/>c) Sopa de Habas - Broad beans soup ; The consistency was just perfect and tasted delicious ; Very soothing too<br/><br/>d) Fideua Al Horno Con Verduras ā€“ Oven baked Fideua Pasta with vegetables and Spanish olives ; Thanks to Chef for cooking it live for us ; This pasta looks a lot like vermicelli. Loved the spicy twist to it. It was so scrumptious that we polished it off even before it reached the table (at the kitchen counter top šŸ˜‰ )<br/><br/>e) Greek Spanakopita ā€“ This is a great and healthy option. Love the blend of Spinach and feta cheese ; Must have it with the garlic yogurt sauce<br/><br/>f) Alto Vino special cassata Siciliana ā€“ A dessert with the goodness of sweet ricotta cheese, dried fruits and almond sponge ; need I say more? This was heavenly and I couldnā€™t stop digging in . Guilty pleasure šŸ˜Š<br/><br/>g) The other dessert which I tried was equally spectacular in taste and presentation. It was a filo baked Callebaut chocolate custard, orange relies with home made vanilla ice-cream. The best part is this was 75% dark chocolate so you can eat it without feeling guilty.<br/><br/>Apart from these, Alto Vino has an extensive festival menu and a regular menu too.<br/><br/>Food ā€“ Excellent<br/><br/>Taste ā€“ Delectable<br/><br/>Presentation ā€“ Awesome<br/><br/>Service ā€“ Great<br/><br/>Value for Money ā€“ 5/5<br/><br/>Overall recommendation - By far, one of the best Italian places in Namma Bengaluru. MUST VISIT!!!

I was here to attend and try out their new menu specials. World class service accompained with one of the best delicacies and paired with wines.<br/>I feel wines could be much better in white paired with mains and dessert.<br/><br/>I tried the following and recommend you to also from their new menu.<br/>šŸ”øFritto Misto Del Giorno - crispy fried prawns<br/>šŸ”øSpaghetti Bianci - spaghetti with a hint of tomato sauce and loaded with burrata cheese.<br/>šŸ”øGnochhi Ala Romana - The best Gnochhi I have had in long time.<br/>šŸ”øSpigola Sottovuoto - Marinated sea bass.<br/><br/>Dont forget to try their signature tiramisu.

Great food and service - the ravioli, the sea bass and the seafood pasta were so so fresh and tasty- special kudos to Chef Marouanne Rahali for his recommendations!

Horrible place. bad food, overpriced and bad service. Being a super speciality place the food looks prepared much in advance and does not have that freshness
Rinki Musaddi
I liked the place and food.. But due to mosquitoes I rated it 4 instead of 5! This place is classy.. Italian food is good.. But dint expect the mosquitoes attack so badly that our kid dint let us finish dinner and we had to gobble n move out of place! <br/><br/>Do something about mosquitoes.. Might come again if resolved

Good place. Amazing ambience. Visited this place for friends birthday. Food was tasty. Very good Italian food, pure and authentic. Staff was very bad and even the service was really bad. Quite expensive restaurant but service was not up to the mark. Restaurant needs to work on staff and their manners.

The best Italian food around Whitefield, we were super hungry so without wasting any time in checking menu , we requested them to suggest dishes by mentioning 1 tomato based and 1 mashroom based pasta , along with garlic bread and a pizza. All the dishes were really good but my personal favorite was the mushroom pasta. To our surprise the Italian chef visited our table and served food , what a lovely gesture ... Thank you.

Unfortunately, was eating only vegetarian food on the day I visited this place. It has good options available. There is pizza available on request as well.<br/><br/>However, my friends who had non veg did not like the food that much.<br/><br/>Food 3.5/5<br/>Ambience 4.5/5<br/>Service 4.5/5

With rave reviews and boasting of excellent food, this place seems to be a favorite in Whitefield area. Of course, it has got the brand name of Marriott, your expectations would be high.<br/><br/>Excellent ambiance and impeccable service, where this restaurant lost points from me was the food section. While the pasta was good, it was nothing extraordinary. The antipasti was just about ok. And the Tiramisu!! Well, I've had better. It was bit of a let down.<br/><br/>Overall, a nice Italian place you should try.<br/><br/>

Best Italian restaurant in Bangalore, by a mile! Authentic flavours, quality ingredients, truly very good!<br/>Everything from the bread to the pasta is flavorful. Also, the food is well priced. Not so sure about the wine prices though as I don't really drink it.

Wow, what a great experience. The guest service is something out of the world, each and every person from the person who led us to the table to the end of the meal, we were made to feel special. They took special care of our kids including taking them into the kitchen and letting them make a special meal for us. Food was also very tastefully done, the calamari and lamb shanks were wonderful. It was my daughter's birthday and the staff just made the day special for her. Kudos on the service.

We visited Alto Vino as part of a corporate lunch and it was a great experience, thanks largely to the amazing service provided by the staff there. The food was sumptuous, especially the Eggplant Parmigiana, and Hazelnut Mille-feuille. Overall, I would rate<br/><br/>Food - 4*<br/><br/>Service ā€“ 5* <br/><br/>Ambience - 4*

A perfect evening at Alto Vino celebrating my wife's birthday. The ambience is quite a cosy one with candle lights and a open kitchen where you can see the chefs cooking delicious authentic Italian cuisines for you.<br/>They have a nice mix of appetizers, main courses and wines, with some other drinks that are considered to raise your appetite too. Feel free to ask the person taking the order about what you feel like having and they will surely point you in the right direction. The staff was extremely welcoming and what made our time there more special was that the head chef Maru's personal touch to welcome us and being able to spend some time addressing our inquires about the dishes and wines. Hear him explaining each and every dish in the most detailed fashion and the process in which it is made, I bet you would have your mouth watering by just that.<br/>Right from the breads to the virgin olive oil to the angel hair pasta and the chicken and desert spelt quality, the taste was pleasently flavourful and the portions were sufficient too.<br/><br/>Chef Maru went an extra mile by preparing a birthday cake for my wife which made her feel so special. Also after finishing our delicious meal he brought us an alcoholic drink called Limoncello to be had after food that really sealed the deal for us.<br/>Our daughter accompanied us too. And the entire staff took special care of her with Chef Maru making her pasta that was off the menu and wasn't charged.<br/>Thank you #marriot and #altovino for making it so memorable and special. We are grateful for the hospitality and the sumptuous food.<br/>We will be coming in again for a special occasion.

Thank you chef Hubert and priyanka for a wonderful experience. The IL Vegano is a must have black rice is fantabulous. For our daughter the custom spaghetti did wonders while the complimentary tiramasu was an icing on the top. Truly the best italian experience I have ever had....will Definitely come back often..

Liked both the ambience and the food. Tried the Carbonara and the Arrabiata which was pretty similar to what we had in Italy. Loved that they had Limoncella to top the meal.

If I am asked to recall one of my most recent dining experience, this is by far one of the most memorable I can think of. It was probably one of the first few evenings in Alto Vino, where they had organized a food pairing with wine ā€“ in the presence of Wine Sommelier Elia Atzori. Chef Marouane Rahali and team curated a beautiful four course Italian dinner which I shall remember as an Italian Affair spun around artistically plated food, paired with wine to amuse our taste buds and senses.
VIJIN JOHN
Best Italian restaurant in Bangalore India. Good selections of wines to pair with food. Nice ambiance. I will recommend to the people who love Italian cuisine.

Best place to dine-in in Bangalore. If you happen to visit Alto Vino, don't miss out on gnocchi, salmone and cannoli, all of which were very delicious.

It was through persistence that we decided to celebrate a birthday meal at the restaurant. Unfortunately the Zomato online table booking didnā€™t work despite several attempts however a direct call to the restaurant secured our table.<br/>We arrived and were led to our table by courteous staff. The dining room is well laid out and spacious.<br/><br/>Having had time to choose from a good selection we were pleased to tuck into our flavoursome starters. As an added bonus we were brought a ā€˜spareā€™ starter by the head chef šŸ‘Øā€šŸ³ who we found was a lovely man. We got speaking to him and learnt that he was from North Italy near Milan. <br/><br/>The main courses were equally tasty. The children had simple tomato pasta whilst we enjoyed a chicken signature dish and a lasagne. <br/><br/>Despite being completely contented with our food the chef then prepared a wonderful surprise of complimentary desserts as a birthday gift... A rendition of happy birthday from the staff and my family topped proceedings off very nicely indeed.<br/><br/>We will definitely return!<br/>

Always wanted to visit this restaurant. Ambience: It looks wonderful from the outside but as we entered it was a bit of a let down. The decor and ambience are fine. Its a good setting for a candlelight dinner with your significant other<br/>Food: We ordered spaghetti vegetarian and dark chocolate with vanilla ice cream. The spaghetti portion is big. The food is just fine. Its an open kitchen so its very cleanService: The staff was very helpful and prompt. Good service.

Craving for Italian food and you are in marriott, I think you don't have a need to go anywhere. Just sit and enjoy, ah sorry experience. Fine dinning experience and having sparkles in the glass. What a loverly experience.

Absolutely fabulous experience eating at this restaurant. I have no doubt this is the best place for Italian cuisine in town. Lovely ambience and fantastic service.<br/>Starters to mains to drinks: All great!!<br/>Special thanks to Mr Rohit Suvarna the manager on the floor who made our experience so great.<br/>It was my 10th wedding anniversary and the staff made a special cake for us and absolutely made our day.<br/>Lovely lovey time and no doubt will be going again very soon! <br/>Hope the service levels continue to be great!<br/>Kudos Rohit and the team.

Excellent authentic Italian food right in whitefield. Certainly the Italian food here is much more superior than what many other cafe style restaurants these days offer. They also have super wine collection that you can expect from any 5 star. A nice romantic cozy place to enjoy with your partner

I went with my friend , we found ambience is really wow. But when it come to food for veg very less options are available. But overall experience is ok<br/>

Alto Vino is one of the best restaurants to binge in some scrumptious Italian dishes . Each dish is plated very neatly and clean .Not only the the food looks appealing but also tastes so good. I wish, I knew the name of the chef who executed The dishes . They were not only healthy but tasted great. , Special ,special compliments to Rohit . The guy has so much of in depth knowledge of wine and the food being served. I donā€™t think we felt the need to decide , heā€™s suggesting were so satisfactory . Overall staff was sweet and caring .<br/>Best thing what I liked was that , they ensured we got fresh plates and cutters after every course .<br/>Not to forget The ambience made it even more special .<br/>Defiantly try the Mushroom salad , the Salmon main course, Their spaghetti in their homemade spicy tomatoes sauce and their signature dessert Tiramisu. <br/>Last but no the least , food always tastes well with some wine :pDefinitely coming back soon .<br/>What a lovely Sunday evening .<br/>Thanks a ton .

Great food. We tried their veal risotto and the steak and so far this was the the best steak I have had in this city. The staffs were cordial, although I have had better experience at other Mariotts.

Complementing with an Amazing Decor the food was very delightful in all of the perspectives. I especially liked Tiramisu and Chocolate Mousse. The staff was very hospitable as well.

[I donā€™t write stories coz reviews are totally based on onesā€™ perception; So, the climax :) ]<br/><br/>Ambiance : 4.1<br/>Food : 4.5<br/>Service : 4.2<br/><br/>Very luxurious Italian restaurant worth a price. They serve exotic items which you won't find in most of the Italian restaurants in Bangalore.Ā <br/><br/>Word of advice : Restaurant is as dark as it can get, very dim light. If you want boisterous celebration, this place might not be for you.<br/><br/>Mouth Watering :Ā <br/>Non-veg lovers: ossobuco alla milanese (very rare item, its a shank served with rice, you'll love it)<br/>Veggies : Crostoni misti (veg salad)<br/><br/>Have a great food !

This place has the most serene ambience. The stuff here is very welcoming and make sure you have a pleasant time. The food is great as expected. Ravioli pasta and the baked salmon was superb. The bread was great too n so fresh. Treated my friends here in my birthday. We all had a great time. The chef even sent out a desert to us on his behalf.

Alto Vino or High Wine..rather high on wine, is perhaps my best experience with Italian cusine till date! It was a date night with hubby. Being a member of the Marriott chain, I always wanted to explore their Italian. So, this was the obvious choice.<br/><br/>I am floored by the hospitality! The staff are very polite, warm and welcoming. You can definitely feel the homeliness at once! We had a short wait before our food arrived. We didnt actually wait dry..we were offered some tasty appetizer of water melon and cottage cheese smoothened with chocolate sauce. Next came in the big fat freshly baked soft baguette. We loved the simple choice in menu here. I chose Risotto ala pescatora which is basically a sea food risotto. Its so spot on with the zest of lime and herbs. You have to savour it slowly to take in the flavours. Apart from that we had Lasagna Bolognise which is a standard Italian main course, but here it was made to such perfection, having thin layers with savoury and saucy fillings. I have set my new goals for lasagna when I make it at home next! The tenderloin ragout was as juicy and soft as it can get. To drink we chose Malibu and triple sec. Both were served with perfection.<br/><br/>The portions were very good. Pocket pinch is worth I must say. I am definitely going back soon. Alta sulla cucina italiana!

We were here to celebrate my husband's birthday. This place has such a soothing and romantic ambience , it took us back to Italy from where our journey started. <br/>Great food, good wine and very good service. A must go for all those who are Italian food- lovers.

We went to Alto Vino in J W Marriott during their 'Quattro Mani' Italian food festival, courtesy chefs Nicola Costa and Marouane Rahali. Chef Rahali went out of his way to ensure that we had a meal to remember! He put together a tasting platter of appetizers, including a duck carpaccio that was unlike any kind of duck we had ever tasted - it was almost like high-quality ham. He rewarded our appreciation by explaining his process of curing the duck to make it as melt-in-the-mouth as it was. He also recommended main courses for each of us and, for dessert, brought out some special little cheese puffs (sfogliatella, to be exact) to accompany some of his home-made limoncello (lemon liqueur). The limoncello in particular was a special surprise, and made us feel like we were honoured guests in an Italian home!<br/>Thanks to Mr. Dalim of MCafe for his special attention and for introducing us to the chef!

Had I written this right after being there, I might have rated this place a 3.5. But given the last few fine dining experiences, I am probablyĀ able to put Alto Vino into perspective. As with all Marriott restaurants, the service and the ambience are well over 4.5/5. The food then turns the tide, or doesn't.In the case of Alto Vino, while we liked most of what we ordered, we couldn't order all that we wanted. A food festival was on, with a couple of Master Italian Chefs dishing out their signature delicacies. This meant that the usual Menu wasn't made available, and we struggled a bit with the starters. The Soups were good, particularly the Seafood broth that came laden with oysters and crabmeat. The Lobster Pastas were interesting as well. We went with chef specialĀ tarts for desserts, and liked them as well.<br/><br/>Just that the dinner never soared to spin a surprise - but then, there was nothing that you could say you didn't like. I'd definitely want to try the place out on one of it's regular days; hopefully, the regular throws up that pleasant surprise.
Amit
Nice calm place. Great for a nice Serene dinner so that one can enjoy the variety. Great vegetarian spread.<br/><br/>Service needs to improve but liked the starters served in the set menu.

Finally a good tiramisu in Bangalore. Loved the seafood pasta too. Lovely ambiance. Service a bit slow but great food. Chef Marouane Rahali was super!!

Alto-Vino at Bengaluru Marriott Hotel, Whitefield is having the second edition of ā€˜Quattro Maniā€™- a 10-day long Italian Food and Wine Festival from July 4- 14th. This festival is all about the special Italian menu curated by Alto Vinoā€™s Chef Marouane Rahali and the visiting Chef Nicola Costa, which brings together the flavors from South and the North Italy. To make it more special there are selected wines by Wine Sommelier Anushka Padkar from Wine Park.<br/>This was my first time at Alto Vino and absolutely loved everything about this place. Beautiful ambiance, carefully crafted menu, exclusive wine selection, top-notch hospitality and best Chefs in town are some of the highlights about Marriott hotels. These highlights make Alto Vino no different than the other Marriott Hotels in Bangalore.<br/><br/>We started off with slices of rustic Italian bread followed by an Amuse Bouche ā€“ Pizza Montanara<br/><br/>Antipasti ā€“<br/>Insalata di primosela ā€“ Canederli beans salad with tomato, cucumber, onion, olives, and goat cheese<br/>Carpaccio dā€™anatra affumicata, ravanelli sottā€™aceto, salsa al miele ā€“ Smoked cured duck breast, apple chips, pickled radish in honey dressing<br/>Light, tasty and full of fresh ingredients; these salads were a great start to our meal. I liked the crispy apple chips and smoked cured duck breast combination in the second salad.<br/><br/>Soups-<br/>Crema di porri e patate con gnocchetti di pane e formaggio porfumo di tartufo ā€“ A dense soup made of Potato, leek soup, and brown bread cheese gnocchi Truffle Parfume. The Truffle taste and the brown bread cheese gnocchi were the best part about this soup.<br/><br/>Primi ā€“ Orecchiette al pomodori fresco, mozzarella di bufala ā€“ A South Italian Homemade Pasta - Orecchiette with fresh tomato, and buffalo mozzarella was a satisfactory meal for vegetarians. I tasted it while waiting for the Lobster Ravioli and loved the flavors.<br/>Tortelli di Astice, Crema di Zucchini e basilica ā€“ beautiful and handmade ravioli stuffed with Lobster in basil and zucchini cream can steal any seafood loverā€™s heart. All of us loved it.<br/><br/>Secondi-<br/>Marinated Beef Tenderloin pistachio crust, potato cream, and asparagus ā€“Ā  This dish was my favorite. Medium Beef tenderloin with crunchy pistachio crust served with a potato cream base and asparagus ā€“ OMG! Where was I for a while? In heaven? I guess so :P<br/>For those who donā€™t prefer beef, there is a lamb version of this dish and for vegetarians, theyā€™ve the ā€˜Grilled Eggplant stuffed with Mozzarella, olives and tomato, rocket and Parmesan cheeseā€™.<br/>I couldnā€™t try the Branzino e riso venere which was beautifully made and plated seabass fillet with black rice, olives, and green peas coulis. I skipped tasting this to save some space in my tummy for desserts.<br/><br/>Dolci-<br/>Dolci word itself sounds so interesting. For Dolci (desserts) we tried Sfogliatella Napoletana ā€“ a traditional Napoletan pastry stuffed with ricotta and custard cream. Chef Nicolaā€™s special dessert made us say ā€˜Wow!ā€™<br/>Ā <br/>Tiramisu Rivisitato ā€“ The moment I tasted it I felt like I was having a double espresso coffee shot. Tiramisu was so blissful. Chef Marouane has used an Espuma gun to infuse Mousse type foam (air) in this dessert; a very avant- garde technique used in most of the modern restaurant kitchens nowadays.<br/><br/>Chefs were so devoted and they kept on checking the feedback for each and every dish which came to our table. Though most of the dish names were like tongue-twisters, I had a great time savoring some incredible Italian dishes along with some classic Italian wines. If you love Italian food, then donā€™t miss this fest. A meal for two would be ā‚¹3,000/- (approximately).

Excellent food - we had the zuppa pesco, Tagliatelle Chicken pasta, beef agnolotti suggested by chef marou, the 3 calamari starter, chicken pizza and the special tiramisu . Quantity was quite sufficient and the quality was impeccable. Chef marou and his team are doing an excellent job and are very warm, visiting the tables. Expensive though. Didn't try the wines but the beer and hard liquor are comparatively cheaper. Will definitely visit again.

I had been here for a casual dinner.the hospitality was just wow!!!.The menu especially the wine is exhaustive and varied.i ordered one ravioli pasta which was so tasty & palatable. The server Avinit was very attentive & he suggested me to pick one signature dish of the restaurant..Overall satisfaction was amazing & haunting.look forward to dine again & again...

Went there for Valentine's day. It was lovely. Great food, great staff. It was a four course meal with live music. Very glad I chose this place to visit.

The only reason I would go this place ever again will be because of it's ambiance. Since I'm a vegetarian I wanted to have good vegetarian Italian food but the place didn't live up to the expectation. Very limited offerings for vegetarian. Out of all the things we ordered their Tiramisu and Spinach salad were good, raviolis and soup were bad. We ordered pasta with red sauce too which was no special than a regular pasta at any place. So not worth the but good for a romantic date because of the ambiance.
Shipra Jain
Did not like the food. The place had a private party so it was really noisy. I would avoid going again as there are much better Italian restaurants in Whitefield.
Sahiti Reddy
Went there to celebrate my birthday with my husband and couldn't have asked for a better place to start my new year. Instantly liked the place and enjoyed my Baked Salmon and Sangria(which was out of the world). My husband ordered pasta alongside grilled duck and he certainly seemed to enjoy it. It was drizzling that day and that made the ambience even more appealing.

We visited this place recently the food and atmosphere awesome. Staffs are very polite and always make you feel home, food pairing with red wine its great suggestion by sankar. Best Italian food we had experience.
Zoya Shaik
The fruity flavor of the wine complimented the succulence of the meat very well and I took the liberty of indulging in a couple of extra pours. The result-well, what can you expect? I tend to get chatty with the right Red and this was no exception.

Alto Vino has the perfect setting for an Italian evening. The dishes served up during the North Italian Food Festival was the real toast to Italy. The Potato Gnocchi, the pan grilled fish, freshly baked bread with pesto sauce and the panna cotta were prepared with utmost care and it was like traveling to Bologna...
Vidya Lakshmi
Couple weeks back I was at Alto vino for an exquisite north Italian food tasting session. Ā I got to taste freshest cheese, veggies, and gnocchi which is famous across the region the food was also paired with best wines. Brilliant execution by chef marou and his team. The festival is currently closed but alto vino serves amazing Italian food. Perfect experience for a romantic dinner or special occasion dining. Ā Must try here are the wines, cheese and cured meat platter, ravioli and pork soup this was my third visit to altovino it was truly divine.

There is a lot more to Italy than pizza, pasta, spaghetti, risotto and slick haired mafia. But lets not get into goons and stick to food ehā€¦. The Italian cuisine is all about using the freshest ingredients and let their natural flavors come through. Ā You will realize this when you savor the choicest dishes curated by Chef Marouane and paring them with wine selected by Master Sommelier Viraj Sawant. You will go on an unforgettable culinary trip to the regions of North Italy

Got an invite to Alto Vino, Marriott, Whitefield, Bangalore for North Italy Food Festival with wine paring, loved the food and the event to the core. As every time Marriott rocks in its food, one of favorite hotels, every time you the food would be more and more delicious than I expect. Let me share my experienceā€¦

When Indiaā€™s one and only Advance Master Sommelier pays a visit to Bangalore for an exclusive Wine-Pairing event, you simply canā€™t afford to miss it.<br/><br/>Viraj Sawant, the Brand Ambassador for Berkmann Wine Cellars hails from Pune and has under his kitty a few years of experience in Michelin Star restaurants in the UK. Marriott Whitefield is hosting him from August 22 through 30th for a special Italian Menu paired with Wines. I was lucky to be part of this super-exclusive event hosted at Alto Vino by the Marriott marketing team headed by Siddharth Verma and The-Practice PR Consulting. As I entered the venue, the long table with distinct Wine glasses and Cast Iron pots caught my attention. We had a tete a tete with Viraj and Chef Marou, Head-Chef, Alto Vino before we took our seats. The dinner was attended by imminent personalities from the Media and it was an absolute delight to be in their company. After a round of introduction, Viraj explained to us the various Wines we were going to pair and their respective notes and relevance.<br/>We started with a Prosecco from Zardetto, Extra Dry in texture to go with the Amuse Bouche-Chicken Bruschetta. The appetisers followed soon with Deep-Fried Baby Corn and Zucchini along with Eggplant Strudel. The latter was an absolute acquired taste and paired extremely well with the dry sparkling. Fritto Misto, a mix of Batter-Fried Prawns and Calamari followed with some Slow Cooked Chicken in Herbs. I tried the house Pesto served on the table with the Seafood and it was delicious to say the least.<br/>It was time for the Antipasti to arrive with the Villa Antinori from Tuscany. The Insalata Sana comprising of Organic Greens with Asparagus, Goji Berry and Toasted Almonds in a Raspberry Vinaigrette was the right accompaniment with the Villa Antinori Blanco. Its fruity aftertaste reminded me of the Californian Chardonnay I usually drink at home.<br/>The Secondi was a Zuppe- Acqua Di Pomodero, Green Asparagus Tortellini in a mildly flavoured Tomato ConsommĆ©. The subtle taste of this dish reminded me of the traditional Italian clear soup known specifically for its modest undertone.<br/>The Secondi or the Mains arrived next and I had opted for the Herb Crusted Prime Lamb Rack with Couscous and SautĆ©ed Vegetables in a Jus Reduction-Costoletta Dā€™agnello . When paired with the medium-bodied-Santa Cristina, a Sangiovese from the house of Antinori, cherry red in colour the lamb just melt in your mouth. The fruity flavour of the wine complimented the succulence of the meat very well and I took the liberty of indulging in a couple of extra pours. The result-well, what can you expect? I tend to get chatty with the right Red and this was no exception.<br/>Chef Marou cooked up a nice Vanilla Ice cream right in front of our eyes with Dry Ice and served it with the Dark Chocolate Flan on our table. The Tortino Al Cioccolato was the perfect sweet ending to this decadent voyage. As we left the hotel, I was extremely happy to participate in such an exclusive event showcasing myriad flavours that complimented each other so well. Heartfelt thanks to Siddarth Verma, Chef Marou and Viraj Sawant for this amazing experience in Fine Wine Pairing.

The best thing that I like about this place was its staff, chirpy and always recommending the most expensive thing in the menu (kidding) ;)Ā <br/>Ambiance was nice and quite, unfortunately I felt, food wasn't worth the money I paid. Will be going there again? Dicey!!!

Great food. Good service. Nice place for some good wine and authentic Italian taste.

Booked a table for fine dine via. Zomato on 31st eve. Got a confirmation mail as well. When we reached there, found out that they were not having any clue about my booking. Also there was no fine dine available there that night. Had to rush to some other adhoc place. Restaurant should not have given option/confirmation to book table on Zomato if there was no fine dine available. Apologies continued after that. Disappointed by such unprofessionalism. Could have spoilt our new year eve.

Decided to lighten up the mood after a rare argument (with wife of course) by visiting this place. <br/>It worked obviously with "sorry" added to the menu.<br/><br/>Great Food, calm place with courteous and friendly staff. My daughter had a great time with her pasta, mocktail and her favourite chocolate ice cream. <br/><br/>One should visit this place for the Tiramisu besides the Ravioli and Lasagne.<br/><br/>Missed out on the Club Marriott deal as I was not carrying the card (don't remember receiving it yet in the mail). The manager on duty came up with options and an alternative which goes to show the approach towards service, hospitality and a reflection of the training/culture. <br/><br/>Must visit for some authentic Italian cuisine.

Just finished eating at Alto Vino. This is not the first time, however, this is the first time I am compelled to write a review even before I paid the cheque. Awesome food!!!!! We picked a couple of dishes from chef's selection and it was one great decision. The ravioli melted in mouth and grilled chicken was probably the best that I have ever eaten. <br/><br/>On top of this, chef Dola personally came in and recommended a dessert - Deconstructed Tiramisu, a dish where all ingredients were separate. And as soon as we dug into it, we realised what we were missing all this time in regular Tiramisu, we could taste every ingredient. All in all a wonderful experience, worth revisiting multiple times

It would be evil on my part if I didn't give this place a 5 point rating! I absolutely loved every aspect of my dining experience here. Right from the very cordial service and the cozy ambience to the brilliant food! <br/>We ordered the creamy fettuccine pasta and gnocchi tossed with sage butter in a bed of roasted pumpkin puree. The fettuccine was freshly made and was cooked to perfection. The gnocchi was soft and yummy! As it was my parents anniversary, they brought us dessert which was on the house. We had a Pine nut tart filled with ricotta cheese topped with Caramel and lemon ice cream and finished off with a drizzle of Salted Caramel sauce. Sounds heavenly right? Well it was to die for! <br/>A special mention to Chef Dola who was kind enough to take me on a tour of the kitchen explaining everything in great detail! He also made sure that we were comfortable and enjoyed our experience. <br/>Thank you Marriott for the wonderful experience :)

I would like to share a quote by Ernest Hemingway which goes like this ā€“Ā ā€œAs I ate the oysters with their strong taste of the sea and their faint metallic taste that the cold white wine washed away, leaving only the sea taste and the succulent texture, and as I drank their cold liquid from each shell and washed it down with the crisp taste of the wine, I lost the empty feeling and began to be happy and to make plans.ā€.Ā The quote tries its best to showcase the beauty of pairing wine with your favorite food and vice versa.

This yearā€™s first RWI choice was Alto Vino. We headed there on the first day of the restaurant week. The restaurant is on the ground floor of the Bangalore Marriott, at Whitefield. The decor is gorgeous and grande, a big hall partitioned based on mood and group size, with ante chambers for private gatherings. The kitchen is open, and extraordinarily neat. We sat in the section near the kitchen, as it was brighter.

Nice ambience.. Good food ... Excellent service. If you like Italian food, this place is highly recommended. Everything we ordered was very tasty but the best part was dessert prepared by chef Dola which he prepared in front of us.
Ankit Srivastava
Nice food, amazing service and some innovative cooking techniques, that's how I'll describe my experience here. If you prefer authentic Italian food this is the place you should try. Service is extraordinary, special mention of Ashwini Kumar (chef de cuisine), who guided us to this restraunt. As they say, a good beginning is half the work done, and this phrase would fit well for Ashwini. The most interesting part was towards the end of our dinner where chef Dola gave a demo of how they prepare frozen dessert using liquid nitrogen. To sum it up it was an interesting and lovely experience all together.

Excellent Ambience... mind blowing food and a perfect place for a tiramisu...One of the most authentic italian cuisines.. and the chef specials are to die for.

The italian head chef along with the service team were rocking all the way. The chef took considerable pain in explaining us every flavor in the dishes, but with a great smile. The dishes were meticulously designed and laid out and the result was awesome. The lamb was perfectly cooked and was amongst the best i have had so far. The veg dishes were exotic. We were pampered by the staff. Dil mange more... They have a good variety, but would request them to extend the menu for repeated visits. Overall, a must visit if u want to have the best italian food along with a lot of pampering ;)

One of the best places in Bangalore for Italian food. <br/><br/>Great choice of delicacies and amazing service. Being a veggie they suggested veg lasagne (I guess I've spelt it right) and I must share that I could never have had a better choice of food. Very humble staff. Amazing ambience. What more can I ask for! Way to go people :) will surely see you again!

We were here for our Christmas lunch. The hotel staff and the interiors were so welcoming. The spread was so lavish - from red meat station to Thai to Mexican to Indian to salads... I can just keep going. And the best part was that it was spread out more or less evenly that there wasn't crowding anywhere at all. <br/><br/>Some of my favourites in the spread was the Turkey - a perfectly roasted full size Turkey - I mean, I don't think a lot of hotels/restaurants were actually serving turkeys on Christmas day but Marriott surely was. And it was a winner hands down. Another favourite was their breads - flat breads, focaccia, baguettes et al were really soft and fresh and combining that with some salads or ham or cheese was magic being created right there! <br/><br/>Another straight aces were their desserts. Each distinct from the other in taste, texture and appearance yet all of them expressing something of Christmas was a sight in itself. The photos will do the rest of the talking!<br/><br/>It was wonderful. I'd say it was an experience that I would cherish for a long time to come. Families merrily enjoying their time without any worry, drinking wines or beers, clicking photos, running around and the crowd was also pretty global. Expensive? I wouldn't say so (almost 3k per person) because they gave you a big fat spread, some never before had desserts and cuisines and an enriching (i'm looking at my tummy now) experience - a memorable Christmas thanks to Marriott
Shreenandan Rajarathnam
Probably the best Italian restaurant in Bangalore. Small place but nice ambience. Check out the special menu for the day as it has some amazing options. Overall experience was good and would love to visit again.

Amazing experience... Place worth going...the service, the food quality, the ambience...talk about anything. They truely live up to the expectations

Good Ambience, food was just ok, I didn't like because I like spicy food, and the food over there is not much spicy. Service was too good. I like the dessert there.<br/>Overall a good experience..

So I've always loved alto vino. We actually like this more than any other Italian place in Bangalore. We had a super special experience last night for my dad's birthday. And to top it, the chef is super cute and gracious! :)<br/><br/>Must haves - the mushroom salad, quinoa salad, panzanella, polpettine, mushroom risotto, osso buco, chicken diavola, aglio olio, seafood risotto, lemon sorbet, tiramisu, chocolate mousse. I'm sure the rest of the new menu is great too. But these are my favorites. Must also try the limoncello.<br/>

it was wonderful experience at Alto vino, they have got new chef he very attentive and the service staff where superb they have suggested some nice stuff which was very nice, and the price also reasonable you must try once.
Vandana
I loved the experience! First came the crostoni misti. It had all sorts of vegetables. Being a vegetable lover, I loved every bit of it. It had zucchini, tomatoes, mushrooms, anything you ask for! Then came the ravioli. It had stuffed spinach and cheese. It was yummy, if not for the too many potatoes outside the ravioli. My husband was happy with his carbonara. Then we ordered the chocolate mousse. It was damn yummy! Felt like it would melt in my mouth.<br/>The wine the waiter suggested also went well with whatever we ordered.<br/>Overall the experience was very good, the staff are courteous, And they are slow, because they bring it fresh out of the oven for you!
Christian Zambrano
My wife and I visit alto vino at least once every two weeks and have been doing this for the last 4 months and it has yet to disappoint. We particularly like the lasagna and the dessert called torta de la nona. The service is amazing and the chefs are always willing to accommodate our requests.

Writing the review for buffet eaten in Marriott multiple times on official lunch and dinners. Service is never short of the mark, staff is polite and courteous. I have not liked their starters on many occasions, mains and desserts are good.
Kallol
Well...to begin with the dimmed lights and the ambience it created took me by surprise. I was also happy with the greeting of the server. Food was quite good, especially the main course and the dessert. The starters could be a bit better. Anyway the team dinner was quite successful for me at this venue.
Parvathy Kailasam
Located in the Marriott Whitefield, the service here is obviously impeccable. Dimly lit, its a really cosy place. The bread is freshly baked and serves with cream. Appetisers were great, especially the chicken dumplings and toasted crostini. Calamari was OK. The main course was less impressive but inexpensive for a restaurant in a 5-star restaurant
Dr Mithila Das Mazumder
It is a busy place even on a normal weekday . Menu was limited , not much variety . It was more of continental rather than pure Italian menu. Service is poor . Food reached us late . We had to wait for more than 20 mins for the food . No interaction from the restaurant manager or captain with the guest . Everything was mechanical . Talking about food purely , inspite of limited menu or delayed service, there was no compromise with taste . Prawns were juicy n soft . Chefs compliment dessert Tiramisu was authentic n was good . In over all I would say poor service . Captain needs to interact more often to guest . Food was good n satisfying . Disappointed with service . One time visit only can be recommended for the kitchen team , as dey assure u good food .

This has been a long pending review from my side. After dining here twice, I think I'm in quite a position to review this place. My two different visits were for the same reason though, to redeem my Groupon voucher. I had bought a Groupon voucher but on reaching there, I came to know that it was valid only on weekends. Anyway, I still chose to dine here as I had heard quite a lot about this place.<br/><br/>Anyway, as soon as you enter this place, you would definitely notice how appropriate this place is for your romantic dinners. Candle Lights and the dim lighting add to that feeling. The ambience is very good if not perfect. Anyway, as soon as we took our seats, we were greeted by the server and he was quite friendly. He asked for our preferences and suggested things to order as well. After doing a little research before visiting this fine Italian place, I was well aware of what things like AntiPasti, Primi, Secondi and Dolci were. For the uninitiated, AntiPasti refers to the starters, so and so forth. Anyway, we ordered 1. Minestrone De Verdure - vegetables soup<br/>2. Gamberoni - Grilled Tiger Prawns<br/>3. Gelati E Sorbetti - Vanilla<br/>4. Polpettine - sauteed chicken dumplings<br/>The soup was good and so was the chicken dumplings but Gamberoni was heavenly. I must say it's one of the best prawns I've ever had. There is nothing much to talk about the Gelati E Sorbetti. It was plain Vanilla ice cream<br/><br/>::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: TRIP #2 :::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::<br/><br/>We finally got the chance to redeem our Groupon voucher by coming here on Friday. Surprisingly, our server from the last time recognised us immediately and greeted us. It feels good when someone recognizes you. It was a set menu.<br/><br/>Our Groupon voucher was offer 2 which was as follows:<br/>Offer 2 - Rs.1399 instead of Rs.2795: Non-Veg 3-Course Set Dinner Menu + 1 Glass of Red / White Drink<br/><br/>NON-VEG 3-COURSE Set Dinner Menu<br/><br/>ANTIPASTI:<br/><br/>Polpettine | sautĆ©ed chicken dumplings, marinated olives<br/><br/>Fritto Misto | batter fried shrimps, calamari, spicy tomato sauce<br/><br/>Panzanella | mixed green salad, focaccia crostini, bocconcini, Sicilian vinaigrette<br/><br/>Ā <br/><br/>MAIN COURSE:<br/><br/>Pollo Alla Diavola | peppered half chicken, roasted rosemary potatoes & pickled chili<br/><br/>Risotto Alla Pescatora | seafood risotto<br/><br/>Fettuccine Alla Barese | homemade pasta, chicken, roasted garlic, creamy mushroom sauce<br/><br/>Ā <br/><br/>DOLCI:<br/><br/>Tiramisu<br/><br/>Crema Di Cioccolota | chocolate mousse<br/><br/>Frutta Fresca | seasonal fresh fruits<br/><br/>We ordered Polpettine and Fritto Misto for Antipasti, Pollo Alla Diavola and Risotto Alla Pescatora for Main Course, Crema Di Cioccolota and Frutta Fresca for Dolci.<br/><br/>I liked it but the risotto was disappointing. All said and done, this is an amazing place to dine at although it's on the expensive side but you'll definitely find Groupon Vouchers floating around here and there and some of them are a steal at their price.<br/><br/>I recently found one at 799. As to the question, if I'll come back here. Probably yes. :)

My first visit to a proper and authentic Italian restaurant. Had ordered crostini misti as antipasti. Not bad for a starter. Enjoyed penne arabiata as it was made in a pure Italian way. Not too spicy not tool dull either. The only disappointment was the tiramisu which was not set properly. It was like eating some sweet custard. Had two glasses of red wine imported from France . Overall the ambience was awesome. So was the service too. Would visit again surely

Having tried almost all the speciality Italian restaurants in top five star properties of Bangalore, I always wanted to visit this place for long long time.<br/>Situated in whitefield and wee bit far from my residence , I finally decided to visit this place after checking a tempting offer online on groupon.<br/><br/>Our meals were priced as follows:<br/><br/># 1 - Rs.1149: Veg 3-Course Set Dinner Menu + 1 Glass of Red / White Drink<br/>#2 - Rs.1399: Non-Veg 3-Course Set Dinner Menu + 1 Glass of Red / White Drink<br/><br/>But Before talking about the food , let me take you through the ambiance of the whole place.<br/><br/>Located on the ground floor on the left end of the lobby of Marriot , the whole place had the character and atmosphere of a Italian place. Beautifully set array of wines on the tables, the black board menu, the music all reminiscent of Italian diaspora. It bought back my memories of my visit to Italy few years back.<br/><br/>The place was fairly occupied by the mix of indian and foreign nationals , mostly europeans.<br/><br/>The open Kitchen added to the aura of the place with beautifully laid vegetables, meats and array of olive oils.<br/><br/>I am sure you all must be eager to know what we ordered for our dinner.<br/>Ā So here it goes.<br/><br/>I will start with the Antipasti or starters as we call them.<br/><br/>Since we were six of us including a vegetarian couple, we had the liberty of relishing both their fares.Ā <br/><br/>The NON-VEG 3-COURSE Set Dinner Menu was as follows:Ā <br/>ANTIPASTI:<br/>Polpettine | sautĆ©ed chicken dumplings, marinated olives<br/>Fritto Misto | batter fried shrimps, calamari, spicy tomato sauce<br/>Panzanella | mixed green salad, focaccia crostini, bocconcini, Sicilian vinaigrette<br/>Ā <br/>MAIN COURSE:<br/>Pollo Alla Diavola | peppered half chicken, roasted rosemary potatoes & pickled chili<br/>Risotto Alla Pescatora | seafood risotto<br/>Fettuccine Alla Barese | homemade pasta, chicken, roasted garlic, creamy mushroom sauce<br/>Ā <br/>DOLCI:<br/>Tiramisu<br/>Crema Di Cioccolota | chocolate mousse<br/>Frutta Fresca | seasonal fresh fruits<br/><br/>My Pick from the above would be - Pollo Alla Diavola and Polpettine along with the Tiramisu<br/><br/>The Veg 3-COURSE Set Dinner Menu we ordered was as follows:<br/>ANTIPASTI:<br/>Insalata Caprese | fresh tomato, buffalo mozzarella (V)<br/>Quinoa | quinoa salad, asparagus, mixed greens citronette (V)<br/><br/>Ā <br/>MAIN COURSE:<br/>Penne Allā€™ Arrabiata | spicy penne pasta with arrabiata sauce (V)<br/>Linguini Aglio, Olio e Pepperoncino | garlic, chili, extra virgin olive oil<br/><br/>DOLCI:<br/>Tiramisu<br/>Crema Di Cioccolota | chocolate mousse<br/><br/>In totality it was evening well spent with friends and good Italian food.<br/>And i would rate it a fraction more than my experience at Alba and Bene.<br/><br/>The portioning was too great and flavours were fresh and authentic in tune with the regional Italian flavours,<br/><br/>Must visit place with online offer going on.<br/><br/>My rating for entire Italiano experience would be 4.5 out of 5

We visited on 18 April for dinner and later realized it was bad choice for Italian dinner. Here are many reasons for it :1. To start with we got bread with dip which was completely tasteless, when we asked for another dip ; we get marinara sauce to go with the starter breads :(<br/>2. Then we got our salad "Panzanella" which had only cucumbers to fill entire bowl of salad, how can you get the salad wrong Ā ?<br/>3. When the choices of main-course comes ; they have very very limited options. I would question the italiian place which does not keep variety of pasta. We ordered "Pizzocheri" which is hand made pasta and was so bad that i had to send it back.<br/>4. Chef was kind to offer us alternative but the only option he had was penne arabiata and that was also average quality<br/><br/>Overall, for us its was not worth for the time and money we spent there ; there are many other better options to chose when it comes for good Italian dinner.

This year's first RWI choice was Alto Vino. We headed there on the first day of the restaurant week. The restaurant is on the ground floor of the Bangalore Marriott, at Whitefield. The decor is gorgeous and grande, a big hall partitioned based on mood and group size,Ā  with ante chambers for private gatherings. The kitchen is open, and extraordinarily neat. We sat in the section near the kitchen, as it was brighter. <br/><br/>Our starters were Polpettine - sauteed chicken dumplings, served very hot, with marinated olives on the side. Its essentially chicken minced balls in a sauce, and slow cooked, making the minced meat very tender. Served in a beautiful enameled cookware from France, it was the perfect appetizer. We also got the Fritto Misto - batter fried sea food with a spicy tomato sauce on the side on a bright red skillet. There was calamari and fried prawn, soft and golden fried. The sauce had a good spunk to it, a good accompaniment to the sea food. <br/><br/>For the mains, we got the Sea Food Risotto - which had all kinds of sea food from octopus, squid, prawns, various shell fish like scallops, mussels, making it quite a fiesta served with finely chopped parsley. While the dish was really well made, the aroma of sea food can be quite overwhelming. I got the Pollo alla Diavola, that is peppered chicken with potatoes and a large pickled chilli. The portion was too big, the two substantial chunks of the chicken well cooked, in delicious but not enough pepper sauce flavored with rosemary. The dish was a little too dry. <br/><br/>After the mains, we had to take a break to make space for the desserts. Tiramisu being one of their signature desserts was an obvious choice. The other selection was the Chocolate Mousse. The Tiramisu was delightfully tasty, with just the right snap of coffee. The presentation however, left a lot to be desired. It came in a small bowl, almost dumped with a serving spoon with no after thought. The Mousse was creamy and rich, no complaints but nothing extraordinary. <br/><br/>The meal for 2 came up to 2500 with RWI set menu. The service was quite good, thoughtful and prompt, and the ambiance is very romantic. While the food didn't impress me a lot, I recommend this place for special occasions and dates because of the really nice ambiance and service.

Went on 17-Apr through restaurant week. Had been there a couple of times before and having had a good experience wanted a repeat of the same. However, the team has changed and so was their attitude.Ā <br/>The moment they heard we are from restaurant week, the service degraded. It took them 20 mins to get a glass of water. No one was interested in taking the order as there was a large group of white people inside who were ordering alcohol as well as would probably give them a hefty tip in $.<br/>So much so that the food is good, we walked out of the place without eating anything. Spoiled our evening! Kudos to the new team for the same.<br/>If you are not paying in $ and if you are not white ... think twice before going

Alto Vino the Italian restaurant at Marriott Whitefield. Went for a late dinner, last order is 10.45 PM. This is for sure an uber place with menu and wine list catering to the discerning guests.<br/><br/>Tried the quinoa salad, this was excellent tangy, lite and well flavoured. Chunks of mozzarella, tomatoes, onion and arugula add amazing dimensions and flavour.<br/><br/>For mains we ordered the Gnocchi this came packed with pecorino cheese had a very strong flavour, the sauce of the gnocchi was amazing..the pecorino was strong on the palette..and could not enjoy it much.<br/><br/>The next came grilled rosemary chicken and potatoes. This was delicious compliments to chef Ramu. it was crisp on the outside succulent and juicy pink on the inside. The portion was healthy half of chicken and with crispy potato chunks.<br/><br/>To top it we had the tiramisu..compliments of the alto vino.

A brilliant place in Whitefield, with a good choice of wines and a fantastic menu. One of the best restaurants in this part of Bangalore. The risotto and grilled mushrooms were too class. Good place to celebrate those rare occasions.

Came on a valentine's special menu day and hated the food and the staff! Not going to come back for sure. The only thing that is going for this place is the ambiance, but dulled out by the bad food!
Pulkit Goenka
Marriot has a couple of buffet places - mCafe, Alto Vino, etc. The buffet at Alto Vino is inferior compared to mCafe. They did not have a good variety as well as the service was slow. I would not recommend this buffet place since you will miss out on the huge variety of dishes they offer elsewhere. The food is great but the menu and the price is shortened. Visit this place if you have a big group and budget constraints.

Nice classy with an awesome ambiance. They have their own verity of food..we ordered some cocktails and patatas. Which was itself a different kind of dish. Potato with a stuffed with their own verity of catch up and cream. That combo was really yummy.

A decent Italian restaurant in Marriot Whitefield. Not a big fan of restaurants in 5 star hotels but this one is decent. No nonsense ambience and decent food. Service is ordinary.<br/>

Superb Italian food. Do try out for Rissotto Ai Funghi(Mushroom), Pollo Alla Diavola( peppered chicken) & finish it off with Tiramisu & not to forget a glass of Red wine with the main course. <br/>Suggest to take recommendation from chef if trying Italian for/as a beginner.

Hands down the best Italian in town. Been to this place quite a number of times and the experience has always been great. The menu is authentic italian - highly recommend the salmon, the fillet and the caprese. This is my favourite haunt to woo clients or take the family out on special occasions. The highlight of every meal here is the Tiramisu - and I will stick my neck out and say "this place makes the best tiramisu outside of Italy" .........

An excellent place for Italian food. A bit expensive though but I am not complaining. It's worth the money. The Ossobuco is to die for. The quality of meat is fantastic. Went there to celebrate a special evening and we had a great time.

We contacted this hotel to arrange for my brother amd sister-in-law's 10th anniversary and were really happy. The staff is very good and answered all our queries very courteously. They arranged for an audi for pick up and drop, arranged for flowers and an awesome dinner with a special cake on the house. Had a great memorable experience and will definitely recommend to anybody planning a special occasion. Awesome experience :-)

After having missed dining here on a couple of occasions, we figured out that they are open only for dinner.<br/>So we dropped in on a sunday night for dinner at one of the top Italian restaurants in town.<br/><br/>Located within the wonderful Marriott, Whitefield the ambiance is so peaceful, away from all the hustle and bustle of the city.<br/>The look and feel of the restaurant is rather plain, no decoration done as such, nothing extravagant. Just simple and elegant.<br/>The part open kitchen has an inviting feel to it, and the chefs were working away creating masterpieces for the diners.<br/>Their head chef is from Italy, so you can't doubt the authenticity of the food.<br/><br/>The server came up to our table soon enough seeking the order, and we started with a glass of baileys and the most wonderful mocktail - berry berry caiprioska. And i must tell you more about this fabulous drink. It was a mix of blackberry, blueberry and cranberry juice with cinammon syrup. The drink was not overly sweet firstly, and the taste was so refreshing. <br/>Poured over crushed ice, the drink got over rather quickly i felt and the taste lingered on in my mind well after.<br/><br/>To begin our meal we tried a vegetarian salad which comprised of tomatoes, cheese, onions, cucumbers, olives, capers and a wonderfully tasty light dressing sauce. Sounds simple but it was a delicious coming together of flavours. <br/>I feasted on the batter fried seafood with a spicy tomato sauce, it comprised of shrimps, squid rings and zucchini.<br/>The batter was wonderfully coated, and in particular the shrimps were light and crispy. The pieces at the bottom of the dish were a bit too oily and i couldn't finish it alone too, quantity was quite large.<br/><br/>Our mains comprised of the linguini aglio olio, which was lightly drizzled with olive oil and had a nice taste. This kind of pasta never has a sauce, so it has to be flavoured to perfection to keep it from being bland, and no doubt about the composition.<br/>We also had a vegetarian gnochhi, where the quantity was not large, but the dish was very good. Light and soft covering on the outside and light cheesy stuffing. Some perfect shavings of cheese to top it off. My wife felt it had an eggy taste, though i doubt it, since it said pure veg.<br/><br/>Portions were not too large, a single dish will not suffice for a good eater. <br/><br/>Pricing is high and a meal for 2 can easily go above 3000, so it can be kept on hold for those special occasions.<br/>Will want to come back and try some more of their offering sometime. <br/><br/>P.S - The menu on Zomato is not entirely complete and a few more dishes have been added later. Also, they don't serve Pizza..

I had heard a lot about this place and Chef Alfonso and decided to pay it a visit on Fri evening. I had reserved a table in advance but the place was not packed so could have got a table either way. First thing when you enter is the beautiful and elegant interiors and the open kitchen. It automatically makes you happy with a courteous staff standing to welcome you. <br/><br/>The menu has good options (though its not a big menu) and we went for Fritto Misto (battered shrimp and calamari). The dish was good and the spicy tomato sauce went very well with it. We ordered Red wine (Zonin Merlot), which was really good and enjoyed the delicious bread they give as a welcome. We had Fettuccine Alla Carbonara in main course and it was delicious. Chef was kind enough to give us Tiramisu on the house. The outside view was not great since its on ground floor so would have loved it if it were on the terrace or a little higher. <br/><br/>All in all, great place to go and try out some tasty Italian food and courteous staff and chef who want to make sure you are comfortable. Will go again definitely to try out other dishes.

What makes any restaurant different from other...it 's Chef. If you visit this place go and look for Alfonso Montefusco Chef and ask his recommendation from menu. Of course you can pick yours but this restaurant has something special touch given by chef. Its always difficult to find out from menu what is best of that place specially from italian menu. We ordered veg Lasagne verdure and penne arrabiata. Taste was hmm yummy. Later Chef ordered Salad Burrito for us which was out of this world and very unique in taste. There was surprise for us when we noticed cake offered to us, it was our anniversary celebration and this surprise was planned by Chef. Excellent food & Good ambience but credit goes to Master chef for making it special.
The Culinary Passage
The thinly sliced eggplant wrapped around cheese and basil changed my mind about this vegetable. A real crunch, not the mushy stuff you are used to. Fantastic flavor from this Neapolitan chef. What you will really enjoy here are the Italian cocktails on a warm, sunny day. We came here because of the predominantly excellent reviews from my friends. We went for the Chef's tasting menu. The chef was welcoming to all of us and prepared an exquisite taste experience. Unfortunately I did not write down all the courses so failed as a true foodie but they were all unique and delicious. One of my friend was vegetarian so the Chef prepared her a separate dish of sautƩed cauliflower while we meat eaters had a plate of delicious pork chop marinated in wine. The chef told us that he only uses fresh ingredients and cans his own tomatoes throughout the summer. His attention to detail and passion for the food is very evident. We cannot say enough good things about the food or the experience. The staff designed a wine pairing for us on the spot. He brought us many more tastes than he originally told us. We tasted foccaccia, capanata, fried artichokes, risotto arancini, pasta Bolognese, and spinach ravioli. When the dinner of pork, and vegetables arrived it was enough for 4 people. The tiramisu and light ricotta cheesecake were just perfect as well.

I've always been a little partial towards standalone restaurants, but I must say, Alto Vino truly blew me away and made me rethink my stance! Right from the service to the presentation to the food (most importantly), everything was spot on!<br/>We started off with the Antipasti Caprese (served with Italian style rustic bread which comes with some delicious pesto sauce), which looked brilliant and colorful. The cherry tomatoes were just right, and the Mozzarella was just spectacular. This was followed by the Fritto Misto All'Italiana or the Batter Fried Shrimp and Calamari, served with hot tomato sauce. Now, being a sucker for some good seafood I always try out this dish whenever and wherever I get the chance, and these guys just hit the right notes, with the perfect crispiness. My usual concern is that the oiliness of this dish can be a little overwhelming, or that there's more batter than the actual squid. Although it's hard to believe, but this is one dish that a lot of "fine dining" places manage to mess up. Not this place, though. I ended up fighting for even that last crumb of the batter!<br/>When it comes to the mains, I usually don't experiment, and stick to the Carbonara. However, based on the suggestion of the maitre d', I decided to try out the Lamb Shank served with Saffron Risotto (the special of the day). And boy, am I glad I chose to order something different! The meat came of the bone without any effort, and it was cooked just the way I like it. Somewhere during the main course, Chef Alfonso decided to pay our table a little visit to say hello, and ask us if we were having a good time. I guess my grin must've made the answer quite obvious, and he decided to "sweeten" the deal by offering us some complimentary Tiramisu after the meal. Which, by the way, was probably the best Tiramisu I have had in Bangalore so far. Just the right amount of coffee, cocoa and sugar. <br/>Overall, this meal ticked all the right boxes, and made for much more than just a satisfying experience. I would definitely want to visit again, even though it's a really long and painful drive for me. I guess the food just makes it all worthwhile! Full marks to Chef Alfonso and team.

Based on the reviews on this site we went to this place on occasion. <br/><br/>Ambiance was fantastic. Service was prompt, courteous and attentive as well. <br/><br/>But the food was big damper on our mood. Crostini we ordered was slightly burnt.<br/><br/>They don't serve Pizza but graciously made one for us. But that was not good. I take all that is left of Pizza and eat it in breakfast that much I love and with heavy heart I had to let that Pizza go :(. Well chef didn't ask how I wanted my Pizza so that may be the reason. We ordered Arrabiata Penne. Again penne were slightly hard and arrabiata was more like marinara :( <br/><br/>Overall not a great place to visit for Italian food.

Been here for an office dinner. <br/>The experience was so personalized, that I received a call back from the head chef Alfonso explaining about the menu, after booking the table. <br/>By far, the best Italian food I've tasted in Bangalore. Buffalo Mozzarella and Tiramisu were the best.<br/>Loved the Ambiance and service.

If you're looking for an Italian fine dining, Alto Vino is the place. The ambiance - by default - is great, the chef was courteous enough to ask us how we would like our spaghetti, full marks for service there. The food too was great except for the fact that we weren't too happy to have found Octopus tentacles on our plates when we asked for a plate of spaghetti with sea-food. I've been tolerant to some very weird dishes around the world, but that I've seen over the counter or in someone elses plate, not mine. If you're not too keen to experiment then make sure you ask the chef or the maitre d' to prepare your sea food platter without the Octopus. Otherwise, a must try restaurant.

We went to Alto Vino for our second anniversary dinner.. and i hate to say but it was a very disappointing experience. The night started out well.. Chilled beer and fritto Misto.. Then came the Main course. My wife ordered a chicken pasta ( a Fettucine Alla Carbonara) and I ordered a Seafood Spegatti. When the order came he brought me a grill Salmon with roasted potato!! Anyway since it looked good and dint wanna get the poor guy in trouble we decided to try it out. <br/>The chicken in the pasta was very dry and the sauce in the salmon dish dint go well with the fish at all. When the manager of the place came around to see if we were enjoying the meal, we told him our feedback. In a while the Chef came to the table as well which was nice and asked if we wanted to change the dish and that the salmon dish was on the house. But that did not happen and we ended up paying for it.<br/><br/>So.. <br/>Food- 2/5<br/>Ambience-4/5<br/>Service- 3/5<br/>Value for money- 1/5<br/><br/>Final verdict: Nice Ambience, Good looking food but looks can be deceiving. <br/>Will we go back? Hmmm... Dont think so ..

I chanced upon the Italian Cooking Class at Alto Vino, Marriott (Whitefield), during my visit to the restaurant. The classes are conducted by the executive chef, Alfonso Montefusco usually on Saturday morning between 11am - 2pm. I signed up for the first class that was scheduled, making hand made pastas (Gnocchi in pumpkin sauce and Ricotta and Spinach Ravioli in tomato sauce). The hands-on experience was truly exciting creating everything from scratch and get the insiders secrets to get the dishes to taste true to its origin. <br/><br/>After the first class, I have already done two more classes, learning the secrets of making Lasagna and Risotto (we got to make Tiramisu as well, as a bonus)! Alfonso introduces the ingredients used, substitutes (since a lot of it is not available in local markets), and the techniques in a very simple and systematic manner, since not everyone in the group is an experienced cook.<br/><br/>Unlike elsewhere, the classes were not mere demo with us taking notes but very informative and fun at the same time, giving us the space to try and experiment with the dishes, the way we want to improvise or customize it to our taste and liking. <br/><br/>It is surprising that not a lot of people know about it, though it is fortunate for the likes of me who attend it, since we get to interact with the chef more closely than if we were in a much larger group. However, I understand the class strength is limited to 10 per class anyway to give everyone an opportunity to cook and interact! It is a great value for money and each of the classes cost us about INR. 1100 including the lunch following the class which usually has a chef's special too. This is surely a must-do weekend activity for people living in Whitefield or elsewhere in Bangalore who enjoy gastronomic experiences. We also got a certificate of participation from the chef and hotel every time we attended! :-)<br/><br/>Hope the hotel plans on advertising it more actively rather than keeping it as a hidden secret, so that more people can experience and be a part of it.

We visited the restaurant on the very first day of new year. Keeping very high hopes we planned to go there.<br/>However, for the start the ambiance was nice, spacious though cozy seating. Staff was courteous.<br/>BUT the food was absolutely below average. Menu was very limited. Ordered a chicken that was apparently slow cooked, but it was so slow cooked that tasted like it wasn't cooked a bit. Ordered a dish that had salmon as a main ingredient BUT even the salmon was smelly and wasn't fresh at all. The desserts looked as if the chef just wanted to serve and finish the service and go home, never seen such ill-presented dish ever in our 5-star dining experience. <br/><br/>Would definitely not recommend anyone to waste your money in this place. There are better places to have Italian food but NOT THIS!

on the special occasion of my birthday. .my husband decided to have Italian and being new to city, we thought to give it a try at Alto Vino.. the ambience is very elegant. .vespa scooter displayed at door is catchy.. we started with entrƩe they were nice.. but the best part was main course the juiciness of chicken and fish in the best of italian flavour. . relishing. . and d typical dessert tiramisu was very nicely served.. we looved the food and the best part of the place is the master chef goes to each and every table and ask for feedback. ..<br/>we definitely gonna go their again. .

Very disappointed! Looking at the Zomato review, we wanted to give Alto Vino a try. Yes there was rustic bread but no tomato-basil dip but plain butter. Minestrone didn't appeal much, just very watery over cooked pasta and vegetables. Panzanella was too salty! we ordered aglio olio hoping the simple dish can't go wrong but we were presented soggy linguine. Lasagne verdure is overcooked again. Average olive oil cake. Service is as usual Marriott standard though.<br/><br/>Overall not much variety for vegetarian and I have had better Italian food !!

Last night I was caught up in the midst of an passionate and delicious Italian Love Triangle! On one side (for the sake of imagery) a kiss on one cheek was from a five star chef and the other, with an equally compelling kiss, was a Italian grandmother (Nonna) smelling of figs and coffee. I mean these kisses in a strictly metaphorical sense...the two sides of Italian cooking...modern and rustic.<br/>Chic vs homely.<br/>Chef vs Nonna.<br/><br/>The first thing that came to our table was a win for Nonna, a rustic loaf of bread with a simple, tomato and basil dipping sauce. We absent mindedly munched while admiring the lovely setting, candles, tall glass windows and chain metal curtains.<br/>Nonna - 1, Chef - 0<br/><br/>My starter was beef carappacio with vinegary dressing and greens, showcasing amazing technique and spot on flavor. My husband's was Fritto Misto, batter fried seafood served in a rustic skillet. My roving hands found their way to the prawns and calamari soon enough The dish was seasoned lightly and let the flavors of the seafood sing through.<br/><br/>Nonna - 2, Chef -1<br/><br/>The mains were grilled seabass and a filet of beef. We had asked for the beef to be well done, but it came to us medium, but it still was substantial and delicious. The fish too was gorgeous, a large fillet with crisp skin and a lemony sauce. The seasoning again was so restrained, but these top notch ingredients have to be given the spotlight and not be drowned in sauce or spices.<br/><br/>Nonna - 2, Chef - 3<br/><br/>Finally we had the Tiramisu that served to us from a large bowl; it was authentic and had a coffee kick that was just right. But the highlight of the dessert course was .Torta della Nonna, a pie filled with dry fruits, topped with cream and an amazing fig-lemon marmalade.<br/><br/>Nonna - 4, Chef - 3<br/><br/>Nonna wins...but I will need to visit the exceptional Alto Vino several times over, to ensure both types of cuisines get their due!<br/><br/>The bill with no liquor came to 2000 (I went for the RWI) and the service was a delight. The place was buzzing and the open kitchen gave it a certain vibrancy. I think this place deserves full marks in every respect. Go here for a special evening!

Three important points about this restaurant:<br/><br/>1. Ambience is good<br/><br/>2. Food is really average. I have eaten much better pasta at other Italian restaurants in Bangalore<br/><br/>3. Service is pathetic. One of the waiters there was really rude. One incident whereI asked for wine menu by glass - instead of getting the menu he got two wine bottles that were almost over and told me that I should choose from either of those. I have never seen any problem with service in any of the Marriott restaurants all over the world - this one seems to be an exception. <br/><br/>Overall, a BIG Disappointment

Without a question a gold standard for Italian cuisine in Bangalore. It is the best Italian restaurant in the city by far. The restaurant has a great ambience and decor is simplistic. But all that fades away when when you put the first morsel of food into your mouth. I loved the food, the flavours and the taste. I had a smoked chicken pasta and I must say I have never had a dish smoked as well. The food was awesome. A definite must visit.

I am never compromising with as serious a subject as food and here I am all praise. This (finally) newly opened Italian restaurant to me serves very well executed dishes that, thank God, stick to the original Italian recipes : fresh pasta with delicate seasoning, melt in the mouth creamy tiramisu, not the usual imitation of tiramisu, the REAL thing. I had melanzane parmiggiana which came in a large rich dish. Can't wait to go back, when they will be opened for lunch. Good and friendly service, else my rating would have come down.
