Review Caprese - Bengaluru

A bit in the expensive side, but absolutely amazing food here, quality and freshness of the meat and seafood was on point! Highly recommend!!

Amazing views from the 18th floor. Authentic Italian food and a variety of items on the menu to try from Ideal for small business meetings and get togethers. My colleague did not like the Al Dente Penne pasta as she felt it was a little undercooked. The chef was very humble in listening to her feedback and replaced the dish within 10 minutes.

Everything we ordered was phenomenal, and the complimentary focaccia and dips were absolutely delicious. We even got an opportunity to chat with the Sr. sous-chef, Sundaraman, because we had a question about one of the dishes. He was knowledgeable, humble and very nice. He suggested we try the Himalayan salt and sun-dried tomato gelato for dessert, and it was surprisingly good! I removed one star for the atmosphere just because the people at table behind us were blasting some cartoons for the kid that was sitting with them at some point, and someone else at another table was speaking loudly on a video call for some time. But we tolerated it and still had a wonderful time. Would love to come again next time I'm in Bangalore!

A place to make memories. Situated at 18th floor, it provides a breathtaking view of the garden city. Food is wonderful. True fine dining experience. Service was delightful. Price may not be to everyone’s liking.

Caprese is a wonderful place in Bangalore and the food here is very good and tasty. Every facility is available in this hotel. There are many options for drinks in this hotel. I will definitely tell my friend and my relative to come to this hotel. My friend told me to come to this property in Banglore.

The waiters got uneasy about our presence towards the end and asked if we had a membership with them multiple times. Good food, great ambience and received questions around the food quality. The cocktail tasted pretty good.

Good food, good wine, comfortable dining room. Located at the 18th floor of the Shangri La Hotel in a comfortable and simply decorated high ceiling dining room. You will have a nice view on the town. There is also an outdoor terrasse for the smokers. The dishes were made from fresh and tasty ingredients. The drink list is exhaustive. The service is very attentive.

Visited this lovely place for lunch on an office day. Self invited and self paid. Decided to visit the place on a friend's suggestion to try the tiramisu and I was really happy to listen to him. Tiramisu here is absolutely lovely, it is served on table in deconstructed form and assembly is done in front of you. Heavenly 💓 flavor. Before that though I had a pizza which was made for me with various meats and vegetables. I didn't bother to read the menu as I prefer to let the friendly staff decide for me based on my requirements. And they decided on a lovely pizza . Truly satisfied and a must visit for a tiramisu lover.

This is Mediterranean restaurant with more focus on Italian food. Good food, good ambiance. Place is a class apart. The Italian starters and the desserts were amazing. Check the photos uploaded for more details on the food.

If you need a decent Western dining in India, go here. The panoramic view of Bengaluru Palace from the top gives you a taste as well as a pleasure to see. It is well-stocked with wine and champagne. Please have a hearty meal with the proper amount of food made by your chef. It is a Mediterranean restaurant of Shangrila Hotel. You have to go inside the building and move to the 18th floor. The map is very confusing, but it is the 18th floor of the main building, not the other building. Never go back behind the building!

Every individual team member I.e. Roslyn at the front desk, Ayan the Caprese restaurant manager and Waseem the chef at Caprese helped make it a wonderful dinner for my wife and me. The food was outstanding- especially the four cheese pizza! The ambience is out of the world with an eighteenth floor view of the city of Bengaluru. The whole experience made even more memorable because of the perfect weather. It's always difficult to give five stars on rating apps cause the hotels these days have to do a lot more than just look grand and serve good food. Shangri la did just that with out of the world service and mind blowing views. Thank you for hosting us.

Chef Sundara Raman and his crew deliver an exceptional culinary experience. The tiramisu and panna cotta are a must try. The chef accommodated all our dietary requirements, look forward to coming again.

What a wonderful dinner.. Pure and full of subtle flavors... The tortelli was fulsome and cooked to perfection and the Primaavera pizza was delicious.
Special mention to the staff esp upendra and sanghi for bringing a fantastic cake to celebrate our anniversary.
I'll be coming back hungry for more...

We had a fantastic meal at Caprese - the taster menu was absolutely delicious and we had perfect service from Upendra who was incredibly friendly. Every single course was divine and the view from the restaurant is incredible. Thank you so much!

We went for a family dinner here with an infant. Ambience and service were excellent. Most of the items we ordered were good, except for a few. We really liked their mushroom risotto and tortelli. Bengaluru views weren’t visible as the glass panes were painted dark. It would’ve better if the view is clear.

Got a chance to visit this place on my bday!! It was more like a surprise by this amazing man who coordinated with the most supporting staff to make my bday a rocking one! They have an indoor as well outdoor seating! We chose to have an Alfresco ( outdoor ) experience despite being cautioned about the breezy and chilled weather!
We called for a rossa pizza and chicken spudini ( check the menu for the correct spelling ). Both were delicious and the salmon on the pizza was my man's favourite! The quantity was enough to serve two...well the pizza could easily accommodate three eaters. Coming to my bday surprise, the dessert..the best tiramisu i have eaten so far!!! The coffee flavour was not too strong not too dull either!! Absolutely Loved it!!
The staff and the service they provided was unforgettable, they even offered a stole for me incase i got cold! Sweet, isn't it?
The ambience needless to say is crazy good, located on the 19th floor, the view is spectacular! To summarise-
Staff & service - 5/5
Ambience - 5/5
Drinks - 4/5
Food - 5/5
Value for money - 5/5

Caprese at ShangriLa is one of the Gorgeous place withal a wonderful view for fine dining restaurant located at the heart of the city. Was here to attend Chef Lorenzo curated Italian menu who is all the way from Italy. We were here for the Brunch.

We started with The Italian Garden , a healthy and superfoods colourful salad with leaves quinoa ,beans ,corn and goat cheese in flax seeds and lemon dressing, this was the best salad I had in recent days. You can check out my picture to know how colourful and beautiful it looks.

Baked potato ricotta and spinach roll with tomato sauce, Parmesan cheese and butter sage it was melt in mouth dish. Handmade Tortellini filled braised lamb and cheese gravy sauce was good too.

We also tried Dello’oste which has rosemary black truffle page fresh burotto, parmesan cheese so delicious that we finished it completely:

Cold red fruits berries soup with vanilla ice cream merengue and basil leaves. This was an outstanding dessert the flavour of basil leaves with vanilla ice cream and berries wow what a fantastic taste.

Last but not least my favourite Tiramisu which I can never ever go wrong. Many times I stop here just for this dessert love it so much. I highly recommend it don’t miss it.

Caprese is one gorgeous fine dining restaurant located in the heart of the city.
I was here to attend a Cooking Masterclass by Chef Lorenzo. Chef Lorenzo is from Italy and has curated a special menu for the entire month of November aptly named An Italian November To Remember.
The cooking demo was followed by an exquisite lunch and wine tasting by Santa Margherita wines.

We tried some lip-smacking delicacies like Wild Mushroom Risotto, Burrata Caprese Salad, Chicken Spiedini and Handmade Cappelletti filled with Beetroot puree, Chicken Milanese and more. It was indeed a pleasure to indulge in some authentic Italian cuisine and learn more about the intricacies involved in its preparation.

Last but not the least, the breathtaking view from Caprese was the icing on the cake.

One of the quiet restaurants if you want a discussion over a meal. The décor was minimalistic if bit unremarkable. We chose the comfortable sofas. The service was very good as expected. Antipasti I had the Gamberi Saltati in Padella Con Piselli Ed Essenza Di Limone Verde which was a dish with 3 pan fried tiger prawns with vanilla pea puree and crisp prosciutto. The prawns were nice and juicy if a bit bland even with the pea puree and the prosciutto was nice and crisp though salty once I was done with the prawns so had to waste a little bit. My host had the Minestrone Di Verdure which he found a bit too thin.

For the main course, I had the Ravioli Ricotta E Spinaci, the mushroom in butter emulsion was a bit salty for me so the steward proactively replaced it for me and the emulsion was perfect the second time around but the Ravioli did not feel very rich to me as in the ricotta and spinach taste was not dominant as I usually like it. Overall good. My host had the Polletto Alla Cacciatora which was roast spring chicken, he found it bit too much in quantity and a bit dry and so wasted a significant portion.

Overall food was ok.

For drinks, we just had mocktails, my lemon basil martini (or something like that) and virgin mary both were average.

I found the food and drinks below average for a restaurant of this calibre.

Visited this place on a Sunday afternoon for lunch. This place is located on the 18th floor of Shangrila hotel.

Ambiance: 5/5

Food: 3/5

Service: 5/5

Value for Money: 3/5

Ambiance: Decent interiors with a spectacular view, with both inside and outside seating.

Food:

1. Pizza Con Polo E Gorgonzola Pizza: The pizza base was little hard. and the chicken did not taste good.

2. L'ANGOLO Della Pizza: Classic hand stretched and long fermented dough, topped with fresh ingredients and baked to perfection.

Desserts:

1. Vaniglia Panna Cotta Ai Frutti Bi Bosco: Vanilla panna cotta served with black berries, fresh mint and italian meringue. It tasted good. The presentation was great and the vnilla panacotta was also good.

2. Frittelle Della Nonna Con Zucchero Caramellato: Freshly baked frittelle with custard filling and caramelized sugar. It tasted OK.

Staff were very courteous and friendly. Service was quick and fast.

I and been there for a dinner with my hubby and my little one.. I loved their chicken pizza and appetizers which they served along with it. I chose the sit outside. You get a good view of Bangalore from the 18th floor and cool breeze too. Staffs are very polite and kind. I was able to have my food well as they took care of my little one. I would recommend it to someone who loves Italian cuisine with a decent price and a 5 star hotel. Ambience is also awesome and food quality

Went for lunch on a weekday and truly enjoyed our experience. We tried the bruschetta which was amazing. We had a pizza which was really good too. The highlight was the tiramisu.
The service was perfect. And the view of Bangalore is pretty great. Would definitely recommend it to all. Hope to visit again soon

Very very calm atmosphere. Appropriate for a nice lunch or a lunch date. Serves as a suitable workspace too. The food was delicious - had some pizza and rissotto. The sangria was great too. The view is beautiful - what with the entire city being visible in all directions.
Nikesh Porwal
Not so good experience. The food was ok. Not as good as expected. Thr presentations were great but not the food quality and quantity. Had been there for dinner. They should focus on taste

Dear all,
After reading nice reviews we choose caprese for lunch on Sunday for exotic Italian food.. but was disappointed with food preparation and taste..bad experience..
Toto Goyal
Coming here because we had a great experience the last time. Came here for Valentines, slow service, cold sad bruschetta, half hearted pizza and a cold ravioli. The two starts are for the Tiramisu.

Loveeeee the desserts❤️❤️
A little expensive but it’s worth it maybe!?
The view of Bangalore palace from the 18th floor is simply amazing👀
Nice ambience & good staff!

Visited for lunch on Sunday and glad its not brunch only.

Located at 18th floor of shangrila with birds eyes view of Bangalore city.

Ambiance- honestly nothing great to mention as it was decently okiesh. With Christmas celebrations around the you can see danglers and snowflakes etc.

Service- very courteous and quick. Kitchen to table service is also fast.

Food- olive fritters was good, soup was ok , chicken was good, gnocchi was decent not awesome though. The huge problem was very less options in vegetarian section. Portions were ok not very great.

Desserts- had one of best tiramisu ever , it was perfect. The presentation itself is so drooling. The vanilla panacotta was also good.

Overall a great experience with good service and great view with good food. Just feel they should add more vegetarian options also.

My fellow foodie friend and I were here for a celebratory dinner. So let me tell you that this is an absolutely amazing place if you want to have a quiet evening, with lots of chit chats, good food and soothing breeze.
What’s HOT? One word - TIRAMISU! The best Tiramisu in the city. Abso-freaking-lutely the very best. Also they have a really good collection of wines, which if you are a fan of then please go by the bottle.
What’s NOT? In the main, pork with apples and fennel bulb.
But when my friend was asked about it, she politely mentioned that she didn’t like because pork was undercooked. The staff was so generous and extremely nice to bring her a perfectly cooked chicken breast as complimentary main.
Why VISIT? If you like luxury dining places, want to have a good wine and enjoy the breeze. (Would suggest you to sit outside on the open terrace)
Why NOT? I’ll let you know when I think of one.
-P
Ananya Bhakat

I’ve always loved Shangri-La ! On entering the elevator and reaching the 18th floor the staff asks us which one of the 3 restaurant would we like to go to (Yataii/Saffron/Caprese) Caprese being the Italian cuisine restaurant is one among the favorites . The ambience is amazing and the staffs are very friendly and helpful. The food !!!!! It’s amzingggggggggg. Must try Ravioli! The presentation is good too. ❤️

The place was beautiful.
The chef was very polite, kind and knew exactly what a diner would like.
The attending staff were very respectful and attentive.
The food was authentic Italian. Specially the cheese burrat
The display and dressing were splendid as well.
A good choice for fine Italian dining

What a wonderful experience we had at Caprese! Pushkar and Angshumi were super helpful!

The Eggplant Parmesan didn't disappoint. However if they had made it with Parmesan instead of Mozerella, it would have been super awesome

Caprese was long pending. Choose to go here for a celebration. 5 star service - Angshumi, helped us with the food choices and ensured quick service. Gnochi and lamb ragout was really well made. Great experience !

Lovely location probably one of the best panoramic views of the city ...but that's where the good part ends. For a five star restaurant one goes with the expectation of great service and great food. Let me start with the latter . The entree was passable of a chicken entree alongwith some prawns. We decided to go for pizza , one seafood and the other vegetarian. The pizzas took an enormous amount of time despite queries and when they did were cold ?!!...the sea food pizza had little flavour and the vegetarian one was tasteless as well But what made the experience worse was the service. The staff is poorly trained including language skills ...mumbling and unintelligible. The restaurant is hardly running full yet it seemed like the staff was too busy to enquire about us ! Not only did the main orders come late , there was a hair on the plate of a guest !:( ...and a simple request for green and mint tea took 20 mins only to be told that green tea can be served but for mint tea we had to wait further! Then why is it on the menu ?
Anyway in a nutshell caprese needs to shake itself out of its lethargy and focus on food and service of a standard expected from a five star especially the shangri la!

Visited Caprese for dinner with family. We were promptly seated and attended to. Service was top class. The bread platter was fresh and delicious. Burrata cheese and lamb shank were very good. The food went down well with some good South African Merlot wine. Tiramisu espresso was wonderful. We were pleasantly surprised by the reasonable prices at a place of this standard.

Finally great, authentic Italian food in Bangalore. I am sure Chef Andrea with his passion will set a benchmark for all the Italian restaurants in town. Balanced contrast of tastes and colors of dishes made our experience at Caprese a remarkable one.

We dined here tonight to celebrate my wife's birthday and it was special in all ways. If i could, I would give 6 out of 5. The ambience and view outdoors was lovely. The hospitality was excellent, it beats the hospitality of other 5 star hotels by leaps n bounds. Staff was so courteous, polite, more than eager to help. Although every1 from reception to staff near the lift, in the corridors, etc was good, but a special mention for Farzan & Arvind from Caprese, and a foreigner staff in B-cafe (I think her name was Andiella or something similar i'm sorry). She escorted us all the way from B-cafe to Caprese although it wasn't required. The food was very nice - Tiramisu (thx to farzan), ravioli (thx to arvind), pumpkin soup tasted really nice. We look forward to dining here again.

Celebrated our mom’s birthday. The tables were decorated and they gave us flowers and cake and the service was brilliant. The food was excellent and the choice of wine was very good. Try the Argentinian White wine.

We chose this to celebrate our 5th anniversary and got it reserved in advance. It was mesmerizing experience from the time we entered the hotel to the restaurant at 18th floor. It's one of the classy fine dining place I have ever come across. We got a beautiful corner table and were greeted well by their chief service guy on the floor and was formally introduced to the guy who will be serving us. Although they were working on adding items to the menu and had limited offerings but it was sufficient for two of us. We ordered puglia buratta bruschetta, homemade ravioli, all 3 mocktails they had, mushroom risotto n berry berry Panna cotta. Food wise everything tasted good and we got to experience variety of of cheese used for different stuff which is amazing and gives you the feel of authentic Italian cuisine. Service as well as decor was surely something which goes in sync with standards of fine dining at a plush restaurant. The only suggestion I will have is to work on presentation of their food which was very basic and could have been better!!!
Amiya Vellapally
The food here is SO good that I came back twice in one week. I highly recommend the Tagliatelle, the Spaghetti with Lamb Ragout and the Tenderloin. The Tenderloin came with positively sinful truffle mashed potatoes 😍. The staff is lovely and the view is absolutely stunning! One of my favourite restaurants in the city for sure.

I came here for my parents anniversary with a group of 8. About food - it was italian, really delicious and tasted authentic. We ordered pretty much every vegetarian item on their menu. And 2/3rds of the desserts they had on offerThe customer service made the whole experience 5/5. They staff was courteous, polite. THey Went out of their way to make it a memorable lunch for us. I remember Anand was one of them, but there was another lady whose name I forget who was really nice too.
For The Luv Of Food
What a location. Just perfect to have a nice quiet & relaxed meal. Situated at 18 floor, the view is amazing. Though i chose al-fresco seating indoor is available too. Coming to food, we had ordered Pasta & calzone. While the pasta was a little under-par cooked the calzone was yumm. What stood out was the cake (on the house) & the warm hospitality of the staff. They were extremely courteous. Going by their hospitality & the grandeur of the place I would definitely explore other restaurants the place offers.
Amulya Jayadev
Lovely ambience , courteous staff and perfect where you would want to spend a quiet time with your loved ones. All food ordered was delicious and yummm.
Taste-N-Tummy
I rate the ambience and service at 5. Food I feel could have been better. Ordered Red Snapper in main, I expected the jus to be different as it appeared more like tomato salsa with black olives. I provided the feedback to restaurant manager but was not convinced with his explanation of infused jus; as something did not work well as a whole dish. Snapper was cooked perfectly which I enjoyed. Assortment of breads were very soft and tasty.
Shriju
Lovely , cozy ambiance situated on the top floor of the hotel with great view and friendly staff. Unfortunately couldn't have pizza but the food suggestions given by Aadil was superb .We will definitely come again..
Thanks Aadil

Excellent ambience; very good food ; courteous servers ; one of the best places in town for a Sunday lunch . The Mediterranean Sea food soup and the Tiramisu stands out .

Came here for the 3 course business meal. It's brilliantly thought. The food is rich and I could actually taste all the flavours. The restaurant serves some yummy complimentary focaccia. The seafood broth and lamb shanks were cooked perfectly. The price I paid for this business lunch was completely worth it.
With food, the wine they pair is beautiful. I've had one of the best sangrias ever.

Been here with friends for dinner. Food was good specially the assorted breads and dips to go along..the chicken starter was good however the fish and chips could have been better. For the main course spaghetti was a good option recommended by the courteous staff.... the ambience is well suited for a romantic dinner... check if u could get a seating in the balcony....very good ambience with courteous further makes it a memorable experience
Ayushi Khandelwal
Had been there with a friend for corporate lunch which was a set menu with only three item. The food was good and the tiramisu was the best I had in my life . The views of Bangalore are breathtaking from this place .

the ambience of a star hotel almost always is opulent and beautiful and this hotel is no exception. the Italian restaurant on the 18th floor, has wooden decor with sofas and tables in the middle and tables and chairs near the long windows in case you want an outside view. they have outside seating as well with a few tables and chairs and direct view of the adjacent road. while the ambience is pleasant, the range in the menu disappointed me! for a vegetarian the options were quite limited. they had only 3 to 4 varieties of pastas! their starters were boring and typical. they didn't even have variety in mocktails except lemonade! I get more variety in other Italian restaurants. even the options available were not very interesting. I was looking to try something different. the staff in the beginning seemed attentive but later became a little indifferent for no apparent reason. I ordered eggplant parmigana as I wanted to try something that I normally don't order in Italian restaurants. it came after a long time and the quantity was very small! taste and presentation were good. one of the few positive things about the experience were the complimentary breads offered with walnut sauce, balsamic oil, and olives stew. it was quite good. however, I was in a dilemma about what to order next as I didn't want a normal pasta, so I asked about pizza since there was no mention in the menu. to my surprise, the staff said they do not have a wood fired oven and just named a few regular type of pizzas. I really wondered which Italian restaurant does not mention pizza in their menu! with not much choice left, I decided to order a mixed exotic veggies in baked in cheese sauce. it sounded interesting when the staff explained the dish but turned out to be ordinary in taste. the cheese sauce was actually chewy hard cheese, left me wondering what sauce they were talking about! with no interest to try another dish, I quickly glanced at the desserts. again limited variety with a lemon tart, pannacotta, and cake. I thought I will better go somewhere else where I will get more variety in desserts. rates are atrocious for the quantity and variety offered. please do not go to this place. you can spend less money and enjoy better variety in other Italian restaurants.

The ambience is beautiful and the staff is super friendly!! Loved the food though ofcourse the quantity, like at any other 5* hotel is disappointing!! But I loved the place and the experience

Visited Caprese restaurant at the Shangri-la Hotel, Vasanth Nagar with my fiancé and friends.
The Tuscan pop-up was a pleasant surprise. I absolutely adored the food, presentation, attention to detail and courteous wait staff. It was an absolute delight.

Last Sunday afternoon, I had the opportunity to visit the restaurant Caprese at the elegant Shangri-La Hotel.Vasanth Nagar. The restaurant is located on the 18th floor of the hotel and has a splendid view of the Bangalore Cantonment. My friends, my fianceé and I collectively decided to take a table in the open space of the restaurant. Immediately after being seated we were informed by the wait staff about the Tuscan pop up. Being an avid Italian food lover, listening to the waiter give detailed description about the appetizers, entrees and desserts was a pure bliss.

At first, we were given a complimentary portion of Italian breads and dips to start off with, soon followed by appetizers such as duck puff cannoli which was remarkably exquisite followed with pasta entrees, were delightful. And for dessert, tiramisu and ginger peach panna cotta were extremely refreshing. And a hat tip to the wait staff for recommending quality wine that rhymed well with the entrees.

With great ambience, fine wine, very cordial wait staff and great attention to detail dishes, my luncheon at the Caprese was a memorable one. I would definitely love to come back to this restaurant with a set of new people who could have the same exquisite experience, preferably for dinner, would not want to miss out on some fine dinning experience coupled with the Bangalore night light. Five stars indeed!

Located on the 17th Floor of the fabulous Shangri-La hotel, Caprese is a tastefully decorated restaurant serving Mediterranean and Italian cuisine. We went there on Valentine's day, and the restaurant was packed. Note : Recommend prior reservations when visitng here on holidays, as we noticed walk-ins had to wait quite a bit before getting a table.

The restaurant itself is very chic, and the staff is extrement courteous and friendly. A lady was assigned to our table immediately, and she took our Starter order of Truffle Calzone, and Pollo pinchillitos (Chicken), and recommended the Big Wave as a mocktail.

We were given a complimentary portion of Italian breads and dips to start off with, soon followed by the 2 starters. Both the starters were amazing. The mascarpone cheese in the Calzone, and the sauce in the Chicken dish were mind-blowing. And also worth mentionining are the portion sizes, which were very decent.

After the starters, we only had room left for 1 Main course, because we definitely didn't want to miss the much-famed Tiramisu !! We ordered the Pan Fried Sea Bass - and Oh Boy !! It was so damn good, that I literally cleaned off the plate. The fish was fried to perfection - crispy skin but very delicate and soft inside. And the cauliflower puree was so smooth. This was probably the best fish I have had in Bangalore till date !!

And then came the Tiramisu. Oh, what to say about this dish !! Just the presentation itself is enough to wow you, with all the components served separately, and then assembled on your table !! The huge glass had a couple of ladyfingers laid down, and then dollops after dollops of whipped mascarpone, topped with mind-blowing coffee liquor and then some chocolate shavings.
Each spoon of this desert was other-wordly !! Just the combination of all these items was enough to declare this as the best Tiramisu in Bangalore.Period.

Overall, it was an awesome expirience at this place, and I would highly recommend to try Caprese out.

Loved the ambience. The staff were very courteous and attend to you at every instance.
The food
The Mediterranean soup - was full of fresh ingredients and held up
Assorted breads with their dips- freshly baked , so loved them
Ravioli and Spaghetti pasta - fresh ingredients but felt they were lil bland
Desserts - tiramisu and the berry sundae were both out of this world.
Prices on the higher side but worth it.
Recommended

We visited this wonderful place on our anniversary evening . The place on 18th floor seemed perfect to us on that day with glasses of champagne . As suggested by them we ordered TAPAS with choice of meats , Risotto with king prawn , pan fried sea bass . My husband really liked TAPAS . Risotto rice was nice n creamy , prawn was a real king :P but the winner dish was the pan fried fish . We enjoyed every bite of it . Then tiramisu came on the table and won our hearts . Best of the bests I ever tested . Looked perfect , tested authentic . Great place , great people , nice ambience , best hospitality . I would really recommend . And what I have to mention , they nicely decorated our table with rose petals and candles to make us feel special and a complementary cake too . Thanks much .

Ordered pumpkin soup, involtino of vegetables, homemade ravioli, pan fried sea bass fish, Rigatoni and berry berry panna cotta in dessert.
Each dish was was good with special mention of pumpkin soup, Ravioli and panna cotta.
Liked the ambience and service a lot. View is also very good.
Complementary breads were also good.

Just yesterday was when I visited this perfect place. Rather than going with the menu my partner and I decided to go with our palates and ordered for Calamares fritos, variazione di gamberi and fish and chips. Portion was perfect to our tummies and we were done with these. Now the taste had its perfection that made us enjoy every single bite and finally the service was undoubtedly the best. Guys a must try restaurant that has great people, amazing ambiance, quality food and hospitality at its best. At times 18th Floor seems better than 30th Floor if you understand what I mean 😝

Habitually, I tend to write long-winded sentences, dotted with many-a-punctuations. With Caprese, I'm not going to do that. Much has been said already, so let's cut to the chase. I liked the bread basket. I did not care at all for the roasted pumpkin soup. The Mezze platter made me unhungry. But then came the Tiramisu and things changed. Unconstructed. Unlike the other establishments that pot it in a shot glass or slice it like cake. Ladyfingers (not bhindi), mildly drenched in coffee and rum, were covered with generous dollops of mascarpone, drizzled with a sticky syrup of cocoa and coffee and rum - at the table. To say it was sensational would be a massive understatement. So, the hefty price I paid was at least worth that Tiramisu.

The ambience is terrific- and I say this very lightly. It's located on a higher floor, with glass walls, so you get to view the vast Silicon Valley(Seriously, who came up with that name for Bangalore!?) If you're working a blue collar job, my guess is you'd be getting the same view from your office building. So yeah, clap, clap for the "marvellous" view. The hotel itself is like a jewellery store, everything is golden, much to the chagrin of James Hilton.

The valet parking is very nice. So are the bathrooms. The chairs are very heavy. So if you're glugging down wine and whatnots, pay respect to the chair or it's going to hurt your toes or knees. The service is good, especially the gentleman who made the Tiramisu at the table. He was kind enough to throw in more mascarpone.

Would I go there again? Not necessarily. It'd be a long drive for the Tiramisu.

Wait Staff: Excellent and highly professional. They actually take time to explain each dish, the way it's prepared, ingredients etc... Well informed.

Food: Very tasty. I would recommend the Tiramisu. It was out of the world. Presentation is good. Quantity is filling. Ravioli was really yummy. They have mastered making Pastas. Mocktails were also good.

Ambience: Perfect, has a royal touch to it.

Went here with my sister to have a relaxing, quiet dinner. Lovely ambience, very private and love the outdoor seating!
They have a beautiful collection of wine! We went for a bottle of Chianti Red Wine which was perfect for the dinner. Coming to the food it's authentic Italian and I'm glad it lived upto expectations as Italian is my favourite cuisine !
We ordered chicken bruschetta and calamari.
Portions are pretty big for two people. The bruschetta topping was very rich and delicious appropriate proportion with the bread base! The calamari was just delicious ! Coming to the dessert we ordered Tiramisu and panna cotta which was the highlight of the night ! Would definitely come back to try more dishes and more wine of course !
Unplanned dinner with a friend visiting Bangalore for work and staying at shangrila: she suggested the have a meal here, instead of roaming around the city. The restaurant was almost empty but yet we felt cozy and well attended. I never drink rose wine but I thought to give it a try: excellent choice! We just had starters (salmon bruschetta and veg mezze)but after eating only half of them we felt so full and satisfied! Fresh ingredients and nice presentation. Service was prompt and not invasive. I had a lovely evening !

Wonderful birthday celebration at Caprese.!!!@ Though it was a bit crowdy for a weekday so we sat in the open balcony. One waiter quickly arranged me a sit outside immediately and was veth helpful with suggestions. Place is amazing with lots of exciting options. Specialy I liked the cheese pizza. One cocktail made of curry leaves tasted very different though was a bit overpowering for me but my friend loved it a lot. My recommendation - Ravioli, lava cake.
We dropped in hoping fr a quick dinner but we came out 2.5 hours latter couple of pounds heavier..courtesy - their lavish dishes n soothing environment. People were friendly at their best. A special mention of the ''deconstructed" tiramsu that was "constructed" in front of us.. That was the best part of our dinner.

Yesterday my wife and I went to the Caprese restaurant at Shangri-La Hotel for lunch on my birthday. It was our first visit and it turned out to be an excellent experience. We located the restaurant and booked the table on Zomato on the previous day, we got a prompt confirmation within an hour. Fortunately the restaurant was not too crowded, we got a nice window-side table with a panoramic view of the Bangalore Palace. It is a modern place with a nice relaxed ambience on the top floor of the hotel (18th floor). The service was attentive and knowledgeable, yet not intrusive.

I had a Negroni cocktail, it was excellent. We ordered a green salad and pumpkin soup for starters, followed by Chicken Ballotine and Eggplant parmigiana for mains. The food was delicious with an authentic Mediterranean/Italian flavor and good size portions. The Sous Chef came by to our table to say hello. We ended with a surprise birthday cake provided gratis by the restaurant.

Overall it was a lovely experience. I would highly recommend the Caprese for a nice meal with family, friends or colleagues in a relaxed elegant environment.

Went there recently for a family meal and what drew me to it was the view. Looking down at the expanse of the city from the 18th floor is an experience that makes one bring out the phones and go click click!
Speaking about the food, we ordered Penne Norma, Prawn Risotto and Pan Fried Sea Bass, writing about which currently makes my mouth water. Topping it all of with the tiramisu ended the meal on a sweet note.
Big ups to Chef Wasim for doling out the mouth watering culinary treats and to Mayank Shaw for recommending the food.
Will definitely go back when in Bangalore again!

When I want to escape from local spicy food and to have rich European taste, I sometimes rush to 18th floor in Shangri-La hotel. Here I realize again there are a lot of green in Bangalore city. . Well, food is very nice, and much gentle price comparing with other Shangri-La hotels' restaurants. my recommendation is seafood soup, lamb is also nice with rich flavoring source, and their Tiramisu is so creamy, and could make you fun as well with their unique serving style. In lunch time, their business lunch menu is also valuable to try, you can be satisfied with both quality and quantity.

A view to kill for, Caprese, perched regally in the 18th floor of Shangri La hotel, is redefining elegance and bringing the old world Italian charm to India's high tech city. Walk in to the aroma of rich Italian cuisine, and expect to have only the best. The interiors will import you to an abode of luxury and all-things-fine. There is an outdoor section where you could look out to the Bangalore Palace in all it's glory while sipping a glass of Sauvignon Blanco. There's a place for every person of refined tasted to sit back and enjoy here, for the ones who love an elegantly themed restaurant or for the outdoorsy types and even for the ones who would just love to sit by the bar. The alfresco area is a highly recommended spot.

The chefs are no less than Italian artistas, get a dose of Mediterranean cuisine with the Caprese mezze platter which tantalizes all your taste buds, this would be a perfect blend of Italian ingredients in it's most quintessential form. You can enjoy the savoury taste of Tiramisu. The chefs keep reinventing the cuisines and presenting a myriad delicacy in their menu.

The hospitality is amazing, just what you should expect from a deluxe restaurant. The chefs come out of their way to keep the customers happy. Special mention would go to Chef Mayank for recommending us the Caprese Cake that just melted in our mouth and made us fall in love with this place.

I went to this restaurant because one of friend advised me that they had the best italian food in Bangaluru. I went with my family and sat in P.D.R of resturent because it was raining outside and the restaurant had an cozy feel to it.The best thing about view of place and the seating comfort with mini lamps. Second is the food; we ordered the specialties: lamb with fettucini and stuffed chicken balottin. The sauce on the lamb was good and it was perfectly cooked. The fettucine and vegetables were very aromatic sauce. The stuffed chicken balottin had a lot of flavor, but the jus was more than my expectation. The mashed potatoes was creamy and spinach were also properly season. The service was good; we had three people and enjoy with delicious food .The service people was very carefully and active. I will come back agen.

Thank you .

Regally situated high inside the gorgeous Shangri-la hotel, Caprese is an elegant deluxe-quality Italian restaurant with stunning views of the green Bangalore cityscape. Entering and luxuriating in the large high-ceilinged hotel lobby shimmering with gold, beige-'n'-chrome is an experience by itself. The airy restaurant is classily done up with executive-grade burnished wood and plush furniture while huge windows create marvellous views that I have rarely seen in other establishments - overall an excellent venue especially by daylight for that special outing. The cuisine uses high-quality ingredients with a style and level that is a clear advancement on the mama-mia basics. Weather permitting, there's an adjacent al fresco space invitingly and expansively occupying an oversize balcony deck.

But Caprese's cuisine, since the whole set-up spread-eagled its ambitious wings two years ago, has consciously desisted from post-modern fare - this might soon change. Suresh Hinduja, Bangalore's leading cuisine impresario and a familiar national figure in the specialist circles of cutting-edge gastronomy, hosted a grand luncheon wherein Caprese's eager-to-please staff presented a special six-course meal of cutting-edge Italian cuisine. I had the privilege of being one of the select invited guests. Executive Chef Anurudh Khanna (who oversees the whole hotel's cuisine) and Chef De Cuisine of Caprese, Wasim Raja were assiduous in presenting to us the tastes and insights underlying the food while Resident Manager Rakesh Sethi shared his keen understanding of the industry's nitty gritty.

Even before the food, I very much enjoyed a wonderful cocktail "Her Hype" by the brightly smiling and talented mixologist Jayandran Anthony, which was a chilled exquisite blend of vodka, chenin blanc and the works, superbly presented in a tumbler-size steel bucket adorned with more designer frills.

The first two starters were a cool confident display of Italian umami - a boutique of mozzarella, tomato and parmesan with cameos by olives and aubergine.

Technical acumen then came into play with melting-soft tortinos of mushroom, with mushroom crumble sprinkled over for texture while a burrata sauce formed the white base.

Good-quality grilled prawns marked the first meaty foray but the star of that plate was a shrimp flan, like a super-soft morsel of frittata. The expert touch of spices and fresh embedded prawns in that little cloud of starch created exquisite echoes of aftertaste.

The restaurant had a decent sprinkling of guests for lunch but from what I have seen of other city restaurants like Graze and Caperberry, it suffers from the same problem that afflicts all of Bangalore's nouvelle cuisine places - insufficient patronage. There is uncountable money in the city but regrettably, its cuisine-oriented customers are still hesitant to put Bangalore on the international dining map.

Cut to the mains : The vegetarian main of an 'Involtino' was a entry fit for a masterchef competition - so deceptively simple, yet challenging and elegant it was. Thin tender zucchini strips were wrapped around beautifully rendered aubergine in a rich core of fontina cheese, with creamy tomato sauce at the base. It was all so soft and agreeable you could feed it to a baby but it takes a discerning adult to appreciate the quality of its composition.

Moist, tender Indian seabass had a robustly crunchy crackling-like exterior, with a smooth sauce of saffron blending into mashed potato, my only quibble being that the acidic element needed to slice through those broad savoury waves, was inadequately supplied by lemon foam.

Deconstruction and stylish reconstitution informed the desserts. "Tiramisu" appeared as a galaxy compressed linearly. The central dark 'sun' was a chocolate sphere encasing the cream, while a long streak of biscuit crumble lined the whole set-up. The next dessert was even more enjoyable - deconstructed lime pie, with sharply tasty swirls of lemon curd intertwined with arcs of crunchy pastry.

This was a brilliant afternoon, in a glorious venue with special company and confident evolved cuisine. I hope these next gen offerings find a special section on Caprese's existing menu.

It was my first visit to this restaurant. Located on the 18th floor with a beautiful outdoor seating. The food was very good especially chef wasim went out of his way to delight us. We had an amazing time and a special thanks to Kshitij for his wonderful service. A complimentary cake for my wife's birthday was a nice gesture. Will definitely come back again.

Our first visit here turned out to be the best one in my recent memory. Surely a must visit again. Starting from the fresh breads and sauces that was served generously to the artistic ravioli , everything that came to our plate was wonderfully presented . I asked for a recommendation of dessert and pat came the reply "Tirramissu - Mam you must try it or you gonna miss it" ..... the way it was carefully prepared was a treat to watch, it tasted heavenly too !!!! They even cared to tell how the bar man prepares the coffee flavored liquor in the restaurant .... surely the interactions were even more sweeter...see u guys again .....

A few weeks ago, Restaurant Week India returned for the 6th time! So we couldn’t help but jump at the opportunity of planning our entire week’s meal. Just kidding! However, this did allow us to dine at Caprese at a fraction of the price!

About Caprese

Shying away from its traditional Mediterranean roots, Caprese is a trendy Italian eatery situated on the 18th floor of the swanky new Shangri-La Hotel Bangalore. Expect elegant, simple interiors with a menu to match. Divided into three sections, guests can enjoy a cocktail or meal in either the outdoor lounge, open central bar or the restaurant which offers stunning views of the Bangalore Palace. With an emphasis on engaging diners, the team has developed dishes that are prepared right in front of you, using the highest quality of ingredients. Furthermore, merry making accompanied by fine wines picked by professional sommeliers is guaranteed to add to the experience.

Ambiance

It’s interiors reminded us of something we’d seen in a design book; trendy yet elegant. Another feature we loved were the chic and warm design elements brought in by metal hanging lanterns and wood finished ceilings. Imagine a large space that offers floor-to-ceiling windows and a cosy balcony overlooking Bangalore’s skyline. Whatever the occasion, this multifaceted eatery is sure to have the perfect spot for your get-together.

Special Menu

The chefs at Caprese designed a three-course prix fixe menu that included Antipasti, Primi Piatti and Dolce. From Mediterranean delights to artisinal pastas, the menu surely boasted of the best dishes that their culinary team could deliver.

A sign of Generosity

In Italy, most trattoria’s serve bread before your course as a sign of hospitality. Likewise your meal at Caprese begins with a generous portion of varied breads accompanied with dips on the side. Our favourite combination was the Fougasse with olive tapenade dip and Focaccia with red bell pepper and walnut dip. Oh! nothing like freshly baked goodness.

Antipasti

For our first course we ordered Calamari Fritos & Tuna Pate. A dish served with utmost simplicity, the Calamari Fritos served with garlic aioli sauce was a perfect balance of crunchiness and creaminess. Definitely the best Calamari Fritos in Bangalore!

A Bruschetta inspired by recipes from Southern Italy, the Tuna Pate was an elegant and flavoursome dish. In addition, it was garnished with cherry tomatoes and rocket leaves, creating an illusion of vibrance topped with oodles of freshness.

Primi Piatti

After we were done tantalizing our taste buds with the antipasti, we began with course two of our meal. We don’t remember the last time we got to feast our eyes on such a beautiful presentation of a Pasta. The Spaghetti Carbonara surely won our hearts! Probably the closest it could come to what we had in Italy. Rich and creamy carbonara sauce garnished with pecorino cheese and a crisp slice of smoked bacon truly satisfied our craving. However, we would have loved if it was served with pancetta instead of bacon.

While Prashanth ordered his favourite Italian dish – Tagliatelle con fungi selvatici, he couldn’t stop salivating till it arrived. Cooked in utterly delicious sage butter sauce and sauteed porcini and wild mixed mushrooms, was served al dente style. The pasta is freshly prepared in their kitchens and the tastes make it very evident. The sauce was subtle and didn’t overpower the pasta. Not forgetting the mushrooms were perfetto!

La Dolce Vita

What seemed like the perfect end to the melodious meal were the duo of sinful desserts we ordered. Desserts are a vital part of every Italian meal and the true test of a good Italian restaurant can be judged by it’s Tiramisu. But, we devoured into what we first ordered; the Caprese cake. Their signature chocolate and almond cake served with vanilla ice cream and chocolate ganache was to die for! So light and airy that we gobbled it up in seconds.

Now coming to the Tiramisu. Did it live up to the expectations? Well, it certainly did and probably touched an all time high. Our server presented a plate of deconstructed classic Italian tiramisu which he put together in front of us. What a great way to keep your diners engaged. Thick and indulgent mascaporne cream combined with savoiardi drenched in coffee and kahlua, garnished with cocoa nibs was just exquisite. Tiramisu’s traditionally have a strong coffee base, but this one was subtle and perfect.

At the end of our meal we were in awe of not just the view, but the food too! And we are indeed grateful to Restaurant Week India for making this happen for foodjunkies like us. Make sure you follow them on Instagram to receive notifications on their upcoming season.

Tips:

1. If you’re looking to host a private party or celebrate a special anniversary, speak to the manager about reserving the outdoor terrace lounge.

2. If you’ve got any queries regarding the menu or the drinks list, speak to your nearest waiter for help and suggestions. The mixologist will also happily create a drink for you based on your preferences.

Damage:

(Rs. 2,277.45 for 2 people excluding alcohol)

Restaurant Week India – 3 course meal: Rs. 900 per person

Service charge: Rs. 90

F&B VAT: Rs. 274.05

Service Tax: Rs. 105.84

SBC: Rs. 3.78

KKC: Rs. 3.78

Rating:

Ambiance: 5/5

Taste: 4/5

Service: 3.5/5

Value for money: 4/5

Recommend a try. We will definitely be repeat customers. The service was great and the staff know the Menu. The food better than good. Definitely worth trying the Bruschetta with Salmon, The Pan Fried Sea Bas and the deconstructed Tiramisu.

Caprese in Shangri-La was the place that we visited. It's located on the 37th floor and you have this startling panorama of the city and you get to see Bangalore Palace in all its glory from this height. The lunch affair was started with the complimentary warm bread basket. Since we were a bit late in getting there ravenous would a light word to describe our hunger pangs.
Vegeterian Mezze Platter: 4/5
This huge sized platter came with 4 different types of dips which was served cold along with Falafel, kibbeh, Cheese Fatayer and Kibbeh potato. I'm eating many of the items mentioned here for the first time. I particularly liked the Kibbeh Potato. Found the falafel a bit hard for my liking. But overall it was very delectable.
Homemade baked Gnocchi with eggplant and mozzarella cheese: 3/5
After our stint in Fava, Puja is a converted Gnocchi fan. Gnocchi was soft little potato pillows that just melted in our mouth. This dish is traditionally served with bechamel sauce but we requested it with my all time favorite arrabiata. I would have savored it more if the arrabiata sauce was spicy. It was a bit sweet for my liking.
Tiramisu Espresso with mascarpone cream and marsala wine: 4/5
This is a classic example of how you can eat with your eyes. Almost all the tables that was seated in the restaurant had ordered this and we thought why not join the gang. You are presented with the deconstructed version and it is assembled for you on the table. I must say its not for the faint hearted ones. You have a to be lover of strong coffee to enjoy this dessert. I for one did immensely relish but it was certainly not a dish that Puja enjoyed. So keep that in mind.

The ambience is absolutely stunning. They have a gorgeous sky view of the city coupled with an intricate dining area..inside and outside as a barbecue.
Food is exquisite. I happened to have lunch at the Caprese during the Calabria to Caprese week when the chef Luigi Ferraro had flown down here to amaze us all with his cooking at the hotel. The starters and the main courses are exceptionally good for vegetarians and otherwise. We had the Ravioli and the Tomato tartare along with the Involutini which had an extremely different flavour. If you love authentic Italian then this is the restaurant for you.
However, even if gourmet meals are served in tiny portions, I still didn't like the amount served here. They could be advised to improvise on that.

Had a chance ti visit this restaurant cos of an office get together.
Ambience is good. Nothing much to speak of.
Since ours was a fixed menu, we got few dishes to try. Food was average. The only delicious thing that i would like to mention was the red velvet cake which was superb. Other than that the starters, main course was pretty ok.
Service was very slow. I understand that we had almost occupied the restaurant but this was a pre booked event so it could have been more organised.
I had ask for a refill for drink from 4 different people and yet it took 20minutes for a refill and i was sitting next to the bar counter.

Would not recommend to anyone.

This is easily the best restaurant Shangri-la has. Staff:extremely courteous. Food: generous portions and tasty. Ambience is great too. The dessert I'd say isn't too great.

Caprese is worth commending. The lamb shank, tiramisu is a mouth-watering delight. It's cooked really well. Along with the great food here, one also experiences an amazing view, since the restaurant is on the 18th floor. Not only the service staff but the chefs are also very hospitable and nice. One word, "Do try out the lamb shank out here."

Judging by the 2 dishes that I had - the cebolla bread with queso manchego and Spanish omelette, both were at best ordinary. The Spanish bread was a bit like home made pizza ( which is not necessarily a bad thing) but it most certainly did not have manchego cheese. It was some kind of flavourless disappointing mozzarella. My friends who ate a fried fish appetiser also weren't too impressed. We didn't proceed to the mains as we had filled ourselves with the starters, which failed to impress or inspire enough us to move on to mains. Atmosphere is nice though, as one would expect in a hotel.

Caprese is one of the food place in the Hotel Shangri La, as we all know Shangri La to be one of the 5 star rating hotel in Bengaluru. This resto maintains the decorum of the same.

The ambience is good, they have two seating area, inside and a open sky area. The interiors are good and since we had been during the christmas festival period, the decorations were too good with a huge Xmas Tree.

The staff was good, the food is also good and this place has a small bar counter for the drink lovers. Overall a good place to relish and enjoy a relaxed evening in the amidst of city and traffic. And not to the miss view of city from the 13th floor.

I visited caprese for the first time it was a remarkable experience with a stunning view and a wonderful alfresco complimenting the great food and amazing service....I would highly recommend caprese for an authentic Italian experience

Ambience of this place is a 5/5, and it is a huge reason behind why you should visit Caprese.
The food was a tad bit lesser than our expectations. The pastas were well cooked and delicious, but the pizza was a clear disappointment.
The good thing though, is that they dont have a set pizza menu and let you choose your own toppings!

A plush restaurant with stunning views over the city! Although the interiors looked more European than Italian, it still played it's part well...as for reviewing the food, I only had their caprese cake with ice cream and chocolate sauce which tasted just about average..somehow strangely, when i enquired about their cannoli rolls, most of the staff members dissuaded me into ordering it, saying that it was just average and that it lacked even the basic sweetness even that was required of it and that guests in most cases didn't like it. I personally feel, especially when a restaurant showcases itself to be an autherntic italian restaurant or anything, it is all the more essential for it to focus on getting the local delicacies right to begin with, rather than to just having a long elaborate menu. Well, one good thing was that the tiny bar which was situated right inside gave a nice vibe to the overall atmosphere of the place! it also displayed a few decent malts too! Surprisingly, the place was almost empty, for a Friday night...but most importantly, the staff was thoroughly courteous and kind. I need to definitely try out their food very soon.

I had been there to celebrate my wedding anniversary.. I enjoyed the food and hospitality of Shangri-la ...I highly recommend caprese for there food and ambiance...

Caprese at the Shangrila is another restaurant to add to your list of good Italian places! It's your place to go to if you're looking for a slightly fancy and priced Italian meal, but it doesn't compare to an Alba or a Le Cirque in terms of food or price (both of which are superior).
.
We had the quintessential Italian salad, Caprese (pictured). Once you get over the initial dissappointment of the lack of fresh tomatoes and basil, you get used to the pickled alternatives and throughly enjoy the gooey, fresh Burrata! We also had a meat platter with tenderloin, lamb chops and chicken, served with some mash and sauce (pictured) - a hearty portion of good grilled meat, though the beef could have been rarer! We also tried the Arrabiata which was spicy and delicious. The carbonara as pictured, was creamy and came with generous amounts of bacon. Just like we like it.

Visited Caprese, one of the participants of Restaurant week. Overall experience was great. Ambience very pleasing, with a great view of Bangalore, from the 18th floor!! The 5 course meal with good portions n clean presentation. Orange sorbet, provided as a a palette cleanser before the main course was pleasant. The roasted chicken with creamy mashed potatoes was amazing. Not to forget the homemade ravioli n the two desserts Caprese cake and Chocolate millifoglie...th hazelnut ganache was finger licking good!! Service was attentive and unintrusive. Keeping the infant in mind, we were provided seating in a corner, perfect for us to carry on with baby talk without bothering others enjoying their quiet meal. I'm not sure if outdoor seating is available...if yes, I'm sure that would be a great view of the city. In short, good food n ambience, perfect for special occassions !!
