Review Indian Durbar - Bengaluru

Adair Dmello
Tucked away inside the Conrad is this hidden gem of a restaurant. The manager Guru was extremely friendly and accommodating, top service. The chef was excellent and came out to visit us after the food was served. The food itself was great! Very filling and flavorful, I kept eating after I was full because of how good the food was! Will definitely make this a regular to go to.

Best Indian food I have ever had! Lovely restaurant and staff. My cousin has been looking for the best Indian food in London and has been to many places but this was by far her favourite !

An amazing place for Indian food, especially the Mughlai food lovers. They have dishes from various popular cuisines. The food is extremely good and the dishes have been modernized to taste better. The plating is beautiful too. It’s all about new Indian fine dining. I recommend the Galouti kebabs, Daal Makhani, Murg Angaar, Husainabadi Murgh. The dining space is super nice and comfortable too. The service is excellent.
Anupam Mehra
Delicious food and polite service. Best Mughlai food. The flavors were too good to describe, and the presentation was absolutely convenient. The staff was also friendly and attentive. making our dining experience very enjoyable. Will recommend to all in my group.

Had made reservations for a special occasion at Indian Durbar. Guru and his team were very hospitable and even made some special arrangements for us. The food was mild and pleasing to the stomach. The ambience is an absolute delight. Only scope for improvement could be cleanliness of the chairs. Found a few crumbs on the seats. Apart from this, would recommend this place for a good experience

Bland food... Had great expectation .... Being Indian durbar... Food can be a little more spicy.... Ambience is great... Service is just about okay... Very delayed.. staff can be more responsive...

It's a total WOW feeling from the beginning until the end when we entered this place Indian Durbar Conrad to celebrate my wife's birthday 2nd time in a row and has made it our favorite. We had our favorite dal as always and all the other food what we had was yummy too. The special deal and chicken gravy well recommended it was by the girl staff serving us, thank you. We had a wonderful experience as well as great hospitality by all staff with a smiling face ...... a big shout out to the girl staff serving our table Sejal & Lolia You girls are doing a great job , a big KUDOS to you both specially and all the staff for your kind hospitality and great quick service as required. Sejal thank you for the lovely cake done for my wife and your kindness to join our celebration. Another big shout out to the lovely CHEF who went at each table and our table too to find out that we were comfortable and that we were enjoying our food, which we really were very kind of him. We surely will visit again next week with another group of friends coming from abroad. Love the lovely ambiance of the place too, there was a lovely crowd as well when we did visit yesterday. Set up was well decorated. Thank u all once again.

On Dec 21, 2019, we visited Indian Durbar. It has a good ambience with tasty food. I was little disappointed with slow service. Mocktails were served to us when we were about to finish our food. The mouth freshers were finished and restaurant didn't refilled it upon asking.

Went to the restaurant on new year eve for dinner. Ordered tomato soup, paneer nizami and Amritsar Kulcha.
1. The tomato soup was nothing but rasam with turmeric and other masala in it-where on the earth turmeric/masala is added in tomato soup and but not mentioned in menu? quantity was small, no bread crumbs or butter served along with it. When asked for it, staff somehow managed to provide 'bread powder' and 'ghee like butter' after 15 mins of wait- a poor joke? Indeed. Informed the waitress about poor quality immediately, but received only smile in response. Must never order tomato soup here.
2. next dish, nizami paneer, gravy was in bland taste with a lot of turmeric in it...you can't make things tasty just by mixing a lot of things together! very disappointing taste again, quantity was sufficient for two people though.
Planning to try? Doesn't worth a try!
3. ordered Amritsar Kulcha alongside, the only thing that looked same as ordered and saved some grace.
The ambience is good, but sadly that's the only highlight of this place. The food is quite bland and doesn't worth even half the price; staff is helpless or may be hopeless-with a cryptic smile.
Hilton must do something urgently - pathetic food and hopeless behaviour of staff can't be compensated by ambience.
As it stands today, Indian Durbar is Definitely NOT recommended.

Amazingly delicious food. Loved it !!😊😊 Equally good ambiance and service. Serving staff were very nice and served us the food with so much love. 👍
Radhika Tulsyan Choukhany
The staff are not well trained, and not well behaved. The staff who was serving us had no idea when I had asked her which was the best dish, she was asking me to order for Gobi matar ki sabzi . I mean who goes and order gobi matar ka sabzi in a 5 star restaurant.
Soshan Soma
I had come with my family for lunch. They did not have ala carte. Then we had to order Set Menu. It was simply wow. Each and every single item was great. Basha was a great host. He also suggested us a great Wine seeing us confused which turned out to be really good.
Over all amazing experience.
Good for small family get together and office meetings.
Aashish Kedia
The hotel good and it's hospitality is great. Loved the restaurant.

Visited this place with family, a quite place good to family chit chat , nicely done interiors. The staff is very attentive and the service is good.

Coming to food the menu has some really unique items, very common items in North Indian kitchens but seldom made in the restaurants.

The food portions and quality was good. Pricing wise I cant say its is pocket friendly but surely value for money. When you dining at Conrad you know what you are in. Saying that I am not disappointed with food and its was priced well for it. To top it Zomato gives you gold option so one should definitely try it.

Planning to visit again for the Thali.

Good place for some special event.

Visited this place yesterday for birthday celebration for which had booked the table one day prior and they arranged the table with rose petals which looked so beautiful that I couldn't take my eyes off. Ambience was Class and Royal. Coming to the food which was par excellence. The Paneer starter was cooked perfectly so was the biryani with lot of aroma in it. Service was exceptional. Special thanks to the staff - Lolia, Basha, Sahil, Fairly & Bibash who made sure that we enjoyed the dinner and also got the cake in such beautifully organised on the table just loved that. They actually made us feel special. Coffee flavour ice cream is what I hate but here they served us complimentary and It was so tasty that I had it completely. Thanks to the Indian Durbar staff once again. Would love to visit again.

Visited here on account of my Birthday, and must say was some of the best food I've eaten. We opted for the veg set menu option. The staff was very polite and helpful. The starters were well presented and tasty. The main course especially the dal makhni was out of the world. Would definitely recommend this place!

The set menu Buffet at INDIAN Durbar is very good , specially kebabs ,mutton Gouluti & Biryani is awesome
Even Desserts are very good like Jamoon and Ras malai , The staff is very courteous and service is superb

Had been there for a special occasion, gotta say that it wasn't disappointing. Located in the heart of the city welcoming you to a royal treatment of luxury dining with an elegant decor and sumptuous food.

Food : 4/5
Decor : 4/5
Service : 5/5
Garima Bansal
The food is good but very heavy. We ordered the subs sikhampuri Chaat, it is a live chat and really good. This was followed by main course of deal and paneer which were decent. In desserts we ordered the Mirchi ka halwa which is a chef recommendation but was very dissapointing. It was way too sweet and taste of capsicum was extremely overpowering. The coffee ice cream is a must try!!

Ambience rating: 4.5
Service rating: 4
Food rating: 3.5

The experience was good definitely, but the taste of deserts are not good if you will look at the price definitely not at all.
Had 1700 rupee Veg-Platter
What I did not like was:
The veg platter was limited to a single diner. However, the varieties and quantities served is far too much for one diner in my opinion, and therefore should be available to be shared between at least two diners. We were advised that one platter meal serves one diner and so we ordered multiple other items on the menu which was just too much for us to finish and not everything could be packed. I hate wasting food and so this was a big detractor for me.
Chandini Haridas
Had been to Indian Darbar for my mom's bday. We had an amazing experience and evening. We had the set menu both veg/non-veg. All the dishes served were amazing. The galouti kebab (mutton and mushroom) was the best of the lot.

We were given a complimentary cake which was a very sweet gesture in the end.

Sahil helped us with the dishes and was absolutely prompt in service. Special shout-out to him and the team at Indian Darbar.
Tamanna Kathotia
Very friendly staff , the chef himself greeted us and took our recommendations. The quality of the food is to its level. We even got a complimentary PAN ICE CREAM which was newly introduced in their menu and it tasted divine. Will definitely visit again.

A few days ago, I indulged in an authentic culinary extravaganza of royal culture of ancient Indian Empires in the style of Durbar-e-Shahi and felt nothing less than an empress!

Chef Akhilesh and Chef Iftiyaq have specially curated and brought the royal kingdoms of India together under one roof introducing a new menu showcasing the best of cuisines from Awadh empire, Rajputana Empire, Sailana Empire, Peshwa Empire, Kashmiri Empire, Patiyala Empire, Hydrabadi Empire and Gupta Empire.
Gypsyneel
The new menu from the royal kitchens of India is definitely worth trying. The Paya soup was just right. Angara Chicken is definitely the star. Plenty options in terms of Veg / Non Veg to choose from.

FOOD - 4.5
Service - 5

Absolutely pocket friendly for a 5 star hotel.
Ritika
Love the ambiance of the place. The staff and the chefs were very friendly. Should try Giloti kabab. The location of the place is also suitable for office get togethers.
The Indian Durbar delights on all fronts. The decor is royal, service attentive and food is regal. Had the set menu and it was top of the line. The kebabs were cooked to perfection and had just the correct amount of spices. The mains were equally good and wrapped up with a Rasmalai and Gulab Jamun. Well done to the entire team at the Conrad.

Located on the ground floor of the Conrad Hotel in Ulsoor, Indian Durbar is one of the royalist restaurant I have ever visited in Bangalore. As soon as you enter this place, you get a complete regal feel from the interiors to the kitchen to the dress code of the staff.

I visited this place to try their new menu for the royal Indian food festival which includes the specialties from the realm of Awadh, Rajputana, Peshwa, Kashmiri, Patiyala, Hydrabadi and few more to add to the list hand-selected by Chef Akhilesh and Chef Iftiyaque.
We started with some Galouti kebab which was made with lamb, served over ulta-tawa paratha and was the softest kebab I've ever had. Chukandar aur kele ka gular was another unique dish made with beetroot, banana and stuffed with cheese. Then we had the soyabean seekh and bhatti da kukad which were skewered and served royally.

We also had few cocktails like tamarind mule, cumint, rum panna, mango gini tini which were prepared by Pallavi and I just loved the tamarind mule.

Heading to the main course, we had dum ka murgh straight from Awadh, nalli nihari and haleem which was one of my favorite here. the paronthia naan and durbar-e-dal were the best accompaniments we could ever have with our meal.

For desserts, we had durbar flavours which was a huge plate of mirchi ka halwa, mysore pak, rasmalai, phirni and few more assorted desserts.

Do visit this place for some royal feels as well as cuisine and do let me know how you liked it.

A beautiful speciality restaurant in the Massive Conrad .. Had a Royal feeling going on as we were pampered with rose water to wash our hands and hot towels at the end of our meal ..
The food was outstanding. Everything we ordered turned out to be great ... The star dish for me was “Kumbh Ki Galouti”. Just melts in your mouth...
Also the complimentary Orange Chutney was amazing and quite unique ..

We were celebrating my mums birthday and they got her a cake. Also offered us Their Signature Filter Coffee Ice Cream which was out of the world .. Haven’t had such smooth ice cream for a very long time ..
Special shout out to their staff.. Hospitality is something they do not take lightly. Mr Bibhash kept checking upon us and also got a sugar free dessert for my mom who is diabetic..

We will be returning back for sure..
Thank you “Indian Durbar”

It was a pleasant Bengaluru weather with cool breeze bringing down the temperature – a perfect evening for a date. Had heard about the launch of the new menu at Indian Durbar, Conrad Bengaluru, so thought of exploring the rich cuisine of some of the royal Indian kingdoms. The menu consists of cuisines from Indian empires like Awadh, Rajputana, Patiala and Hyderabad.

The restaurant’s ambience impressed me at first sight. The textured wall in golden hue instantly gave a feeling of royalty. The open kitchen (in a five-star hotel) caught my attention too.

We chose a corner table and settled down. We asked for a few cocktails - chilli guava, raw mango and mojito. My personal favourites among the three were the raw mango and the mojito. The mojito had a twist of secret Indian spices which was a surprise element.

The restaurant seems to follow the traditional practice of cleansing the hands with rose water at the table before one can start dining. For starters, we asked for Kandhari Murg, Mushroom Galouti Kabab and Kela Aur Beet ki Saami. With rough texture of tandoor on the outside, it was surprising to see that the chicken was extremely soft and juicy on the inside. As someone who stays away from veggies, the Kela Aur Beet ki Saami became an instant favourite.

Coming to the main course, we loved the Dal Makhani and Dum Ka Murg which we paired up with chef special roti made of poppy seeds, dry nuts and saffron.

We were stuffed till our throat but who doesn’t have space for desserts. We tried their Paan Ice cream and Rasmalai. Every bite of the Rasmalai was soft-as-sponge (a must try). This was the first time I was trying the Paan Ice cream and I wasn’t disappointed. It was quite interesting in terms of flavours.

A special mention to Mr Amandeep for his service. We felt at home with him taking care of us, so, thank you and Sous Chef Ishtiaque Alam for curating some magical flavours and presenting each dish with his heart. Thank you for taking time out and explaining each dish and its speciality.

Visited first time Indian durbar with family and our dining experience was very good. Dishes like dahi ke kebab, kandhari murgh, dal makhni and filter coffee ice cream are recommended and must try dishes. Service was great and i would love to visit again.
TheLightAndStyle
In starters we had Dahi k Kabab, which were not that good in taste as instead of hung curd in them we felt grated paneer/cottage cheese is used, which just changed the entire flavour.

Then we moved to main course where we had Awadhi Dum ka paneer with assorted bread basket. The paneer gravy was not good at all as there was no taste of exotic flavours.

We had 2 drinks which were good.

When the chef came for the feedback we told him about the lack of flavour in food, on which he nicely explained us on why the paneer gravy which was supposed to be Lucknow style is supposed to be like this only.

As a gesture he even offered to try another gravy, which was definitely better than the one we ordered.

Then as it was my birthday , chef gave us filter coffee ice cream as a gesture.

Its good to visit, but we very clear with the choice of dishes.

This restaurant is a real gem. Great atmosphere, super service and great food. The food for me was carefully balanced and not overpowering with chilli, equally not too many spices either. Eaten here twice now and if I was staying longer certainly go back again.

Anirudh B Balotiaa (me2oofoodie)
The name is deceiving.

As much as the royal the name is, the whole experience has been quite the opposite and very shoddy and pathetic.

It's a place where I will never go again even if I don't need to pay for it. I had rather fast for a meal than have a meal here.

Location - Conrad, Ulsoor

Reservation - I had booked via Dineout, got 50% off on Food bill and hence the pain was less. Had I paid the full amount, it would have been a criminal waste.

Ambience - Looks plush, but very dull, only 2-3 staff which gives and an indication of how fewer footfalls this place gets.

Service - Pathetic. Was seated at 8:30 PM, we left at 9:50 PM and we ordered exactly 1 Soup, 1 Starter, 1 Daal and 2 pieces of bread (Amritsari Kulcha and Millet Roti). We placed the order for main-course at 9 pm and after repeat reminders, we got it at - 9:45 PM. How much times does it takes to make Black Daal 2 Pieces of breads?

Food - What we ordered :

1 Tamatar Dhania Shorba - Full of red chilli powder, hardly palatable.

1 Dahi Ke Kebab - Horrible. It such basic dish is so many Indian restaurants and surprised that a 5-star can mess this up. This was fried, kebabs are inherently supposed to be made in the tandoor.

1 Daal - Ok

1 Amritsari Kulcha - left 70% of it as it was like eating raw flour.

Total damage - Rs. 1196 (this after 50% off food bill deal on Dineout).

Regret wasting money here.

Neither I intend to go back here nor I would recommend anyone to go here.
Saloni Singh
Stale and substandard food that we landed up with stomach infection. We ordered fish, lamb and malai kofta (highly recommended dish at this place). Lamb was like rubber and the curry was tasteless, the malai kofta was watery and without any flavours and the fish was stuffed with red chilli powder. Upon giving them feedback, the chef suggested that we change the order and that he suggested that we go with the restaurant speciality - butter chicken and paneer. Both the dishes were terrible and it felt like there are no quality checks in place at this restaurant!
Shreya B
Food was stale... Service was bad..Would not recommend this place to anyone.
Went there for a someone's birthday.. The malai kofta was so watery. The roti and kulcha were cold and hard. Definitely not worth the time and money

To be described in three words -

Beautiful Ambience, Delicious Food, Wonder Hilton Service! :)

Lots of veg options is a plus point!

Should not miss “Paneer Khaas” - it’s their signature dish!

The restaurant is good. But the service is average. Certainly not the one that you'd expect from Hilton. The food was stale. Food tastes average.

Been there for dinner with family and friends. It’s an exotic place which really serves a great food. Even you can order gluten free Indian breads and lot more. Table reservation is a must as it’s being new place within Conrad Hotel and very centrally locate at a stones through away from 1 MG Mall. Food is Superb along with Ambience and Service being great too!

We landed at this place as Tiamo their rooftop restaurant was closed due to rains.

The experience started on a bit of negative note where we were guided to Tiamo without even telling that's its closed due to rains.

We were then taken to Indian Durbar for some North Indian food. Place has a grand ambience and bit cold service staff.

In starters we had Dahi k Kabab, which were not that good in taste as instead of hung curd in them we felt grated paneer/cottage cheese is used, which just changed the entire flavour.

Then we moved to main course where we had Awadhi Dum ka paneer with assorted bread basket. The paneer gravy was another major let down as it was lacking flavours and was not good at all.

We even head two drinks, one was strawberry smoothie and other some Mocktail which were good.

When the chef came for the feedback we told him about the lack of flavours in food, on which he nicely explained us on why the paneer gravy which was supposed to be Lucknow style is supposed to be like this only.

As a gesture he even offered to try another gravy, which was defenitely better then the one we ordered.

Overall an average experience.

Visited this place for an event and tried their buffet which was overall good. Posting the pictures for the same. Not giving a detailed review of anything as it was a buffet spread I am not sure whether they had arranged it or a third party caterers. But overall I liked the food. And ambiance of course it was very amazing

Food - 2.5/5

Ambience - 4.0/5

Service -3.0/5

Must Try - Biryani

Clue - Portions of the food is too less. Starters were a big turn off. Papads were served cold. Main course was better with decent breads and paneer. 2.5 points is for the Veg Biryani, which was tasty.

I went there with my friends on a Saturday evening. I must say it's a different class restaurant. Of course not for casual dinning. We went with the buffet. The taste was good and could feel the effort of the chef in the dishes prepared. One of my favorite is brocolli BBQ (I guess the name was different in the menu). Ambience and staff behavior was perfect. And desserts were a cherry on the cake. I recommend this place in case your pocket is heavy.
Overall rating -
Food - 5/5
Ambience - 5/5
Staff and Service - 5/5
Prices - 4/5

-nympheye

There seems to be this thing about establishments at the Conrad that they are unnaturally brightly lit like a banquet hall and not a fine dining place. This is the second place I noted in less than a week. We decided for an early dinner and were quickly seated in a booth. After asking to reduce the overhead lighting, we ordered beers and appetizers. The beer was at the perfect temperature and the appetizer was alright as well. For mains we tried biryani which was very ordinary and a bit of a let down. The service is attentive though a bit too much intruding repeatedly (probably inexperienced). It’s probably early days for this place, but they need to get lighting right, get some music in and differentiate their dishes.

The newly opened Conrad, Bengaluru is surely a beautiful property with a staff who are attentive to every detail and kind and receptive to feedback. It is on their suggestion that I tried the Chicken Biryani at Indian Durbar. It started with some papad and salad with 3 varieties of chutney, while I waited for my biryani to arrive. The chutney! Delicious!! While there was the regular mint and coriander chutney on offer, the yogurt and cumin dip and the spiced orange chutney are what I couldn't stop eating with whatever was available. They were truly well made. If only o could get them packed in a jar and keep getting a spoonful... Anyway. Let's not get stuck at this. I then was served another delightful drink, orange and chilli mocktail, with a touch of fizz. That is somethign i again cant seem to get my mind off. And it worked very well with my main course. The biryani. It came with the side of a raita, a bit more runny than I would expect but it didn't matter. The biryani was moist and juicy. Subtle but well rounded flavours. Moist chicken, which was boneless so easy to eat, was in good quantity and not pulled off the bone too small, which I appreciated. This was a biryani that didn't need accompaniments. If it is a Moist biryani with long grains of rice, not too heavy on the spices, and enjoyed in its own full flavour and not with the necessary salan, then this is the place to visit. meanwhile, i shall await another chance to try the rest of the menu that sounds mouth watering :)

I had mixed reactions when i dined here with friends... Decor seemed grand with a unique setting but somehow lacked finesse with the furnishings. Service was warm & cordial but there was lack of proper coordination amongst staff members and there was a little confusion is terms of different staff members taking the order. Food was certainly above average, but wouldn't term it great or anything. A little fine tuning to make the gravies more aromatic and a bit of glazing of butter naans would go a long way.. Wine selection was commendable although food menu wasn't that elaborate.. Overall, i would recommend dining here, but with improvements!
