Review Phobidden Fruit - Bengaluru

A lazy afternoon at work led us here. I liked the ambience and cozy atmosphere. We ordered - Appetizers : Crispy Spring Roll and Iceberg Wrap (Both Chicken). Both tasted good and the accompanying sauces complimented the dish Main course : Vietnamese Chicken Curry (which came with rice portion of salad and potato fritters). Beverages : Snow White and Blue Lagoon (Litchi and Ice apple surprised us) Service is quite quick and staff are very courteous.

Beautiful place and assorted menu. Please try their charcoal grill, it's worth every penny! I tried their in-house kombucha which was really good. The veg pho is a 3.5⭐ for me. Loved their coconut pudding!

If you ever feel like having Vietnamese food in Bangalore, this is the place to be. Went to this place with a friend who suggested it, and it turned out to be as the trend is on now - "just like a wow". The food was great, the ambience and the service was even better. Probably one of the perfect places for your date nights. We went to that place on a weekday and probably saved ourselves from the rush this place is known for, especially weekends. But in the end you can be sure of leaving the place with satisfied taste buds and a happy tummy.

An amazing culinary journey taking you to Vietnam... The decor is warm and welcoming with no false pretense or faux viet decor. The highlight is the food and the food always takes centre stage here and has never disappointed to date. The depth of flavours in their dishes always hits the spot and leaves you satiated. The staff is attentive and service is quick. They also have a beer licence and there are multiple beers on tap. If you are looking for a cozy date night or a friends get together thisbis one place that will leave you coming back for more...

While the Vietnamese cuisine may not be entirely authentic, the restaurant in Bengaluru has made sincere efforts to acquaint locals with the Vietnamese culinary style. Our experience included trying the Banh mi and momos. Although the Banh mi had good bread, a more generous filling would have enhanced the experience. The momos' portion size was satisfactory, and the coconut dessert drink complemented the meal nicely. The cozy ambiance, adorned with numerous beautiful house plants in one section, creates a mini garden-like atmosphere upon entering.

I was floored by the ambience and absolutely clean bowled by the food! This has to be my favourite restaurant now in Bangalore. I always considered Dyu art as my favourite but this has easily surpassed it. Absolutely gorgeous interior and lip smacking food! I tried their chicken pho, cold coffee, coconut pudding, chicken in sambal and a vietnamese roll and every item was cleaned up in seconds! 5/5 definitely and I’m coming back t

I recently visited Phobidden Fruit with team during lunch and we had a great experience. Starters: The Stir-fried corn and potato fritters are a crispy and savory dish. They are made with corn, potatoes, and spices. Mains: Pho - it’s a rice noodle soup meal made from a long brewed broth served with fresh herbs and spices, it literally felt like burst of flavours Peanut sate curry - Creamy delicious peanut curry is so delicious that words can do justice we had it with rice Desserts: Coconut pudding - in pandan leaf and flower cream , I would say the shows-stopper definitely a must try . Drinks : Kambuchas - we tried so many Spice and Flower-based kombucha, is a refreshing and flavorful drink. It is made with a blend of spices and flowers, and it has a slightly sweet and sour taste, great way to start meal or to cleanse palate after a heavy meal. Overall, we had a wonderful experience at Phobidden Fruit. The food was delicious, the service was excellent, and the atmosphere was cosy and stylish. We would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a great Vietnamese meal in Bangalore.

Went as a group of 3 for Sunday lunch. Didn't have to wait for a table. Ambience was visually enjoyaboe with the din lighting and a side with plants. Music was fitting but the surrounding chatter was very loud. Order was taken promptly and food was served in 5-10 minutes. Starters - Stir fried vegetables were fresh and in a tasty sauce, was surprisingly filling. Summer rolls were so refreshing, left me wanting more. Main course - Mekong momos were a decent serving and the mushroom filling was alright. Saigon noodle were very tasty, came with a peanut sauce. One of the managers even taught us how to use the chopsticks, which was sweet. Beverages - bangalore blue grape Kombucha was an interesting try. Jasmine iced tea and lemongrass iced tea tasted beautiful.

One of Bangalore’s best Restaurants for Vietnamese cuisine. The Prawn Pho is highly recommended. Each spoon of the broth is full of flavor. Good service and nice ambiance.

Absolutely loved the flavours in the food. Tried the summer rolls, stir fried veggies and the bahn mi. The Belgian Wit was also quite good. Would love to visit again

Amazing place with an equally amazing level of food and ambience. The pho is absolutely delicious and the coconut panna cotta is the star of this place! If you love Vietnamese cuisine, check out this place.

It’s a 10/10 place! This has been my go to place for a calm and peaceful meal. - The Vietnamese Chicken wings is the most ordered item by me from the menu. - The Pho is soulful! - Mekong Momos are a must!! - I tried the rice paper Summer rolls and they’re phenomenal!

The place is nice and cosy. If you like Vietnamese food then this certainly is a place that lives up to it.. Try the veg spring roll and the coconut pudding 😁.. The vibes are certainly top-notch.. With good music and good food it's a great place to catch up with friends and family and have good conversations..

10/10 would recommend. Authentic Vietnamese cuisine, decent ambience and good service. The only problem we had was with trying to get parking in Indiranagar, so be prepared for that. Would definitely revisit, everything we got was great. We got a couple of drinks, some pho, banh mi, Vietnamese curry and everything was excellent. If you’re looking for a place that serves some authentic Viet-cuisine, look no further.

Nice ambience and sitting is comfortable. Food is also good but takes time to serve. Also, portion is small/less. No valet parking. Overall OK.

I've been going here since the last 7 and a half years and they never disappoint! Excellent food, the best Vietnamese food in Bangalore (possibly the country) and an ever so courteous owner who pays personal attention to diners. I would keep coming here for the rest of my life! You won't notice the drastic changes that happen behind the scenes but I have seen that they have delivered against all odds! Kudos!

Have been wanting to stop by this joint for a long long time and finally made it on Sunday noon. Ambience is really nice, very cosy, very green. We ordered the following :

Red River Riot : Calamari
Viet Ribs
Pho (V)
Pho ( Beef)

Honestly this is the first time I am trying Vietnamese food and maybe its me and my palate but I wasn't impressed. The Calamari was the only thing that I liked, but nothing extraordinary. The Ribs were alright, cooked fair, slightly chewy. All I could get from this was a hint of black bean and lots of sweet. Coming to what I always wanted to try = the Pho ... People have been raving about pho for so long I thought this might be a phenomenal dish. However, it failed to impress. Maybe its not authentic, maybe its not meant for me. My partner felt the same - it was just too bland, lacking any real flavours. I will give this dish a chance again though, have to understand what the hype is all about !

Service was good !
Daksh Tawakley
Excellent authentic south east Asian food here. Must haves are the butter corn, the lamb and the mushroom pho.

I returned for the amazing pho and like always it was delicious. I tried the chicken banh mi as well and the chicken was perfect, tender and juicy and perfectly seasoned, I would change nothing. I would give the papaye salad a pass. I docked one point for 45 minutes that we had to wait for our food to arrive while we starved 😄. Would come back again for the pho.

Phobidden was selling to packed crowds on Saturday night. One of the locals told us that it has been a crowd favourite forever.
We were super happy to get an outdoor roof table.
Absolutely loved the summer rolls, garden rolls, spring rolls, momos, lemongrass soup, pho, smoky noodles, tamarind and pineapple rice.
Brilliant service, warm staff, amazing place.
Highly recommend visiting this place if you love Asian food at all! 😁

Phobidden Fruit is a fine dine restaurant in Indranagar serving vietnamese cuisine. The menu of this restaurant is kind of tough for the ones who have never tried this cuisine before. However the best part is that they have provided full description of all dishes.
This is all we ordered-
Garden Roll - it is a lettuce 🥬 roll filled with crunchy vegetables with a combination of flavourful sauce.
Banh mi - it is a layered vietnamese sandwich filled with vegetables, potato and herbs.
Pho - this was the best part of our meal and also a must try. Pho is an aromatic rice noodle-soup 🍜 meal containing bunch of fresh herbs and served with sauce dips.

The food here was really exotic and par expectations. It was a must go place. Pho was a delight to eyes and taste buds as well.
Also the ambience of this restaurant is a real delight.
Food- 5/5
Ambience- 5/5
Service- 5/5

Food - 5
Staff - 5
Ambience - 5
Situated in Indiranagar.
This food joint serves u a good variety of Vietnam Cuisine.
We went for Vietnamese Coffee which i felt that it was nothing new, similar to expresso with double shot of coffee liquor.
Saigon Noodles tasted good specially they served a special sauce which went well with the noodles.
Chicken Banh Mi is like Vietnamese Version of French Baguette filled with salad greens and chicken with a special dressing.
Overall i love their ambience and their quick service.
A good experience!
Rinaya Jena
Visited this place for Christmas and spent nearly 3 hours!! This place is great for Asian cuisine lovers.
My recommendation is to skip the chilli beef & squid salt and pepper that we had ordered. It was disappointing.
Go for the summer roll with prawn and the grilled meat in lettuce cups (chicken is what we tried).
The ambience is rather calm and cozy... Pretty sure we were the only loud table that night.
Would love to visit again.

The coffee was terrible. We’ve been to Vietnam and I make Vietnamese coffee at home. Every day for the last 8 months. They serve us some blend that is not even close to what we drink at home, let alone in Vietnam. The manager was rude, claims that that’s how they’ve been making coffee for 9 years. Beats me! The summer rolls and the pork ribs were nice. The banh mi had mayo in it. It should have pate which was non-existent. The pho lacked any aroma or flavour, the only solace was the beef was of decent quality. When I was serving the pho in an extra bowl because we were sharing, the staff didn’t pay any attention and kept clearing the bowl. If you are looking for something authentic, this isn’t the place.

One of the first to bring Pho to the city I think. Great menu but the Pho doesn't come close to how Pho should be.
Shwetha Cunigal
Went here for lunch two days ago and really enjoyed our meal. We’ve been here before and loved it last time so we went back. We were very disappointed that most of the nice outdoor seating areas were closed on a weekday afternoon as the weather was perfect to sit out.
The food was delicious. We had the summer rolls, veg pho, avocado bahn mi and chicken red curry rice. We really enjoyed our food. Hope to visit again soon.

If you’re looking for Vietnamese food , Phobidden Fruit is the place to go to for sure , and be sure to be quick as it’s a place loved by many people.
Something really unique about this restaurant is that they maintain the taste , quality of the food , rather consistently, which by the way not many restaurants can achieve , speaking in terms of the type and number of restaurants I’ve been too .
The interior makes you feel as if you are present in Vietnam .

Phobidden Fruit is a Vietnamese joint on the busy 12th Main in Indiranagar. We went for lunch and wanted to keep it really basic. So the order comprised one chicken pho and one prawn pho. Both were good (per my friend, the prawn one was good, not remarkable though). Portion size is more than good for a person and the accompaniments did add a nice zing to the pho (try the red chillies and the sauce!).

Staff is good - left us to our own with plenty of time to talk. Did not recommend anything to go with the course / check how the food was, but I guess that is good - can end up not working for some that need a no-nonsense private meal.

Will be going back to try more, esp. given the proximity to home!

No bulls on food. They give what they say. The menu is defined but serves correct proportion. Try out once, won’t regret.

A good place for all the Vietnamese cuisine lovers. Authentic food with good ambience. The food is very fresh and good. Must try thier spring rolls !

A lovely warm place to have Vietnamese cuisine. There are many options in menu from appetizer to dessert. Ordered Chicken momo, pork ribs, chicken pho. All the items were delicious and yummy . The price is reasonable. Went on weekend, crowded on weekends and they don't take any prior reservations on weekends. Usually waiting time of 5-10 minutes maximum.

One of the best places to go if you love Vietnamese food. The grilled meat in lettuce cups and the seafood red river riot are the appetizers I always order. Could fill your belly on just starters or try their meals that come paired with rice or the soup bowls which are equally delicious as well.
Dipika Vaidya
It's a dainty place that can be easily missed if you don't look around carefully. Extremely authentic food and flavors! We tried the green papaya salad, red river riot prawns, prawn pho, and chicken iceberg wrap. I have to admit the quantity was a quite a lot just for the two of us. The food was simply awesome and we continued hogging despite being full to the brim. The decor is minimal and very classy. The only thing I found a bit weird was that they serve only Beer - nevertheless, that did help chase the spicy prawns. The staff was quite courteous too. It was a good dining experience overall.

Phobidden Fruit is a quaint little restaurant and it's perfect to head out for a date or even with family. There are very few places that serve authentic Vietnamese cuisine in Bangalore and this is one of them.

Prawn Summer Rolls - 10/10
Beef Pho - 10/10
Chicken Pho - 6/10 (Trust me, you wouldn't want your pho with any other meat but beef)
Pork Mekong Momos - 8/10
Vietnamese Coffee - 9/10 (PS: It's really strong!)

Bonus: It doesn't burn a hole in your pocket and you really get what you pay for!

FYI - It helps if you make a reservation because they're generally packed during the weekends.

This place caters to Vietnamese cuisine
Food:For starters:we tried Hanoi lamb and beef chilli both were good and the flavour of the food was so nice.Banh Con was not good at all.
Main Couse:we had Saigon noodles and smoky noodles which was ok.We also had peanut sate curry which was fine.
The quantity is for 1 person.
Ambience:it’s a huge place and it’s got a casual ambience
Service: is fast within 25 you get your food.
Staff:very polite and courteous
Absolutely love phobidden. Been coming here for a long time now. Consistently good and tasty food. Highly recommend the eggplant salad and the pho. Delicate flavours and super good pricing with great quality food and taste .

A good place to dine

Loved the Chicken Momos so much, gulped them before I could click a pic. Unlike most South East Asian digs, this one served 8 momos on a platter. The quantities are huge and the squids, pho and summer sushi roll are excellent.

This place is highly recommended if you like Vietnamese/Thai food... Visited this place twice in a week from office and with family friends. Every dish came out so delicious .. just pick whatever from the menu and you won't be disappointed :)... The price is also reasonable. Would've been really good if they've been part of Zomato Gold network

We went there on a Friday night. My friends ordered Viet spare ribs which are the pork ribs and I went for the Ben thanh chicken. Loved both the dishes.
The ambience is pretty and classy.
Good to chill with friends and the staffs are courteous.
Must try for Asian cuisine.
Marcus Fernandes
The ambience is pretty nice and cosy. The food especially the raw papaya salads was very crisp, fresh and had a beautiful balance of flavours. The crab dish was OK although the meat lacked a little flavour. Overall nice place and would definitely visit again.

Best place till date with regards to food and nice ambience... good ambitious menu satisfying the pallet... taste, presentation and aroma fills up the place... a must visit place before the chef changes 😜Cheers..,

Food - everything here is worth a try. Chilli beef, banh cuon, beef pho & bun bao is what we ordered after a small group discussion. Frankly nothing was disappointing. Cuisine is definitely worth a try.

Ambience- not very bright interiors, we visited when it was cloudy outside. But not dull as well. Closed & bit small with tables occupying most of the available area. Overall decent ambience.

Service - pretty quick, table booking recommended. Staff is courteous & kind enough to give their suggestions if asked for. If you are visiting for the first time, I highly recommend to check with the staff before ordering the dish.

Price- a little bit on the higher side I would say. But for the food quality & quantity it's kind of acceptable.

Why 4 stars?
Though all the dishes were great, there was nothing that really stood out to pull me back to this place. Chilli beef was the most recommended dish, but it was eh-eh for us. May be next time will try some other dishes.

Been here many times and like their idea of not being on every Food apps, being quaint and singular.. They preserve their aesthetics. The problem here is that everytime I order through an another delivery app. They seem to blatantly add service charge. I did bring this to their notice
But the last two times its happened again. It's very crass to sneak In a service charge for a take out order. You're not serving me to charge that and it's not even recognized.. By law you can refuse a service charge.. If I were at the restaurant I wouldn't reduce the service charge BUT YOU CANNOT ADD IT ON ORDER THAT'S FOR DELIVERY.
ThatChori
Amazing food and service. Though the service did get delayed but it's manageable when you are visiting with a group.

Tried the Vietnamese coffee (kickass)

Bahn Mi, crisp, uber light, crusty, fresh and mild flavors.

Bahn Xeio was good too

Crispy veg spring roll was nice.

A must visit place.

Went for a casual dinner. Had heard a lot about the place so had high expectations. Tried the Summer roll and the Pho - both of which were good but not spectacular. Also tried the Vietnamese cold coffee which was ok. The decor is nice. Not sure if I'd visit again though.

This one's for you @fizafaizkhan ❤️
Phobidden Fruit is my sister's go to restaurant!
Whenever I tell her "Let's go out for dinner" she looks at me with this puppy eyes and says - " Let's go to phobidden Fruit please" 😂
Excellent Vietnamese food. We order Chicken Pho and Vietnamese summer rolls every time we go there, and apart from that the chilly beef, a chicken salad and the tamarind Crab is to die for! The Pho and chilly beef are excellent and I would highly recommend both. The ambience is amazing. Lots of foliage and mellow lighting with good music conjures the most enjoyable dining experience. The staff is extremely friendly, the manager is super sweet and service is fast. I would definitely recommend this restaurant for anyone looking for some good Vietnamese food in Bangalore.
______________________________________________________

Our love for Vietnamese Cuisine has increased so much that we are planning on visiting Vietnam just for the food! 😁

FYI : They don't do take-aways and aren't available on the food ordering platforms which helps them focus on the guests at the table
Akash
A quaint restaurant that serves nice Vietnamese food. The ambience was pleasing and peaceful. We ordered pho and Thai red curry, both of which were good. The service was decent. I recommend this place.
Ankur Shrivastava
Cosy ambience and this place sits quietly in Indiranagar surrounded by musical bars and pubs.
Summer Rolls, Mekong Momos and Coolers are worth trying.
I wouldn't say it's a typical Vietnamese restaurant but they are 80% close and serves the best quality food.
Food : 4/5
Ambience : 4/5
Location : 5/5

Superb ambience and food. Has never failed to impress. Our safest bet whenever we treat friends and family.Just the right price and isn't one of those places that force your pocket empty claiming to serve authentic food. Love this place 😊

A different than the usual dining experience with your loved and dear ones. If you are looking for something unique and different, you are going to like this place - good food and ambiance - a place worth remembering.

A 5/5 rating to this place isn't an exaggeration at all, trust me! I'm totally in love with this place, the feel, the food here🤩 One of the best places in the city for Vietnamese food😋

The ambience deserves a 5☆ coz it's so welcoming and comforting 😊 Had been to this place for my birthday lunch,I'm glad I made a fantastic choice of place!

You got to bear with the slow service, but you won't mind doing it,for all the yummy food you'll have later😂

We tried their ginger lemon cooler(which had a typical lemongrass flavor 😋) and strawberry smoothie (by far the best one I've had !) ; ordered crispy spring rolls,Mekong momos (both veg) for starters, pickled fried rice for the main course. No complaints at all about the food and drinks, absolutely loved them😋
Decently priced, the food is served in such filling portions too. Couldn't try their desserts :/ We were really full by then..gonna go back to this place many times now,I know it already 🙂

You'd definitely want to try this place ,esp for a romantic date🙂
On a whole,I'd give :
A 5 star for the ambience, feel.
A 4 star for the service.
A 5 plus 5 plus 5 plus 5 star for the food😍😂

(Oh,also. They have such clean, well maintained washrooms!)
Pretty amazing food , service is slow though, but its worth the wait. Each of their dishes is tastefully done and leaves you craving for more. Must visit if you are dining in and around Indiranagar.
Nikhil Adhlakha
This place is worth it's rating. I would have given it 5 stars but little let down by service and drinks.
The hogging starts with appetizers. And man O man.. I wish I had a bigger stomach. From their sauces to plating to taste.. I could not find one single thing wrong.
A special mention to a dish whose name I forgot but involves betel leaf (refer pic) and minced beef. After the appetizers we ordered mushroom noodles and pho. The pho was simply superb with a great balance of flavours but the noodles had very less mushrooms and a tad bit oily. (Still recovering from the orgasm of betel leaf dish) - I am not complaining about the noodles. All in all.. I am absolutely going back again to complete my desire to have all their appetizers.
Also skip the drinks. The jasmine based drinks don't have great flavour. And therefore feel overpriced

Food - 5/5
Service - 3/5
Ambience - 5/5
Drinks - 2/5
Cost -4/5
Overall - 4/5

Went here on a Sunday afternoon. This place has an old-timey charm to it. Quaint little place with good food.

Ambience - 4.5
The place is tastefully done, not like those new over-the-top, garrulous restaurants which look more like an interior design shop than a warm, welcoming restaurant. Had a nice, country feel to it with its slightly Bohemian, slightly earthy decor. Even while indoors, you get an outdoorsy feel to it.

Food - 4
Lemongrass Ice Tea - Very tasty and refreshing though there was a bit too much sugar in it.

Iceberg Wraps - Delectable little pockets of flavor! Couldn't ask for more. See picture in review.

Prawn Pho - Good doesn't even start to describe it but alas, the first prawn I took out had a poop line in it. We sent the bowl back and asked to have it replaced with chicken pho, which was done promptly.

Chicken Pho - Tasty, filling and yet quite light. The broth tasted great, the accompaniments only enhanced flavors.

Service - 3.0
We were attended to almost immediately after we sat down. Our drinks were brought in, in no time, so was the starter. But then, it seemed like the whole restaurant was hit with a sudden lull. Our main course didn't come in until 20 mins later, and this was after we sent two reminders. While having main course, we were asked to give our final orders. We promptly ordered dessert which was never brought on but we were charged for it in the bill. We were also charged for prawn Pho, which was replaced. When we informed of the mix-up, we got a revised bill where they removed Prawn Pho but still retained dessert in the bill - which was brought along with the bill! We sent the dessert back then and asked for another revised bill, with no dessert. The waiter obliged.

Liked the restaurant though they must be careful about quality of food and goof-ups with serving.

This is one of the best places for an authentic Vietnamese meal ! I have been here many times and was never left disappointed. The staff is very courteous and friendly and at the same time the place is well lit making up for a great ambience. The drinks aren't that great but their pho, crabs and smoky noodles are some dishes to die for. Also, the prices are slightly on the higher side but I guess, the taste won't leave you regretting. All in all, this is a great hang out place with your friends and family.
Simrinwahal
Tucked in the busy 12th Main of Indiranagar this gem brings to you close to authentic Saigon cuisine. If you're okay to challenge your taste buds a little, then give this place a try. With an interesting mix of curries, soups, baos - there is something for everyone .

Must try :
1) Red River Riot Starter with Squid
2) Lemongrass Ice Tea ( If you fancy something interesting)
3) Beef pho ( pronounced "fuh")

PS. If you're a cat lover then you're in for a nice surprise

This was my first time with Vietnamese cuisine and I am happy i chosed this place.
Ambience: Dim lights (good for clicks), decent crowd, fancy and comfortable dining arrangements.
Service: Is great and very patient staffs.
Food: If you love Asian cuisine then you will surely love the food here. If not then better just try for an experience. I thoroughly loved every bit of the food served on our table. The taste was just amazing 😍.
The food that i had and must try are:
1) Summer Roll - Veg (Non-veg is available too)
2) Iceberg Wrap
3) Pho - Chicken
4) Rice Noodles with Prawns and Coconut Milk (This was heavenly)
5) Viet Red Curry - Veg (Non-Veg is available too)
6) Ginger Lemon Cooler (Tastes like cold Nestea or Lipton Icetea)
7) Tropical Fizz (I didn't like this at all)

Overall i really had a great experience. Will surely visit again 😁.

Amidst a galore of pan asian food places, Phobidden fruit pins down one cuisine - Vietnamese - and aces it. The place has lovely interiors too.

We ordered the following:
Iced Vietnamese coffee - A delight for those who enjoy strong flavoured coffee.
Banh Xeo - Tasted well. The dip served with it was quite different and flavourful.
Pho (Veg) - A delicious bowl of soup with noodles and vegetables. Adding the dips served along with it makes it more enjoyable.

The portion sizes is quite a lot so please order conservatively to avoid wasting food.

P.S. the complimentary pickled carrot and raddish served is quite delicious and addictive. One could make a meal out of it.

A soothing, romantic place to have Vietnamese food. Excellent service, food and ambience. We ordered barbed wire soup, green papaya salad, pickled rice and a coconut based pudding. The pickled rice wasn't that great. Everything else was fabulous.

Phobidden fruit is one of the few restaurants offering Vietnamese cuisine. We went for dinner and enjoyed our meal. The place has simple decor and dim lighting which is perfect for couples.
Tried the chicken summer rolls and chicken pho, both were yum. Service was good too. It's a nice place to enjoy good Vietnamese food. Will surely try other dishes too!!

Been there few weeks ago, their service is the worst, this place is infested with mosquitoes and reeks of Mosquito coil. The starters were not cooked at all, the pho was flavourless - 90% of starters and the pho was untouched by us and yet the service staff and their manager never bothered to find out why. They just came cleared the stuff and went about adding 10% SC to the bill. I am amazed by their disdain for customers and the complete lack of hospitality from their staff. This is truly a "Forbidden Restaurant" !!! Never visiting this again.

A friend recommended this place and man, was she right about it!! Pleasant ambience, nice and quiet, the whole Oriental setup. They give you a little jar of cold salad at your table that has carrots and raddish in vinegar and another condiment I couldn't quite put a name to. It was WONDERFUL. I personally had two jars, one could make a meal of it.

We ordered two items. Can't quite remember the names. I have photos, though! 😝
You WILL return to this place 👄

I have crossed this place so many times, and never actually planned a visit..As from outside it might not look that much appealing but once you decided to go inside you would be liking the calm vibes of this place.. Small dim candle lights onto couples table and proper lights onto long tables..Overall I liked the decor..The only thing that bothers is mosquitoes besides the couple seats, probably because of many indoor trees.
Now talking about food,
Salt and pepper chicken taste is average so 3/5
Saigon Noodles , kinda very good 4/5
I love lemongrass flavour , so I loved lemongrass pudding 4/5
Overall service 4/5
For 2 people it costs 1121 (including kingfisher draught 30 ml)

They can make you fall in love with vietnamese cuisine.
This dimly lit restaurant has some good food and great service to back it up. Banh cuon (rice batter filled with , among other things, prawns and pork) was made to perfection with crispy and well done fillings held together by a thin sheet of rice. The peanut sate curry was very balanced, and went well with steamed rice. However their dumplings were sticky, with a slightly bland filling .
Overall a good experience thanks in part to the staff, who were prompt, friendly and made some great recommendations
Best place for Vietnamese cuisine in 12th Main Indiranagar.
All the dishes were very authentic taste with lots of coconut milk, peanuts and lime....
the service was bad. The lighting is too low. U can’t see anything. The food was overdone. Too salty and all the flavours were too strong. It’s nothing like actual Vietnamese food. It’s not even a very good imitation of it. The summer rolls were good and was the sauce. Everything else was too salty or had a bitter aftertaste or overcooked.
Maybe for non veg it’s good. But our friends had chicken wings and they said they were not good.

I went there to have Pho - a Vietnamese noodle soup. It was awesome. Exactly like I expected, or I can say it was even better. Quantity was huge, 2 people can have it. I will definitely visit again, and again, and again.

A decent ambiance with simple interiors welcomes you when you stepped in. We were here after a long skipping and we have to accept that this place offered decent food and beverage options. We ordered a tamarind pineapple fried rice for mains and peanut island for desserts. Though it was an experiment it turned out to be pretty decent. You can definitely visit this place for sure.

One of our fav places, coming here after months... disappointed to see portion sizes have reduced. The Saigon noodles portion size is about 60% of what it used to be. Seems like this has been common feedback as we were informed, but corrective action is yet to be taken

Absolutely loved it. The service was good, the food was great. A tad bit expensive, but we loved the experience. They have a decent amount of vegetarian options, which you may not actually find in many Vietnamese restaurants. We tried the potato fritters, the banh xeo, vegetarian pho, vegetarian banh mi, green papaya salad, saigon noodles and the mung bean pudding. The pudding and the banh mi were the highlight of the meal for us and the banh xeo was the only thing we didn't really like as much. Everything else was very good, the pho was delicate, the salad was flavorful and the noodles were smoky. As others have mentioned, the portion sizes are good, and the meal left us feeling really full. Definitely recommending it.

I had been waiting to visit this place for some time and finally did get an opportunity to do so. The ambience and decor is nice. It gets pretty crowded over the weekends however it's on a first come first serve concept as they don't take reservations. We were seated soon enough. We however had to wait for quite sometime to get someone's attention to take our order and ofcourse had to ask several times for drinking water to be served. I was not at all impressed with the service for a place that falls under a fine dining category. Anyway having said that, the food was on point. We ordered the shrimp summer rolls, beef Pho, some noodles and shrimp and a strawberry smoothie for my daughter. The summer rolls were fresh, very clean flavours and the dipping sauce is just awesome with pieces of dried shrimp in it! I just loved it!. The pho is probably the best you will get in Bangalore. I have had pho where the beef melts in your mouth although this was not exactly like that however it was close enough and I enjoyed every morsel of it! If you are looking for great pho then Phobidden fruit is definitely the place u need to be. Highly recommend this place for some great food. Did not take pics as we were too hungry by the time the food got to our table. I would have given a 5 star rating save for the tardy and inattentive service we received. The food more than makes up for the morbid service though 😊

A nice little place located in Indiranagar, we were greeted by a very cute and welcoming ginger cat. It was the first time that we were trying Vietnamese cuisine and we chose the right place.
The service is very good as they politely agreed to give us a different table as our original one had lots of mosquitos hovering around. Now, coming to the food. We weren't in the mood to experiment to we decided to have the best thing on their menu - Pho. We ordered the veg, chicken and prawn pho. It came with 2 dips, a lime wedge, Bean sprouts and a bird's eye chilli. The broth was delicious on its own but with the dips mixed in, it became all the more divine. Portions are really good too. The only thing that I would complain is that the price is in the higher side, atleast for the items we had. Overall, I would definitely recommend this place to one who's willing to try a healthy and unique cuisine.

For the best pho in town, please visit this place. Absolutely love all of their starters, this is the most calming ambience i have ever been to mostly probably and the flavours are out of the world

They are charging exorbitant rate for water bottle, for a bottle of 20 bucks they charged 75! Food quality has also degraded. Never going to visit again, highly disappointed

I've been craving for Pho for couple of weeks and a suggestion from a friend, made it to this place for lunch. on the first looks the spaciously arranged tables with few tables lit by sunlight and the shrubs to the side feels good. since my mind was set on Pho i didn't look for other items on the menu. on a quick glance they have extensive Vietnamese menu. For appetizer we had summer rolls [prawns] and for main course of course Pho, I had Beef and my friend had Chicken. The Summer rolls were excellent choice with very good peanut sauce. The Pho broth had very good flavors but lacking a punch however with added sriracha sauce got the punch :) . Unlike other places the meat to noodle ration was perfect and cooked to my liking. had a piece of meat till the last of the noodles. I would recommend this place and would be coming back again for the Pho. My Verdict Food: 4, Ambiance: 4 Overall: 4

On a five day trip to Bangalore, I ate the beef pho for lunch on two of five days. Would highly recommend this place to people who love soups/thukpa. The pho is incredibly flavourful and filling. The momos were decent and the portions are generous. The place is dimly lit which makes for a perfect ambience.

Great place for Vietnamese food. While there is an Indian twist to the dishes (considering the spice level), the menu is quite elaborate and offers a true Vietnamese experience. I was personally surprised to see Banh Xeo on the menu. We had the Seafood Pho, Mekong Momos, Red River Riot, Vietnamese Chicken Curry, Smoky Noodles and Spicy Prawn Fried Rice (I know! We have quite the appetite). We ended with a wobbly Lemongrass Pudding, which was my least favourite dish that day. But overall lovely food and lovely seating area :) Would totally recommend this place.

When in Bangalore, eat the Phobidden Fruit, absolute favourite place and a must try place, with understated ambiance and the lip smacking Vietnamese food. Try the Vietnamese cold coffee, also the noodle bowls are my top recommendations.

The most authentic Vietnamese cuisine i have tried till date
I have been to many restaurants serving Vietnamese cuisine but none came close to this place for a mile.
I ordered :
A) Beef Pho: Mild broth with lemongrass and a side of sprouts and tulsi leaves with lemon, onions and tamarind and tomato chilli sauce.. The beef pieces were a bit chewy and tasted almost like chicken. The noodles were flat styled noodles.. I really loved that broth. A word of advice, if you like your broth to be spicy dont add too much chillies in the start.. Add a little bit at first and let it rest in the broth. Will help in developing the taste more
B) Banh mi: The best thing about this for me was the juicy pork. The juices were running down the moment you took a bite out of it.. The bagette was nicely toasted on the outside and was soft on the inside..
C) Monk Bean pudding: Best way to end a meal. The dessert was nicely balanced with the bit of sourness from the green apples and little bit of sweet from the litches..
Overall was a really good experience
Two things that i would like to call out
One, the board with the name of the restaurant is. Bit small and can be easily missed so be careful to lookout for it while driving
Second the restaurant was very dark for me.. They wanted to make a cozy ambience but that only resulted it being dark
