Review Burma Burma Restaurant & Tea Room - Bengaluru

Jeeshan George
A really unique experience in terms of cuisine. Burmese food was never on my mind and this experience today has really elevated this cuisine in my mind. Wonderful food, unique and very well presented. The samosa soup is a must try, never had anything like it. Deserts are a must try, especially the avacdo ice cream. The ambience is nice, and so is the service - quick and well presented. The space is small, which is why there is always a long wait to get in. The only reason I've reduced a star is the lack of table reservation. The only way to eat here is to go there and wait. For us the wait was an hour, which is so avoidable if they started taking reservations.

The best Burmese food experience I have had. Loads of amazing vegetarian options and the staff were very friendly. Loved the ambience as soon as we entered the restaurant. There is valet parking too. We had lotus stem crisps for starters and absolutely recommend that! For entree we had signature Burmese noodle soup and Burmese stir fry that was both amazing! For dessert had the rose milk dessert that was good as well! Overall an amazing experience visiting this restaurant. Highly recommend this place!

Lovely ambience and atmosphere. Try reaching early on the weekends and grab the outside seating. It gets crowded on the inside. The samosa soup is a must try and their gooey malt cake is yum. Also try these lotus stem chips. Lovely platting and service. You can feel the Burmese flavours hitting.

Loved the ambience. Since we went in quite early, there was no wait time and then the taste of food matched hype. We tried their Brown Onion and Roasted Chiili Bao, Curried Mushroom Bao, Chillli Tangy Chikpea Tohu and Trumpet Mushroom Stake. For the main course, we tried their Mustard Edamame Rice along with Mekong Curry. (Interesting taste - would recommend this to whoever goes there) We ordered Black forest for dessert.

The food had unique taste and flavours , the way it was platted also turns on your taste buds . The chilly sauce was ultimate you think it is sweet but slowly turns into a spicy bomb The pan fried dumplings and strawberry desert are a must try the Burmese fried rice is also good overall a great experience Minus is the wait time on weekends as there is no reservation took us almost an hour of standing / sitting to get in

Loved the dining experience here. We ordered only small plates and coolers, but they were all really good. We filled up on yummy Banana Flower Croquettes, outta-this-world Taro Tacos with Spiced Black Bean, and delicious Grill That Bao. Washed these down with an absolutely refreshing Zero Proof G & T and a smooth Paloma. The only thing that I personally didn't enjoy is the aftertaste of copra (dry coconut) in the Kokum creme. The dips they have on each table are yummy too.

Fabulous restaurant to be at. Taste was good enough, most of we tried was made up with coconut milk but yeah it was tasty, tea taste was nothing much great n not worth for price rest cuisine was good. Good for one who likes to relish new cuisine . Costly though but worth for ambience.

If you want to experience a new unique style of food means this is the place. Price is high. Before ordering once check with them, how the food is made and how it looks. Avocado ice cream and samosa soul are the only things I liked here.

Exquisite Cuisine, Elegant Atmosphere, and Excellent Service I recently had the pleasure of dining at a restaurant that excelled in every aspect: from its delectable food to its classy ambiance and impeccable service. From the moment I stepped inside, I was greeted with an ambiance that exuded elegance and sophistication. Every detail was carefully thought out, and the presentation of each dish was truly impressive. What set this restaurant apart was the exceptional service I received. Despite ordering multiple dishes at once, the staff ensured that each course was served in the perfect order, allowing for enjoyable pauses between courses. The waiters were friendly, accommodating, and hospitable, although there were moments when I felt they could have been more attentive. It's worth noting that this restaurant does not accept table bookings, so it's advisable to arrive early, especially during peak dinner hours. If you happen to arrive later, there may be a waiting period, and unfortunately, the restaurant lacks a dedicated waiting area, forcing guests to stand outside on the roadside. Despite this minor inconvenience, the overall dining experience was superb. The flavors of the dishes were tantalizing, and the attention to detail in their presentation added an extra touch of delight. The menu offered a diverse range of options, catering to various palates and dietary preferences. Additionally, the restaurant's ambiance played a significant role in enhancing the dining experience. The elegant decor, soothing lighting, and tasteful music created an inviting and comfortable atmosphere. It was truly a feast for the senses. In conclusion, if you're seeking a dining experience that combines delicious food, a classy ambiance, and excellent service, this restaurant should be at the top of your list. Just remember to plan your visit accordingly, as the lack of table bookings and potential waiting time might require some patience. However, once you enter and savor the delightful dishes served with finesse, any wait will be well worth it.

Place is calm and quiet. We ordered Burmese falafel, Burma Burma special hakka Noodles , Tea leaf salad, Lemon splash coolers and dessert. All were very tasty and totally unique.

Name might fool you but yes this is a PURE VEG restaurant. Items in menu can be very confusing but the presentation is AMAZING!!! May it be the Samosa Soup or Smoked Guava Drink or Avocado Honey Glazed Ice cream… There are too many such varieties and some you might like and some might not be liked but definitely it is an experience. Was there over a weekday so it was not over crowd like some other places in this road. Service is good but slightly on the expensive side considering this is a pure veg no drinks place….

A really good place to explore vegetarian food in this cuisine which is specially meat oriented mostly. Everything was amazing specially the mushroom bao buns. The boba tea was good as well. A different experience altogether. The desserts are something to die for with it’s perfect sweetness and the quantity served. A much needed place specially in the vegetarian sector.

We had been on Sunday night, don’t ask about the waiting! The timing is from 12pm to 3:30 pm and then 6:30pm to 10:30 pm. We tried reaching early and we have tried last time but we couldn’t get seat. The waiting hours was too much. So we had reached early yet waiting hours was there. There is no reservations allowed during weekends. It works on first come first serve. Leaving all the negative apart… Coming to the restaurant.. amazing ambience and cozy seatings, different cuisine options.. Firstly we wanted to try hot soup.. So we ordered Chickpea Soup which was so amazing. All the flavours and ingredients were so good. Enjoyed having in this monsoon. Then we ordered falafel which was marinated in some amazing sauce. Bread with hummus was also delicious but not my type. For mains we tried stir fried veggies with rice. This was bit gravy type, it looked bland but taste was so amazing never tried such amazing food. Lastly we completed our dinner with amazing cheese cake. Mouth watering taste! Overall the experience was good, friendly staffs. One of the best restaurants we tried in Indranagar! Avoid weekends and peak hours! I would recommend this restaurant.

Great experience dining at Burma Burma. The food tastes awesome. Tried their burnt hibiscus guava cooler and Khao suey. Won't disappoint. Special mention to the really great service and staff.

Nice vegetarian restaurant. Good service too. They have ample valet parking. Make sure you book reservation before visiting this place as waiting could be for more than an hour. Must try Bubble tea and fried dumplings.

Very authentic dishes served here. Best in taste and quality. Their service is also good and fast. The dishes here are a little expensive, but taste is top class. Yet to try thier famous khow-suey. We had taken samosa soup, lotus stem crisps, china town noodles and bbq jackfruit.

If you are a vegetarian/vegan/someone who likes to experiment with their palate, then this is the place for you. Some of the flavours were incredibly light but unique and intense, an explosion in your mouth. This is the first time I've been here so I only got to sample a few items. We had the crispy tofu pao/bao buns and they were amazing. For mains, we got the Malar noodles and it was delicious as well. We also had the chamomile tea. Servers were very courteous. Portions were adequate for two. I'd definitely come back as they had a very eclectic menu and sooo many options. Oh fyi, this goes without saying but all necessary precautions were being followed.
Cheers guys.

Great place for Saturday afternoon lunch. Loved there bubble tea, mock meat & samosa soup.

Stick rice was an absolute delight for us. Being a vegetarian, a different taste palate took us by surprise and we enjoyed lunch.

Car parking is something that can be improved, but other wise management, chef and menu is excellent.

For the first time ever I am writing a live review! Its coming from a person who thinks Veg food does not exist, sitting in a veg restaurant! Oh lord! Its so yum and delicious. Let me the items we had!
1. Mock duck skewers : Made of tofu! It was so delicious and juicy, unbelievable! That sweet chilli sauce was absolutely spot on!
2. Burma falafel: Made of lentil, so yum yum!
3. Tea leaf salad: Absolutely delicious! A salad without non veg item, but it creates a rainbow on your pallet.
4. Burmese khow suey: Speechless, best ever!
P.S: This Burmese khow suey and lobster would been a woah!
Must visit if you are in Bengaluru! Cheers!
Ambience 🛋🖼
The artistic outdoors is just the tip of the iceberg. There are so many different elements to adore when you enter the restaurant, on the left you see an open Tea-Bar. On your left is a beautiful seating arrangement under the colourful dome lights.

What’s up for grabs 🍽🥢
- Yuzu bubble tea, this is a cold tea with boba made from tapioca with a citrus yuzu flavour.
- Grill That ‘Bao’, portion of 4 steamed baos with seared mock meat. For a person who has been eating non-veg for years together, this mock meat was very convincing.
- Panthay Khowsuey, a regional China town noodles mixed with tamarind, ground spices and vegetables.
- Avacado ice cream, a huge fan of this dessert. It was phenomenal. Please do give it a try if you visit.

Service 🤵🏻🍾
We had almost arrived at the edge of the closing hour, but they were kind enough to arrange a table once it was available. The service was impeccable even during their rush hour.

Cost
💰💰💰💰

Extremely disappointed with the way they handled the payment. They refused to accept zomato pro payment..stating unless I scanned and ordered they wouldn't accept..which is not fair since I always have an option to settle the bill thru zomato

I don't think so that there is any other restaurant which serves vegetarian food tastier than this one! Food and mocktails were really amazing. Staffs were highly courteous. Ambience was nice. Totally worth the wait to get inside😉😁. Must visit!!

What a food and ambience. One of the finest veg restaurants. Their soups, starters, steamed buns, dumplings, noodles, bubble tea, desserts, everything is amazing. The side dishes are real taste boosters. Samosa soup, tohu mash with paratha and bubble tea is must try. Noodles is sufficient for two moderate serving. You can split the soup in 1/2. This will help u in saving some bucks. Bit pricey as per the portion size. They are following all the protocols for social distancing and hygiene. Hence it's safe to visit. Average cost for two is 1400-1700. Suggestion to management- Please keep a surface disinfectant spray in the washroom, which customers can spray on the toilet seat, prior to using it.

Crunchy tofu buns were amazing . The Burmanese naan was so soft n gravy was so yum but it should be there in main course
Neharika Jindal
We had the potato wok, lotus stem crisps (in love with them) and the rice dumplings. Every dish in this place is to die for - it never disappoints! Must visit for some great ambience, plating and quality food. Must try the avocado ice cream and Nutella bubble tea. Some of the dishes are over priced but for me it was worth it!

Lovely ambience
There's a lot of rush on weekwnds.. I had to wait for almost an hour before getting in

Must try:
1. Samosa soup
2. Khao suey
3. Avocado ice cream
4. Nutella bubble tea
5. Yuzj bubble tea

Located near Indiranagar, this place servers delicious food with a wide variety of vegan options.
If you wanna try Asian food with vegan options , this is your Go-to place.
Some items on the menu may feel slightly over priced, but the taste of the food, keeps ur taste buds wanting more.
The deserts here could be improved.
Crunchy Tofu is a must try.

This is a pure vegetarian Burmese restaurant, which offer Jain variations as well! The ambience and the food was awesome. The staff are also courteous. This was my first Burmese cuisine ever and it blew my mind. The taste of the food was balanced in every way. A must visit place..

Burma Burma is one of my fav. Places when I am craving for semi Indian and spicy food. They serve Burmese food with a pinch of Indian twist.
If you happen to visit this place, you should definitely try their samosa soup and lotus stem chips.
I usually end up trying different things from their menu and I have never been disappointed.
Food is delicious, staff is very courteous.
If you are a tea lover, they have good variety of teas as well.
5/5 for delicious food and pretty ambience
Avanthika Chaithanya
Ordered in yesterday with a khao Suey craving, and have to say, the order was packed beautifully and food was hot despite the long distance delivery! Their website offers long distance delivery for a fee and it was worth it! Khao suey was great as usual and so was the Chinatown noodles. The Burmese fried rice was a lil bland for my taste. However all in all, can't wait to order again!

Amazing place, amazing food. U must visit this place, it's different from other restaurants and the experience is next level.. I went with my friends and tried alot of stuff and everything was amazing.

Service was poor. Impersonal.
Food showed a remarkable decline in quality. The wow feeling the first time was distinctly absent.
Unlikely to go back for a long time.

My favourite vegan restaurant. I have been going back to try out each and every item on their menu. The tea leaf rice is one of my favourite rice dishes from here. The samosa soap is also a unique soup. The dishes are really good. The ambience is very cosy. Limited seating and no reservation ahead of time. Their always packed and serve only veg/vegan food.
Prakash Narayan
Absolutely brilliant packaging! Quick delivery. They went to the greatest details! The chef's temperature, the rider's temperature, were all put up on the box. They also gave the four types of chutney in tiny boxes, sanitizer, tissues, spoons, chopsticks and even the tiny tamarind toffees!
The one thing that impressed me the most was, the cold ice bag packed below the salad box!!

I was thoroughly impressed with their dining experience, but the delivery has given me exceptional expectations from this restaurant

Burma burma is one of the finest place for Burmese food. We ordered lotus stem for starters which was super tasty and spicy. Also ordered Crunchy Tofu steamed buns which I must say was delicious. For the main course we we ordered Khausey. It was soupy kinda noodles. I loved the steamed buns and lotus stem. It’s a must try ;) Lastly the bubble tea was soothing 🖤
Punya P Shetty
This place is really good if you are looking for Burmese food. We started off with the Burmese Pepper Soup. It was a clear soup. For starters, we ordered the Crunchy Tofu steamed buns which was good too. For main course, we went on to mandalay meeshay which is soupy noodles. They have a variety of sides which makes it taste even better.

This place also has an entire menu for desserts. We ordered the Burma bombe dessert. This was very good. Definitely recommend it.

For drinks, I totally recommend the matcha bubble tea.

If your looking for delicious Asian food, then this is the place. Located in Indiranagar, this place serves amazing vegetarian Asian food, one of the few that serves both. Their samosa soup and peanut salad were refreshing. Also, they recommended Khao suey and bubble tea, and we were not disappointed. Also. They server huge variety of water based teas. Tried a few and they were different. The prices are on the higher side, but their courteous staff makes up that. A must visit when aroung Indiranagar.
Harit Sharma
Luring their guests to travel from 20kms away by giving them false hope of getting a reservation in time and then outright denying that you committed such a conversation. The staff answering calls mentioned the place wouldn't have a waiting for more than 10mins and now warning us that a table would take a minimum of 45mins ! Please start RESERVATIONS !! Its a brilliant concept followed in western countries for busy restaurants lioe you! TRANSPARENCY IS KEY TO CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE!

Inspite of the curiosity around Burmese cuisine , It took me a few months and push from my daughter to consider a “Vegetarian” Lunch here . Stand vindicated -It was a rewarding experience. the Decor , Ambience , Knowledgeable Servers just add to the experience of great food.
Definitely coming back!!

Review on Burma Burma

Ambiance: It is a really nice place to have your lunch. Interior is exclusively neat and lovely.

Most importantly they have tried to bring a cultural value through a restaurant. Burma is near to India but most of us has no idea about the counties culture and food.

Thanx to the owner for this concept.

Food: In terms of food there are really unique variety of food and specially beverages in the tea-bar.

The most famous is avocado ice cream also presented beautifully with a cup of scented smoke.

Also we have ordered some noodles, which is not very tasty as compare to other dishes.

Price: Price is in little higher side, but surly can be visited to have new and cultural experience.

Amazing staff. Followed the recommendation to have samosa soup and Wa potato and both were amazing. Wa potato invoked a childhood memory of eating chilli potato for the first time. Would be visiting again to try other dishes. SHUBHAM MISHRA

Really sweet staff! I ordered a original bubble tea, I didn't realize it would have a strong tea flavor that didn't like, and I didn't have it. They were really sweet to not charge me for it.
Love the dessert, lotus stem crisps and the burma Burma special!

Raw Mango salad is the best thing to try out here 💯
Pragya Bhansali
Tea at its bliss, love every bit of this place from food to tea or tea to 🧁 dessert. Another level of dining experience

I am a hard core non vegetarian. It took me 5-6 months of mentally preparing myself for veg food and a lot of push and recommendations from many friends to get here. And trust me it’s all worth it. I can go on about what I loved in this place - which is everything I ordered. But honestly just get here and experience it yourself. The staff knows the menu very well and we can totally go by their recommendation on the dishes.
Swati Kaikini Bakshi
Was a huge disappointment . Highly overated . I didn't think the flavours were bang on . Didn't have the Oomph factor.
SHWETHA IJS
Loved the ambience, the staff and bubble tea and the raw mango salad.. such an awesome experience it was. Durian ice cream was one unique thing I was eager to try, if you dont like the after taste ( which is more like jackfruit, no offense stronger than that). I liked it though. Courteous staff, since the extra naan which comes with the peas curry( coconut milk added and has strong coconutty taste) we ordered was late they compensated it with an extra pot of curry. Brownie bombs were good. Dish were presented well. This is a vegetarian Burmese cuisine restaurant but who thought it could have varieties to die for. We tried bubble tea original and matcha, great taste. Liked the original, has this hint of chocolate and the after taste of tea, well balanced! Soya tikka was good too.. ( names of the dishes are different, read description on the menu) over all... you wont be disheartened! Oh yeah choose the cozy seat table🤪 and look around the walls for some Burmese art!

Portion size: naan you get two small naans and a pot of curry. Naan serves one curry serves two. Salad serves two if you have a good appetite if not three. Dont fill on salad as they have great food on the menu. Bubble teas for one.. you can share obviously you dont want to fill yourself 😬. When there is no table available, ask for a bar side, you can atleast have some starters and move once table is free. Desserts are good enough for three, durian ( 3 scoops) brownie bombs one serving, again can be two depending on your love for chocolate. It is to the bitter side, but one scoop of icecream would accompany.

When I am in bangalore, I visit burma burma religiously!

What's good?
Food was tasty.

Not good?
Had to wait for an hour to get the table and the order had to be placed all at the same time as it was closing time (3:30 PM). Not worth the money you are spending. Chocolate Bubble tea was same like Lassi Shop's Chocolate Coffee where the quantity in Lassi shop will be quite more.

Overall 3 stars.

I was waiting to visit this place for so long. I had been hearing good things and recommend by many people. I finally visited the place and was soo overwhelmed by the place.
The starters , main course and especially the desserts were incredible.
The lotus stem chips were soo soo good . The red fried rice suggested by the staff with tofu curry was equally brilliant.
The desserts are amazing. The avocado ice cream is to die for.
A must visit place.

A must go place in Indiranagar, on Sundays they have first come first serve service so be there on time if you don’t want to wait in the queue. The staff is helpful. They have amazing ambiance and food. Most of the items in menu is veg. For desserts they have separate menu.

Always been a fan of Burma Burma in Gurgaon and tried it here in Bangalore. This place is a heaven for all vegetarians. Pomegranate spritzers, samosa soup and the platter (appetizers) are classic favourites.

Absolutely delightful! Loved the ambience and the soft lighting...perfect for a lunch date!

Fantastic food no doubt. Let me add a few things here. We came in a bit early because we didn’t want to wait. So if you have a large family with children etc, don’t leave a bad review for waiting, just come in early simple. Once seated the waiter explained in quite a detailed manner the sauces on the table. We ordered samosa soup ( spicy and the samosa uniquely adds to the flavour of the soup), Wo Potato salad ( crunchy spicy salad) and then red chilly fried rice for me and khao suey for my wife. I ordered an additional drink called ginger spice. I am not sure if I got all the names correctly , but you should be able to see close resemblance to everything I have written above.

For both of us, we felt we could have gone straight from the soup to the main course, the starter really filled our stomach. So that’s one advise for everyone. Wherever there is split written and you and the company are ok to taste those, make sure you take it. Sadly we had to leave some food uneaten.

Overall the staff was quick, courteous and attentive. All the things we could have possible expected in a nice restaurant. Definitely a visit again.
Vanshika Prakash
Not worth the hype! Had heard so much about the place.
After waiting 45 mins for the table, another 15 mins for the food , what was served was not at all worth the wait.
The samosa soup- very average ( its like eating a watery curry with a small samosa in it ), wok tossed potato ( not sure of the name ) - was like honey chilly potato with lemon grass - was better than all what we ate, dry khou suey - ordered this one after reading zomato reviews but this was equally disappointing.
this experience was extremely average

Burma Burma is a ideal place to try different cuisine why not Burmese food. This is vegetarian restaurant offering Burmese cuisine.I went for lunch with my friends it was such a good place to choose.Ambience was good service was fast. I ordered avocado salad to start it was delicious. I tried rice dumping it was different than normal dumplings but was delicious. I also ordered bao it was tasty. We ordered boba tea and enjoyed. Khau Suey was delicious noodles in coconut milk came with side of sauce fried onion chilli and spring onion. Noodles were very flavorful and tasty. The dessert I ordered was yegotho served in coconut it was so good. I will visit this place again.
Sequeira.giselle
Everything we ordered was really good, especially the salad, samosa soup and dessert. However, i would have liked it if the bubble tea’s quantity were a little more. It was over before I knew it.
Surabhi Pathania
This place has hands down the best Asian food I've had in Bangalore in last 4 years. The dry khow suey was out of this world and so were the rice steamed buns. The portions were large and the service wasn't slow as well. Luckily, I didn't have to wait for a table, though this queues up pretty quickly on weekends.
The only thing I would ask is to be a Zomato gold partner 😄. Would definitely return for more.
Parvathyjvjj
The experience was very nice. But be prepared and reach as early as possible as it is always crowded. All the items we're good and delicious. The ambience is also awesome

The food never disappoints ! Been here multiple times . The salad platter and khao suwey is my favourite . The staff is polite and well informed about the food . Service is super fast once u get the table . Though Being a vegetarian, the menu is extensive .
Only part i dislike is the waiting time to get a table is always over an hour and they don’t take reservations over the phone . Standing outside is not the experience we want when we come with guests !
Kavita Choudhary Jhunjhunwala
Food has become terrible. The salad were overdressed, and the noodles came swimming in soya sauce which was tasteless. they served us a terrible ice-cream complimentary which also we didn't want to have as it was very weird. The quality has really gone bad. Never again and definitely not recommended at all. We were a group of 5 women and none of us liked the food.

I’ve been here twice and the food never disappoints! Great tasting food with an amazing ambience to complement it. One of the must try restaurants, for sure!

This place had my heart from the very first dining. Let me tell you the flavours and the freshness is to die for. My husband is a hard core non vegetarian and for him to love this place and him wanting to go back for every occasion is a big hit. The whole experience is amazing from food to presentation to flavours and ingredients.
Raghav
The presentation and taste of food is really good. Though they serve only vegetarian food, non vegetarians will also like it. We ordered many dishes randomly (because we didn't understand the names) and liked all of them.
Lisa Singh
I am a fan of the veg food here. I love the ambience and the service was also good. I especially liked the avocado ice cream and the samosa soup.

A place which doesnt make you miss non veg food. The khao suey and the avocado ice cream were excellent. A bit pricey but the good service and great food makes up for it.
Shivani Bhawsar
Went there to have brunch with a friend one fine sunday. Usually the wait time over this place is 1-2hours, luckily we got it in 10 min.
The staff was very polite initially, but soon they started acting as if they want to shoo us away, so that the next customer could be served. I do realise that the queue is long and people are waiting, but we have shelled out a hefty sum for our brunch, and we went there to have a good time. Forcing your dessert menu on guests and interrupting their talks to ask for orders and making faces isnt fair. We met after a lonng time and the conversations were long, but we left the place within 40 min because the staff started cleaning our table.

Secondly the portions were very small. If you are charging 600 for a small portion of khao suey, atleast give us some time to relish it. We cant finish it in 10 mins and move on to desserts

What's Good - Food is first in the list
Ambience and service are also top notch

How's Food - Good. Very much customised to meet Indian taste.

What's not so good -
Long wait times during prime time.
Cost Vs Proportion of what you get for each dish.

Bottom Line - Good food and ambience but comes with an extra cost.

Every dish was excellent right from the lotus stem (chips) salad, to main course and of course, the dessert.Amazing place for vegetarian folks. Good choices of soups, salads and starters. I strongly recommend reservation before visiting this place. Lotus stem crisps is must try.
