Review Jalsa - Bengaluru

Azad Krishna Tripathi
Had buffet lunch here. Place ambiance is totally different and will give you a royal feel. Dim lights and nice chandeliers around. For a group of around 5-6, they provide nice sitting space which gives feel of privacy but at the same time you can enjoy the outer ambiance. Coming to the food, veg has very limited starters but non veg has lot many options to try out. Had nice desserts though I feel they were lacking to manage the quantity for both main course and desserts. Still food tasted good. I loved the Smoky flavor of cauliflower in starter, paneer wasn't too catchy, it was so average. Overall, nice ambiance, food quality with limited veg options and bit slow service. One should definitely try it out.

Great place and the food is lip smacking good. Recommended for friends and family. Ample parking space and enough space to host a small party of 20 as well... Service and the decor is awesome! The only scope of improvement would be to work on offers and price...

Super awesome. 5 stars for the brilliant ambience. Food is delicious and the place is very spacious. Definitely peaceful compared to other places who play loud music, here you would come across old Bollywood instrumental songs. The staff are very friendly. Just loved the experience.

The moment you enter this place a royal atmosphere titillates you. The food served here are mainly Indian or mughlai (veg as well as non veg) . The simplest of veg dishes (exclusive in its own way) like a karela salad , bharwan kumbh or multani paneer Tikka are very nice. The non veg dishes like hot n sour lamb chops we're spicy n nice. The chicken in the kalmi kebab or khandari chicken Tikka were very succulent. The bhojpuri dum aloo had an amazing gravy , a little coarse in texture but creamy because of the cashew nuts. The phulka with ghee can be torn with the 3 fingers - they are so soft and inviting. The desserts are a not to be missed affair - rabdi malpua , homemade kulfi (they are very nicely cut and presented so it's easy to share ) and finally the rasmalai. I am sure one will not share this. A very nice place to take onshore partners or clients to give them the royal Indian feel. If they want to pose - pagdis are available too, or family get togethers - where elders will like the atmosphere as well as the old Hindi melodies in the background. The cocktails like sharmili , As the zakham make up for a nice dinner date. For the kids they have beverages like - Funky toffee.

Though this place was super near to our house, somehow never thought of visiting this place. However I would say worth all the wait. Ambience is the best, suddenly you feel you are in a Mughal empire! Now comes to food, mocktails were very sweet, but cocktails were better. Starters were the best for me. Don’t remember the names of it however it was cooked to perfection. Main course was average. Intotal a place that can be looked forward to especially for a family event!

{Jalsa} has been on my radar for a very long time, 5 years to be precise. Meanwhile I have been recommending them to friend’s & family based on hearsay on how great their Prawns were. So finally ended up here on a unplanned dinner with family, that too when we happened to be vegetarian. Nevertheless, I enjoyed the meal as much as I would enjoy usually. Started with ordering masala papad, & some Shorba. The papad was nice & for a change deep fried, and a little too spicy to the family’s liking, but I loved it. The mushroom Shorba was more like a cream of mushroom, but was so fabulous that we ordered another portion to share. Though we were a little disappointed to know the other vegetarian Shorbas were not available that day to try. For starters, we ordered cheese balls, Dahi Kebab, Paneer Hariyali. Everything was perfect, except the Dahi Kebabs I have had elsewhere was better than this one here. For mains we ordered some Roti & Naans which were perfectly cooked & tasted yumm with the Paneer Begum Bahar we ordered, though it was not spicy (as we were warned) the flavour was good enough for me, but not for the family. The Shahi Subz Biriyani was decent with good flavours of veggies throughout the rice. Overall it was a great veg dining experience that made us come back so on after, for their weekend buffet. Again a huge family of 6 with kids, service could not be better, the food on the menu was fabulous too. The starters were served at our table and they all came quiet quickly, after another, alongside the soup. Unlike the starters, the hot & Sour Chicken soup was a bit of a let down I must say, was a little too off flavour for me. The Tandoori Murg was perfectly cooked bursting with great flavours & I absolutely loved it. The Fish & Prawns were nice & was enjoyed by the whole family. Surprisingly what we also enjoyed the most were the samples of Bhendi Dry, & Karela Salad from the vegetarian selection. The buffet was a small but good quality spread, we loved the Biriyani, Railway Mutton Curry. The desserts were good, especially the Indian ones, the mini donut was not good, & could have been avoided overall. A great VFM buffet if you are looking for good food, in a beautiful ambiance with adequate service.

If you know hindi you can surely relate to this place... Jalsa means nothing but celebration.. jalsa is located at marathalli and severs north Indian and mughlai cuisine.. Location : Located on the busy street if marathalli. (It's on the service road towards k r puram. Doddanna kundi. It's a place no one can miss. The location on Google and zomato is very accurate.. They have ample parking space for 2 wheeler and 4 wheelers. Ambience : Jalsa it's self means celebration and surely the ambience has to grand and nice. Walking though a huge door enterence gives u a feel of a royal feel, and as u enter good dim light, beautiful seating arrangements. Very good colourfull cushions tall window and (extraordinary) chandeller ... What we had : As the zakam : Never though pineapple juice and bacadi is good combination. How ever I am not a bacadi person. My friend did enjoy this . Funky toffee : This one is a mocktail made with chocolate and fresh cream. (I am guessing this)and topped with chocolate sauce.. surely a must try for any chocolate lover. Nawabi rofit : A cocktail that was whisky base..I did not try this.. Apart from these when u visit north Indian restaurant how can we Not try the chaas, lassi and Jal jeera. Karela salad : The salad was well presented. Karela (bitter melon) the only vegetable I would not think of eating, my friends tried and then insisted me to have too. It had tangy Flavour, and karela was kind of deep fried before adding them to salad. Tased entirely different and guess what we did order one more the same. This happens to be thier signature dish. Bhindi Kurkure: Kurkure means crispy and Bhindi means okra. This spicy, crispy okra is simply delicious. The okra is marinated in spices, coated with flour, and then deep fried for a satisfying crunch. It was delicious Multhani paneer tikka : Panner was soft and very fresh. Tasted good. By new we had understood that thier presentation of dishes was nice and unique. Bharwani khumb : These were stuffed mushroom and topped with some delicious cheese. A perfect bite size appitizer . Tandoori jingha : I am totallly a sea food lover and this prawns was cooked to perfection and well maritaned I love the spicy flavour, but for my friends this a little more spicy. content image Hot and Sour Lamb Chops : I dont have Mutton, but my friends really enjoyed it.. Moving on to main course we ordered for 12 pulkas along with veg and non vegetarian gravies.. Bhojpuri Dum Aloo, Kadai Vegetable, Mutton Rogan Josh and Desi Dum ka Murgh... all the gravies were excellent. rich in favours and taste. The biryani was severed in earthen vessels and had good aroma.. very mildly spiced.. I was almost full by now, but as usual had to keep some space for having the desserts.. so moving on to the desserts. We had Rabdi Malpua & Homemade Kulfi.. both the desserts were excellent.. Overall experience : Totally a delightful royal experience.. From the time we entered, till we left everything was excellent, the ambience, the service.. not to forget the wonderful present when each dish was served.. This is surely a perfect choose to catch up with friends or have a celebration among family members.. Live long... Never eat wrong...

Definitely a pleasant place to have a lavish buffet. They serve much better food quality and they don’t compromise for anything. Ambience has been made to look like you are entering a Darbaar which is just like during kings rule. Great place for perfect buffet to experience.

Jalsa name conveys entertainment ,what u get is good food !!!!It's a kind of restaurant with peaceful environment. Mostly suitable for families, couples or friends who wants little privacy . It's not at all crowdy and u get tasty food what else one want ???One can get buffet facility absolute barbique . Apart from non-veg/ veg ....sweets , cakes ,pan are available . Finally starting from starters till main course i am satisfied . But compared to AB , Jalsa don't provide much varieties !!! No crispy corn, pineapple,no drinks, no octopus ...etc ...... But you get all items what all you can get in restaurant.
Balaji Rajagopalan
1. Superb Ambience. 2. Reservation Required and most of time booked since its close by to Big SEZ 3. Variety of starters are good and can have more Main course options. 4. Desserts are good. 5. Sufficient car parking available.

This place has been made with the essence of royalty in ambiance , food and hospitality. Recently went to this place for dinner.. and at the same time i was craving for mutton.. so i thought of ordering directly main course. i ordered mutton rara and mutton rohgan josh. i liked mutton roghan josh. the dishes they were near my expectations... i would say i can rate them at 3.5 out of 5. the rara was which actually was lowered the rating.. it was just good. nothing amazing or tantalizing. still it was enough to satiate my craving .. and was not a disappointment at all.

We went to Jalsa for a team lunch. The restaurant is based on Mughlai theme. Even the attire of waiters was according to the theme. So in terms of ambience, it was a good refresher. But the star of the show in the restaurant is food which is really good. The authentic mughlai style food gives a happy taste to your palate. I would love to visit this restaurant again.

just went to this place on the occasion of my birthday and I didn't regret it actually the interior design of this jalsa is quite very good you are just going to love 2 clip pic and you just get up lots of photos and selfie .they will provide you the Pagri .just ordered Soya chaap actually the main thing is that my friend told me that just go and have a soya chap masala as a starter there and it's taste really really good so I just have that things and I also order chicken tikka masala , rumali roti naan and kadai paneer that was also good but you should try this Soya chaap it's good.one more thing it's quite expensive.

Amazingly awesome place and yummy food. The ambience and theme is quite good.. different from usual but the best part is their food. Tastes awesome and few statement dishes are just amazing. We ordered potato shots kinda things . It was amazing.
Priya Mondal
Food was very good. And ambiance and services also nice.
Arvind Carpenter
Interior is awesome, felt like dining in 1980’s restaurant, old songs
Anup
The interior is beautiful food was awesome especially traditional Moghul biryani altogether had a blast
Akshaya Lalith
The ambience here is bright and lovely. Among food I had a paneer starter and dahi ke kabab both of which were good. The service was quick and the prices were okay which I liked about the place.

Better be at home. It’s too crowded and wait time is like hell. I am waiting from last half an hour. They did take the booking over the call but after coming here, it was first come first serve. So if you are planning for Jalsa, please drop the plan
Daksh Tawakley
If you're craving some good old North Indian food, this is the place to be in town. Everything on the non veg menu is pure gold.
PS Ask the servers to give you a turban so you can some traditional photos.
S Bimbashree
The ambience is very good but the buffet variety and taste was ok, not very great
The waiters were very sweet and friendly
Arpan Halder

Full mark for ambiance, but apart from that food is very average, specially naan is like rubber, it was not fresh at all. We ordered veg Briyani, which is not at all fresh.

At last portion size of food is not at par with the price tag.
Kiran Gaikwad
The ambience was okay. Other people might like it but I didn't like the ambience much. The service was not at all good. Now let's come to the main part that is food. Well, it's okay but not great. The only thing I liked was the chicken was well cooked and tender. The Biryani was good. The price is not the worth of the food they serve. Quantity and quality both need improvement.
Ayushi Jain
I have always visited this place for its Starters and would highly recommend to you if you love appetizers. I tried :
- Dahi ke kebab : 100% recommend, MUST TRY, it just melts in the mouth
- Malai Soya Chaap : Recommended, you won't miss Gurgaon/Delhi anymore
- Masala Papd : Exactly the way it should be .
Abhijeet Anand
Food is fantastic here . Especially the Rogan josh they serve h has the taste of authentic Kashmiri Rohan josh. Worth trying .

We chose this Place for Team lunch, Food was really bad, no taster at all.. specially sea food. Prawns & Fish was Horrible...They really need to work in the Quality. you will only see Crowd from surrounding Companies as it's near by. 775+tax for Buffet is not at all worth for the Quality of Food.
Nikita Sinha
The cocktails were equally great as the food. Wide variety of veg and non veg foods. Went for a team dinner here and it was completely worth it.
Gargi Datta
A nice place to go with your family. Ambience and staffs are really good. Foods are really tasty.
Chandan Kumar Das
Food is decent nothing great, nothing to complain. Courteous staff. Ambience is great. Ask for the paan at the end
Sakshi Bansal
The worst buffet i have ever had in my life was here. Went there for team lunch on a weekday, not only the food was bad but the service was worst i have seen. I agree it was crowded but i have been to other crowded buffet places and they are well equiped to handle large number of people unlike this place. In veg selection was very less, food was cold and in terms of dessert, the worst selection I have seen so far. Waste of money and i would recommend not to go.

Awesome food and very nice service by Mr Gowda
Amit Mukherjee
Went here for a team dinner, first thing which we were disappointed is that we were around 15 and instead of pre booking arrangements were not made to sit together, which later they did as their other booking got cancelled. But if you leave that part rest everything was good, their menu is vast in terms of starters, staff was courteous and service was good. Overall a recommend place for family dinner. All items were tasty...
Shilpi
Extremely slow service of food and the waiters are unnecessarily rushing
Abhijith S
Group of 12 people had been here for Dinner. Ambience is good, the service is good and attentive. Food can be better - Considering this is a Rajasthani themed restaurant their signature Lal Maas was a huge letdown. We also had veg and fish starters which were above par but nothing to write home about.
Biju Varghese

We enjoyed the buffet over there. I liked the prawns they served in the starters and their jaljeera was also nice. They didn't had a lot of variety for the main course. For the desserts gulab jamun and Rabri was really delicious. We had a good time over there. Thank you Jalsa..

We came across this restaurant and thought of trying it out. As we entered, it seemed like it was a world within a world. The restaurant was in Rajasthani style and the ambience was fancy. The staff and their service were good. The food was amazing. One would surely relish their taste buds when trying out their menu.

Pathetic cooking of mutton. I have been to this place earlier but this time I was with my family and the mutton was uncooked
Nandini Majumdar
The staff is extremely good. The service provided by them is also very nice. I went with my in laws. We had ordered dahi ke kababs and lassoni murg and tandoori murg.. the chicken had the succulent taste and so juicy. Dahi ke kababs very nicely fried. And for the main course we took biryani. That was perfect blend of spices with real juicy meat inside.
Loved the place.
Animesh Singhai Anora
We went to this place for a casual dinner with couple of drinks on Wednesday evening.
The place is very well decorated and ambiance actually justifies the word Jalsa.
We ordered paneer lazeez (which has layers of mint n red chutney between slices of paneer) and lasooni murg tikka along with veg sibx biryani... The quantity served was good enough and taste was also very good... The food here was not very spicy Nad that's what I liked.
We also ordered veg shor a (soup), which I would say was average and needs to be improved in taste.

Service was quick and staff was very friendly.

Recommended.
Krutarth
Thanks gauda, umesh for service ... Food is excellent with great ambience, good for dinner with family. Non-vegetarian food is speciallity as well as drinks.

Food is good but staff behaviour is very bad. If you are having Zomato Gold please avoid , sometimes they don't accept giving some mean excuse as their policy is different from Zomato gold policy.
This was my first visit to Jalsa. The north indian here is really tasty . What makes it different from the other places is its regal environment and the service.
A special mention to our hosts Tankesh and Umesh.

I have been to this place so many times as it’s near by to my place. Food has never disappointed.
Zomato Gold works here on food so that’s good.
In my latest visit I tried something different i.e. Paneer Pakiza it was so yum, it reminded me of my childhood of a place where I used to eat similar dish stuffed paneer. Veg and non-veg both are good here.
Hara bhara kebab and tandoori Gobi are must try in veg.
Chicken tandoori items are also good.
Better go for rotis and naan as biryani is quite average.
Desserts are also good, malpua rabdi & kulfi are best to try.
Rama Sastry
The ambeince is perfect.
Veg is as good as non veg.
I tried both buffet and ala carte, both are equally tasty and worth.
May once in a month to try something different, this place is good

The palace is very nice and pretty. It will give a very good view of rajasthani look. People serving there always dressed in rajasthani costume with pagri and all. Food is also amazing there. It is just little bit expensive and you can always go with your family and close ones.

Great place for dinner. Food is northern focused! The ambiance is nice and warm. The waiters are dressed in great clothes. Heavy metal plates and serving bowls add to the charm! Food is rich and tasty! Surprisingly doesn’t burn a hole in your pocket. Service can be slow. Try their mutton chops and fish kebabs.

Went for some dinner before catching a movie. On a Friday evening there was no issue getting a table @9pm without reservation.

We had Murgh Kandahari tikka(4/5) which was very well cooked and juicy, Ghost Rara(4/5 medium spicy) which came with 3 mutton pieces and minced mutton, sarson ka saag(3/5) which was made out of canned leaves but not fresh which the easier said us upfront while ordering, garlic butter naan(5/5) - really good naan, buttermilk (3/5) which was average.

Overall:
Service -5/5
Food - 4/5
Ambience - 3/5

Starters were not so good, however main course taste was authentic..enjoyed with family...delivery was super fast and courteous, polite staff. Great place to go for dinner with a Mughal theme based restaurant
Snigdha Das
Food is good, but when it cines to Zomato gold , it's very annoying to see that they are not taking 1 on 1 on food items, they are just counting and deducting the chapati number instead.
Apar Singh
This is a place to hang out with family. Ambience is great and its peaceful. Food is great and service is very good. Staff are very helpful specially kids friendly. We had a great evening here.
Priyal Mehta
The food was really good and the service was even better. We ordered a mixed veg makhani (cashew based) and roti basket. The curry was really tasty. Reporting live from Jalsa. I am regular to this restaurant from last 12 years however this time I had a bad experience becoz of Mr. MIRZA who took our order.
Food no complaint as usual however service and behavior plays a major role in the success of long life satisfactory results of restaurant.
I have been asked for government ID proof for using Zomato ID whereas I have open Zomato ID from my phone in front of him but he was adamant on GOV ID proof and this is the first time I was asked for it.
I do not have an issue for it but it was not 8n good taste and after 12 years of association I have to decide that thia is my last dinner in Jalsa.
I am having my dinner and enjoying my last supper :) and rating 2 becoz of food and reduced 2 becos of adamant behavior.

Life is always not rosy but it can be pleasant by polite behavior
