Review Cafe Max - Bengaluru

Shyam Gopi
They have a good assortment of omelettes. Masala omelette is particularly delicious. Pancakes were a bit dense though. The place has a very relaxed feel to it. Ideal for a chilled out breakfast with loved ones. Christmas songs and decor added to the ambience. Service by Praveen was prompt and efficient. Place needs some maintenance though, especially the furniture.

Interesting breakfast menu with some mouthwatering dishes. The ambience is relaxing although on a weekend, unlike many other breakfast places in Bangalore. Should try for a relaxing breakfast/brunch.

Great ambiance. Sat beside their window overlooking a tree and road by the side. Service was good too, although only 2 tables were occupied. Food - mostly good, but their spicy sandwich was quite bland. Sausages and omlet was fine..loved Espresso Roma. Lime pie is a must try. Meal menu looked good, would try it sometime. Price - higher side. 1500 for 2.

This place is quite nostalgic. Have been visiting this cafe ever since I started learning German. After Cafe Max moved to its new location, I visited it for the first time. The new location has got a warm and welcoming vibe. The ambience is cozy and cheerful. The carrot cake is my all time favourite. Went there just for that and managed to grab the last slice just in time! And the garlic bread served with main course is to die for! Nice place to enjoy an authentic European meal in Bangalore. They make your order fresh so expect a waiting time of about 20 - 25min.

Good exhaustive continental menu. Order steak sangria and caramel cake. Steak was good but sauce was on salty side. Sangaria was ok ok and cake was decadent

The place is nice and cozy. It's on third floor. The items on menu got healthy options but high priced. And the staff were sweet.

One of my favourite cafés here in B’luru. Beautiful and chill ambience, really really good food. Quick service and friendly staff. Again, really good food.

I liked this ambience of this place. Food was good and service was excellent. Have ample seating. Cozy vibes. Great wine options and food. A must must visit. Can be visited with friends and family.

I used to be a regular at Café Max when it was above the Goethe Institute. The desserts were to die for! After ages a friend suggested to meet there and only after I reached I realised it has moved to s new location and has become a full fledged restaurant - a metamorphosis! Lovely welcoming Christmas decor filled the space, very cordial staff, and some great food! We had pumpkin soup and a pasta and they were super filling.

Good spot..good variety of food and drinks. Good service. The mezza platter was yum!! I wish the bruschetta tasted better. Good dessert/ pastry options available. Cheesecake was quite dense. Overall, I thought it was a bit pricey compared to the portion served but whatever we ordered tasted really good.

Lovely café in Indiranagar - by far my favourite in the area. The selection of food is fantastic and everything I have eaten there has been delicious (breakfast, baked goods, breads). The staff is also really polite and welcoming. The ambience is rustic with lots of natural lighting and nice outside sitting.

All time comfort place. Good food, comfortable ambiance, & good enough service. I wait round the year for them to start serving their special Mulled Wine during Christmas and New Year. Not many places in Bangalore have the option.

Our First visit to Cafe Max .. The food is very good, My son loved the pancakes and sausage ❤️

Ambience is good, we tried triple chocolate shake, strawberry smoothie, pasta and veg platter, all were good in taste. Mushroom could have been little less spicy.

A very cute, quaint cafe in the middle of a busy area but still having its own calmness. Very beautiful, very quiet, very homely. For speciality tea they have a collab with Ausum, which was a pleasant brand discovery for me and for their bakery they have The Rolling Pin. Both of them being very unique and very good. The in-house sandwich was very well cooked and had a very familiar, almost nostalgic, taste. The tea presentation is the only thing that I feel could have been improved. A must visit overall.
Kabita Agarwal
A beautiful and cozy cafe with multiple good food and drink options. Tried their Mediterranean crepes and it was really good. Beverages ordered were ok and comparatively pricey.

It's a nice place, but I just came for a breakfast and it's closed. It is said that it opens at 9am, but it's 9:30am and it's still closed. No information why. Last time I had a good omlette and an apple pie. For Bangalore quite good european style. Cappuccino was ok but could be better. Anyway great to have place like this in the city when you miss european cuisine, so I hope next time I come it's open.

Great food and the ambience is quite peaceful too. I have visited this place quite a number of times and whichever dish I have ordered till date, not a single one was a disappointment.Just love this place
Tathagata Bhattacharya
Amazing place with great food and a special shout out to the owner who is extremely good and welcoming. Oh and great service too.
Pooja Ojha
Highly priced. Staff who catered to us was fantastic. Ambience is decent. I found food little plain. May be because I don't have taste for authentic European food :P
Biswarup Sarangi
Undercooked- overpriced with the same soggy potato wedges with every dish. Also a pushy owner who wants u to order fast, eat faster and leave asap.

Went there with my friend for the first time and fell in love with the food ! The ambience was so good either, nice and breezy. All well set up, and thanks to chef who prepared our food. Thank you so much. Please don't fail to check out their wines and desserts, the best amongst all !!

The food is good and authentic , service is excellent . the pocket pinch is a little high for a normal walk in cafe, but a good ambience compensates for it.
Bindhya K Balakrishnan
Great food and ambience. Sangira and Tiramisu a must try ...
Kaustav Banerjee
Horrible food, tasteless and unnecessarily expensive! It's not worth!

Loved thier champagne Sangria and chilled lemon pie

I have been coming to this place for years and it was my favorite cafe in town. But I just had the worst experience today. A simple smoothie, coffee, garlic bread and wedges took 50 minutes. The wedges were raw. The rest of the order took another 45 minutes. Fish fillets were the size of a biggish biscuit. But the clincher really was the behavior of the guy serving us. He is probably one of the most insolent servers I've ever seen. He refused to believe the wedges were raw at first, until he couldn't break them in half. He said he'd get them changed but there was an interminable wait by which time our main course had arrived. I naturally asked him to forget about the wedges. He insisted they were getting 'cooked' but I said there was no point. So he just shrugged, made a rude face, said ok, and left. Nice. Very nice. You guys just lost a very loyal customer. I'm not sure you care, though.

Nice place .. nice food .. good service ... lovely ambiance..

I took my aunt to cafe max, and we ordered a salad, main course each and dessert. All were yummy and quantity just right too. Fresh, delicate tasting. Liked the chilled out ambience, quiet crowd (all in our own worlds), and friendly yet efficient service. Menu is extensive, prices are above average but worth what you pay I guess. I'd love to go back and try out more dishes! The tiramisu was decadent. :)

The food is good and so is the ambience. However they take forever to serve the food. So don't go when you are really hungry and can't wait.

Awesome view, crowd and service (y)

One of my favourites for an all day breakfast! The eggs and tea are delicious. The rooftop makes for a great view :)

Went there for a breakfast date. It's an amazing place with enormous menu and alot of choices and the food taste good too. Also it's economical. Loved their cheesecake.

Chose this place to catch up with friends. Unfortunately, it is so popular that there's a lot of waiting that needs to be done - for seats, for attention by waiters, for the food, for the bill, for the restroom, etc.

On the flip side, it's the busy ambience that adds the background buzz and keeps it hip. Plus - the food and drinks are good!
Mrinal Chakroborty
It's a lovely place above Cafe Coffee Day on 100 ft road, Indiranagar - nicely decorated , god polite service ans they have a open balcony too. A must try of their Salads, Bavarian Meat Loaf, Pork Ribs, sausages and cheesecake, finger licking, wine a must try too.

Spot the difference: one is aloo bharta and the other is a bit close to mashed potatoes but not quite. We'd gone to Cafe Max with great expectations as I'd heard the food is great. Well, neither the food is great and nor is the service. In fact, far from that. The servers are either ignorant or sullen. They argue instead of accepting they've messed up. The coffee was cold, the snitchzel was undercooked and didn't have salt, and the mashed potatoes had no cream or seasoning. And when we complained to the server and the "chef" they argued for a while before agreeing to take it back and replace it. All in all, very disappointed.

This amazing cafe serves the best European food. It's a very unsuspecting place and we are happy to have discovered this place a while back. French toast served with maple syrup and fresh cream is too good. The chicken skewers, meat balls were amazing starters. We thought the Pork ribs would be the highlight when we started having it. But the Philadelphia cheesecake just won it for us!!
Tried their breakfast options the second time around and realised how satisfying a good breakfast can be on a Sunday morning. Finished off the breakfast with a blackberry cheesecake, which turned out to be less impressive than the last time. However I'll definitely be visiting again :)

We have always loved Max's Cafe. First of all they MOVED 3 months ago. No longer under the German Institute. The new location is wonderfully fresh and new. The decor is simple and stylish. The food is the same, marvelous. The sandwich, was the best I have had in Bangalore. Roasted vegetables, egg, chicken, and lettuce was fresh. The sausages were flavorful. Mashed potatoes were seasoned to perfection. Cant say enough about the food. Had fresh berry drinks that were terrific. Wait staff was attentive and professional.

We reached the cafe at 10:40ish and they made us wait till 11 before telling us that they are no longer taking any orders. They saw us being seated and one of the waiters even said he would bring the menu.Very indecent way to treat your customers.

4/5

Breakfasts' always beautiful at Max.

Omelette filled with mushrooms and cheese hit the spot. If you're into cheesy oodles of goodness, you'd love this omelette.

The sausages were alright. My company for breakfast today didn't seem to take a liking to them. Her justification? "Their Frankfurters are better. This is not the flavor I seek when I order sausages". I agreed.

Pancakes & maple were top quality. They came with chopped up kiwis, bananas, oranges and precariously placed pomegranates - in a small bowl. Refreshing stuff.

The bread was a personal. Stole the show. Might ask them if I can take some home.

Max Brekka: 4/5 😄

After reading about this place, I came here for breakfast and was disappointed at the level of service. First of all, the staff couldn't understand our order and the waiter had to 3 times confirm what was available in the kitchen. I ordered a sandwich with multi grain bread; this place offers to choose your own bread; however, the order I received was only in white bread. When I raised it with waiter, he came back with explanation that they don't have multi grain bread, while, I can see that the next table had ordered the same sandwich and the cook got it right for them. The waiters were not even concerned about serving us. The banana with date smoothie was only half banana and milk. Haven't had worst breakfast...

I have been to the Cafe Max last when they were still part of the Gothe. This time we were there during Christmas time. Since the time they left Gothe a lot has changed - (1) they are now much busier, which is good for them (2) their portions are smaller, this is one area they should change, increase the prices if they have to, but make the portions Bavarian again (3) They serve supermarket sausages and meatloaf for which I do not need to go to them, so whatever happened to authenticity (4) Taste has come down, from great to OK (5) Service is almost non existent, we even declined to pay for the service charge. Saving grace is the staff is still very courteous, to be fair they said they faced some recent staff attrition. In summary, they have come high street but seem to have lost their act. Not sure if they are any longer my destination if I am looking to satiate some Bavarian craving!!

I have always loved Cafe Max, their food and ambience and vibe. Today I was especially surprised because they were super crowded but I still got my drink very quickly. Thanks to Biren who went out of his way to make sure I have a lovely experience. Hope to visit soon! Highly recommend this place :)

Have been to this place twice.
It's a little overpriced.
The cheesy penne pasta was really creamy and tasty. Definitely one of the best pastas I've had.
Hot chocolate was really rich and yummy.
The chicken shnitzel was okay. A bit dry for my taste.
Grilled chicken with rice was good.
Tiramisu we had was really bitter. Couldn't finish it.
Sakthi Ganesh
Great ambience overlooking 100ft road. Their Gluhwein (German version of mulled wine) was strong and was perfect for the cold December morning.

The Shepard's pie was decent but the quantity wasn't much for the price.

Butter fish frankfurt style was amazing. Must try

Hope the new setup is as good as the old one .... absolutely love the old one on CMH road

Love this place. Ambiance is like a goan place. Very chill, nothing fancy but clean. I think the owners are german and have curated a fab menu. Pasta was great, so was the veg baked pie. Carrot Cake is amazing. They serve wine. Overall a great exp. Value for money.
Karan
Phenomenal Food selection especially their breakfast items. Since it's a German Bakery their breads, bacon and desserts are top quality. Would definitely love to come back here again and again!

Bad service on Sunday afternoon.

Oh the Salmon, easily the best salmon I've tasted in a long time. The cook was perfect. Love the cozy atmosphere and the service. Their cheese cakes and pies are definitely worth trying. Can be heavy on the wallet.

This fine saturday the 1st of Nov, happens to be our first visit to Cafe Max. The food and ambience was very delightful. The Wine Chilli Mushrooms were a juicy treat along with the Roasted Vegetable Tartlets in crispy shells. The Shepard's Pie and the Fettuccini in Red Pesto were tummy filling! Anusha Hegde

A very delightful little place, I frequent this place and I highly recommend this for cozy dates or with friends that enjoy good and cheerful conversations over going to loud pubs. They have a mulled wine festival every year around Christmas and it's something you just can't miss.

Discovering new places in a familiar locale is always a great moment. Nestled on top of the many CCDs in the city, up a staircase by the side...this cafe has a cosy and beautiful ambience.

I had a latte macchiato while my parents had a cappuccino each. Delicious with a proper mouthful, it was a wonderful start to the meal. Combined with that were Swedish Meatballs with minced chicken topped with a mustard cream sauce which made a firm and tasty combo.

Finally, the finish was with Butter Fish "Frankfurt Style" which ended up being acceptable. The basa fillet was acceptable while the sauteed potatoes didn't combine well.

The patisserie was limited in options when we were there, and I didn't find a lot of good combinations with the beverages available.

The ambience was wonderful and Prasant, our server, was brilliant in conversation and adjusting when we changed our order. Definitely worth a revisit.

This is a cafe on top of the German max Muller institute with no markings below. The place had a very formal cafe charm. Hot chocolate, coffee are accompanied with a salted cookie.
The breakfast menu is quite elaborate. Loved the eggs with the bacon!
Hot chocolate is pretty good!
Abhishek Sinha
Sausage breakfast is a joke. Refer to my pic and that's what it is. Low quality cheap stuff....Lol. Fully disappointed considering they claim to be a German cafe. I can do better than you chef 😁

The new face lift has been tastefully done. Really liked the ambience .
Prashant was very proactive and took good care of us. His suggestion on choice of food hit the sweet spot . Very courteous and professional.

Had a really good time , entire family enjoyed .
Thank you very much

I live cafe max. One of the best continental breakfast and food place. Everything about cafe max is nice
Kritika Kaushal
Great ambience, decent food. This place is becoming my favourite goto place for weekends.
Overall - The food is mild on taste, as a European cuisine should be. The wine, breakfast and brunch options are good. Yet to try their steaks and the dinner menu.

It's not very heavy on pocket and has some excellent home made desserts (must try their blueberry crumble pie - pic attached). The Spanish omelette and fish that I ordered were good and filling. They served the egg with sour cream - compensating for the need for cheese and being healthier at the same time . The fish fillet was fresh and capers gave the dish a nice kick. Their ginger watermelon cocktail is also good.
This places serves Italian and German Cuisine.
Food: we tried chicken strangonoff which was ok.Beef roulade fillet was good.Zaragozza sizzler in this dish the meat is soft and the flavour is sweet it was fine.Chicken
Schnitzel was not good it was to blan.
Drinks:we had red sangria which was sweet and nice.
Ambience:it’s a rooftop,this place has a got a retro vibe.
Service:extremely slow, we got our food almost after an hour of placing our order.
Varsha Alva
Came here for breakfast and ordered a chicken breakfast platter. Loved the sausages and the croissants were buttery and good. Scrambled eggs were also decent but we felt that they could have seasoned it a little better.
The ambience seemed cozy and calm enough for you to sit there for a couple of hours with good company.
Will definitely visit to try more...
Bindhya
Beautiful German cafe .. Nice and calm place . We orderd many dish and the best was White and red wine Sangria and Tiramisuuu ... mushroom starter was also good.

Food 4/5
Ambiance 4/5
Service 4/5
Value for money 4/5
So many talks about Cafe Max! And finally we did visit this place.

It's a very peaceful rooftop cafe with minimal decor but at the same time very relaxing. Just a red gerbera and a n open atmosphere.

The food was great and I really liked the dessert.
I do wish to visit this place again as I tried just Risotto and Salad.
Ranita Sarma
A cute little place for some European cuisine 😍😍 The Tiramisu was divine 🤤🤤 also love their selection of wines. Ambience is so perfect for a date night.
Jas
Visited this place on friends’ recommendation. Calm cozy place but was unable to impress me with the food...
I liked the Classic pasta or I would say this dish was a saviour for us.
Priyam Banerjee
Ambience and music is great. Nice views from the big windows.
The food only looks good.
We had ordered Greek moussaka and quiche Lorraine. Both were disappointing.
Through My Lens
Had a lovely little vegetable sandwich with potato wedges from this place. The sandwich tasted pretty nice, nothing extraordinary though. The wedges were still crispy.
Aradhana Dayal
European menu with good portioned meal. The chicken schintzel was a bit dry and overpowered by tomatoes all over. Rest fine. Delicious desserts. Courteous waiter. Though feel the sitting can be improved.

Last month my aunt, brother and myself went out for lunch here in Cafe Max. They have an amazing spread of droolworthy dessert that greets you the moment you enter this place. It's a rooftop area located on the topfloor of MaxMueller Bhavan.
We ordered
1.Chicken Schnitzel- it was topped with tomatoes & melted cheese and was served with potato wedges and broccoli . It was good.
2. Roasted Chicken- This was the best of the lot(alongwith the Bb cheesecake),was served with mushroom barbeque sauce, mashed potatoes and greens. It was very tasty!
3. Blueberry Cheesecake- This is the best Cheesecake I have had tilldate! It looks good and tastes even better!
4. Philadelphia Cheesecake - Tasted it's usual self, not amazing like the previous one.
5. Chocolate cake with salted caramel - It was good too but Blueberry cheesecake stole the show.

The menu is moderately priced, the staff is good and so is the decor. It has very chill vibes with Classic english hits being played in the background.
Loved the place, would go back again for sure :)
The Coffee Addict
Its been years since I have been wanting to visit Max Café. Finally made it for breakfast yesterday.

A cheerful terrace in the terrace of Max Muller Bhavan where Goethe Institute is housed.

For sure it has this airy and an abundant vibe as you enter.

We ordered for Bockwurst grilled sausage, Spanish chili chicken sandwich with multigrain bread, cappuccino and water melon juice.

The Bockwurst grilled sausage was good, but somehow was bland and lacked the mild white pepper paprika flavors it is known for. In fact, was less on salt too.

The sandwich was fantastic. The grilled chicken was terrific, and the bread was fresh. In fact, the best part of our breakfast was the combination of the sandwich and coffee. The watermelon juice was nice too.

Wanted to try their blackberry cheesecake but were in a hurry. Will try the next time.

Service is impressive. The staff is very polite, courteous and quick.

Price is reasonable .
Aakash Bhattacharya
Pathetic service, bad food is what describe this over-hyped place.

Visited for breakfast. The service was totally slow and unresponsive. After placing the order we were told that some of the items in out breakfast platters are not available. Very unprofessional, food was also not up to the mark and the prices are totally unjustified. Much better breakfast places in Bangalore exist.

One of the worst pancakes I've ever had!
MEher
Had been to this place a couple of times and must say the food here speaks for itself..

Simple cafe atmosphere, not here for the decor or ambience. Very casual and friendly vibes.

Food is what steals the show here.. their continental cuisine is yum..

Hope to visit again soon.
Soumyadityadey
Awesome place to chill and hangout with friends over delicious German food and drinks.
The service is not too quick but the waiters are extremely sweet.
Nikhil Wad
A nice cosy cafe where you can enjoy reading a book or have a chit chat with your friend. Very polite and friendly staff. Had been there with my friend for the first time and tried their Mediterranean Crepes & Cappuccino. Unfortunately, our crepes came bland with no salt in it. Immediately on informing the concerned staff, they got us the new order. That was perfect. Sometimes glitches happen and that's fine.
Keerti Yagik
My rating says it all, the Best place for any kind of occasion eating and meeting,
Dine to wine, feel and look, everything is splendid,

My fav dish is butterfish :) reader should try it ,
Rajashree Gopinath
We ordered a prawn starter, pasta and a drink. It was salty and dry. When we informed the waiter to take back the drink he took a spoon from our table and had a sip of the drink and told us that it tasted good. No WiFi & no network.
Fawzeya
Nice atmosphere, the food is continental and not spicy. The stuff are very courteous. The food is at the level of a café, simple and good. The atmosphere and music is relaxing.
Krishna Raha
Nice cosy place - perfect to come along with a book or a journal and introspect with a glass of wine. Or with friends and to enjoy a good Bangalore weather.

The music is not loud (don't remember if they were playing any music) that let's you enjoy your conversations without having to scream your lungs out.

The staff is polite and responsive.

We only had Sangrias ( try the rose' pitcher) - on first few it will seem like it doesn't have enough alcohol but the effect kicks in later.

Will comeback again for the food and will update this review once we have tasted a few dishes.
Jahnavi Verma
I am feeling horrible writing this review coz there was a time I loved the food at cafe max . Yesterday’s experience was horrible . My friend and I went for lunch and she ordered the German dumplings and I ordered the BBQ chicken salad , and I have to say they were both terrible .
The dumplings looked more like potato patties which were tasteless as there was no seasoning and the BBQ chicken salad was horrible . Not what you would expect in a salad , coz it did not look like one . The bbq chicken was disgustingly sweet, like abominably sweet , and the salad well as per the description was just lettuce n bell peppers with zero seasoning .
The only highlight was the dessert which was the salted caramel chocolate cake , which was really nice .
After being on my go-to list for quite a long time, we visited Cafe Max during a pre Christmas week last year.

As we stepped in for lunch, we could see the whole place was filled with red and green colours for Christmas! It had such lovely vibes.

We settled in our chairs and ordered a Clear Chicken soup with a mushroom, bell pepper and cheese Calzone.
Both the dishes had a burst of flavours. Spot on!

Then came the Butter fish Frankfurt style. It had fillet of fish, sauteed baby potatoes n tossed broccolis on the side. Light yet tasty it was.

We tasted their Christmas special 'Gluwein' which is a spiced warm red wine. It resembled the authentic European one, which they sell at Christmas markets! Amazing.

We ended our meal with a Pecan cheesecake. It was less on the sweet side and had flavours of the roasted pecan nuts.

An authentic German place with flavours from parts of Europe, must try!
Gunjan Pandey
This is my every Weekend place for lunch, you will find me there always having breakfast or Lunch. I love french Ratatouille, Calzone and my friend loves to have Tomato Mozzarella and his favourite Weiner Schnitzel which is very close to authentic German cuisine. They have quite impressive menu with variety of European cuisine.

Ambience, environment, music everything was best about this place. Open terrace area and well maintained, very good presentation. Good variety of food. The range of dessert available was amazing. We had carrot cake which was very tasty. The flavor of all the spices were apt. The best lasagne I ever had 😍😍 I am in love with this place ..gonna recommend it to everyone

Open Terrace Area
Authentic German & European Cuisine
Sangria
Desserts

If all the above is what you are expecting for your weekend brunch scenes then this is the place to be..

💁🏻‍♀️TummyTumms Recommendations:

• Bavarian Meatloaf: which is a loaf )thick slice, if I may) of pork, smoked and lightly grilled, served with fluffy mashed potatoes, honeyed lettuce and a delectable sweet-strong mustard sauce. One is enough to fill a hungry stomach, but you’re definitely going to be tempted to eat another.
• Shepard’s Pie
• Beef Fillet
• Beef Roulade
• Spaghetti and meat balls
• Baked Philadelphia Cheesecake
• ChocolateTruffle Pastry

Quick Points:

• Breakfast ends by 1pm (and they are pretty strict with timings)
• Fish dishes aren’t good..Lack of flavors
• Good Quality
• Great Portions
• Quick Service
• Prices are high (But once in a while, you don’t mind splurging on yourself)

Perfect for dinner dates. Food is great, dessert has variety. I would suggest the place for dinner more than lunch. Meant for family, friends, couple meets
Ankita Maharana
All day breakfast place. Loved the sausages and the crepes. It's not a place to visit if it's on a hot sunny summer as they do not have AC.. that's the only drawback in this place. Else awesome food..

Ah, Cafe Max! Is all I can say. Just the best cafe for anytime of day. Located on the rooftop at the Goethe-Institut Max Mueller Bhavan in Indiranagar, it's location can't get any better. And it's obviously a treat for the students at the centre. Definitely popular for the German cuisine but also make delicious other dishes. Tried tons of dishes here as you can see in the photos below. I literally have no complaints about any of the dishes - being 💯 honest here. What I would request, however, is that they maintain the same quality and consistency unlike alot of the restaurants that are now serving low grade food. I'm confident that Cafe Max will, as always serve top-quality food that will forever get my heart strings. Will go back several times without a doubt. For breakfast, lunch and dinner depending on my mood for the day :)

*Spanish Chicken Meatballs - Tapas Style - served with almond white wine sauce

*Mozzarella cheese sticks - absolute heaven in all that cheesy goodness!

*Chicken Schnitzel Milano Style - roasted in breadcrumbs and served with parmesan, fresh tomatoes, potatoes and broccoli

*Butter Fish Frankfurt Style - Crumbed Basa served with broccoli, potatoes and butter-caper sauce

*Spaghetti and Meatballs - served with homemade red sauce

*Pasta a la Panna (chicken) - served with white wine sauce and mixed vegetables

*Buttered herb rice with mixed vegetables

*Hazelnut Chocolate Ganache cake - available at the counter

Being a hotel management student we had to go here as a part of our assignment on the 17 course menu and we discovered variety of other flavors than the ones we generally order. We tried out chicken skewers and cold cucumber soup. Cold cucumber soup was just authentic and they way it was supposed to be. Chicken skewers had a sweet and sour taste in it. Overall it was a great experience.
Coming to the ambience it's situated in the 2nd floor with a really cool ambience and below that is the decorations shop.

Haven't been to such a cozy and comfortable place in a while.Situated on the top floor of a German institute, Cafe Max offers some limited but amazing continental choices in their menu. The window side seating on a covered terrace is beyond comfortable. We tried the Ice Berry Cappucino, Spanish Style Prawn served with fresh baked foccasia which is to die for, Chicken Schnitzel and Spaghetti with Meatballs. Definitely visiting more often!
Anchal Singh
Very peaceful ambience. I had nice Sunday morning breakfast. Farmers breakfast is great. The omelette was cooked to perfection and the baked baby potatoes was very yummy. They serve Nice seasonal smoothies. Nice place for lazy breakfast.

A very cozy, offbeat and off-the track kind of place. Looks more like a college canteen. Good food, very minimal and relaxed set up. If you are in or around indiranagar and wants some no-frills eating experience, then is one of the opt places to visit.
Juhi Goel
Love the lasagne here and the sangaria. Not a wine fan but stilled loved it. It is a nice place for dates. Wont really be disappointed. Do try!

It was a hot Friday afternoon when we ended up I. cafe Max which is located on the top floor of the Max Mueller Bhavan. While there was no AC (which in turn meant the food is cheaper), there was a very breezy ambience about that place.

The food was generally good with different people ordering everything from fish, pasta, chicken and beef. The pasta ( spaghetti with olive oil and spices) was definitely the pick up the bunch! The chicken schnitzel and chicken strips rice was pretty good as well.

The pick of the day however we're the cheesecakes with the Trippe player cheesecake being amongst the best I've ever eaten anywhere. So good! Check out the pics

The prices were reasonable and the service was a tad bit slow.

Cafe Max offers you a German cuisine and breakfast, which is the part of the German institute Goethe. We tried their sauted omelette with mushrooms and Greek yogurt which was absolutely delicious, along with this we were sipping on a appetizing hot chocolate. This place is located on a top floor of the building with a classy ambience. Overall a good place that offers German cuisine.

Slightly crowded during the weekends.

Just like the sausages in Germany, the Frankfurters here are so good! Mashed potato’s go well with it.

Service time is quite high. They are pretty generous with the portion size.

The Prawn Cocktail was quite bland for the starters but the Bavarian meat loaf and the Philadelphia Cheesecake made up for it.

The ambience is perfect for a romantic date or a quiet evening with friends. The German hot chocolate is the best I've had in Bangalore. The steaks are cooked well. The service could be better. Overall, a good time :)

I've been willing to visit this place for breakfast from quite a while. Finally we managed to have a late breakfast over here. It in on top of a German Institute. Ambiance is rustic and quite regular.
Coming to food
I ordered Sunny side up with bacon as add on. One of the best Bacon I had in Bangalore. Though its a bit costly but worth it. Bread is also made in the house and it was quite fresh.
French Cajun chicken sandwich: This one also was good.
Over all a good place for breakfast and quality food.

This was my first visit at Cafe Max but having heard good things about it, thought of giving it a try. The experience was indeed good!

I ordered Beef fillet. The beef fillet was quite tender cooked to medium, topped with brown peppery sauce and cilantro. Sides included perfectly roasted potatoes, roasted mushrooms and some haricot beans. Taste was really refined and exceeded my expectations.

I also ordered a Latte Macchiato. Being a Melburnian, wouldn’t say it was one of the best coffees I had but it was nevertheless good. Worth a try! Will definitely pay another visit here if I am in the town.

Had a short visit to this place and I liked it. Their menu is rich in varieties of items to order. Staffs are humble and graceful.. A must try out cafe in indiranagar

Good place for a lazy brunch. My go to is the farmer's breakfast. Also the crepes here are very delicious. Pricing is a bit on the higher and service is a bit slow because of which four stars instead of five stars.

The place has a good potential and their menu is a curated good spread with some unique varieties and options which you will not find in other usual breakfast joints and cafes in Bangalore.
The problem I have is with their service - especially on weekdays. Half of the menu is not available and it takes 1 hour to serve a normal farmers breakfast.
Weekend service and scenario turn out to be quite different and contrasting though.
Recommended - hot chocolate, farmers breakfast, sausage, Sunday breakfast, crepes.

I am a regular and have always loved this place. It is trendy and modern and refreshingly chic!
However, had a terrible experience this morning with an extremely rude waiter who got my order completely wrong and when I politely pointed it out got extremely agitated and aggressive! Can the management kind ensure that the waiters extend basic courtesy to customers and also educate them on opening on time ( 9 am is late enough for breakfast for a lot of people and they kept us waiting till 9:15 am) and also to train the waiters on the fact that a sunny side egg order is exactly that and not over hard ! And the fact that a sunny side egg is also a fried egg - just with runnier yolk!!!!

There isn't much to be said about the look and feel of the place. Discovered this place recently. Served by courteous staff. Would recommend the farmer's breakfast as well the well made french toast. Definitely worth visiting.

Lovely place with a cozy feel. Perfect place to spend a good afternoon writing or reading accompanied with great food. Found the right place to enjoy Glühwein during Christmas :)
Please change/train the staff responsible for table reservations. I had a really tough time conversing with Mr. Dinesh - he seemed to be very tangential and had no clue of customer service.

One of my top most favourite places to dine in the city. Simple decor and lovely ambience. One can even spend some lone time sipping some wine or coffee. Food is authentic with it's not so vast menu. The Christmas specials are a delight. A must visit for some fun, light, authentic European cuisine.

One of the best brunch places in Indiranagar. The rooftop location makes it breezy and pleasant in the warmer months, and their sangrias are a must try. If you have a dessert craving, be sure to check their bakery; the carrot cake and cheesecakes are very delicious. Since it's not a big space, the service can be a bit slow when packed.

I really find this place alluring for people who likes to sit, chit chat, binge on some delicious food with a glass of wine and an appetizing dessert.

Hot Chocolate can be improved which I had tried on my last visit.
Food - 5*
Ambience - 4.5*
Drinks-4*
Desserts - 4.5*
Staff- 5*

Food is good. This can be one of the best options for continental food. Ambience is not good. Kitchen area is close to dining area so the smoke from kitchen made it little uncomfortable.
The Hungrybagacker
This was my everyday place during my french class days. They serve amazing pasta wat I loved is the honey fried potato wedges an their delicious deserts.Though a bit pricey worth giving a try.The service is very slow which is a disappointment.

Food:4/5
Service:3/5
Ambience:4/5
Value for money:3.5/5
Elegant interiors if not posh. Polite staff and quick turnaround of food from order to table. Limited beverage options (like no fresh press juice) took away 1 star. Unique wine cocktails - must try !

This quaint little place between the buzzing eateries of Indranagar stands out for it use of fresh produce to make simple but delicious meals. We normally opt for a main course straight away with a glass of wine saving the calories of the appetisers for dessert!
The Quiche Lorraine is one of my favourite - it’s got the perfect flaky crust and freshly baked goodness. Also the Chicken Schitznel is well balanced and the potato wedges are to die for. Their beef based main courses are also good and would recommend the Beef Roulade. Their soups and sandwiches are full of flavour and the freshly baked bread requires a special mention. All their desserts are to die for but the ones to really die for are the Tiramisu and Lemon Tart.
It took me a while to make it to Cafe Max, but when I finally did I instantly knew that it is a place I will keep coming back to.

Went here on a food date w my two friends and everything from the seating to the food was great. I love that the water they serve has mint in it. The service is a little slow, so be prepared to wait.
