Review Benjarong - Bengaluru

Located right across the street from my office so this is a very convenient option. The service is fast and friendly. Papaya salad and chicken satay are great. There’s something in the Tom kha which tastes a bit off/sour so I did not drink it. The pad Thai was very tasty as well. Save room for the chocolate mousse - tastes like a combination between chocolate pudding and brownie batter!

Ambience and food was great. Thai curry nad jasmine rice as well as flat noddles were very tasty. The green curry was thicker than whatever we have had in other Thai restaurants - frankly not sure if it is supposed to be that way. Restaurant staff was excellent.

A quaint and homely restaurant I lived the atmosphere at this place coz it was not noisy just calm . The food was pretty good as well. Although I must that they are a but pricey but the food is truly worth every dime.......... Money well spent I must say. I really enjoyed the dessert which was the Thai fruit in a coconut cream

A cozy restaurant tucked away in Ulsoor, with great food and good service. We tried their executive set menu lunch and each and every course we received was packed with authentic Thai flavours. The set meal itself was the right quality without having to overstuff ourselves.

*Nice ambience, decent food and friendly staff* If you are looking for a quiet environment with a decent food this should be considered. We opted for the set menu which had limited choice, but found to be good. We opted for the 'spicy' soup but that turned to be very spicy for me. The desert we opted was made of 'water chestnut' and turned out to be good.

One of the best Thai food I've had in India great selection of foods & their prawns were so yummy. The space is a little weird because it's probably a converted house & also space is limited reservations is highly recommended specially for Friday & weekends

My favorite Thai restaurant in Bangalore. Simple decor, friendly staff and great food. On zomato gold which makes the experience even better. Valet parking is a big plus. We tried Phad thai prawn, fish cakes, Fried rice which came wrapped in an omelette bowl, and grilled chicken in pandang leaves. Their complementary salad is perfect. Must try!

Delicious Thai cuisines. Surprisingly when recently I made a trip to Bangkok the food taste was exactly the same. This place is authentically Thai. My Thai family loves this place. Do visit

A great place to have authentic Thai food.. The taste of food and the service was awesome.. Except for one dish (the fish patty with lemon grass) which we chose as a wrong option.. Apart from that the Thai chicken fried rice, pineapple fried rice and grill chicken rolled in some leaf (starters) were awesome.. Try Basil chicken rice and Phad Thai which are the most preferred Thai foods.. They also serve alcohol, cocktails and mock tails here.. The price of both the drinks and food are bit expensive comparatively however a nice place to dine with good ambience with both friends and family..

Best Thai food restaurant in Bangalore... Very happy with the taste of the food. Very authentic flavors. Very good quantity.

On 8th dec. Afternoon. My family and i had the meal of our lives. Chicken pad thai was astronomical. The starters of chicken and fish were mind blowing. Usually its an annual visit...may happen sooner.

There is a special comforting feel to Thai food that keeps on pulling me back in all the time. So, we had another trip to satiate this urge at Benjorang, Ulsoor. The place was neatly decorated with not too much of a crowd and quite courteous staff.

For starters, we had the Thai Grilled chicken. It was a delicious experience, with an overwhelming flavor of the sauces, an exotic Thai delicacy.

Next we had the Som Tam salad, which is a Raw Mango and papaya salad with a tangy and spicy confluence. This too was up to the mark. The juices were so beautifully blended that we gobbled up the entire thing even with such a high spice quotient. The nuts added to the flavor and all in all the dish had a unique refreshing trait to it.

Next we had the Thai Green curry and the Pineapple Fried rice as our main course. The Thai green curry always has a comforting taste to it and is one of my personal favorites. Benjorang lived up to its name as a Thai joint by serving what seemed to be an authentic version. Diced chicken, served in a bowlful of creamy coconut paste with aubergines and a side of sticky white rice was like a vacation to my taste buds. The subtle homely taste was what this restaurant delivered to my utmost liking.

Pineapple fried rice was another dish that we absolutely loved. Sticky rice fried in coconut oil and the flavor of the soy sauce mixed with a tanginess of the pineapple was a perfect combination of all the flavors in one.

Benjorang surely has a lot of promise in terms of Thai food. Will definitely visit this place more than once..

Visited for a weekday dinner. Not crowded. Loved their ambience. Tried their famous starter chicken in pandan leaves. It was average taste. Pineapple shrimp fried rice was good. Their staff service and presentation is awesome. Bit pricey but lovely ambience

The ambience is good, the food was fresh. It's a good place to go with people who like Asian food. (Others will have a hard time there!)
Must Eat : Fish Cake!
Bash Ashok
The appetizers were very good. Service was good as well. Main courses were acceptable - average to above average. However we were shocked to see vanilla ice-cream passed off as tender coconut ice-cream in the dessert section. There was no taste of tender coconut whatsoever. When we told them this, they denied it. So as long as you stay away from this it is a good place to visit.
Tina Vinod
For the price charged the food quality is bad and the coconut based curry was stale.
Anuj Patel
The ambiance is really good and perfect for family outings.
It's Thai and Asian cuisine.
The serve was great and staff were helpful.

Coming to the food, it's excellent.

Their Thai curry was delicious and had the perfect taste.
All other item was delicious as well.

The only down point is the price as it's expensive but understandable on the quality served.

Food - 5/5
Ambiance - 5/5
Staff 5/5
Price - 4/5

Good quantity and quality!! Miang Kham the welcome dish is a killer starter to the Thai cuisine. Then we had some amazing starters of prawns, beef and chicken. With the recommendation of Vijay, opted for Jasmine rice with Thai green and red curry as our main course. Finally, finished off with fried icecream which was just about average.

Great Thai food. Have been coming here for a long time now. They never disappoint. Try anything on the menu and it’s very good.. cozy place for a nice dinner or lunche. Staff is. Very courteous

I have been going to this place since years and I just love the food served. It happens to be one of my most favourite restaurants. Since I have relocated to US, I’ve had had food many times in Thai Restaurants all over US, but nothing beats the taste of the dishes in this place. Love it and hoping to be there soon
Chitra
Lovely Thai place, tried Prawns Tod Prik Tai On,Pahd Thai Pak- flat noodles and the lastly desserts...that's so pleasant never had a desert like this, do try both the desserts - sankhaya fakhthong and tub tin grob..

A Thai restaurant in Ulsoor which serves authentic Thai cuisine. The food is okay and the ambience needs improvement. The staff is polite. There are very few options for vegetarians. This place is not much crowded. Water chestnuts are a must try here.
Sowmya
Ordered for some thai veg curry which tasted similar to the kerala fish gravy and vegetables put inside it.
Jasmine rice which was a boiled dona masoori rice.
Just fooling people with fake names
The Being Man
Very surprised that I haven't reviewed this gem of a place before. Absolutely brilliant and equally no-nonsene place where all it matters ia food.

Gai Hor Baitey, what a wonderful marriage of marinated chicken pieces and pandan leaves. Very deep fried and very delicious.

Khao Pahd Sapparet, oh my my, pineapple never tasted this better. The rice was served on a pineapple shell, 10/10

Rad Prik, chicken. Marvelously cooked in chili and basil sause. Oh, Asia, you beauty...

Tub Tim Grob, doesnt need any introduction.

Ayesha Younus
I love Thai food and this place was on my list for quite sometime now .
Unfortunately the place both its ambience and food did not appeal to me .
They also are on a pricier side and should Relook this.
With so much competition around they definitely need to re look their food .

Good place, good food. Located nonchalantly nearby Ulsoor lake street. Very homely ambience. And much courteous staff. Good options available for both veg and non veg. Everything we ordered was served promptly and was up to the mark of Thai benchmark that we had from past reference of similar diners. The fish green curry could have been better but still was very good. They also serve good range of alcohol. Moët wasn’t available so my spouse was slightly let down, overall a very good place to eat and not too heavy on the pocket. 2000 INR for 2 people including taxes.
A Saturday afternoon well spent.
Angana Pal
Went here for dinner on a Saturday night. The decor is not too jazzy..perfectly to the point. The Thai dishes are undoubtedly the best in town. The pineapple fried rice is a must try. Had a great fine dining experience.

Good good, good service, no frills ambience. Street parking-makes it tough to drive there. Tried a few starters and green curry. The green curry was outstanding!

One of the old authentic Thai restaurant and one of the best Thai cuisine you would get in Bangalore. You can smell, taste and experience authenticity in all the dishes they serve.

With so many upcoming food joints, seems to be loosing on crowd however their signature lettuce tray to welcome with all condiments is always refreshing.

chicken wrapped in leaf is all time favourite, crispy fish with choice of your sauce is full of flavour, prawn satay cooked well with right balance of spices. curry and rice are flavourful and comfort.

all in all, place to revisit again and again
Mohammed Younus (MYFoodMemoir)
I am a huge fan of thai food and Benjarong was a long due visit. Visit the place and it was a mixed experience. As much as I wanted to like the food, the price for it wasn't worth it. I feel they need to look at their pricing big time. Ambience vs food vs price has a mismatch. From a value for money point of you, the competition if so far ahead. Hope they understand. I hope they will understand.

Great ambience. Lovely soothing music playing in the background.. felt more like Chinese than Thai. However food tasted fresh n yummy. Must visit for a Thai cuisine.
Ratika & Richa
First lunch happened at Benjarong Thai restaurant.
Place was easily accessible, looked decent, not like very fancy outlets.
The menu was so well planned, had n number of options for all courses, vegetarian & non vegetarian.
We were welcomed with a complementary platter of ‘Miang Kahan’ one of the dishes that we made in beginning of Cauldron Sisters 👯
We were pretty full with Miang Kham so we kept it light by ordering, a marinated Mushroom Satay kind of dish, which had some Som Tam salad along with it.
For main course we chose a simple Pad Thai noodles. Both the dishes were made exactly like it was in Thailand (what we tasted in our past trips) Made us so nostalgic.
One thing we felt at all places in Bangalore, food is superb, reasonable & served with a smile 😊
We kept some space for our favorite dessert, Tim Tub Grob aka ruby red.
Best we ever had, wish we could stuff one more portion 🙈
Can’t wait to visit again!
Keep rocking!

A quaint little place that serves some good Thai food. Loved the food served here. Normally you don't really get the real good Thai food but this place the food was pretty darn good.
Ambience : I would give 4/5 . The atmosphere is pretty calm and clean. Its kinda homely to an extent
Food : I would give a 4/5 ....... Pretty good out of everything that we ordered i really enjoyed the dessert Thai fruit in coconut cream ..... Really is yummylious.
Price : mmmmmmmmmm they are pretty darn expensive however the quantity is good.
Love the location ......... You have about 5 different cuisine served in th3 same building

I have been to Benjarong quite a number of times over the last 7 years and had always loved the place. But I visited the restaurant yesterday and honestly it is not that great anymore. Although the staff were really courteous, food was not upto the mark specially the thai curry- the reason I went there. Even the squid we ordered was chewy. I did not expect this kind of food specially when we travel 20km in Bangalore traffice. I went there just for their impeccable taste but was really disappointed. I hope it was a one day thing and their standard has not gone down in terms of food.
Subish Elias
Amazing presentation of food, lot of options for foodies Asian specialities are just amazing. I went there during the Vietnamese food festival. Courteous staff , but a little slow than expected. Parking is an issue. Overall will go again 😊

We ordered for the seafood platter to utilize zomato gold 😉. Fabulous taste and one of the best restaurants serving thai food. The condiments served before the meal were quite fresh. Overall, a treat to the taste buds.

The raw papaya salad
The grilled fish
And the waterchessnut for the desserts
These dish’s are a must try at this place
It lives up to the cousins it serves
Will define recommend
A to do restaurant in Bangalore

The food is amazing. Quiet place but the food speaks out loud. A really lovely place to have good Thai food. You will also be delighted by the hospitality of the staff there.

I literally live 50-60m away from this place. It was my go-to place to satisfy thai cravings almost thrice a month.

The food was delicious, and the ambience - impeccable.

Went here recently, after about 3 years.

Though the food is the same in terms of taste, it's hard to pay this steep a price.

Reason - competition offers similar if not better quality thai food at much more reasonable prices.
Also, the ambience - hugely in need of renovation/refurbishment.

However, still continue to go here to relish their consistency in taste.

You don’t get a lot of places serving you Thai food better for the money spent than this place. The quality has steadily improved over the years. You can always go and splurge on fine dining or luxury options but then this is your everyday go to Thai joint.
I was there with my wife and we tried the below dishes:

Tod Prik Tai On (Potato) - literally means deep fried potato with peppercorns
- recommended
Pahd Kee mao Woonsen (Talay-Seafood) - (“Pahd Kee mao”)spicy drunken (“Woonsen”) glass noodles with Seafood
- recommended if you have not tried glass noodles before but this can be a bit overwhelming for rice lovers who are not so much into noodles. You can try rice options instead.
Pla Nung Manow - translates to Steamed fish with Lime sauce or dressing
- can give a pass
Pahd Namprik Pao (Talay) - Fried Thai chilli with prawns (Talay which is seafood)
- recommended
Khao niew ma muang - (“Khao Niew”) Sticky rice with Mamuang or Mango Benjarong
- definitely recommended

The ambience and cleanliness of this place has scope for improvement if you compare it with similar sized restaurants but the overall experience will leave you happy. That’s what we go out for isn’t it - we want to feel happy at the end of it all!!

Ambience - 3.5/5
Quality - 4/5
Taste - 4/5
Value for Money - 4.5/5
Overall - 4/5
Hygiene- Good with scope for improvement

A good place for a foodie.
Positives
1. The food is just too good
2. The service is good
3. Presentation of food is also nice
Negatives
1. The lift to the restaurant can be improved
2. The place is a bit cramped up.
3. The food is a bit expensive if u compare to other restaurants.

Something went wrong today. I remember Benjarong to be rated as one of the best for Thai food (in the Times Food rating days). Sadly I was not too impressed today.
The soup was fine - coconut based and the way it is in Bangkok. The mocktails were a let down - none of them had that zing. Of the starters the satay was the best, both the crispy lamb and the raw mango were a let down. And finally the Pad Thai was overly sweet - and none of us enjoyed it. Must say the seafood red curry and the chicken green curry were both equally good. We had some good desserts too - mainly coconut and pumpkin custard with icecream and the water chestnut coconut milk.
Overall as you can see (from the above) we had our good dishes and our okay dishes. But I wish there were at least a couple of outstanding dishes I could rave about.

Been here twice. Once to have sticky rice and mango and another time to have Thai curry. Have been really disappointed both times. The Thai yellow curry wasn't great. And sticky rice and mango had coconut milk instead of coconut cream in the rice. Maybe it was coconut cream but it tastes like coconut milk. Actually visited it both times because I saw the extremely high reviews.

We went for dinner on a Sunday evening and it was moderately occupied. This has always been our haunt for good Thai food.

My experience: We had the Tom yum soup, which was deliciously flavoured and spicy. For the main course, we had the Chicken Yellow Thai curry and plain steamed rice. Again, a winner in terms of getting the Thai touch. Ended with a dessert Tub tim grob (yummy water chestnuts in sweet coconut milk). All in all, a satisfying experience.

What stands out for me here is the Miang Kham appetiser they offer complimentary in the beginning of the meal. Miang kham consists of lettuce/spinach leaves with jaggery sauce and chopped ingredients like ginger, onions, lime, shallots, chilis, peanuts and coconut shavings.

In terms of the service, everyone is always pleasant and accomodating. If you are looking for good Thai food, this is a good place to go.

We went for lunch on a Saturday and it was surprisingly pretty empty. For appetizers we ordered Gai Hor Baitaey (marinated chicken morsels wrapped in pandanus leaves, their signature dish) and Pla yang (grilled basa). Both were really really good, especially the chicken was very unique in flavour. For main course, we had chicken thai green curry and Pahd benjarong (chicken in rich creamy oyster sauce, another signature dish), jasmine rice and glass noodles. The green thai curry was quite spicy which we liked while the chicken oyster sauce was on the sweeter side. The jasmine rice went well with thai green curry as suggested by them, though there was no distinct jasmine flavour from the rice. This was my first experience with glass noodles and it was a good one. The only thing that could have been better was the whiskey sours we ordered.

What I liked the most was their hospitality and attention to guests. The prices may seem to be slightly higher but I'd say worth it. Hope to go back and try more options at Benjarong.
We really enjoy the food here specially grilled Jumbo tiger prawn wrapped in banana leaves, steamed fish in lemon coriander sauce and the dessert; water chestnut in coconut milk. Faizal give us a great service and make our evening a special one.

We visited here on the recommendation of a friend. And we were very happy that we heeded to the recommendation.

There was a Vietnamese festival going on during our visit. So they had a separate menu for that as well.

Unlike other South Asian restaurants, they have a good number of choices for vegetarians as well.

We decided to order from both the menus. I really don't remember which dish was from which menu but it was a lunch worth remembering.

We ordered seaweed and lotus seed soup, Tofu satay, phak vollappa which was their signature dish and a Vietnamese rice dish whose name I don't remember.

The soup was simple and tasty and had natural flavors of sea weed.

Tofu satay was yummy and so was the accompanying sauce.

Phak vollappa was a fiery dish and delicious. It went well with the rice dish we had ordered.

The Vietnamese rice dish was good as well.

The staff were polite and helpful. Service was quick.

Veggie rating - 4.5

The ambience is serene with a far eastern theme. Food is delicious . I visited this place with my family . The complementary starter is definitely a welcome treat. We ordered a soup, a starter, a main course and rounded off with a dessert. It was a lovely evening which was sweetened a little more with the Zomato gold offer. Would love to visit this place again. Good service and Great food. The staff can be made more knowledgeable about the cuisine and can make the conversation a little more interesting and can add value to the experience.

I have been hearing mixed reviews about Benjarong but am glad I finally made it there myself! The food was absolutely delicious and on point. As a vegetarian, we ordered papaya salad, flat noodles with chilli paste, and Bok Choy greens with yellow bean sauce. Although we had over eaten it was hard to resist ordering the custard with coconut tender ice cream (which I have been craving recently) - which was a great way to end our meal. Would totally recommend a dining experience here!

Benjarong's glass noodles is delicious. The right flavor and the crunch of vegetables in it. Really yummy.
The staff are very sweet and helpful.
Valet parking is appreciated.
The ambience feels very Thai.

The one thing that could improve at benjarong's is their ambient lighting. Now, it's really dark for the eye to realize the details of the food one is having.

Tub Tim krob....
Water chestnut rubies in cold coconut milk.
Tasting water chestnut rubies for the first time. With cold coconut milk it goes yummy yummy. Loved it.
I wouldn't recommend this place even to my enemies. I don't mind bad food but what's unacceptable is when people cheat you. We had gone to have a nice family lunch and told our server - Venkat - upfront that we are Zomato Gold members and would like to order accordingly. First, we ordered soup, which he completely forgot to serve and started serving main course. Then, we wanted to order a Fish dish and he asked us our choice of Fish. We went with Snapper instead of Basa. Finally, when we got the bill, he charged us for the Fish and told us that it wasn't part of the Zomato Gold deal. This, after us specifying that we were only ordering what is included in the offer. When confronted, he said that he didn't have time to explain the offer details! Lastly, the 2 desserts we ordered were so sweet that we couldn't have more than a spoon each. As I said, bad food I can handle, cheating is unacceptable.

A charm lost. I had been to Benjarong in 2012 and was moved by the interior and service. The food used to be really awesome and they used to recommend food based on taste buds.
But now, it’s a simple restaurant serving Thai food. I ordered a sea food glass noodles and man I had to search for sea food in the noodles. Not very tasty too. The person serving food is not aware of the ingredients when asked. Interiors were plain.
In all I felt a great place lost.
Sreenath Rajagopal
Had been to this place for dinner and loved the ambience of the place as well as the service. The food was really good and it is a go to place for people who love spice in their food.

Went by the overall rating on Zomato for this place.

Valet was available. Basic simple interiors. Didn’t have too many tables occupied.

Service is good and even the staff is polite.

Alcohol is very limited as the menu gives a huge list, but only 10% from the menu is available. That’s a disappointment.

Starters and main course was tasty and the portion is big.

Good decent place to eat.
Lohith
We visited Benjarong on a weekday for lunch. We had the steamed rice with Thai green Chicken curry. For dessert, we had the roasted water chestnuts and pumpkin custard with tender coconut ice cream.
Presentation was nil but the taste more than made up for it. I would definitely recommend the food. Service was good and we were attended to quite well.

Perfect end to a Sunday evening ! Authentic Thai cuisine and couldn’t ask for more. I’ve been to their branch even in Chennai and have been a great fan since then. For Thai food lovers, this place is a must visit.. service is very cordial and the ambience just makes it even more classy!

Visited Benjarong for dinner last weekend. In my opinion, it's one of the best Asian restaurants in he city. We tried the Grilled Seafood platter, Thai Duck, Squid with beans in Chilly Paste, some Tenderloin dish as well as a Thai green curry with prawns. All the dishes were simply sensational!

The ambience is nice, mostly family crowd - only point of contention being they were a little confused with the Zomato gold discounts. They discounted the drinks instead of a 1+1 on food.

Been meaning to go to this place since a while due to the high ratings and finally did, just to come out disappointed.

First the good:

1) Courteous staff.

2) Alcohol --- extremely reasonable in pricing

3) The initial complimentary starter that they serve --- lettuce and a some fillings

The bad:

Everything else.

The food was just average -- we ordered the papaya salad (pretty much only papaya in there with some grated peanuts.

Then a broccoli starter (over fried, hard and sweet), thai curry (very average) and jasmine rice.

The price you pay for this is not worth at all. It is just some good music in a room with tables. 500-600 for an entree does not feel like a good value for money for such average food.
Arif Abedin
Excellent as usual - awesome food & service. Consistent experience over a period of 8-10 years. Keep up the great work.
Portions can be a bit more generous though

The food was just about OK. The salad was a disappointment. But after giving the manager the feedback , they managed to do a good job of the mains. Was overall satisfied.
Late night thai cravings but unfortunately not done right.
We ordered
Thai chicken spring rolls : okayish
Prawn thai fried rice : it was basically chinese
Thai green curry chicken : the only one dish that tasted thai and was actually good.
Overall good food, but was definitely not thai!
Gaurav Jaiswal
The place is just amazing!
The squids, mushrooms fry and chicken satte are my favorite dishes at this restaurant.
Service is always very attentive.

I will keep it simple!

It’s six out of five (6/5)

Amazing taste and amazing place!
Courteous staff, nice decor...all you can appreciate all this, since the food served is yummy!

They give a complementary starter which is amazing, lettuce leaf with few condiments. We shamelessly asked for more lettuce and they gave it to us smilingly.

Whatever we ordered was yummy!

Must must go! Prices are a bit steep, thanks to Zomato Gold 😊

Benjarong is not fine dine. The food and ambience are both poor. Food lacks authenticity. It is ill prepared, Ill presented and tastes ingenuine. Chicken satay was an overdose of lemon grass. Main courses were made from garlic, lemongrass and chillies. Decor is pretty bad. ACs leaking buckets of water, 6 Buddha on the walls. One eagleman on another wall. I think I would have spared them this negativity if the food was ok. But the food is really really bad...look at the pictures and let me know if it looks appetizing. Depressing experience.

Very Good Thai Food.Service is fast with delicious variety of Thai food option..Thought price is little high but worth a try.Overall Experience is 4 star.

This is okay okay food. I had come here long back and then the food was awesome...now it's just like any other restaurant. We ordered grilled chicken which was overcooked. The fried rice was just plain Indian style friend rice and was okay and nothing to write about. The worst was the crab meat dish we ordered...it was pungent and smelled really bad. We left almost all of it. The good part was the welcome dish and the pandan leaf wrapped chicken. (Posted pics of that)I think the quality standards have come down...not coming back here again!

The tom yum tasted like tomato rasam

To me, Benjarong is a place I can count on for good food and great service every time. Needed a quick lunch option this afternoon and ended up here for some green curry & rice, which was delightful as always. Also tried their mango and sticky rice as part of their special mango menu. I have to say that I’ve had better versions of that elsewhere, but all in all, my expectations were met 🙂

Lovely service. The waiters were courteous and well informed.
Loved the complimentary appetizer.
We ordered (veg only):
Mushroom starter - finger licking good. Sufficient quantity for two in the small size plate itself
Signature pahd Thai phak - quantity could have been more for the cost. But it was delicious. Perfect mix of spices, and veggies.
The food is amazing and authentic. The papaya salad so much better than the mango salad. Must visit. It's a nice quiet space to enjoy your food and a nice cold beer.

20th may 2018 dinner
Delicious food
Polite waiters
Worst manager a very slow a**
If management takes decision of replacing him. They won't lose customers. Seams he joined just 4 months back. I don't want to visit one more time till he is there....

So nice place. The food is always up to mark and the servers don't mind to stay a little longer if you don't want to leave exactly at closing time... a must for everyone staying at Central Bangalore

Authentic thai taste.. Every food has their particular flavour. We ordered grilled duck and chicken wrapped in pandan leaves dish name is gai hor baetiey both of the dish is authentic. The complimentary is interesting. We ordered one dessert it was coconut and pumpkin pudding average taste nothing great.

Overall nice experience. Will visit soon again. Ambience can be improved lil more.

Anyone looking for a proper Thai food then this is the place..

Benjorang is located near 1MG Road mall just above Entea keralam restaurant. They serve good Thai food. I like the place with good ambience and decent service. The welcome snack was good and fancy. The food is authentic Thai cuisine and I would suggest to try this place. Good experience
Chris Dcosta (Kitofer)
fantastic food.starter was chicken in pandan leaves. ordered the beef tenderloin keoh wan neau and prawn Khao pahd which was a garlic and tomato fried rice both of which were out of this world. and we ended with fried ice cream which was small batter coated coconut coated I've cream balls which was the perfect ending. am giving a 4 only because I think the ambience and setting could be better.
Ulsoor remains one of my favourite areas in Bangalore to get a meal owing to the classiness that every restaurant in the place seems to have. Bengarong and its sister restaurants, since I think all the places within the building are owned by the same management, add to this feeling.

I'd already tried out Ente Keralam to my immense satisfaction, and thought to try it's Asian cuisine counterpart as well. The availability of Zomato Gold was an added bonus. The staff seemed well versed in the process. The ambience is typically Thai infused and gives an extra sense of excitement to the meal.

I had been impressed by their menu even before I actually arrived, and had decided upon my order in advance. The dishes were quite delicious, and they managed to make their vegetarian items good as well.

It can be extremely crowded on the weekends, so be sure to book a table to prevent waiting queues. The place is not too heavy on the pocket, and the Gold certainly does help! Definitely worth a visit for a good meal.
The food at Benjarong never disappoints. Just go for the green Thai curry and rice. The bar menu is a tad restricted though and the service may not be the smartest; I go for just the food.

Food is good but by no stretch of imagination can it categorized as authentic thai

Expect a good meal but don’t go in with expectations of authentic thai food

However if one has not experienced authentic thai food in south east asia, it will be a different experience and a culinary treat

Pathetic would be too nice a word to describe our experience of Sunday night dinner at this place..We should have got inkling of things to come by the strong insect repellent odor when we entered the exclusive dinning place!!....what we got in lieu of 'THAI' food was broccoli manchurian, badly microwaved blackishbrown briyani, green peas in mock tail drink, Chinese crispy pumpkin, very sweet pad thai..and few more cheap roadside knockoff of Asian food...for all this the excuse we get is the main chef has taken day off and the kitchen staff are running lean and even they feel the food served is not their restaurant quality... We wasted 3 hrs commute in Sunday evening bangalore traffic to celebrate and enjoy thai food given the experience we had with benjarong in chennai. We paid close to 5k for one of this kind bad experience. Can't believe restaurants of this quality can do this to customers..absolutely sad. Lesson learnt before making reservation please check if the main chef is available to cook to avoid disappointment!!!!!

Came here years ago and really enjoyed the food, but after having been to a few other Thai places I dunno man, it just didn't do it today. We ordered the seafood platter, the pad Thai (veg), Green Curry and the Garlic Fried Rice. Asked for chili sauce hoping to get Prik Nam Pla (the usual flavor chillies that give Thai food their signature style) and instead got some sambal style chilli sauce. They even gave ketchup (I know this is India but the ketchup on Asian food please stop). The green curry tasted more Indian than thai, maybe more cream and less coconut milk used?

The service was also quite slow, although the waitstaff was really friendly. Also - the menu is VERY confusing to read. Like, if 9/10 dishes are a stirfry meat with a special sauce, maybe just show us pictures so we don't order dishes that are really similar? I honestly think if you just throw some pictures on your menu you will see a huge increase in order quantity/variety. Most Indians going out for Asian will order the same 3/4 types of things, and you'll get to really shine if you show us the variety of what you have to offer.

Lastly - on your condiments for chilli stuff, please do what other thai places do and have dried red chillies, the standard jalapeno chillie type stuff in water/vinegar, and the fish chilli sauce yea?

Food 1/5
Service 2.5/5
Friendliness 4/5

Came here for team lunch. I won't suggest it at all.
We ordered set menu, but they brought really small quantity. Served like one or two spoon of rice. Like for 7 people they brought one small bowl of lamb curry.
When asked for more one waiter said the quantity is fixed and one told us to wait.
Worst of all there was fly in steamed rice!!!
We were here for lunch on a Friday. It's located on the same building that has Teppan, French Loaf and Ente Keralam. The interiors of this restaurant are nice and soft music is always which will set your mood for the Thai culinary experience. The waiting staff is very courteous and has good knowledge of about the food items there. They'll give you good suggestions on what to order based on your preferences. This was my first time trying out Thai food, I loved all the items we had ordered. The quality as well as the quantity of the items are impressive. Our orders were limited to veg, chicken and fish. Surprisingly, the veg items were as good as the nonveg ones! With the kind of service and ambience they have, it's a very good place if you are looking to have a quite peaceful dinner or lunch.

A bliss for the thai food lovers. The place is serene and the food is amazing. They have good variety of both veg and non veg food. I loved the red thai curry with stir fry veggies and mushroom salad. Highly recommended.

We went to Benjarong today after a couple of years, and really looked forward to the meal as we had great memories of the place. Unfortunately, nothing worked tonight - the ambience, service and particularly the food, all combined to make it an unforgettable experience, for all the wrong reasons.

We ordered 2 soups, 2 starters and 4 dishes in the main course (including rice and noodles), and I'm sorry to say that not one of these was enjoyable. I hate wasting food and am pretty sure that the amount we left uneaten was more than what I'd left in perhaps my last 6 (cumulative) restaurant meals.

Needless to say, we won't be heading this route again in the foreseeable future. It's sad really, because Benjarong used to always be associated with a tango of flavours, intense and delicate, and not the 'Shanti / Sukh Sagar' level Thai which we experienced tonight.

Visited Benjarong on 180218 as part of the Dineout Great Indian Restaurant Festival

Super service. Loved the fact that if a server did know about an offer in detail he got someone who knew. Good job team Benjarong

The Thai cuisine was amazing

Gorged on fish, prawns, squids and the jewel of the night - Lobsters. The seafood was fresh and very flavoursome

One of the best seafood eating experiences ❤️

We started for Ente Keralam for lunch but ended up in Benjarong which is a Thai Restaurant in the same building and belongs to the same Oriental Group. The food was indeed different and the experience was good. We tried the following dishes

.Tod Gratiem prik pon - We opted for tenderloin. Came out really crispy and delicious
.Tod prik tai on - We opted for Lamb. Was really delicious
.Mixed Glass Noodles - Transparent noodles. We asked for mixed seafood. Came out really good. And the mixed seafood pieces also was of good quality.
.Thai Iced Tea (2 qty) - Didnt come out that great. It's made out of condensed milk. Hope they'll do it better next time.
.Sweet Lime Soda

Quality of Food - 5/5
Flavor - 5/5
Quantity - 3.5/5
Price - 3.5/5 (2000+/-)
Ambiance - 3/5
Service - 5/5 (Staff was really polite and they took enough time in explaining the dishes to customize for us)

Bookmark this Thai food option for your cravings. The chicken wrapped in Pandong leaf is a hotseller and agreeably so. Lava grill duck was intriguing, personally, as this is the preparation was unlike any I have had for duck previously. Sticky rice with coconut pumpkin custard is delightful and if you visit them during summer you may be lucky to try the mango version of the same. Soft spoken staff and soothing music.

A lovely slice of Thailand in the heart of Bangalore!
The gai hor baitey is a must for meat eaters. Just delicious! As for mains, I can’t really pick a dish because they are all quite good in their own way. Full of authentic Thai flavours!
Their sankhaya fakhthong is also a must have if you’re hankering for something sweet to finish off with.
Oh and the complimentary salad at the beginning was pretty good too! I generally give those a miss, but I couldn’t resist this’
Another definite plus is that they do serve food in smaller portions, which means a couple can order for two different mains to go with their rather impressive selection of rice and noodles.
Their mock tails are a bit too sweet though. My advise would be to ask the staff to hold the sugar.

Oh I suppose I should mention the vegetarian part of the menu…
Well, wifey enjoyed her food too!

So whether you’re vegetarian or normal, and you like Thai or want to try authentic Thai, this is the place to go to!

I haven't had more authentic Thai in Bangalore other than this place. I think this statement is good enough to state how good this place. Slightly heavy in pockets but worth the money.

Pandhas chkn and roasted corn is simply amazing.
Iced coffee tastes amazing.

Surely one of the best places to try authentic Thai food. It has beautiful decor and the staff is ever smiling and courteous. We were greeted with miang kham,a popular thai snack comprising lettuce leaves served in a tray with bowls filled with nuts, ginger and other items. We then had goong pao prawns in starters which had jumbo prawns wrapped in banana leaves. Absolutely brilliant. The siam sparkle mocktail is also a must try here. In the main course we had jasmine rice with chicken massaman curry which was so good. The best massaman curry till date! In the desserts we had tim tob grub which had water chestnut rubies served in chilled coconut milk. A very memorable experience indeed and would highly recommend.

The best Tom Kha soup in Bengaluru!
Though I did not like the Gai Hor Baitaey (starter) much.

In case you have a sweet tooth ,you must try Tub Tim Grob without giving a second thought.

Benjarong, the name itself specifies that it is not an Indian restaurant. This restaurant is more and more of Thai, than the pan asian restaurant

Having worked in Thailand and visited frequently a decade back, wanted to rejunuvate my taste buds to thai food, visited there for lunch and the place is easily accessible, from the main road, the entire building is full of restaurants

Being at the corner of the road, parking could be an issue, but they offer valet parking, which is good

With simple and traditional Thai interiors, the place welcomes and it is nice place for a business meet or discussion

We were served with welcome snacks, which had groundnut, onion, ginger, roasted coconut, lemon, tomato & cabbage leaf and we were explained on how to mix and eat with sauce. Let me tell you, like pan, it has mix of taste, makes it different from the one which we normally taste in Indian restaurants

Baby corn fry : - let me tell you if you look at the dish, it doesn’t look like the baby corn. First time i am eating this form of Baby corn, definitely the one you wanted to try

Spicy Veg and Prawn Fried Rice : - Nice cooked and the rice is similar to ambur biryani rice. Mixed with nicely chopped vegetables, it tastes like partly veg biryani and Veg Fried rice

Food : 4.5 /5

Interiors : 4 / 5

Staff : 5/5

Most authentic Thai food in Bangalore. Loved their Lunch set menu which had 3 starters, soup, rice, noodles, curries & the yummy chestnut desert.

Horrible experience, food was good, but service was absolutely horrible. we were 6 people and unaware of the quantity of the dishes. Half of us were served with the rice and the other with the curry, and so, half of us spent 30 mins waiting for the rice, and other half for the curry. Food was very good, but it ruined the entire experience of my birthday dinner .

Good food with great hospitality. Staffs are very polite and are ever ready to help while taking food order. The decor is very soothing too.
will be visiting soon with friends and family for sure and will try other delicacies.

I have been to this place couple of times few years back as my mother is fond of Thai cuisine and she loved the food here. But then she had a bad experience this one time and we never went again since. However last night we were around this area and my wife being a Thai lover herself, chose this place to dine in. Since she hadn’t been here before, I thought it’s definitely worth another visit. (she’s from Hyderabad and we’re newly married :P)
Enough of foreplay, let’s get straight to action.
While we were waiting for our lemongrass soup (1st in the soup section), we were offered with the salad platter to munch while we waited. And I tell you, it was the healthiest and tastiest complimentary starters I’ve ever had. Somehow I’d completely forgotten they used to serve that. It even beats the bread basket of Italian restaurants like Chianti and definitely beats the Papad (roasted or fried) of most restaurants.
As you may have guessed by now, they already had me. After that the soup, the Pad Thai Broccoli and the rice, they all complimented the quality and taste of the complimentary starter.
Although everything we ordered was quite spicy, the hospitality and service of our very sweet servers struck quite a good balance.
My only misgiving with this place was the ambience. The walls were desperately screaming for a renovation! I hope they do it soon because unfortunately, most of us nowadays do judge the book by its cover.

This place is incredible! I cannot get enough of the glass noodles and the jungle fried rice (It is so good that sometimes I have vivid dreams of it!). The staff is spot-on with recommending dishes and portions for groups of people. I also love going here because I know that I will be served quickly - their service is prompt and the staff is extremely courteous.
