Review Raghavendra Stores - Bengaluru

Manjunath R
One of the finest and oldest eateries located in Malleshwaram. Just next to Malleshwaram railway station. Food served here is a traditional South Indian breakfast- Idly Vada, ShavigeBaath, Goli Baje, Upma Kesari Baath and other dishes. Idly Vada and Goli Baje are good and affordable. This place is always crowded. This store has another unit just opposite, where they serve Dosa's. No seating available, parking could be an issue.

Came here around 8:45 am and tried their rice bath which was tomato rice for the day. Place is not any huge restaurant or something, just a small stall like place outside Malleshwaram railway station. Lots of crowd early in the morning. Peopl are mostly buying their idli vada. Rice bath for INR 35 was amazing. Maybe ambience around the place can be improved a bit.

After hearing all the hype about this place, we visited on a weekend morning around 10 and was surprised to see a crowd in front of this tiny eatery! We didn't order much looking at the crowd and tried to order only ready to eat dishes, somehow managed to get our food quickly and both the dishes were tasty! Shavige bath - not as tasty as expected but good! Pulav - this was tasty, though lacked vegetables in it and I feel they should add more of it. Not worth travelling from a distant place just to eat here but if you're in malleshwaram for some work, one can definitely try!

Idli vada was good but they dont serve sambar n other chutneys. Only one chutney but was good. Good food with good mood. Worth the waiting in queue. Price are normal n affordable. Must try shavige bath which is the semolina fry with veggies luved it.

Our very own Raghavendra Stores. This place takes me back to my childhood. I remember when I was kid my dad used to take me here for breakfast whenever we used to go to book tickets at Malleswara Railway Station. Have been visiting here even before the "Insta Influencers" took over. Even though the taste has changed along with the time but is still better than many other so called best Idli serving restaurants. The chutney was spicy and tasty and the idli was soft, Shavige bhath was average but the chutney complimented it very well. One has to take a token first to eat. Both cash as well as UPI are accepted. A takeaway option is available. You can park your four wheeler at railway station premises and two wheelers can be parked beside the shop.

This is one of the oldest eateries in Malleshwaram just outside Malleshwaram railway station serving delicious south Indian breakfast. This store is always crowded and worth the wait as the food is amazingly good and very affordable. Idly n uddin vada is a hit. Do try chow chow bhath, khara bhath... Khara bhath (Uppittu) just melts in ur mouth and tastes so good ... just disappears. The cashier n staff were warm and welcoming.. And also found that after lunch hours this eatery turns into chinese serving noodles and fried rice etc !! Note: No seating available, parking not available

A quaint place in the lanes of malleshwaram right outside the railway station. The vada, idly(amazingly soft) and shivage bhat were good. Maddur vada was quite crispy and the chutney was simply amazing. Dosa were good but one can find better dosas in Bangalore

Old Original iconic Bangalore eateries . (Sri Raghavendra Stores) located Near Malleshwaram Railway Station. One of the famous hotel . Taste is good & Awesome. Expect heavy crowds but serving is fast hence not a worry.Highlight is the chutney, crispy piping hot vada and idlis. Shavige bath, Kesari bath and bath rice are other must try items here.price as long reasonable . We just have to park the vehicles near the road so it's better to come with 2 wheeler vehicles .

It was really an amazing visit to Raghavendra stores. Went early in the morning to savour their famous Idli Vada with Chutney, Shavige Bath and Khara Bath. Every item we tasted was of the next level. The taste, smoothness of the idlis, the crunch of the Vada and so on was really amazing.
Sreesha Ranganath
Tried the open benne masala dosé It was loaded with spices, perfect amount of crunchiness and soft on the inside Mushy and flavourful aalo palya was extremely good The chutney was great but i prefered the spicy sambar to it butter was like the cherry on top lol It's exactly opposite to the iconic raghavendra stores where you get amazing idlis One masala dosé after a plate of single idli vade = the perfect weekend breakfast

Sri Raghavendra Stores is located in Malleswaram just beside the railway station. The outlet is just on the side of a road. There is no table to stand and eat. And there is no seating arrangement as well. It tends to get very crowded during the day. We tried the Idly Vada which came with chutney. The chutney wasnt very spicy and went well with the Idly. The Vada was very crispy. Next we had the Khara Bath, it was spicy and tasted good. The Shavige Bath was great in taste. The tea was decent. Overall a great breakfast experience at this iconic joint.

The Idli Vada is a must try. The vadas are crispy and chutney is spicy and excellent. You can try other dishes such as bisi bele bath and khara bath as well.

When it comes to Malleshwaram, you have to visit this iconic place. It serves hot idli, shavige bath, chow chow bath. Crispy Vada and crispy masale dose were great. They have opened new outlet just in front of the old one. Economical price.

Sri Raghavendra stores is running from past two decades still it has same taste n same quality maintaining, the place is small but can service faster. The Chutney was good serves in small bowl watery chutney is really tasty. The vada/ idly , vada / savagi bath really perfect combination to have good breakfast in the morning times, prices are pocket friendly, totally worth it...<br/><br/>Taste : 4.5/5<br/>Value for money:5/5

Worth the money.., mouth watering breakfast & snacks for affordable prices just in love with this place😋 shavige bath with Vada & chutney 🤤
Malavika B Swamy
My all time favourite place in Malleswaram. Trust me they serve the best idli vada in the town. Please ask them specifically for gatti chutney and you can thank me later, IT IS THE BEST! 😍 <br/>They also serve dosas, khara bath, kesafi bath, shavige bath, rice bath. I also like their filter coffee. 🤤<br/>It’s a must visit place when in Malleswaram.
Varna Prakash
A really small place serving South Indian breakfast since years. The idly is super soft and the vada is crispy. The chutney makes the taste so delicious. A must try if you love South Indian food.
Rohit Jain
Its 1 one the best tiffin cantre for hot idli n crispy vada with tasty chutney ..<br/>please add them in online order delivery ...<br/>

Sri Raghavendra Stores 🍱<br/><br/>Another legendary outlet just outside the Malleshwaram Railway Station which is well known for idli vada, chow chow bath in that locality from decades. Wanted to try Idli Vada there but idli was over by the time I went there. Both Kharabath & Kesaribath were decent in taste but nothing like must try, vada was out of my judgement as it was closing time and vada was cold. May be on my next visit for breakfast, I could really get a picture of how it is. <br/><br/>Tiny place, no seating, no has to place the order, service themselves and eat next to the stores watching the railway station and train a times 😬<br/><br/>Follow us on Instagram for more food updates

Ok experience for the hype created.

This place is located beside of malleshwaram railway station. Hotel is hygeine and food is very tasty

Reached here early morning for breakfast. There was a long line as expected. However, the taste was worth the wait. The wada is crispy, Idli was soft and fluffy and the Saviage bath is delicious. The highlight was the Kesari Bath, which was served hot and loaded with Ghee. Masala Dosa was average. The best thing about this place is that it's located just outside the Malleshwaram Railway Station. You could take a cup of Coffee and Enjoy the sights of the famed "Malgudi Railway Station"..<br/><br/>Overall Rating - 4/5

Was here a couple of days back in the morning with some friends for breakfast we came from indiranagar to this place only because seeing the reviews in Google and the reviews are so good and only because of this much hype we visited. After reaching restaurant there was a decent croud was there and we have ordered a plate of Idli vada, shavige bath and coffee. After getting our order we started tasting it the Idli vada was not good at all you will get better idli's in any roadside shops it was not good at all. And even the shavige bath also not good they use so much of oil I guess it was full oily and we didn't eat properly. And finally the coffee after tasting I get to know they use bru instant coffee 😂 overall this place is not good and simply it's getting hyped with the locals I don't think why people will make this hyped up simply 🙃

Sri Raghavendra Stores is located in 11th main road, Malleshwaram next to Malleshwaram Railway station and opposite to Manipal hospital. Most of the times it is crowded with breakfast & coffee lovers.<br/><br/>Sri Raghavendra Stores is a small restaurant and there is no seating arrangements available. One can stand nearby to the store and consume food. There is no dedicated parking facility, Cleanliness is maintained at this restaurant. Most of the times elders can be seen at this place and in weekend young crowd from different places will visit to have a Crispy Vada and Soft Idli with Chutney.<br/><br/>Sri Raghavendra Stores have options of food items like Idly Vada, Chow Chow Bath, Kharbath, Shavinge Bath, Kesari Bath and Coffee/Tea option.<br/><br/>I have tried Idly Vada - Very soft idly and crispy vada with a yummy spicy chutney, Shavige bath - spicy with a cashew combination is a mouth watering to have it, Kesari Bath - it is very tastier but little bit oily in it.<br/><br/>Best options to have breakfast items in the morning and evening time over here and most of the items are less priced and worth trying over here at this restaurant. Overall it is a best place for quick bites.<br/><br/>Overall, <br/><br/>Food- 4.5/5 <br/>Ambience- 2/5<br/>Service - 4/5<br/>Value for money - 4.5/5<br/>Overall Rating - 5/5<br/><br/>Note: For Parcel, always try to carry vessels and avoid plastic.<br/><br/>"Be a part of the solution, not a part of the pollution"

This place is perfect to enjoy an authentic South Indian breakfast, situated near the railway station (it's quite difficult to spot the small store but the crowd will make it easy for you). The taste is really good, portions are filling, really worth the price and opens quite early also. Amidst the crowd, the service is quick. I love the Shavige Bath here, almost everything tastes good!!!

Chutney not to be spilled over in plate or the plates to be bigger in size a bit can help

I had been here for the breakfast, it was easy to located using google map. It comes behind the Malleshwaram railways station. I could see a long queue when we reached there. It’s a small outlet serving limited items. We ordered idli vada and chow chow bath. The lady at the counter was not welcoming, that could be beaches it’s always crowded. The process is simple, pay at the counter and get the bill, give the bill at the next counter and get your food. The chutney is served outside separately. On the hygiene front I didn’t find it that good . <br/><br/>The idli was soft, the vada was crispy and the chutney was good .<br/>The Kara bath was normal and didn’t find anything extra ordinary.<br/>The kesari bath was good . <br/><br/>Overall it’s a good place for the breakfast <br/>I would rate it 3.75/5

We head to Sankey tank for a morning walk and Malleshwaram is never short of beautiful breakfast eateries. Because it was a Sunday morning, we knew CTR and Veena stores are going to be super crowded so we decided to head to this place which is right behind the Malleswaram railway station and it’s a very small shop. They just a few items like any other rustic breakfast places.<br/><br/>There is a separate place to fill up the chutney which seems like a good idea. The Idli Vada was great like I expected based on the ratings and chutney was pretty amazing too except for the fact that it was super spicy .The best part of this place is that its value for money with pretty reasonable rates and there’s enough parking spaces. I’ll definitely recommend a visit if you are somewhere near Malleshwaram.

What can be more than having breakfast here.<br/>Yes this place is something that you feel like you own it. People who comes here for breakfast takes their meal and sits just opposite to the store where there are steps to sit or they just stand by roadside enjoying their breakfast and chatting with friends or some sits beside the shop. This place looks like it has attached to the railway station as it is located in that place.<br/><br/>Apart from that they serve delicious breakfast. My BV favourite here is the shavige bath.<br/>Just love it.<br/>

This place serves one of the best authentic Karnataka Breakfast. Very Famous amongst north local foodies<br/><br/>It servers on the the best breakfast in North Bangalore. Been having in this place since my childhood.<br/><br/>Thier idli Vada , shavige bath khara bath and Kesaribath is too good and they serve only chutney. No Sambar.<br/><br/>There is not sitting place. It's is a standing one. But quite spacious. If you reach after 9 on weekends lot of crowd will be there.<br/><br/>Their pulav is okay. But to thier price to affordability and taste they deserve 5

Though the place is very small, the food they serve is amazing. I had ordered idli, vada and Kesari bath. All the fooditems were upto the expectations. Perfect place to go have breakfast after a brisk walk on weekends morning.

Wonder what took me so long to try this place, everything we ordered had that classic old school Bangalore touch to it, the Vadas were light and crispy, idlis soft as could be and the Shavige bath was brilliant as well. Places like these are what makes Bangalore probably the best city in India for breakfast.
Prajwal Mb
This place is a definitely a good breakfast spot if you are trying to find out the old Bengaluru's charm.<br/><br/>They served good idly n vada , vermicelli bath, chow chow bath etc.,<br/><br/>This is located just very near Malleswaram railway station.<br/>Eating breakfast here is just a blissful moment, enjoying the empty roads of old Bengaluru very peace n calm.<br/><br/>
Sagar Vikram
It was in my list since long back and got a chance today to taste the dishes. Expected more from this but yeah normal taste just like other hotels.

I have been frequenting this place ever since my foodie wifey introduced me to this amazing food joint. We pay a mandatory visit to this place whenever we are in Bangalore. Their best dishes are Idly Vada, Shavige Bath and Khara Bath. The Idlies soaked in Chutney just melts in your mouth. What I love is their runny spicy green chutney with a strong pudina flavour! And they are very generous when you go for more chutney! We often complete the visit with a strong cup of filter coffee! <br/>It’s a quick bite place so do not expect fancy seating or service! This is one of the Legendary Malleshwaram eats so it’s a must try atleast once when you are around!
Aishwarya Balasubramanyam
The best Darshini that's available in Malleswaram! Idlies just melt in your mouth! Best idlies around the North of bengaluru. Chow chow is the best too. Priced at a minimum! Breakfast would be sorted at 40/-<br/><br/>Also gives a very nostalgic feeling.
Ravikiran
A hole -in-the-wall operation. But what a fan-following! I didn't expect it to be so small. Especially when the address is -Opp. Manipal Hospital !<br/><br/>They do what they do, the best! Piping hot Idlis and Vadas for Breakfast .<br/><br/>I found it strange that they offer no Sambhar. But the loyal clientele was lapping up the menu with the Chutney on offer.<br/><br/>Great Value for Money. And Awesome Taste.<br/>Not being rated for Ambience etc.<br/>A few points of concern on the hygiene front...Not worrisome though ...<br/>
Ankit D
Just in front of the Malleshwaram railway station, we have this store which serves one of the softest, mouthwatering idlis in this area. Sunday attracts a lot of people, so plan accordingly. Taste wise it's extremely good!
Aishwarya Raghavan
A great place for a quick bite.<br/>Fresh masala dosas, idlis and vadas.<br/>Kesari bath at its best for the sweet- toothed.<br/>The search for a parking space can be tiresome on a busy day and hygiene of the place isn't so great. Apart from these 2 things, great place for a South Indian tiffin.
FoodGasm 🤤
Amazing idli vada . Chutney taste is very fresh and amazing. The filter coffee here is a must try too.<br/><br/>Kesari bhaat is very average. <br/><br/>Overall super fresh and soft idlis and crisp vadas.
Deric Sherwin
Really disappointed with the food. I went with high expectations and it was crowded but seriously not even par to my expectations. The worst part was the chutney it was so sad.<br/>Food pricing - Pocket Friendly 4/5<br/>Food quality 2.5/5<br/>Cleanliness 4/5<br/>Service 5/5<br/>Ambience N/A<br/>Its nice to see Malleshwaram Railway station and the trains pass by while eating but really disappointed. <br/>

Place is simply amazing limited menu and man ..!!! The taste is simply awesome the idlis which are soft and the vada crispy and the main show is the chutney which is poured generously over anything what u order ...<br/>Price and taste full marks the place you can't help it as it has been the base for years. .<br/>
Neha
This is an old establishment in Malleshwaram. Been around a while. Often visit this place for breakfast. They serve really hot and soft idlis. Their chutney is great and vadas crisp and fresh. A must visit if you are in malleshwaram
Chetan Nagda
The fluffiest idlis ever & perfect crisp vada dipped with chutney with perfect blend of spicyness paired along with filter coffee is best combination . ❤️❤️ Completely best place for breakfast.
Rashmi Bharadwaj
Very good place for breakfast. The idlies melt in the mouth and the Vades are so crispy. Their Shavigebath is also decent. They serve idly vade with chutney alone and this combination is amazing. The quality of food is good and the shop is hygienic.
Ashwath Ram Rao
Lovely food especially idli vada and coffee. It is just eating on roadside but the food and hygiene is good for anyone to eat there. I wish it was available for home delivery by zomato.

The best place to have authentic South Indian breakfast 😍<br/>Right beside Malleshwaram railway station a small stand and deliver place! My most favorite herr is shavige as it is the best in town and next goes chow chow bath 😁<br/>You find this place a bit crowded most of time. Service is quick, a wide footpath on either sides of the hotel to stand by.<br/><br/>Highly recommend - Shavige bath/ Vermicelli<br/>Chow chow bath<br/>Filter coffee<br/><br/>
Sayantan Datta
Went to this place with a lot of expectation but was not very satisfied with what I got. Most of the items were over by the time I went.I could just have idli and vada and I didn't get that wow type feeling after having it
Maithreyi Gowda
This is a small store infront of Malleshwaram Railway Station which sells the ultimate South Indian breakfast for such cheap price !<br/><br/>Visited this place for breakfast many a times got addicted to the crispiest UDHIN VADA and chutney also IDLIS are very soft KARABATH and KESARIBATH is up to the point and after yummy breakfast a strong SOUTH INDIAN COFFEE is a must at this place . With Shreyas Naidu . ❤️

Once again, I’m blown away a local Karnataka cuisine eatery in Malleshwaram, and the quality food it serves! <br/><br/>Ambiance? A wide footpath outside the Malleshwaram Railway station that affords you some place depending on what time you visit. Service? Courteous and fast. Prices? Low. So now let’s move on to the food! <br/><br/>It was an early evening visit, and I started with the customary Idli Vada. Soft Idlis, a crispy Vada, tasty chutney. I was off to a good start! Then came the Shavige bath. Only a few places get this dish right, and Raghavendra Stores is one of them! It wasn’t sweet like some make it, and despite how it looks, it was rather light on the stomach as well as it wasn’t oily. No thanks to a heavy lunch though, I had to stop with this. Typing this review, I’m already planning my next visit for the Chow-chow Bath, another crispy Vada and a strong filter Coffee. <br/><br/>Raghavendra Stores serves soul food. Enough said!
~Trencher Man~ 😋
It's all time fev for south Indian food!! Best place for morning breakfast!!😋<br/><br/>Idly - Vada<br/>Shavige - Rice bath<br/>Chow chow bath<br/><br/>These are very good at its taste and worthy for the money we paid!!😋<br/><br/>One of the best place for morning breakfast which I had here!!😊<br/><br/>Located at Malleshwaram railway station!! Don't miss this place if you bored by having in Veena Stores!! 😂<br/><br/>Overall 4/5🤗

If you are looking for simple tasty economically quick eats, this is the place. Good portion for the price, 2-Idly 1-Vada will be filling quite filling.
Mahendra Rao
Simple and delicious. Good for a quick bite or a leisure meal. Good place to visit with close friends from childhood. If you are taking old folk there, I suggest you park very close to the place as there are no tables and you have to eat on foot. The perfect rating is because I have a soft spot for such places being an out and out urban kannadiga. The idli vada is a must-try.
Manish Mohata
Deserves 5 star. Location is peaceful just outside malleshwaram railway station. Stand and deliver sort of eatery. Four idly, two vadas and 2 coffee costed only 84rs. Its not only the price but taste is worth a visit. Service is very fast unlike other famous eatery in the area.

Sri Raghavendra Stores, malleswaram is very well known and pretty famous in Bangalore. Close to 25yrs old tiffin center. Timings would be 7am to 11.30am and evening 4pm to 9pm. Holiday on Tuesday. Landmark would be next to Malleswaram Railway station or Manipal North Hospital. Items available : Idli, Vada, avalaki, pulav, kharabath, kesaribath, shavigye bath. If you wanna take parcel, plz carry tiffin boxes. Chutney what they serve over there is watery and tasty. For parcel they give thick or gatti chutney. My personal favorite here I'd idli, shavigye bath and kharabath. Must visit place.
Parag Sezwar
Very small place near malleshwaram railway station.Must visit for morning breakfast Only words from my side is Soft Idly, crispy vada, tasty kesari bath, osum cofee.

It's a very small outlet just next to the malleshwaram railway station. Went here early morning and loved thier soft idlis. They don't serve sambar but u won't miss it also🤣 their Chutney is mind blowing and goes well with thier idlis and vada.

Wonderful food; great quality, served hot. Small outlet right next to Malleshwaram Railway Station. All-day breakfast-cum-tiffin menu. Very inexpensive. Limited menu. Items available on menu are: Idlies, Vadey, Shaavige Bhaat (Vermicelli Upma), Avalakki Bhaat (Karnataka style Poha), Khaara Bhaat (Upma), Kesari Bhaat (Sooji Halwa), plus good filter coffee and tea. Must visit place.

Raghvendra stores right outside of malleshwaram railway station is a iconic place since years for their idlis & savige bathe ! Crowd wait even before the store opens!

Hidden gem in Namma Bengaluru. Malleshwaram is famous for local bangalurean foods. This food joint is opposite of Malleshwaram Railway station.<br/><br/>VFM place in Malleshwaram. Must eat breakfast place if you are foodies who lives in Bangalore<br/><br/>Must try shivage bath from there. Shivage bath is kannada style semiya ( Vermicelli upma). You need to stand and eat from here. I visited there in a weekday morning. Flow of peoples to outlet is very great. They have limited menu. Try idly vada, Kesari bath also.<br/><br/>

Raghavendra Stores is a very popular breakfast place and I had heard of this place from ages. Which breakfast items are good here has been covered by other reviews. What I found surprising is the ‘trust’ factor. You order and eat whatever you want first. No coupons, no pre-payment. There’s a huge crowd milling about in that limited space. So someone can just eat and walk away without paying. While I have seen this no prepayment bit at many of the legendary small eateries, this place was too too crowded and it seemed a bit difficult to make sure everyone has paid. Maybe they just have great memory to match faces and all the items ordered. <br/><br/>This place just outside the railway station is just a goodangadi (like a pan beeda shop) and the crowd is literally 5-6 times the size of the shop. Stand and eat only. You have to balance your plates, so order only what you can hold at one time. The staff is very courteous and service is super fast.<br/><br/>We had idly vada and chow chow bath both were good. Vada was fresh and crispy. It was satisfactory breakfast not outstanding for repeat visits due to distance. It’s a good option if you are in the neighbourhood. I was too full to try the highly recommended Shavige Bath.
Kaushik R Jai
One of the best places to have breakfast.<br/>It is just a small outlet, but the crowd is more than that of big restaurants.<br/>Had idly and kesaribath which tasted really good.<br/>Will visit again and again.

Best place for South Indian breakfast<br/>Hot Idly & Crispy Medu Vada is all time favourite<br/>Khara & Kesari Bath is also good.<br/>Veg Savige Bath is too good<br/>On Sunday's, veg pulao is excellent<br/><br/>Parking issues & space congestion

Quite buzzing store adjacent to malleshwaram railway station..... day or night the crowd is always at heights ..... super good shavige bath , uppittu, idli , vada at very affordable prices .... taste 5/5, ambience 5/5, value for money 5/5, just go in and eat for a refreshing taste
Sri Vatsa
Nice idly vada chutney place. We visited this place in the evening as soon as they opened and we were served piping hot idly vada, shavige bhat and nice coffee. Must visit if you craving for the typical south indian flavours.
Manjunath Raj
One week full menu breakfast review cut short in this.<br/>Constantly idly and Vade , chow chow bath and shavge bath is served along with everyday delicacy rice bath changes so make sure to ask that days special.<br/>I missed bisibele bath and Pongal which was I think on Friday and Saturday .<br/>I liked Kesari bath and shavge bath ( wheat vermicelli) which is must try .<br/>Unsung hero is the chutney which is the trade mark if this place .<br/>And important notice" TUESDAY IS HOLIDAY ".😂
Nir Mal S
Having stayed in malleshwaram all my life, there is no dearth of good places to eat. For a first timer, yes this place might seem to be the best but comparatively raghavendra stores is just another eatery serving South Indian breakfast. The upsides would be the idly, coffee and the kesari bath. The downsides would be the rice bath. It's just the fact that the place enjoys a monopoly in the area since there are no good eats anywhere near by. If you are not easily impressed then there are other big guns in malleshwaram that are far more better.

💁🏻‍♀️Around 40 years old, Sri Raghavendra Stores is a tiny, little gem. Located right outside the Malleswaram railway station, this place is legendary for its South Indian eats. <br/><br/>✅Famous for its Fluffy Idlis and Crunchy Vadas.<br/><br/>✅Open from 6am to noon and then again post 4pm, the shop does brisk business through the hours. <br/><br/>✅Don’t go expecting an ambience. You pay for your food at the counter and then gobble your food on the pavement in front of the shop.<br/><br/>✅I tried Shavige Bath, which is lightly spiced and so filling. Total Paisa Vasool..!!<br/><br/>✅Personal favourite is the Kesari Bath, a bright yellow blob that’s infused with ghee, cashews, raisins, and plenty of sugar. <br/><br/>📝TummyTumms Scoreboard:<br/>Taste: 4/5<br/>Ambience: Road side thadii feels<br/>Service: 4.2/5<br/>Value For Money: 4.5/5

As Malleshwaram is kind off the hub of great breakfast at reasonable price. Raghavendra stores is one of those places which tops the list. It’s a small store with only takeaway available. My favourite is the idli chutney and shavige bath.
Sudhir Kamath
THE place for no-nonsense idli-vade and kaapi. Every visit now brings a sense of nostalgia, but fresh food takes me back.<br/><br/>Idlis are slightly bigger and vades are not that crispy, but sumptuous. How can one forget the chow-chow bath.<br/><br/>Have some great South Indian breakfast and combine with trainspotting, finish with their coffee.<br/><br/>If in Malleswaram, enjoy the food here next to the railway station. Park your car in the station for a fee and relax to have your food.<br/><br/>Great(est) idli vade. #trainspotting<br/>

Raghavendra Stores is among the many popular food joints in Malleswaram. A small shop located adjacent to the Malleswaram Railway station. Their limited but very delicious menu includes idly-vada, khara bath (upma), shavige bath, kesari bath. Sambhar is not served here unlike most darshini hotels, but the spicy and yummy chutney will not make you miss the sambhar. You will find most customers asking - innu swalpa chutney haaki (can I get some more chutney). <br/><br/>Shavige bath with gatti (hard) chutney is a must-try if you happen to visit. The piping hot khara bath with ample chutney is bliss. Coffee, tea and shunti kaapi (ginger coffee) is available as well.  Recently the store has also started serving rice varieties like vegetable pulav, curd rice etc. which are equally tasty. They are closed on Tuesdays. This place is the best for a quick bite, any day and any time of the day!

For this, I really had to walk so long till Malleshwaram railway station. It is a small outlet with delicious and crispy vada and averagely soft idly. Though it's a better and silent place to enjoy the food and coffee.

This is no fancy place to have hifi food but you get some amazing tasty food here. Located very close to Malleshwaram railway station, this place is crowded most of the times.<br/>They have limited items on menu like idli, vada, shavige and some rice items but the taste will definitely excite your taste buds.<br/>We just had idli vada and kesari-bath and was very much stomach filling. Waiting to try more of their menu. Must visit.

Craving for South Indian breakfast? This is one of the best place to have your breakfast. Idli vada is a must try here. The idlis are so soft that they literally melt in your mouth and the chutney served along with it makes you crave to have even more.<br/>The vada is super crispy and tasty.<br/>Chow-chow bath- Perfectly prepared. Kesari bath is not too sweet and loved the way it has been prepared.<br/>This is a legendary place situated near Malleswaram railway station and my dad says they have maintained their consistency of the food .<br/>Ambience-There is no seating arrangements.<br/>⚪Self service.<br/>⚪Food is served quick, hot and fresh.<br/>Parking available.<br/><br/>

Not sure why this is rated so well. The idlis were not very soft and rice was strictly average. Coffee was a sugar syrup. Don't think I'm ever gonna visit this place again given the amount of options available.

This place is located in front of malleswaram railway station. This place does not have seating facilities but the food they serve is amazing which is for sure. I've been coming here regularly from the past 5 or more years. The taste and consistency is quite kept right as off now.<br/>The place is almost crowded at all times and heavily crowded in the weekends. Self service type of a place.<br/>Everything here is a must try only, sooo eating everything is the right way to enjoy here. Don't worry everything is delicious.<br/>Don't forget to have their filter coffee at the end (:<br/><br/>

Fantastic breakfast. This place is so so crowded, and that speaks for the taste. Very humble staff. Idlis are super soft. You will crave for more after your 1st visit

Raghavendra stores is a legendary place in the city of Bangalore. Famous for its breakfast, it is always crowded. Got a chance to visit on a Sunday morning and grabbed the regular breakfast of idly, khara bath, Shavige bath and Vada. The Idly was soft on the outside but hard on the inside, vada was nice and crispy, shavige bath was good not great, khara bath was the best of the lot. Does feel its over-hyped. There is no seating, its a small shop outside the Malleshwaram station, service is quick and pricing decent.

This place is almost like malleshwarm's secret...<br/>Nestled cosily next to malleshwarm train station... This basic hole in the wall cafe churns out the one of bangalores best breakfasts... Like most place it's their chutney which is an absolute show stealer.... start with fluffy idlis.. with vada with lots of chutney... Which they happily refill any number of times... Then go ahead to some shavige bath or chow chow bath... Finish up with coffee... And ur mornings are set... Parking can be a prob especially if it's a car... <br/>Bon Appetit peeps...

A small shop near malleshwaram railway station and another iconic place which has limited menu for a reasonable price!<br/><br/>Ordered kharabath and kesribath. Loved both the items. Usually I don't eat kesribath but this had perfect sweetness to it. Kharabath was mildly spiced and a perfect combo for chutney.<br/><br/>Next time would try their bisibelebath and idli vade for sure. Do not miss this place if you are near by this area.

Dropped down in Bangalore early morning and wanted to have Mysore masala dosa or the benné dosa unfortunately couldn't find one but was lucky enough to find this gem of an outlet, I have never seen such fanfare for a small one like this,<br/><br/>My orders were,<br/>*⃣ Idly - Not the bestest i've had or anything but it was good and the accompanying chutney was good for that early morning ride.<br/>*⃣ Shavigi Bath - Basically a sémmiya kind with less oil and fluffy rice based strands ,again the chutney made the trick<br/>Was already full at this point of time, but wait...<br/>*⃣ Vada - Now that's how a vada should actually be, crispy as faq on the outside and soft in the inside much that i could keep on munching on one by one!<br/><br/>For a Tamil guy like me, eating idly and vada without sambar felt quite unright, but as said the coconut chutney really did held the show upright... close to watery in consistency and having a punch in the chilly giving the spicy oomph made it a true one man show👍👍👍<br/><br/>💲: Easy on the wallet<br/>Ambience: The world is your stage😎<br/>Service: Zip Zap Zoom🙈<br/>Taste: Gooooood😋

Soft n hot idlies, kharabath, kesaribath, n Shavige bath n recently they have come up with rice bath too. A small joint abutting the malleswaram railway station. I have been visiting this joint for almost 12 plus years. Nothing has changed much, except for a few additions in the menu. Self service type hotel. Stand n eat. No such ambience etc (which is not required too considering the taste). Filter coffee after all these delicacies is a must. Pocket friendly hotel. Must try for anyone visiting malleshwaram.
