Review Jalpaan Restaurant - Bengaluru

Vishak N.D
Loved and enjoyed every dish we tried. The chinese bhel was lip smacking and spicy, it is recommendable. Paneer khurchana and kofta was also yummy and attractive. The paan juice given is the signature of jalpaan. The veg shorba taken at the start was very aromatic, tasty and soothing to drink, it was enchanting. I will look forward to visit to try more dishes. 😊🤤

Had good vegetarian food in recent times. Taste of the food was okay but they need to speed up their service. When we visited there were few customers and the service was delay. Starter platter was nice.. Those who prefer vegetarian or jain food it is a good option. We can find different varieties of vegetarian food items…

Visited recently on a weekend with a group of 15 friends. Booked the tables beforehand. Service was very good. Food was also very tasty. Tilli babycorn was delicious. On the whole this place is good for groups visit also. Parking is also not a problem. Valet parking service is also available here.

Pros 1. Jain options 2. Food is prepared fresh and tastes good. 3. All varients of rotis naans and kulchas are excellent. Cons 1. Quantity is too less 2. Pricey considering quantity 3. Lighting is poor and not appealing 4. The newly added items to the menu are not good, like the badam soup.. it had too much salt and was served in a shot glass ...

We had visited this place for lunch and must admit that it did not disappoint us. it has a wide range of menu to choose from and their north indian dishes are really good. you also get jain diet here in case you wish for. Pizza's and Pasta's are also available but we haven't tried them. Chocolate sizzler at the end was good. Service is descent and they are prompt.

Started with tomato soup, it was creamy and very good Wanted only Jain items so came here, was worth for Jain food, it was tasty even without onion and garlic. Service was very fast and good The paneer gravy on the starter had a little burnt flavour, other than this everything was very good The cheesy wheels were tasty and Biriyani tasted good too, but it was filled with a huge amount of beans!!! Overall it was a good lunch and will definitely come back again to try other stuff

Jalpaan was always in my list to visit, having ordered from them so many times. We finally visited on a Sunday afternoon. While the place was fairly empty when we arrived, it was bustling by the time we left. We got a seating for 6 we were. We ordered the following: Masala Papad - two medium sized papad with tomato and onion on top; Bhutta Cigar - fried snack served in shot glasses with Mayo and onion; Creamy vegetable with cheese soup; Zuppa Di Brocolli with Almond - a creamy soup with chunks of brocolli; Jalpaan Platter - having 4 pieces of Sarson ka Paneer, tandoori baby potato, spring roll, 2 pieces of veg sheekh kebab, and a portion of Tilli Baby Corn; Tilli Baby Corn was good that we ordered it separately again; Pizza Milano - 6 inch pizza sliced into 6 pieces with generous amount of cheese and all veggies; Vegetable Shashlik Sizzler. For beverages, we ordered - The Resolution; Ginger Chillicious; Delightful Kiwi; Black Panther; Flavoured Mojito - Peach and Apricot; For desserts - we ordered Chef Special Sundae. You can get Pan as well and the panwaala will come to your table to take your order. Finger bowls are brought to the table at the end. All the items very really tasty and we liked it really well, except maybe for Bhutta Cigar. The items were served quite soon for thr crowd present, without compromising on quality and taste. Staff were really polite with good ambience making the while experience really good. Prices are decent for the ambience and quantity. You can pay via Card or UPI as well. Overall we had a really good experience and would certainly visit again soon to try their main course, which we couldn't this time.

Nice experience different food style and presentation 😍

One of the good place where you get vegetarian only food. The ambience is good and it has good seating given the space. The service is really good and staffs are friendly. There is a wide range of soup, starters, main course, ice cream available with good range of fruit drinks.
Vasanthi Nagam
Started our dinner with soup of Brocolli with almond, the taste was awesome & refreshing, next we tried vegetable platter enjoyed it all tasted good. By then Stomach was full couldn't try main course, at the end we tried mocktail virgin mojito even this was excellent.

A good vegetarian fine dining restaurant. We went on a weekday so it was not crowded. We enjoyed the starter, particularly Bhuta Cigar, the pricing is still reasonable and good service. The ambiance requires some makeover. Parking is a challenge, however, you can find parking on the side roads. The restaurant is not disabled and wheelchair accessible. Overall a decent experience and suitable for families.

Giving a 5 star after long time to a restaurant. Amazing taste and food options here. Very good options for fusion food too. Not too expensive and infact good pricing for the taste offered. Try Potli Biryani, malaidar lassi, and platter and they are the ones that took my taste buds to a ride. I would suggest this place for a family dinner/lunch and also good for a get-together. There is one service guy here who always has a smile on his face. That's a really good part to have . Appreciate it .

Nice vegetarian restaurant. Strategically placed. No designated parking area. Cool ambience. Helpful staff. Pocket friendly. Tasty dishes, be it hot basil pomedero soup, Greek salad, spinach-corn-cheese balls, subz panchmel, corn-capsicum masala.....Complimentary pan shot, which was different and good. In-house panwala service. Worth a visit.
Anjana Sunil
A haven for vegetarians. They serve authentic Indian and also have good Italian fare. The service is quick and staff is also helpful. They are also known for their Jain vegetarian dishes. Good for families, groups. Must try their sizzler biryanis. Overall a great place for veggie lovers.

Hotel jalpan I was visited two weeks ago there for a team lunch. That is the second time for me. We ordered panner lababdar and soya chunks and baby corn for starter. All dish for starter is to yummy, but you try baby corn once, so crispy.. For lunch we ordered veg kolhapuri, mashroom, and paneer dish. All dish tests are good, but less spicy, you need to tell them to make spicy dishes. After that if you need soup and lassi, chass you can try it. At last they provides liquid format of PAN may be it's flavoured. May be from that they put name as JALPAN. Test was awesome. Try it. But they took time to deliver order. All are fine...

Jalpaan is one my favourite place for family meetup, the place is well maintained with hygiene and food is also prepared with good quality and also the quantity is quite good. I personally suggest you try the soup there. It was so yummy i had 4 of soup alone.. just wow😍

The only place where we visited many times along with friends, lovely staff, quick services, Platters at its best...
Thanks Jalpaan...

The place where they kept there restaurant is too dark like old buildings... But the food was really yum especially that sizzling biriyanii😍

Nice ambience and excellent service.
Pure vegetarian is an highlight
We tried sikandari panneer which was really soft and good .
Also their sizzlers were worth a try
We also loved their naan
They can add south indian cuisine too so that it may cater people who are comfortable of south indian if there is a large group of ppl for lunch or dinner.
Samarth Sinha
For someone who likes vegetarian food I love the food at Jalpaan.
It really is an underrated place according to me.
They have continental and north Indian ....
I have tried pizza which was goooooooooooooooooddd.
North Indian dishes are finger licking good as well....
Srushti BM
The ambiance is family friendly and really good . A must try is the fondue section it's just as delecious as it sounds , it's a authentic and unique.

No hygiene place. Food tastes horrible. Avoid this place. We ordered Fondue cheese . Stale taste. Only the wedges were good. Mosquitoes, no hygiene, poor lights. A big no.

Total Ratings-4/5
Ambience -4/5
Food-4.5/5
Service-4/5
Very good vegetarian restaurant in and around Jayanagar. Attractive food presentation.Quality and quantity of food is good. If you are planning for family outing it’s a very good place. Friendly staff , service is not slow.

Want to go out for dinner with your family ? I think this is another really great place for vegetarian food and is a family restaurant. Staff here is really polite and they greet you on your arrival. The place is hygienic with a good variety of food for vegetarians. I highly recommend this place for the vegetarians. I usually went to this place on sundays during my stay in bangalore and was never disappointed. We had ordered Hot Basil soup, Pani puri for the chaat, Potato wedges and cheese kurkuri for Starters. In the main course, kashmeeri Malai Kofta, Paneer Hara Pyaz and Paneer mussalam are really good. For breads we had ordered Garlic Naan.
The food was really good when it comes to taste.
Rnagara
Visited here last week to celebrate mother's day. Nothing really great about the food. White topping is being done on the road where the restaurant is, so parking may be a challenge. Food was quite average. We ordered ananas ka panna, which was refreshingly cool in the summer heat. The tomato soup was straight out of a can and tasted bad. The karara palak chat was a little too sweet for my taste. Makai seekh kabab was very tasty and well spiced. The breads were good while the side dishes were just so so (Vegetable kolhapuri and Nargis kofta). Decided to skip the dessert. The service is a tad slow at times while you will get everything together at one go at other times. Our drink came along with the main course! Will I visit again? Given the choice of much better restaurants in the vicinity, definitely not.
Prateek Gundecha
One can try anything from the menu as everything is equally delicious. Even the Italian options are great. I have visited this restaurant many times and was never disappointed by their food or service.
Vishwas Desai
I've been going to this place since 2012, it was probably the best fine dining restaurant in Rajajinagar. Though the service and the taste has deteriorated a bit it's a quiet place to visit on a Saturday evening.
Mahesh Madhyastha
Had been to this restaurant last Friday. And it was my wife's birthday. The food was really delicious and specially Nargisi Kofta is the must try. The hospitality and staff are good too.
Prathima Raja
The food tastes pretty good and the quantity is not compromised. The menu ranges through desirable dishes of various cuisines varying from Indian, Italian, Mexican and chinese. It has not failed to cater the needs of any age group. The service is also good. It is one of the best places for a huge vegetarian family.
Do note, if you are a person who likes to taste a variety of starters at one go, then apart from the platter that is good for a group, you also have a choice of individual platter.
Darshan K
Average ambience, lighting is sort of a bar type, can hardly read the menu!

Coming to the starters, we ordered Chota alu mota masala and Matti ka panner. The prices are slightly on the higher side. They were average.

For main course we ordered Subzi Tilli milli kheema and vegetable chopped masala. Tilli milli lacked the punched and it was chef recommended! The only saving grace was the chopped masala.

All in all my visit was disappointing as this place was swarming with people and has drastically gone down in terms of flavours.

Spoorthy Mysore (spoorthy.mysorekrishna@gmail.com)
A very nice restaurant. Love their food. Cheese fondue is very nice. Soups are good too. Love their Potli Biriyani. Service is good.Ambience nice too.

Food is good quality and taste-wise. Ambiance is average though. Something to learn from Chennai branch.

Liked:
1. sikandari paneer in starter
2. paneer khurcharan and kashmiri malai kofta in veg dishes
3. In roti, ordered naan, kulcha
4. Chandan sherbet (super-like)

Disliked:
1. Tandoori roti. it could have been little bit more softer.
2. They forgot to give their customary paan-shots in the end.

Will be back for chandan sherbet.

Nice restaurant cool place and service staff are pretty good, food is awesome at that price, its a beautiful family restaurant. If you wanna go with family for a restaurant then never miss this restaurant

Friendly and courteous staff, delicious spread of food. Had opted for big nachos for starters which was a big let down, at best avoidable having here. Also tried bhutta cigar which was really good. Main course was truly lip smackin. The brownie ice cream sizzler was pathetic. The syrup felt more like cough syrup and less like chocolate. Ruined the otherwise ymmm experience.

I have visited this branch of Jalpaan a couple of times and I am never disappointed. First of all let's appreciate their friendly and polite staff. It's very welcoming. Food of course was delicious and the portions are huge. Hence very filling and fulfilling 😊 love their baby corn tillis. I order it whenever I visit here. Also the sizzle biryani was yummy and very heavy. Their ambience is also very good.

We thoroughly enjoy every visit to Jalpan in Bengaluru and Mysore also. We just visit Jalpan for Fondues... This is why this place is extra special for us. Enjoyed all dishes served here. Prices are worth it and ambiance is good. Service is prompt and neat.
Must visit to try their Fondues...

Food was really awesome. We went to have potli briyani which was really good. I am not sure why they came up with policy of extra 10% service charge on total bill which already GST. It's like going against the govt norms of paying taxes.
Himamshu Ravi
Everything from food, ambience, service and value for money is perfect. I thought this place is overpriced after seeing the menu on zomato but it's totally worth it. 5/5.
Dileep Shetty
Awesome ambiance with friendly service. Loved the food and presentation. Treat to vegetarians. 5 star any day. Don’t miss to visit this place.

Summery: Do Not Visit.
Details: I have been going to this place for more than 10 years and every time the quality is declining considerably. It has reached the limit today and probably it will be our last visit here. Only thing we liked today is all time favorite potli biriyani. The kulcha was harder like rubber. The tava currey was horrible and the hands still had the food colour even after washing with soap. The garlic bread was tasteless. The starters quantity served was not reasonable at all. All thumbs down to Jalpan.

One of the worst experience with this restaurant. After reading positive review on Zomato, we went for lunch on new year day. We ordered tomato soup n they don't provide croutons with it. Paneer dish was what we ordered as a starter n they provide dip only after u ask for it. The best part is we ordered potli biryani as the main course, but to our shock we found cockroach in it.( Pic below). We were disgusted n felt really bad as even my kid had tasted it. When we raised the issue they were not very apologetic about it and said that it was a small mistake. Don't understand how these so called restaurants get awards n recognitions even though they fail to maintain the basic hygiene in kitchen and over and above they charge 10% as service charge.
Would not recommend this restaurant to anyone and please don't go if you have hygiene as one of the main factors in choosing a restaurant.
They just ruined our new year lunch.
Pathetic experience, worst unapologetic staff, expensive unclean food.

Meghna
I very rarely give a full score but I really feel this place deserves the high rating. We are non vegetarians and normally don't venture into pure vegetarian places. This time however we thought we'd give it a try. Must say we were pleasantly surprised. Starting from the beautiful ambience when we stepped in to the service by the servers, everything was perfect. Didn't miss the non veg! I would definitely recommend the big nacho which was very different from anything we have tried at other places. The paneer dish also was very good. All this for a reasonable price. Very satisfied and would definitely visit here again!!
Sunny Kothari
Second time same bad experience of taste and manager didn't even bothered to listen to me. We had ordered cheese foundu and they got me tasteless liquid fondue and they didn't even bother to respond to it in better way. Quality has gone down and so I would say think Twice
Justbangaloring
Very good food
Ambience is also very good
Staff is very prompt and helpful
Located in Jayanagar.Defintetly a must visit!!Their biryani was very flavourful.
Liked the place more when the buffet was also an everyday option not much of a a la cartel fan of this place. Was happy visiting with the previous management.

A very good family restaurant with decent veg food in jayanagar. Food is amazing with a wide variety of dishes and ambience is cool as well. We tried thili babycorn, paneer chilli tikka, fondue margarita and few other dishes. Rasmalai was just prefect which just melts in your mouth! Chocolate jamoon was unique with chocolate oozing out from jamoon.
And finally ended the meal with pan shots.Fondue margarita is one of my favorite! Love it there. Do visit to spend a good time with family and friends.
Vignesh Chandrashekar
This restaurant is completely hyped and the food what they serve is full of vegetables when we order something of paneer or mushroom. The food is also very expensive here and which is not worth at all. The name of dishes are kept fancy but what they serve is nothing new. They also charge service charge of additional 10% even after GST is in force. They were not ready to withdraw the amount charged as service charge even after talking to the manager.
Prashanth Shetty
I visited your Rajajinagar Jalapan Restaurant.

Today I felt humiliated by the policy of your restaurant which is like treating the customers a beggar. So I got annoyed.

On further studying your bill and other things, I found you illegally charge the service charges.

As per press statement dated July 08, 2017, Department of consumers affairs has reiterated that the service charges being charged from the diners by the eateries is an illegal act. The department has advised the consumers to move the consumer courts against the erring restaurants and hotels if slapped service charges.

You are not suppose to service charge as I am unhappy with your service. You collected it from me in 2 instances. Please let me know why I should not complain to government authorities?
Bharjari Bhojana
Another pure veg hotel you will find in Jayanagar, even though the rates are on higher side. It is worth trying for veg lovers.
There are a few must tries in this hotel
- Papdi pizza
- Pineapple Shorbha
- Bhatti ka panner
- Birbal ki khicdhi
- Potli biryani

Free pan shots is a Must Must try :-)

These are some unique dishes which you may not in other places.

Ratings

Service - 4/5
Food - 5/5
Kid Friendly - 3/5 (Only one kid chair)
Quality - 5/5
Overall experience - 4.5/5

Some interesting food out there. Cheese fondue was a tad bit salty. Cheese quality could be better. Over all innovation in food is commendable

Been here a long time back, the cuisine is different. But dont expect fast delivery especially on weekends and evenings. Had to struggle a lot to get our order through. Otherwise the foold wise is okay

If I am rating a restaurant at either of the extremes, like too low or too high, then I do ensure that I pay 2 visits at least. But unfortunately, this visit was such an utter disappointment that I dont think, I have patience to visit this place again just to check, if we have some hopes, unless the restaurant invites for free food!!

We went here to have a quick kind of dinner. I don't know how, but Google showed Jalpaan's name, when we were searching Pav bhaji places nearby. Post checking the menu, I did realize that they do not have Pav bhaji, but was okay with the other menu. After reaching, we placed the order quickly and the service was quite quick too. That was the only good part of the restaurant on that day, I suppose!

Firstly, we ordered 2 deep fried starters: Some Karara Coriander Paneer and Karara Palak chat.
Usually, I never go for deep fried items. But yeah, this experience ensured that I never eat fried stuff outside again. :D Paneer was just average in taste. I could merely get coriander flavour. Palak chat was a total disaster! I can 100% guarantee that the Palak leaves were fried quite far ago and must have been kept in a non-air-tight container, leading to, soft, chewy Palak leaves! So contradictory to the name(Karara palak)! That itself was enough for us to understand that this is a bad dish, in spite of good chutneys and curd. The hero of the dish itself was a zero!

Anyway, moving on, we ordered main course as 1 dish called Ratan Manjusha and Methi malai mutter and some breads - Rumali roti, Garlic naan, butter roti. Rumali roti turned chewy in 10minutes, rest roties were ok.
This Ratan Manjusha was a green cofta dipped in a red gravy and it was btw their chef recommended dish! I could not believe that a chef recommended dish can be this bad!!! Here again I 100% guarantee that the Koftas were stale, just taken out from the Fridge and deep fried, it again had that rubbary texture. And the gravy tasted literally like a thickened tomato soup. I mean, what kind of dish this is!!!
I know for a fact that refrigerating things like Koftas or marinations is a regular practice in restaurant industry, however it's the restaurant's management's responsibility to cross-check, if it's tasting the way it should be or at least tasty or at least good enough!

Moreoever, if your restaurant is high rated on a service like Zomato, it's your responsibility to respect and live up to it too!

And for such kind of food, we paid some odd 1300 bucks! I mean, seriously!!?
I lost all the desire to visit this place again because of such filthy annoying and disappointing experience.

Jalpaan - An amazing restaurant for vegetarians and also Jains. The ambience, the cutlery, the menu ,the service, the food and of course, the jal paan. All of it was an absolute treat!

Although the place is nested just slightly inside from the main road, once you get inside, the ambience sets in. The entrance is not catchy and hence is pathetic. Must improve on it. Interiors are nicely done. The lighting is just perfect (a little dim though). There's a variety of seating options from 4 or 6 to small party pockets.

The food options are multi cuisine and the taste is awesome. Tomato shorba is offered in a cup which might be uncomfortable for a few since the holder is hot too. Great place to eat out for Jains and Vegetarians. Fine Dine at a price that doesn't pinch your pocket.

Had tamater shorba, butta cigar (american sweet corn) presented beautifully with white sauce, Nachos which was just ok ok, melon breeze and virgin colada which are must trys there. Panner Tikka lababdar was great choice of curry with the rotis and kulchas. Vilaiti subzi biriyani sizzler was average. Overall it was satisfactory and not great.

And end it with a lovely traditional paan on your way out. Completes a perfect dinner..
Roopasudhi
This place was amazing with great food and service as well as amazing, clean facilities. Good ambience as well. I would recommend the margherita fondue, good dish.
Avinash Nadig
Just ok, not so great. I ordered pizza and crust not good but toppings were fairly good. Hope next time it will be much better and well packed
Chandan Soni
We ordered 4 items out of which we loved only 1 - Cheese Quesadillas. Rest of main course Bahare Chaman Sizzlar & Masaledar Kumbh Khazana was SO SO .. Ambience is Ok. Service is fast.
Sandesh Kumar
I went here on a Saturday evening, there was a waiting queue of 20-25 minutes (and they don't take prior reservations on weekends).
Food items were great but bit overpriced.
Good for people looking for veg only place or Jain food.
RK
Situated in a quiet lane in Jayanagar 8th Block this place can be missed. But, it used to be quite popular when it was new. Anyway, I do find the food here quite decent. However, few items are a bit overpriced. This time I liked what I ate and I would surely recommend you to try once.
Shwethans
Very good packing and taste
JN
The three star given is for the shabby maintenance of the ground and subsequent floors leading to the restaurant. Hope you people do something positive about it. As far as the food is concerned quality has slightly come down especially the rotis. We felt the sizzlers’ smell especially the burnt chocolate was overpowering and one teenager who accompanied us felt, nauseous. However staff continues to be friendly fast and courteous. Mr Sanath Shetty is very polite and does a great job.
Deepthi
Had dinner with my family. Menu is perfect. Food is very tasty and delicious. Service is just amazing! Very cool ambience. Will be back definitely!
One of the best pure veg places in the city clearly
I have been here thrice unfortunately couldn’t take any pic
The service is good and very fast!!
Perfect place for family dinners
Starters especially are amazing
Main course is good too paneer butter masala and malai kofta are the best ones
Masala papad dal tadka add to the value much more
Neha Poddar
Food was awesome in taste but service was somewhat unprofessional. The waiters seemed to be in extreme hurry while serving. They also dint use a tray while serving the drink. hence 4 rating. Good ambience. Cleanliness should be more attended to.
Sushma B
An average veg restaurant in the city..They didn't give us a chance to place an order for the starters as most of the menu items were not available for placing the order due to their oven not working!!! So, we had to settle for some starter platter they served us.. Which was of jus okay kinda taste.. Main course was jus average. They secured baked rasmalai for desserts which was so hard and rubbery- ish!!! Jalpaan, you'll be a nice results if you take some corrective measures asap on the above mention points!
Neha Jahagirdar
This is one of the best vegetarian restaurants. We had went to dinner. We ordered Sikandari paneer for starters.. it tasted really really good. Next, it was breads and potato wedges with hot boiling cheese(dont remeber the name though) it was good too. At last we ordered a pesto pasta.. yummy it was. A must visit place.
Amazing food, good ambience, nice lighting :)
Prasanna
They have the best nachos and desert. Must try Big Nachos and Sizzler Brownie. They too have some good beverages, nice italian and north indian choices.
Manoj Asrani
Paneer was very very hard today :-(
Rohith Sv
Taste wise it was not good at all. Quantity was enough though. Overall not worth it.
Nanditha Narayan
Variety of dishes they offer is great but the food is just okay. Ambience is okay. The best part about here is their Chaas as it is in all Jalpaan outlets. Staff is courteous and respond well. Overall a decent place but not exceptional.
Abhishek
There were only 3 pieces of paneer in the whole gravy. Other restaurants provide atleast 5-6 large sized paneer. Not recommended
Manishamehta01695
We all had the great time there, the staff is very nice and so is the ambience but talking about the food I didn't like it much we had a potato n corn cigar, lasagna and the paan shots are complimentary, the only thing I liked was paan shots and other than that was not so good.
SJ
We were here on a weekend and had to wait for 10 minutes before being seated. The place has a huge menu and any veg dish you think will be available for order.. The dishes ordered including Paani puri and veg kofta were delicious. Service was painfully slow and could possibly be attributed to the crowd. Wouldn’t mind going back.
—-
Update from the recent visit. Service continues to be good. Portions are nice and presentation good. The only challenge that I found here like at any other place is around spiciness of the food. We normally prefer less or non- spicy food and no matter what was informed as less or non spicy was still spicy for us and thus changed my star rating.
Pavan Prabhakar
Good place for good food.. ambience is very ordinary.. as basic as the menu card looks archaic.. the major put off is the entrance.. very sluggish and shabby.. the interiors too were not well maintained.. if you are looking for a place where ONLY taste matters then u can go for it!!
Food - 3.5/5
Ambience - 1/5
Service - 3/5

Harshitha
good place for veggies but bit costly, friendly stuff, good food and quality. They mainly serve north indian food.Roti and subzi are very good
Varun
A good place for dining if u are a vegetarian :)
The place is crowded and as soon as the place gets crowded the staffs getting confused on your orders..
Taste wise it's good!! It did meet our expectations.
Nanditha A
Careless wait staff. They gave a drink to the table after the lady on the table next to us took a sip from it. Food though was okay, the entire wait staff is in a hurry. They took the drink back to the drink counter and I am sure they put the same drink to the mixer and gave it back to us. End of the meal I told the wait staff I was unhappy and they tell me they have put up a sign saying they charge 10% service tax. I am not going back.
Rimjhim Agrawal
We just went randomly. This place is good. And food is out standing. Loved their Italian salads, antipasti and chocolate sizzler. Cream of veg was not that great.
Stuart Little
Had been to this place with a friend. As soon as we enter, we are told the AC isnt working & there is no fan arranged too. Not sure how they expected customers to eat without this! Food was Ok though. but service is slow.
Shyls Mn
Getting a booking over a weekend is difficult!! Its really crowded and therefore the service feels a little rushed too! Food is expensive for the taste!! The paneer definitely did not feel fresh and juicy but the Kadai Veg, the mushroom curry, bhendi - was very tasty.Jeera rice was perfect! The best was the veg shorba and the masala chaas!!!

Ambience - 3.5/5
Foof 3.5/5
Staff - friendly -4/5
Cost -3/5
Cleanliness -3/5

A restaurant I would visit again but maybe on a weekday when it is not so crowded and maybe our experience would be different! Expensive though!

hi. the food was appreciable and loved it. I just have a doubt. at jalpan 6% service charge was charged apart from GST. not like they charged it without my knowledge, they have put a notice regarding the same.I felt there should be a better explanation for that.

Jalpaan - perfect place for families to spend valuable time.. Been there with friends. Ambience was good.. Now coming to food, ordered vegetable risotto soup, starters -makai seekh kebab, tilli babycorn, chota aloo mota masala, skiandari paneer.. Soup was good, starters were nice as expected but not happy with choto aloo mota masala. It was just a baby potato with light masala or can say no masala on it.. we were expecting stuffed aloo with masala.. Later we ordered 'Fondue The Original' - croutons served with cheese sauce and wedges.. I personally didn't like it.. It was for the first time I tried Fondue .. But for an experience , can give it a try..

Now coming to service, we waited for nearly 15-20 mins to get menu card from staff.. This needs to be taken care..

Overall it was a nice experience to be there..

Initially, it is not easy to locate the place but definitely worth a check. Their baby potato dish was awesome and a must try for anyone who loves north indian food. The ambience is good and service can be better.

best food for the price! it's very hard to find these kind of restaurants which serve at least food worth for the price charged. The unlimited starters served are heaven

A popular vegetarian-only restaurant in jaynagar known for some of its trademark dishes. What struck my eyes the most here on both my visits was the silver ware cutlery, beautiful selection must add, and ofc the size of its menu, fanciful names and amazing variety though the menu itself looks 'dilapidated'. I had ordered Bhutta cigar and palak Khichdi on my first visit. The rendition of baby corn in Mayo dip was catchy but I found nothing gr8 when it comes to the taste quotient. Palak Khichdi was the regular Bengaluru restaurants' now ubiquitous item, not that it was tasty but somehow clichĂŠd, ya it comes with a dash of spinach in it. On my second visit I was in for bit of a surprise for they have a Singles' platter consisting of a piece each of tandoor baked potato, paneer n mushroom, perfect for a solo diner. Another thing I did try was the potli biriyani which comes wrapped in a neatly made poori, exactly stuffed inside it, to be more specific it's a large sized dimsum with vegetable biriyani for stuffing. Taste again nothing extraordinary. Service good, prices on the higher side. Somewhere I feel that the innovative twist given to wide ranging delicacies available here doesn't do justice to equally high expectations of a gastronomical treat when it comes to what matters the most, taste. Message lost in translation?

Location : near JSS circle, Jayanagar. Can be located easily

Ambiance - 4/5
, nice ambiance
Taste - 4/5
, taste wise it is good.
Pricing - 3/5, little bit expensive.

Staff was Courteous all time, but when the bill was given the attendant was in a very hurry to send us out. Just gave the bill and within few seconds he was coming and checking whether the card is there or not, this was feeling very uncomfortable for us to sit and enjoy food at the last.

Amazing!! The place is not so noticable from the main road but however the place is amazing. The ambience is lit but a little dark. The food was tasty! The service was a little slow as it was overly crowded. The place is affordable. There is vallet parking. The quality of the food was amazing!
Head over now!
If you liked this review please give a thumbs-up below!
Follow for more food reviews!

Everything is mediocre at best. Decor is non existent
I find the ratings baffling. Seems to be popular among jains and pure vegitarians. Just did not look like a restaurant you pay for.

Been here yesterday with my girls who are herbivore :) lts one of the best veg food I had tasted lately. Few things that turned me off was the potli biryani , too much masala n oil, it was really average . And also the fact that iam from Mangalore city n used to eating those giant mushroom tikka of royal darbar , i assumed giant mushrooms meant the same in the menu of Jalpaan. But no they were very tiny normal mushrooms and there was nothing huge or giant about them. But lazeez kumb on the whole as a dish was something we relished. Mushrooms just went inside very fast and it was lip smacking.

What won our heart was the veg shorba , it was awesome and the big nachos. With all that lettuce n sauces n sour cream n hot beans bell pepper , omg it was the best nachos ever. Masaledaar subz tawa was indeed too much masala n onions. It was ok . Nothing out of the world about the dish. Tandoor ke phool was good too. Pineapple panna n chandan sherbat were really really good. Definitely recommended. Worth for the money. Going to visit again soon. Their menu is very interesting .

Locating the restaurant shouldn't be a problem.
It's in Jayanagar 7th block near JSS Circle.
We decided to visit this place on the ocassion on my parents wedding anniversary.
The place has a decent ambience.
We had ordered Vegetable Shorba, Masala Papad, Barbecue Paneer Pizza, Butter Roti & Kulcha with Nargisi Kofta and Jeera Rice.
All dishes tasted very ordinary, nothing special at all.
The paneer in the pizza had some weird kind of smell, it smelled as if the panner was very old. Though the taste was " okay " , this was a let down.
The staff is courteous.
I also felt that it's a tad bit expensive for the quality of the food.

Had a lovely evening with family at the restaurant. Good ambience and tasty food. It's pure veg and we get Jain food too. I specifically liked the Bhutta cigar starter and the aloo biryani sizzler. Valet parking also available.
