Review Utse Kitchen - Bengaluru

Looking for a Nepali food in Bangalore then check this out. This place has Tibetan food and style and it is close to "Commercial Street" Based on cuisine inspired by Himalayan region. Service is good too. Chinese food is too good. I strongly recommend you to try this and have a different experience.

If you're looking for a place with authentic Tibetan food, then this is the one. It's situated in a less crowded area close to Commercial Street. The atmosphere inside is very calming and welcoming. The staff is very down to earth. We tried their Chicken Momo Platter and it was worth it. Authentic in-house sauces were used. Mouth watering food! Would 100% recommend this place to friends ♥️

Ordered via swiggy. Easily one of the best via swiggy. Fresh hot food!! Will surely visit them now. Ordered two thalis and one fried rice. Visited on 25th Nov. Food is served hot and fresh and naturally takes reasonable time. In person experience is amazing. We were a group of 6 and all of us loved the food. Ordered Nepali and Tibetian Thali, Thingmo and chicken shaptra, Mutton flat noodle soup, Cheese momo (cheese applied on top of momo and not used as a filling). Limited parking (street) is available but plan under assumption that no parking is available. Service, food and ambience - 5star

They have one of the best momos I have ever had. Seafood options and multiple cuisines available. The side dish of kimchi, radish and spinach and all sauces were really good. The vibe of the place and the music was peaceful and relaxing. The only issue was the less number of staff which compensated the service a little bit. Also they can improve on the lime soda.

I have never experienced such a hospitality ever before in hotels.Nepali food is so delicious.Strongly recommend to experience a different Tibetan style of stay and food

I randomly chose to visit and truly enjoyed the food here clubbed with the ambience and super friendly staff hosting really well. Though I didn't order the authentic Nepali food, the butter garlic mixed noodles tasted good. The restaurant is well maintained and the whole feel makes the visit worthwhile.

Never fails to impress. I truly love this place. The food and the service is amazing. The service is top notch always with a smile. I have visited it thrice now whenever I'm in bangalore. And the good has my heart. The vibe is great as well

Discovered this amazing place which has mind blowing food. They've great Nepali thali, which was better than the Bamey's Nepali thali. Also the other dishes here were great. The soup was amazing. I forgot the name cuz it was a lil complicated. Must try. Also you get to buy few traditional handmade jewellery from here.

One of the best place for Thukpa and momos. The Kathmandu Chilli momos are a must-try. The staff were very polite too especially Rebecca, and the place had very Tibetan vibes. We had a great time there!

Amazing food with great flavours. Have been visiting the place since it was opened.

This place has my heart. They have the best Tibetan & Nepali cuisine. It's exceptionally authentic, delicious and they offer great portion sizes. This place is a must visit to dine in, the ambience is really beautiful and calming. They offer a momo platter which is my go to. I also love their Thukpa which is delicious, authentic and healing. The service offered is very heart warming too. I love their Chilli Garlic Fried Rice/ noodles too. The place is definitely located in a more residential area but it truly deserves a bigger fan base!

The place is really quaint and pretty. The Darjeeling momos were to die for and the owners are very friendly and helpful though they did mess up our order a little haha but they were very courteous. Will definitely be returning soon!

Loved the food here. If you have planned to have lunch while shopping in commercial Street, and you want to try out cuisine from Tibet, then you are in the right place. Nicely decorated interior, tasty food and pleasant to dine in. Wonderful staff who helps you decide from the menu. They explain the food and help you order as per your need. The rest room here is so neat. They have about 27 rooms equipped with guest's needs above the restaurant. So, people visiting this place do have stay options as well. This place definitely attracts foreign customers as well. Good taste. Would surely visit again while I go shopping in commercial.

Utse serves traditional and authentic Tibetan food. The ambiance is very homely and peaceful. It’s hard to find parking near this place. The service was a little slow but worth the wait for the food. Food: Veg thupka : For the lovely monsoon season , this soupy bowl of noodles makes your stomach happy and kept us warm. Rose momos: This was my least favourite from what we ordered. The momos were too thick and the chicken filling was less. So it tastes pretty bland. If the momos could be made in a smaller size it would come out better. Utse money bag momos: I really liked the presentation of this dish.it was something really unique, the filling was panned and it paired well with the sauce given. Overall a great place to find authentic Tibetan dishes and their meals are also worth a try.

A calm and peaceful place to enjoy your meal. Variety in the menu and good staff makes a nice experience to visit the restaurant more than just once.

The place is a cosy corner and quite isolated compared to most restaurants. Even so, the service is exemplary and the food served is excellent as well. The price paid is justified with the taste and the portion of food served.
Pavitam Chucks
Please give this place a try if you want to have lip smacking lamb. I can’t recommend it enough , the meat literally fell off the bones. The momos were succulent and savoury.

A beautiful abode, where one is pampered by the gourmet food served with warmth ! Serene place amidst the hustle and bustle of Commercial street! Tired shopoholics and travellers can recoup their mind, body and soul with soul food and comfy rooms........all here at 'UTSE' !

Prompt and flexible service , excellent food quality , Unique and mesmerising ambience theme, Calming environment & good connectivity as next to commercial market. The reason behind these praises are the nice and kind hearted staff of Utse Suites rite from Top to Bottom who are always at your service with a smile on their face.

Loved everything about it. From the entrance door to the reception and to the terrace it reflects the rich culture and tradition of Tibet! Had a lovely time with friends. Food was great - Nepalese and Tibetan Ambience - homely and cosy. People - friendly and warm Room - comfortable with all essentials Location - central and close to Commercial Street, MG Road, Frazer Town, Mosque Road, Cantt Station... Will go many more times!

I have dined at this restaurant quite a few times. Love their food. However - something is wrong with the restaurant policy as they refused to provide me with an invoice for my order recently. I called them to check the issue as well and they blatantly refused that they can't provide me with an invoice copy for this order. I am not sure if restaurants are allowed to do that. You may want to check before ordering from here if you need the invoice copy for some kind of reimbursement.

That is what you get for 400 bucks. Seriously?
Have some shame.
Deepthi S Hegde
A quaint place so close to the ever crowded commercial street. A warm ambience and service welcomes you with a happy conversations all over vibes. Momos to relish from traditional nepali cuisine. A must go to place for momos.

I was so excited to order and eat from here, but never been this disappointed by a restaurant. I’ve eaten a lot of Himalayan and Nepalese food in my life, this one is by far the worst. The sadeko was stale and totally bland - felt like was eating salt less boiled potatoes. The jhol momos are nothing close to what you would eat in Nepal. Extremely bland and blah - wouldn’t recommend at all. What’s worst though is the dips you get on the side of the tingly/momo. The worst and most bland and liquidy momo dip o have ever had. How this place is 4.2 is a mystery to me. And everything is so expensive, you’d expect so much more if you charge someone 250 bucks for 6 skinny pieces of momo. Thoroughly disappointed.

This is a gem of a place, hidden in the commercial Street. Courteous staff and we'll maintained restaurant. The food that we tried was yummy !

Utse the quiet and soothing place for good food, love love love their Nepali Thali

Also tried their Thupka & Chicken bao. But the simpleness of their thali got me visiting the place quite a few times

Food - 4/5

Service - 5/5

Ambiance - 5/5

Price - 5/5

I ordered from this place a home delivery. We ordered nonveg Chinese set meal and non veg Tibetan set meal and both were horrible.
There was no chicken pieces in both the dishes, only 3 chunks of chicken. And everything was tasteless and oversalted. Also, in the Chicken Chinese was missing fried rice was missing.

Happiness on a plate.... The Tibetan Thali at Utse.... A gem of a place in an obscure part of Commercial street... Discovered it courtesy a friend n boy am so glad... This was the Tibetan Thali with a scrumptious meat pie, amazing steamed momos, a simple potato dish with fresh herbs, fresh spinach tossed with garlic, a light soya sauce based chicken dish with glass noodles and a hearty delicious soup... It was all comfort food presented is one fabulous Thali... With decor to match the amazing food... With traditional Tibetan chants playing at the background, no sound of the maddening traffic outside ... This tiny oasis in middle of the city is like a tiny piece of Tibet in Namma Urru!!!

One of the best places to enjoy Tibetan food.. though it's not located right in the middle of commercial Street, it is just at a walkable distance from commercial st. food was served Very hot and it tasted real good!!

This had been on my bookmarks for over an year. Finally found the right time to visit.

The location is very convenient, heart of the city, very close to commercial street.
Once you enter here, you will be transformed to a different world which is very different from the chaos outside.
They have maintained a very calm, soothing ambience which is quite good. Parking is definitely a problem, moreover the road outside is a one way.

Service is reaaallllllly slow. But you will appreciate the quiet old man though. He takes down orders very neatly in his notebook & repeats them. However he is not able to suggest you dishes, which was kind of disappointing because this was the first time we tried tibetan cuisine. Moreover he is not of much help if we ask him what's a particular dish is about.
We need to bear with it though ☺️

We tried a variety of dishes.
1. Veg Tempura - was served very hot. The name is fancy but Basically for us, it tasted like veg bhajjis 😄 quite good though.
2. Aloo momos - quite yum. The only con was that the covering was quite dry at the top, where they seal the momos.
3. Cheese balls - the tastiest dish among all. Must try.
4. Aloo sandheko - a street food. Not bad, sandhekos are served cold. So few of us didn't like it that much.
5. Veg in creamy sauce - something similar to veggies in white sauce but not exactly the same. We were quite happy with this.
6. Prawns & broccoli in oyster sauce - a must for prawn lovers.
7. Tibetan set meal - Basically served with rice, soup, 2 momos, one fried momos, Tibet curry, seaweed(or spinach, not sure) & aloo sandheko. Kind of ok. This was kind of let down for us.
8. Darsaan with ice cream - must try dessert. Quantity is more than enough for 2.
9. Chocolate Spring roll - for chocolate lovers, yes. But again they serve around 5 rolls which becomes too much for a single person after a meal.
10. Crepe with maple syrup - please DO NOT have this. This is more like a dosa and definitely not a crepe.. Have uploaded a picture of the same.

Found this hidden gem in the buzz of Bangalore's commercial street!

This place has some amazing dishes on its menu and is a must visit for Asian Cuisine lovers!
Dish 1: Himalayan Chopseuy 4.5/5
This is the only non-American chopseuy that has not disappointed till date! Its a moist creamy chicken gravy on crispy noodle base and is super tasty
Dish 2: Chicken Thukpa 4.5/5
It's a classic dish and full of flavours. Those who haven't tried thukpa before, its noodles in a flavourful chicken broth!

Dish 3: Fragrant mushroom & chicken fried rice 3.5/5
It was a decent friend rice with chicken and mushrooms
Dish 4: Thai glass noodles 4/5
Thin glass noodles in a thick gravy with veggies

Dish 5: Manchow Soup 4/5
Taste was amazing but quantity was very less for a by 2 soup. Adviceable to take full portion

Service is a bit slow but ambience is good! They also serve a thali. Looking forward to have it next time :)

The first time I visited this place, I fell in love with the ambience, service and above all the Momos.
But last night’s visit proved all of that wrong. The Momo’s were bad, very oily and too thick. I left almost half of my food. Very disappointed.
What's In Your Menu.?!
Looking at the ratings and also since it was nearby we wanted to visit this place from a very long time. But, it was not as expected.!

In case, ou prefer some personal time with peaceful and calm ambence, this is the place. You can spend some qiality, quite time here. We love the Tibetian decoraton which is photogenic.

In food we ordered Chicken hot & Sour- which was thick and spicy. Chicken momo with peanut sauce is a Must try.
In starters Sweet & Sour Chicken which we expected to be dry, was a gravy. The taste was sweet with pine apple slices in it. We were disssapointed.! Among noodles, veg Dan dan mein pan fried noodles was tasty with good amount of veggies. This was appetizing.

The food is served & managed by a humble Old man.
One suggestion about service- they need a dedicated Staff as we had communication problem while ordering food. Also thy don't have sufficient parking which has to be taken care of.

Decent place to satisfy one's cravings for Nepali and Tibetan food. And, one cannot begin these two cuisines without the now ubiquitous momos. The chicken momos came in a moktuu (the steel container in which the dish is cooked). The presentation was good and the momos were tasty. Would not say it was the best momos that I have every had but yeah...pretty good! The chicken thali was filling - the meat pieces were succulent, the black dal was exactly I had hoped it to be, the chutney a little bit on the spicy side and the aloo dum was okay.

The ambiance of the place is good. Looks like the owners have done their bit into giving the place an authentic look and feel. And, it works to a great extent. Tibetan paintings adorn the walls, the chairs and tables are of premium quality. Had some difficulty locating the place but the experience was worth it.

An old couple served us wearing the traditional Tibetan dress. The lady, wearing a bakkhu, was very sweet and ensured that we had a great time. The gentleman was equally courteous. Saw a lot of other dishes on the menu that I wanted to try. Maybe, next time.

Price: 4/5
Ambiance: 4/5
Value for money: 3/5
Food: 4/5Service: 5 stars :)

Amazing and Authentic.
It is a very simple and quiet restaurant. The decor is authentic and soothing. We were served by an old couple who were pleasant and friendly.
We ordered Tibetan set meal. It had soup, momos, rice, spinach salad, potatoes and Tibetan style curry. Thoroughly enjoyed each dish. The presentation was also good. We also had butter tea, which was very unique with its salty flavor. For dessert, we had chocolate spring rolls. They were okayish, there could have been more chocolate filling.
It is one of the best places to try Tibetan cuisine. Everything about this place is authentic. It is not very expensive given the quality and the quantity. One of the must visit places.

Decor - 4.5/5
Food - 4/5
Service - 4/5
Price - 4.5/5

Reviews of this place looked very promising but the food was such a disappointment... Ordered the chicken fried momos, chicken American chopsuey and honey chilli chicken - all of them were bad! The chicken momos had no chicken in them and the cover was tooo thick, the chopsuey was just too sweet and unedible and the honey chilli chicken was also too sweet - very honey heavy! Such a disappointment...

Nice cosy place in kamraj road...7-9 mins walk from main commercial circle..very delicate flavours ...we tried the chicken momo chicken thukpa and Everest set meal....though enjoyed the taste and flavours ... would have loved more filling in momos and few vegetables in thukpa.

Pleasant and calm atmosphere. The food can be termed as straight from the hills. The staff is very pleasant and welcoming. Location is little bit off the track.

Great tibetian food is served here. We’d ordered :
> Talumen Soup (3/5)
> Fried Chilly fish (5/5)
> Lamb Chilli (4/5)
> Devil’s Curry (5/5)
Must visit. Really authentic.

Quite a surprise to find this hidden treasure. Its a nepalese restaurant. We ordered for the chicken momos, Everest Thali, chicken Lolipop, Thenkhuk, chilli garlic noodles and the Fried pineapple in caramel sauce. Every single dish hit the spot. Very rarely does it happen that everything you order is so good. Service is a tad slow so it's best you come with lots of casual time. Highly recommended.

Nice decent place to go once a while. Simple and calm ambience. A must try place to try different type of cuisine from daily routine. 😊
Friendly and nice staff.

We ordered Everest thali, chicken momos, Thukpa and Tibetan thali. All of them were so good especially the momos and thukpa. They have done a good job in maintaining the place as well. It's cute and cozy.

I have been here a few times and I hate myself for not uploading a review any sooner.
These guys put magic and love in food. Well, at least that's what it seems when you eat it.
My regular has gotten to be the masala tea, chicken thukpa and steamed chicken momos.
There's a board outside the place which says something in lines of -best Momos in Bangalore, they are not lying, people! It IS the best.
Once took my parents here and my mom cannot stop telling me again and again how much she loved it.
I have even had the Nepali thali during my other visit and nothing has felt more homely than that. Being a Bengali, having able to eat stirfried greens and veggies with rice and daal with that magical raddish pickle is absolute love!
Want to go there again and again.
Here's hoping they never lose their charm!

P.S. The sweetest people as well.

This is a cozy little restaurant located on a not- so- nice street of Kamraj road. The restaurant is extremely clean and maintained very well. The staff is really sweet and courteous. I had the chicken momos and they are the best Momos I've ever tried till date. So so good. I also had the veg thukpa which was tasty and very filling since the quantity was quite large. The ambience is very peaceful and it is a lovely place to have a relaxed meal. I'm definitely going back to try more food from here.

Utse kitchen is a really nice looking place in one of the not-so-nice crazy streets near commercial street. The restaurant is nice and peaceful and has a nice menu.
The Nepali masala tea was very good. The Kathmandu chilli momos was yummy and rose momos were quite nice too.
For main course , we tried some tibetian specialities like Bhakthuk and Thukpa and they were nice and filling. The whole experience was difrerent and enjoyable. Best thing is that it is not expensive at all
The only negative was the long waiting time between the dishes and some of the orders being forgotten.

Pratibha Chakrabarty
This is an excellent place to visit if you are craving some good food with a peaceful ambience. We had the Everest Thali, Momo Platter, Butter Tea and Bhakthuk. Each dish was delicious, filling and didn't burn a hole in the pocket! The Momos are a must have. Absolutely loved it. Will visit again :)

Utse was a discovery. No, not the best momos in town as they claim on a board outside but a lot of warmth in service from the old gentleman who serves. He guides correctly on how much to order and we ended up with a smorgasbord of momos. The jhol momos, the Kathmandu Chili Version and the Sandekho were all very different and the soup (Phing Sha) was ethereal with Himalayan herbs.
The place is not located on Commercial St as Zomato says but on a small street off Fraser town. Google your way here for a very authentic Himalayan experience.
Meghna Raju
Went here on a nice, cool, rainy afternoon and oh, what a lovely decision.
Beautifully steamed chicken momos with delish chutneys.
We ordered for the thukpa which was an absolute delight on a cloudy afternoon!
The Nepalese tea was a real nice refresher as well.
A must visit!! ❤️😋

Saturday afternoon, after shopping in Commercial Street with my family we came here in Utse Kitchen for lunch. It's a Tibetian, Nepalese cuisine. Their ambience is unique and very pretty decorated with some paintings, black and white strips type table, colourful small doors at one place and wooden embellishments carved everywhere. They have also kept some Tibetian jewelry, toys under a glass. I loved how amazing the theme of this place is and give us a mini feeling of being in Nepal.
Now in Food-
They have a lot of varieties to serve. We had Chicken Momos, Hong Kong chicken, Lemon ginger chicken, Sichuan Noodles and dessert- Fried Pineapple in Caramel Sauce. It tasted great. I didn't liked Lemon ginger chicken, it felt little dry. Momos and noodles were perfect. I'm not a fan of pineapple but this dessert changed my mind and I loved it!
Well for a change do give a try to this restaurant as you won't get much Tibetian cuisine restaurants here. It calm and a very good choice to spend time with your family and friends.

Was craving some Tibetian food and while searching for a place to go to, came across this place and decided to try it out. You would not expect it to be in this location the building stands out and looks quite nice from the outside. The first thing that strikes you while you enter is the decor, it's beautifully done with so much detail, added points for the calming music in the background.
They have a good selection of food for you to choose from. We order quite a bit of food, starting from fried momos, spring rolls, shapta and the highlight for me was the Thukpa, the broth was full of flavours and hearty and I just couldn't get enough of it. Everthing was on point. Finished of our meal fried banana. 👍👍👍

The place is really awesome. The service is a bit slow but that's ok! The variety of cuisines and the taste of food served is really good.

The way customers are treated is also good. Very polite and listening.

Pretty decent options for both veg and non veg food.
The best part however is the ambience!

Brilliant food, brilliant service.
Ordered two broths- thukpa and mok-thuk. Such soulful food. Perfectly cooked. Staff was so courteous.
Ambience 5/5
Service 5/5

Food
Quality 5/5
Quantity 6/5 (Portions are huge. One single bowl was enough.)
VFM 5/5

Housed in a nondescript locale, the place invites you inside with a board that proclaims to serve the best Momos in town. And my they aren't lying!!

Now if only I could give them something like a 7/5...

The momos were perfectly cooked. Neither too mushy, nor raw. The filling was subtle yet flavourful. The sauces were great too. Even the food apart from the Momos was delicious. The Phuket Street Chilli Chicken was very much like your regular chilli chicken but with a delightful twist. The Thentuk was authentic, brothy and served hot. The Kathmandu Chilli momos, though slightly spicy, are an absolute must have.

The ambience is homely, cosy and Tibetan, with soft music/ Buddhist verses playing in the background. The service is quicker than you can gulp down those edible bags of pure joy. There's nothing not to love about this place. An absolute must visit!

Food - 7/5
Ambience - 5/5
Service - 5/5

Why are you still reading. Just visit the place already!!

This is such a lovely and quaint place, with amazing food. It's on commercial st but it succeeds in taking you away from the chaos outside. Highly recommend!

Best Nepali food I have ever had so far...
Good ambience and friendly staff...
Yak milk butter tea, Katmandu momos , Everest thali are the must try recipes
I came across this place recently and saw the great reviews, so decided to try it myself. First thing that strikes you about this place is their amazing ambience. It is very calm and soothing. Coming to the food, I tried Kathmandu Chilli Momos and veg thukpa. Kathmandu momos were one of the best (and spiciest) momos that I have ever eaten. Thukpa was also amazing. Their quantities are pretty good and service is really fast. Food is not very expensive also. Definitely visiting again to try out more stuff.
Sanhita
What lured me into trying this place is the fact that it says - best momos in town! Well honestly momos are good but they aren't as wonderful as you imagine them to be.. the food is okay.. Some things being delightfully good and some just average.. it may take a couple of tries to identify the one good thing you will come back to for..

This restuarant is located on the busy street of commercial Street . The restuarant is reknowned for having the best Nepali and tibetteian cuisine .
Wooden embellishments carved everywhere does give it a authentic touch .

I ordered
spanich momo (5/5)
Everest thali (4/5)
Bhakthuk (4.5/5)

Spanich momo were amazing , the tender dumpling steamed to finesse with coating of oil is a must to have here.

I particularly enjoyed the Kalo daal ,aalu and tomato chutney In thali , I give it 4 as I find need of either more rice or chapathy with the thali .

Bhakthuk is soup preparation which is less- medium spicy comprising fussili pasta , herbs , veggies and a perfect taste of spices . I would surely recommend this dish !

The staff was courteous .

Cons -
1.The order service takes time more than expeted
2.The money you shell out isblittle more than the quantity they serve ( Everest thali for that matter )
We loved the ambience and the background music. Their menu has flavors of tibet, nepal, chinese. Their yak tea is bit salty but worth a try. Loved this drysel sweet, rice looked undercooked but when we tasted it was perfect. Mild sweet n rich dry fruits. Loved it.

4.5.
What an absolutely beautiful experience I had here today!
We reached at around 3:30pm today. Starting off with the ambience, it's great, it's spacious and colourful, everything's very beautiful.
We started off by ordering momo sandheko, lamb sukuti and jhol momo.
Out of these the sukuti and sandheko were the best, the jhol in the jhol momos wasn't great, didn't really taste good tbh.
For main course we ordered the thenthuk and mokthuk, both were absolutely delicious and very aesthetically pleasing as well but the thenthuk is an absolute 5/5 and the dish of the day for me.
We ended our meal with the Nepali tea and yak butter tea, I loved the yak butter tea, must try!
Forgot to ask the name of our server but special shoutout to him as well, he's just so kind and his smile will make your day.

Food: 4/5
Service: 5/5
Ambience: 4.5/5
Value for money: 4.5/5

Excellent service and interiors. Ordered thukpa, Lhasa mix fried rice and noodles. Thukpa stole the show! The quantity of noodles and thukpa are commendable. No scope for complaints. The quantity of fried rice however wasn't upto the mark. Calm ambience. Worth a visit.

We got to know about Utse via Zomato while trying to find places to eat near commercial street.
It's about a 500 mtrs walk down Kamaraj road, and just when you think you've got the location wrong, it pops up on the left side of the road.
As we entered we saw a board stating- 'simply the best Momos in town' a tall claim to make indeed.

We were soon seated cozily and ordered for our food, a tibetian yak butter tea and a Nepali masala chai to start followed by our mains.
The yak butter tea had a very different and salty taste, it was rich too. But not everyone's cup of tea I reckon.

We called for Momos in gravy and a tibetian set meal. The Momos came in a bowl of gravy, 8 pcs and it was super duper spicy, a fiery and teary meal for us.
But were they the best Momos in town? Certainly not for us, the dough was tougher than what can be called ideal, filling was ok. We've had much better Momos in several places.
The tibetian set meal comprised of a tangy and salty chicken and potato gravy, some blanched spinach with sesame, dry potato dish, 2 Momos and rice. It was a good plate of food.

But this place was not about the food, it was more fundamental that that, the reason why one goes out to have food- the service. And they were completely lacking in that regard.

There was one old gentleman who was taking orders and serving who was working hard, but at that age the ability to take information, comprehend and execute is compromised to a great deal. It's science, nothing we can do about it. So he wouldn't understand most of what we wanted.
They need to supplement him with good support staff, but the other staff was an arrogrant prick. Took our orders for noodles and forgot all about it.
We learned of this only after waiting for half an hour, then walking up to him and asking about it. But the response was more than shocking.
He just shrugged his shoulders and said ' I didn't take any order from you' . Simple.
Jaw drop moment for us.
Non apologetic, and even worse the manager also was least bothered. Just handed over the bill, took the money and was done.
They didn't offer to serve the food or even a sorry!

Finally we had to walk out hungry, go to another restaurant and finish our lunch.
It's the worst service experience I've had after visiting over 500 restaurants and that says something about this place. Visit at your own peril.

Never judge a Book by its cover. U move from narrow lanes to this very warm place. The interiors are different and soothing. The food is just Wow and very authentic. It’s a nice welcome change from the finger food restaurants. The staff is very warm and a special thanks to the old waiter who took care of us. He was very polite and warm and ever smiling. It’s a must visit fr all the food lovers.

The ambience was really peaceful. And the menu has everything in Tibetian and Nepali cuisine. Taste was really good and the quantity is also good. It’s worth your money. Service is also good. Was afraid to try it but the experience was good. Definitely a must try place.

Had heard a lot about this place and hence decided to give it a try. Located in a little obscure locality, you would have to traverse the bylanes to get here. The ambience is very quiet and soothing and there weren't a lot of people on a Sunday for lunch. The food however was a little disappointing. I had expected more from the place and after reading the reviews. We ordered a Kathmandu Chilli momo, Mok Thuk, Lhasa mixed fried rice and Himalayan mutton curry and sadly none of the items were great. I would say the taste was very average. The mutton was so uncooked we couldn't chew a piece, however on mentioning it to the waiters, they waived it off the bill. The fried rice was good. It was the only item I liked. The good thing is that the prices are very very cheap. Can give it a try for the cheap prices

Walking in old and not so appealing part of city, you would encounter this well lit, clean, posh hotel. I loved it's Tibetan style ambiance. Restaurant has artistic decor, it takes you to different place altogether.
Menu is bit limited but is delicious. We tried Thukpa and chicken momo. While Thukpa was good, chicken momos were simply amazing.
Restaurant has most courteous server who would give excellent suggestion.
All in all.. worth 5 stars!

Having visited many lesser known joints in Bangalore to check out places that are known for serving Thukpa and momos, I ventured out to Utse one fine day for dinner with a friend. The minute we stepped in, the place gave out calm and peaceful vibes with a holy chant being played in the background.
Quick glance at the menu and I was sold right there, they've got almost everything about Himalayan food under one roof with sections letting you choose between momos, soup meals, starters like Sukuti, Tempura rolls, baos etc. I've visited this place twice now and enjoyed my Thukpa to the fullest, it did have a lot of oil but that can be controlled if you let them know about it when placing the order.
The momo platter is a must order if you're a group as you get assortment of momos from their elaborate list of options to choose from. The combination of Chilli garlic fried rice with Himalayan devil's curry is to die for, a delightful preparation that's got good amounts of spices in it.

Another must have at Utse is the Tibetan Yak Butter Tea that's got a bit of salty tinge to it but has pleasant taste to it.

Tastefully decorated and clean..very polite and hospitable hosts..very authentic Nepali thali..although missed the “raya ko saag” which is a must have in Nepali food..although the “moola ko achar” kind of made up for it..the momos were juicy and delectable..in short..a must visit for anyone craving authentic ghar ko Nepali khana..👍👍

Awesome service and yummy food. Very courteous and homely staff. Must visit. Must try the Everest Thali. Very accommodating service. Well done to Utse

Discovered this place while surfing on zomate and had it in mind. Finally ordered for Chicken momos from here based on the reviews and recommendation - They were horrible!! Minimal / no filling in the momos, super thick maida skin, rubbery to bite into! Def not trying any more than what I ordered today!!

Hidden gem. Ordered the Tibetian thali. First came the soup, simply delicious. I generally don't like soups but this was soo good that I wanted lick the bowl clean. Then came the main course of momos, rice and gravies. Everything was heavenly. The taste is genuine and don't expect Indian style spices in the curries.

A beautiful place hidden in Bangalore central!! Loved the ambience.. so much positive vibes in there.. the food here is mostly tibetian, Himalayan n Nepali cuisines alongwith lil bit of Chinese. Tried their momos, thenthuk, Himalayan masala tea and butter tea.. totally in love with the food served here! Can't wait to try other food here. The staffs are humble and accommodative..

Selected Utse Kitchen to feed our Tibetan food cravings on a Sunday evening. This place is a hidden gem near commercial Street. They serve amazinggg Tibetan food.

Service 5/5 : Two cute uncle and aunty were serving us.
Ambience 5/5: The whole place very tastefully done and you don't feel like you are in Bangalore at all.
Food 5/5: We ordered Kathmandu chilli chicken momo's, paneer steam momo's, veg thupka, fresh lime soda and honey and lemon tea. Everything was fantastic and the bill was just 600 Rs.

Having stayed in Dehradun for quite some time, we crave for that kind of Tibetan food here and are very happy we have found a place in blr which we would very frequently visit.

Such a wonderful place. The interiors are done so simply yet cozy.

As for the food, I am very familiar with traditional Nepalese and Tibetan cuisine. This place took me back to a traditional home in Nepal.

The Everest Thali and the Nepalese thali are a must try. Every element has a simple flavour and a rich texture of its own, yet they blend in harmoniously.

The Jhol momos are very well done. Soupy and dripping with flavour, one must give this traditional dish a try too. Ofcourse the set momo platter is also a good place to start if this is your first time

I like restaurants that do it simple but do it well. Utse turned out to be one of them. I'll be back to try other items from their menu. For now I am happy and satiated as I write the above.

One would be surprised to find such a tastefully done restaurant in one of the busy lanes beside commercial street. The speciality of the restaurant is Nepali and Tibetan cuisines🍴😊

Ambience - 5
The place has a beautifully done Tibetan decor, and compliments well with the food served. They also have lodging facility above the restaurant, which the staff was happy to show on request. I was impressed, as how each room had a unique decor and very well maintained.

Food - 4.5
This place was a solace to my craving for my regional food and I savoured to my hearts content''katti mittho khana'' -in. Nepali means, the food was very tasty. For those who love spicy food, for a change you can experiment your taste buds here. I would not say the food is bland, but rather it was served the way an authentic Nepali food would taste. We ordered safale, steamed momos and Nepali veg/non veg thali. Oh and yes to my delight the Nepali thali was served in brass plates.

Value for money - 4
The taste, quality and staff hospitality truely justifies the price
I'm Nepali and you bet my tastes buds knows the taste of Nepali cusine . Nepali food is my comfort food and whenever I miss home I run to utse kitchen . The Nepali thali is authentic and has the flavours a Nepali thali must have . There aludum is yummy . Only thing I would change is the jhol momo the jhol should be more spicy and hot .

Ordered a non-veg combo of egg noodles, chicken gravy and soup. At the price of less than Rs.200/- the quantity was too good, though i couldn't find a proper peice of chicken in the gravy (4-5 small shreds). But, taste was quite good.

A cosy little North Eastern food joint located in the most unexpected bylanes of commercial Street. After a tiring shopping session, was just really looking for places where we can sit and eat, barring the fast food joints, and Zomato showed up this!

Ambiance:
Interesting decor with lots of colours and the place has a relaxed feel to it. Commercial needs a cafe like this in terms of ambiance! Buddhist chants were being played (if I'm not wrong) and the place is adorned with beautiful pictures and regional decor elements. The place also has a very earthy and homely feel to it.

Food:
Food was average. While the quantity of chicken steamed momos is really good, could have done with some more chicken filling!
The mixed Hakka noodles was decent, but should include prawn/egg etc. There were no fish preparations available. The Phuket chilli chicken was quite delicious. The chicken was slightly crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The cashew in the sauce added to the taste and went well with the noodles.

Service:
The staff is very polite. The prices are also reasonable.

I had ordered for Himalayan veg soup and minced chicken salad. While the soup was decent, there were hardly four spoons of the salad! While the salad tasted nice, the quantity was extremely disappointing. I absolutely love the food at Utse when I dine in, but every time I order from here, they find new ways to be disappoint me.
Djentman001
quantity too less

I've ordered this twice in hopes of tasting the advertised Chocolate Momos - but nothing comes along.

Quaint little place tucked away from the maddening hustle on Commercial street.

Serve the best momos in town. Loved the spring rolls as well.
The Tibetan thali was a bit of a let down. It looks great but isn't as great on taste.

Nice ambience. Friendly and courteous staff.

Overall, a great place!
Mohammed Younus (MYFoodMemoir)
Definitely the most unexpected and delightful experience for Tebatien and Nepali cusine. The location and this place might be a mismatch, but thats how I was surprised to see a place like that. In all honesty I love the Nepali Thakali, gave it a try and found it to be authentic in presentation but not in taste, and I couldn't blame them for it. As all the ingredients are sourced locally. I also loved the Momos and the tebitian meals.
I am definitely visiting this place again and again. You Give it a try too
Nagsharan
Very promising it looked with previous reviews! Ordered the chicken momos and the Thai red curry chicken.the momos were jus about okay and not great in taste.the Thai curry was extremely oily and had a pungent coconut oil smell to it and tasted awful! Thai curry should be cooked with coconut milk and not coconut oil if this is the point the restaurant needs to learn.horrible first experience!

On a Saturday afternoon, I went to this place ,with a lot of hunger and anxiety. I was really not sure how this place will be but seeing their traditional nepali cuisine i thought of giving it a try.
So there I was.
Started with their butter tea and some starters.
Congee crispy lamb, chicken momo.
Then in main course we ordered two fried rices and one chickem and black pepper lamb dish
The chicken was lemon and ginger chicken.
All the items were really nice and tasty. Quantity wise i am very happy and also service wise there is an uncle who is old but will take care of you like your parent.
In dessert we had some chocolate spring roll and that was just the cherry on top.
All in all this place really impressed me.
Vedprakash Jnaneswar
We ordered Thai Red Curry, Paneer Psheling and Chilli Paneer. The chilli paneer was pretty bad with almost rubber like texture. The curries were better relatively.

We had steamed Momos for starters, Thupka - huge qty and very nice. Fried rice and chicken for main course. Dharsaan for dessert. Food was fresh and tasty. Ambiance very thoughtfully done. Overall a great experience.
Over of the very few Tibetian cuisine restaurant in Bangalore. Food is definitely one of it's keep selling point with its warm and welcoming ambience being the other. Service is good and the menu is quite elaborate to choose from. What makes it stand out is the pricing and the portion size. Having established that the food here tastes great, they are quite generous with their portions of serves and quite reasonable at INR 600 for two. However, as the restaurant as its located a little distance off commercial Street on a rather crowded street and the omission of valets could find parking a challenge.
Do try their Katmandu Chilli Momo, Chicken

The food is good but the quantity of gravy was too little for the amount of rice served.

The approach road is little dirty ..place is pretty well decorated and rich north eastern ambience.. service takes some time ..momos are good but the accompanying chutney was bad..Everest thali is quite good and filling but taste was not that great like what I had Nepali thali in Sikkim but overall a good experience.. chicken starters are decent..worth giving a try

Took a mid shopping break at this place as we craved for some nice Asian food.
The locality is a bit disappointing and the restaurant is difficult to even search for , otherwise a good budget friendly place.

What an amazing place. The ambience took me back to the Himalayas and of course they have wonderful food at a reasonable price point.
They have a twist on the thukpa and made it much more spicy to suit the Indian pallette. Loved the momos and the thukpa and the Himalayan Thali. The Nepali masala chai was also wonderful.
I was too full to try their Tibetan tea(hopefully made with salt like the original) so will be back to try more. Great place! Would love to meet the owners to have a word with thrm. Cheers :)

This place has such authentic Tibetan food. Everything we ordered was delicious and the quantity was sufficient as well. The only thing that can be improved is the steward's knowledge. They weren't able to suggest us or don't know the ingredients in a dish.

We had egg thukpa, chilli coriander soup, talumein soup, lhasa mixed fried rice, hakka noodles, thai basil and some desserts. Everything was yumm and we had a great time.
Just Hungry 😋
Liked this place very much ... great fusion of Nepal & Tibet culture not only in food but also in decoration..
About food we ordered mok-thuk (ok ok but salt was less and was not like authentic one) Saigon chicken ( nice but not for the people who like only deep fried chicken) Chilli garlic noodles (not wat I expected) and last Chocolate Spring roll was awesome must try(specially chocolate lover)

Overall the the experience was good but food quality can be improved..😊

I HAVE ORDERED SZECHUAN FRIED RICE ON 30/07/2018. THE FOOD WAS NOT AT ALL GOOD . TOO MUCH OIL AND NOT BOILED PROPERLY . TASTELESS FOOD. THE OIL SEEMS LIKE THE EXPIRED ONE THE SMELL OF THE OIL WAS NOT SO GOOD.
PACKING WAS SO BAD AND THE OIL LEAKED FROM THE PACK AND THE COVER WAS FULL OF OIL.
