Review Banjara Melting Pot Koramangala - Bengaluru

Madhu Bisht
Love this place. It's perfect for a cozy dinner and fine dining. Service is good and promt. Love the ambience too with M. F. Hussains paintings all around. It's a good place for family dinner, dinner with friends or just a date night. I love the Chicken stuffed with Spinach here it's a must try if you're a non vegetarian. The makahani curry was also yumm. I keep coming back here and will continue doing so.

We went to this restaurant last Wednesday for an office farewell party. We were a group of 12 people and had made prior reservation. The hotel is located on the main road opposite to Domino's pizza and can be easily found. It looks chic from the outside and very inviting. One of the good restaurants in town, food choice is good from Indian to pan Asian. The attractive front of the restaurant is not surprising - it used to be the Bengaluru home of the famous artist MF Hussein. The interior decor and furniture, interspersed with a few MFH prints is really lovely. I loved the beautiful ambience that extends all the way into the toilets - it is an excellent choice for a treat of slow and conversational fine dining. Loved the entrance! The welcoming objects at the very entrance enhanced the feel. The entire restaurant reflected a warm feel and a dining experience, fulfilling. The placement of the tables and chairs seemed to speak of some right proportion to scale. The large selection of kebabs are definitely the worth a try - they are delicious. Fairly expensive restaurant but the food was great, and the service was excellent. No live counters though. They have a nice collection of spirits too.

Not on Zomato Gold. Ambience is just amazing! Feels Royal when you get there. The recommendations are good. We tried the Mexican chicken soup. Freaking awesome! Followed with a tandoor chicken lababdaar tikka! Followed with a jalfrazi fruits. It was bad. Don't order it! Overall good! 750 INR per person

If you are in the mood for fine dining, this is the place to be. Soothing music playing in the background with a neat interiors this place has a posh look on the inside. The service here is great and the food is scrumptious. Perfect place for family dinners.

Good food, very attentive service, average beer. There was also a bottle of Jacobs Creek on the menu for the equivalent of around £40 which is pretty laughable. I had a Lamb Rogan Josh which was pleasant; veg biriyani also went down well. On a real plus the portions were huge.

Banjara Melting Point, one of the popular fine dining restaurant located at two places in Bangalore – Cunningham Road & Koramangala. The restaurant at Koramangala holds the legendary status because the place used to be the residence of late MF Hussain, one of the greatest painter from India. Restaurant at Cunningham was called only Banajara and recently been renamed to Banjara Melting Point. The owners of the place are from Mangalore, so the dishes served inside are inspired from Mangalore. But otherwise, the cuisines served include – Seafood, North Indian and Chinese.

Love this place. Lovely food, drinks and ambience. Very good service as well with clever use of technology.

The ambience, the food, the service is an experience in itself !😀 Delicious food be it in veg or non-veg.
Arijit Mazumdar
Non veg lovers, you must try crispy chicken. It's the best starter I liked. Prawns are expensive & too much spice, don't try this if you don't like South India spice.

This is specifically for people from coastal Karnataka ie Udupi, Mangalore..this is one place you should visit. Love the food..Love the place.. Great ambience...Great lovely service..Great Interiors as well...If you are thinking whether to go or not...Dont think..just go...

Ambience is good, food was not bad but for this price we were expecting something much more tasty, something interesting. 4 of us ordered many different items, only 1 was ok, rest kinda tasteless. The worst thing was the staff behaviour, they were not friendly, they tried to make us rush, tried to take away the plate even before done with the food. We planned to visit this place for months, and it was a big disappointment.
Ujjwal Pendharkar
A bit disappointed with the food but the restaurant compensated with the service. The service people were excellent, they were helpful and were very professional. Coming to the food, it was just BLAND! They had run out of chicken and that limited the menu to just a handful of dishes that we could order from. Overall an average experience.

We had here for lunch. Beautiful ambiance with awesome Food quality.. Staff was friendly too. Lasooni murgh malai tastes great. Dessert tastes heavenly.. Definitely a must visit place..

I have visited this place thrice already, that is how much I love the food and the ambience there. This time I had a special reason to be there which was my birthday dinner, and oh boy, I enjoyed every bit of it. The staff is cordial and the service is quick.

Every time I visit, I have the Neer dosa and the Chicken Ghee Roast together as a suggestion made by the staff. The chicken is always cooked to perfection and the neer dosa is surprisingly soft. I also have the Manchow Soup which never fails to tantalize my taste buds. The Fruit Punch and Virgin Pina Colada is a must try in mocktails. 👌🏻

For the main course I liked the Banjara Chicken Curry along with Butter Roti and Garlic Naan. The main course too was really good and didn’t disappoint me at all. 😃 I was too full by this time and did not get a chance to have the desserts, but would definitely visit soon and try that too. 😃

Banjara melting point was a pleasant surprise. Yes it's a little expensive and has fine dine in it's very name. I feel fine dine restaurants can get it very wrong or bland but they did a good job.

The pick of the bunch was definitely the chicken started which was stuffed with Spinach. Top notch.

The mushroom starter was good. The biriyani was absolutely top notch. The paneer Curry and mushroom Curry were above average.

The only downside was the very long service time. Despite it being the afternoon. Also, surprisingly there were no tandoor items then due to an issue with the tandoor. Quite a letdown.

Obviously on the more expensive side for sure.

Being a Mangalorean I love this place! They have a fixed buffet spread for lunch and each of the dishes taste so heavenly! Their neer dosa and moong dal halwa are to die for ❤️. Have been here twice and loved it totally.
Divya Manivannan
I love the sea food here and the flavours are rich and satisfying. Also there is a huge variety of STARTERS which is a must try...This place has the best variety of starters if you are a fan of those!! And going to the next course is a task!!
Jolly Makkar
Worst food..we ordered two things first is virgin mojo to that is too sweet & fizz is not there we feel that it’s just a wastage and second is lahasuni tandoori murg well wat to say for this it’s a double wastage, chicken is fresh no doubt but it’s uncooked they even don’t no how to cook chicken, it’s a big restro. Worst experience!!

We went on corporate lunch here on 6th March 2019. The food is okay. The service was satisfactory but the main issue arose when the bill came. For the Kinley water bottle with M.R.P 20rs, these guys have the audacity to charge 60 per bottle. On questioning about the price, the person who seemed to be the manager claims they can charge whatever amount they want and not ready to give an updated bill with water brand specified.

I am attaching the bill here proof. Please avoid this place.
This place is a home of MF Hussain converted to a restaurant. Not sure how many people know this fact. I remember from the time it was getting constructed, as I used to work right opposite to this place.. they were lot very particular about the design and architecture. No wonder it has come out so well as a unique piece.

Coming to the food, this is the second time I have visited this place, and for sure I loved it first time for which i came back. There are not too many pics you will find as I was very busy to gobble up the yummy food as they served hot 😋 . We ordered roasted bell pepper soup, lasooni makai mewa tikki, the palak kofta curry which is saffron infused (forgot the name though) and their phulkas are something to crave for.

The taste and texture of food they serve makes me feel they prepare and serve with love. They have an option o buffet and a la carte, I have taken a la carte both times. Whenever I have been here, I have seen big teams from corporates or families getting together. The place is pretty huge and the food quality ranges go the level at par with any 5 star restaurant. The taste of every dish is been perfect both times.. neither it's salty nor spicy or even any change in the texture. I like this place only cos of that and also people here are very hostile. They have a parking space that can accommodate at least 3 to 4 cars right in front of the restaurant, otherwise 2 wheelers also can be parked.

Overall, I would highly recommend this place for any meal on be it weekends or weekdays for a cosy place as a couple or family or even friends if u love some veg Indian food. Oh yes ! I say VEG cos I am a vegetarian. They serve nonveg food too..
Ritali Nayak
Went this place on a Sunday lunch. Interior was nice and happening. I liked the food over here. Food quality was good and tasty. There so many options for non veg. Bit costly but worth for money. Also they have good collection of desert. Overall we had good time here and liked the place.

The food is amazing. Really authentic south Canara food. After eating chicken ghee roast. It felt like I was actually eating chicken ghee roast in Kundapur. Highly recommend this place

Went for lunch buffet on a weekday(27.12.18). We were very dissappointed with the food that they served. Variety was very less and expected much better taste. Would love to have better desserts. Gulab jamun and ice cream were very bad.
Sandipan Barthakur
Exquisitely delightful! Beautiful ambience, striking decor. Right from the seating arrangements to the service, everything is simply perfect! The menu is full of variety - various dishes and beverages are available. Food tastes superb as well. All in all a very nice place to spend some quality time and have amazing food.
Ravi C
Amazing biryanis.. it's a must try. Loved the ambience and the music there. It's best to spend sometime after work or a weekend dinner with friends.
Shabasy
Taste is good. Service is fine. But it lacks the feeling of buffet. They want the customer to eat limited amount only it seems. The choices are less. The embarassing part was sweets, each items single pieces is served. As if they assume that we like these much sweets only.

My advice to these guys, let the buffet be a real buffet.
Sanjay Kamat
I have been here multiple times and because it's nearby ...it's been a mixed bag...first time I felt they served me stale meat ...but then they were good in subsequent visits....today was a bad one ...we ordered burnt garlic prawns...I felt the prawns needed some more cleaning ...not sure whether they were deviened cleanly...then came the butter chicken , the chicken was stale ...when we complained , they weren't apologetic ...but they replaced the stuff with paneer...because we didn't want to risk spoiling the evening further...they threw in some free desserts to cajole us...but the damage was done...a place which charges like a fine dining place must be careful in how they dish out food...very dissappointed...won't go there anymore, if I can avoid it ...

I don’t know if it was the time of the day or the tired me or it was the place but haven’t been happier!!!
The food was fingerlicking
The ambiance was soothing and calm
The service was gracious

What else would one need!!

Very calm and relaxing ambience. Food is not exceptional but staff are very polite. Nothing much to say about this experience.

Good for business lunches and dinner.
Rishi Verma
Vegetarian food is what I've experimented with. It is not as delicious as it seems from the ratings. Service is lethargic, we were 6 people.
Something which I've not expected from a place rated 4+
Dincy
Food is great but do not book this place if you want to have a lunch or dinner of over 10-12 people. Niether they have the resources or the place or the training to handle groups of people. I had been a regular customer of banjara for 2 years and thought to take my team of 20 people there. worst experience. They are not even interested in creating a comformtable space for the group to sit that is the seating arrangement. they want you to sit in whatever arrangement they have. its like they dont care. Even after booking 1 day in advance, they gave a 15 seater space to 4 people and wanted us to sit in tables of 8 seaters. upon requesting for another place, not interested in either showing or creating a place by adding separate tables. Moreover, thry have no experience of handling a group of people. Thry are only meant for small family dinners.

This place is located in the busy streets of Koramangala.I had been with my family to this place and absolutely loved this place. The interiors were classy and service was pretty excellent.The place is spread across two floors.We ordered both veg and non veg delicacies and all tasted very delicious! Overall had a wonderful satisfying experience at this place. Keep up the good work guys!
Manvendra Jain
Awesome experience and equally good food :)

I went with my friends and wife for the first time on the basis of zomato rating and review....the service was good, the staff is very courteous and food is delicious (both veg and non veg). Plus the placing the order on tablet app adds to the experience.
Ravi Chhetri
Overpriced. They'll give you service but if you are expecting wow factor in their food then you'll be disappointed. I really didn't understand why are they charging so much for their food. Other then that great ambience, great service. Still disappointed.

Being a Bangalorean, I have dined at numerous places, but the food at Banjara Melting Pot stands out. The decor is well set, and menu is well balanced for both sects of food preferences. We visited this place on a weekday for lunch. Started off with a classic cream of green soup, it was simple but really classy and soothing in taste. For starters, ‘twas Pathrani machi tikka, not exaggerating, it’s one of the best fish dishes I ever ate, melted like butter with a bite. If you like fish, this definitely is a must try.
Main course was usual roti with Makhani style veggies, and I wasn’t let down. If you are looking for a fine dining spot, Banjara Melting pot is the place to go.
Cost for two - ₹ 1370, not much compared to most overrated fine dining places with unappetising food.
Manu Kapoor
Nice place with good ambience and great food. Very pricey though. Certainly would go there again as the food is pretty good and the service is reasonably good.
Lisha
Not at all happy with the exp.Buffet is served on the table n some of the items were not served like one starter one rice dish and most of the salads were never served.Options are very very less..Doesnt give a feel of a buffet.Very average taste and laid back service.
Aravind Chandramohan
the historical value of the place- artist MF Hussain's house apart, the ambiance of the place is great. Food is very tasty. Service is very courteous. definitely must try for food connoisseurs.

Great food with a soothing ambience. Perfect place for fine dine. One of the best vegetarian food I ever had.
Food: 5/5
Ambience: 4.5/5
Service: 4.5/5
Price: 4/5
AAKASH S PUNJABI
Great food best service and value for money must try the chicken kabab & mutton kabab and the butter chicken and garlic naan. Had a great experience at this place

One of the best places for Punjabi food
The decor is great ambiance is best
Very fast service love it

This place sure has its charm with their fine dining vibes and even its name has a bit of attraction.
One of the best place to get north Indian food in the city.
Warm ambiance with polite service will makes you feel welcomed and in for treat.
Their taste is slightly on sweeter side but you can mention your specific requirement, but I liked the sweetness. We ordered simple dal makhani with breads and Veg. biryani. Breads were very nice and dal makhani was delicious. It was one of the best vegetable biryani I had in recent times.
Prices are worth the value of service and food one gets here.
Will definitely visit this place again. Date: 14th July, Dinner, 3 People, Bill - INR 2500

Order: Roasted Bell Pepper Soup, Chicken Angarey Kabab, Prawn Ghee Roast, Mutton Rogan Josh, lachcha paratha, garlic naan

Overall Rating: 3, Food: 3, Ambience: 3, Service: 4

An unplanned dinner. Were around Koramangala and decided to eat out and saw this restaurant while looking around for options.

Food

Roasted Bell Pepper was a great choice, combining flavors from Roasted Bell pepper, onion and tomato. Nice one to start the meal.

Angarey Kebabs were great in presentation, taste was OK.

Prawn ghee roast was very close to authentic flavors that one would find near udupi/mangalore. Nicely cooked decent medium sized prawns. A good dish.

Mutton Rogan Josh had too much of oil, however the taste of curry was not bad.

Lachcha parathas were ok but the garlic naan was dry.

Average Ambience
,

The Service was nice and warm

Best dishes of the day - Roasted Bell Pepper Soup and Prawn Ghee Roast

Overall probably worth a try once. Little bit on the costlier side.

Probably one of the best North Indian places in Bangalore. Everything right from the appetizers to the chicken main course and the Biriyani was amazingly delicious. Can't wait to come back here again. Delightfully soothing ambience and lip-smacking food makes this one of the best restaurants in Koramangala. The waiters are extremely polite and the prices are quite reasonable provided it's a fine dine. A 6-star experience.
Reema M
Went for a team lunch buffet and amazed with the food and the paintings. What a start with the awesome soup and then the starters specially the fish. Overall it was good, but yes options were less for buffet which you will ignore as the place and food is good here. Worth a visit, definitely coming back here.
Sayan Deb
Order a kebab with cheese and spinach stuffed and it was unique and beautifully textured. Malai kebab was good too. Coming to main course, Chicken Makhani style and Angarey style were well prepared and tasted scrumptious. A must try. Butter Garlic Naan was something different and had a great taste to it. Overall a exposure to brilliant food
Binu Chacko
I have been a regular customer from the start of this place. In my recent visits, I noticed the quality of the food has come down real bad and the menu too has become short. Somehow this place has lost its charm.
Prakash Aluru
The best Veg Biryani I ever had and they consistently maintain the taste and presentation. Worth the amount.
Lakshya Garg
Visited for team lunch and I must say a good place for such activities. Mouth watering paneer in starters and tasty main course were followed by excellent moong daal ka halwa. Just the number of options were less compared to other counter parts. But overall a must go place.
Sonal Porwal
too sweet and ordered this with a perception of dal makhani as I had spoken to somebody for details on this dish. Please make sure not to misguide us with such things
Prasul Pradeep
Food was decent. Good service even offered a discount. Veg and non veg was good except for the fish. One of the fish starter was good . The other fish was not fresh. Mutton could have been better. Mocktails was good
Sumit
As advised I am being really polite for this place . I ordered food for my family which is expected to come home after a long flight post midnight . Now this place wait for 30’minutes and cancelled the order without any intimation, I am fine if you can’t fulfill but inform within 5 minutes ...but they took their own sweet time as if I owe them. I lost time and opportunity to order from other places . I can’t feed my family from just anywhere ! And this is one of the most rude behavior I have ever seen amongst restaurant. Right now I am trying to figure out and arrange food . I wish you guys shut your shop soon as you don’t deserve to be in this business.

Visited multiple times..good food, good ambiance, courteous staff.. good place to have a peaceful dinner or lunch.. no need for reservations as in weekends it wont be that full...

Based On recommendation from a friend took a take away from this place.delightful experience. Not only was the food nicely packed the taste really brought a smile on our face. The mixed veg stuffed parantha and kofta curry was a wow experience.a tad over priced.....but worth spending the buck so long as the food is so delightful.
Aarushi
The first time I visited this place, I loved the food. Though the prices are quite high, we decided to come back because of the food's taste. However, last night's experience was quite poor. We ordered soups, out of which only Manchow was good. The seekh kababs were under cooked. The only tasty starter was hara bhara kabab.
Main course- dal makhani was not at all good, kaju masala corn was still OK. Butter garlic naan was great. For this price, their serving sizes are too small.
They also need to train their staff as this didn't seem much like a fine dining experience.
I don't think I'd like to visit them again.
Kruthika Rao
Great food! Great ambience! Nice place for a quiet lunch with family. The tikkas with yam were a delight and the Kaju-corn curry is a must try. The phulkas are well made and remind you of home.

Went for dinner with friends, place is rich, calm & fresh. Food is good, variety allows everyone to make choices. A very good dining experience. A very good option for discussions, and family time. The staff is very well trained, active and responsive. Going again for sure!
Kritika
Good service, decent food and a really nice ginger lemonade is how I remember this place. The staff is polite and attentive, however I wasn’t really blown away by the food. As always my quest for dal makhni led me to this place, but I was left disappointed with its taste and maybe that’s why only a 3 star rating. Be a little cautious of the mosquitoes here especially if you are going with your little ones. They do try to fumigate the place, but that leaves a foul smell which you don’t want while you are out for dinner.
Abhinav Prakash
I arrived for a dinner with my family. The ambiance is really amazing. The staffs are courteous. Coming to the food. I ordered below:
Lasooni Malai Chicken - There was hardly any malai and salt. It tasted bland and expensive (450/-)
Bhanno Kabab - Below par in taste. We hated it. It tasted bland and expensive (450/-)
Kadak Seekh Kabab - This was amazing. One of the best mutton kababs I have ever relished.
Kashmiri Rogan Josh - Amazing in taste
Chicken Angarey - Amazing in taste
Kashmiri Pulaoo - Amazing in taste
Chicken Biryani - Above average in taste
The kind of cost they have kept for their chicken starters is unacceptable. I will be back here only for mutton items.

1st visit and was blown away with the sea food here.

The fish was fresh and superb!!! The prawns where excellent with the right spice.

Didn’t explore too much of the restaurant, but food was excellent and therefore gave the 5 star rating.

Service was quick, prompt & very courteous staff.

I would recommend this place for sure.

Not a high end place, but food wise superb !!!
The Coffee Addict
Went to Banjara Melting pot a couple of weeks ago. While it looks pleasant from the outside, post the friendly valet guy helping you park, you notice the interiors are quite pleasant as well. The lights, earthen shades, the stone steps towards the first floor everything reeks of quality and flair.
The thin slab of slate rock used for table mat for example is innovative and elegant!

We ordered a beer and fresh lime soda, Ajwaini teeka Jhinga, Kukkad tandoori and Lamb biryani.

The beer was out of a bottle so was as usual and the fresh lime soda was well made.

The Ajwaini teeka Jhinga was brilliantly marinated prawns with very well balanced spice with an extra hint of caraway. They tasted really good.

The Kukkad Tandoori was really well done chicken tandoori. I liked the way it was presented too. A pot that still had smoke emerging when they bought the large skewers with the chicken in it. I loved the theater in fact. Tasted great again.

The lamb biryani was terrific. Fragrant rice, nicely cooked and marinated meat. In fact did justice for my love for biryanis.

We didn’t have any space in our tummies for desserts.

Service was really good. They were polite, courteous and attentive. We didn’t have to wait much and when we did, they updated from time to time on how long it would take. They recommended what we should consider (For example, the biryani was their recommendation).

At Rupees 2511, one could call it expensive. But in my opinion, the ambience of the restaurant, food and service is something that you would expect in the best of five star hotels.

And this was absolutely fine dining. In fact I was not able to figure out anything they could improve that evening. And hence the value!

This review comes super late... almost a month 🙈. Decided to go to this place for our long overdue dinner date. We had booked our table even if it was a weekday. Banjara has valet parking which takes away the most dreaded tension of finding a proper parking place and your car being towed away.
We were seated on the first floor. The ambience is of a cosy, dimly lit place. Loved the way they place the glasses tilted on the table.
The staff here is very friendly and always on their toes. There was a young manager, whose name I missed asking, suggested us the chicken dimsums off the menu. And true to his words it was heavenly. The dough was not at all hard or chewy and the filling was enough. We had red wine sangria to go with it. For main course we had butter naan and kadhai chicken. The servers are well informed and suggested us well. We winded up our dinner with warm cinnamon apple pie with vanilla ice cream. The dessert was simply yummy and not overtly sweet.
It is a nice, quiet dinner place where you can have conversations over good food. Loved it totally.

Got an invite for the Seafood Festival at Banjara Melting Pot for this Friday lunch, ambiance was totally beautiful, service was too good and the food tasted delicious. And this Seafood Festival is based on Western coastal area (Kerala, Mangalore, Goa and Mumbai). Being an ardent seafood lover, I was eagerly waiting to try the dishes, and it was completely a flavorful, aromatic and different experience for me, as I have mostly experienced only Tamil cuisine. The weather too was good, with chill breeze and rainy which was made the seafood festival more divine to me. And this Seafood Festival is happening only at Koramangala, Bangalore branch from May 16th to May 27th for both lunch and dinner.

The place has a nice ambience. Food is tasty. However, the alcohol is overpriced. None of the other bars/restaurants in the area have such high pricing on alcohol. Sadly, because of this we don't dine at Banjara anymore.
Aishwaria Ramakrishnan
Beautiful decor, cordial service, and delicious food. Their butter chicken, veg biryani, Bhindi Mirch Masala were yum. Overall, Banjara Melting Pot is a good option for dinner.

Totally misguided by the pics we went for a team lunch here. Had a bitter experience with the food menu. Buffet options were very less and the quality too sucks.. I wouldn't suggest this place from my experience as there are many better options in koramangala..

Much awaited place to dine... Finally made it for Lunch with colleagues...

Ambiance: Restaurant is made in a house owned by maestro artist M F Hussain. Beautifully done interiors and paintings enhances the elegant look of the place.

Food: It really goes by the name Banjara Melting Pot... food is truly an amazing experience we had Prawns Ghee Roast, Paneer Ghee Roast, Fish Dry, Mangaluru Fish Gassi along with Neer Dosa, Dal Makhani and Boiled Rice. It truly was an awesome coastal delight.

Service: Very friendly and welcoming staff... On the toes all the time to serve you & good food knowledge.

Price: It for sure does justice to your experience.

Recommended for food lovers and the one who wanna have a great time.

Lovely place. Ambience is good. Food is great. Staff and everyone is extremely polite. We ordered Pathrani Fish and Paneer Tikka which is extremely yummy. Well cooked. In the main course we ordered Prawn Biryani and Mutton Gassi. Both were extremely yummy. Mutton Gassi being a Manglorean dish has got rich taste of coconut. Good place to dine out.

Scrumptious food! The ajwaini teeka jhinga is a must try! Chicken angara was soft and juicy as well. Loved the ambience and courteous service. Will definitely visit again!

A perfect place for fine dine in koramangala. Loved their seafood, Chicken Ghee roast, Chicken tandoor and Mutton biriyani. People are so generous and the ambiance is very calm.

What a great place! This restaurant is present at two places in Bangalore- Cunningham Road and Koramangala. We used to visit this place when it was called Banjara, and the food back then was good. But since the time they have rebranded, something is up with these guys cause they have hit all the right buttons. Food: Good quantity and excellent quality. The taste is very Manglorean, probably cause the owners are from there. Do try out their Biryanis.
Service: Great service as well! Very courteous and helping.
Price: Banjara lost out here cause their pricing doesn't go well with everyone. It's expensive and not to everyone's liking. You can probably spend one weekend eating from here.

Apologies as this took a while. I had ordered a seafood fried rice and loved it.
The quantity was amazing, taste was good and the service was on time.
Luckily, I was really hungry to be able to finish the serving.
Kudos!

very less options in buffet for veg, 3 starters 3 gravy and 3 desserts and service was aweful, the staff was least interested in serving lunch.
went for team lunch and had a very very very bad experience.

Banjara is quite a popular restaurant in Koramangala area. It's exquisite decor attracts your eyes the moment you enter. Full marks to the ambiance and service. Loved the the warmth and aura this place exudes. Great place for cozy romantic date night. However the food felt as run of the mill and chicken curry, naan and fried rice that we ordered tasted just Okay. We might have missed on some main specialty of the place nevertheless a variety in the menu would do wonders to this place.Pricing was decent adding to a beautiful fine dining experience. Can be visited strictly for the ambiance and service.

Ambiance
Amazing. I love the look and feel of this place.
Especially, I love the lighting.

Food
We had tried only the following:
Roti
Veg Kadai
It tasted nice.

But my all time favourite is their pista and mango kulfi.
The kulfi's were neatly placed in a row of some of 4-5 small pieces. The taste was so amazing.
It had the required amount of ice and the nutty taste.

Valet parking is available which is essential.

It was a Friday when we were looking out for good options in Koramangala and landed at Banjara Melting Pot with my friends for dinner. This Bungalow which turned into a MultiCuisine restaurant now is very famous place in Koramangala and is okayish destination to try out Coastal cuisine, spicy kebabs and much more.
We first ordered some soups/ appetizers. The Tomato Dhaniya Shorba was good with hints of dhaniya. In Non-Veg appetizers, we had Chicken Angari, murg lalwari , kadak sheek kebab, chicken ghee roast, anjal pepper fry, prawn ghee roast, pomfret masala fry & Anjal Tawa fry. In Veg-Appetizers we tried the Paneer Shikanje, Paneer ghee roast , Hara subz kebab and mushroom pepper fry. All the three seafood starters we tried were lip-smackingly good. The vegetarians also loved their appetizers.
In main courses, try these people and am sure you will love it too. The Bhindi Mirch Masala went well with the Indian Breads, Every spoon of it was flavourful. The Palguni subzi is also a must try here. Do also try out the coastal specialities like Kundapur Chicken and Anjal Curry, they are very famous in the coastal cuisine. We paired the Kundapur Chicken with Ghee rice. We also had their biryani. A decent option.
After stuffing our stomach with all these lip-smacking dishes we then tried some desserts. Hmmm who doesn't love desserts and yup we saved some space too. We had the Gulab Jamun, Gajar Ka Halwa, Kulfi's , Grilled pineapple with Cinnamon dust. Me being a huge fan of Pine-apple, I loved the Grilled Pineapple with cinnamon dust. It's not just pineapple slices but caramelised pine-apple with some caramel syrup dusted with icing sugar and cinnamon dust. This was delicious and must try for desserts here.
Overall, Banjara Melting Pot is a decent option for lunch and dinners with your family and friends.

The delicacy of the place is the best in its own way. And the food the delicious. Whole staff is well behaved. Clean and tidy place. Worth to visit for a quality dinner time.

Went here with my team for lunch buffet. Disappointed after visiting this place after reading the reviews. Poor service and very less varieties for the price they charge. Basic things like curd rice, pappat, fruits were also not there.
They served 1 or 2 spoons of starters and disappeared, we had to sit staring at each other most of the time. When asked for extra starters, they took really long time that we lost interest.

Whatever minimal varieties they had was decent.. but that doesnt justify the price

From decor - ambiance - service and food, everything were flawless. Don't forget to try chicken lalwari and chicken ghee roast. All the ghee roasts they make have some magical taste. I have never tasted the way this restaurant makes. A Must try place.

Had been here in a group of 20+ for buffet lunch. Its a small place (they don't have big table to accommodate more than 8 people)

For vegetarians:
Buffet include 3 starters, taste was very average. Paneer was hard and not fresh. They were serving starters and the service was very poor had wait a loooong time between starters.

Limited items in main course but good for people who like less spicy food.
I loved Neer Dose with veg gussi (coconut base gravy for neer dosa).

For Non-Vegetarians:
3 starters (2 chicken and 1 fish) taste was good.
Main Course had Limited items.

Dessert were good.

Overall
Ambiance - 4/5
Food taste - 3.5/5
verity - 3/5
service 3/5
value for money - 3.5/5

Been here for dinner with a friend.
I must say that the place is very well set up over two floors with the bar being below and the dining area above.
I absolutely love the interiors and each and every painting on their wall just added to its really beautiful ambience.
Coming to the food, it is mainly North Indian.
We ordered a chicken starter filled with spinach and cheese which was really yum and packed with flavour.
For main course we ordered chicken lababdar which was a little too tangy and the rotis which they served it with were really small sized like that of papad size.
We had the chocolate fondant which was a really bad and looked like the fondant had been stored for a few days. Really lacked that flavour and we just couldn't eat it.
Having ordered 4 dishes, the price came upto over 2500 which was a little pricey.
And finally after my 3rd visit to this place I decided to write this review. The food in this place is never disappointing. The spices lift the Indian up in me, the “MURGH ANGARA KEBAB” is a trip to heaven and back. The perfectly tasting NEER DOSA with GASSI CURRY 🍛 made me so happy that our plans of hitting dessert bar has changed and we ordered the “ROASTED BADAM KULFI” 🐶 n that’s how I made one of the best decisions of my day 🤩 . If you visiting this place for the first time considering trying the above mentioned u will leave felling happy.
Food-5/5
Service-4/5
Ambiance-3.5/5
Price-4/5

The soft steps, that i took so carefully to ascend the stone stairs rung in, like melody to my ears. The hints of art strewn across, called me yonder to maybe hear of the stories of the hand that painted them.
I, was in the haven that "M.F. Hussain Sahab", had once called home.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
About Banjara Melting Pot :
Banjara isn't an establishment that has been unheard of. Before the boom of restaurants in every possible "nukkad" (corner), it had been a name well known and loved by all, for their marvellous coastal cuisine.
Decor & Ambiance:
The decor is a beautiful amalgam of finesse & sophistication. The paintings that are hung methodically are a mix of eclectic and beautiful. You will find the colour scheme of the restaurant to be very pleasing, perfect for a cosy meal.
The ambiance, is relaxing and calm with that diffused lighting and the warm glow.
Hospitality:
The servers are efficient and cordial.
The Grub Story :
If you presume, even before me starting, "what can be in it for a vegetarian?" Then you're wrong. I, was pleasantly surprised at the extensive options.

Palak Shorba : A very light and flavourful shorba, made with spinach. An instant warm feeling guaranteed.

Paneer ke Shikanje : The cubes of paneer are marinated and tandoored. The results are fantastic, the flavours are more earthy and you can always have another one.

Hara Bhara Kabab : The chopped & blended veggies, made into perfect round dumplings were just right. A little spicy and a lot delicious.

Mushroom Pepper Dry : The mushrooms were tossed in your typical South Indian pepper sauce with curry leaves & chillies. Great with naans.

Paneer Ghee Roast with Neer Dosa : Match made in the kitchen heaven, I may say. The paneer just transforms into the most silky and soft cubes of flavour, with the pungent aroma of Ghee & Roasted Spices slathered on. Worked like a charm with a plate of 3 Neer Dosas.
Phalguni Subzi : A brilliant innovative way to make sure that you eat your veggies and eat them with delight. The half & half combination of green & red curries married into one.

Rice variants : I'm never a rice eater, so I couldn't sample what my friends ate, but boy! They looked delish.

Desserts :
Gajar ka Halwa : The Gajar ka Halwa was done well, with the right amount of sweetness.

Kulfi : Lived upto the expectations. The Kulfis were the perfect way to end your dinner.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Verdict : Banjara Melting Pot, happens to wow me over with its signature dish "Phalguni Subzi" & their wide selection of dishes for the vegetarian & non-vegetarian sides. They specifically are well known for their heart warming coastal cuisines, where there is an extensive use of seafood.
It truly is a Melting Pot, of so many cultures here, that you will always find something for yourself.

Headed to this beautiful place with a bunch of friends for a Friday dinner. Little did I know that it will be one of most memorable dinners of my life...

1. ABOUT THE RESTAURANT-
The place was house of the most celebrated Indian painter, M.F. Hussain once. The duplex has been converted into a classy restaurant but it still houses many of his paintings, pictures, the old tree and some of his personal effects including the letter box of the house which was painted by him. The house stands out with its red brick masonry that has been preserved as a mark of respect to the legend and his art.

2. LOOK AND FEEL-
It is a Classy, elegant and sophisticated fine dining restaurant.
Soft relaxing music in background.

3. FOOD-
Herculean menu with enormous Vegetarian and Non-Vegetarian options from various cuisines.
We decided to try their new menu curated by Chef Venkat(Sous chef, Goldfinch Hotel, Bangalore).
Recommended Dishes-
Veg:
* Palak Tusli ka Shorba
* Cold Russian Salad
* Paneer ke Shikanje
* Hara Bhara Kebab
* Paneer ghee roast with Neer dose
* Dal fry
* Phalguni sabzi
* Banjara special saag
* Bhindi Mirch Masala
* Veg biryani
* Kulfi
* Gajar ka Halwa
* Moong Dal ka Halwa

Non-veg:
* Chicken Angarey
* Prawn Ghee Roast
* Anjal Tawa fry
* Pomfret masala
* Kundapur Chicken
* Butter chicken
* Bhuna Ghosht

Must try:- All Coastal cuisine delicacies and Desserts.

4. Located in the erstwhile Bengaluru home of renowned artist , MF Hussain , the Banjara Melting Pot, is a coastal and seafood cuisine venture of city-based hospitality group , that also operates Goldfinch Hotel. This make me even more nostalgic , as I had met the artist once , and took his autograph during his visit to Taj Bengal at Kolkata , long time ago.

Last week had been taxing for a couple of reasons .According to me the best way to keep the baggages and to move on is meet friends over food.

Firstly talking about the bungalow - which houses this restaurant , its an iconic one. I got to know from a friend later.

Coming to the food we started with tomato dhaniya shorba & palak-tulsi shorba, couple of salads ( garden gree salad , banjara special salad, russian salad ) followed by paneer shikanje ,paneer ghee roast , hara subz kebab , mushroom pepper fry, chicken angari , murg lalwari , kadak sheek kebab, chicken ghee roast, anjal pepper fry, prawn ghee roast , pomfret masala fry & anjal tawa fry.

The prawn ghee roast was so nice - that we felt the urge to have neer dosa along with it. A plate of neer dosa comprises of 3 & its very nicely served on plantain leaf , separated by small plantain leaves - easy to take.

Some of the starters doubled as the main course for me - hence i could just nibble on some of the other dishes which my friends had ordered , like - palguni subzi (this was unique & I have never had this before) , bhindi mirch masala & the daal tadka. The daal tadka was simple yet perfect. In non veg mains I stuck to the coastal specialities like kundapur chicken , anjali curry & ghee rice . I think , henceforth , each time I visit I know what go for now.

Among the desserts ordered ( kulfi , gulab jamun ,gajar ka halwa, moong dal halwa, grilled pineapple with cinnamon dust ) - i loved the halwas the most.

The list is huge and if you ask me - what did I like most ? whenever I visit again i shall order for all the coastal cuisines along with neer dosa & finish with the halwas.

The ambience , chef , variety of choices makes it to that list where I will always think of this place to revisit or recommend.

OUTSTANDING!!!! After a very long time have I been completely satisfied and left speechless on the quality of the restaurant, the quality of food, the service level, the humility and finally decided to check them out on home delivery and they retained their customer centric service right from taking the order on the phone to delivery with a card machine. Keep it up guys; you have true admirer - its not just me, but my entire family and mind it we are all FOODIES!!!

Well received at the gate, ambience is like some hotel room full of dinning tables. Our expectation increased like hell that we are going to get some delicious food but alas it was pathetic. Ordered Jeera rice but got Briyani rice which is full of foul smell of oil and when we enquired about it, steward was reluctant to expect but finally provided us with jeera rice which was way better than the briyani rice. Service is poor as they have kept our cuisine into different table and we are on different, every time we need to call them to serve. Once again this restaurant does not kept it promise to serve better and instead of melting pot our heart melted out in pain after eating food.
