Review Lakshmi Natraja Refreshments - Bengaluru

Jacklyn Liu
Dosas were soooo good. Out of the three I've had in India so far, this was by far the best! Super crispy with delicious chutney. The potatoes are so savory and I could eat that for days. There's a bathroom and a sink to wash your hands after eating

One of the best Dosas I've ever had. Quick service. The place is a must Visit. The approach is kinda tough but it's all worthit. The Dosa Idli here are Killer. Their lemon rice are also great.

Though it is amidst the dirty place, they have maintained clean and hygiene inside. Authentic taste and value for money.

The food was truly delicious, especially the meals, which gave me the feeling of attending a marriage function. The hospitality was exceptional.
Ankith Sundar
Going to this place for a long long time and they have never let me down. Their all time best dish is masala dose. This time we took pudi masala, pudi bath masala, mango jamoon, parota, idli and vade. Idli and vade was ok ok other than that, everything else was fantastic. We enjoyed the food completely. The only downside is that it is a super expensive place for a darshani
Srinivas Janardhan
Great food. Reminds me of those good old days ka taste. No oil only ghee which makes it healthy as most of the hotels use palm oil. The only drawback is it's location but for what it's worth I think it's worth it... Over and over again.

If your are in Chickpet surroundings for shopping or in Nagartpet. This is a go-to place. It's a little interior but easy to find. it's just next to the temple Opposite Karnataka steel house Banner. we tried Masala dosa, Chitrana, Puloa, Idly. They have all varieties of breakfast items and they only accept cash. Coming to Taste their Khali Dosa, Masala Dosa are Top notch. Their Idly's are soft and served with two kinds of chutney. Pulao was on the spicy side served with Chutney, we ended our meal with curd rice. Overall Taste is very good. Might feel a little pricy. Coming to coffee nothing special wish the Coffee serving guy would treat customers well. Sitting arrangement is little different from normal hotels

Really amazing place for dosas. I had only pudi dosa and coffee here but loved it the most. Must visit place if you are in and around Chikpete.

Nice& good, unique incredible content about pure silver utensils food preparation & serving tradition culture. It's a indescribable thing.

I wanted to have pure south Indian & I reached to this place by the suggestion of my friend & loved it. I never had so much delicious idly & pudi masala dosa before. Coconut chutney was awesome. Price is cheaper then any other . Restaurant is clean & hygiene. So much variety in menu, I wanted to other dish but my stomach was full in just 2 dishes. I recommend this. I love this. I would love to come back again & again.

Good but not the best.<br/>Although the place is in a crowded locality, there is a lot of space inside. Coming to the food, the usp was supposed to be the ghee and the dosa. Although the dosas tasted good, the aroma of the ghee was a bit lacking. The only thing I liked was the chutney-thick, spicy. One of the best chutneys I have tasted.

Lakshmi Natraja Refreshments is the place where I love to vist often when I'm there in Chikpet for shopping. Place is really small & very limited seats to occupy.<br/><br/>Lakshmi Natraja Refreshments serves authentic South Indian dishes like South Indian Breakfast, Lunch & South Indian Tiffin Dishes.<br/><br/>I highly recommend here to have Idli, Pudi Masala Dosa & Onion Utthapa if you are there for Breakfast & Dinner.<br/>Management have recently introduced Kerala Parotta. 2 pieces of Parotta served with Chana Masala & Coconut Chutney.<br/><br/>Lakshmi Natraja Refreshments is also known for their South Indian Meals which they serve only for lunch hours. I have never tried their Meals, planning to taste those too.<br/><br/>Overall<br/>When you are around Chikpet & Market area for shopping, if you are in search of good food, Lakshmi Natraja Refreshments is the best option to choose.

A hidden gem for dosas in Majestic area. One needs gmaps to find this place. Walking is the best option. They are known for their podi dosas. The place is clean and we enjoyed the dosa as well. Must visit if you are in and around Majestic
Poojajrathod28
They have the best idly in town. Idly are soft as cotton and crispy dosa. They have a variety of other things which are good i.e podi idly, podi dosa, chitranna (lemon rice)

Sri Lakshmi Nataraja Refreshment, Nagrathpet<br/><br/>Many of the age old eateries who were highly recommended by many turned out not so impressive to me. So when I heard good reviews and hype about this place, Sri Lakshmi Nataraja Refreshments on the busiest Nagrathpet road, I went without any expectation. It lies in a passage on Nagrathpet main road (It was once a main road may be, now it's even hard to find space to walk).<br/><br/>Ordered Pudi Masala Dosa and Jamoon. While dosa getting prepared I saw some happy faces of people eating dosa which got slight relief for me, so I was sure it won't be disaster but made my mind to have opinion of my one do controlled my excitement. Finally Pudi Masale arrived, the aroma of ghee on that dosa made me even more excited. There is rule which we use in film writing, of we get too excited just before having something or meeting someone then it will be failure or heart breaking scene! 😀 I wished it won't happen this time and trust me, this is one of the most amazing Pudi Masala Dosa which I have tried. Dosa is thin and crisp, it had perfect color and texture too. What elevated the taste of the dosa is the pudi (powder) used in that, it's little sweet, little spicy made every bite crave for more. Even their Gulab Jamoon scored well, it was slightly over sweetened I felt otherwise it was good too.<br/><br/>There are no tables and you have to have dosa sitting in a bench, self service and pricing is on higher side but it's worth considering the taste. Parking is a concern, don't take your car and you may get two wheeler parking only if you are blessed. In spite of all odds, this is one dosa which you shouldn't miss!<br/><br/>Price: Pudi Masala Dosa - 75/-<br/><br/>Taste: 5/5<br/>Ambiance: 2/5<br/>Service:<br/>Value For Money: 4.5/5

This place is budget friendly but serves the best south indian food ! Their bhaath dosa, podi dosa and ghee idlis are the best! I highly recommend this for the food. If you like ambience then this restaurant is not for you.

Rare diamond in the rough. This place is right in the middle of avenue road /chickpet . It's a tough task getting there but totally worth the effort. Tip go at 8 30 pm. Podi masala dosa is crisp ,soft and flavourful ,Melts in your mouth ,so good that you can easily have 2 because it's homely and not full of soda etc.idlis must be had with ghee. Better than most places. This place serves food like its an expert grandma's kitchen and I'm going back despite my anxiety for crowded narrow places.
Supriya Nayan
After shopping at chick pet someone suggested this to me for simple food. It was difficult to get the location. It is next to a goddess temple. Upama was good and mango milkshake was good with pomegranates topped. Dosa was not so good.

The place is heaven for south indian meal lovers like me. Food they serve is super reasonable, refreshing and scrumptious with all the essential components of a full meal.<br/><br/>Although, the place is difficult to find ,but you gon never regret the efforts youve put it to get there.<br/><br/>Proper 5/5 for food, ambience might upset some ostentious souls.<br/>Still for me its an overall 5/5<br/><br/>Cheap tip- you must try pomegranate and amla juice in a shop opposite to this food joint<br/><br/>
Rajat Khurana.
Love this place!<br/>LNR as they call it, has dosas made of pure ghee and that's why the price might be on a higher side when compared to other places.<br/>The Pudi dosa and idlies are the two things I love at this place!<br/>South Indian meals also available at this place.<br/><br/>Service is good. Staff does their work efficiently.<br/><br/>Surely a 5/5.

This place is located in a narrow lane in Nagarpet (Chickpet area). The food is just lip smacking delicious. The streaming idlis with chutney, podi dosa all a class apart. One of the best South Indian places in Bangalore.<br/>Only thing I didn't like was that they use disposable plates
Justin Prasad
A perfect place to begin an exploration of Nagarpet market! I have been here once and absolutely loved this place. Tucked into a narrow street at Nagarpet, this place is little difficult to notice, but the food is really delicious and healthy. The South Indian dishes are worth try. Highly recommended!

Fantastic pudi dosa... A must try. Don't look out for cushion seats nor tables. Just eat dosa... Lovely... But finding it is very hard, but worth.

Lakshmi Natraja Refreshment is located by busy streets of nagarthpete.<br/><br/>If you are a big fan of idli and dosa need to visit this.<br/>Had ordered a plate of Idli and bath dosa.<br/><br/>Bath dosa is a masala dosa with lemon rice in between the dosa, it was too tasty.<br/><br/>This place is too crowded during lunch time or the meals served here.<br/><br/>Ambience 3/5<br/>Staff 4/5<br/>Food 5/5<br/>

Lakshmi natraja refreshments near avenue road is the head stop for all South Indian cravings during the evening hours. This place is just behind a temple and a very old establishment. The place has its own varieties of flavours of South Indian cuisine. You can also relish on other food items on the avenue road food street.<br/><br/>Ambience - A decent ambience and is mostly crowded. The way to this place is inside a small narrow passage but worth it if you are a fan of South Indian food.<br/><br/>Food - I ordered the as usual my favourite ghee bath Masala dosa. The dosa is good but the taste has deteriorated since last time I visited here four years back. But the flavours are good and as I am a crazy fan of Masala dosas I find this on a good scale than excellent scale. The Masala dosa is smeared with red garlic chutney and ghee is spread all over the dosa. The aroma of the ghee from the dosa is the best. The bath Masala is filled with lemon rice which adds more flavour than the regular aloo palya.<br/><br/>Parking - The parking is very limited for four wheelers but two wheelers can get parking easily.<br/><br/>Food - 4/5<br/>Service - Self<br/>Ambiance - 3/5<br/>Price - 3/5<br/><br/>Happy fooding.<br/>#food #foodlove #foodie #foodnight #foodgasm #foodporn

Pros :<br/>Good authentic South Indian food.<br/>Quality of food and hygiene maintained. Idlies are very soft.<br/>Fast service.<br/><br/>Con :<br/>Difficult to locate the place.

It is one of the best Dosas in Banglore and my favourite 😋which is located at Nagarthpet and I have been eating dosas since 6-7 years , must give a try Ghee idli is one of the best and masala dosa 👌💯

Restaurant #3 on my best dose in Bangalore list.<br/><br/>I went there on a Sunday morning, very early, and it was not very crowded. I ordered the infamous podi masala dose. It took around 5 minutes for them to prepare and meanwhile I checked out the place, the menu also has a lunch option. For 149 I guess.<br/><br/>I got the dose with two types of chutney. The chutney tastes pretty good. But the dose..<br/><br/>Honestly one of the best dose I have ever tasted.<br/>It contains a generous amount of ghee spread beautifully on top of the dose that covers the aalugadde palya. The highlight of the dish has to be the pudi. It is absolutely wonderful and blends in excellently with the dose and the palya. It is kind of expensive. I think I paid 80 rupees.<br/><br/>But the flavour of the dose that is left on your tongue after you swallow it, is just beautiful. That day I went to Starbucks to meet a couple of friends. I didn't drink anything because I did not want the taste to leave.<br/><br/>A week later, I tried the podi bath dose and it was not that impressive to be honest.<br/><br/>Overall, that podi masala dose is one of those very few dishes that I can taste just by thinking about it. Absolutely delicious.<br/><br/>A well deserved 9/10<br/><br/>Cheers!<br/>

VFM place in Chikpete. Must eat place for the people who loves south indian breakfasts. Hygiene is the best part of the Lakshmi Natraja Refreshments.Surrounding street tiffin centres are not hygiene. <br/><br/>Famous for Dosa and Idili . Very soft and fluffy idli i ever had.Basically I m not a fan of Idilis. But here chutney also very good. Had paper plain dosa and Pudi bath Dosa.<br/><br/>Pudi Bath dosa - First time i having this dosa which have rice fillings. Difference experience for me. Try this one if you are near to Kr market or Chickpet.<br/><br/>Highly recommended place

A very small joint but very tasty food. Located in the busy area of Avenue Road..Nagarthpet is one lane.Very delicious dosas idlys and lemon rice.<br/>Their tadka is special too. Piping hot soft idlis and chutney varities are amazing too...Specially love red chutney. Lemon rice with peas in it is best...<br/>Variety of dosa are available<br/><br/>Sure visit is a must...

Ahhh, pudi masala dosa ❤️<br/>One of the best place to have crispy pudi masala dosa, I can say pudi masala dosa and bath dosa are the star dish of this place. <br/>I feel ₹75/- for pudi masala dosa is really worth it.
Sunil Nataraj
I would rank this restaurant as one among the top 5 in Bangalore for Masala Dosa. Tucked in the bylanes of Avenue Road, an awesome place for Dosa. The South Indian meals served on plantain leaf is another treat.
Latha N
I liked the crispy masala dosa.<br/><br/>They offer just a fist full of rice for rice bath.Price is definitely on the higher side
Janani
Wonderful crispy dosas, with a generous serving of podi and yummy chutney.<br/><br/>The staff behaviour is as expected in such small places - disinterested and rude.<br/><br/>The service was super quick.
Srinivas Bellamkonda
Expected a lot from this place because of the reviews. Dosa looks crisp but was soft. 75/- is too much for this Dosa and the ambiance. I didn't tried any other items.
Lavanya
One of the iconic place that serves delicious South Indian dishes. Dose and idly be the two dishes for which people just drool for. The place is open from morning 8am to late night 11pm. Pudi masala dose here is one of the best in town and I drool for them like always. Lunch meal here is pretty standard and righteous.<br/>Definitely a place to remember for its iconic taste.<br/>Must try - pudi masala dose, bath masala dose, masala dose, idly<br/>

Nested somewhere near the Dharmaraya Swamy temple, this is truly a hidden gem! <br/><br/>This place serves dosas which have some of the best textures found on a dosa. Smooth, crispy, golden brown exterior coupled with yummy, fluffy interior, the dosa is perfect.<br/><br/>We also tried the idly which was very good too.But the main highlight according to me is the excellent gulaab jamoon! It is deformed, but the taste is so good, that it keeps you wanting for more. Made with thick syrup and soft insides, this is extremely tasty.<br/><br/>Prices are pocket friendly. Overall a great breakfast experience if you choose to ignore the nasty surroundings and the hideous placement of the place.

Best place to have fluffy idli and thier lip smacking dosa. Thier Chutney is also as good as thier food. Been eating here since my childhood but never have I complained about food here. Definitely a must visit.

One of the well hidden gem of Bangalore! It is very hard to locate in the small Gallis of market so it is better to go with a person who has already been there. <br/><br/>Ambience - For a self service hotel it is spacious. There are quite a few benches on which you can sit and eat with the plates in your hand. It seemed very clean and hygienic which was a  pleasant surprise. <br/><br/>Service - The person at the cash counter is super fast, your billing will be done in a jiffy! With the bill, order has to be placed at food counter. They have more than sufficient staff at the food counter so you don't have to wait much for the food, it will arrive in a couple of minutes. <br/><br/>Food - We had Idly with butter, Pudi Masala Dose, Pudi Onion Dose. <br/><br/>A plate of Idly contained two Idly with 2 kinds of chutney - one green coconut chutney and a red tomato chutney. It does not come with butter, for that you have to order it separately. The idly was so hot that it was difficult to eat initially, it was very soft and tasty. Both the chutneys were tasty but as always red chutney was my favorite! <br/><br/>The reason Pudi Masala Dose is so famous here is because of the chutney pudi they put on the inner side of the Dose instead of the chilli garlic chutney, it was mouth-watering! As usual there was Aloo Palya inside the Dose and was served with the same 2 kinds of chutney. The Dose was cooked perfectly, it was crisp yet so soft at the same time. <br/><br/>In Pudi Onion Dose, the same chutney pudi is smeared all over the Onion Dose and it is also served with 2 chutney. There was no space left in my stomach to eat it but my friends thoroughly relished it. <br/><br/>My friend asked for Oggarane for the chutney in all the dishes which is free of cost so after your dish is ready they sprinkle a generous amount of Oggarane on the chutney. <br/><br/>Don't expect this place to be pocket friendly like other Darshinis, we odered 2 plates of Idly, 3 plates of Pudi Masala Dose and 2 plates of Pudi Onion Dose and our bill was around Rs.600. One  spoon of butter costs Rs.30 so you can imagine the prices of other dishes. But each and every dish is totally worth its cost<br/>We had been here on a Friday night around 9.30 and the place was empty. But please be careful about the time time you visit, I have heard that it can get really crowded. <br/><br/>Their Bath Masala Dose is also very famous, I need to try that sometime!

Not sure why this place isn't in the list of legendary restaurant here on Zomato - it is legendary in it's own right to people who live in the city area of have been in Blore for long.<br/><br/>Better known as 'Pandus' - what is now located in a bylane in Chikpet, it was earlier just a roadside stall - and obviously he made a lot of money and moved up the chain and opened a proper outlet.<br/><br/>The USP is apparently the Pudi Masala Dosa which was rich in ghee and tasted great but what I really liked was the Idly which was spongy and soft and the chutney which was super tasty and mildly spicy.<br/><br/>Strongly recommend this place if you don't have any qualms sir the locality and the general cleanliness (although the outlet itself is clean)<br/><br/>

Had been here yesterday. I was out shopping in nagarathpet and as soon as I finished shopping hunger pangs struck and I was recommended this place by a friend. To be on safer side I chose my favourite dish masala dosa. But to my surprise it was totally delicious. The brown colour and the crisp texture made it appear like a dream and with the gooey potato filling inside it, it was accompanied by coconut chutney. I would rate this dish a 9/10 as this is the best masala dosa I've had! I also tried out the rava dosa. This was like something I had never had before. This place is also famous for the rice bath dosa. All in all it's a must visit place especially if u love South Indian food. Also it's every shoppers delight.

Simple homely South Indian food !!! <br/><br/>Located in the busy streets of avenue road, the place is very closely located to raja market, in avenue road.<br/><br/>Amidst the buzz and the crowded streets of avenue road lies this calm place which will welcome you with aromatic smells of ghee and dosas.<br/><br/>This place has been one of my all time favorite and love their masala dosas and bath masala dosas.<br/><br/>Baath masala dosa is a masala dosa with lemon rice kept along with potato mash...<br/><br/><br/>Must try if you are around .<br/><br/><br/>Hygenic , clean, and amazing place for lunch and breakfast
Naveen
the taste of the dosa is good but very poor in service. one dosa costs 75₹ and the way the treat the customer is so horrible.makes you feel that you are eating in a road side shop..infact atleast over there they treat you well.<br/><br/>NOT WORTH THE MONEY

Yum Yum Yum!One of the hidden places in Bengaluru!<br/>Laxmi Natraj Refreshments on Nagratpet. The dry Pudi is like a magic in every thing! They are sold loose too.<br/><br/>On my table: Rice idly with Chutney pudi & Coconut Chutney,Masala Dosa & Filter Coffee
Preetam Gupta
One word review - Delicio-tastic!!<br/><br/>To find this place, you will have to navigate through the shanty roads of nagrathpet. One good thing is that anybody in the vicinity can guide you to this place.<br/><br/>Once you arrive, you will be welcomed with delicious smell of butter and ghee. The course generally starts with idli and chutney. If you have a more welcoming appetite, then they add a spoon full of ghee (spoon here is as big as a coffee tumbler). Then you can treat yourself for a dosa. There are many varieties of them. But my personal favourite is Pudi dosa. Peace be upon him who created this magic pie..<br/><br/>This place is open till 1am. So if you have filled your senses with beer till late into night, you can fill your heart here..

Food is amazing but the attitude is sick. While it is VFM. They throw tantrums and refuse if you ask for a spoon. Well while they can always charge extra. Avoid a greying obese server called “pandit” he makes you feel like you ate a meal for free.

Lakshmi Nataraja Refreshments is located in a very small lane and hard spot if you aren't guided by someone who knows the place. The travel is worth every bite of the Pudi Masala Dosa which is their specialty. I also tried tried the Pudi Bath Masala Dosa, roasted with ghee, which includes RiceBath on the inside which is a bit unconventional for a Dosa but tastes amazing. The Pudi they use is available for sale. They also serve other items like Idli, Poori, vada, Rava Dosa and coffee - A proper South Indian eatery.

Best dosa which I have ever had. Nothing comes even close. Ghee idli and pudi bhat masala dosa are a must try. Whenever I come to Bangalore, I definitely visit this place.<br/><br/>Any South Indian food lover is bound to fall in love with Lakshmi Nataraj Refreshments. While taking a casual stroll down chikpet and asking around for a good place to eat dosa, we came across Lakshmi Natraj Hotel, an unassuming place tucked away in a sub galli off Nagarathapet Main Road, behind Lakshmi Natraja temple. The masala dosa served here competes with the BEST out there: Perfectly crisp, soft and adequately buttery inside (homemade white butter, obviously). It was simply exquisite! And the chutneys served with the dosa, only enhance that plate of edible gold (as if that were possible). They also serve rava dosa, which in our opinion, is absolutely unmatched in texture and taste! Trust.

Visited this place on 15th Aug. The place is located on the busy streets of Chickpet and is really tough to find and the more tough job is to find a parking spot even for a two wheeler.<br/>But, all the efforts you put in to reach this place will be well accounted for when you taste the food here.<br/>I tried the Pudi Masala dosa, Paper pudi Masala Dosa and Pudi Batj Masala dosa. The addition of pudi masala makes their taste completely different from the entire bangalore. The dosas are roasted on a low flame and Nandini Ghee is used to roast the dosa. The aloo masala filling has kajoo in it. The roast is beyond perfect. The dosas are served with two chutneys which makes it even better. A must try place for all the dosa lovers.<br/> The only negative thing about this place is that they serve in peper plate which makes it tough to manage<br/><br/>

Had a masala dosa here the amount of ghee poured gives the dosa the best taste.. this place is located in dingy road would be difficult to locate this place.

I've been going to this place since i was a little kid . They have renovated it to a bigger place. The food is exactly the same . The taste has not changed one bit over the years . They make their dosas' with only pure nandini ghee . The dosas are thin and very delicious. The idlys are soft and fluffy. They serve it with 2 different chutnies , I have had the plain dosa , masala dosa , their specials : pudi plain , pudi masala dosa , pudi bath to name a few . The entrance is through a narrow passage it might be hard to find . The food is really really tasty and the place is always packed with people. The seating might be a little uncomfortable because they only have long chairs to sit on and no tables. It is worth a visit

Located on inside lanes; Clean and Good; but slightly pricey. They could have avoided paper plates, and also could have had a small table to keep your plate.

Simply the best! We never expected to find such an amazing place ! Fresh and tasty! Good value for money!!! This is a hidden gem. Visited this place based on recommendations from my foodie friends! Simply awesome!!!

This place is such a delight. Crispy perfectly cooked dosas with the best chutney's (poodi dosa being my favourite). Their idlies are super soft and delectable. They have specific timmings for the dosas and idly's though, so call them and ask before you go. Fair warning: dosas are soaked with ghee and the chutney's are super spicy, so if you're not looking for an indulgent meal, this isn't the place for you.

I had Pudi Masala Dosa. Amazing test. Probably one of best in Bangalore. Place is clean. Bit difficult to find but google map shows correct location.<br/>Must visit if you love south Indian food.<br/>

We visited this food servery as it was highly recommended and the food did not disappoint. Was my first experience of masala dosa and was an absolute local delicacy, if I come back to Bangalore I will be returning for a second helping

A search for a breakfast ended up taking us to this place. Never did we expect lip smacking food in a joint where the entrance was as shady as this could get.<br/><br/>We had the plain dosa, masala Dosa and it was one of the most tastiest dosa's I've had. <br/><br/>Certainly a hidden joint with a lot on store.

Even though I visit chikpet very often I wasn't aware of this place still last 6months . After roaming around in chikpet if you searching for complete meal place then this is it. They do serve southindian dishes like dosa idly .. but I would prefer meals .<br/>They will serve the meal on banana leaf and use plastic free equipments . Thought is eco friendly. <br/>Coming to the food they serve u salt, pickle, salad, padad, two types of sides dishes for Puri or chapathi ( they do serve akki roti and ragi rotti ) u could choose which one you want . Since I visited past 3 . I couldn't get roti . <br/>Then they give u hot rice with ghee , sambar and rasam ll b served while eating. Required amount of curd is served as well. <br/>Coming to the sweet my fav dal obbatu is served hot with ghee .. must try that .. they have option in sweet like jamoon , kheer as well .. I heard only on Mondays they serve obbatu . Hence u can see it on right corner my pic . I was happy with the quantity and taste . The meal price is 130rs which is moderate . <br/>The place is little hard to find if u are a 1st timer hence I have put the route map . The way to hotel might b dirty but the restaurant is clean .
Clifford
Difficult to find since the entrance is via a narrow bylane but once you locate it you're in dosa heaven. The locality is really dirty and crowded but the restaurant is super clean. Have eaten multiple times and recommend it when in Bangalore.

Hard to find but worth the search :p. Amazing dosa, filled with ghee. Pudi dosa, rice bath and masala dosa are must try. I also tried Paper masala. Everything is amazing. RECOMMENDED

The place is pretty hard to find, it's in one of those narrow gallis, if you don't ask locals you wouldn't even know it's right next to you. So take help of the locals to pinpoint the exact location.<br/><br/>The place is very hygienic is what I felt, service was quick too (self service).<br/>The food was served almost immediately, piping hot Crispy Masala Dosa and butter soft idlies and the chutney they give is the best, green chutney had primary flavor of fresh coconut and coriander. Red Chutney is what caught my attention, primary flavors of tomatoes, coarsely ground dried red chilli just give the exact amount of "kick". The major flavors in red chutney were tangy, yummmm. Masala Dosa has potato filling (palya) which was subtly spiced to perfection. No words about Bayer's Coffee.<br/>The prices are on higher side but totally worth it, for the taste this place has to offer. <br/>All in all, definitely revisiting..!!<br/><br/><br/><br/>Ambience : 4/5.<br/>Taste: 5/5.<br/>Service: 4/5.<br/>Quality: 4/5.

This has to be one of my top favourites when it comes to south indian food! The puddi dosa here is to die for (no kidding) ! The idlis are freshly made and so soft that they literally melt in your mouth. <br/>Although they are situated in the busy and crowded streets of chickpet, their restaurant is very clean and well spaced. :) <br/>Must visit for people who truly love good yummy south indian food.

Very tasty and killing Dosas..!! Seating is very simple and and in the very much inside galli in Nagarath pete..!! Lovely food..!! Definitely cheaper options available on the main road but ds place has its own delicacy..!! Mango Jamun is the speciality here and a must try..!!

Tucked away in the busy city market area, This place is a heaven for south Indian breakfast... The pudi masala tastes the best here, prepared with generous amount of ghee.<br/>The tangy pudi and ghee in the dosa would make you feel that the potato stuffing was just served for formality ! That good the combination is... <br/>The idly vada is another classic here... The vada would leave you extremely satisfied and you would notice that it wouldn't have much of oil .  <br/>Must visit :)<br/> <br/><br/>P.S : It would be little tough for first timers to locate the place. Asking any one around would certainly help as this place is highly popular.

Went in search of this outlet in Nagarathpet, it's inside the galli from the main road. <br/>This is an ordinary outlet according to me. Gosh the rates!! 😯 60 bucks for a masala dosa!! Way too costly, taaza thindi gives 3 even better masala dosa at the same rate! Idly was not boiled properly! But chutney was really tasty! <br/>We found a roadside stall guy on the main road almost having the same taste, so nothing special about this outlet.

Tired after shopping? And feeling damn hungry? This is the best place to fill your tummies. You must try a plate of idly here.<br/>Taste- 10/10<br/>Value for money- 8/10

Lakshmi natraja hotel, a hidden food joint locates near to avenue road Bangalore.<br/><br/>This hotel is bit inside from main road and it’s near to raja market or Ganesh temple.<br/><br/>You ask any shop person they will easily guide you to this food.<br/><br/>I have visited this hotel many times and visiting from part 7+ years. <br/><br/>And recently they renovated, improved their interiors along with loading facility.<br/><br/>They serve only south Indian dishes and have option for both service and self-service.<br/><br/>I have visited during lunch and dinner time and tried their lunch meal and <br/><br/>idli , pudi masala dosa, bath masala dosa,<br/><br/>Idli will be served hot with two types of chutney. There is no place in Bangalore like this one! They serve standard menu and believe me, the food is too good. And, very reasonably priced. I tried Masala Dosa, veg pulav and lemon rice. This is the best dosa and rice, i have had in Bangalore till now. Totally worth, spending 10 minutes to search this place located on S P Road , in a very narrow street.<br/><br/>They maintain the place good, even though the entrance might seem a little confusing.<br/><br/>I will visit this place again.

Love the soft idly with chutney they serve here for breakfast. I don’t live around here so this must be my first and last but will visit if I happen to pass by some day. The costing too is on the lower side, real value for money. Must visit place for breakfast.
Yash Kaundilya
Good food with amazing prices! This place is one of those where you don't have to look at the right side of the menu XD! Jokes apart, this place is old and one of those kind of restaurants where you pay only for food and not ambience and all.

Idly with butter, pudi dosa and rice bath are amazing in this hidden gem of an eatery! I discovered a unique delicacy called "mango jamoon" here. It's basically gulab jamoon dunked in "seekarane" or "aam ras". The combination is mouth watering and makes you crave more! The chutneys are very yummy and serve to augment the taste of dishes very well. Even meals are available here, but the idly, dosa, rice bath are super hits!! The place remains open till 11 PM - best time to go on a Saturday to beat the crowd.

Went to this place during a 2 day visit to Bangalore. I come from a place where it is very difficult to find authentic South Indian dishes. The food here is as authentic as it can get . It is very difficult to find this place in the small streets of Majestic. The Podi Masala Dosa is a must. It is such a mouthwatering experience. Even if you do not like the smell of ghee, I bet Podi Masala won't be a disappointment. The Chutneys were very good too. The steaming hot idlis were good but not the best.

If there is a competition for best tasting Dosas in bangalore - LN refreshments definitely comes in top-5. <br/><br/>Its closer to Avenue road and Nagarathpet junction. If you are going for first time, you may need local help to locate. Its right behind the temple.<br/><br/>Podi masala dosas you get here are just heavenly. Great combination of podi + white and red chutney makes the crispy dosas lip-smackingly good.<br/><br/>Onion Dosas are pretty good too. You can also try the Idlis here - they just melt in your mouth. Ask him to add little extra butter.<br/><br/>Its a little higher priced than other places, but the taste makes it worth it. You can also get the podi parcelled. Parking is a bit of a problem here.

Ambiance - It is a large space with good seating arrangement. But, the way to the restaurant is a grid in itself.Located in some really narrow street on S P Road.I had been taken to this place by a friend who is a regular visitor. There is no way anybody can find this place on their own.<br/><br/>Service -  As this place is always crowded, the staff are really fast and know how to get their job done.<br/><br/>Price - All the items in the menu are very highly-priced.Unreasonable is the word!<br/>Who charges Rs.30 for a spoon of extra ghee/butter ? The price of the pudi is almost the price of the dosa!<br/>I wasn't even happy with the size of the dosas. They aren't in proportion to the price!<br/><br/>Taste - <br/><br/>I tried :<br/><br/>Pudi Masala Dosa - Must try!! Crisp dosa with pudi is a deadly combination.<br/>Onion pudi dosa - Good<br/>Butter idly - Good<br/>Mango jamoon - Can give it a pass! The mango syrup an the jamoon do not blend well.

in the busy streets of avenue road cross, where you can't stand a minute still, finding this food joint is quite difficult. It's next to chamundi temple, galli. Clean restaurant , yummy pudi masala dosa, idlyserved with 2 types of chutney. It's delicious. Price is bit higher but when dosa enters mouth price we forget. It's too good. The style of here is there is no table, we have to sit on a steel bench and eat. Idly is soft , it's good. In the lunch time meals is available , but I have not tried it, shop keepers around here were saying it is good itseems. I will try and update it.

Visited this place today. It was damn crowded even at 10 PM. Ordered Idly and Podi Masala Dosa. Idly was fluffy with 2 types of Chutney. Podi Masala Dosa was very crispy and tasty too. But was disappointed with the size and price of the dosa. Felt it's costly. Otherwise it's a good place to try.

Tucked away in a narrow galli at chikpet, this restaurant was surely a great find. Spic and span with some unique signage boards (do take a look) this place offers one of the best dosas in bengalooru. Do try their pulav dosa which has pulav as a filing in the dosa! The pudi masala dosa was super tasty too. Difficult to stop with just one dosa here..

I didn't expect a really clean and nice place where we feel to have food with confidence <br/>Ambience 4/5<br/>Food 5/5<br/>Should try podi bath dosa<br/>Service 5/5<br/>This is a great place for all who shopes through the streets of chickpet.<br/>Recommended<br/>

You gotto visit this place if you are in bengaluru.. The best of crispy amd delicious dosas and idlis are available here.. This place is a delight to your taste buds.. 😍
Vinay K
You have to ask around a little to find this place but its all worth it. Pudi masala dosa, Chitranna masala dosa and many varieties of dosa available here. Chitranna and Jamoon was tasty and this place is a must try for anyone who loves dosa and chitranna.
Vinay Nagaraju (WOMP: Whats On My Plate)
Pudi Dosa and Idli... Have them here and you will forget the rest of the places in Bangalore for dosa. The dishes are cooked in Ghee... You will witness when you see them cooking/serving. Place is always crowded but you won't regret the hassle. Parking is HUGE problem to get here on your own. In the end it's all worth it. If you haven't already... TRY IT!
Giridharan Manivannan
Amazing place! Tried the Podi masala dosa. Dripping with ghee, was served with coconut chutney. The crunch was just too good. Wiped down with a nice hot filter coffee. Perfect.
Sreeram Iyer
Great dosas but the service is bad.. The owner started yelling at us for using more than one tissues per person. Very strange and absolutely rude. Go for the food, avoid conversations.

This place is like , morning - afternoon- night <br/>Here the idly are too good especially with too spoons of ghee n podi , n the dosa's are crispy, here you should try Rice special dosa it's too good .
Udayam Kumar Singh
It's a bit difficult place to find. <br/>The food is good. It's clean. But they need to do something for the sitting arrangement. <br/>Limited menu but worth a try.<br/>Don't forget to have coffee.

On a booring Sunday, I was walking near Avenue road and Zomato suggested this restaurant (Z4.5), so I kept walking for this. <br/>For once I thought there is some issue and there cannot be a nice restaurant in this shady location, but I was wrong.<br/>I tried Masala Dosa which was slightly costly but very tasty. Then we took Lemon rice, that too 2 plates each as it was so yummm.<br/>Will definitely visit this place when ever I am in that part of the city.
Rishabh
This place is again a wow <br/>Amazing South Indian meals <br/>And the idly dosa rice is jus fantastic <br/>The reason I gave 4.5 is coz of the price as it's heavily over priced for South Indian dishes

Good food . must go place if you staying near Chickpet. its on very busy area , better go by walk or three wheeler . Pudi dosa , plain dosa and idly I like .
Taarakesh Sunku
One of the best place to have food when you go to city. Though it serves only south Indian stuff, the taste is just amazing. I love bath masala here. Open till 10 pm is another add to this place.

After hours of shopping at Chickpet and hunger getting the better of us, went to this place was taken back by the empty seats and thought that it will be just another darshini with average dosas but a surprise was waiting for us. Ordered paper plain dosa which immediately changed my perception, and 5 of us decided to have spl onion podi dosa. I have to admit that the ghee drenched dosa was one of the most amazing south Indian dish we ever tasted. <br/><br/>Pros: Very neat and clean place though bit tough to find. Heavenly onion podi dosas and yummy gulab jamuns.<br/>Cons: It's in a world where I will go if I am shopping in and around chickpet.

I have been coming to this place since childhood and i never get bored of eating Masala Dosa's here. One of the best dosa is bangalore, they are just bursting with flavours and you'll just wanna eat  more and more. The Idlis are melt in the mouth soft and the chutneys are a highlight. The consistency of the chutney is just perfect for the dosa and idli. I strongly recommend this place to all the south indian food lovers.

It was a lazy afternoon at office, was just checking out restaurants closeby on Zomato, when this place popped up.. Since the place was situated a kilometer away from office, decided to take a walk using google map.. This place is situated some 500 Mts from Dharmarayaswamy temple on Nagartpet main road..<br/><br/>PARKING: Nagartpet road is very narrow, even to find space for two wheeler is difficult, hence going by car is not adviced..<br/><br/>AMBIENCE: The restaurant is situated on the ground floor on a by lane.. Its quite spacious with few tables to sit.. However finding a place during peak hours will be difficult because of the crowd.. Place is clean..<br/><br/>FOOD: Tried Masala dosa and idli, which was served with coconut chutney and tomato chutney.. Masala dosa was crisp and too good..<br/><br/>SERVICE & COST: self service.. Service was quick.. Prices are reasonable.. Dishes are served on paper plates, which can be inconvenient to hold and eat if not able to find a place to sit..<br/><br/>

If ur looking to hav a masala dosa...this is the place...along with cleanliness & hygiene u r sure of getting the best quality & the tastiest masala dosa in Bangalore...don't miss this...
Shiva Hatti (Best Of Bangalore!)
Vidyarthibhavan, CTR, Janata hotel, Sidappa’s, Chikanna’s, Adigas, Benne Dosa joints, Chalukya or Samrat, the various Darshinis serving Dosas, have spoilt us for choice when it comes to good Dosas, haven’t they? Yet another place which will spoil you for choice is an eatery located deep inside old Bangalore named, Lakshmi Natraja Refreshments. Mind blowing Dosas made with pure ghee and served with some very good chutneys. Apparently, the owner started off on the streets outside and now manages this eatery which is doing very well and satisfies the cravings of many.<br/><br/>The ambience is as basic as it can get. Pay upfront and present the token at the kitchen. Once you receive your order you can use the long steel stools to dine on. Yes, there are no tables or chairs here, which might make you a tad bit uncomfortable, but once you start biting into those Dosas you will definitely forget all of that. The hygiene and cleanliness is definitely up to the mark at this place and they pretty much manage service in good time even when it is crowded.<br/><br/>The Dosas here have to be among the best in Bangalore. They literally melt away as soon as they are into your mouth. The ones with the Pudi (a kind of orangish brown dry chutney, which might be a cousin of the Gun powder Chutney) adds some kind of terrific flavor to it. Some things are best experienced and this Pudi is one of them. When Ghee and this Podi get together they create a sort of magic which is very unique and outrageously good! You would get about 10 varieties of Dosas here. The must try are Pudi Masala, Pudi Baath Dosa, Paper Pudi Masala and the Onion Dosa. The best ones for me were the Pudi Masala Dosa and the Onion Dosa. The Pudi and the Potato came in very well and were exceptional making the Dosa seem like a portion of heaven. The onion Dosa was a class apart. The crunchiness of the onions came in at the right time to enhance the taste. The baath Dosas have lemon rice inside them instead of the usual Potato stuffing. Each Dosa is provided with two kinds of chutneys, the regular coconut chutney which is light green and the other coconut chutney which is red, mostly because of the use of red Chillis and tomato. The red colored one really stood out for me as it had a good amount of Garlic.<br/><br/>This place also serves Idly, Vada, Rice baath of the day and a sweet as well. I did try the idly and it wasn’t the best I’ve had to say the least. They also serve South Indian styled plantain meals in the afternoon.

LNR as its called in short is located in busy Nagarpet road. Parking is a mess and you need to literally  figure that out before anything else.  Dont try to figure this place via car. Streets are small and as i said you need to have enough patience to find parking in these streets<br/><br/>I had high expectations with the food as i see the rating were sky high in zomato. But to be frank , it was never a 4 pointer for me once i had my food. I tried their masala vada along with Paper pudi masala dosa. Both were ok and nothing extra ordinary about it. Tomato Chutney was too sweet and it didn't go very well dosa.<br/><br/>Overall an average experience. It's not a bad place to fill your stomach up if you are around chickpet after a busy day of shopping.

I just love the Pudi Masala dosa there .. They are just too crispy, hot, spicy, tangy and delicious ..<br/>Am sure a South Indian would love it ..<br/>Not just them .. Any dosa lovers will like it :)

Awwww... Yummy podi masala dosa.. I likes the dosa bath, which is a new type of dosa I had. It is a dosa filled with rice bath... Mouth watering kesari bath.. This is Bangalore's best spot for having dosa.. Love to go very often...

Mamuli sa dikhne wala jagah in mamulpet. Thanks to one of my friends for taking me here. It was like a maze game for me to reach this place by dodging the people in the small narrow alleys of nagarthpet. The visit was worth it.<br/><br/>The place boasts of a huge fan following in and around the area. Famous for its pudi (gun powder) dosa, it really lived upto my expectations. In fact, exceeded a little when i tried the hot jamoon and super soft idlis.<br/><br/>The taste is fantastic and the aroma of ghee roasted items will leave u in awe. Will definitely visit the place for trying the other dosas and dishes.
Food For Thought
Tried idly and Podi masala dosa. Idly's were good. But i ve had better ones. The real star was the podi masala dosa drenched in Ghee. The dosa was one of the best in Bangalore. Crispy, light, flavorful dosa with an excellent masala and podi. Both the chutneys were thick and were fantastic.<br/><br/>This restaurant is pretty difficult to find as it is located in a gully in Nagarpet. They have an excellent and well maintained kitchen and hygiene is given top priority. Prices are little higher but well worth it.

A must try place for breakfast in bangalore. The idli's are so soft that you can gobble 5 of them easily. The podi masala dosa was exceptional. To sweeten the deal at the end THE Jamun!!

A for Awesome! <br/>This is probably the only one of those places that serve in the cleanest of the places in Nagarathpet. They recently moved into a bigger space.<br/>Best things to eat here:<br/>- idlies. Piping hot. To which you can add some yummy ghee, at extra cost, of course. <br/>- Pudi plain dosa. <br/>- Pudi masala dosa. <br/>- Pudi baath masala dosa. <br/><br/>The dosas here are so crispy and tasty that when you add the 'pudi' to your order, you'll be transported to heaven.

Having lived over 17 years in South India and over 7 of those in Coimbatore, I am a fan of good idly and dosa. Thought I had done it all from Madurai idly to soft "khusboo" idly's but this place has taught me that there is a fourth dimension to this humble fare.<br/><br/>Hot and wondrously fluffy the idly's looked great, till about 100 ML of pure cow ghee was poured liberally over the pair of idly. I was aghast but when I ate them, as the cliché goes, died and went to heaven.<br/><br/>The dosa was crisply made with the same liberal share of ghee and melt in mouth. The masala was also divine. Actually what's not to like? All the ingredients hit the right spot!<br/><br/>Location of this place is a national secret and am grateful to friends who took me there. Make the pilgrimage it's totally worth it.

They say when you are in Nagarathpet, all lanes lead to this more than 37 year old enterprise, hidden away in a small bylane off the main Nagarathpet main road. There's another saying that hard work can take you places & yes it's true for it's taken the owner of this place Mr. Nataraj from the footpaths of Nagarathpet to his own swanky restaurant a few years ago. The streets of Chickpet was where he started selling lemon rice & dosa on a push cart to cater to the demands of late night train commuters. In those days the dosa from here would cost just 1/- rupee. Before he ventured into the dosa business our hero, started off as chaiwala in Cubbonpet. I guess all chaiwalas tend to get lucky!<br/><br/>Today Mr.Natraj relaxes in his office while his hard working staff dole out some amazing baat dosas, masala dosas, idlis, pudi dosa, mango jamun-which is gulab jamun dipped in aamras. Being a frequent eater here, I was given the privilege of not only entering their sanctum sanctorum - their kitchen by the highly courteous & helpful staff; but also in taking photos there. Before this I had indulged in some fluffy idli's & the best kulfi in town which goes by the name of "Pohieer". Since I was really stuffed with all these, I decided to keep the podi dosa, baat rice, etc for my next visit. Remember, I had already gorged on some Carrot halwa from Sri Rama Vilasa sweets before this!!!<br/><br/>Coming to the ambiance part this place can get a 5 as it's one of the most hygienic eateries in this part of town. Step out onto the main road in the front & you will realize what I mean. The service is super-fast & the guys dole out dosas at such a fast pace that I found it difficult to click them. Will give 4 for the service due to the fact that it's a self service, but the counter service guys don't keep you hanging around for long. As for the value for money, the dosas are exorbitant for this area, but who cares a damn when the taste is just fabulous. The food from here is super tasty and I will be back soon to try their pudi dosas, etc.
