Review Mumbai Tiffin - Bengaluru

Vishal Mishra
This is one of the best places where one can find most delicious and awesome authentic food. We just loved spending time here and eating✨ We tried below dishes 1. Aloo Onion Paratha 2. Premium Methi Thali with Paneer and Rajma curry 3. Phulka Meal 4. Puri Bhaji 5. Paneer Gobhi Paratha One can get awesome service and ambience here. Do visit this place and you'll never regret.💫 This place is also known for Green Mint Chutney💯 Food : 5/5 Ambience : 5/5 Service : 5/5
Swaraj Paul
One of the classic places in HSR Layout where you can get homely food yet not compromise on flavour. I had been ordering very frequently before COVID but even post-pandemic the quality has not dropped be it a visit or an online order.
sachin wade
Always the place to have home made food feel in entire Bengaluru. Drop in anytime for healthy food ,very hygiene place and easily connected from any point in hsr
Aashish Bhatia
I had methi paneer paratha, it was the best in all over Bangalore, trust me, but downside is that the cost is high, about ₹200 for single paratha and ₹70 for tea
Sachin Jha
Good place to go for food. Cleaning is good. Seating arrangements are decent. You can also order food online.
SHANTESH HAMPANNAVAR
Neat and clean place, quick service and helpful staff. We had only aloo paratha but it was the best I have had in Bangalore. The stuffing was equally spread between the layers of paratha and thickness was equal allover. It was served with generous portion of curd and chutney. Outside seating felt nice and pleasant in the evening. Inside felt a little stuffy. But I think this is the place you go to for the tasty and good food not the ambience. I will go again soon for more.
Veena Bevinahally
A very homely comfy place, not very crowded. A right place to spend time with family. A Lovely spread of methi thali. It has 3 methi parathas + 2sabji+dal+curd+little green chutney and salad. Food is just right, flavourful, not spicy nor oily. It is accompanied with salad and curd to make a complete meal. Aloo Paratha has a sumptuous filling of aloo, it is not spicy nor harsh on your tummy. The rate seemed to be higher, however the Paratha is big so I guess it could be okk
Sandeep Nema
Good place for a quick bite as well as for a nice heavy brunch. Feels a bit expensive though, like ₹70/- is too much for tea, though it was very nice. The place is specious and with friends one can definitely have a good relaxed time here. Do try some stuff paratha or even poha, for that matter. The best thing here is that the taste is very close to homely.
Chithra Balasubramaniyam
Excellent place for vegetarian food. Such soft, hot phulkas ....we will never forget. Food quality, price,.portions..all good. Would definitely recommend this restaurant.
Aarti Iyer
Loved this place. If you are looking for a simple homemade thali then this is the place for you. We ordered two rice plate thali. It was yummy and easy on the tummy. The menu was simple but very tasty and easy on the pocket as well. Definitely visiting again 😁
Kanchan
Well it's my favorite place in Bangalore. I'm kind of addicted to their parathas. it's tasty and my life saver in Bangalore. Methi paratha and aloo paratha will the main charm here

I ordered the methi paratha and poori sabji. The packaging was really good. The quantity was pretty good for the pricing.
Definitely a good option for breakfast. Would be great if they could have beverages like tea, coffee as well.

We enjoyed the food
I ordered 2 combos from Mumbai Tiffin - Roti Curry Combo and Methi Paratha Combo.
Methi Paratha combo was delicious.
For Roti Curry Combo, it’s written in the menu that 4 Tawa Roti would be there. When I received the food, it turned out to be Fulka Roti. I was disappointed with this and I find the menu to be deceiving. Not sure what is the restaurant’s definition of Tawa Roti but considering the general understanding, what I got was Fulka Roti. This is not acceptable. So please order cautiously from Mumbai Tiffin.

One more suggestion to restaurant: You gave some Beans-Aloo mixed veg. A generally accepted subjis like Aloo ki Subji or Chhole or Gobhi-Aloo ki subji would be more acceptable by all in general. Not everyone likes Beans.

Food was delicious though.
Vijay Jagannath
Their dal rice is great. I usually ordered dal rice from here and pair it up with a starter from some other place. Has always been a great meal

Used to love poha too. But they don't serve poha with groundnuts anymore so I stopped ordering and found another good place.
Srividya Vaddadi
The food here is homely and tasty. But one has to really wait as we felt that the service was a bit slow. Paneer subji , methi paratha, thali , elachi lassi ...tasted awesome. Stuffed parathas are okay.
Gayatri Ch
The quality of food is very good which reminds of home food
Rinki
I think you guys are overly priced for the quality of food served. When you say 'veg' on the order menu and 'surprise' the customer with some random gravy without any veggies in it, and price it at 150 bucks, one might feel cheated.
Apurva Agrawal
We were sitting at the table, ready to place our order. Suddenly tiles from the roof fell at our table. There were two people walking on the roof not caring a bit about the safety of the people eating there. The management said " Laga to nahi na " . You can have the best food in the world but risking people's life cannot be tolerated at any restaurant like this.
Abhishek Shah
I ordered Jain food and they delivered non jain food. This has happened twice with me in a span of a week. They also dont pick up calls. Food is really good but pathetic service.
MOHAN C R
Average ambience, but sasta sunder and tikao food. Worth the money. Veg thali is reasonably priced. Parathas are very delicious. Would recommend with family. Parking facility not available.
Henson Raymond
The thalis will remind you of every homemade meal you've had. The style or flavour may not be something you'd eat in Mumbai, but the wholesomeness will definitely bring you back for more. Stop by for a quick lunch if you ever get a chance.
Ambience - 3.5/5, it gets noisy and crowded during lunch hoursService - 4/5, these guys are promptFood - 4.5/5

It is a duplex flat changed into a restaurant. The food is very home style with good taste. Very less varieties and choices for breakfast. You cannot get soups. Limited choices. But the taste is decent with less spices and oil. But very highly priced as per the quality and quantity. The interiors are good, peaceful and very natural.
Nikhil Deshmukh
For a simple order of 2 roti curry, 1 daal-rice and 1 paratha, it took 1 hr 40 min for the order to be delivered. My house is hardly a km away from the restaurant. The Zomato valet informed me that he was waiting at the restaurant for a long time for the food to be prepared, which I could see on the Zomato app. It is expected from the restaurant to not accept an order if the service is going to be too slow.
Sam
It is the only place I know which offers well cooked homely food. Although the taste is very repetitive it is one of those sanctuary for hungry people who need safe homely food . The quality is well maintained by the team and never disappoints on cleanliness .. I request the team for a mild change in taste without compromising your awesome standards.
Nitin Awasthi
It's supposed to be home made food. Received super spicy curry in methi paratha thali. Off late the curry choices in the daily menu have also been similar to what you get at below average restaurant rather than home style. Seems like owner is no longer bothered.
Neha Kalia
i have been there twice ir thrice as of now.. first-2 visits were okay, had methi paranthas but the cost is too much.I mean who charges this much for paranthas. In my last visit, i ordered aalo paranthas, and i regret that visit. I’m never gonna go there again. Not becz its over priced but becz i cudnt find taste there too.
Saurabh
There is a huge difference when one eats inside their restaurant and the food which they send via Zomato. The delivered food is of extremely poor quality. Zero stars. Avoid ordering.
V.rajagopal1944
The vegetable Kofta was excellent , the phulkas were your standard fair , the Methi Parotta which used to be soft and mellow , one of our favourites today was abominable . It was like Methi Pappad , hard and crispy . Please give feed back to chef not to dilute your excellent standards .
Prachi Rajpuria
What to be reviewed to a place that just doesn't justify its name. It is very overpriced as per a tiffin. The paneer Paratha didn't had paneer, tea didn't had tea leaves. Very rude staffs .
Saranga V Kashyap
Taste - 3.5

Ambiance - 3

Service - 3.5

Value for Money - 4
Menu Variety - 2.5

This is a great place if some one is looking for home cooked style food in HSR. Their combo meals of the day are a popular choice. However one can even order ala carte. They have a select few dishes that one can order separately. I usually have the Phulka Thali with rice that is served with the day's special vegetable & dal preparation. If anyone is looking for a daily lunch/dinner outside and want to avoid rich/spicy foods of typical restaurants; I definitely recommend this place.
Shishir Vikrant
Nice calm place to fill your stomach with reasonable prices :)
Vishrut Raichur
I make it a point to drive 40kms once week so that I can eat at Mumbai Tiffin, great food
Keerthana Illuru
I ordered paratha thali. I got veg subji , dal and 2 paratha. It is enough for one. Food quality and quantity is good. Healthy food.
Ravindhar Sudhir Pai
Pretty but average outlet, not much on Menu, low on variety and mostly quick bites.
Not a place for dinner.
ambience: good.
Environment: good.
Seating: nostalgic bench style
Ankit Rahman
The best mint coriander chutney you can find in bangalore.. Have that authentic mumbai essence with a touch of home cooked taste.. Absolutely love the food.. keep d good work up...
Mahendra Kumar
The place is hygiene and the food you order is perfectly served in time.. i refer to my frnds to visit this place nd have home like food.. love the service aswell
Vinaya Nyayapathi
Hi.. we ordered large bowls of methi malar mutter. the garlic content in the subzi could be reduced as it overpowers the natural taste of the subzi. The serving size was okay.
Saranyaa Balasubramanian
Food was really tasty. Place is very decent and hygienic.Homestyle food with good quantity.
Limited menu but delicious . Phulkas are very soft.Paneer paratha is a must to have.
Jain is available only in parathas and not in any other items.
Richashree
A lovely place for people who enjoy vegetarian food.Decent ambience. Tried aaloo paratha , lassi , phulka and bhindi. For people staying away from home - Do visit for "ghar ka khana " Taste.
Sumit Gupta
The food is good and close to home... The quality and hygiene looks decent. Panner prantha and aloo Parantha are the best. The service quality can be better.
Kamal Arora
Never order from this place. I was forced to pay 100% cancellation fees by this restaurant for my order. Please try some other restaurant and ignore this one.
Aditi.dubey989
Nice place its like ghar ka khana it just quantity can be more but food will remind you of you are home.
Ambience is decently good according to price you are paying.
Shreya Desai
This place serves amazing maharahtrian kinda thali. The methi parathas, aloo parathas are extremely tasty and give purely home made taste. The place is also cozy, quite qnd well maintained. Prices of dishes are a quite expensive here but worth that homemade feel each of them have!!
Yashaswi Shroff
I had bookmarked this place long ago.
Finally got a chance to come here.
I must say, I am so impressed with the food that I can't wait to go again.
The menu has such wonderful options.
You can't not like this place.
Sumukh Vishwanath(Tummy On Fire)
The place where you can have comfortable food and always depend on when ever you are hungry and want to have light food.

Cozy place located in HSR Layout where they serve maharastrian cuisine with suitable ambiance and maintaing the cleanliness well also with the comfortable seating.

They serve morning breakfast such as Kanda Poha and Poori Bhaji, where as in afternoon they serve good maharastrian lunch thalis which will be quite filling to our tummy and also feels like it is home mad.

Service is really quick and also they have friendly staff. To talk about the hospitality in particular, when we order for 4 phulkas they serve two phulkas first and the other two later and this is only because their main intention is to serve phulkas hot. So this is the level of hospitality some one will expect when they want to have quick lunch in office timings. I experienced it. Explanation of any dish will also be given.

Taste and quality of the food along with hygiene is maintained really well.

This is a pocket friendly restaurant.
Ritika
I am from Bombay for a temporary stint in Bangalore and had been in search of healthy, homely yet delicious food and this place is PERFECT. Simple but sooo good. The dal is an absolute winner.
Bhairavi Kannan
Why: this was on our try-list for quite sometime due to the positive reviews in Zomato.
Hits: quality of food, indoor plants.
Miss:
1. The service is slow, reactive and made us impatient.
2. Very very less number of food options.
Platter winner: Aloo onion paratha

SD
Service is Pathetic, I am sorry to start with such a negative sentiment, however please hear me out.

We order for Onion - Potato Paratha ( I will share food quality later), in between we requested for another one of the same as it was delivered promptly. The waitress to check what was ordered , touched the food and check what’s the staffing from our plate. This is outrageous for a service.

Even after that we never received the second order. Apart from the Ginger Tea nothing was tasty. The ambiance was better than average. Quality of food was not at all up to the mark.

Cleanliness and service was major turndown. I will not recommend this place to anyone.
Omkar Erande
dal quantity was very less than usual serving.
Shalini Singh
A place that always makes me feel happy and warm in the tummy. If you are looking for homely meals with guaranteed taste, this is the place for you!
Sudeshna Kaushik
I have been ordering from this place since a long time but never wrote about it. I have tried mostly their paranthas and poori bhaaji. My recent order was Methi Parantha and Puri Bhaji. The bhaji was the same for both the dishes. But who cares!! The food has always tasted like home cooked, not at all oily and more than enough for one person. Our sunday breakfast is mostly from here.
Jatin
Me and my team are found lunching here twice a week at least. We asked them for regular customer discount but they refused with a straight face. We did it again the next day, they still refused. Will update if they cave in.

Anyway, the food is great! They mostly have Thalis with different breads/rice combination. The food is cooked home-style, and is light on spices.

Premium Methi Thali with rice has to be my favorite (shown below)
Parikshit Menon
Excellent homely food. Worth the price! Everyone must try. Authentic Paranthas - rare to find in Bangalore. A delight for vegetarians! Run by an IIM alumnus and his wife chef.
Vivek Thakkar
The food here is amazing! Really simple, subtle and awesome taste! A little bit on the costlier side but definitely worth it. Nice place to sit and hangout with friends
Karshit Jaiswal
Though the food quality is really good and same goes for the staff and service. My rating is based upon my experience with dining at the restaurant on multiple occasions. At night, the place these days is full of mosquitoes and also stuffy to sit outside.. there are no proper Fans/Cooler for people dining in. When asked to light up a mosquito coil, an agarbatti after 20 minutes was placed behind me which literally had no effect. With such experience hardly one would want to come and dine-in no matter how good the food.
Prem Prakash
Never Disappointed with Mumbai Tiffin.. though the curries have a scope of improvement in terms of the taste I believe. Aalu Paratha and Amras is the best combo of this place.
Aman Dixit
Ate thali over there in the afternoon .It was good a bit over priced though but yes you should try it out.The Taste you get is pretty much like home made food. 3.5/5
Mani Deepa
A good option for north indian breakfast cravings. Basic, home style kanda poha. Methi paratha was good too. A simplistic menu to choose from.
I was expecting some more typical mumbai food items on the menu like vada pav, bun maska, missal etc.
Seems to be quite popular though.
The tea, however, was not good. Got the tea replaced after complaining once. But while leaving, spoke with the owner and highlighted about the tea being bad. He did not even acknowledge and was quite indifferent. I could have, otherwise give another star for food quality.
Ajay Tiwari
Nice place to have lunch and dinner.
The only issue is its over priced.

Its food quality is OK as like home cooked only.

It could have been awesome it price was reasonable.
Omkar Erande
Food and service is great. However, in terms of people who wish to order online or come and take away their food, I was a little disappointed. The restaurant does have the containers to pack everything including the delicious green chutney that they offer along with each meal and especially an important item in the paratha meals. However and in spite of having containers to pack the chutney, the owner blatantly says that they can't provide it free along with the meal and one will have to buy it separately. To me, this is ridiculous logic and is means to rip-off customers intending to take-away the food.
Bharathi Mani
If you want delicious, home cooked north Indian food, look no further. The thalis are complete meals in themselves with roti, dal, sabji, salad, chutney and curd. They also have healthy parathas
Renuka Natesh
Our go to place for breakfast! Everything is just like home food with no extra oil or too much spices. Staff is also courteous here. Gobi paratha, poha and poori bhaji is a must try here.
Chandrahas Shetty
Yesterday took parcel for breakfast 😊
Two parathas
Two methi parathas and two portions of pova I ordered along with paratha they had given aloo and green peas subzi which was excellent
Pova was also very good we totally enjoyed the breakfast 🍳 😊😊😊😊😊
Soham Goswami
Good food, homely styled north Indian cuisine which is prepared without any artificial ingredients or colour. A place where if you dine , you get to taste good food and satisfying. Bit costly but worth the money for what they dish out.
Arun Kumar
Just ok type food. Stomach is not fulfilled even after having the Thali. They provide very light meals. The menu has lot of Paratha items. The tables are numbered and they have many tables.
Shubham Agrawal
Food and all is great. But staff needs to keep its cool and not start abusing customers. They need to learn customer is paying for the food and they are not distributing food for free..
Snehal Morghade
not good
Sachin Prabhu
Excellent quality food. Friendly people. You take the paranthas or the poha or the thali. Its just awesome taste . Simple and homely. I keep going back there.
Bharath Krishnan
I went to the restaurant on April 6th at around 12:45pm and the restaurant was pretty empty apart from 2 or 3 occupied tables. Couples seated on 4 seater tables.
Me and wife took a seat outside and was later asked( by a waiter) to sit in a 2 seater inside. The 2 seater inside was occupied so we occupied another 4 seater which we were again asked to move since those tables would be joined. He asked us to sit in another 4 seater since the 2 seater was occupied. After we sat down in the 3rd table, another lady asked us to shift to another table.
We were pretty hungry and so I decided to leave, and told her No thanks, we will be leaving now.

The person's answer very rudely was " aapke Marzi (Your wish)".
I didn't expect customers to be treated this way in a 4.4 rated restaurant.
Restaurants need to understand customer service is also important.

Never visiting the place again.
Sanjivbhargava2010
I love the taste. Have been regular in ordering lunch every day. There is variety as they keep changing lunch sabzi every day. It tastes like home food. You guys are doing great. thank you for yummy lunch every day.
Paratha is bit overpriced. Rs 140 for 1 big parantha is definitely not reasonable.
Sourabh Gupta
If you are a working-professional, living by yourself in Bangalore, dying for home-cooked-food, Mumbai tiffin should be your go to place! It offers amazing thali options and food options and the ambience is so home-like. This is the closest one can go to ghar-ka-khana in Bangalore.
Ankur Jaiswal
Decent place for decent food. If you are tired of eating non veg and fast food, this is the place where you should be. Well prepared home food feeling. One Must try methi paratha here.
Dhaval Shiralkar
Had visited this place this morn to have breakfast. Poha i had taken looking at time n hurrry :D. Place is nice, Good ambience too. Must visit place:) :) :)
Divya Sharma
The staff is the worst staff ever. The billing guy is so rude, he started yelling on us when we asked to try the magnetic stripe card for payment. Really bad behaviour. Although food is good here but I don't think I've ever going to visit
Kanpur_food_critic
For some reason, although the food was very costly , we loved the food.
It was amazing home made food, top notch quality ingredients and overwhelming home feels for me.

We had -
Sweet lassi - 5/5
Special thali - 5/5 (Specially loved methi ka paratha)

One line to describe the food ,
felt really home like.
Carolyn Theresa Simon (alittlebitofcaro)
Simple, homely food!
Last afternoon, I was passing by Mumbai Tiffin in HSR and decided to give this place a try. It's a small place, nothing fancy. Their lunch menu is pretty simple, with a host of different thali options and parathas. I ordered the Premium phulka rice thali, which came with 3 phulkas, a portion of rice, dal, paneer and curd. The portion size was sufficient to fill me up and all the curries were absolutely delicious. Overall, I would say it's a great place to enjoy a good hearty lunch and who knows, you might just turn into a regular and want to eat here everyday.
Ankush Bagaria
Super bad management. They seriously need some etiquette training. U guys are into service industry so please be polite.
Coming to the food, yes the food is good but expensive. Not worth the price.
Kavitha Padmanabhan
Homely north indian food. They serve lovely thaalis and amazing lassi and chaas. Though I wish they will add some starters to their menu. Otherwise amazing food and clean and hygienic restaurant❤️❤️
Aditi Dey
Misleadingly long queues for extremely underwhelming and below average food. This zomato rating is what lured us in, only for a very average experience.
Anand H
Mumbai tiffin needs to work on their quality. I understand they have 100s of orders but would be good to check the quality of container before delivery.
Shreshtha Garg
A nice calm and neat place to have your lunch. The thali puts an end to all your starving. The phulkas are just as we get at home. Mon to Thur has a different menu so you get variety. It seems best budget place to lunch out with your office colleagues.
Rishabh Mishra
Best place if you’re looking for home like food with open and peaceful environment. Little expensive but unique experience. Aloo paratha is my favourite.
Saurabh Agrawal
Ordered Premium Phulka Thali with Rice on 14th January through zomato. Although the food wasn't bad but the quantity and taste was not justified for Rs. 230 paid (including delivery and taxes).

You need to seriously work on the quantity you offer for the price charged. While Phulka were soft, season veg was very blank in taste. I hope restaurant works towards justified pricing for the quantity.
Abhishek Kapoor
Well this is my go to place when we don't cook at home. The food is mildly spiced and flavorful. There are a host of customisations available as well when ordering meals. The delivery is prompt and food is just like how you would make it at home. The only downside is that the restaurant barely has any promotional offers going on, however that doesn't stop me from ordering from here.
Haritha P Shivaram
Average ambience, nothing great. The parathas here are extraordinary, the methi paratha in particular. The meal can be ended with a nice glass of lassi.
Deedu Pipada
Mumbai tiffin is one of my favourite places in the city and I love visiting this place at least once a week to have an exuberant experience of tasty food.

It looks like a home converted to a restaurant that offers the best paranthas in the city. The methi paratha of course is one amongst the favourites of the visitors here. All other variants are Excellent in terms of tasty and quantity. I feel the prices are a little more than reasonable but every penny is worth the taste.

My too favourites are the methi parantha thali, the phulka rice thali and the paneer parantha.

The staff are very well trained and the ambience is pleasant and wonderful.

Highly recommended.
Aarsee Aeron
This place serves homely food. Their thalis can never make you miss the home food.
Although the prices are little on the higher side but the taste is awesome.
Sharad Mishra
Ordered Aloo pyaaz parantha and it tasted good. Delivery guy also gave timely delivery. Curd was an add on. Just please try to keep curd cold next time. Thanks
Bina Jasmine
I have no clue why they are so over rated. Unlike what the name suggests, there is absolutely NOTHING mumbai about them. I had walked into this place once thinking I may get to enjoy some nice mumbai items....only to hear from them that they serve only lunch and dinner which is thali. No snacks at all with them anymore. A purely misleading name!!!
I ordered just a ginger tea as it doesnt look good to walk away. And yeewww, the worst tea I have ever had!!
Karan Singla
House converted into a restaurant. Nice homely ambience. Pricing is good and service is okay. The methi paratha and lassi here some must try dishes.
Deepthi Balachandran
We have tried their breakfast combos few times.
It's a total value for money place. Most of the combos are good, our favourite is gobi and methi paratha combo.
Yash Sharma
Let me just tell you one thing "This place is awesome".
Visit this place when you are craving maa ke haath ka khana.
The chutney they serve with paranthas are awesome.
The curd will ALWAYS be fresh.
Just try the place once.
Priyanka Chakraborty
Missing home made food ? Mumbai tiffin is the place to go. I had ordered thali from here, it had perfectly soft chapatis and delicious curries. I feel this is the most hygienic place I have ever been to. Quantity of food is also good and worth for the price.
Varun Nagpal
If you are looking for good homely style food then you should give this place a try. The ambience is fine, most importantly it gives you the feel that it is hygeinic, service is great and food is awesome. It is slightly on the expensive side when you just compare it with any other place serving similar food but still go for it.
Mayuri Bansal
This place justifies each rupee it charges. Gets the quanity, quatility and consistency upto mark. We regularly order its veg thali combo, rarely been disappointed. We really love its Methi Parantha. We have visited this as well. Spacious, causal dine-in, both indoor and outdoor seating, hygienic and quick service.
Sarad De
Home style food but tad bit expensive for the simple meal. Methi parantha thali costs 200 bucks is a little hard to palette. Ambience okay. Hygiene good, parking not an issue though
Suprita Baradurmath
One of the best place to have paratha , specially methi paratha is one of my favourite ,well maintained and also good service, nice place to visit with family and friends.overall good experience.
Swapnanil Sinha
The food here is quite nice but also feels like home made the ambiance is very nice and feels just like home.the cost might be slightly high compared to the food amount and quantity but it's quite good for a satisfying lunch.
Vaibhav Mehta
The place serves simple-home-food that not only enhances your health but also gives you a reminder of the junk that you had been eating from other food outlets. This food will never bore you and one can eat here day after day.
