Review Priyadarshini Restaurant - Bengaluru

Sridutt Miraskar
Iconic and historic (if I can say so) as it's almost there for 70 years when Bengaluru was just a small town. I must say their food quality is the same (best) the way my dad remembers years back! Had vada dipped sambar, masala dosa and paper masala dosa. Ended with filter coffee. Awesome to dine-in there! Parking is limited, so plan accordingly if you take your vehicle.

It's situated at distance of less than a km from majestic bus stand entrance. The ambience of hotel reminds us of our childhood memories. Traditional, authentic South Indian food is served here, best Dose I had in Bengaluru. Masala dose is crispy outside with smooth texture inside and the delicious aloo masala along with sambar, chutney makes BEST dose. Must try for all dosa lovers.

Their dosa is amazing. Thuppa just the right quantity with podi inside. Sambar is the Bangalore sweet sambar and the chutney is a coconut chutney. Costs about Rs. 90. Their chiroti and peni also seemed in a lot of demand. Coffee was amazing. Not very famous but their food is amazing. Ample parking for 2 wheelers and space for 5-6 cars it's a great place.

Located right on the main road, this restaurant is hard to miss. Has a nice parking area right in front. It's at a walkable distance from Majestic. Just as you enter, you will be welcomed by fresh milk and ghee sweets on display. Waiters will guide you to the empty seats. Though table sharing is encouraged, it's not a deterrent. Food is wonderful. Tried special ghee masala dosa, which was very tasty. The filling had a lot of cashews. Not at all expensive, value for money. Found the restaurant hygienic. Waiters are quick and efficient. Highly recommended!

This breakfast spot is awesome! We had the bomb masala dosa, vada, and chow chow bath. The dosa was hella crispy and delicious, and the filling was on point. The chow chow bath came with sheera and both were freaking amazing. Even the tea was top-notch. Only downside was the slightly high price. They had plenty of parking outside, which was clutch. The seating inside was a bit tight 'cause it was packed. Overall, a solid place to grub. Located right on the main road, you can't miss this joint. They've got a dope parking area right upfront. It's a short walk from Majestic, so it's super convenient. When you step in, you'll see the bomb milk and ghee sweets on display. The waiters will hook you up with a seat, and they're cool with sharing tables. The food is fire! We tried the special ghee masala dosa, and damn, it was tasty AF. It had a bunch of cashews in the filling. And the best part? It won't break the bank. The place is clean and the waiters are quick and on point. You gotta check this place out, no doubt!

Decent food with old Bangalore vibes. Dosa is recommended followed by idly/vada.

Good place for breakfast. We had the plain masala dosa, vada and chow chow bath. Masala dosa was crisp and tasty. Filling was adequate and delicious. Chow chow bath comes along with sheera. Both tasted wonderful. Tea was also excellent. Price could have been a little lower. Sufficient parking was available outside the restraunt. Restraunt seating was a little congested due to the crowd. Overall a good place to eat.

FANTASTIC FOOD. All famous South Indian restaurants in Bangalore are a joke compared to this Priyadarshini Restaurant near Majestic Bus Stop and Railway Station.

4.5/5
Priyadarshini is a famous restaurant in Majestic known for their South Indian delicacies. It is walkable from the bus stop.

Ambiance:
-It's like any other old vintage Darshini hotels in Bangalore, which brings back childhood memories.
-Two floors and can afford a big crowd. It was full even on a weekday evening.

Service:
-The waiters and cleaners are very active and quick. It takes around 5 minutes to get the ordered item.

Food:
-Ghee Masala dose: The dose was not too crispy or soft with delicious potato palya and chutney powder inside. This one is easily one of the best doses Bangalore has to offer:)
-Vade Rasam: Though vade wasn't hot, it maintained it's crispiness and tasted good with chutney and sambar/rasam.
-Coffee: Not too strong and went perfectly well with the above two items.
-Peni milk: Very filling, tasty and worth the prize.

Must try: Ghee Masala dose, South Indian meals

Conclusion:
-Pocket friendly: The above items costed ~Rs.170
-A must visit when in Majestic. I'll definitely visit again for more:)

Food: 45/5
Service: 5/5
Ambiance: 4/5
QFM: 4.5/5

Ambiance:
Have been to this place a couple of times now.
Located very close to Anand rao circle, this place is somewhat hidden.
Cleanliness and hygiene ✅
Food:
South Indian menu.
.
.
.
All in all 4/5

Visited this restaurant last month and had a simple Masala Dosa and a cup of filter coffee. The place is a good option for pocket friendly fooding, especially for those who are planning to take long distance buses towards from Anand Rao Circle or Majestic.

A typical kannada restaurant offering south indian cuisine. Here ghee masala dosa is awesome and the ambience is also good. Only thing is that it is not on to the main road, we need to enter an arch of ramakrishna lodge and u will find it there.

We went here on a personal recommendation. I had no clue such a good restaurant existed in Bangalore inspite of living here for such a long-time. Their meals are fab and will transport you to the flavours of northern Karnataka. Their Vada rasam and ghee masala dosa is also a must try. Great place and it ain't too heavy on your pocket .
Sreeanka Choudhury
Had been here today, loved the ghee masala dosa, so cripy and just perfectly done😋 Had poori and chiroti too with coffee and buttermilk, everything perfectly done. Limited options but all the dishes are just tasty. A must try, pocket friendly restaurant.

One for the old hotels of Bangalore. South Indian dishes taste good.. I liked rasam vada, rava idly.. Visited this place more than 100 times while I travel to my native.. South indian meal that I usually have is a good option..

This place serves authentic south indian dosas and meal. The masal dosa was really good. I tried a sweet called chum chum , didn't like it too much. But the kaju Mysore pack is a must try! They served it hot. But I did not wish to have it hot so waited for a bit and then started having it. The staff observed that the sweet is no more hot and asked whether he should make it hot and get back. This shows how much they take care of their customers ☺️
Sumit
Best at everything. Had rasam vada, ghee Dosa, cashew mysorepak. Amazingly satisfied. Feel like I found this place very late. They have lot of sweet varieties also

I always order Curd Rice from here. Simply the best I've tasted. They add coconut, coriander leaves and fruit (grapes or pomegranate), served with a well suited mango pickle that really seals the deal in terms of flavour.
Srivatsa Madananth
This place has always been my most preferred. I have been coming here for almost four years. Every time I travel from Bangalore to my hometown, I have my dinner here before boarding bus. South Indian meals is undoubtedly the best here. Special Madala Dosa is also a must try. Very very crispy and is best dosa available in Bangalore. Do not forget to get a cup of Gatti Chatni (Thick Chatni) for a great combination with Dosa.
Other good things include nice ambience, cleanliness, good hygiene, friendly staff.
Nagendra Simha
If you want to have a good south Indian meal in Majestic, then this is the place to go! Forget about the ambience. What you need is a clean, comfortable place, and this is what you get from this restaurant.

Dishes are lip smacking & the south Indian meal can fill your tummy & you are bound to return satisfied, both on the food & on the pocket.
Pramod
One of the better places to eat good vegetarian food in majestic area. The restaurant looks okay and can be categorized as simple. The idlies were super soft. The set dosa was also good and filling all for less than 100rs. Overall, a decent place to grab a quick bite before journeys.
Ambience 3/5
Value for money 4/5
Taste 4/5
Service 5/5

Comfort food ! Been here multiple times during my Bangalore visits. Has an old world charm and the key words here are simplicity and efficiency ! Almost everything on the menu is classic and timeless ! Especially enamored by their masala dosa, lassi and Chiroti milk.
Coming from Chennai, was pleasantly surprised with their meals. Total VFM! Sumptuous and filling. Being a light eater, the meals was a bit too much in quantity, and I almost always return their rice as I'm stuffed just with the 3 pooris that come with it and all the yummy accompaniments !
Vinay BN
Must visit place for yummy South Indian dishes. Masala Dosa and Rava Idli are the best. Yummy!!
The place is good for quick bites & place will be always crowdy.
Bhavana Rao
My all time favorite place for masala dosa and bonda soup. The typical crowdy karnataka hotel, which a foodie should never miss. The best hotel dosa I have ever eaten is here
Rohan Livingstone
Ideal place for a quick business lunch and coffee after. Food is very cheap and quite good. You get what you pay for. Nothing is over priced. Bondas are very nice . Meals are also packed and full
Roshan Kono
If you're broke this is the best place to be. The meals are the most value for money item in all of bangalore. For 100 bucks you'll be too full to walk . Food is served in a minute and piping hot. Staff is very well trained
Ashoka
A very old hotel that has aged gracefully but still has has its charm intact and caters to taste buds with the same old south indian fare.
One wont be disappointed with any sweets or savouries. Dosas are bit too roasted these days for a minor set down.
Highlight is the special meals worth 90/- which is mostly good but for the rice was a bit hard

It's an old building.. A typical south Indian hotel. mini meals there is good.
Service is fast! Price is very reasonable! The ambience is okay. The dining hall is huge! Many tables. So waiting period is less!

While waiting for taking a Bus from Majestic, the choice of a good eating place made me wander till I reached Priyadarshini. The restaurant appears quite old and legendary. The seating place is huge, tables well placed and environment clean. The crowd bears testimony to the reputation of the place. Tried Masala Dosa with Sambar and chutney. Dosa was crispy brown from outside and soft from within. The sight of an open dosa (with good sprinkling of Podi) on the neighbouring table was also tempting. Would certainly visit again and try other dish. They serve sweets (mithaai) too.
Taste - 4
Decor - 3
Service - 4
Cost - 4

My first time visit to this place, located on such a busy road and along side some hotel it was not very easy to find the place...

And when i entered this place it was like i have stepped back in time for atleast 20 years...

The feel of the place is very retro from the roof line to the furniture to check flooring. We ordered a masala dosa, a paper masala dosa and vada sambhar...

The masala dosa, paper masala dosa were both very well made. They were crisp on the outside with the right amount of masala on the inside and very less oil on it. The chutneys were super yummy, especially the coconut chutney was perfect. The vada was soaked in sambhar and it was again super delicious. My take on this place is that although i have only tried a few items but they were pretty tempting to me. A thumbs up to this place...

They also serve a lot of sweets but i did not tried any. A must try for people who love south indian cuisine.

Taste:8/10, Ambience:8/10, Service:8/10, Value for Money:8/10

This is a legacy in majestic area, perfect for a quick breakfast or snacks. I have had the mini idlis, the masala dosa and filter coffee. The mini idlis won my heart with their softness and buttery smoothness. The service is decent and the ambience is a typical simplistic seating. Definitely recommended if you are in majestic, looking for a yummy snack.

The most legendary place in Bangalore .! My dad bought me to this place when we first visited to Bangalore and after shifting to Bangalore whenever we came to majestic for work or to travel or just to see some movie we make sure we visit this place .! Worth the money and worth the service 😊

This is a restaurant with legacy, it is a very old one, it is always crowded, it serves good South Indian food, and if you are near majestic and you have some time before boarding your bus, this is the best place to visit.
No concept of private seating, so if restaurant is experiencing high crowd which is the case all the time, you will have to share your table with others.
I ordered dosa, rava idli, tea and juice. Everything was decent, do try whenever you get a chance.
Moiz Ahmed
Priyadarshini restaurant is quite famous because of its good breakfast and location. If you love to have Idlys and dosas as your breakfast, it will be a better place for you.
Evankerr Ryndem
I will always remember this place as the place where I had my very first Ragi dosa. Enjoyed it along with a hot cup of traditional southern coffee and some Mysore pak..
Enjoyed every bite and every sip! Moreover, the place was very well maintained and the staff were very courteous.

Keep up the good work guys!!!

I have been visiting this restaurant for over 20 years. Pretty much same taste even now. Management is pretty good and well organized. The hotel is located in majestic, next to kapali theatre. I love the chiroti and pheni with badam milk and powdered sugar. Monday lunch will have majjige huli, best tasting ever. Lunch time is crowded but will get a spot in 10 mins max. Try pongal too.

Better hotel in that locality . Breakfast was ok .

This restaurant in Ramakrishna Lodge Majestic is a very popular place among locals and tourists alike. The best things on the menu @ breakfast are Masala Dosa, Poori Palya, Idly Vada, Bonda Soup. This is one of the most hygienic old time places in Bangalore. They also have parking for a fare.
Food For Thought
Ok kind for a breakfast. There are far better places nearby. Dosa's and idly's are good, but nothing exceptional. Service is fast. The restaurant is kept pretty clean and definitely reasonably priced.
Hari Krishna
one of the best places for benne masala dosa and bisebelebath . . . Its totally 5/5 for the taste and they serve with very hospitality.. :)
Adarsh Patil
One of the cleaner hotels to eat at in majestic.
It's located within the Ramakrishna Lodge, next to Kapali theatre and maybe slightly hard to locate.
The thali meals, puri, dosa, idli and rice items are good. The rest of dishes are average. Affordable and Quick service but no great ambience. To give credit they've been running for decades now.
VERDICT: if you're looking for a quick, clean and light on your pocket hotel in majestic during transit or Travel, this is one of the places you can try.
Rajeev J
Nothing great about food, but service is not good. Same with Basaveshwaranagar hotel also., here the service is worst, better to avoid this hotel
Sathya Narayanan
It was all thanks to a friend who suggested this one Saturday night, when we were looking for a place to eat near Majestic.Hidden behind a large tree just next door to Kapali theatre, you might almost miss this place. But the food here is simply wonderful. The place still retains the old world charm. Friends who visit from Chennai swear by the place.Would love to visit again and again.
Bengaluru Food Walks
Found some interesting and good looking restaurant, like old bangalore construction. Where I walked in to have breakfast and found the menu at the corner of the table, arranged well.
I found masala dosa is pretty good here.and mini idly was good and tasty. Located next to anandrao circle in majestic.
Naveen Suresh (Bangalore Epicure)
Finally found this restaurant in Zomato... Thank you Zomato... When ever we were coming to Bangalore, this is the restaurant we use to go either for breakfast or lunch... Trust me this is one of the hygienic and best restaurants in Bangalore... You can see the typical bangalorean crowd here.... I remember my childhood days when ever I think about this restaurant and they have ample place for 2 wheeler and 4 wheeler parking... I like dosas and Bonda soup here...

Ambiance: 3/5
Quality: 4/5
Taste: 4.5/5
Value for money: 3.5/5
Darshan Sreenivas
The best and economical south cuisine!
Rava dosa, open dosa, masala dosa and bisebele bath! Are just fantastic!
Subramanian Sivasankaran
Love rasa vadai and mini Idlis. Good Kesaribath and Karabath. lunch is also good. Home away from home for travellers angling for pure vegetarian food. On the whole good food at affordable prices. Not very great on ambiance, a typical middle class hangout. Operate at two floors, always full. Only regret is that they don't get their filter coffee right too strong for my taste.
Vinay Pani
Best veg hotel near majestic. I guess hotel started in 80's, old but taste is excellent. Breakfast items are very good and tasty, specialy masal dosa, mini idly, rava idly..etc. I never had meals there, but ya those are good.
And one more important thing is different types of sweets are available, specially bengali sweets, try that. And lastly "tea" , its superb..
Cost doesn't matters if you get good tasty food, so dont worry.....

Try out mini idlis it's awesome
