Review Village - The Soul Of India - Bengaluru

Rahul Chauhan
This place actually makes me feel nostalgic about my childhood time. the environment is kind of a village ceremony time. the best thing about the place was the puppet show, dance show and they even involve the guests also which was really good. it was like they are so welcoming that they want the guests to have a good and lot of time in the restaurant. i really liked the concept. if we talk about food is was pretty good and fresh. i felt that the options in snacks and starters are too less. they could also increase the number of dessert. i would love to visit the place again but they should really work on the number of items in starters, snacks and desserts. i gave four because the food whatever they had was good and loved the time i spent at that place.

This restaurant is there from quiet a long time now and recently they have revamp ambiance and food. They are famous for Rajasthan and north Indian foods. Need to pay money before entering into dining area. There will be stalls like salads, chats, thandai, starters, tandoori, desserts and many more. Nice place for kids to hangout for games and entertainment they arrange.

This place is wonderful! Reasonably priced, courteous staff, super tasty (only Veg) food with a variety of options to chose from! They even have entertainment arranged for the guests like puppet show, games, dance, temporary tattoo artist and so on. The interiors are designed to ape a village and it's pretty unique. They've reused a lot of metal from vehicles and automobiles to decorate the place. It's impressive :)

I am surprised to see just a low review for this place . The prices are affordable and the intermix of culture is brilliant. I have been here twice , once just with my cousin and second time on new years with friends and it didn't disappoint me at all. The Variety in food is good and the ambiance is bewitching. Perfect place for photo enthusiasts like me.They also have puppet show for the kids and they play dandiya in the end. Must go

This rating is not only based on food, it includes the experience which you gain when you visit the restaurant. This place offers not only food but also entertaining acts, folk dance and fun games. The restaurant is located on the top floor of JP Nagar Central Mall. The setup is more like local village but clean and neat with sufficient seating. They welcomed us with Jal Jeera/ Orange juice/ Masala Chass in small glasses. Jal Jeera was slightly salty but other two were perfect. The buffet has wide variety of dishes- salads, chats, appetizers, fried items, North Indian main course, live counters and desserts. The reviews differed from every person, as few items were not as expected. Starting with vegetable salad, it was well marinated but it was not fresh or was made way to early. All vegetables were dull and soggy. Chaats on the other hand were good; Hot, freshly made and tangy as it has to be. In Appetizers we liked only Pan fried momos. Fried paneer crisps, soya chaap (more like soya tikki) and honey Chilli Potatoes were surprisingly not as expected. It didn't taste as it was named. Without any delay we moved to the main course and started with some North Indian curries and hot tandoor rotis. The best part was the rotis or Kulchas, which was being prepared hot and served as required. Jhodpuri Aloo and Baingan Bharta were the two dishes which were in limelight. Methi mutter, Paneer Lazeez, Panchratan Dal and Punjabi Chole were just ok. In rice Veg Biryani surprised us. It had good flavors Making us not to comment on it. They also had Bisi Bele bath, which was not really it. Regular white rice n rasa were also turn down. Coming to dessert section, Gulab Jamun (dry n regular ones) both were soft and delicious! On the other hand rasgulla was rubbery and hard Our suggestions to management- - Bisi Bele bath should be changed to some other dish or remake it in a better way. - Even veggies and salads can be made as and when required. - Honey Chilli Potatoes need more of chilli and honey. If you are planning to go with your family then this is an apt place! Do try this place and let us know your thoughts and feedbacks! Cheers!! #BurpOutLoudly

This is a cozy place. Restaurant has a theme of Rajasthani village. Good place to visit there with family and friends. We took buffet service here. It has ample items to fill our tummy with good taste. Both vegetarian and non vegetarian menu was available. For children some playing place and accommodation is here. Over all I enjoyed my time with my friends there with variety of foods.

It is an excellent place for dine, dance, entertainment and excitement for family with kids and group of friends with family who love vegetarian and fun. It is placed on the 6th floor at Bangalore Central Mall at J P Nagar, Bangalore. The ambience is good and a theme of a village is artistically created. There are fun games like puppet show, gun shoot on balloons, tattoo stall, make up room with artificial wig, astrology prediction, jumping balloons for kids, paan stall, Rajasthani folk dance, dance floor, musical chair and variety of snacks and food in veg. So, in all your family and friends can enjoy unlimited food and timing from 6pm to 10.30 PM. We had really good time so I would really recommend others to enjoy this unique environment.

As the name of the place suggests, they are completely designed keeping the village theme in mind. I honestly loved the ambience. They have separate sections, a khatki section for seating, space in between where most activities happen, separate area for kids to play, a bouncy castle, and plenty of live counters. Food & Drinks: It’s a really good place for vegetarians. They have varieties from chaats, to tandoor, some Chinese variety, and lots of desserts. It’s very interesting how they’ve placed everything perfectly. There’s a theka section where they serve chaas, orange juice and jaljeera. The spread is pretty good too. I personally loved the baingan ka bharta with their fresh tandoor rotis. Their spread varies from time to time. Definitely recommend this to people who’d love to have a good time with fun activities and have a buffet spread. Definitely have candy floss, and pop corn as well. They have a pan booth at the exit. Service and activities: Since most of everything served here is self service, there isn’t much to talk about service. But they have lots of fun activities, they play musical chairs, they have a couple of shows by people, garba and dandiya as well. It’s super fun for sure. Head over to the village for good food and a great time!

Pretty good place for family outing and food and fun. With various themed counters, kids and elders can enjoy the puppet show, garba, Dandiya dance and makeovers. Recommended for birthday and anniversary celebrations.

Village is a themed restaurant which is located on the 6th floor of Bangalore Central-JP Nagar. As the name suggests, Village blissfully displays true soul of India. Being a themed restaurant, the Village represents an actual village setting of the northern India. Coming to the ambience, they have totally revamped the interiors and made it way brighter than it was earlier. Some of the highlights of these interiors are the old Village styled pushing carts for chat, popcorn and cotton candy, the tent style sitting areas. Coming to the food part, Village serves some really good North-Indian food except for one thing, that is Dosa and Bisibelebath. Basically you start of with pineapple sharbhat, chas or Jaljeera. Then I shifted to my favorite part of the buffest, the chats, panipuri, dahi papdi chatcare a must try, but some how the portion of the dahi papdi chat served was small, as it's a buffet you should take another serving. Coming to the main course, tried their Butter Kulcha ,dal tadka, baingan bartha, paneer curry , Kulcha was soft and was made fresh in front of your eyes on the tandoor, loved the dal and bartha. They had some Chinese and north-east asian twist given starters, like kajun fries and Momo's in grevy. Coming to the desserts, they have some classics, like gajar ki hallwa, gulanb jamun and rasagulla, the first two were quiet good but the rasagulla I feel was bit to hard for it was meant to be. The milk pudding the phirni was too good, one can eat two servings of it. The kids have plenty to enjoy here with an air inflated jumping castle they can have their cotton candy and popcorn. There is no less of an entertainment here, the staff is full of energy and have their daily puppet show, musical chairs and also the dandiya sessions when diners are dining. One can spend a couple of bucks more on the astrologer sitting there to know their fortune or to play a shooting game. Overall Village captures the soul of India with some good food, but being a buffet they have a lot of things to improve, the variety was pretty less, especially in the desserts. They used to have mehendi artists before which were not found this time I went there. Taste-4.5/5 Quality-4.5/5 Quantity-5/5 Ambience-4/5 Price-4/5 Worth it ? - Yeah, the food is pretty good, if like some good entertainment with some real good north Indian food, Village is the place to be. Whether I would visit them again ? - Yes, but I feel they could improve.

The Village:-Village in the city...Yes:-In A Mall...Why Not?? A beautiful picture perfect village ambience created on the 5 th floor of the busy Central Mall in J P Nagar. The rustic environment takes into picture all the setting such as a cot, walking stick,a well, the old carts to name a few. The place however serves only Vegetarian food and is a Oasis of sort for the vegetarians. They serve from Chaats, and a wide spread of Vegetarian Starters,Main Course and Desserts. A Self-Service, buffet restaurant model with live artists performing here.Musical Chair game and Live dances by the patrons adds a twist in the monotonous way usually all restaurants operate. There is a LIVE CHAAT COUNTER which served good Dahi puri,Masala puri and Pani puri to name a few. The Starters 1.Rawa Paneer Wada- great on taste. 2.Potato Wedges-the humble dish just done right. The Main Course 1.Hot Roti/Naan(Butter Optional) -a separate section where they prepare on demand in front of you.Perfect... 2.Paneer Kadai-one of the best have ever tried of late. 3.Veg Kheema Masala-Good 4.Punjabi Chhole-Oh My Food,Excellent...MUST TRY & HIGHLY RECOMMENDED 5.Mushroom Mutter-Could have been better. 6.Dal Tadka- the humble dish has been perfected by the chef and you just crave for more 7. Veg Pulao- bit dry...average 8.Steam Rice-ok 9.Bisi Bele Bath- a disaster and just should be taken off the menu. Please Chef...learn it right, taste in a couple of places and then serve it to the patrons The Desserts 1.Jalebi-crunchy,Juicy,hot and tasty prepared in front of you on demand 2.Gulab Jamun-easily one of the best 3.Seviyan Kheer-Best avoid A buffet is priced around Rs 450/- and taxes. Kid friendly and very relaxing. At the end, there is also a Kulfi Corner included in your dinner. Also a PAANWALA to polish off your dinner which is minimally charged of Rs 15/- only. A great place for get together with family and friends.A much required short break from the hustle and bustle of the city life. As of me,would definitely go back on any given day for the hot,lip smacking food they serve.

The village is an village concept restaurant located over three outlets in bangalore . I visited the jp nagar one at central mall and i wasn’t disappointed. Being a hard core meat eater i was astonished with the veg food options and the way it tasted. The ambience is very so meticulously done resembles an Indian village marked by a banayan tree, the waiters are dressed in traditional Rajasthani attire, the cutlery and the entire setup of the place and live dhol music added more charm to the place. They levy an entry charges at the starting, once we entered we were served by welcome drink consisting of jaljera, buttermilk and rasna. I can totally vouch for the taste of buttermilk and jaljera. Another key attraction for me out here was the live chat counter serving unlimited portions of north indian style chats like pani puri, dahi puri papdi so on and so forth i was also love with their starters like kurkure masala papad paneer the freshly made veg momos and the delectable soft soya tikki’s. There was also live salad counter serving an array of salads freshly cut veggies and fruits. The main course is what stole the show for me, it had a wide variety of vegetarian options for me the clear winners were dal makhani, jaipuri dum aloo, baigan bharta and veg biryani. The desserts had a wide array of some freshly made Jilebies along with lot of Indian varieties consisting of Gulab jamun, rabri, balushahi so on and so forth. The service was quick and prompt as the food items were constantly being replaced leaving no one hungry. Also to keep the kids entertained there wer an araay of games and also a live candy floas counter If you come here with larger groups , they also arrange games section which is super fun . If your craving for some pure veg food with great ambience give this place a try and you wont be disappointed.

It was nice visiting here. There is by 1 get 1offer on every Monday and Wednesday. Pakodas and chats were there for starters. Taste was not bad. Salads were tasty. Main course was also okay. Not so good.

WHAT THEHEEBEE SAYS ABOUT VILLAGE THE SOUL OF INDIA Note: I visited Village restaurant before corona crisis. This review is based on that visit. Village - The Soul Of India is a restaurant located on sixth floor of Central Mall, J P Nagar. It is situated at a walking distance from the popular Ragigudda Temple. I would say that this is the perfect use of the place that one could have done right in the middle of a chaotic and busy locality of Bangalore. Village is truly a 'village' themed restaurant and I appreciate the promoters who have ensured that the ambiance and experience would look as close to village life as possible. They have a big artificial banyan tree right in the center where people can sit. The table and chairs have been made artistically from most humble and simple things. A horse cart, small shacks etc light up the ambiance further. Astrologer, air-rifle counter, puppet show etc adds to the charm. There is a fix cost per head and all food and beverages are unlimited once you are inside. Food mostly consists of Rajasthani and Gujarati cuisine along with North Indian dishes and some native South Indian 'must have' dishes like curd rice, sambar, rasam etc. Food counters are spread across the premises and that makes all the counters free of rush. Chaat counter seemed to be the most favorite of all the guests. They have also made a small 'jail' like enclosure which is again a big attraction among guests. Buffet is the only option here and you have hours at your disposal to enjoy the food and experience. Food was good in taste, but this place is more about enjoying the overall experience than the food. Once majority of guest have arrived, the staff would start interesting activities like - musical chair, dance, garba, ghoomar rajasthani dance, juggling etc I feel that this is a perfect place to visit with a group of friends or family members. It is a good place to organize small parties. Bigger the group, more fun would be at Village - the soul of India. Signing Off Hiral Amodia (TheHeeBee)

Pure vegetarian place with average food. The ambience is good as you get to play some games and they have dj facility. Food Wise they have a buffet spread out of which I liked the papdi chat, kebabs and the Palak Paneer. The desserts were extremely sweet and disappointing.

Best place for a large group of people! Such a wonderful place. The ambience was rustic. The staff is excellent! They are sweet and made sure we were having fun.The whole thing was very entertaining there was a puppet show followed by Rajasthani folk dance, Dandia, musical chair and DJ hour. Everyone from the old to the young ones participated and it was an amazing experience. There was a wide variety of tasty food. All in all a great place to wind down with family and/or friends.worth every penny.
Utsav Dubey
The variety was there but taste was just fine. The desert was good and I would like to give 3.5 stars but you know zomato so here we are.
Rajashekar Mani
Good for a family get together. Enjoy your time with unlimited food and fun.
Vishnu Goutham
Low quality, Unhealthy Junk. Not even a single item in the buffet was palatable.. Dal Tadka was watery, starters were drenched in oil, Noodles was tasteless. Deserts & chats were ordinary.. Roti and Naan was undercooked. The only consolation was the Village setup ambience.. Definitely not worth it.
Nandini Shahi
Worst food and service
Sujeet Kumar
Food was good and specially cheese ball mini samosa khichdi and you can enjoy folk dance musical chair garba dandiya

Excited to visit Village again and again.
Mr. Sree Kumar - The Manager is quite friendly and down to earth person.

Young crowd will enjoy a loooooaaaaad.

Food is very bad. Food is too oily. Nothing tastes like it should. Felt like as if you have gone to an Indian restaurant in Antarctica. Chat is like 2/5. Deserts as well 2/5. Sides like Kulfi , popcorn 0/5. Soda icecream corner 2/5. Bhajiya corner 1/5. Need to improve lot on food quality, total turn off .No idea who are the people who rated it 4/5. Please fix the food seriously.
Veekshitha Hegde
Anyone who wishes to have a peaceful dinner, this is definitely not the place. Three birthday parties were going on and the whole place was overflowing with people, counters were crowded, very loud music so much so that it was unbearable, definitely did not give a feel of a restaurant but a mela or a exhibition. When a place is rented to a private event, a notice/board indicating that private patrons aren’t allowed is important.
When this was pointed out to the manager, he was rude enough to tell us ‘if you have come here for the food, eat and go’!! Manager also goes on to say that individual patron experiences doesn’t count much as birthday parties are important.
However, the food was fairly ok, starters and desserts options were less for the price.

The restaurant name/theme and the environment inside definitely aren’t in sync.

Anil Sriram
It looked like we were in a marriage reception buffet and not a restaurant, there was a birthday party going on but shouldn’t that be non impactful to the regular customers who would pay and come to eat. Every place from chats counter to starters and live counters like dosa counter was crowded with people standing and eating food. The music was very loud and unpleasant. Food was decent, the theme and ambience is pretty good, kids would enjoy it. Two stars less for their horrible management of parties impacting regular customers. If you can take care of such things, it can become a very good place to hang out with family specially with kids n old people.

Complete village style and food is amazingly delicious 😋 they serve you only got food. Worth trying once..
I went to Village..Soul of India after a long time. The place has improved. It was very crowded due to the festival holiday. The staff is polite though there were very few people to clean the tables. The starters were good, hot and fresh. The ambience is quite good. The staff there are more interested in the dandia and musical chairs rather than serving the guests. We had to call the waiters to get us glasses for water etc. Food is average. The chole were very spicy and plain rice were under cooked. Other items are just average not really great. But over all Village is a nice place to spend time with friends. We really had fun. Mr Mohammed is a polite and very courteous manager. Place is real value for money.
Manjula Reddy
The food is pathetic, cold and some dishes had no salt. The whole focus of the place is in the ambience and the dance floor. The staff too is involved only in the dance floor. The restroom is the same for ladies and gents. The chats in the roadside is way way way better. The starters were extremely mediocre and cold. In main course , the Biryani had no salt and the noodles was bland. The staff instead of serving involve in the dance only. The few staff who wait and tend the tables are rude. The deserts were okay-ish.
Anitha SS
Good restaurant to go with friends...along with food we can have of fun here ..but food is bit ok ok kind...they should improve the quality.
Sneha Ajay Balmi
Not worthy... There was no variety in fud.. N dey all South Indian food.. Der was only samber from South Indian menu....totally disappointment....
Muthu
Very limited menu for starters(1 manchurian , 1 potato fry, 1 bread pakoda ) desserts ( Gulab Jamun, dal halwa, rice payasam)
I expected more in the menu for the price we pay.
Harish
Good place for a family outing.
Food is ok. Pure vegetarian food with traditional Indian dessert like kheer, halwa, jalebi are best.
Indian village Street food like pani puri, chats are good but not great.
Dance arena is nice where we can do Garba, Dandiya, Bhangda etc..
Good place for entertainment and food both.
Jai Sanghai
So, we went to this place after moving to bengaluru and wanting to go to a buffet restaurant with our new purchased zomato gold. This restaurant has mediocre spread. Taste is also mediocre. I tasted most of the spread but did not find anything to be super awesome. At the very least, some appetizers should be added to the spread. Can visit for 1+1 but not otherwise.
Piyush Singh
Good place to chill out little bit crowded on weekend but the staffs are very polite to handle the customers. Tottaly a nice experience I got this place on Saturday evening.
Mahesh Prasad
I like them of restaurant and interiors are design accordingly.
It was my first visit to village soul of indian and it was value for money.
They have good variety of food with buffet system also.
A nice place to hangout with your family and friends.
Ankita Parashar
Visited this place on a Monday evening for a family dinner. We were the only ones. They charge 550+ taxes per individual and this is too high in my opinion for this place. The place was stinking probably because its in a closed space. There were very few options for starters and they were very basic. The vegetables were tasty. Dessert was way too sweet and again just 2-3 options. This was my second visit to this restaurant and probably I won't visit it again. Just not worth the money.

If you want to Dance, want to have fun, with good food and have some Rajadthani ambience, no one can close to Village - the soul of India.

We had planned my daughters birthday party in it and booked half of restuarant for it. It been the best birthday celebration for her because of the way they helped to organize it. Everyone who came was just overwhelmed with their experience with restaurant.

Excellent staff, excellent decorations, variety of dishes, and space to dance is unbeatable.

Would definitely recommend this restaurant if you are going with group to have a wonderful evening

Food is average quality:
1. Welcone drink is ok
2. Chats section is good, have different varieties and taste is nice
2. Starters are very bad, they are not hot. They just kept then in open plate.
3. No soup
4. Not many options in curries and those are OK in taste.
5. Biryani was good, dosa was tastelsee and pav bhaji was OK.
6. You will get hot rotis of your choice. Very Good rotis.
7. Amazing hot sweets, again very less options but very good sweets.
8. Good jal jira drink and not that great kulfis.

Overall very less options in mains and starters, food was not that great.

Good things:
1. Hospitality is amazing, very good and friendly staff
2. Amazing atmosphere with dhol, old songs, village like setup, unique setup.
3. Very spacious, play area for kids, dandia and disco play was very good.
4. Amazing energy among people, I saw few families celebrating birthdays, very well organized by the staff.
5. Can spend time after having food and enjoy the complete the setup.
6. You can participate in musical chair game, consult astrologer, good location to take photos.

A unique location, good place to hangout with family and friends if you are fine with food taste.

The place is good to spent 2-3 hrs and food is also nice.. Md mukeem was polite and good service was provided.

The dandia and musical chair was entertaining. And starter were avg and desert is nice.

We went there expecting to be multi-cuisine and wanted to eat Gujarati food, but there was mostly Punjabi food. The food was also not up to the mark including desserts. While leaving a person told us to give feedback on tab but it automatically rated 5. Giving 2 stars for ambience and extra activities, but do not recommend.

I am a pure non veg .. So was little unwilling to try this place.. But to my astonishment it turned out to be a wonderful experience.. There ambiance specially makes it worth.. Food also is quite good.. overall a great experience.

This place offers a huge variety of dishes in a buffet . What makes this place loveable is the dance floor where everyone can step up to there beat and dance right .. thr also have a cosy inner environment a setup that creates a feel of being in a village starting from the furniture's to the inner decorations all adds up the warm interior .Though thr server a huge variety of dishes for a buffet the making of some dishes can be improved
They also provide discounts if large number of people go in has a group

Had a birthday party booked for my child with nearly 30+guests at the Venue. Very impressed with the venue, kids events, overall atmosphere, courteous friendly and professional attitude of the staff. The food, choice, layout was awesome too. Personal Thanks to Prakash Dawade, the manger. He made the whole experience for my kid and all the guests a memorable one. We will surely cherish this occassion for a very longtime to come. Highly recommend this place . Just AWESOME. Thanks “THE VILLAGE”-will visit you again shortly

Poor and unhygienic food served. They charge heavy money for it and it's buffet is not up to the mark. Food there lack the taste even they didn't bother to add salt to a curry even after complains. The waiter and the staff are inconsiderate.
Ambiance is good, variety of items could have been increased. If you are only interested in good food, this is not the place to look forward to

Awesome staff and flexible manager who helped us arrange for movement of my grany who is an octogenarian. Overall had a wonderful time with family and cousins. Thank you and keep it going.

Went to this place to celebrate my nephew's job confirmation, but came out disappointed. With abundant space which could have been designed intelligently, what you have is a bunch of things scattered all over the place.

The music was loud and jarring (please invest in a good music system if you guys are really particular about playing it so loud. It is for the others who will come. I for sure will not return to this place). Despite requesting for a reduction in the volume, nothing happened.

Now, for the most important part -- food. The starters were ordinary. In the main course, among the things that I tried, Jodhpuri Aloo and Achari Baingan were floating in oil (please donate if your oil stocks are in excess). The biryani and raita were good. The sambar was sweet. Why, sir, why?

That brings me to the real sweets: I liked the jalebi and jamun. I would have been better off without tasting the rava halwa.

Please learn what kulfi is. Chuski is NOT kulfi. Change the board, at least.

My nephew said the chaats were good. I did not try them.

Finally, what cooled my anger for having come to this place was the ice cream. The good old butterscotch in a cone.

We have been enjoying this restaurant for quite sometime now. Well maintained and they have both north indian and south indian food. The food was not as great as expected but great ambience and entertainment makes it a great place to visit.Rotis was served hot. The place is a decent ambience. The staffs were polite too.
We went for lunch on 18-April on the occasion of my daughter's birthday. We were 8 adults (including 2 senior citizens) and 1 kid.

There is nothing good to tell here and I regretted & spoilt my daughter's birthday lunch and wasted my money as well.

1. This is hot summer in Bangalore and there is No AC but just few fans here and there.
2. Very loud music is played through out the lunch session.
3. There were around 80-100 customers and very less staffs.
4. None of our requests were attended by staffs, such as:
Starters to be served on the table - NO.
Roti to be served on the table - NO
Drinking water refills were done - NO.
5. Three starters were placed in the buffet area - Bajji, Potato wedges, Baby corn manchurian. Guess what, for these 80+ customers they used to refill only 2-3 plates of starters and it used to get over in a minutes (which served only 5-6 people). Had to wait for nearly 30mins to get the starters and too much rush, we had to literally push each other to get our share once the refills were done.
6. Rotis/Kulchas - a big line here as well. To get 12 kulchas, we stood in the line for 30 mins.
7. We could see excess oil floating in the curries.
8. Chats was the only saving grace.

Overall, a chaotic place.

It’s one place that I would never get tired off. A typical family place and you can enjoy the experience more than the food. The staff makes sure that you try different dance styles and play games as well. There was a kids playing area, airbrush tattoo, astrologer, puppet show, balloon shooting, dancing and games. The food was good especially the chat counter.

Good food and ambiance. Soda was amazing. Overall nice concept. Special thanks to ikram, rizwan and kuldeep for being our private photographers and serving food on table. Well done guys. Three cheers for the service.

This place is all about drama and distraction and less about food. Very ok food. Random choices. Hard to find. And scattered all around. No escalator on the 6th floor even. Don’t come here if you have elder family folk.

We happen to visit on 31/March. I had a very horrible experience.
I would have given a negative rating if there was an option. Loss of money and time.
1) Starters were just pakoda, other pakoda although not good you had to wait for the 30 minutes, even it arrives you have to fight in a crowd to grab it. Every
2) there was no culfy stock although it was displayed in counter.
3) there was less ice cream and that guy was reluctant to give ice cream and he was giving very less and delaying deliberately.
4) Subji's were not at all good, it was prepared in bulk and does not taste good at all
5) Again for roti you have to fight in crowd t get it.
6)Events such as dance were focussed to particular group. Restorant management either should not allow such a big group or restrict number of entry.
7) Deserts were not avaliable, even it was available it was emptied in short time. agian you have to wait.
8)Well those who does not get food or bored of avialble food there is paid tatoo counter, you can go and get it.
9)There are no good option for kids.
10) They did not play folk dance meant for kids.

I certainly not recommend this hotel for anyone.

Worst quality of food street food is much better then what they served it's totally money waste.
They don't know how to treat a customer....if there is any least rating then 1 would have given that.. so called care tracker of brand called me to verify feedback, doesn't know how to treat customer..all fake promotion.. Don't fall to such a trap be aware.. FOOD SUCKS.... PLS DONT WASTE MONEY VISITING TO THIS PATHETIC PLACE....
Food Lover
The place offer not only food but also entertaining acts, folk dance and fun game. Freshly made and tangy as it has to be. A nice place to hangout with your family and friends. Nice place to visit with kids.

Had been here with family The restaurant is basically North Indian village thened. Not only is good food and deserts you can enjoy playing dandiya and puppet show when it's hot jalebi is not a miss to here. Good only for the ambiance and experience It gives you the right.I guess it would not be a South Indian's choice since there are only 5 - 6 dishes of South Indian cuisine.

Different ambience and village theme... variety in foods was good... Starters were from multicuisines, North Indian cuisine tasted great..Entertaining performance were interesting part of lunch....Though it was a mela kind of ambience, one get privacy too

I wonder how they have been getting 5 star rating. We had been there today to celebrate my 3 yearld old son's birthday. The place was quite empty. Starters were ok but the main course was pathetic. Games, Dhol, puppet show and all were great and that's how we enjoyed the time. The guy came and asked for feedback to my wife as I was headed to the restroom, my wife gave an honest review of 3 star stating that food was bad but the acitivities were great. The guy asked her for a reason and said until you clarify this rating, we won't let you go. My wife was shocked and waited until I returned. As soon as I returned, the guy immediately changed his stance and said, Mam pls help us with a detailed review so that we can improvise. This clearly shows how they have been luring / forcing people to rate them better on platforms. Guess, this is the first restaurant to serve only tawa roti and no Naan/Kulcha/Paratha/Puri etc.

Great place, good food, nice atmosphere, and sweet staff members :)

Fun activities, a great place to chill with friends. You wouldn't wanna miss this place

This was a good place to go , and there r offers up here sometimes, and if there was non-vegetarian it would have been good . And environmental as usual good and best

Love the whole theme, environment, food and service of this place.

Ambience was quite good.

Service was good

Food was just great. Each and every item offered was just delicious.

We went on Monday when they have 1+1 offer. The crowd was quite good. Entertainment through dance and everything was good.

I loved sweets specially gajar ka halwa and gulab jamun.

Chaat counter was superb. I loved bhel puri.

Everything else was also good.
One of the Worst experience I have ever had. I purchased the buffet through little app, it costed me 314/- , when reached the restaurant they denied me and my friends for the buffet and told the price has been bumped. On calling the manager the staff let me through.

There is no order in the restaurant, the starters, Main course and desserts are placed far apart.

Food gets over fast. Starters aren't great. Service is Ok.

The place is ideal if you are with a family with lot of people.

Food : 1/5 (Most of the item were bland)
Experience : 1/5
Hospitality : 1/5
Vasavi Satya
No much varieties of items, expected good variety of items, went with min expectation, but disappointed a lot, need to maintain the restaurant with much items

This is one of the best place to experience the Village environment with some entertainment to play with along with having your food. Especially the dhol, musical chairs and few entertainment shows by their staff is really amazing.

Coming to food, this place serves only buffet and no Al carte available here. Quality of the food is really good and its a unlimited meal, so quantity depends on you.

Pricing for the varieties of food you get over there along with the unlimited meal is really affordable.

Ambiance is completely of the village style and with their traditions.

Chaats had amazing taste and flavor which gave a very nice feel to the taste buds.

Deserts were amazing and main course had a very large menu including south indian and north indian delicacies.

This is a must try place in bangalore if you are planning to experience the desi style village environtment.

Visited this place for lunch. It was fun there with various props like Rajasthani headrobe, dhol, dandhya etc. There was even musical chairs to play. Started with welcome drink then direct to food. Starters were very few in number hardly 2-3 but good in taste. Main course desserts we're good. It's a nice place to have some fun with good food. Not to expect great variety but limited and hot food is served. Nice ambience . Worth the money.
Sedhu S
This is such a low class hotel. The moment we entered inside found out this and the next thing is food which is very poor in quality. We both got vomit and severe stomach ache. The reason is full of soda in all the food what we had. Don go with kids and Old aged people . Such a worst experience..........don’t waste your money by opting these kind of restaurants. The highlight is the dosa batter is mixing in hand by a guy who cleaned that place just before ..
Srini Vas
Nyc place.. food was good n after renovation the place has great ambiance.. friendly staffs n great fun.. perfect place to spent a perfect evening
Sathya G
It's a decent place for having a good family time. Food is average.. nothing great about it. They have good amount of activity like Dandiya and other dance where they teach you. They also have puppet show.
Piyush
Very disappointed with the food.
Starter Items are less, and only potatoes based, that too on a weekend .
No mushrooms or baby corn in the whole menu.
Rest of the menu was pathetic, even the chat items weren't good enough.
Service was good though.
Not worth the money at all.
Abinash
The food is very bad. They charge 576 Rs but the food is not even worth 76rs. Starters are very bad and they serve very little. Not many options for main course as well. Not much option for desserts as well.

It is very easy to pen down a clear and crisp review for such occasions where you dislike everything you experience in a restaurant. Below is the beautiful summary :
1.Horrible starters and desserts. They had honey patatoes, honey cauliflower and patatoe bhajjis(facepalm). For desserts, they mentioned kulfi(rose water kulfi which i have never heard of in my life, and not our standard milk kulfis), gajar ka halwa(another horrible unsweet dish) and gulab jamun(over sweet).
2. They dont have any inventory listed for the buffet. If they could wish, they would change one or two items anytime in your course.
3.Frequent electricity cuts.
4.entrance was completely drenched with leaked water ,as it was raining outside. Please note that this restaurant is situated in a mall .lol
5. So , if u feel thirsty , they had only 2 drinks -unsweet jaljeera and a horrible butter milk. Not even a lime soda or a cold drink.
6.Service was not bad though. Staff courtesy was the only saving grace.
7. #DiscardSuchHorribleFood
Sourav Goel
Superb ambience and worth the money. We thought that the money is just for the buffet but the extravagant shows by artist and dancers were superb. Food was no doubt at its best
Naushad Ansari
Most of the food was not tasty.
Had too much loud noise.
Number of seats to eat are very less compared to people accepted on booking.
We have to wait for someone to free up table to eat.

Above all, the staff is cheating customers by asking them to fill feedback where he has already selected all good options and rated themselves 5 star rating in previous pages and left for us to to just enter some comments and your details like name and phone number.
Anagha Adishesha
Worst place to visit if u want to spend some quality time with parents .... Never go .... Hopeless staff who do not know how to speak ... Poor communication skill and highly impolite ....pls pls pls don't come ....
Not a calm place to have dinner.food and ambiance are ok.its like having dinner in a market place.its a costly street hotel.not a place to visit.a private party was going on that day.why this people mixing private party with individual customer.bad experience.not recommended.

Great place for catching up with friends for some quick lunch/dinner, this place is situated on the top floor of Central Mall, JP nagar.
I was here for dinner with my friends and were bowled over by their vegetarian fanfare.
Starting with the chats, specially the Alu tikki one, to the panipuri, and moving to the starters like paneer kurkure and chaps, we were already feeling full.
Since I wanted to have the main course, therefore got myself small portions of methi malai matar, daal makhni, baigan bharta, naan, a helping of their biriyani, chole and shahi paneer, loved it all.
Though not a big fan of methi, but this one definitely changed my mindset for methi. After this, we moved towards desserts.
They had gulab jamun, live Jalebi counter and phirni. My favorite was the phirni.
They also have a paan counter to cater to your various likes for paan, and have folk dance arrangements apart from bollywood songs being played. Staff is well trained and service is pretty good.
Definitely recommended.

Village - The Soul of India is a unique buffet experience with an ALL-YOU-CAN-EAT spread of delicious traditional Indian dishes. To top it off, they've got dhol, bhangra, garba, puppet shows, games and loads of fun for the entire family!

The spread boasts of Rajasthani, Punjabi, Gujarati, South Indian and Chinese, The buffet also has a number of live counters, where the chefs bring classics like Bombay Chaat, Pav bhaji, Dosa, etc alive for the guests.

The staffs are super hospitable. We were welcomed, shown around the restaurant and how the whole concept works. It is one of the most pleasing north fooding experience you can have in Bangalore.

Food wise review -

Gajar ka halwa : 4.5/5 (must try)
Rasgulla : 4.2/5

Starters : 4.3/5 ( a lot of variety)

Buffet : 4.4/5 (a true north indian meal in Bangalore)

A vibrant colourfully decorated place with family friendly environment, that's not the only things they offer, they have a fabulous spread of vegetarian food mainly focusing on North Indian food.

Went with couple of friends for dinner, was really surprised that they are offering so much with pocket friendly prices.

From salad section, to variety of appetizers, chaat section to main course which includes indian, Chinese , tandoor and few Italian dishes, the place serves it all. They have wide variety of desserts too.

With Punjabi music in background, rural village decor and lovely food, it makes for an ideal place to bring your family here for some fun time.

Apart from food, they have sections dedicated to some serious fun activities like shooting balloon game, palmistry and varies other stuffs.

Coming to food, their menu changes all the time. I loved what I ate that day. Started off with se chaas, went to the chaat section for some tangy Pani Puri and some aloo tikki chaat. Then tried some paneer kurkure, veg momo tossed in Szechuan sauce, dal wadi and soya champ.

In main course I loved the dal makhni, methi matar malai and baigan ka bharta.

For desserts I only tried the jalebi because I couldn't eat anything else, I was very full.

Loved the entire experience, danced with my friends on some Bhangra Dhol beats. True value for money. Do try this place with your family and friends specially if you love vegetarian affair.

Nice ambience & peaceful place with a few village gesture. The food is nice & tasty. Ample of spacing between tables for privacy between talks.
Manjunath Jagdeesh S
As the name says ambiance is designed to match village. Food taste was ok, however core village dishes are not really made available. It's the same Chinese / North Indian & South Indian food are being served. Tase is average.
Santhosh ESS
Just go for Ambiance, take photos, Play dandiya and come back. Don't go for tasty food there. We went on Thursday and the food was horrible. As the crowd was less, I think they have kept the stored food. Some weird smell/ taste is coming in the food. Even ice cream also tastes bad. Very less items were there for buffet. I wouldn't recommend anyone to go there.
Yash Rathi
The village, as the name suggests is a mash up of everything india.
Right from the entrance where a dhol welcomes you, the interiors are mashed from that of an old cafe to a dhabba.
There are hints of the indian cinema, entertainment truly in all punjabi folk songs and circus stunts.
One couldn't stop smiling once they enter.
The food here has a wide variety. There around about 3 starters and chats separate. I would recommend this section.
Their main course has some fantastic dishes. Their paneer and the biryani pulav is amazing.
Even their pasta has a good taste.
They have a live tandoori roti section and live jalebi section as well.

Truly a good option for vegetarian family dinners.
Rekha Sharma
Celebrated my Mom's birthday here with my family. It has beautiful Rajasthani theme.
This is a buffet place and has good variety. Little dissaointed with the desserts as they are not up to the mark. I liked the welcome drink and papad paneer in their starters. They served pan at the end which was okay.

If you are looking for a timeout with family or friends in an ethnic setup, Village- The soul of India is a must visit. Nested on the 6th floor of JP Nagar Central Mall, it can be a little confusing getting there. So go upto the 4th floor, follow the footstep stickers to the escalators on the other side to go up to the restaurant. The ambience is very soothing and puts you at ease right away. There are bits and bobs all over for one to look around before you settle down to your meal. Kids play area, puppet show, on the spot entertainment, it's all happening here!
Coming to the food, being a vegetarian, I was very happy at the spread. The Chaat thela with the usual fare of Pani puri, dahi puri etc is a sure shot winner. Do try the Palak pakoda chaat. There are other assorted starters like Honey Chili potato, Pan tossed momos and such too. My personal opinion, they can stick to the one cuisine that they represent here rather than trying to please all palates. After all there must be a reason why people visit a Rajasthani/Gujarati restaurant! That said, everything tasted really good.
There is a separate live kitchen where you get your hot breads and piping hot jalebi. Followed by the buffet area with a bit of everything for everyone. Food tasted good. Jalebi was my personal favourite in the dessert section, second favourite, hot Gulab jamun with ice cream. Oh and there's a separate Mocktail counter where you get beverages like Jaljeera, juices etc. Ice creams are served at this counter as well. Rasgulla was a bit of a let down as it wasnt its usual spongy self. Overall, a good place to enjoy food with family and friends.
Ambience - 4.5/5
Food - 4.5/5
Service - 4.5/5

Also to keep the kids entertained there wer an araay of games and also a live candy floas counter
If you come here with larger groups , they also arrange games section which is super fun .

If your craving for some pure veg food with great ambience give this place a try and you wont be disappointed.

Apart from food they also had live shows performed by the artists from different regions and along with that they also played games involving the customers which was actually great fun. It is a great place for family get together.

It is a vegetarian buffet but does not disappoint you with the taste at all. They had live counters for chats serving Dhai puri and pani puri. They also had welcome drinks-butter milk and jaljeera.

Starters

• Rawa Paneer Wada- was perfect
• Potato Wedges- Loved it

Main Course

• Hot Roti/Naan(Butter Optional) - perfect with all the gravies
• Paneer Kadai- have had better ones
• Aloo Masala- was very good, must try
• Punjabi Chhole- Loved it
• Dal Tadka- star of the main course .one of the best I have tried of late
• Veg Pulao- Good
• Steamed Rice-ok
• Baigan Bhartha- Must try too. Loved it

Desserts

• Jalebi- hot and juicy
• Gulab Jamun- very Good

A buffet is priced around Rs 550/-and taxes.

Service was just amazing. Warmth of place even better. Staff were top of their game. Good Job Team!!!

My Ratings

Food 4.5/5
Service 5/5
Ambience 5/5
Value for Money 5/5

I will definitely visit this with my family and would recommend others too. The name justifies the concept and the foundation of this restaurant.
Yes its a complete village in itself. That too in a mall!!

This place implies a entry charge which includes food, welcome drinks and desserts!!

The ambience of this place is superb, resembles a typical village with seatings made up of wooven jute , khatiyas , a central banyan tree something very native to our rural India!

The food fare here is mostly North Indian and it's delicious.

The welcome drinks consist of jaljeera, buttermilk and orange cooler.
The jaljeera and buttermilk is worth a mention

Also they have live chat counter which makes unlimited servings of Pani Puri, dahi Puri, aloo tikki and papdi chat!

I was also in love with the love starter counter consisting of momos, masala papad crumbed panner, soya Tikkis and lots more

Also you will find salad counter for the health conscious.

The main cource spread was something that was worth mentioning.
Loved the Dal makhni and Jaipur aloo dum .all of the main cource dishes were done right.

The elaborate spread of desserts was a classic way to end the night .gulab jamun fabric, balushahi name it and they have got it!!

Also they host some fun musical events likes live dhol , games for a huge crowd .
The kids can keep themselves busy with some fun games on board.
The live candy floss counter will surely keep them going!!

Verdict:
Pure vegetarian bliss!
No alcohol served
Ideal for families and larger groups

Ever planned to get out of the Crowded life into a peaceful rural area?? What if I say we got a Village in this crowded Urban setup. Village the soul of India is a perfect paradise to get out of the busy Urban life and have a peek at the ongoing Village carnival. Located at the 3 places, this is a place where they provide a unique experience of Village life. It is located on the 5th floor of Central Mall JP Nagar. They serve Vegetarian Indian cuisine which I loved it.

Ambaince: as I suggested, the complete theme is of the Village, with trees, carts, carnival, cotton candy, Kulfi, puppet shows, Pan shop, and a village well. The seating looks good. Spacious for 100-200 people. And also there will be regular live performances and also there is a kids zone.

As it is a buffet system, We had to explore every counter for Drinks, Starters, Chaats, main course, and desserts.

We started with the drinks - I had masala Chaas which was a refreshing drink for me. Loved it.

I had some fruit salad and Chana Aloo Salad which was good.

I reached Chaat counter and explored the Dahi Puri, Masala Puri, and Pani Puri and I loved them all. Was Nostalgic by the taste.

Then tried Soya Chap which was good. Honey Chili Potato was amazing. (recommended)

I got some crackers and papad and I went to the Live Tandoor Counter.

You wish what type of Assorted bread you want you will get it. The best part is you can apply ghee there as much as you can.

I tried Dal Makhni, Chana , Paneer , Veg haandi Kurma and a kulcha and Naan.

I loved the taste. Best Indian meal with the heart full.

Then I had the Veg Biryani, Bisibele Bhaat, and Noodles.

Biryani was good, but I felt Bisibele bhaat was a disaster. Please work on it or remove it from the menu.

For Desserts, I had Balusha, Gajar ka Halwa and Jamoon. I loved them.

I would love to bring my family and friends to the place again. I would say it was a worthy experience for INR 450.

Verdict:

Food: 4/5

Service: 4/5

Ambaince: 4/5

Adios

Akhilesh Math,
