Review Chez Mariannick - Bengaluru

Ankan Bezbaruah
Tucked away from the main road. This is a hidden gem as many of them have pointed out. Hardly anyone was there when we went there (Sunday afternoon). The menu is limited but is more than enough. Some really great choices for pizza, tarts, quiches, lasagna and salad. Definitely recommend it. They make everything fresh right off the oven.

A hidden gem. Located on an inside road in Whitefield, this place has a very unique ambience, nice staff and good authentic food. Pizzas and Lasagna were yum, lemon tart was alright. Definitely visiting again as the menu has a lot of interesting things!

Hands down this is the best pizza I've had in Bangalore. The ambience is really nice. It's quiet, chill, allowing you to focus on the food which is fresh and delicious. The service staff is minimal but courteous. No haggling over service charge, no added taxes, no paid water, it's just a plain good experience.

3 mins walk from Dmart Whitefield, this is a real gem that has stayed hidden from the commotion of the city crowd for years. Discovered it recently, went to check it out, was mesmerized wholeheartedly. The sourdoughs were served as complementary dish. The pizza (fermiere) was awesome - & will beat any pizza maker around the city. Rest of the stuff was pretty good as well. Disclaimer : if you are a high-on-ambience person or music freak, this ain't a place for you. This is for the quiet-&-dim-lights-loving peeps. Will definitely visit again. Update : been there twice more already. Tried Lemon & chocolate tarts, veg lasagna, pistou pizza, cheesecakes, creme brulee & much more. Can't say I've been disappointed by ANY of the items so far. Such a wonderful place this is!

Loved this place! Off the main road so it's quiet and peaceful to sit outdoors, though even the interiors are quite charming. Pizza was amazing, never had a whole wheat pizza base that I ever liked before Chez Mariannick. Best creme Brulee I've ever had, hands down.

When I first read about this place on the internet, I instantly fell in love with the concept. A homely setting that serves fresh pizzas, quiches and desserts. The icing on the cake was the fact that it's just a stone's throw away from my office. So after a stressful fortnight at work, we decided to check out this place and relax. When we arrived here, we were doubtful whether we provided the wrong location on the GPS. There were no sign boards on the outside. But the moment we entered the place, my spirits were high. Cozy seating and a menu that seemed like a warm hug! We ordered veg feast pizza, sweet corn-red pepper-blue cheese quiche, croissants and blueberry cheesecake. Pizza was one of the best i have ever tasted. Quiche was good, not exceptional. Blueberry cheesecake was like a dream. Croissants were good too. I should mention that the complementary bread that they serve is a bomb! Overall, had a great experience eating at this friendly and inviting place. It was quiet and peaceful. Loved the all-women staff there as well. This meal made me so happy today. Love to the people who conceptualised this ❤️ We will be back..many many times! Update - we went again to try their non-veg pizzas and tarts. Everything is delicious. The lasagna, chocolate cheesecake and chocolate tart were heavenly! The bakery section where they displayed the freshly baked bread was a beautiful sight.

We had been here 10 years ago and again last evening. It’s exactly like I remember. The entry road is unpaved muddy road, and the restaurant very unassuming but that’s what I love about this place. Nothing fancy, no frills, just good homemade kind of food. Love the rustic countryside vibe without actually having to drive to the countryside.

Great food!!! Mildly spiced pizza, which was nice. They do serve seasoning and hot sauce for those who need extra spice. Even the complementary bread they served was so warm and fresh . The pizza is baked in wood fired oven. We visited on weekday so we couldn't really taste any other baked goods. Will definitely revisit on a weekend. Also, they begin cooking only once you have placed the order, so do be patient . But I this place would benefit from a little better lighting at night. It was a little hard to find as there was no board outside this eatery. And the road and entrance does seem a bit shady. I honestly contemplated not going inside but glad I did. There is ample parking space outside though.

Came across this place via X. Went here as most reviews stated it’s a hidden gem & it truly truly is a gem tucked away in a quiet corner of Whitefield. Food is excellent, looks to be one of those restaurants where the focus is on feeding a few but feeding them well. Everything felt fresh. Definitely will be coming back again to try some of their croissants & Babkas

Ambience 10/10 Outdoor rustic setting with lots of trees and gentle breeze. Truely a hidden gem. I could spend all afternoon here. Food: 8/10 Excellent all wheat pizza crust Exquisite cheesecakes Things that can be improved: Strained Menu Complementary bread was a little cold and hard

Faire bombance! (Would be an understatement). I could keep going back to Chez Mariannick every single day of my life! The cozy aesthetic revives you as soon as you walk in. The outdoor seating is always my favourite. This place is run by a French couple, now managed by an Indian couple while they’re away. They have a cute kitchen in the back where all the delicious breads, croissants and quiches are born. You can customize your pizza the way you like and also opt for a meal combo, which includes pizza, salad and a drink. I always get the half pepperoni and half salmon spinach pizza. Love the combination of the two. The salad comes absolutely fresh with a side of bread. I also take home assorted croissants, a quiche and some fresh bread back home when I come to visit. Coming back for more!

A small French cafe/bakery almost in the middle of nowhere...you'll find it only if you're looking for it. Really good croissants, quiches and breads. They even have a wood fired pizza for that authentic taste. Very limited selection though...they serve crepes on Fridays and Saturdays and the rest of the week it's only pizzas. So don't get your hopes up too much.

Taste - 4/5
Ambience - 2/5
Menu variety - 2/5
Value for money - 3/5

It was very bad and unhygienic the staff and the place looked very dirty

It's a nice place a little away from the main road. The baguettes are good and the pizza is well made. The ambiance is very welcoming. The desserts are a class apart.

I would not recommend this place. The only saviour is the pizza which is also very average rest every thing about the place and menu is off.
Reasons:
1. Its a menu that doeant offer pizza A-la-carte.
So because of point 1, I had to take a full meal. I opted for the 700rs combo.
Talking about the food in details now.
2. Bread - why is this item even in the list. It's cold, chewy, burnt. It isnt even served with salsa or a dip.
Just inedible thick bread.
3. Salad - fridge cold cherry tomatoes, lettuce and sprouts. No salt. No olive oil. No flavours. The dressing smells pungent and is no way Italian.
4. We had pizza with mushrooms and caramelized onions. Onions were not properly caramelized. The texture and cheese was good. But I would only call it a little above average pizza. But at least it was edible.
5. Our cola cold drink had its fizz out. Come on, plz dont screw the bottled drink at least.
6. Blueberry cheesecake - okay, this one was the best among all the food items. So at least, we ended up with a good taste in mouth.

7. Ambience- it's a turn off. Dim sad lights, mosquitoes, old walls. It looks like they dont care a penny about ambience.

8. With a compulsory buffet menu to choose and with only pizza being edible and cheesecake worth eating, this is certainly an overpriced place.

So, please dont be fooled by their 4 stars in zomato and dont even think of trying this place.

Best pizza and chocolate cheesecake I've had in years

We ordered the 600/- meal, it was average.
The mixed salad was blant and the bread was hard and cold.
Pizza was merely the saviour but that too had no salt.
Worst part they don't accept cards , make sure u carry cash!

What an amazing pizza place. Quite literally a hidden gem. The crust was soft and crusty and beautifully bready from within and the toppings were generous. The croissant was soft and buttery and just perfect. The salad was just as good as it looked, very fresh, with an interesting dressing. The creme brulee had a much thicker caramel topping than usual but personally I loved that, though the texture of the custard could be better.
Austin Tauro
awesome wood fire pizza loaded with toppings and cheese. The banana cheese cake was perfect. They could reduce the sweetness tho.

We went for dining but indoor had only 3 tables and dimly lit up. A bit cramped up I would day and hence we decided to take away.
Abhirup Sarkar
The taste of the pizza with its toppings, cheese, wood fire effects enabled the pizza to be sublime..The behaviour of the staff and the fact that they do not advertise much just adds to the overall charm..A must visit

Croissants were amaze. Too good. Amaze balls.other stuff was ...okurrrr..but croissants...beautiful...

Not only are the pizzas incredibly delicious, this place makes the best creme brulee I've ever had! Beautiful little getaway in the heart of Whitefield.

This is a hidden gem and has the authentic French food. Pizzas are pure love. Croissants here are the best in Bangalore, as if you're eating them at a bakery in Paris or Nice. Lovely host! Must visit. Follow Google maps as it is easy to miss otherwise. Thank me later. :-)

The best pizza in Bangalore. And the prices are really very reasonable. The salad is fresh and incredible. I highly recommend this restaurant. Rustic, down to earth and delicious.

The list is huge.
1. The place is just wow. Nice ambience. Nice location.
2. The host is a real nice guy. Very friendly
3. The food is real good. The salad, pizza and dessert all were yummy enough. We got a half and half pizza, a creme brule and a pie for dessert.

Definitely a would recommend place. Must visit once in your lifetime.

Located exactly on the lane opposite to kotak mahindra atm on Varthur Main road this place is a bit difficult to find. But once found it's a lovely cozy little place they serve one of the best pizzas in bangalore I obviously love their pepperoni pizza. The salad and the bread is amazing I love their homemade mustard sauce as well. But do keep in mind going for dinner you will be faced with musquitoes buzzing and irritating though they do put the musquito coil unfortunately the blessed musquito seem Immune. And I would strongly advice you to pick up the order yourself if you planning to have the pizzas at home as their delivery isn't that great and you may end up getting a cold pizza.

This place is a little hidden bakery and pizza place in whitefield . Pizzas are really good .They do not accept cards or even Paytm which is a hassle .The wood fired pizzas are good . Also their bread is worth recommending .

Chez Mariannick is a hole in wall cafe that is beautiful on the inside. Lovely green patch of lawn where you can choose to sit or tavern style indoor seating - pick what you'd like.
The Pies are good but the star of the place is the Banana cheesecake that is JUST AMAAAAAZING.
Its pricey but so worth it. I am a chocolate fan but at Chez Mariannick, I ALWAYS get the Banana cheesecake over the chocolate. Must try for those who want to taste a perfect dessert !

The former was at hand during our visit and he spoke on length while our order was being placed and eagerly enquired as to how we caïne to know about this place.
The pizza 's are OK yes OK not good Salads are confusing with salad dressings and bread is hard . we were told Wish their hospitality is as good as their pizzas.
Nashi Marwah
A cosy, quaint place, tucked away from the main road and far from the hustle. A nice home feeling coupled with authentic Italian food. If you are a real salad fan, this is the place for you!
Basmah Irfan
This place is a little hidden bakery and pizza place in whitefield. They have the best french bread and croissants in Bangalore. To get freshly baked croissants go there on a Saturday morning by 10-11 and grab all flavors - they have chocolate, plain and almond. They are absolutely delicious and buttery. If you love croissants then you really won't mind the traffic 😉

We have recently moved to Bangalore, our driver recommended this place as it is quite near to where we live. The pizzas are good, and the bread is amazing. Prices are good. It is a hidden gem!
Rohit Nambiar
Pizza here is awesome! It's really different from the other pizzas I've eaten down to the ingredients they use. The cheese they use itself is different yet awesome! I'd put these guys up with Brik Oven and the likes.
Ribhu Shadwal
Its a well hidden place, unless you are absolutely looking for it. No sign boards around. The wood fired pizzas are good. Also their bread is worth recommending. If you are looking to spend sometime over food with friends/family, I would recommend this place.
Samir Sirohi
The salad and bread isn't too good. The pizza was better but you can find better pizzas elsewhere easily. The ambience is bad with mosquioites and flies everywhere should you choose to sit in the open area.
Rahul Choudhary
Bread - It's hard and chewy and tastes amazing. But may not appeal to everyone.

Salad - didn't like the salad or the dressing.

Pizza - Margarita was just amazing. 5 stars for that. Cheese, sauce and crust everything perfect. The best that you can find nearby. The price is also reasonable. The other pizza that we ordered had capsicum and caremalized onions as toppings. Didn't like the idea of caremalized onions as toppings, raw onions would have better I guess.

Would definitely recommend for the pizza margarita and bread. Just amazing.

My favorite place in the whole of Whitefield area - cozy atmosphere, delectable pizzas - always freshly done, mouth watering desserts (their creme brulee is to die for :) ) and super friendly staff. Add to it the fact that it's affordable, then what's not to love about this place? Have been frequenting this place since the last 6 years - amazed to see the same standards and taste being maintained!
A cafe/restaurant is situated a lil inside and has all the possibilities of not being noticed. This proved to be an exception here. The pizza cheese was melting inside the mouth. Everything was so fresh and organic . Salad they served was right from the farms (I felt so) . Would recommend it to all who are fan of fresh cheese and organic food .

This restaurant represents all that can go wrong with absentee owners and incompetent staff. I ordered a crepe complete and a banana flambe crepe. The crepe complete was meant to be a buckwheat galette, but unfortunately the buckwheat wasn't very buckeeatish - it lacked the deep, nutty flavor that makes buckwheat unique. Nor did it have the deep brown color of a buckwheat galette - this was a pale crepe with an overdone egg. The egg in a crepe complete is meant to be runny! Anyhow, there was a woman who I tried to explain the problem to. But she doesn't understand the food and the woman who cooks it only seems to speak kanada.

The banana flambe crepe too suffered from an irredeemable gaffe: the chef flamed a raw banana, which even after being flamed was insipid and lacked sweetness. The chef then doused the crepe in an unseemly amount of castor sugar to mask the poor quality banana. I can believe that this place had it once, but it seems to have fallen into neglect.

The place is quiet and small ,tucked away from the busy junction . It’s a great place to have lunch .The pizza , salad and bread was delicious. Not to forget the banana cheese cake. I simply loved it and I can’t wait to go again. It’s unpretentious and has an easy going ambience. My only gripe was the drinks on the menu. I wish instead of bottled drinks they made some in-house lemonade or iced tea that would have gone down well with their delicious food.

Good taste and great ambience
The pizza is made on fire wood and has a smoky flavour to it definitely a complete package silghty heavy on the wallet

I think this place is overrated. My overall experience was not that great. There are no much options in the pizza. Pizza and the salad combo was not upto the mark. We have paid 800 INR for a pizza with salad. Really not worth. There are much better places to have pizzas. You may try it. I see that they have a bakery in the back which supplies some fresh & amazing bread products. You must try the bakery products.

Never knew this quaint bakery existed tilly German friend took me to it. She lives in Whitefield, I don't!

I've been searching for good bread for a while and am so fed up of the lack of binding agents that cause bread and buns to disintegrate.

I finally have found a good baguette, croissants & pizza to kill for.

The supreme pizza - bacon and pepperoni with the some amazing cheese - just wow.

Maria & Nick - take a bow!

Cheers & Stay Frothy!

It is the one of the best Pizza I have had in India. The rustic background is less created and more real. Every element from the brick oven to the detail of brushing off the flour with a beautiful bread duster snuggled its memories of the old world charm baking inviting the outdoor greens inside the cafe and taking the indoor warmth of the oven inside our pizza box made my day. Thank you creating such a beautiful space. It warms one's heart before reaching gastronomical pedestal.

This place started out as a boulangerie for expats serving excellent baguettes and bread. Today, they serve Bangalore some of its best pizza. The menu doesn't change. The salad doesn't change. Neither does the dressing. Same sprouts salad with a mustard dressing. But it's good every single time which speaks volumes about the consistency with which the place has been serving good food. Their la Bergere (caramelised onions with balsamic and goat's cheese) is my favorite pizza. And their banana cheesecake is one of the best desserts ever! Stayed by Shashi and Mariannick, this place, as odd as it sounds, is a Whitefield original and has stood the test of time. The service is minimal. The ambience is not much. Lighting isn't good. Mosquitoes will bite you if you sit outside. Bit I'll visit this place every single time I want to have a good pizza. They are most reliable :) Very reasonably priced too.

What was the common reply from the staff- “NO”

Sir, can you please serve the salad- NO
Sir, do you have ketchup - NO
Sir, can you add basil leaves - NO
Sir, do you accept card-NO
Sir, the bread is too hard to chew- This is how we make the bread.

If attached photos look good to you, give credit to me.
Customer- Low light ambiance, looks romantic. No sir you are wrong, there are hell lot of mosquitoes. You will be greeted with a Odomos spray and mosquito coil, how pathetic.

So for me ambiance deserves - 0/5.
Food- If you want to eat in restaurant then buffet is a must. Buffet contains salad, pizza, bread, desert and soft drink. FYI, the salad is pathetic, absolutely no taste. Bread is too hard to eat. We skipped the desert as it didn’t appeared appealing. So 0/5 for whatever I have mentioned in food.

Pizza- I really love there pizza, although the base is a bit thick. 4/5 for pizza

But every time I go there staff makes me so irritated. They are literally stupid. So for service 0/5

This restaurant maintains quite low profile status and the reason is - They don’t accept card, gives you fake bill with no gst no. written on that. So all this is done to save tax.

Suggestion: I would suggest to go for pizza takeaway. Croissants are tasty and you guys can try that too.

After hearing a lot of positive reviews from my French friends I decided to visit Chez Mariannack for lunch.
I couldn't find the place so I called up the owners who were very friendly and went out of their way to help me locate the restaurant. The property on the outside is basically a tinned shed which they have tried to make pretty with plants.
The restaurant was deserted with no customers at all.
However I must highlight my concerns about the overall hygiene of the place. The boy serving itself was wearing dirty worn out clothes which did not give me much confidence as he is also the guy who is preparing the food. He was not wearing any cap or gloves while handling the food. The place has a lot of flies and that in itself is not a good sign at an eatery. The spoons and plates pre laid on the table were full of dust and I had to request for new and clean ones.
As it was very hot (due to the tin roof, oven,no fan and no aircon) I requested for a fan and the boy brought a dirty old pedestal fan with dust which flew straight on to my face and table.
The restaurant walls and ceiling is covered with soot from the oven and layers of dust.
I ordered a pizza which was actually quite nice. However the salad that came with it was quite tasteless with a salty and sour dressing.Nothing to balance the tartness of the dressing...no fruit or sweet element to provide any relief to the palate. The coke served to me the first time was completely flat and I had to ask for another one which they promptly replaced. The staff are helpful and nice but the place is very shabby and poorly maintained.Perhaps at night with the lights on it might not to visible to people but in bright daylight the overall upkeep looks below acceptable standards.
I visited the bakery behind which was much cleaner but there were flies all over the breads and even though they had put a net on top of it the flies were still sitting on the net and making contact with the produce.
What a pity because I can imagine this place as a quaint little cafe and bakery which could've been a great hang out place with some fresh baked goodies, french coffees, financiers and crepes but it seems to be rather run down now...

If you want authentic pizzas with melt-in-your-mouth crusts and ingredients(which btw they import) baked to perfection, served in great style then go to this place and eat! They allow you to 'make your own pizza' too. The place is a little away from the main roads which imo is good because I love the quiet. Happy pampering your taste buds!

loved the food.. ambiance.. everything..
but the location is a bit difficult to find as couldnt find any markers on main road.. also if they could get more payment options...

Cozy little French pizzeria tucked away in the middle of nowhere. Great country vibes walking in. Nice naturally lit ambience resembling the barnyard Bakery.

But unfortunately the place isn’t managed very well, which clearly reflects in the end product. Apart from the big bowl of house salad with the lemon-mustard-vinegar dressing (or so I thought t was) which was quite a nice way to start the meal, the pizzas reeeeaaallly fell short.

Pizzas - 2.5/5 - Way too much cheese, on the pizzas. We ordered two 1/2 & 1/2s. One veg and one non veg (pork). Too much cheese on both pizzas, so much so that the rest of the toppings just don’t come through to one’s palate. The only half I liked was the onion jam and feta veg 1/2.. nice play on punchy flavours.

The base/dough itself was good, although it could be lighter in my opinion.. however, one can certainly appreciate that these guys have substantial bread/baking skill.

And finally the dessert - 3.5/5 and I’m being generous. Expect a lot more from a French patisserie?! The caramel custard was the only saving grace whereas the chocolate & toffee tart lacked balance.

Another thing that ticked me off was that the guys in the kitchen had no uniforms. The entire kitchen area didn’t seem too clean either. The French owner should really put in some quality measures in place considering she isn’t present at the outlet.

Come on guys, get better, you’ve got the ambience right, you’ve got the base right. Just work on your toppings, work on your desserts and most importantly on the professionalism and hygiene of your kitchen and staff.
It has been more than a year since my last visit. This eatery is located in a cute and quiet locale surprisingly isolated from the noise and traffic of the Varthur Road. It works a bit different from the typical restaurants. The menu is a bit confusing and I am yet to grapple the rationale about the half and the full packages. Never mind I enjoyed my pizza and salad. Coming to the seating everyone will love the outdoors with the beautiful stone seats and candle lit tables at dinner. The mosquitoes will tear you apart, so it is recommended to carry your Odomos 😀. The place allows you to bring their pets. The idea is good if the guests are genuine animal lovers. However during our visit the family at the nearby table had a noisy dog which did its bit. After we selected the pizzas they served bread and salad. The salad was good especially the cherry tomatoes which is a feature. The bread inspite of being tasty was a tad hard. Finally the wood fired pizzas arrived and we did enjoy them. My recommendation will be to have the thin crust as an option, maybe only thin crust. We also tried the tarts and cheese cakes over couple of visits. They were just ok. Overall a good dining experience. Now for the major turnoff. Pricing was around 1400 for two of us and it was an unpleasant situation when we were told that cards are not accepted. Now this happened prior to the demonotization saga. Hopefully the issue is resolved. It will be useful to know that before any further visits.

A cute little place tucked away on an inner road with a very rustic ambience. Reminded me of the movie 'Letters to Juliet'. There is only a fixed menu which consists of a salad,a soft drink, freshly baked bread and salad. The bread was a bit stale and hard but the salad and it's dressing was very nice. It was crisp and fresh. We tried the goat cheese onion jam pizza and the pepperoni pizza. They were extremely soft, cheesy and yum.

3 for good food, I wish I could give them 5 if the service would have been in a politer tone... Everyone in the staff and the owner are too arrogant to handle...I wish they would understand the difference between normal massages and WhatsApp msgs ( sarcastically) NONE...It seems the popularity is getting on their heads or they just don't know how to run good business... Whatever the case is we pay and eat atleast be polite to the people who r responsible for your beard and butter... Disgusting behavior... Thank god we were taught well.

Delicious pizza, thick with proper cheese and generously topped. The chicken one in particular is great. The kids love the crepes and their breads are great too. Top tip: get an Almond croissant fresh from the oven

Salad served at the beginning was delicious. The dressing is the highlight - you just can't get enough of it! Sour and tangy is the best way to describe it. Goes beautifully with the crisp lettuce and cherry tomatoes. The bread was a bit hard, but still very tasty. The pizzas - oh my god - the best I have had in ages! 8 slices of melt-in-your-mouth goodness. 😍 The base was soft yet firm, and the crust was a welcome change from the typical mass-produced pizza crust we're all used to (from places like Pizza Hut or Dominos). Shiva (the chef) is really good at his job and serves customers attentively with a warm smile.

Chez Mariannick is not a place with waiters at your beck and call. Don't expect someone to attend to you as soon as you look up from the menu. Go with the mindset of having a peaceful, relaxed meal that will truly indulge your taste buds.

Pizzas are generous and tasty.
Feels like home 🇫🇷
Desserts are incredible, crème brûlée is a must try.
Salt/Sugar crepes are also delicious.

Location is a bit tricky. Google maps doesn’t show it correctly. They do not accept cards or even Paytm which is a hassle. Nearest ATM is a kilometre away.

Pizza was good. Chocolate cheesecake is too sweet

I am a Pizza maniac. I can eat it anyday. This particular restaurant made me really happy. I ordered for 2 pizzas, one with the 4 cheeses (includes bluecheese) and the Veg Feast. The cheeses seemed obviously fresh, home made and melted in my mouth. Woodfire pizzas win anyday I tell you. Now one must remember everything one can have here is in the form of a 'menu' which includes a drink, salad and pizza. So it comes with the entire package and you cannot choose to just have the pizza. The salad is very average and a let down considering i am eating at a 'french' restro. Juice is all store bought like soft drinks or Tropicana kinds. But if you can ignore all that and go for just the pizza which is the agenda, this place will not dissapoint. Its in a rather shady area though, so if you are eating in, better come with a friend.
Vinod
Nice ambience. be it indoors or outdoors. Food is fine quality. But I guess the pizzas with goat cheese etc.. are more suited for foreigners' palette than ours.
Radhikanassa17
the pizza is perfection, so are the desserts
availability of variety of toppings like bacon and pepperoni over the perfectly baked wood fire oven pizza is amazing, the ambience of the place is amazing.
chicken prep is done once in a day which makes the chicken over the pizza a smell a little off, the staff is not very informing about what the concept of the restaurant is, but the taste covers for everything including the location.

Best crepes that you can get in Bangalore !
The brick oven pizzas are simply amazing. The breads are good.
Loved the meal. Will surely visit again.
They serve the best pizza in the region! Undoubtedly! Ambience is OK and staff quite polite. I guess they define the pizza (because it's not the Indian version which we usually eat). The cons is that there are very limited varieties and it's closed on Sunday. The money for pizza is definitely worth it.

- nymph eye

Places where a blog can lead! So read about this hidden treasure island on a blog post and decided to drop by. It's literally hidden as you won't find it unless you locate the tiny lane just close to Gurukul sports academy. They don't have a sign put up outside either. It's the fine music and sheer aroma of classic Italian food that will pull youbin (imagine jerry flying towards a cheeze block swimming in the aroma)! It's a neat place to start with. Set in a pure Italian countryside eatery style with stone dinning area outdoors and a beautifully arranged indoor seating area. The wood fire oven and the desert on display will welcome you heartily. You will have a veey concise menu, neat and straight. Basically you will have a choice from their many combo meals. Well, the best part is you will have a buffet with unlimited bread, oizza, desset, juice/soft drink. The beautiful cherry tomato and baby corn salad brings in the appetite you will need forward. Then you will offered focacia. They have choice of pizza (wood fire pizza) which will be on a thin crust. You will be asking for more even if you are full because it's the best thin crust wood fire pizza in town. Period. When you burp after the main course, you can walk a bit and come back. Because you will be spoilt for choice of dessert now. Choco brownie, lil pies with orangey zesty fillings, cakes and what not. I have a sweet tooth and I was literally drooling at the collection. The staff are very friendly and you will feel at home any day. The only two cons are that, their are mosquiots outdoor(but they ward those ofd with some repelant) and you cannot share a meal, unless you pay some extra, plusyou can't opt a la carte.

But, I am definitely going back to the place!

Pizza was great! The salad could have been better and the bread was cold. The menu should be more diverse. Good ambience and the service can be improved. Pizza was worth the money.

The photos and rating on Zomato made us pick Chez Mariannick for a meal for lunch on a Saturday afternoon. The pictures on Zomato make the it look like nice, open air seating in a garden, a vast place tucked away from the bustling city. Google failed to direct us to the outlet. Finally managed to reach after taking the tiny mud lane. If not for the directions provided to us over the phone, we would not have been able to make it. It is a family run outlet. Lots of dogs were also spotted at the outlet. We were offered bread and salads without being told the concept of the buffet variants to choose from. The bread was too hard to be fresh. Chopped veggies without any salad dressing were offered in the name of salad. Due to the limited number of combinations available, we ordered 2 full pizzas and 1 half as we were in a group of 4. The size of the pizza is 12 inches. Instead of offering multiple sizes of the pizza, they offer full pizza and half pizza for different prices - flat price of 600 and 400 respectively but salad, bread and soft drink is in the combo with the pizza irrespective of the size of the pizza. Additional charges - flat price 700 for any dessert to be added in the combo. All the prices mentioned are per person prices and additional charges - 200Rs to be paid if one opts for sharing. We ordered ham pizza, chicken and mushroom pizza aswell as chicken spinach pizza. All the pizzas tasted nice and fresh. The cheese and the toppings on the pizza were fresh probably all of it was prepared in-house. Ala carte option should be provided especially incase the caretakers are not to communicate effectively. Could improvize on the proffesionalism aspect to ensure better experience and customer satisfaction. Adding boards near the landmarks would help or even adding the information about the same on Zomato itself. Unique experience in a rustic setting but it could have been better.

It's a nice place to go with friends or your partner. Their meal options are nice. Pizzas are really good. I would suggest this place if you are not looking for fine dining or a romantic set up. Do try the crème brulee as it's world's best.

I am visiting this place for last 4 years.
Can't stop praising them.
one of the best pizza and baguettes in town.
Salad is great and the calm atmosphere is wonderful.
Best thing which makes this place outstanding is their pizza.

keep up the good work.

So far one of the best pizzas in town!!! I absolutely lovvvved the brick oven pizza. The fact that I travelled over 16km to eat this pizza speaks well for this tiny little rustic restaurant. The salad is fresh and vibrant. The breads are extremely delightful. I thought that the dessert was exceptional! I think everyone needs to try their chocolate cheesecake. I cannot fathom how much I appreciate the food at this place. It's definitely worth visiting.

Must visit during family occasions - Bday, Anniversary.
You will not find similar pizzas anywhere in Bangalore.

Surprised that not many in Bangalore are aware of this place.

Food quality : 5 (Owners oversee the operations)
Food variety : 4
Ambience : 4.5 ( .5 reduced due to mosquitoes)

Still would go for 5* rating for the core values of the owners !

Place for a pizza lover . You have different types of options in veg and non veg pizza . They will give a large bowl of salad and baked bread and one complimentary juice (of your choice ) . Lots of variation in crepe and dessert is yummy. Only problem in outdoor sitting .

Ok pizza but rude and discourteous staff

Visited this place on a Monday evening. Not a soul in sight, entire place is deserted. Order 3 pizzas - Margarita, Le Berger and Le Fermier.

As the weather was nice we asked if we can have pizza inside without using cutlery or can we sit out in the open and have the pizza?

Staff was discourteous and replies rudely no. The whole place is empty duhh...acting so pricey as if the place is jam packed. Such attitude may work in france but certainly not in India.

Coming to the pizza out of the 3 pizza Le Berger was the only one I found interesting. Orion jam with goat cheese was really good. However, the mozrella used is thick and turn chewy when cold rendering pizza rubbery. The menu prices are too high and do not does justice to what's on offer.

The dessert looked unappealing and did not seemed fresh so did not bother ordering.

Skip this place and you maybe better off.

One of the best pizzas I've had in town... This place is located in a tiny lane, easy to miss. It's a tiny, cozy cafe with a large woodfired oven inside. The seating might get a little cramped up and can be uncomfortable when the cafe is full. We went when the cafe was quite empty, so we didn't face any problems. The pizzas were simply amazing. They were loaded with toppings and the cheese simply melted in our mouth. My personal favorite was goat cheese and onion jam. I really enjoyed the pizzas here. I'd love to go back...

Came here twice now. The ambience is to die for, it emulates a rustic French restaurant. The food is all made at the location, this includes the cheese and bread! Their menu system is different but each dish is quite brilliant. Fair warning at night there's quite a few mosquitoes so cover up. Also no air conditioning but very large fans so shouldn't be an issue. They offer crepes, gazette and pizzas. Salad and bread are on the house and also their vegetables are so very fresh!

Chez marrianck. What a place and great food. I Had read a lot about the place and one of my friend suggested as well. So we decided to give it a try and trust me you would be surprised.
The place is a little hard to find the first time. It is located inside a small lane besides D-mart. But once you reach the place it is totally different from the surrounding. It is calm and quiet. They have indoor as well as outdoor seating. Never tried the indoor one. The staff is very courteous. They all speak English unlike some reviewers have mentioned before.
Coming to food there are roughly 10 non veg pizza to choose from and there are crepes as well. I have not tried the crepes yet. You can have half or full pizza with salad and bread. For me half is enough although I do feel like going for more. The complementary salad and bread is amazing. There are usually 4 or 5 desserts at the counter. Trust me don't go by looks of those desert, they are simply delicious. On my last trip I tried chocolate cheesecake and it was delicious.
This place to me feels like a small pizzeria tucked in some small town of Italy and the flavours are as well Italian. If you are someone who instead of liking conventional pizza likes the overloaded topping on your pizza, this is not the place for you. This is an authentic pizzeria like the ones you find in Pondicherry.
I have visited the place twice so far and the only negative part about this place is it ruined every other pizza place for me.

I found the link of this place in an article stating hidden places in bangalore and it was actually difficult to find this place but trust me it was worth it. It wasn't a crowded place and hidden from the hustle bustle of the bangalore life. Time actually slows here. I loved this place and the food. So these people have only 1 menu for the dine in people. It's actually a combination of salad, bread, juice, pizza and a dessert. It depends upto you which combo you want to take. Everything here was home-made. Absolutely loved it.
Must try.
Happy eating :D

Good pizza and very nice place to dine out in evening. Very authentic italian pizza in Bangalore. Location is little difficult to fine but once you reach it's a great place.

Nice concept, good pizza and relaxing ambiance.
The way this place has been put up, I think owner do not want people to know about the restaurant. No sign board on road, No lights on restaurant signboard.
I tried to find this place during dinner time and it was hard.

Once you reach, you won't regret.
Menu is simple.
You get salad n bread with all your meals. then you can choose to have half pizza (i think atleast two people would be needed for that) or you can go for full pizza and then come dessert.
3 different price range depending on what you choose.

Pizza have limited choice but good ones
Though if you are looking for typical indian pizza then its not for you. Most of their offerings are bland ( how it is in europe) .. you have chilli flakes and oregano as sprinkle.

I ordered veg feast, veg campagnrade and La supreme. All were very good.
Also you get cold drink with your meal (unlimited top up)

On a nice cool day you would love to sit in their outdoor seating
Over all a good place.

Loved it!
A quiet little hidden place on a busy road.
Loved the salad, fresh cherry tomatoes and sprouts.

Had the 3 cheese pizza, it's the best pizza I've ever had. It was all really fresh.

The banana toffee cheesecake was to die for!
Beautiful place, wholesome food, but could probably work on keeping the mosquitoes away. Should also mention that the pizzas are part of a package in the beginning itself.

I was quite surprised to find such a beautiful place hidden on the busy Whitefield road. Right next to the Dmart in Siddhapura there is a bhagini and a clinic next to it. Take the road inside and you will find this beautifull restaraunt. It has a very beautiful setting with stone tables outside. The interesting fact about this place is that they have only combos as seen in the menu. You get a pizza, salad, bread and a desert, based on the combo you select. The bread is a bit hard, but the pizzas are awesome. I tried the Campagnarde and La Supreme which were really good. The cheese and bacon just melt in your mouth.

Pretty disappointed! Rustic feel and all, I found the Staff, service and the set up..pretty amateur..

First menu..limited to pizza, salads and few deserts..second its a package..this needs to be communicated..which the attendants did not do a good job..

Regarding food..the salad was dry and stale..may have been cut in the morning and it just sat there only the table..I did. It have courage to touch it...the salad dressing was some mustard vinaigrette...frankly it was just some mustard sauce...diluted with water..crap.

Pizza ordered the pepperoni pizza..now I am scared..if the pork pepperoni was good quality..or will I carry infection...cheese, pizza dough or pepperoni frankly nothing to write home about...

The place seems like a adventure not run with commitment or integrity...

This place is located away from the main road, so you need google maps to locate it :p. Ambience is beautiful with outdoor seating and they have big ovens in open. There menu is little wierd, but has complete meal combo- green salad, amazing authentic pizzas and drinks(soft drink or juices).
It is a quite place. I recommend this, if you want authentic pizzas with great ambience.
PP
Its a little inside from main road. They serve in a per person manner - salad was fresh (cherry tomatoes, sprouts etc), bread was soft, had pepperoni pizza & chicken spinach pizza (good base, high on cheese content). Caramel custard was good (nicely caramelised).

One of the most beautiful places in town. Heartening service, crisp fresh salads with a deadly dressing, crusty French bread, thin and crispy pizzas, the best creme brûlée in town! Pizza lovers must visit
Anisha Jain
Loved this place for the food as well as ambience. We had each taken a combo which consisted of salad, bread, half pizza and drinks . The Salad was really good ! And the pizza - best of its kind :) would love to go there again !

I don't what thing about this place that makes me like it so much. It feels cozy. Its basically tucked away, difficult to find unless you know that its there. It gives off an authentic feeling somehow. The pizzas are tasty as hell. Give it a whirl if you are in the area.

The restaurant ambiance is reminiscent of something one would find in Provence or Tuscany. In keeping with this the ambience is basic quant and functional. The menu isn't extensive, but is more extensive than similar style Italian or French counterparts.
Likewise the indoors/ outdoors contributes to this charm (with its limitations because it's not meant to be 5 star AC etc).
The food is great - from an expat point of view the best bread in Bangalore, the menu has an authentic European taste too - I'd forgotten how good quiche can be !!
The restaurant does exactly what it says - it's very reminiscent of rural south European eateries with great desserts and take out bakery.
Not necessarily where I'd take my wife for our wedding anniversary but perfect for a great meal in quiet intimate surroundings that transport you out of the bustle of the city.
A little gem to escape the city :)
Horrible experience. We have gone for dinner after reading amazing review here but a very bad experience. Food was pathetic..we ordered pizza and it was smelling and we couldn't eat even a single slice.. we tried salads and garlic bread and u can't even eat anything. On top it's expensive.. A big no for this place.
If you want to have a great pizza and enjoy your food at a very quiet place , then this is the restaurant for you.
This place is located near an empty field where trucks are parked and when you look at it from outside, it won't look that great, so keep aside all hour doubts and go for it ;)
The place is well decorated and an old rusty look is given to it (well, the owners have saved a lot ok decoration but managed to make it look different in a good way )
Ambience - 4/5
The service is prompt and on time - well the restaurant was almost empty and it is that way most of the time
Service - 5/5
Coming to the food.
They give you a complimentary salad & bread, I didn't like the salad much but the bread was good
We ordered la fermiere and la pepperoni , both were good.
We also ordered 2 deserts, creme caramel and mix nut caramel tarts and both were really good.
Food -4.5/5

The restaurant does not accept cards so be sure to carry cash. It came out to around 1600 for 3 people.

One thing I didn't like about their menu is that they have a very weird combo system and you need to order from that combo, which doesn't make much sense and unnecessarily complicates the billing .

Though located in a creepy street off Varthur road, the restaurant has a cosy ambience. We went for a quiet dinner on a Monday night.
The pizzas were amazing. Served with a huge bowl of salad and a bread bowl, the meal was filling.
I also ordered a creme brulé (my current fave dessert) and wasn't disappointed.
However, getting a cab was very hard as the driver got lost and we had to eventually cancel it. The owner and the guys at the restaurant were very helpful and even went all the way to the main road to help find the cab even though it was way past their closing time. These little gestures of kindness are what makes me want to go back there again.
Also, the pizzas. Yum.

(Mostly a veg food review)

So this is how this is how this place works.

See the first menu? That has the 5 veg pizza options. And that's all your dinner/lunch/snack menu. But you don't have the option to choose just one pizza and get a feel of the place.
See the bottom half of the first menu. The footer almost added as an afterthought? That's your per person meal options. And you HAVE to choose from among them. Even after they've kept the bread in your face and you realize it may be completely inedible.

But you might have read the reviews already and be thinking that the pizza might just salvage your evening. And let me tell you, you cannot be more wrong.
So you wait for your half and half margherita and veg something pizza while pushing aside the weird salad, bread and sour/stale sauce trying not to pay attention to the bleak surroundings. You look around a bit at the unappetizing desserts. Then the pizza arrives and your day just gets all the more worse. I wouldn't say it's the worst pizza I've ever had, but clubbed with the experience, it comes close.

Maybe we just had a bad day. But I wouldn't suggest going there unless you're feeling exceptionally lucky.

A friend told about this cute little secret pizzeria and we decided we had to try it out! They have a limited menu but what is there is good. Their pizzas are authentic and thin and tasty! Their desserts (chocolate toffee cake, strawberry tart) are amazing! Could go back just for the sweets!
They serve crepes too but never found them there! Went there for lunch once and it was only open for takeaways!

An amazing place to have authentic woodfired pizzas in Bangalore. Though it is little far from the city, it is worth going if you want to have feast for your tummy. There are limited options available but never the less people over here are open to customize the pizza the way ou want to. The unlimited salad with figer licking dressing and the breads is something which not many restraunts in Bangalore offer.

Depressed about not being able to afford going to Europe or for that matter either France or Italy? I have one suggestion that can make you feel better...... On a full stomach that too!!
I've been here before, their menu sounds a little complex but isn't... They have a three course meal for their brunch, serve some wine ( not sure if they still serve it) and tetra pack juice. Serve a salad with baby tomatoes and also sprouts without any salad dressing which they give you separately.
The salad is accompanied by their in-house baked bread which is really really nice.
Their pizzas are baked in either wheat or regular dough which is kick ass because it gives you a perspective of how healthy they are. Their oil is imported too from my understanding.
I've had the veg wheat pizza here which was amazing.
What's to understand here is that abroad in Naples, pizzas are usually not shared (10 inches) and that's cause they aren't stuffed the way we do it here. They use spinach, at times the sauce isn't tomato as well!! This may seem weird but tasted nice as well.
The interiors are different, gives you a feeling of sitting in a really clean and open area. They do have seats inside but the food served goes well in the open air

This time around we tried their pepperoni and their spinach with chicken and caramelized onions. Both the pizzas were good. They were left over for the next day and unlike the branded ones we get now a days, the pizzas tasted the same, the spinach did not soak in three cheese - it could be separated.
The Pepperoni was really nice.
I'm not sure if they serve thin crust but they pizzas themselves were really good with the medium crust they come in.

The delivery time was about 40 minutes and it's Whitefield so that's OK.

Try them out, the taste may seem acquired at first but ohhhhh it so grows on you!

Cheers.

Good ambience and nice location, calm peaceful outside seating is good... but disappointed with food, Salad is dry. Pizzas are okay. Will try one more time bcoz I heard lot of good reviews about this one

This difficult to find place is nicely tucked away from all the hustle bustle and traffic of Whitefield main road. Run by a French guy who has moved to India with family, they serve the best wood fired pizza in town along with some yummy desserts. Definitely recommend for a quite sit down lunch. They do not serve on Sundays. Only take aways for Sunday lunch.
