Review Soi & Sake - Bengaluru

Loved the food, the ambience and excellent service in this fine Asian cuisine restaurant. We opted for Chinese food. All items were freshly cooked and served hot. They have a wide range of cocktails. I had Gin and Curry Leaf Smash, which was so good... cool and refreshing.... highly recommended.

For Monday evening when we were there for dinner, the place was moderately occupied. We had booked in advance through known folks, so we were expected and had a good table marked out for us. The place is quite substantial, but seemed to be running below potential with many sections unoccupied, nevertheless the overall atmosphere was reasonable if not what it would have been if it was firing on all cylinders We had Sushi of many kinds in a boat and a few speciality ones outside the platter. They were all uniformly good. The sashimi was composed of firm slices, cut a little thicker than at other places, but richer for it. The tuna and salmon were buttery, rich and melt in mouth. The various fish were all fresh and carried their original flavors without a trace of decay. The Ramen bowl was similarly deliciously hearty. The teppanyaki style chicken had perfect balance of tangy, sweet and spice. Overall the food was not high cuisine but delicious, hearty meal that you may expect to have in a solid middle of the road, soul food approach. As such, probably even better than the fancier takes. The service was where there a bit of lack, it was super friendly and polite, but was mostly made up of very young fresh blood, who were just beginning to learn the ropes. Almost at all times our servers had to go get their seniors to help, which they did, but just took a while. The bartender who was doubling up as a server too to help the young lot dished up a very good dirty martini, something that hit the spot. Overall, a truly good experience !!

Great ambience and generally a good place to sit, eat, and drink. The staff is extremely considerate and accomodated a request that I had, pretty promptly. Tried soup and noodles here and both turned out to be healthy and yummy. This is a good place to unwind and relax on a Sunday afternoon, if you are in the mood for Japanese and Chinese cuisine.

Loved the ambience and the furniture was comfortable to sit in for a couple of hours. Placement of tableware and the rotating centre for our table of 6 was just right. Prompt service by the staff, who were courteous and helpful. Our order was yummy. Our portion of one each of 4 dishes was enough for the 5 of us.

We ordered ramen bowl from here. And I would say I really liked them better than the ones i had from other restaurants. Staff was nice too.

Great sushi. We were served by Snehashish whose recommendations were spot on! Be sure to make some room for dessert - their Kaffir lime icecream is delightful :)

The sushi was good but not too much of variety. Went here for Valentin dinner with other couples. The noodles were not liked by any of us. The Pina cola was good but the virgin one was filled with only ice and tasted like ice water with some cream. The Japanese salad was awesome, the soup was yummy, the lamb and chicken dishes were too delicious. The fried prawn was too salty so we returned it. The dimsim was good. The Japanese dessert was yummy and interesting though for the amount charged I think they could do better.

To begin with, Sake is served here and they have three different verities. They also have a Teppanyaki live counter and a Sushi bar! Service is attentive and assisting. Loved the fermented Kimchi.

I had Vegetable Ramen in Dashi stock! Bowl was served with fresh seaweed, and Shitake, Silken tofu with other veggies. Broth is tasty and appetising.
The sushi is to die for!!! Friendly staff. Menu is kinda pricey but I guess it’s justified cuz it’s a five star hotel. It’s quite a drive from the city. Right across the International Airport.

We had lunch on at this place and service was absolutely commendable by Mr. Maneesh. We had Chinese spread vegetarian options. All the dishes right from Hot and sour soup to desert were really nice. Fresh ingredients and great taste. Must try the dimsums... We will definitely come again to try Japanese spread..
Excellent choice for Sushi. Great customer service and attention to detail.
I was told that the Salmon is imported from Iceland. I love the way they present and care for each customer.
Definitely worth a visit and of course it’s Taj Hotels the pride of India.

The crispy honey chilli lotus stem and water chestnut is hands down awesome, the fried rice, a common Chinese dish just....has a different taste to it. The noodles are equally good and one should definitely try out the lobster.

Nice sushi place. We came on business trip to Bangalore. We stayed in Taj Banglore. Because it is walkable to the airport. Tried this restaurant. Loved loved the sushi. Very well presented and sophisticated. Taste wise after eating I felt wow !!! Kungpao chicken is also very good. Tried macha ice cream with choco lava. Top notch !!!! After finishing dinner we walked with a smile on our face :) :) :).

I am always entranced by any Taj, but this one near the airport really took my breath away. The ambience here is remarkable and the restaurant is near the entrance to the hotel.

Slightly subdued in lighting, the space is not a large one and their Teppanyaki table is located in a niche of the restaurant. Service is always perfection personified at Taj, and it was no less remarkable here.

I was however not very impressed by the food here. The honey chilly chicken wasn't remarkable, and it may have been a bad selection on my part. Spicy lemon coriander soup was however a very flavoursome dish. The main course is pretty decent as well.

Expensive, of course, but made affordable by the availability of Zomato Gold. While my experience here was good, I personally felt it didn't live up to the standards that Taj generally upholds itself to. I would still consider paying a visit to the other restaurant in the same hotel.

I stay in central Bangalore and it would really be a long 45-50 mins ride to reach Taj Bangalore. But I would genuinely travel so far for the food.
The food is absolutely mind blowing.
Love the salmon roll there.
Employees also take care of your needs and wants within the restaurant itself.

Booked myself a meal here. The manager Mr Vineet has been extremely hospitable. Simply put this experience is unforgettable. The staff is friendly and fantastic.

During my visit to Bengaluru, had dinner at Soni & Sake restaurant..
Excellent place with great ambience. I ordered Vegetable Dimsum’s which was soft and melted in my mouth. In main course ordered for Phad Thai Noodles with Vegetable in Soya sauce which was the best I had ever. Beautiful presentation of the food and unobtrusive service..
tanks to the management for the wonderful food

I tried this restaurant on my stay at Taj Bangalore. Being a big Chinese / Japanese food fan.. I decided to order Xo Seafood and Egg fried rice. It met all my expectations.. Then I went ahead to try their soft drinks /Mocktails.. I must say it was quite an Innovative idea.. Mandarin Sling and Green Dragon.. They have a key ingredient which gives of Chinese and Japanese Cuisine.. Soya sauce and Wasabi respectively.. It's a must try!! The restaurant staff Jyotin, Rakesh and Leiya were very kind enough to take review on both the drinks personally.. Thoroughly enjoyed their service and hospitality.. Will surely visit to taste the other stuff on the menu..

In the beautiful, yet intimate Soy and Sake, we were greeted, seated, and received expert advice concerning our before dinner drinks from Leiya. Even as we were being seated, Nanda, without even being asked, had chilled milk brought to our table. He remembered, from our previous visits, that this is what my husband wanted for every meal!
Chef Subodh prepared a wonderful dinner. Sandeep was so efficient as to be nearly invisible.
We also were pleased to meet Chef Rama Lama, who was responsible for our perfectly crisp and light spring rolls and the delicately balanced flavors of our dim sum.

I selected the chefs menu for Chinese and Japanese and I was served best bits from the menu and each and every item was divine! From the starters to the desert every item was freshly prepared did not feel stale or over fried! The host Ms Leiya also was extremely courteous and best part was she waited till I could actually get over with my starters... if you craving for a sushi you must visit Soy and Sake - fresh ingredients and amazingly prepared!

Maki sushi was well made, though there are restaurants in the city with a better flavour. Hot and sour soup was too sour and so rich in cornflour that it became too saucy. Though they changed the soup on request, I was surprised to have this quality leave a taj kitchen.
Didn't eat anything more after the disappointing soup.

Went there a while back and I must say it's the best Chinese I've had in a long time. The Peking duck was outstanding. The service was excellent and the chef would come over and ask if everything was fine. Both the Chinese and Japanese dishes were great.

Trademark Taj service-unbeatable! This restaurant claimed to serve Japanese AND Chinese with equal elan. I was justifiably worried, but all my fears were allayed when the appetisers arrived : seaweed salad, california roll, tuna sashimi and a tangy toss up of lotus stem-water chestnut. Each dish was a 10/10. I ordered a couple of Old Fashioned, they were absolutely brilliant. Some great mixologist at work there! Now, I judge a good Chinese chef with his ability to make pan fried noodles-chef Subodh Upadhyay creates an amazing rendition with snow peas and crunchy broccoli. The dish was perfectly complimented with a grouper in superior Szechuan sauce. Food cooked with passion. Cocktails mixed with zeal. Service that anticipates your needs. One can die peacefully after a meal like this. Taj is Taj.
