Review The Coorg Food Co. - Bengaluru

Just like the food, which was true to the dishes and authentic. The service was quick and the food was warm and fresh. We ordered the sanas, which was light and fluffy, the chicken curry with rice combo were truly delicious. The coconut in the chicken was simply yum and the mutton soup was perfect.

Food is still good, but felt has lost a bit of zing what it used to be earlier. Pork curry was outstanding though. So was the puttu platter. The jaggery Kaapi in the end was lovely !! Pest controller required i guess. Saw a couple of small insects at the table and showed them to the service team.

The food is good; it's on the spicier side, so let them know if you want it less spicy. We ordered koli (chicken) curry combo with ghee rice, noolputtu (strong hoppers), koli barthad (chicken roast in traditional coorgi spices), and pandi barthad (coorgi pork). We also had their kokum, passion fruit, and lime juices. The only items that want up to par was the chicken curry, because the chicken wasn't optimally cooked for us. They give a complimentary bella kaapi (jaggery black coffee) at the end of the meal. The service is a bit slow, so the wait times between dishes is slightly longer than is usual at restaurants. They also run out of certain items by 2:45pm. However, there's a buffet you can take advantage of on Sundays. The restaurant is located on the second floor of the building that shows up on Google location.

The Coorg Food Company - A modern twist to Kodava cuisine. It is pretty likely that this is the only place where you can get smoked chicken - super yummy! We couldn't get enough of the Thith Pandi, deep-fried pork with mashed chillies. Pandi curry aka black magic 🙃 and Akki Roti are indispensable accompaniments to a meal. Make sure you try Lemon Shock - lemonade made lemon and spritz of spicy birds eye chillies. 🥵 This is a great destination for those looking to devour some delicious Coorgi food.

A great, authentic kodava cuisine place. The food was light on stomach, no added colors or food chemicals. The flavors were rightly blended to match the kodava kitchen.

Decent!! We ordered Pandi curry, chilli pork, koddambattu and akki roti. Pandi curry - 5/5 (it was amazing (apart from the fact that it was only loaded with fat and no real pork pieces)) Chilli pork - 2/5 (lacked flavor and the pork was cold on the inside, which meant it wasn't cooked when ordered) Akki Roti - 3/5 (by the time we went onto the second one, it had become hard) Koddambattu - 5/5 (Served fresh and piping hot) Overall, I think it was decent. The pork only had fat all around and very very little meat, which was certainly a let down.

We tried pandi curry and Pork platter . We loved it. Taste is amazing. Place is really good. But not happy with the service. Very very slow.

Definitely all those pork lovers out need to visit this spot. It has multiple pork dishes to overload your individual cravings. The mutton curry was perfectly cooked as the meat almost melted off just as my warm breath gave life to the protein. An extra touch of goodwill was added when we asked for the bill, they gave us coffee. Great hosts whom I hope to see as soon as possible.

The best of the best Pork Dishes, served in this hidden restaurant in North side of bangalore. The Head Chef Pavitha dishes out some delicious and mouthwatering Coorgi Pork Dishes that you would die to taste as a Pork Lover. Reading through their menu, I found the pricing to be very adequate and certain dishes which are not generally available. Menu Soup: Pork Leg Soup - One of a kind, brothy, flavourful and served with meat chunks, the right seasonings and wonderful aroma of the meat will make you reorder it. Mutton Paya Soup Starters: Pork Platter - This is a perfect order for a small group of people, comes with smoked pork, pepper pork, chilli pork and pork chops. Each dish, cooked to perfection and very hard to find any faults in the dish at all. This is a must order, if you want to relish different pork dishes at once. Smoked Pork - The chef has a smoker setup at home, smoked to the correct level and the meat shredded into small pieces and taste like heaven.. The best dish of the restaurant. Kaima Unde Bhartad Pork Wraps - Well cooked pork wrapped in small akki rotis and served in small chai glasses, looks beautiful and tastes very good Main Course: Pandi Curry Koli Curry Ney Kulu Puttu Platter Going by the description of the starters, I believe you would have understood the quality of food being served. The main course was equally well cooked and the combination of either Ney Kulu with Pandi Curry or Puttu Platter works just right...!! Desserts: Tender Coconut Pudding - Delicious, correct sweetness and tender than the tender coconut, it provides you the real flavour of coconut and serves as the perfect dessert after this heavy meaty affair. Jaggery Coffee - This is a surprise, a digestive and a drink commonly drank by coorgis at the end of a meal. The Coorg Food Co. was delightful experience, just the kind of pork dishes that you would want to try out if you're a pork lover.

The best place to have some authentic and scrumptious Coorgi food in Bangalore. A paradise for Pork lovers located right in the heart of Kalyan Nagar. Small space yet very well thought decor with quite a lot of woodwork which gives a very warm and homely feel and takes you right to hill of Coorg. The menu has mostly traditional Coorgi dishes which are not easily found anywhere else in Bangalore. Visited this place recently with a group of friends for dinner and the food was outstanding. What we had: Soups- Pork leg soup- Extremely flavoursome and comforting. Tender pieces of pork cooked in a hot spicy broth which is sure to amaze you. Try adding a few drops of lemon juice to enhance the flavour. A must try! Mutton Paya soup- Plain and simple with mild spices. Average tasting and needed some seasoning. Appetizer- Kaima Unde Bharthad- mutton meat balls served on skewers cooked along with fried curry leaves. Succulent meat with balanced heat and spices. Pork Wraps- Beautiful presentation of bite size wraps in chai glasses. Tender fried pork with bunch of spices wrapped in Akki Otti garnished with coriander leaf. Simply delicious. The meat to fat ratio was pefect making the meat glistening and inviting. Pork Platter- A pure pork bliss! The platter consisted of Onake Erachi(Spicy Smoked Pork), Thith Pandi (Chilli Pork Fry, with the extra hotness coming from the fiery Bird's Eye Chilli), Pandi Barthad (Slow cooked pork in black masala) and Pandi Chops (Pork Chops with subtly spiced pork chops). Each dish in the platter was cooked to perfection and quality of ingredients used were top notch. The Onake Erachi(Spicy Smoked Pork) was best of the lot and was something I never had before. The Chef explained the long and painstaking cooking process of this dish where the meat is smoked in-house. One simply cannot have enough of this as the flavours are lip-smacking. The Chilli pork was unlike any other I've had so far, made with Bird's eye chilli brought right from Coorg which imparted a sharp heat and pungent aroma. Main Course- Pandhi Curry Koli Curry Ney Kulu Puttu Platter The Pandhi curry (slow cooked pork in traditional black masala) was rich and spicy and not overwhelming amount of fat which was good. Koli Curry (Coconut based chicken curry) along with Ney Kulu (aromatic Ghee rice) proved an awesome combination with a deliciously soothing flavour. Puttu platter had three kinds of rice cakes and dumplings which went very well with that spicy rich Pork curry. Desserts- Tender Coconut Pudding Jaggery Coffee Coconut pudding was light and not too sweet with right texture and tasted amazing. Jaggery coffee, again something not very easily found here had a unique blend of amazing coffee with jaggery. A very memorable and probably the best dining experience of Coorgi cuisine I have encountered. A highly recommended place, especially for pork lovers. The prices on the menu is very reasonable and totally worth it.

Pork lover's paradise. Well , don't get me wrong. If you don't like pork, this place has a lot to offer. Located in Kalyan Nagar this place is a kind of old hidden gem. We went out for a casual dinner . Four of us . Place has a rustic charm in it. Colourful chairs , beautifully complimented wall colours , minimal shades. All of these will give you a warm welcome feeling and ofcourse their staffs are very friendly. Apart from traditional coorgi food they also serve authentic coorgi pickle and honey. The restaurant will give you a feel of saying in a traditional coorgi home .. authentic spices used in all the dishes , made each and every dish highly praiseworthy. We had for appetizers : Pork leg soup and mutton Paya. : Totally blown away by the pork soup .. a pinch of lemon juice enhanced the flavour to many fold. A Softchunk of pork meat was there ... Overall too good for a start. Mutton Paya was average .. I find it a bit bland .. For starts we had : Khaima unde bharted (Mutton balls) : very rustic texture and in taste. Brilliant infusion of spices and mutton minnce.. I liked it. Pork platter : it had, Smoked pork, chilli pork, pepper pork, pork ribs? Totally blown away by the smoked pork .. slow and well cooked, this dish made us feel that we should have this more often. Pork wraps : pandi bhartad ( slow cook pork pepper fry) wrapped in akki roti ,. Heavenly combo .. totally loved it. Pork platter and pork wrap is a must try here.. Don't miss out. For the main course we had Ghee rice , puttu Platter , pandi Curry and coorgi chicken curry . Really liked the ghee rice and chicken (Koli) curry combination . And loved the puttu and pandi curry combination . Puttus are soft and had coconut infusion in them. We had some drinks ... Masala coke and lemon shock were my personal favourite. For dessert we had my favourite dessert , tender coconut pudding (totally vegetarian prep devoid of gelatin ) , it was amazing. Finally we had jaggery coffee . .a bit different than traditional coffee. Well , it's a filter coffee with jaggery in it .. loved it too. Overall brilliant experience .. Will definitely come here for more ..

Tasty food, well packed and hot when received. Nice gesture that there was a hand written note too with the parcel. The rasam was spot on - not too tangy perfect mix of spices tomato coriander. The cutlets were crisp from outside & ghee rice was well tempered. Good authentic stuff.

First thing you notice when you enter the restaurant is the abstract theme and the pleasant music. I have been here more than 10 times now and 90% of the time food was just amazing and great service though they don't serve the food individually unless you ask. Akki rotti, Sannas, Puttu's, Neer Dosa with Keema curry is a must have here and if you are a vegetarian then Kalde curry is super delicious. They serve good chicken starters as well. Caution for the vegetarians! They have very limited starters and you many not be thrilled with what's in the menu. We have tried couple of them i.e. veg cutlets and bindi fry both were good. The taste overhauls the limited menu items. Very well priced, worth the money you are paying for hospitality and great food and everything is just neat! A must visit!

The lunch buffet on Sunday was a smashing hit amongst us. The food was absolutely wonderful, from preparation to presentation, very pleasing. We especially enjoyed the smoked pork. We highly recommend it. Reception and all service staff were very helpful and cordial.

A really good place to visit with Family/Friends. Tried Koli Curry with Nuluputtu and Kheema curry with Ney kulu. Really yummm. Tender coconut pudding which I can never forget. Black Jaggery authentic coffee really helped at the end of the meal :)

Amazing food. If you are craving for some heavenly Pandhi curry with Noolputtu, Papputtu (steaming fresh!), this is the place to be! The lemon shot was one of the most unique drinks I have had in recent times. Loved it! Don't forget to leave a little space for the Strawberry mascarpone desert.

The pork chops by chef Stephen/Steven was simply fabulastic. The pepper rasam brought back photographic memories and nostalgia of my great-grandmother's house. (Chettinad taste of some dishes are similar to the Coorgi counterpart). Very hospitable staff is an extra feather in the cap.

I had lunch here today. Was taken with the sambrani fragrance in the elevator. For those who don't know, this is a typical Coorg incense used in monsoons to dry the air and to suddenly have a whiff of it took me back to Coorg immediately. Impressive. The food was outstanding: from the thithe pandi (roast pork) to the akki otti, the puttus, the chicken curry, the pork curry, to the bittergourd fry and much more; everything speaks of authentic Coorg flavours cooked exactly as in the hearth of a kindly Coorg grandmother. The bitter orange juice with a dash of chilli was outstanding. Every single dish, complemented by the quirky decor and the wonderful host Pavitha, knocks it out of the ballpark. A must visit for anyone wanting a taste of Coorg, and the prices, in my opinion are not reasonable, because they are surprisingly low!

One of the best Pork preparations in town..loved chicken appetisers as well..super spicy and tasty..main course dishes were a bit bland..cozy ambience..no fuss..loved it :)

Brilliant food. Amazing music. Staff and service is awesome. And total value for money makes it a no-brainer kinda place. Keep up the good work, The Coorg Food Company.

I visited for the first time. Ordered a pandhi curry and a smoked pork chop. Most importantly it is really authentic taste, and flavour. Very very tasty food. Highly recommended for all food lovers .

I ordered online through Zomato for delivery - order included 2 pandi curries and they sent only 1 order. It's as if they wanted the customer to believe that the portion allocated for 2 servings was given (cost-cutting in the bargain).

Went there yesterday for lunch, the place was empty. Interiors are well done, really liked the seating. Ordered Tith Pandi, which is marked as their signature dish with Bird Chilli. My wife is from Coorg and we know what Bird Chilli tastes like so I jumped in to order this dish thinking it would be spicy, super disappointed when it made it to my table. It looked like boiled pork with chilli powder on it and it tasted horrid. For mains we ordered Pork and Bamboo shoot curry, which was special for the day and akki ottis. Again disappointed that the curry was tasteless as it 100% came out of a microwave as the meat was not as hot as the curry, the curry lacked spices and was loaded with pork fat. While placing the order I had requested for less fat and the curry had 70% fat in it. I sent it back saying I want to cancel it and stick by Pandi curry but they didn't bother changing it, instead they got me the same curry which tasted much better than before and with less fat. So managed with it. Was a little sceptical to order desserts, we ordered a Tender Coconut pudding and it was divine!!! We also ordered buttermilk and pepper rasam, which were fab as well. All in all, food needs serious attention. I wouldn't go back though.

Akok is such a great guy! He took care of everything and was such a good host! The food is just so amazing and so so homely! The mutton chops, pandi curry, akki roti, passion fruit fizz and kokum juice! The best part was when the tender coconut desert arrived! Oh such a bliss! Thank you Coorg Food Co. and Akok! You made this birthday memorable!

Mr. Ramesh was very helpful on the service front. The Coorg Food Co. is a lovely place for some authentic Coorgi style cuisine coupled with a few fantastic dishes.<br/>The restaurant is run by a very lovely couple who are very enthusiastic and dedicated towards serving delicious food at pocket friendly prices. I wish The Coorg Food Co. all the very best!

I found a shortcut from Bangalore to Coorg. The authenticity and aroma of the dishes served here takes you straight to Coorg. Pork doesn’t get treated so well very often. Perfectly cooked and Nicely presented. Don’t miss the tender coconut pudding and the complimentary black tea served in the end. What a journey..!

Amazing place! Good ambience and an amazing place to hang out with family and friends. 😊

This is small little joint above Liquor mart on Hennur road flyover junction. Nestled in second floor, door opens with a KA 12 number plate on it depicting the Coorg registration number. Ambience is a nice homely atmosphere which reminds your grandma's place. Basic interiors, lovely coorgy paintings and photographs, tiny window without grills which has the neighborhood tree peeping into the restaurant . Their pickles, powders, honey etc are to drool for just yumm. Secret recipes ,made in house. Not to miss them.<br/>Coming to food their smoked pork is something which will transport you to a different kodava culinary journey. Pandi curry , kadala curry , otti , bamboo shoot gravy were out of the world. Cooked to perfection with care. They have nailed this cuisine. You can see the owners completely involved with their guests on every table suggesting them the best dishes. Have been to many coorgi joints ,but here you actually discover what you miss in other places. Flavours are authentic , meats are fresh . Coconut pudding , their signature dessert is out of the world. Not to miss the black Bella coffee. Just yummmmilicious.

Pathetic restaurants!! They really don’t care about customer we ordered Kodava koli bharthad and sannas both dishes was stale! As attached images of the sannas they smell bad and yellow in color I am really feeling bad that I chose this restaurant to order the food. And both dishes was cold feel like they just gave this from freezer! Really really bad! You are plying with our health!! This restaurant is not even fit for 1 star!!

I ordered the food online. Tasty food. Generous portion.Would like to visit the place some time. Thank you! Home delivery is not available at nearby places. Please work on it.

Drove up on Sunday Aug 11th 2019 to order and pick up Pork Ribs, Pandi Curry and Pandi Barthad from here. Ribs was OK but too much fat. Pandi curry and Pandi barthad had about 75 to 80 percent fat and skin only. Having driven all the way from Hsr Layout to pick up the food, this was a big disappointment. I think Coorg restaurant in Indiranagar gives much better food for this price with just the right amount of fat and skin. Sorry, was totally disappointed. Am yet to taste the pork pickle that I bought here and hope that that is also not a let down.

This was the second time I've visited this place, the ambience is nice and welcoming. We ordered drinks, starters and Otti's and Main course. The drinks, main course was nice, but the starter was a bit bland though I asked for it to be made extra spicy. Overall a good meal and easy on the pocket.<br/><br/>Food : 3.5<br/>Service: 4<br/>Ambience: 3.5

I was introduced to this place by a friend...the decor is very chic and interesting. we had opted for the buffet on a Sunday afternoon..The spread comprised roasted baba fry, roasted chilli pork, rice balls, rice, chicken, pork gravy, wild mango curry and a few more dishes... for desserts we had a coconut pudding..it tasted out of the world...We were also served rice rotis and coffee...I loved the food, reminds me of coorg food ..will surely be back for more

If I could rate this place a minus I would. Just ordered crispy chicken dish from this place. When I got delivered I found the dish was stinking. Really bad smelling dish. Feel like vomitting just by looking at it. And there are no chicken pieces only chopped up bones with barely any flesh and hardened fat deep fried. It's like when u cook chicken at home and after u eat the stuff that u throw out for street dogs that's what this restaurant has served me today. Never ever should you trust this restaurant to give u good food.

I went today 21-07-19 for first time. Ordered 3 portions of pundhi curry. While placing the order told umpteen time to the person who took the order, we prefer less fat since its for my child . But to our surprise the food parcel was containing bones and fats without any meat. No value for money. Not really worth.
Raghavendra Nayak
As a vegetarian, you will have plenty of options here to try authentic Kodava dishes. Don't miss bitter gourd fry, Kutu curry, akki rotti, Kadambuttu and finally, the bella kaapi (jaggery coffee)
Kav Kv
Nice place, Mutton is preferred over pork. Pandi Curry not authentic, needs a lot of improvement over selected coorgi cuisine. 4 STARS, -1 as they need to improve. Bellad kapi n Lemon Shock was the show stealer for me
Ajay Thambi
The best coorgi food I have eaten, cosy interiors but bad service. We were the only customers for dinner but the staff was least interested in us. They were only interested in their phones and the desktop. Had to literally walk to them to the cash counter to get their attention.
Arindam Ray
Aha!! La la land for pork lovers. I don't remember disliking even one single dish. Their pork items are spicy and mouthwatering. Must try items include the pork platters with rotis. I think small tortilla type breads come complementary to these platters. They sell prawn pickle as well although I never tried it. There is not much for vegetarians here 😂. Plunge into the spicy morsels and devour like a gourmet.
Josephalina1994
One of the best places to have Coorg cuisine in Bangalore with one of the best pork dishes . Pork platter, pandi chops and pandi curry are a must try .

Amazingly homely. Reminded me of my summer holidays at coorg. Staff are polite and friendly. Love the fact that it is open through the day. The spices are palatable for all and staff willing to customize based on the customers. Definitely an option to repeat!

Good place for Coorg food: pandi fry / gravy, wheat rotis, kodambattus, ne’er dosa and at the end great home made desserts. They also serve Bella kappi

We tried the Sunday brunch here and I found the experience VFM. A half decent buffet with homely food with truckloads of pandhi curry and fried pork was excellent. The bhindi fritters were something I want to try at home & the paya soup was wholesome. Would have preferred the jackfruit cutlets to be better and the tender coconut soufflé was coagulated the wrong way. Overall, nice! Service was smiling and friendly.

Went alone, so couldn't order a lot. <br/>Pandi Barthad is worth trying. This pork recipe cooked in 'black masala' is one of the best I ever had. Also tried Ottis for the first time. Very good food overall.
Kaveri Mandal Chunder
I was going through the Zomato review and with good review selected this restaurant. We ordered for starter as Thith pandi which was mentioned as spicy but it was just a deep fry pork which is not at all spicy. Then on main course we ordered pandi curry combo where the pork curry was okay and erachi curry which is mutton curry and without salt and spices which we didnt liked. The prices are also bit overpriced as with above we ordered kids chicken meal combo where typically the chicken was too sweet and the total bill was 1500 change. I would not want to visit again.

Very Natural place, you feel like home. The ambience is super cool you will love it. The food is good and you should try the neer dosa. And overall the assistance also was good. And the drink lemon Mogito was refreshing after the food.

We went there on a Sunday night.<br/><br/>Ambience : Nice and cool. Do visit when you're bored of the nirnaktcafe food.

I loved the interiors. Our waiter was very courteous and even humored us with light conversation. We tried the Puttu Platter, Pork leg soup, the special Pandi Curry and an amazing Pork Dry item that was marinated with vinegar and then fried. (Reminded me a lot of a Filipino dish and yes we went all out on the Pork)<br/><br/>We ended the meal with an incredibly refreshing Tender Coconut Mousse. It was divine.<br/><br/>I would definitely recommend you to try this place if you wanna grab the authentic Kodava cuisine. The prices are worth it.

Nice place. Great food. Interesting items.. We ordered pandi combo with paputtu. Prawns curry with kadambutu. Very tasty food. At the black coffee complimentary was a delight.

The ambience was kind of nice. We tried their combo meal (Pork & Mutton) and the person asked if we like our food spicy hot? We like hot spicy food but the food that was served wasn’t spicy expect for that 1 green chili that was placed on the curry. <br/>The butter milk and lemon shocker was good and that encouraged me to try the masala coke it smelt and even tasted more like hajmola candy. <br/>They offered Jaggery Coffee and it was very nice.

The best dish of the restaurant.<br/>Kaima Unde Bhartad<br/>Pork Wraps - Well cooked pork wrapped in small akki rotis and served in small chai glasses, looks beautiful and tastes very good<br/><br/>Main Course:<br/>Pandi Curry<br/>Koli Curry<br/>Ney Kulu<br/>Puttu Platter<br/>Going by the description of the starters, I believe you would have understood the quality of food being served.<br/>The main course was equally well cooked and the combination of either Ney Kulu with Pandi Curry or Puttu Platter works just right...!!<br/><br/>Desserts:<br/>Tender Coconut Pudding - Delicious, correct sweetness and tender than the tender coconut, it provides you the real flavour of coconut and serves as the perfect dessert after this heavy meaty affair.<br/><br/>Jaggery Coffee - This is a surprise, a digestive and a drink commonly drank by coorgis at the end of a meal.<br/><br/>The Coorg Food Co. was delightful experience, just the kind of pork dishes that you would want to try out if you're a pork lover.<br/>

In short, this place is a heaven for Pork Lovers. The interior has an amazing rustic charm with a lot of wooden works, giving you a feeling that you are in a coffee estate in Coorg. Being a Coorgi restaurant it serves some amazing and spicy pork dishes using authentic spices. <br/><br/>Yesterday went there for a porkalicious dinner and I was simply blown away by the amazing traditional food from Coorg along great hospitality. We started our dinner with Pork Leg Soup and Mutton Paya Soup. The Pork Soup was extremely delicious and flavourful with small chunks of tender pork in it as well. Adding a little lemon enhanced the flavour even more. The Mutton Paya Soup though was decent lacked some flavours. So, if I were to choose any one of the soup with my closed eye I will opt for the Pork Leg Soup.<br/><br/>For appetisers, we took Khaima Unde Bhartad (Spicy Mutton Meatballs fry tossed in curry leaves and chillies), Pork Wraps (Pandi Bhartad or Slow Cooked Spicy Pork Fry wrapped in akki otti/traditional rice rotis) and the Pork Lovers' Platter, which was something from paradise. <br/>The Pork Lovers' Platter comprised of Onake Erachi(Spicy Smoked Pork), Thith Pandi (Chilli Pork Fry, with the extra hotness coming from the fiery Bird's Eye Chilli), Pandi Barthad and Pandi Chops (Pork Chops with subtly spiced pork chops). The Mutton Meatballs were a perfect blend of meat and spices. The Pork Lovers' Platter was a delight. Loved each and every item in the platter, the Onake Erachi or the Spicy Smoked Pork being the star of the show. The Pork Chops had the perfect amount of fat in it, unlike many places where you get too much of fat for Pork Chops. Akki Otti or Rice Rotis went well with the Pork Lovers' Platter. We had a few of their drinks as well. Among them, I liked the Lemon Shock and Masala Coke. <br/><br/>For the mains, we took Pandi Curry with Puttu Platter and Koli Curry with Ghee Rice. The Noolputtu(rice string hoppers, very similar to Idiyappam), Paputtu(steamed rice cakes, flavoured with cardamom and coconut) and Kadumbuttu(steamed rice dumplings) complemented the spicy and mouthwatering Pandi Curry extremely well. The coconut-based Chicken Curry or Koli Curry was pretty good as well with the aromatic Ghee Rice.<br/><br/>Completed our meal, with an amazing Tender Coconut Pudding - one of my favourite desserts. And we were given a traditional jaggery coffee before leaving, which is a traditional style of Coffee popular in Coorg prepared by infusing jaggery to filter coffee decoction. Probably this is the Best Coog Cuisine experience you can get in Bangalore and the prices and extremely reasonable.

Pork lover's paradise. Well , don't get me wrong. If you don't like pork, this place has a lot to offer.<br/><br/>Located in Kalyan Nagar this place is a kind of old hidden gem.<br/><br/>We went out for a casual dinner . Four of us .<br/><br/>Place has a rustic charm in it. Colourful chairs , beautifully complimented wall colours , minimal shades. All of these will give you a warm welcome feeling and ofcourse their staffs are very friendly.<br/><br/>Apart from traditional coorgi food they also serve authentic coorgi pickle and honey.<br/><br/>The restaurant will give you a feel of saying in a traditional coorgi home .. authentic spices used in all the dishes , made each and every dish highly praiseworthy.<br/><br/>We had for appetizers :<br/><br/>Pork leg soup and mutton Paya. : Totally blown away by the pork soup .. a pinch of lemon juice enhanced the flavour to many fold. A Softchunk of pork meat was there ... Overall too good for a start. Mutton Paya was average .. I find it a bit bland ..<br/><br/>For starts we had :<br/><br/>Khaima unde bharted (Mutton balls) : very rustic texture and in taste. Brilliant infusion of spices and mutton minnce.. I liked it.<br/><br/>Pork platter : it had, Smoked pork, chilli pork, pepper pork, pork ribs? Totally blown away by the smoked pork .. slow and well cooked, this dish made us feel that we should have this more often.<br/><br/>Pork wraps : pandi bhartad ( slow cook pork pepper fry) wrapped in akki roti ,. Heavenly combo .. totally loved it.<br/><br/>Pork platter and pork wrap is a must try here..<br/><br/>Don't miss out.<br/><br/>For the main course we had<br/><br/>Ghee rice , puttu Platter , pandi Curry and coorgi chicken curry .<br/><br/>Really liked the ghee rice and chicken (Koli) curry combination . And loved the puttu and pandi curry combination . Puttus are soft and had coconut infusion in them.<br/><br/>We had some drinks ... Masala coke and lemon shock were my personal favourite.<br/><br/>For dessert we had my favourite dessert , tender coconut pudding (totally vegetarian prep devoid of gelatin ) , it was amazing.<br/><br/>Finally we had jaggery coffee . .a bit different than traditional coffee. Well , it's a filter coffee with jaggery in it .. loved it too.<br/><br/>Overall brilliant experience ..<br/><br/>Will definitely come here for more ..<br/><br/>Cheers .<br/><br/>

A place to visit if you wanna enjoy some mouth watering delicacies n some authentic coorgie food.. The ambiance is something different, you feel welcomed - the minute you walk in. The staff are very friendly n courteous.. they also do have an amazing line up of pickles which are nicely marinated with the perfect blend of southern spices:-)

Staff was friendly.. pandhi curry was our of the world.. to finish it with complimentary Bella coffee was very good for digestion.. must visit place for pork and coorg food lovers

I have ordered many times from this place. This time the pandi curry was really bad. Looks like they messed up the prep. It was tasteless n really bad
Shruti Sharada
The meal here was quite disappointing. We went expecting honest, traditional Coorgi fare but got over-priced, tepid dishes instead. The chicken and mutton curries were both bland and lacked a memorable gravy. The combo dishes aren't filling and the lemon with chilli drink is sickly sweet. The buttermilk comes in a small glass loaded with pieces of ginger, etc., making it ridiculously pricey again. And the dessert just sealed the bad experience for us - a thin slice that retained crunchy sugar granules on the top, with little taste of chocolate.<br/><br/>

Food was similar to want you get in coorg. If you are searching for spicy food then this is the right place for it. Almost we were licking our food out. Ambience and people are good.

Wanted try something different! And it was worth it. Ordered a Puttu platter, Otti and chicken curry. It just made my day! Spice was just right. I normally don't give 5 star rating :). But it's really deserving!

This place has a cozy and warm ambience. The long benches, metal chair, wodden tables, and the rustic window adds a charm to this place and brings out the coorg vibe. The food is simple and wholesome, hot and soft akki rotti with a coconut based spiced chiken curry is one of the best things on the menu. The complimentary 'Bella Kaapi' has an interesting and distinct flavour compared to the usual coffee.

This is a place that is just simply amazing, the ambiance in it is just like old Coorg houses. The tables, the chairs, all old school. Beautifully set up.<br/>The staff are very friendly and are prompt with service.<br/>This is a very quiet place, good for family, good for a quick meeting with your staff and friends.<br/>Now for the food, just a simple perfect blend of it's spices and the food turns out to be finger licking good, just perfect.<br/><br/>The variety in the Coorg cuisine that they serve is great, you simply wish you had more place in your tummy to be eating more variety.<br/><br/>A must are the desserts, don't forget to let that sweet tooth do it's magic.<br/><br/>A visit to this place and multiple visits after if what is recommended.<br/><br/>The owners are very friendly and appreciate good feed back. So don't forget, enjoy the food and the ambiance and hit the bell on your way out ... And by the way, you can buy a whole lot of goodies from here that's of Coorg.<br/>This place is on my "always go to" joint.<br/>

Second time visiting this place and I am never disappointed . Paya soup was amazing . Try the mutton chops as well. We ordered neer dosa, Atti roti and mutton curry for main course - didn’t disappoint . I relished every bite. I wish they could get a wine license for wine lovers😀. I like their home made ice cream as well.
Asia A
Ordered their pandi curry rice combo for home delivery. The first time it was perfect. The second time, today, they sent only pork fat pieces in the curry. Just one piece of pork meat. Unacceptable. I ordered late lunch and if they had run out would have been happy if they called and said it wasn't available than sending me an entire dabba of just pork fat pieces and gravy.

Never had coorg food like this before. The pork starters went quite well wid the akki roti, idiyappam. Everything here is really good. the cuscus payasam as a dessert Was also good.<br/>

May be popular among native Coorgies. My friends and myself tried their signature items but dissappointed. Service also was low. We didn't get one of the order and had to reorder after checking and waiting for sometime. Sorry but not again.

So a work call helped me in getting this restaurant ticked off my long pending list. This was lunch and accompanying me was a good friend from Coorg..<br/><br/>We ordered a Pandi Barthad and each a round of Akki roti (otti) with Pandi Curry combo.<br/><br/>Pandi Barthad was excellent and it didn't last long on the table. Good pieces with a mix of fat and meat.<br/><br/>The Pandi Curry was a let down. Although it tasted good (Pandi in any form tastes good) but didn't taste like Pandi curry should. It was missing the tanginess, and this was confirmed by my Coorgi friend. Although we landed up ordering another round of akki rotis (the combo comes with 2 pieces)<br/><br/>But it ended on a high with a complimentary Jaggery Coffee. Never had had it before and developed an instant liking towards it.<br/><br/>All in all a decent place for a quick and quiet Coorgi experience. We paid Rs 855/- for the meal.

Quaint little place serving yummy Coorgi food .<br/>The staff is friendly and courteous .Service is very prompt too .<br/>We ordered the Koli Balthad , Pandi curry , otti, nool puttu ,bitter gourd fry and tender coconut ice cream .<br/>The appetizers and Main course were really tasty and packed with flavour .The pork was cooked to perfection .<br/>Didn't enjoy the tender coconut ice cream however .

Finally got to visit this place! Highly rated and heard too.<br/>The ambience was warm and cozy. The food was tasty too.<br/>The reason for me to rate it low is due to couple reasons. First, there was hair in the pandi curry which I'll still ignore.<br/>Second, there was a black worm in the papattu!! It was shocking. The waiter has no idea to deal with it.<br/>Finally, the gave us the bill fully charging us for all items! We sent back saying we aren't paying for the dish with the worm which they agreed thankfully!<br/>I am guessing I was the unlucky one to this place.
Viswajith Viswanathan
Ordered Pandi Barthad and Pandi Curry with rice after reading all the great reviews on Zomato. The Pork meat was perfectly cooked, but it was cooked in a tamarind paste which masked and spoiled the taste of pork meat. I am not sure if this is how pork is prepared in Coorg, but I am unable to stand the tanginess of the meat. Spent around 700+ (including Dunzo charge) but I don't feel that I am eating pork. It's almost like pickle. The Pandi Curry doesn't have any curry/gravy. I am not sure how I am supposed to eat this with rice.

If I had to write a single line about this place: The best Indian pork i have ever had!<br/>Summaries aside, I went to this place one evening with a friend who had been raving about the pork for a while. The setup is humble and perfectly lit. The moment i looked at the menu, i realised that this is one place which doesnt feel the need to digress from the point. There were a handful of preparations on offer and all of them oozed of coorg-ness. We started with pandhi barthad. The pork meat was impeccably cooked and the fat had just the right texture. The black masala that the pork was slow cooked in was turning everything into magic. We next went for the pork wraps and it was equally mind blowing. On to the main course, we tried the pandhi curry with ghee rice and thats when i realised that these guys are pros at what they do. The balance of spices along with "melts in your mouth" pork was out of this world. We also tried the mutton curry, there too, the meat texture was more than perfect and the masala was nicely complementing the aromatic meat. Overall, It wasnt just a dinner, it was more of a roller coaster ride through a bunch of amazing flavours and textures. I will be back to this place soon to try out the other stuff on the menu. Cheers!

Food quality & taste is good.Hygine factor is taken care.Delivered on time. i can rate 5 on these parameters. But I was only disappointed about quantity of the food as mutton gravy was less when compared to other top restaurants. Mutton curry what received had 3 pieces with full of bones. Little disappointed.I could have rated 5 if this was taken care.Hope management will take care of this things

Came to this place on a Saturday evening. The place was empty with just one table occupied. We ordered Onake Reaching spicy smoked pork as starter. The pork was tender and very well cooked. For main course, we took the combo meals - Pandi curry and mutton kaima. Pandi curry was also delicious. However, the mutton kaima was quite disappointing.
The Bangalore Foodies
Being a North Indian and have spent most of the life in West or north India I was oblivious of many cuisines from down south.. Coorgi cuisine was one of them. I tried my first meal of Coorgi food last to last year and there is no stopping me since then.<br/><br/>The coorg food company has been and is our favorite place in Bangalore for kodava food. The quality is superb and they have a brilliant consistency.. I know as I have ordered food from them every week for some time. Try their Pandi curry, Chilly pork, Puttu platter, Pandi bhartad.<br/>
Sairam Vijayan
Had ordered from Coorg Food Company many times earlier and quite liked the food quality here. But yesterday, I had a very disappointing experience. Ordered Pandi Barthad, Thith Pandi (Chilly Pork) with Kadamputtu and Noolputu as accompaniments. The Thith Pandi tasted really weird - especially the oil it was fried in and the meat quality was bad - had to chuck this dish. The Pandi Barthad was a little better but barely so. The accompaniments were ok though. Sad, I thought this place had potential.

I didn't get my zomato treat with the order!!

Our love of exploring new food joints took us to Kalyan Nagar for the third time. This time we decided to pay a visit to “The Coorg Food Co.” or TCFC to satisfy our love for pork 🐷 and try out some flavorful kodava dishes.<br/><br/>🗺 Location:<br/>TCFC is located on the 2nd floor of a building right on Hennur Main road near to Hennur Main Road and CMR Road crossing.<br/><br/>Ambience:<br/>The interior is nicely done and gives you a feel that as if you have actually entered an eatery as found in Madikeri town. They have utilized the small space quite judiciously and yet it does not feel cramped. Wooden wall decors, simple wooden windows, tables, benches and plants add up to give a rustic feel.<br/><br/>🍽 Food:<br/><br/>They serve lunch buffet as well as ala carte, we opted for ala carte.<br/><br/>For appetizers we ordered “pork lovers platter” which actually has all the four different pork starters TCFC has to offer and two soft akki rotis (traditional rice rotis). The four dishes are pandi barthad (pork fry in black masala), thith pandi or chilly pork, onake erachi or spicy smoked pork and pandi chops. All of them were awesome but my favourite will be the onake erachi.<br/><br/>In main course we ordered a puttu platter and pandi curry. Puttu platter comes with noolputtu (rice string hoppers), paputtu (steamed rice cake with cardamom and coconut) and kadambuttu (steamed rice dumplings). I tried paputtu for the first time and really loved the taste. The puttus went well with the flavourful spicy pandi curry and the complimentary green salad.<br/><br/>🍹 We also ordered kokum cooler & passion fruit fizz but they were very ordinary.<br/><br/>🍵At the end TCFC served a complimentary bella coffee (black coffee sweetened with jaggery), which I really liked.<br/><br/>Service:<br/><br/>Staffs at TCFC were very friendly and warm. Service was prompt.<br/><br/>👌 Overall we had a great time at TCFC and I look forward to visit them again to try out few other kodava dishes. They also sell coorg honey, bamboo and pork pickles and I have heard that the bamboo pickle is really good.

My love for Kodava cuisine brought me here on a Sunday afternoon for a late lunch. The restaurant is located in the 2nd floor of a building right on Hennur Main road.<br/>As soon as you enter, you will fall in love with the decor. Hats off to the interior decorator of the place. Very intelligent choice of colors plus i loved the simplicity of the place. I felt like I am sitting at a local restaurant in Coorg.<br/>Now we got a nice table to ourselves. There was weekend buffet spread too but we opted for a la carte. We ordered for a pork lovers' platter, puttu platter and pandi curry and kokum cooler & passion fruit fizz. Though the drinks were just passable, i loved the food out here. Very authentic and superb in taste and quality. My personal favourites were the spicy smoked pork in the platter & pandi curry. Main highlights of the meal. Also i would like to mention about the Pork Barthad which is cooked in a delicious black masala. Puttu platter has an assortment of Kadumbuttu( steamed rice dumplings- a local favourite) Noolputtu( steamed rice string hoppers)& Paputtu( steamed rice cakes with cardamom & coconut). All of them went very well with the Pandi curry. This place is a pork lovers' paradise though they have a couple of veg & chicken/mutton dishes.<br/>Service is another plus. The staff is so warm and friendly which only enhanced our experience.<br/>Pricing is reasonable enough for the experience.<br/>Btw, I also loved the Bella coffee which they serve as complimentary after your meal.<br/>Must visit!!!<br/>Bon Appetit 😊

Kalyan Nagar's Coorg Food & Co. is the Mecca for all the Pork lovers.<br/><br/>AMBIANCE & FOOD<br/><br/>The location is prime, right on Hennur Main Road. It's on the second floor of the same building which has Chulha Chauki Da Dhaba. The decor is simply breathtaking; there's this feel good vibe to the place which grasps you the moment you step in. It's ideal for a date or even a family gathering/team lunch. Extremely smart utilisation of the small space, it actually feels like one of those hill station eateries; serene and quiet, away from the hustle and bustle. Great choice of colors and special mention to the upholstery. Also, a big shoutout to the interior designer. Great job👌<br/><br/>Coming to the food we decided to stick to the basic Coorgi staple. Being a Sunday they had buffet but we opted for the Ala carte. Our order comprised of the<br/>⏺️Pork Lover's Platter<br/>⏺️Pandi Curry with Puttu Platter.<br/>For the drinks we went for the Kokum and the Passion Fruit fizz.<br/>The pork Platter consisted of<br/>▶️Pandi Barthad (slow cooked pork in black masala)<br/>▶️Thith Pandi (Chilli Pork)<br/>▶️Onake Erachi (Spicy Smoked Pork)<br/>▶️Pork Chops<br/>The food is so freaking good, a perfect 5 on all aspects. The taste is still lingering on my palette. The platter was unbeatable. Every item was finger licking good. I especially loved the Smoked Pork and the Barthad. My friends who have been to Coorg added that the taste is authentic. I don't know what their secret black masala is, but it tastes heavenly. The Chilli Pork was a bit different from what I've had before at Coorgi restaurants. It was deep fried and crunchy but had this sumptuous juicy aftertaste. The Classic pork chops were also nicely done. I'd highly recommend the Pork Platter.<br/>For the mains, the Pandi Curry was bang on. Perfect preparation with balance of taste. This secret black masala is a clear winner I tell you. The meat was succulent and juicy, best thing was it didn't have fat pieces unlike other places. It tasted amazing with the puttus. The Puttu Platter had<br/>▶️Noolputtu (Rice String Hoppers)<br/>▶️Kadamputtu(Steamed Rice Dumplings)<br/>▶️Paputtu(Rice Cake with Cardamom & Coconut)<br/>-I have had string hoppers at Malabar restaurants before but was trying Kadamputtu and Paputtu for the first time. The Kadamputtus looked like fluffy rasgullas while the paputtu resembled an apple pie in shape. All the three items teamed up extremely well with the Pandi Curry, like a match made in heaven.<br/>One thing which I dint like were the bevarages. The Kokum didn't taste authentic at all and the Passion fruit also tasted very different but the food made up for it. Also the complementary Bella Coffee in the end felt extremely relaxing. Best thing was it had jaggery instead of Sugar.<br/>It was indeed a happy meal I tell you, dilkhush types.<br/><br/>SERVICE & VFM<br/><br/>The warm service actually added to the wholesome dining experience. The staff is very cordial and serves you with a smile. Price wise the place is quite reasonable. We paid around 1380/- for our meal.<br/><br/>Overall,<br/><br/>If you love pork please visit this place, the food is exceptionally good. Thank you team for a lovely experience. See you soon.<br/><br/>Bon Appetit:)

A few weeks back, we headed to The Coorg Food Co. for a dinner. Sunday night, driving is a breeze. We reached Kalyan Nagar quite quick, and I personally love Kodava food, so was very excited. We met the lovely couple that own the place, very hands on in the kitchen and helpful with customers. And ordered a few things off of the menu, with recommendations from the kind gentleman. <br/><br/>Spicy Smoked Chicken and Spicy Mutton Meatball were probably the only non-pork dishes we tried. The Chilly Pandi, Spicy Smoked Pork and Pandi Barthad are all part of the Pork Lovers’ Platter, and that’s totally worth indulging in! We loved eating these with Akki Rotis and Noolputtu (string hoppers). This was pretty much going to be my meal, but we also got some Pandi Curry – just to ensure no regrets. And that was the most delicious Pandi Curry I’ve had in a long, long time. Delicious, very well made! <br/><br/>The Khas Khas Payasa is a Kodava specialty, but the Tender Coconut Pudding is just perfection! On the menu there are also various combos of curries and staples together which is served with options of puttu or rice. A wonderful experience, can’t wait to head back there!

Good service and ambience. Buffet is easily preferred choice. I love pork so for me that was best part. Chicken lovers may find the food little bland. But over all food was very good. Don't miss home made vanila icecream. Its absolute delight.<br/>

the food could be said at the best average. the masalas that were mentioned in the description were muted and understated. considering the amount charges for the dishes 2 star is the max that can be given<br/>

I've got a ton of kodava friends, and I would swear by their culinary genius.. I was first introduced to this place by yamini bantwal, and there is no looking back since then!<br/>The hospitality, ambience and the food takes me back to kodava land.. Including the 'KA 12 open and close' board on the door.. My personal favourites are the pandhi barthaad and the smoked pork.. You guys are awesome!!

Been here for a Sunday lunch.. it's a small place with good ambiance and people keeping flowing in..<br/>Not to many options on the menu card.. the limited coorg homemade style food is good overall.<br/>We had the spicy smoked chicken and thith pandi -both were yum.<br/>The chicken curry combo was good, erachi curry combo, akki otti could have been prepared little more bigger in size.<br/>khas khas payasam - needs improvement in terms of khas khas taste n sweetness.<br/>The service is slow.. But the staff are friendly expect for one person who is either new or needs more training on customer interaction. Seems like some items are little over priced for the quantity.

Nice experience as always. Pork curry was awesome. I love the tender coconut pudding from here. A must try if you ever visit here. Ordered online and delivered it on time. Good service from zomato.

Croogi pork at it's best.. served rotis hot n puffed .. I can say food was "finger licking good". Crispy chicken was so yummy. their desserts were superb. Gave us complimentry black coffee with jaggery which was awesome. Service n cleanliness was excellent.

I visited this restaurant on a weekday. It was great. The Coorgy dishes were very tasty. I would have given 5 star for that day... but I had their buffet too. The dishes were not fresh. I think leftover pork is used for pork dishes on buffet lunch on sundays. I recommend this on weekdays and a big NO to their buffet on sunday.

We loved it as usual, one of our favourite restaurant. But today we found a hair in the curry and but disappointed. So it’s 3*. Kindly have a hygiene check please..

Ordered twice from the restaurant. Both occasions, food was very tasty. Absolutely satisfying!! Found an amazing restaurant in The Coorg Food Co. A must try!!

Ordered online. As usual food was very nice. Main course I ordered a pork combo. Taste wise very good. But quality wise it is not a satisfying one. I have ordered food from here earlier(a lot of time as I have the Zomato treat membership and the tender coconut pudding that comes with the treat is just awesome), it was very nice experience. Quality wise and quantity wise. This time lot of bones in the curry and very little meat. I am going ignore it as it's the first time its happening. Maybe some mix up from restaurant side. Also I got a very sincere apology and a promise for replacement when I notified the restaurant about it. I declined the replacement as I already started eating. So this time I am not gonna reduce the rating. Apart from this issue it's worth 5*. You're gonna enjoy it if you're a pork lover.

As I love pork, I'd been to this place with one of my friends just to have it. It was Sunday evening and there wasn't any crowd when we entered, but it got filled very fast within half an hour. We'd ordered pork platter and lime and mint. The platter had pandi bartha, thith pandi (chilly pork), onake erachi (spicy smoked pork) and pandi chops (pork chops). All the items were good and we enjoyed our meal. The line and mint helped us a lot as the food was heavy and we didn't want to waste such good food! After the meal they'd given us black coffee made of black jaggery, which they said it will help us digest our food and it was just awesome! I would definitely visit this place again. If you love pork, then this is the place which you must visit in Bangalore. Ambiance was decent and the service was too good and quick, as the staff were very friendly.<br/><br/>Taste: 5<br/>Ambiance: 4.5<br/>Service: 5<br/>Value for money: 5
