Review Sri Laxmi Venkateshwara Coffee Bar - Bengaluru

Abhay Gowda
Just stumbled upon this coffee that's a game-changer! It's like a punch of energy, seriously strong but somehow perfectly smooth. It's that magic combo you didn't know you needed. Each sip feels like a flavor party—bold, yet easygoing. If you're into strong coffee that's also crazy delicious, this one's a winner. It's become my daily go-to for a reason. Trust me, you won't be disappointed!

Lovely food! Must try is the iconic idli vada with the awesome neer chutney (watery chutney). Also tried the khara bath which was also very good! Expect heavy rush during weekends, Pretty reasonable prices too, and the best part is you can refill the chutney unlimited times 😜

A place which serves south Indian Breakfast with proper hygiene , better flavour and for better prices , It's safe to say that I have found my new favourite Breakfast Joint now. None of Items have a hint of soda (which most of popular Breakfast Joints here will have) Which I find amazing here and star of the show is their coconut chutney . Idly gives prominent rice flavour , Vada has just right amount of crisp , Khara Bhath and coffee are 11/10 and all are under 200 rupees which is pretty affordable without a compromise in taste and quality. It deserves all hype and I would love to visit it again and again , This is straight going into my regular's list.

SLV, a culinary haven! The legendary eatery's Idli Vade is a delightful masterpiece. The excellence doesn't stop there – their Masala Dose and Pineapple Kesaribath are equally praiseworthy. A combo of Idli Vade and a strong coffee, and my day is sorted!

A place that takes us to nostalgia. Have been going here for more than a decade now. Located just close to Banashankari BDA complex you cannot miss it due to the huge crowd around this place. The Idly are soft and hot. What makes them unique is the chutney. It is lip smacking good. The dosa is on the crispy side, a bit too much. But the masala is again delicious especially with the use of those onions. The Kesari Bhath is amazing and the Khara Bhath was tasty. Overall, the place is great for breakfast.
Srikanth BR
One of the best dose I have had in terms of taste, texture and how well it is roasted, they don't put red chutney in the masala dose here. Idly chutney here is another among my favourites, comfort food. Definitely worth a visit if around Banashankari BDA complex area.

One of those early morning places They're open from 6am onwards for those bisi bisi idli vada khara bath and coffee tea 7.30 onwards the dosa and other breakfast options are available too The simple idli vada chutney with extra butter is like one of the best ull have The Vada is awesome crispy n the idli chutney is simply next level taste.. Loved it The khara bath is nice too, but eat it without the chutney to get is real flavour It's a coffee tea adda to morning walkers and senior citizens in the area..so ull always see ppl n Q here Like, 6.45 there was a Q for the token/ordering... hahaha we were lucky to have entered when there were no ppl at 6.20 Will surely go back to this place again👍

Perfect place for south indian breakfast..... They have maintained excellent Quality, service... Too crowded everyday.... Only self service available, they have some tables wherein u can keep ur plates. Very crispy vada, dosa also too good, very soft idlis😋. Only 2 seatings available inside. Very few tall tables are arranged outside to stand and eat. No parking place. We have to park our vehicle road side only.
Pavithra S A
Very very soft and spongy idli. Chutney is the best. Dosae items were too good. Vada could be better.
Amit Kulkarni
Had been here in the morning. The idli was soft with a dollop of butter, just melted in mouth. The chutney was watery but very flavorful, spicy. The vada was crispy and had a lot of flavor. With chillies inside. The kharabath was very different from what I have had elsewhere. It had no peas and had carrot, ideally that should be crap, but this one was so flavorful and melted in every bite. It's not upmarket, it is kharabath
Nagarjuna
These is one of the finest place for kharabath don't miss it if your are near by
Poornima Ramesh
Amazingly crispy vadas and not oily as well 😊. Filter coffee to the point.

One of the legendary outlets in Banashankari!<br/>My favorite breakfast joint since two decades!<br/><br/>Located right in front of BDA park, you have ample amount of space to park your vehicles & even to stand n eat on both sides of the road.<br/>Renovated recently but still the place is overcrowded in the morning! Staff is very friendly.<br/><br/>Firstly I love their super soft idlies & iconic vada!<br/>Second thing I love at this place is kesaribath which is just too perfect!<br/>Love their filter coffee as well 😍<br/><br/>If your looking for a delicious South Indian breakfast,it is the place to visit for.<br/><br/>

The taste of everything here is great.I have been seeing this place since 30 years. No regrets about the taste.I am rating 1 for this place for their pricing these days. The dishes are becoming too expensive and a lot of Idli and Dosa outlets are coming up with better taste and cheaper prices. These guys are giving the quantity of a 20 rupees dosa and charging 40 rupees. There is also a frequent increase in the pricing.I almost see a bump in the price everytime I go there once in a month or twice. They are just becoming too greedy!
Sanjay Narayan
Famous joint for idly vada and masala dosa near BDA Complex, Banashankari. Usually always crowded but it's worth the money and time. Must tryouts Idly/Vada, Masala Dosa, Khara Bath.
Eshwar Vemala
Since a decade I've been visiting this place for their lipsmacking idli chutney and crispy vada. However in the recent times, ive not experienced the same taste and quality like before. I've had atleast 6 times in the last 4 months and hence this rating. <br/><br/>During peak hours they just dilute the chutney like never before and once we give a feedback they don't care to rectify it. Even the extra butter that we pay for is satisfactory and isn't like old days. Vadas size is reducing day by day and it's not what the regular customers expect. I request the management to take this matter seriously before more customers stop visiting your place!
Smriti
Lovely little place with authentic south indian food. The idlis are soft and the dosas are crisp and flavourful. Served with coconut chutney, this combination makes for a filling meal. Light on your pocket and tummy. Do check this out if in and around the area.
Supriya Nayan
It is just opposite to the devagiri park. Many of the walkers are main customers here, as I had seen. Khara bhath and idli with Chutney is the best.
Jk
For Early morning breakfast this is the Best place to have yummy breakfast @6.30<br/>I had idli and vada<br/>Idli were so soft and crispy vada<br/>Had awesome filter coffee<br/>Friendly staff's with friendly environment<br/>Open ambience always crowded<br/><br/>
Sindhura
Also commonly known as " SLV canteen". I've been coming here regularly for more than 10 years. Everything they serve is extremely delicious. It's my go to breakfast place. I ordered a plate of idli and vada with chutney. They were simply amazing, as always. Only drawback is that there's no proper place to sit and eat and also it gets extremely crowded in the peak hours.
Shaiba Sarkar
Been in Banashankari for months and always wondered why this place was always overcrowded until I saw it in the legendary outlets list of Zomato. Makes Sense now, the best coffee bar for South Indian breakfast in this area. There is not much a place here, so the foot path is where one has to stand and eat but once the idlis and vadas melt in your mouth, you just forget everything. They have the crispiest Vada and Dosa, taste being the usual in old Coffee bars of Bangalore. Nothing seems to have changed in years. Ambience - primarily because of food patrons - 3.5/5, price - 4/5, food - 4/5.<br/>A must-visit place for people in and around Banashankari.
Sunil Bharadwaj
I've been going to this SLV for about 20 years now. The taste hasn't changed one bit. They have renovated the place recently. I love the food here. Literally everything here is good. If you want to grab a quick breakfast and don't mind waiting for your food and standing and eating, then this place is apt for you.

Branded one of the LEGENDARY coffee bars in Bengaluru, this place stands for it's word. The place is usually always crowded with the localites, so make sure you're ready for that!<br/><br/>Ambiance and Parking :<br/>It's just a small place where you have the billing counter at the left and the food counter in the middle. No place to sit / no tables around. Parking is limited to 2 wheelers in the front as it's near to the BDA complex of Banashankri.<br/><br/>Food :<br/>All I could have is the Idly - Vada as they were out of Masala Dosas ( This does happen sometimes when they're out of the aloo stuffing )<br/>The Vada is one of the crispiest vadas I've EVER had! Idly was soft and moist. Chutney, being the traditional coconut chutney.<br/><br/>I'm bound to visit this place soon and try all the other lip smacking food!<br/><br/>Recommended :<br/>Vadas, Masala Dosas, Khara baath, Bisi Bele Baath Coffee.
Varsha
Visited this place often during my college days. Even today it has the same taste and following of people... Just in love with chutney served ... 😊<br/>#SLV #BDA Complex #College time adda

Typical South Indian breakfast comprises of the soul satisfying super soft IDLI VADA dipped in pipping South Indian chutni. SLV coffee bar located near BDA complex, Banashankari serve best food in the area. Softy Idlis and crispy Vadas with dipped chutni is something which every person in Bengaluru must try. Must try in this place is Idli Vada, Khara Bath and yummy Dosas. It was a small place before, but it's renovated into a bigger one now. 5/5 for what they serve. So nothing else, visit today.

A Legendary coffee bar, has been from serving lip smacking breakfast items from decades, this place easily serves the best Idly in Banashankari locality. They have made quite a mark with their Idly & Chutney. Remember they don’t serve sambar with idly. The hot idly served with chutney along with a dollop of butter makes one crave for it.  Extra charge for Butter, They do have a separate counter at the entrance of the hotel to serve only Chutney, One can imagine, the demand for their chutney !!!. Uddina Vade- extremely crispy on the outer, and as you dig in, it becomes soft, the combination is just unmissable. Crispy Masale Dose, they don’t use red Chutney, the aloo gadde palya, chutney combination goes well. This place offers very limited items, and is crowded all the time. One must have little patience to enjoy their offerings, their staff manages the crowd effectively. The other items which one must try is their Rava vade, Uddina Vade, Masale dose, Kesaribath & Kharabath. In the afternoon they serve Rice items. As most people say, the breakfast is not complete without a good cup of filter coffee, and this place doesn’t disappoint us. All the items taste good, Pocket friendly, Accepts only cash.

A great place with dedicated staff and effort for hygienic food with wow taste. I would recommend the maddur vada for sure, dosa were crispy with delicious masala

LEGENDARY - Don’t have time to read the review.. forget it. Just go and munch! <br/><br/>Food / Drink - Idly, Vade, baths, doses, and.. coffee! And oh.. btw.. everything is awesome. How could you describe awesome! Tender idlies, crisply Vades and chow chow bath from outer space. Yes. You could check that! <br/><br/>Price - Old world charm price. Inflation has pushed it up. But still.. affordable nook! Value quotient is exciting. <br/><br/>Service - Fast. No non sense service. Chatty staff at the counter. Separate chutney counter. What’s not to like. <br/><br/>Ambience - Brilliant. Recently expanded. But hasn’t lost its old charm. Love it.<br/><br/>Location - Bang opposite to BDA park. Oh.. wait. The BDA park and complex are opposite to SLV!<br/><br/>Parking - Street. <br/><br/>Speciality - Idly + Vade + Chow Chow Bath + Coffee. <br/><br/>Must try? - Yes! And one more Yes! <br/><br/>Pro tip - Go hungry dude. Else, what’s the point!

I've been going to this place for last 22 yrs.. The place has expanded recently, but the taste that they have been offering ever since my first visit to this place is the same. When I first went here, the price for 1 plate Idly cost me 8/-. Now the price is 20/- or little more than that.. The idly's that you get here are soft and superb.. Their Kharabath is too yummm as well. I'm not a fan of their rice bath though.. Rava idly, dosas are good as well. The crowd in this hotel will certainly tell you the story.. Awesome is an understatement. I've been a loyal customer till now and will certainly maintain my loyalty to this place.

SLV always brings back memories of good old school and college days ,....self service restaurant ....Well the menu has changed they used to serve only idli before...now they serve dosas , but the taste remains the same ... the idli -vada is absolutely a delight with hot spicy 🌶 🌶 chutney.....if you are in this part of bangalore then check out this place 👍😊
Abhinandan V
One of the best places for idly, vade and dosays. They serve tasty, excellent food. Menu is limited, but taste is good. Sambar is not served with idly, but chutney is good enough. No seating available. It is a darshini style hotel. Located in Banashankari very close to BDA complex, it is easily accessible. Price is decent.
Pranjal Ranka
The idly chutney Sambhar dosa is absolutely mouth watering. If you are travelling from another city you should absolutely try it. It's clean and hygienic as well

Great Idlies, Vadas, liquidy Coconut Chutney, Kesari Bhaat, and Filter Coffee. Frankly, I liked this as much as I did Brahmin's (Basavanagudi), Veena Stores (Malleswaram), and SN Refreshments (JP Nagar). Would recommend going to the closest one to you.
Shashidhar Setty
Historic place of eatery 😉. Idly vada, khara bath and coffee are a must try. No sambar only chutney.<br/><br/>Although there is no seating available, quick service ensures you eat and leave.
Girish Kumar
Been in this area for almost 30 years now & have been eating the crisp vadas & soft idlis since then, BSK 2nd stage has become synonymous with SLV.. few years back they introduced dosas as well, I love the Kesari bath & Khara bath, afternoon lunch u can make a combination of ur own by taking a rice bath a Maddur vada to go along with it & curd rice to complete the lunch.. everything about this small & very recently expanded stand in restaurant is superb.. not to forget the chutney.
Dr Raj
used to visit this place regularly during my college days in bangalore..best idli and vadas I ever had in my life..khara bath is also great..they don't give sambar but the coconut chutney makes up for it..5 stars..
Kayva
Amazing South Indian breakfast. Only concern is that it’s crowded all time and you will have to wait to get your order. Anyways taste is worth the wait
Karthik Shivshankar
If you are looking for soft & steamy idlis dipped in awesome chutney, visit this place. Outlet layer of Vade is very crispy but very fluffy inside. Kharabath & vade together dipped in chutney is speciality here. Am their customer for over 20 years! <br/>Always thumbs up for SLV 👍👍👍
Amruth Talanki
They serve one of the best idly's in Banashankari and for some this place is the best idly place in Bangalore. <br/><br/>Their idly is super soft and fermented to perfection, the best part is their chutney which comes along, it tastes soo good, you can even drink it plain. The combination of idly+chutney is to die for, totally satisfying and does justice to your cravings.<br/><br/>Their Vada's are not to be missed, extremely crispy and deep fried to golden brown, like I said, it tastes best with their chutney. I bet you cannot stop with one vada. <br/><br/>A must place for breakfast in Bangalore, you will never be disappointed.<br/><br/>Taste 5/5<br/>Quality 5/5<br/>Quantity 4/5<br/>Pricing 5/5

One of the busiest places for South Indian breakfast. It is jam packed especially during mornings and evenings. Idly is delicious and chutney is a great complement to it. Dosas are ok and can be improved.
Rahul Ramachandran
Best place to have idly and vada , chutney is the highlight<br/>Idly is pretty soft and vada is crispy, any time<br/>Of the day you have mouth watering idly and vada , any time of the day it will be crowded

A small place with great taste.visited this place yesterday for breakfast. This place serves tummy filing and delicious breakfast options. had masala dosa followed by filter coffee. The coffee was too good.had sumptuous meal. One of the best meals I have had recently. worth a visit.
Srinidhi Hebbur
this place is make a fast food joint for South Indian food. the doses or crispy and the tasty green coconut chutney.<br/>my other favorites are the kharabath and the Kesari bath. the kharabath is not so spicy and the chutney compliments the kharabath.<br/>the Kesari bath is extremely tasty and colourful to look at is also filled with the dry grapes and cashews for the perfect rich taste.<br/>the staple, modest Idli is soft and a perfect snack for a lazy evening. I prefer my Idli along with the iconic uddina vade with chutney.
Poornima Mundra
Sunday mornings are about south indian traditional breakfasts and when the craving for a buttery delicious dosa erupts, I head straight to this outlet of Banashankari. It has been a hit since decades. The efficient service combined with hot crispy dosas makes one relish their first meal of the day heartily. To add to it, the filter coffee and kharabath and kesari bath are some good dishes on the side to relish. However, my favourite at this outlet remains the crispy yet soft and scrumptious dosa that has generous and generous servings of butter in it and one dosa fills a hungry stomach easily. Being a fast food arrangement, the decor or ambience is very basic but the service, efficiency of servers and the delicious food will win your heat by miles. Do try the vada too, it is crunchy and delightful and goes really well with the hot filter coffee.
Tejaswini Kalro
Food : They serve the best idlies I have ever had! The chutney is amazing.<br/>Service: Quick, but you might have to fight your way through the crowd to the food.<br/>Ambience: can be improved.

There are very few restaurants which serves the best quality south indian breakfast. This is one such iconic place in Bangalore.<br/><br/>It's Located opposite banashankari BDA complex park. No seating available and was a very small cubicle type. Just 2 weeks back they renovated and have made it spacious now. <br/><br/>Their coffee is to die for. They used to serve masala dose only during evening. Now that they have renovated they serve for breakfast as well. Dose is very famous and lip smacking. <br/><br/>Vade is crispy all the time during the day. Kharabath and chutney is one more speciality. Idli is also best here.<br/><br/>My go to place any day and it'll always be crowded but waiting is so worth it!
Ankit Agrawal
Small place but big in taste, fresh idly and Vada with amazing chutney is something really a must try. Famous for breakfast but I think they sell idly and Vada throught the day,<br/><br/>My report card<br/>Price – 8/10<br/>Taste – 8/10<br/>Portion size - 8/10<br/>Service – 8/10<br/>Ambiance – 4/10<br/>Cleanliness - 7/10<br/>Value for money – 9/10<br/>Will I go back – Definitely

One of the first coffee bars I relished <br/>This the oldest eateries in Banashankari <br/>I remember going from childhood . A lot of memories <br/>They offer a wide variety of dishes <br/>Idli and mouth watering chutney <br/>Dosa varieties <br/>Rice options <br/>My favourite is a single piping hot idli, vada with a dollop of butter with the classic chutney <br/>Must visit <br/>Try anything you will not regret

Once of the best food place in banashankari, just opposite to bda park. Though a small place where u have to juggle to get your order but the taste makes u forget all this.. be it the soft idli and vada with chutney, chow chow bath and bisi bisi coffee.. perfect breakfast..
Sri Vatsa
Small outlet where in u will have to juggle with the crowd but that is worth it. The best mouth melting idli n vada in Bangalore. Their masala dosa is also equally Fab. The chutney to accompany all of their dishes is awesome. The best part is their piping hot coffee after the heavy breakfast gives you a satisfaction that makes it complete.
Sharad.damani Sharad.damani
Have been a regular to this place from my school days. The price of the idly increased from 2.5 to 15 rs now. Amazing idly with benne and chutney to die for . This place not lost it's charm...its taste ..and its regular patrons. Coffee is a must. Even curd rice is amazing.
Daniel Nova
The place is very famous in Banashankari, so it can be located very easily with the help of localites.<br/>The food was just amazing, Hot soft idli and crispy uddin vada. That chutney deserves an award, it so subtly spiced yet you get all typical South Indian flavors of the chutney. Tomato Bath was ordinary. Don't visit the place for the ambiance, go for the amazing food and nostalgia. <br/>Overall, must visit place with economical prices. <br/><br/><br/><br/>Ambiance : 2.5/5<br/>Taste: 4/5<br/>Service: 4/5<br/>Quality: 4/5
Sudhay Upadhye
Best place ever for a quick bite and the dishes are amazingly delicious..... The crispy vada ... Smooth and melts in mouth idly .... Golden brown, fried in ghee masala dosa... And of course the coffee to die for.... Absolutely amazing.... U have to eat in slv if u r in BSK 2nd stage Bengaluru...

Perfect place for a nice early sumptuous breakfast. The softest idli I've had, I'm not the biggest idli fan but gobbled it up. Lovely filter coffee as well. A simple place where you will have to stand and eat your meal quickly. Opens really early as well, I went there at 6.30am.
Usha S Acharya
On the go breakfast point. Typical south Indian breakfast place. Idli, vada, chatni and coffee makes a good breakfast. Pocket friendly and tasty.

I was always planning to visit this restaurant as this is one of the oldest restaurant in Bangalore.Having heard about this restaurant many times and my love towards south indian food finally made me to visit this place.so i ordered Masala dosa and uddina vade and they serve only chutney no Sambar. first started with uddina vade and it was crispy and chutney served was really great.this chutney taste reminded me of the one i had in kaapi katte. Then followed by Masala dosa,it was crispy and there was no red chutney inside dosa and potato curry stuffed inside dosa was also good.Dosa too tasted great.Since i loved uddina vade ordered one more and loved out second time too.And lastly since so many customers were ordering coffee just wanted to try it.Though i don't drink coffee regularly ordered it.coffee was strong and tasted good. This place will be crowded in morning for breakfast. Very small place and one has to stand and eat. Overall an excellent place.Love to visit again.
Pankhuri Dhingra (FoodTravelPedia)
Anytime favourite place for idly and chutney, situated across the park. The idlis are very soft and hot and chutney is spicy . Ambiance purpose don't expect anything , no sitting place very small space. But the taste of the things is awesome. Try the kesari bath here and you will love it.
Chirag Lalwani
Awsome taste!! been there several times..... always satisfy my cravings for south indian food :)<br/>taste - 5.0/5.0<br/>Ambiance - N/A --- here, doesn't matter at all.

Anytime the best. One of the oldest idli vada outlets. Heavenly delicious hot idli vadas, dosas and kharabath available to completely satisfy your taste buds and you tummy. This should be followed by aromatic coffee and it will make your day.

This is my regular breakfast spot, here there is nothing like this is good that is good bloody everything is too good. There are few more breakfast Kings in bangalore but this guy is no less he's superb at what he's serving. He's definitely on #2 in bangalore after mtr (lalbagh).<br/>Must try - masala dosa(roasted), idly n vada, coffee, kharabhat. <br/>Taste - 5<br/>Ambience - 2<br/>Service - 5<br/>Value for money - 5

Right across a park, this place is always crowded. Good food at reasonable price, and with the name SLV, it represents the Darshini culture of Bangalore.<br/>Their kesari bhath and chow chow bhath (khara + kesari bhath) are delectable. The kesari bhath always comes with bits of pineapple and cashew. Their coffee is good too. I've tried their masala dosE but that wasn't up to the mark. Their idli & vadas are fresh and quite good too.
Sudharsan
Idly that melts in your mouth and vada that is crispy outside and fluffy inside.  End the meal with a tumbler of filter coffee that is out of the world! The authentic taste of Bangalore lies right here. No wonder this place is flocked with people starting from 6 AM when it opens.
Varsha Krishnan
I traveled 18 km just to have some breakfast at this place, and it was absolutely worth it! It's a very small place with no seating. But the food, perfect and delicious! I'm a major idli fan and this place has really great idli. <br/>Must try: idli and vada

Benne masala dosa,, idly vada chutney ,, kesari bath ,, pulao, ghee rice ,, maddur vada, last but not the least FILTER KAAPPI,, all the above mentioned items are worthy to taste ,, typical southindian Karnataka hotel ,, masala dosa n coffee combo goes gr8 ,, main defect is no sambhar😃

Best idlis on the planet. Khara Bath and Kesari Bath are must haves. <br/>An ideal place for Sunday morning breakfast, this legendary eating joint has been a delight for South Bangaloreans for decades now.<br/>

Legendary for it's Idly-Vada-Chutney combination.<br/>Visited few times with friends for breakfast.<br/><br/>Crispy vada is the highlight. Though bit pricey and over rated, Definitely a VFM and must visit.
Abhiram Ravi Bharadwaj
This place has the best masala dose I have had till date. One more item which isn't very popular but really good is the maddur vade. The idlys are also very soft and nice, but I prefer sambar with idly and you don't get sambar here.
Apoorva
A very small place serving amazing South Indian food. Though the menu is very simple, the taste is good and the price is totally worth it. My favorite is idli, vada and the hot refreshing filter coffee. However they serve only chatni and no sambhar.

Very good taste and quality... Must visit... One of the oldest outlets just like the veena at malleshwaram... Must try all in the menu... Always crowded...
Bengaluru Food Walks
Sri Laxmi Venkateswara coffee bar! Located in BSK 2nd Stage, Opp to park. <br/>This is really a quick bite restaurant 🍽 nearby. <br/>A very small outlet, where it's very old and they have cash counter, when u enter to your left side of the outlet. <br/>They have a token system for each item, where we need to go give the token to the person to give our order. <br/>The service was quick as it was crowd enough at the morning. <br/>Orderd idly and wada, just wanted to try these two. <br/>Idly was hot and vada was crispy enough to make us feel good. Chutney was not up to the mark, where chutney is the main source for these idly and wada. <br/>Planned to head soon, to taste other food item.

One of the oldest and yet coolest places at banashankari. This place hasn't changed with the years that I have grown up and yet it a beautiful place and the best place for a plate of idli and vada along with the famous ,mouth watering chutney!<br/>An old concept which is now copied by a lot of other new places that has opened up recently like by 2 coffee etc.<br/>So ,brahmins is by far the best but slv is not far behind. This is one of those places that has stayed for long and has lived to make the localities happy and doesn't care if it's not in one of those top must - have places in bangalore.<br/>They are the best with idli and vada but also serve mouth watering khara bath and dosas.<br/>This place has just managed to carve out a place for itself in my heart .<br/>Overall,<br/>Ambience -4.5(stand n eat outside )<br/>Staff- self service<br/>Quantity -4.5<br/>Quality-5<br/>Taste-4.5<br/>Flavour-4.5<br/>Plating-4.5<br/>Pricing-4.5

A bit overcrowded for obvious reasons this place is pretty old and serves authentic south indian food. Dowside: No place to sit and bit overcrowded as mentioned earlier.

I love to visit this coffee bar any no. of times for Idly and coffee...<br/>and always i find it's crowed.<br/>We have to lineup for tokens and then to collect your order. <br/>It's a self service hotel.<br/><br/>They serve idli with chutney and is delicious. Idli is so soft and melts while eating. <br/>And tempts for one more idli.<br/>And after hot idli, its must to try filter coffee, which they are famous.<br/><br/>Ambiance : 4 , Its a very small place without seating arrangements<br/>Rate : 4<br/>Service : 4, We have to collect order by ourselves.<br/>Taste : 4.5<br/><br/>Enjoy your fooood..

Best place ! No doubt! Just go on a weekday to enjoy their yum masala dosa becoz on Sundays they won't prepare dosa as the place shall be heavily crowded for breakfast! Must try is idli chutney, it's their signature dish and you'll be able to witness the sight of almost all the people carrying an idli plate along with other dishes😁 do try! Go on weekday go enjoy masala dosa! Don't expect ambience and all just go n hurriedly eat n come back! Price is quite economical for their quality!

One of the best south Indian restaurant in the neighborhood. Known for its south Indian breakfast items like idli and dosas. Very good taste. Hygine. Nothing great about ambiance. Simple place.

Nothing flashy in this place and this eatery is all about simple yet amazing food. Perhaps the best place to have breakfast in bsk 2nd stage. Best Idli-Vada
Nicky
Best upma i had with amazing chutney. Right infront of a big park but parking is huge issue. Their coffee is good. Dosa not so great. The park infron of it is very beautifully done

A coffee shop right in front of bsk bda park.<br/>Masala dosa was not up to mark.<br/>But the chutney was great blend of taste.<br/>Coffee was served hot but not something great to point. Idily and kesari bath a must try.<br/>Price wise its costly compared to other such type of coffee shopes.<br/>

This one of the oldest eatery in South Bengaluru. The menu is like this -<br/>Idli<br/>Vada <br/>Masala dosa<br/>Khara bath<br/>Kesari bath<br/>Rava idli <br/><br/>And the most important COFFEE!!<br/><br/>Though the options are limited, you will find happiness when you eat them. I always have the idli and chutney served hot and it just melts in your mouth. All the dishes served here are too good. But the only con of this place is to stand and eat here. But this is the most fun part of this restaurant and highly economic.<br/><br/>And last but not the least COFFEEEEEE. It is a stress buster.

Do not miss this place! Great food for a good price and it tastes amazing. They give only chutney and no sambar, but somehow it tastes great in spite of that and you don't really feel the lack of sambar much. <br/><br/>Expect the place to be crowded in the mornings, especially considering its small size, but that does ensure freshness of the food. A great place for breakfast if you don't mind standing and eating.

Best breakfast joint at Banashankari. Breakfast hangout for all Banashankari crowd. Idly, vada, kharabhaat with chetni is epic. Must visit place Sunday morning.

Awesome IDLI n VADA of the town. This is an ever crowded place. Have been visiting this place since more than 4 years. Try Idli with butter as an add on. It gives heavenly taste.

Eat out !!<br/><br/>Wen food is heavenly taste .. Who cares about ambience ..<br/><br/>Their VADA and chutney combination is awesome.. Even kharabath is equally awesome..<br/><br/>Wen ever i travel by mysore road .. My 1st pit stop is SLV !! <br/>Heavenly food 😍. 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽

Crispiest vada in town! Chutney is heaven with idly uppittu. Coffee is good too. It's a very old food joint very famous for south Indian breakfast. <br/><br/>Food is good, they need to maintain cleanliness.

It is very gud to eat... and u can enjoy the food to the core... dosa is the best... it can be affordable by every class of people... I enjoyed it very much...

This restaurant is beyond rating :)<br/>Worked / Partied all night? hungry kya?? SLV hein na...<br/>Whenever i am awake till 4 am, working or otherwise, i deliberately push myself till 6 am just to treat myself at SLV. Its a feast for taste buds and worth the wait.<br/>Idli and chutney here is dope! and trust me one would never have had a idli chutney like this anywhere in Bangalore, wait... anywhere in India I guess! Masala dosa is another killer. I am a die-hard fan of Khara Bath. No one makes an Upma like that.. not even my mother ;)<br/>Coffee-Tea is good too and so are all the items mentioned in the menu. <br/>I wish the place would have been a bit spacious coz it gets over crowded too easily. I guess few places are iconic and they need to stay that way! Nothing has changed in SLV since 30 years !<br/>The restaurant is open from 6 AM to 8 PM all days except for Sundays it is open till 12 PM.<br/><br/>Updated Review:<br/>SLV has gone through a good renovation and is more spacious now. It's cleaner and looks more hygiene. In terms of food, it taste as good as ever and the taste is not compromised.<br/>Love SLV 💛

SLV, opposite to the BDA park in Banashankari, serves the best idlies and crispiest vadas. I have been visiting this place for almost a decade. The taste is so consistent every time I go back. The kharabath is great as well. <br/>The place is pretty small, but the service is super fast. There isn't any place to sit, except for the steps of nearby shops and the park's steps, if you are willing to cross the road. <br/>It's a great breakfast place and the humble idly vada chutney from this place will definitely impress everyone

Masala dosa tastes good than every other food here. Kesari bath is also good. Place is small and crowded most of the time. Though the food tastes good, i feel few foods are over priced...
Suhas Manjunath
One word to describe it's unique recipe on Idli-Vada-Chutney - 'Simply Superb'. I found myself lucky to grab a plate whenever I pass on this restaurant. Pocket Friendly and Unlimited Chutney makes you feel food craving for this dish which they offer. Other dishes are good too.. Do try once and never miss an opportunity to visit this restaurant.

Nice place. Nice food. You get to eat some typical south indian food here. Masala Dosa and Vada are mouth watering. Do give a visit to this place if at all you happen to be somewhere nearby there.

Been going here since the time I was a kid. It is a small outlet with no seating area and it is forever crowded and the crowd just keeps increasing. In spite of the crowd, the service is really fast and you'll have your food fresh and hot in your hand in under 3 mins. Though it seems like a place where hygiene would be of concern, they do maintain good hygiene.<br/><br/><br/>They are well known for south Indian breakfast items like dosa, idli and vada, khara baath and the like. Being a south Indian myself, I absolutely love everything they have. The chutney they make is stupendous! The filter coffee is just on point and gives you that boost you need for the day! The prices of course are very cheap.<br/><br/>A plate of masala dosa and vada in one hand accompanied by filter coffee in the other seated on the footpath with a couple of friends is a perfect formula for a lazy Sunday breakfast!

Being a fan of south Indian breakfast its hard for me not to like a legendary place like SLV which produces one of the best idli and dosa and the mouth watering chutney ......just amazing .......i remember this restaurant from when I was a kid......when ever I go to the devagiri temple I visit this place .....my grandpa always celebrates his birthday here with his temple gang :P ...try the idli first! And then the dosa...prices are low and pocket friendly .....if ur a south Indian food lover this place is a must visit..........only complain its always crowded ! Other than that one the best darshini in Bangalore !

Limited menu. What IS available though, is outstanding. the chutney is lip smacking (no sambar- no complaints though). Be it the khara bath, idly, vada or the dosas, everything is excellent and goes perfectly with the chutney. Easy on the pocket as well. Head over if ur anywhere near bda complex, 2nd stage.

Slv banashankari- It just scores superbly well on all the parameters of food quality, freshness of the food, overall general upkeep (may be am partial on this front) and above all service quality & consistency in the quality of the food
Prashanth K R
This place is just a second one after our kitchen, words cant describe the taste here, only taste buds speak the moment idli, vada lands on the tongue
Hrushikesh Gudi
This place is always crowded at any point of time in a day. But it is worth to visit this place to taste the best idly's and crisp vada with chutney. They do not serve sambar, but the chutney is very tasty. It is not spicy and very light with mustards. There is a boy who is seated just to serve the chutney. They will serve as much ad you want it. I also had khara bath here which I liked. It was hot and very tasty. There is no service, you should stand outside the hotel or stand under the tree to savour the taste from this hotel. Quite a place this is which surely has the right ratings !
Ghanashyam Chakravarthi
One of those places that serves the best idli Dosa in the city, but doesn't get a mention in many places... Old place but taste is just brilliant, be it Idly Vada or Dosa. If you go to BDA Complex BSK, you've to definitely go here...
Suhas Prabhu
Top in town.... Nothing comes close. Best idli, vada n khara bath. Do not venture to other dishes. The chutney makes the difference... That's the secret sauce. Do not make the mistake of taking parcel, the chutney is just not the same. Going there for more than 15 yrs...you gotta give it to them for consistency... It remains just the same old........ Sigh :)
Aishwarya Sharma
The best idlis in town ...they are so amazing that you have to reach here on time .. Otherwise they are finished .. It's a very old little shop hiding behind a tree.. But the crowd will make it noticeable..go before 8 you'll find yourself the best plate of idlis

" Full Time Fully Crowded by Foodies"<br/>This one a small place near BDA complex running from pretty long time with a fixed menu with fewer items. Kharabath, Maddur Vada and Dosa are must try dishes over here. All dishes served only with chutney, no sambar available here. <br/>Pocket friendly hotel. You need to eat in the middle of the clumsy crowd.
Dr Yashaswini K
Small authentic south Indian eatery at bsk! You have only self service here. The awesome idly and khara bath u get here is heavenly. Coffee is also great. No cappuccino or latte can stand in front of it. Recommended!!
Rahul Khemka
i have been to this place a couple of times .. and have even traveled from koramangala to eat over here... <br/>dosa or idli or vada take anything.. and u would forget the best of places where you would have eaten before.. the service is also too damn fast...
