Good quality food with nice ambience.
Too costly. But taste is good.
Had Bisibele Bhath for 100rs. Won't fill half of stomach also. But taste is good.
Coffee costs 45rs. No mini coffee served.
Service was very good. Server will suggest you food as per need.
No parking available though.
Amit
Had combo breakfast meal for 190 which comes with mini dosa and mini coffee. All in one package to taste most of the things they have to offer. Car Parking available on the street to the side. Clean washroom although with water spill on floor.

THE BEST DOSA I HAVE EVER EATEN, absolutely magical! The chef be making the worlds best dosa casually!!

The MTR foods are really tasty and there is a pure vegetarian taste.
But the food is so costly, that we have to adjust it.
I request MTR to open restaurant near Rajijinagar or near Malleswaram so that we can go very frequently

MTR - Mavalli Tiffin Room.
One of the iconic food joints in namma Bengaluru.
Taste the authentic Masala Dosa and Rava idli here.
They have the best Filter coffee.
Sometimes you have to wait in queue but it's worth the wait.
Very good service provided by trained staff.

Had mini meals and ragi dosa for dinner in MTR. Order was taken without any delay and food arrived on the table soon. Food was fresh and tasty. Mini meals is as good as a full meal as it had generous portion. It had both curd rice and plain rice.
At the entrance to the restaurant, there's a counter selling sweets and savouries. The atmosphere is good and attracts decent diners. Prices were reasonable, considering that the restaurant is well maintained and hygienic.
There deliver through the popular food delivery apps.

The best rava idli with potato gravy in town. My family also likes to eat masala dosa, keseri bath and their filter coffee. It is a traditional style of restaurant serving the authentic south Indian breakfast. It is quick eat dine in restaurant.

MTR - A legendary name in South Indian comfort food…!
Being a south India I love to explore the the south delicacy and MTR is been top of the list since I started exploring the food
This branch has got all its signature dishes with perfect flavours
Mouth watery flavours in beisibele bath,
Crispy and tasty poori and
Masala dosa is something to die for,
Even though we visited around 8:50, they served everything freshly prepared.
The staff is very accommodating
Please do visit MTR to witnesses the real taste of South Indian cousins
Tapasvi Nallapati
One of the best breakfasts I ever had. The Dosaa are crisp and soft.
Soumya Mishrikoti
I solely love the place whenever I visit here, for the taste that it has to provide. The authentic south Indian breakfast is what is to be admired here. I tried mini breakfast combo and cannot just stop gushing over it 🥰

MTR has always been a Bangalore favourite for me. Don’t miss their crispiest onion rava dosa- the sambhar, chutneys and dosa were all amazing.
Even the simple idly and sambar was good. Don’t miss it when in Bangalore!! Service is good, ambience not that great though.
kunal joshi
Must try lghee roast dosa and chow chow bath and filter coffee anf don't forget to taste pudi dosa..
parking is not available here.. you have to find place of parking before visiting...

Pride of Bangalore!! If you want to try good veg food... This is the place to go!! It's a bit on the expensive side but food is worth it!! Recommend to try masala dosa.....
The place is very clean, friendly staff, quick service and good food!! Would definitely recommend to try atleast once!!
AMARJEET S H
The food here is really nice, especially the Masala Dosa it's the best. The waiters here are very kind and humble. The only thing that could be better here is the lights, they are quite old and dim, But overall this place is good.
Neharika Jindal
Must visit for an authentic Karnataka breakfast in Bangalore. The queue is quite long, even at 7 in the morning, so it's always better to send someone ahead to keep a table! The menu is pretty standard, idli vada and some buttermilk, although I didn't like the idli much. They run out of different items pretty quick, so,the earlier you visit the better it is!
Aditi Prasad
I didn't even know of this place for a long time. It's so close to majestic and food is just amazing!

There is no second thought about the taste of food. Especially the masala dosa here is sooo apt and crisp. Loved the pooris as well. I have tasted masala dosa, poori, Bisibele bath, RAVA dosa and coffee. And for me the order of the most liked would be masala dosa first and then poori, RAVA dosa, coffee and last one would be bisi bele bath.<br/>A good place for sweets as well. I have tasted their gulab jamoon and tastes quite good. Rating them 4 star only for the price. Cost of the dishes is comparatively quite higher than usual.
Lakshmi
Quality has definitely dropped! Their dosa's are not as good as they used to be. However bisi bele bath is the besttt !<br/>Rasmalai was surprisingly very good too!

We went here on a working morning, and the place was still pretty crowded. We had two masala dosas, a tea and a coffee, and our total bill was 260₹. The dosas were delicious, however with time, the portion Sizes at MTR have reduced while the prices have increased.

MTR has many outlets around the city, but this outlet is located in the heart of the city, near Majestic Bus Stand. Its an iconic restaurant serving the classic south indian recipes.I ordered filtered coffee and a rava masala dosa, the dosa was the best I’ve ever had, served with thick sambhar and green coconut chutney, it just melted in my mouth. The best place to come with your friends and to chit chat over a cup of coffee.
Kunal Kumar S
Mtr the iconic place for South Indian breakfast I tried here was SET DOSE & AKKI ROTI ! <br/>Both were just great! The place was super clean! The staff were very courteous!

Missing on variety. Not suited for families for lunch. Only meals, poori, bisibelabath and upma for lunch. I finally had to come out with just a fresh juice as a person who doesn't opt meals for lunch.

Mavalli Tiffin Rooms, MTR Having its origin in the city of Bangalore , it has a restaurant located on the Lal Bagh Road in Bangalore and 8 other branches in the city. It is recommended to reserve a table for lunch since unreserved customers have to wait in a waiting room, sometimes for up to an hour.

A perfect place for masala dosa and filter coffee, the place is almost always busy, the service is quick, staff is efficient and the taste is always great.<br/><br/>A must visit place<br/><br/>Taste:9/10<br/>Service:8/10<br/>Ambience:7/10<br/>Value for Money:8/10

MTR is popular for its South Indian eatery, has had Bengaluru eating out of its hands since 1924, it’s one of the oldest places in Bangalore. . <br/>I am not really an idly person, mostly prefer some kind of crunch in my food, Rava idli has it all and to top it..they are served with ghee!! The food taste absolutely yum but felt for that price, another rava Idli should have been served..<br/>Dosa was good and worth it.<br/>.<br/>.
~Trencher Man~ 😋
Very costly!!!!! 🙄<br/><br/>Had one south Indian meal!! I feel price what I paid was not that worth!😔<br/><br/>Eventhough they provide variety of food taste is not that good!! 😐<br/><br/>So better for one time visit!! 🤗

One of the worst Vegetarian Restaurants I have seen,<br/>Had Masala Dosa at evening from one of their outlets in Bengaluru with family and baby.<br/><br/>Utterly smelly and expired masala served in masala Dosa, coffee were very tasteless. Even after reporting that the masala dosa was extremely expired the outcome was they will change it as just a casual word. They changed with plain dosa with the same price .What a crooked way to loot customers<br/><br/>Typical Indian restaurants always highlight in boards and ads adhiti Devo bhava but show their arrogant behavior towards customers and not even a single word apology for serving unedible filthy food. Had this incident been in Singapore , Dubai these guys would beg our feet to not report to Food Control Depts..this would be my last to visit MTR .The Streetwala local veg outlets are far more humble than these guys<br/><br/>MTR is pathetic to extreme
The Diary Of A Belly
My dosa journey brought me to this grand place which has lots of outlets here in the city of lake.<br/>As the name goes, I went in for a small evening snack break, coincidently I ordered their "Masala Dosa". To my eyes, nose and taste buds, it was an absolute adventure. Talking about my eyes, they were just glued to the presentation and nose couldn't resist the beautiful aroma while it's taste left me in an awww!<br/><br/>Filled with the regular potato masala mixture made with mustard seeds and onions. The inner part was lined with light green less spicy chutney. The base was bit thick and cooked well. Serve with a beautiful thick sambar, mint coconut chutney and a beautiful small bowl filled with melted ghee. Just fabulous!<br/><br/>I also dug into their "Dry Jamoon" which is a slight hard dark coating with an immensely soft inner core filled with high level of sweetness and the ghee fried Jamoon had an amazing taste.<br/><br/>I also tried thier "Spl. Mysore Pak"<br/>It was quiet rich and made in ghee. As soon as you take a bite of it, it will melt immediately in your mouth. Highly recommended after a meal.

One of oldest South Indian cafe in Bangalore!<br/>But kept very simple but quality of food is really amazing!<br/>From where should I start <br/>There dosa are really amazing.<br/>There taste of sambhar is one thing to die for,<br/>Menu vada are crispy but soft from inside.<br/>You get this Badam halwa only on Saturday but a mouth watering dessert <br/>There fruit salad bowl must try this .<br/>One of favourite there South Indian filter coffee <br/>If you are foodie must checkout this place!<br/><br/>

Mavalli tiffin room, in short Mtr is one of the oldest places in Bangalore popular for typical south Indian breakfast. Lalbagh being the main one, it has 8 other branches in Bangalore itself. Although the waiting time here especially on a Sunday morning requires a hell lot of patience, the food served here makes up for it -worth the wait. The light and and crispy dosa makes you crave more of it. It's served with two tiny cups of ghee. The chutney is spicy and on point. Then comes the MTR's famous Rava idili. It's just heavenly. To end up with, the Bitter coffee here served with a cup of sugar makes a great way to end your meal. Overall it's an amazing place if you're craving for some south Indian food

MTR,a place on my list for South Indian delicacies...and it lives up to the hype...though the staff is not at all courteous..but their food will make you forget everything... I went there to try their meals, but sadly it was finished.. then we ordered dosas which was served pipping hot along with a small bowl of ghee..though the dosa was oozing with ghee, but it was yum... The chutney and sambar were also very nice..I would recommend everyone visiting Bangalore to try Thier cuisine once.. its worth a try...

Well it was a weekend morning when I just got down the train and a friend came to pick me up...and chose to host his way by treating me to this authentic place on the way to my another friends place....after a long train journey..the steamy idly and aroma filled sambhar and a hungry tummy....seemed like a perfect morning ..and filter coffee just took me to heaven.

I was in Bangalore and Hungry in the morning and crave good quality food and searched Zomato to find this restaurant nearby. Loved the ambience and cleanliness. Loved ragi dosa 😍

From a person who doesnt fancy south indian food, this place is one exception. I prefer walking into the newer MTR than the original one as its easier to find a seat without long waits. MTR is another known gem and extremely popular name in Bangalore. If you are reading this review to decide if you wanna try them, then without a doubt walk it order and walkout with yummy food in your tummy. <br/><br/>What do i love? <br/>Vada dip<br/>Rava idli<br/>Masala dosa<br/>Mini meals

Benne Masala Dosa from MTR, a famous outlet in Banglore that’s been running for almost 100years ❤️<br/>Especially if you’re looking to try the Karnataka Sambar visit this restaurant 💚<br/>Also try their Puri & Sago 👌🏻<br/>Slightly costly but worth the bucks 😬<br/>.<br/>Fact : During World War II, MTR found it difficult to make idlis since rice was in short supply. According to MTR, they experimented with semolina instead of rice and thus invented the very popular breakfast item of Rava idli. MTR also holds a record of being the first fast food restaurant in the world to serve 21,000 customers in seven hours<br/>In 1975 when India was under emergency, made it difficult for MTR to maintain high standards in its restaurant business and forced it to diversify into the instant food business, selling ready-to-eat snacks such as chutneys , spices, instant mixes and rasams forming MTR Foods .

Awesome Dosa. The ghee they serve with it is out of the world. Great for snacks. We went there for breakfast and were served well. Happy customers.

Man that upma was amazing!!! It's a must try because for someone who doesn't eat upma I like it here... It's just perfect 😍 Parking is quite difficult since it's a busy road. Overall the food is really good... Will go back and try different things for sure :)

Found this too, to be highly overated. Have had better southindian food in smaller n less know eateries in bengaluru. Taste was very mediocre. Liked the rustic old look of the place though and coffee was good.

If you wanted to taste real, traditional south indian food then must visit place !! Variety of mouth watering ,delicious yummy food !Idli, dosa, rice etc etc

Visited the famous mavali tiffin room for lunch. Had mini meals, rava idly. Rava idly was excellent with a dash of ghee and sambhar. Meals had poori, rice, sambar, rasam, veggie, kurma and payasam. Taste was good. The curd rice was slightly sweet.<br/>Had gulab jamun which i didnt like much... tasted diff in terms of flavour. Good hygenic ambience.

Everything is over priced.<br/>Its just the name and the food is not so good,it's good but definitely not worth the money.<br/>They are famous for their bisibelebath.<br/>It was good.<br/>Very costly compared to normal darshinis .

#Foodengineeringg<br/>This was one good place to have a very good meal and it's very well known for breakfast fast and lunches.<br/>I happened to go on a lunch and I need to wait for about 20 mins to get a seat... My god it was that busy, that too in a weekday.<br/><br/>The thali had 22+ items where few are just phenomenal like, masala dosa, chutney, poori, bisebella bhaath, kesari baath and pakodi.<br/><br/>Tho they were many items i loved these...<br/><br/>Would love to again and again only for these few items over there.
Mohana Sundaram Sugumaran
Decent ambience and no complaint on food taste. But having said that the quantity they give is not for hungry stomach. A coffee and a masala dosa which is chappati size cost me rs.125. This is only for the big pockets. Thanks.

We went to this place to grab a quick breakfast. We opted idli-vada. For a change idli was square in shape. Never heard or seen before! Vada was crispy and tasty.

One of the best places I went to when at Bangalore to try to South Indian Food!! Amazing Taste of the Dosas, Uttapam and the Coffee!<br/><br/>We friends just gathered and had loads of Food with Decent Bill. Good Value for Money! <br/><br/>Service Quick! <br/><br/>I loved the Place & Got to Know the Full form of MTR too after going there! :-D

A restaurant being run from ancient times and still having that amazing taste in its food . One plate of idly is quiet sufficing for a breakfast .. it’s that huge ..
Hemanth R
The ambience is done great. The hygiene of the place is way class compared to the parent branch near Lalbagh.<br/><br/>The go for food always here are<br/><br/>1.Vada-crispy,tasty.The chutney and sambar simply makes it better.<br/><br/>2.Masala Dosa-The place definitely has lost the charm. The taste has just come down by several notches below par. The heated Ghee in the small cup, chutney nor the sambar makes justice to the beautiful dish. <br/><br/>3.Coffee-Excellent,no second opinion on that.<br/><br/>Value for money-bit on the higher side compared to the competitors.<br/><br/>Attitude of the waiters if adjusted could make the dining experience better.<br/><br/>Cards and Cash accepted...
Manisha
This a nice place with somewhat nicer staff. The food is very good. I liked what i ordered. A little pricey, that's the only drawback. The coffee there is one of the specials, and its damn good. Might give it a go once.

Great south indian scrumptious food.<br/>I have been to there Lal Baugh outlet as well many times. I love the lunch Meal here very much.<br/>Gulab jamun is just Yum! one must try.<br/>

Good for food at least they serve all dishes now, taste remains almost same and don’t expect quality service which can be availed at MTR near Lalbagh

A must visit place in bangalore!! I guess it's one of the oldest tiffin room in d city..I remember eating only the meals here..its sumptuous.. I still remember the plates here.. They wre so warm.. I loved the bisibhele baat n rita combo n dry fruit kheer..!

Add: 39/40, Hansa Pratheek Building, 3rd Block, Hanumanthappa Road, Gandhinagar, Majestic, Bangalore. Timings: 7:30AM to 11AM, 12Noon to 2:30PM, 3:30PM to 8:30PM. Cuisines: South Indian, Avg Cost for Two Persons is Rs 350. I was staying in as hotel near by this restaurant, saw it once so we both went for breakfast one of the mornings. It was leisurely served and food was tasty and mouth-watering.

So I've wanted to visit this place since I saw it on 'planet food' and finally after years I did get to visit it.. it is Food for the soul.. one of the best curd rice and bisi belle bath I've ever had..with a lil serving of ghee things just get better.. the dosa was super soft.. we were here for brunch and were left filled till late evening..super friendly for the pocket.. legendary place undoubtedly. <br/>We also had muffins they had for sale at the counter.. so soft and so good
The Indie Foodie
An average place that serves good dosas. The dosas are served with a dollop of ghee. The Dosa is average but the kesari bath is a different than the narm of other restaurants. The cost for two comes to be around 300. I would not normally recommend this but the idlis are very good. This is situated near the majestic junction.
Sachin Prabhu
MTR is simply the best restaurant in Bangalore. It's legacy will be carried years to come considering the taste of food. They serve the best of food. I love dosa and coffee which they serve♥️

The plane looks very hygienic and we'll maintained. we went there early morning, there were waiters everywhere and everything was systematic. I am not a fan of idli and dosa. I like the place as it offered a nice breakfast menu.
Priyanka Singh
I have heard numerous times the legendary tales of the idli shops in Lalbagh. The pillow-soft idlis with dollop of ghee on top served with generous amount of chutney ,mouth-watering masala dosas and piping hot coffee.MTR met all my expectations.
Cuisine Bull
Went here for breakfast on my first day business trip to bengaluru. Although in morning they have limited option, but who wants option when they have best idli and dosa. Loved how they serve ghee with every dish. Coconut chuntney was scrumptiously good. <br/>Overall experience:4/5<br/>Food quality:5/5<br/>Service:4/5<br/>Value for money:4/5<br/>Recommendation: must visit MTR.

MTR has become so big that most of their customers doesn't matter for them.<br/>The staff is not well trained to take care well and arrogance is very evident in few of them.<br/>Hygiene is also missing so as presentation.<br/><br/>A taste of Masala dosa is still same which contributes for 3 else they need to get serious in their business.<br/><br/>
Sonal Khedia
Horrible service and behavior. Extremely rude staff! Takes wrong order and then argues that all of are wrong and he is the one who heard correctly . Such a disgrace to the reputed brand.
Hookaholic Foodie
MTR one among the good places to visit with family there. The pricing is also not that high and the taste is also good. I had some starter there and a few things parcel. Their cake is also good. And even the puff.<br/>Food-4/5<br/>Service-3/5

We had to catch a train from majestic and had some time in hand. So we decided to have something and walked to the nearest MTR. Ambience is quite normal. Service is quick. We ordered one masala dosa and one rava dosa along with coffee. Food was good and value for money.
Pankaj Thorat
My love towards the local Indian food was driving me to visit MTR during my visit to Bangalore. Heard a lot about the authentic taste of south Indian food at MTR. Finally got the chance to visit today early morning for my breakfast. MTR withstand to all my expectations. Though the ambience is average... The cleanliness, service and finally the taste is unmatched. <br/>Firstly we order Vada Sambar.... but surprised to see the jumbo size of Vada. While eating we realised it was already soaked in hot sambar and it was just melting in mouth. The taste was surprisingly refreshing. After that we ordered Masala dosa which was served with tasty coconut chutney and sambar...the dish again beat our expectation. Finally we completed with a strong filter coffee. After sipping I realised the reason... why people love coffee in South India. The aroma of coffee is still in my senses. Overall a wonderful experience. Thanks MTR for making my day. Keep it up.

Amazing breakfast center....<br/>Especially the masala dosa i have had over here is the best I have ever had and the point is they have been maintaining thier quality over years...<br/>In short it is best place fir traditional South Indian breakfast

Location & Ambience: As soon as the train reached bangalore the first thing I did was to search for the location of MTR that was near to the railway station; this outlet happened to be the closest one and we grabbed a cab to reach the spot. So just follow the maps and you will reach the spot without any trouble. The place was maintained well and nothing specific to rave in terms of ambience. <br/><br/>Taste & Variety: After hearing so much good things about this place I was excited to finally try the dosa here. The menu majorly circles around breakfast dishes and they also have meals and variety rice for lunch. It was almost noon when we reached the place but we went ahead to order their most famous Masala Dosa; also ordered Ragi Dosa, Kesari (sweet bhath), Tea and Coffee. <br/><br/>The spiciness from the chutney spread over the dosa and the masala was too good; the crispy edges of the dosa and the irresistible flavour of ghee was extremely delicious and it was hard to stop with just one masala dosa. The coconut chutney and the tomato chutney that came with Ragi dosa needs a special mention and both were really yum. And coming to the sambhar, the sweet touch didn’t make it appealing for my palate so I just stayed away from the sambhar.<br/><br/>The ragi dosa was good too and it did come as a surprise, because it isn’t very easy to nail the dosa especially with Ragi flour as the main ingredient. Finally for the tea, coffee and kesari, there were no complaints but the kesari wasn’t the best in terms of taste.<br/><br/>Quality & Quantity: The portion is apt for a person and the food quality definitely excels that’s why the place stays strong over the years. <br/><br/>Price: The bill was Rs.240 INR in total for the above said dishes, it definitely isn’t reasonable but for that delicioso dosa that seemed worth. <br/><br/>Don’t forget to visit this place if you travel to Bangalore. And the rating is just for their DOSA!

Good place for weekend breakfast. We usually end up here after a weekend walk at Cubbon park. I love to eat rava idly and dosa. If u want parcel, please carry your own container for sambar as they don't pack sambar. Awesome filter coffee
Vijay Goel
went to this place for dinner.ordered poori,it was worst than papad and it crumbled into fine pieces into granules when i tried to eat.they made with dried atta and they have least respect for customer when it comes to providing quality food while charging more.they don't even switch on ac if there are few customers. why should we pay ac bill for table fan air. after all this third rate stuff, they look for tip.you will get better rava idly at half of the price in anantapur. these people are just living on brand mtr without any quality food. over-priced and low quality.
Girish Joshi
Service : This place the typical flavor of service which usually all south Indian restaurants have. The old sort of waiters just remembering your long order and repeating it exactly correct. Asking for tea coffee once all order is placed and getting the things in the order you want.<br/><br/>Food : Do I really need to say anything about MTR ? This place has history attached to the name and the outlets like this one are sticking to the fame they have earned over years. That idly with small portion of ghee is always mouth watering and the different taste of the khara-bath (upma) and kesri bath makes you wonder what have they put into it. <br/><br/>Ambiance : This particular place has the better ambiance with modern theme compared to old MTRs. Not a thing to worry about cleanliness.<br/><br/>Recommendations : Try the rice idli and khara bath.<br/><br/>If you are a visitor in Bangalore or a walker/runner, this is a not to miss morning breakfast place.
Bharadwaj Singh
Good place. Taste is amazing. Full of ghee in all of the dishes... Its nice.. Ordered special thali <br/>Very limited menu but the legacy is still continues
Antriksh Shah
One of the best place to eat crispy dosas topped with ghee... the best part about this branch is, you get to seat and enjoy your meal in peace unlike some of the other mtr branches. The ambience is nice, ideal place to dine with family members.<br/><br/>Only flip side is, 70-80 Rs per dosa in bangalore is a bit on the higher end. There are so many places serving good dosas at a cheaper rate.
Shrinivas Bal
Best place for South Indian breakfast. Good service, nice ambiance, teast delicious. Ghee is icing on cake I mean on Dosa. Neat, clean place. This is my first time visit to this place, I am very much satisfy.
Debatra Mazumdar
This was the first time I'd tried a traditional South Indian vegetarian thali. We were served a jamoon juice, which was great. Also loved the payasam and the rasam. Set dosas were too good. Worth a visit, but the outlet's location is a little awkward. It's around 15 minutes walk from the bus terminal.
Shreyank Gowda
Everyone knows that the dosa and poori and pretty much all south Indian items in this place is fantastic. This review however is about those items that mostly go unnoticed here. The curd vada, one of my favorite items from here! Then there's the badam halwa which just melts in the mouth. Then there's chandrahara a sweet given only on Sundays that gets sold out by noon. Those 2 are among the best sweets I've ever had. Then there's the bakery items such as the bread toast, jam bun etc which hardly cost anything and taste superb! So if anytime you do get bored of the south Indian items here (I've never been) do check out all these other options along with the fruit salad with ice cream, which is also amazing!
Vikyath Bangalore
MTR mostly famous for its Dosa , Idly, Bisebalebath, Chow bath etc has its branches all over bangalore and serves the best coffee which is highly refreshing when you are on a snooze mode,
Prashanth
MTR is losing its sheen. It has become like a govt office. Pathetic service even the food was bad. And if its near closing time don't even bother going in. They 'll treat you as if they are giving you free food.

Been to different outlets of the famous brand.<br/>Love the breakfast here. Clean place, good staff, and food that is worth the money paid.<br/>My favourites: Masala dosa, Vada, kesari bath, and filter coffee.<br/>Sure to steal anybody's heart😁.<br/>So if you re looking for a place to have a good South Indian breakfast, this is where you should go:)<br/>Happy munching:)

Stopped by post a client meeting. Ordered a South Indian mini meal, decent quantity and quality, prompt service. <br/><br/>Golly this is all I had to say but Zomato needs more meat (140 characters 😂😄) but really not much to be said. <br/><br/>If you around and got a rumbling tummy this you can crash in here and ease the hunger with some Vegan grub.
Dhaval Bhadra
Pros: Ideal place for breakfast. The rawa idly and bisi bele bhaath were delicious. The small helpings of ghee served with every dish just add to the experience.<br/>Cons: The curd wada left a lot to be desired. Even the service is slow.
Amit
We tried our hands on rava idli and traditional filter coffee. They serve every dish with ghee. And as usual rava idli was out of the world. We loved it. Coffee was strong.
Puneet Praveen
All Dosas, Bisibelle Baat, and coffee being best in the place, it has the worst interiors, bad hygiene and ambiance suck up big time. Service is also slow. NO AC NO 5-Stars !! Being located in the busy streets of Bengaluru at Gandhi Nagar near Anand Rao Circle, it always has hell lotta crowd. People eat and go crazy only coz of the brand name and nothing else. This Branch of MTR is totally disappointing.

Great for morning breakfast . Service is slow . <br/><br/><br/><br/><br/><br/> <br/> <br/>

They have maintained the Standard of MTR what we usually hear about..Situated in Gandhinagar, quite near to majestic with a decent Ambience...Most of the items are very tasty here, but we should not miss out Rava Idly and Masala Dosa with Extra Ghee on the Top ;)
Bhakti Shah
An amazing place for having breakfast. I love the dosa with ghee on top. Rava Idli and sagu are worth a try! Their service is not bad. It is a clean restaurant.
Vasu K
The place is over crowded at all times. Minimum wait time is around 45 minutes on a Sunday morning, but the food here makes you drool and is worth the wait. My favorite here is their masala dosa and rava idli. They also serve some amazing akki roti in town, but unfortunately it's available only in the evening.

A good & Hygienic place near Majestic Bus Stand for Authentic South Indian Food. One must try the Rava Idli, Masala Dosa, Wheat Dosa & Kaapi over here.

This was my first day in Benaluru. As we walked out of our hotel in Gandhi Nagar at Majestic we bumped into MTR 1924. We walked in without any hesitation and any second thoughts. It was around 10.30 am and the restaurant was more or less empty except for a couple of people who were savouring their morning cuppa.<br/>A quick glane at the Menu card let us down. The menu card had 4 distinct time slots lisitng out the items which are available during these times. The first slot is between 07.30 Am to 10.00,then 10.00 to 12.30. 12.30 to 3.30 pm and 07.30 pm to 10.00pm is meals time and 04.00PM to 07.00PM evening snacks time.<br/>Why we felt mood off was that as per menu rice idly, vada etc were not available.<br/>Ask and you will be given. It is so said in The Bible. So we did .We asked and we got whatever we wanted.<br/>Rice idli was steaming and excellent. The sambar and chutney were also praise worthy. While gulping down the second plate of idly,we ordered for sad masala dosa and rawa masala dosa which were also excellent. Then came the coffee.piping hot coffee was served in steel cups in typical south Indian style.<br/>It was a fantastic beginning for a three day stay in Bengaluru.<br/>Kudos.<br/>My rating<br/>Food: 4.50<br/>Ambience:4.00<br/>Service: 4.00(mechanical)<br/>VFM:4.0

I always visit this place whenever I am travelling to my native. I usually eat akki roti and Khara bath. It's good. You can not say it's amazing. But its one of the better places near mejestic to eat.
Food For Thought
The food at MTR has always been great, be it the morning breakfast favorites like Rava idly, Masala dosa or their excellent special thali for lunch. <br/><br/>Went to this outlet for lunch and asked for a special Thali, which i loved having at the JP Nagar branch. I was told the special lunch will take some time, so i was recommended to go with the special mini meals. But to my disappointment, just after serving me the mini meals, i saw people being served the special lunch.<br/><br/>The mini meals starts with a Grape juice and a snack, both of which were really good. The main meal consists of 2 poori's, palya, sambhar, rasam, chips, bisi bela bath, curd rice, steamed rice and a payasam. The entire meal was superb. But still regret of not being served the special meals. Missed it so much all these months being in Chennai. Bad service.

Authentic South Indian food.<br/><br/>The dosas are to die for. And the filter coffee are the perfect compliment with all those south indian dishes. The ambience is okay. However, the original MTR still wins on taste hands down.

We went there and had South Indian fixed thali for lunch at this outlet. Along with this also had Rava Idli.<br/>The place and food are almost as good as their original branch so the quality is well maintained. The ambiance is okay and the service was very quick, at least for the dosa it was<br/><br/>Ambiance - 3.5/5<br/>Food - 3.5/5<br/>Value for Money - 4/5<br/>Service - 4/5<br/><br/>Rating: 3.75/5

Iconic once upon a time...Mtr is considered to be an institution of lip smacking food in past, but it became as a normal restaurant loosing its iconic status long back, they are still surviving because of their authentic dosa which remained same since decades..<br/><br/>Its best to leave the rest as there is nothing great to write..Prices are really on higher side and not worthy for darshini kind of fare..<br/><br/>Go there juss to cater your hunger but not for an extraordinary dining experience.

I have been to this place along with my best buddy. My God! I was so shocked at the que and the price for the thali that they are serving. I felt they might be surprising with lots of good stuff. But The food has too much of oil or ghee or worst of all dalda. I was so filled right after having the starters. After completing my lunch with great difficulty, I came out of the hotel and felt like puking and sat on the ground for few minutes as I was unable to handle that much of oil in the food. It is too much to have even for an Indian food lover like me. I would only suggest you this restaurant if you can really handle lots of oil and ghee otherwise just chuck it.
