Brilliant food! Loved the biryani and the tunday kebab along with the lassi which is definitely recommended. The best part is the food is prepared right in front of you. Minus the biryani since you can't make biryani in the matter of an hour.
Kudos to Akshath for being a great host!

Came here with my friend, he used to enjoyed the Punjab's cuisine in here.
I tried their Chicken Biryani, taste super good and drink 2 kind of lassi.

The decoration is antique and the owner are great for services.
I recommend this place to you.

'Qissa khawani' is an explosion of taste contained in a tiny box.

This tiny little eatery is located in church street and is easily noticeable. When I say tiny, I mean it. Literally. There's absolutely no place to walk, let alone sit. Barely 6 people can be seated at a time. There's no ventilation either. You'll always find people waiting outside to get a seat. So it's best you go early and grab yourself a seat.

The food is the highlight here. It's lip smacking. I had never experienced food like that before.
Here's what we had ordered:
1. Butter chicken - TOO GOOD. Couldn't get enough of it. It was delectable.
2. Mutton seekh - it was the first time I had tried mutton and I absolutely loved it! MUST TRY.
3. Naan
The food (in terms of quality) is spectacular. Hands down. No complaints whatsoever. The quantity though is very poor. For the price you're paying the food you get is very little. But there's absolutely no compromise in taste. So it doesn't really matter. Also, they serve the food in foam containers and it's quite irritating to be honest. Nonetheless, the food is the stronghold here and it definitely doesn't dissappoint.

The service is slow. There were just two people. It took forever for the food to come. There's definitely scope for improvement.

Overall, 'Qissa khawani' is extraordinary. The quality of food here is just something else all together. You cannot get enough of it. Definitely a MUST VISIT!

Had mutton Biryani and gilouti kebabs. I can safely say that this is the best kebab and mutton I had in Bangalore. Really soft and tender. Prices are very reasonable and owner very helpful and respectful

THE BEST AWADH STYLE BIRIYANI IN BANGALORE
.
Without doubt they serve the best awadhi style mutton biriyani in the town. Located at the heart of the town at Church street, this is a cozy little place with an old school live kitchen ambience. The walls are decorated with grilled iron rods and earthern pots to give the authentic look. The chef hails from Lucknow and is skilled in giving us the same taste we expect from Lucknow mughlai cuisine.
.
We first tried some kulhad chai which was perfectly made. Then we had some galouti mutton kebab, which is minced mutton with onion, fried on tawa which just melted in mouth perfectly. The taste, texture was awesome. As they used the pure ghee for their kebabs, the taste was more enhanced and flavourful. We had these kebabs with some mughlai paratha and mutton korma.
.
Then it was time to try the Biriyani which I was eagerly waiting for. We ordered just half plate and we're happy to see the quantity served. They serve mutton dum biriyani with raita, one gravy and onions.
.
Plus points of this Biriyani
1. The ghee used was very good quality, which enhanced the flavour.
2. The mutton pieces were good both in quality and quantity, lucious, delicious mutton pieces.
3. They didn't use rose water, which actually makes the biriyani heavy and bad afterbreath. This was a lighter biriyani which you can actually eat in more quantity without being heavy at a time.
4. It was authentic dum Biryani, not a simple pulav or fried biriyani and made with pure Basmati rice.
.
These are some of the reasons everyone should try their biriyani with friends and family. I totally loved their food and hope all of them like it.
.
We closed our lunch with some sweet-salt lassi which was again very light one with a consistency of chaach. It was in one word a perfect lunch.
.
Even the staff and chef there makes you feel home and you can enjoy cooking with them as it is a live kitchen, good value for price.
.
Highly highly recommended

Amazing Food , Music that makes you nostalgic , simple decors and some amazing hosts is what defines @qissakhawani. If you're looking for some well cooked meat and splash of Flavours of Lucknow on your plate you must visit this place. My personal favorites were the Mutton Galouti Kebabs and the Mutton Biryani. A bite of Galouti Kebabs which melts in your mouth with a spoon full of the rich biryani and Mix of spices of Mutton curry is the real treat your taste buds deserve 😋

A very simple and cute place located in church street, in the same complex of Indian Coffee House. The menu has limited options. Loved the entire concept of this beautiful place. You choose the dish u want and they prepare right in front of you from scratch. So, you know what goes into the dish😋 Only 5 people can dine at one time. A good food place for small group! One of a kind experience. 100% value for money.

This is what you get when you take a dhaba out of national highway 1 in punjab/haryana and install it in Bangalore. Punjabi food doesn't get more authentic than this (south of maharashtra) Fixed menu of buttery curries, dal makhani wtc. served with naans and laccha parathas straight from the oven, with sweet and masala lassi. A warm staff tops it off. The restaurant itself seats just about 6-7 inside and 2-3 outside. So takeaway may be most convenient. But to enjoy the absolute freshness, wait is worth it.

I am a big queens fan. But since that place is shut, Qissa is a good alternative. They are a bit pricier so 4 stars for them. The dal makhani, tandoori roti and lassi is a great combo.

The most authentic North Indian food freshly prepared in front of your eyes. Loved this concept. Do try out the brocolli starter and the tadka lassi. Amazing taste and preparation.

So this place. It's quite unusual at first. A small space crunched shop in Church Street. So small so that only there is space for 5 people to sit and eat. But once you are inside Qissa Khawani it's just not some oridnary eatery. You get to sit in front of this kitchen which is an amazing feeling it's like having one to one with your food. Watching it actually get cooked infront of yourself. The real magic is their food. I had rajma chawal, mutton pulav and Tadka Chaas and man this was some superb food out their. A must try place. Ratings 4.2 actually.
