Review Gowdara Mudde Mane - Bengaluru

Yesh Shre
Must try for nati lovers Must eat are mutton chops, mutton kurma, kheema, boti, karela fry, chaakna Every item has its own taste different masala. They also have dhoom that is tail part and Appu fry the back of lamb. Dhoom was good , appu fry I felt it had more fat. Dhoom, appu and Karella all tasted same but different parts of lamb. Biryani was a let down, they said they do different type of biryani everyday. When we went they had nati style was let down. Will definitely visit again to try other items

It has a small entry way but has a huge seating space inside, best quality meat, and the taste is mild catering to every taste bud. They have different menus each day. Do try.

Beautiful experience visited on a Sunday. Tried mutton chops, mutton brain fry, mutton biryani and one more mutton fried item. Everything is well cooked and the taste is unique. Place is nicely accomodating and they also serve you with some treated water to drink. One must definitely try if you are near Kanakpura road. Above all the owner was really really nice and welcoming. He really treated every common guests equally and recommended us what to have. Prices are very much affordable and I hope all these things are kept the way it is.

Best authentic gowdru nati style non veg food. Been in 2010 and visited now after 12 years.. food is good and would recommend egg boti, mutton dishes. Now they are allowing to carry liquor, family seating is different than who come to enjoy non veg with drinks. Quite big compared to 2010

Had been to Gowdru Mudde Mane on a Sunday for lunch, this is a must and should for all the food lovers especially non veg lovers. On the weekdays typical Gowda style vegetarian menu is available over here. Distance : From Mysore Road probably it was around 12-13 km which took us 24-26 mins. Ambience : Every room is named after a politician in Karnataka like DK Shivkumar, BS Yediyurappa and so on. We were in DK Shivkumar !! The place is clean ,neat and well maintained. The Menu is something very unique, try anything and you will absolutely love it. Kemdasampige is a chicken starter which kids enjoyed the most Chicken lollipop was so crispy crunchy and tasty Dhoom Tava Roast is a dish prepared of tail portion which was so soft tender and tasty, this was the first time that I ever tasted this food and it was worth it Mutton Karela is also something that one must try , that was so crispy Nati Koli biryani with the Raitha was also one of the kind with the nati eggs served as a part of biryani. Chicken kabab was also crispy and tender . Special Mention for the warm jeera water that was served with the food. We need not have to purchase mineral water as the boiled jeera water was much better. Nothing felt too spicy or oily or overcooked, everything was just right and perfect. The best part is the way everyone in the restaurant were so courteous. We had ordered one plate of kemdasampige , within a minute we received another plate of kendasampige with 2 pieces in that and we were surprised and said that we had ordered just one. Then the person who served us said that two pieces in our plate were small so he got us that extra !!! We also met the owner and he was polite , humble, greeting and thanking everyone who wished him. On a whole visiting this place is worth the time and money .

Rating 4.5/5 Almost a 5⭐️ rating with some improvements required in the service and definitely the parking! The place does get crowded and the service can get slow towards the busy hours of the weekend lunch, we ended up staying close to 2hrs while ordering for the below Mutton chops meals (4/5) Mutton Masala meals (4/5) Mutton pulav (5/5) Mutton karela fry (5/5) Chicken fry (4/5) Absolutely mouthwatering dishes specially the mutton fans will get their monies worth. Apart from the usual Nati style menu you have some additional varieties which are worth trying like the mutton karela(don’t go by the name) The dining area is divided into rooms with names, we sat inside the DK Shivakumar room! They have mentioned about their usage of home made spices, the place has a nice setup, almost a live kitchen experience and that’s what makes it a complete dining experience. Pro Tip: go for as much starters and not the meals! You will that way get more variety.

Mutton lovers paradise, everything we ordered were fresh and tasty. Loved the quick service and the friendly owner of this place. Went with a big group and got a chance to taste everything on the muton menu which was available. It was worth every penny spent on the food here.

Finally went to this place after the YouTube video of food lovers and Ashish Vidyarthi. Mutton Pulav and mutton kheema were awesome. Chicken Nati biryani was ok. Got the dining place easily. Overall a pleasant experience.

Wow!!!! Visited this eatery after Kripal's nd Ashish Vidyarti's YouTube vlogs. Food was simply amazing. Tasted Kaal Soup, Chicken Kendasampige and Nati Koli Chicken Biriyani all were Superb 😋 (Pics posted below) Now liquors are also allowed separately. Don't miss this eatery if you come to New Forum Mall @ Konankunte Cross Or near to Kanakapura Road.

Love the food and their focus towards the hygiene factor. The Mutton Chops was truly amazing, enjoyed it to the core. Would like to dine in next time, so that we could taste more dishes.

Best Nati style hotel. Bannur mutton. Family restaurant. Tender mutton. Kheema with jolada roti. Mudde is not good. Thale kalu super.

Food lovers rejoice, this place has some mouth watering dishes, not the image to bother about ambience etc... Just order in or pickup the food. Great place to binge with guy friends if you care more about the food than the ambience

You get one of the finest natti style non veg and veg food . Really impressed with the quality , taste and friendly behaviour of staff and owners. It was really shocking to me to see that they serve best Veg food as well for meals and it tastes delicious . They make different authentic South Indian curries everyday and it’s one of the best veg curries . Must try dishes Non veg : Mutton chops , Karella fry , mutton roast , mudde , akki roti , Biryani . They have a board put up right at the entrance which displays where exactly so they buy their Meat, vegetables, ingredients from , impressed with the concept of transparency .
Highly recommended to try this place if you are on Kanakapura road .
Taste : 4.5 / 5
Value for money : 4/5
Ambience: 3/5
Quality and pricing : 4/5
I would rate 3 for overall experience. Ambience is not extraordinary and food is also ok. But I felt it is very expensive as compared to its peer restaurants. For example nalli for 2 pieces was 350rs which I have not seen even the top restaurants charging so much. Boti was full of kaalu (boiled beans) and was charged 180rs for that.. Not at all worth.. 3 star only for namma karanataka style restaurant..

Heard a lot about this place so decided to visit this with family ! What impressed me the most even tho we were here post 2:30 . Our food order was on our table within a span of five minutes. We had leg soup, Ragi mudde, chicken biryani ( tasted like the typical Donne biryani ) , Mutton Nalli fry and yummy chicken chops. And ended our humongous meal with Rasam! The Rasam was bad tho.

BTW this place has BYOB

This a best place to have the mutton dishes, my favourite is their mutton fry and mutton chops. They are Spicy and yummy. This place serves alcohol, not advisable if you're looking to fine dine with your family as the ambience is not that welcoming.

My IG handle: sothumoota

Being a foodie, I always wanted to go for authentic mutton dishes and so I came across this restaurant. If you go on a weekend, there will be some parking issues as it's located in a narrow lane. The manager was very courteous and took us inside where families sit.
I couldn't wait and I ordered mutton biriyani, chicken dry, mutton chops meal, and nalli fry. In addition, you always have to order soft drinks with it.
1) chicken dry- It was average and nothing great.
2)nalli fry- This was a standout dish as the meat was very succulent and it melted in my mouth. It was oozing with flavours and I thoroughly enjoyed it.The mutton piece skidding out of the bone was a treat to watch.
3)mutton biriyani- they call it as mutton pulao and not biriyani and it was the speciality that day. It was very tasty and the quantity of mutton was sufficient. So full marks for the biriyani too
4) Mutton chops meal- this comes with plain rice, mutton chops and mudde(that's why it's called as mudde mane)..The mudde complimented well with mutton chops which was spicy and spot on with taste.

Overall I would definitely recommend this restaurant to any mutton lover out there. The price of the dishes are not too expensive and the service was lovely.

“They have Best Mutton curries”. The place is simple and they serve good non veg curries. We have 9 Mutton Chops, 1 Mutton Kurma, 2 Mutton liver, 10 Nalli Fry, 3 Mutton biryani, 4 Boiled eggs, 2 Fish Fry, 1 Naati Chicken Curry. Fish fry was so so but mutton items was best in bangalore. Only issue is there language. Place is also for alcoholic. One can seat there and can have beer or any alcohol.

One of the best places to have Naati style chicken curry with rice and mutton masala with rice. Apart from South Indian, North Indian people will also love this palce and food. Keep visiting the place regularly with my Kanndiga friends

I always try this place as it’s close to my house. The place is simple and they serve authentic Gowdru oota. I always try their Naati chicken curry and it tastes like home made. Though couple of time the chicken wasn’t tender, but the curry tastes always the same. Fish fry is not good and whenever I tried it was the same experience. They should try other varieties of fish other than rough and cuttle. Anyways, the place is for chicken and mutton food, try to avoid fish there.

Not Bad!

It was quite difficult to spot this place. It’s on the byroad adjacent to Kanakapura road which was not well lit up and kinda dingy. We had been here for dinner. I asked for a ragi mudde along with mutton chops. The mutton chops was super tasty. Mudde/ ragi ball was a bit harder and not hot though. We asked for rice and kheema balls. Kheema was good.

The place looks simple. Nothing close to a restaurant or a dining setup.
The waiter suggested us the popular dishes and was quick in getting food to the table. I also feel the food was tad bit expensive!
Jagadish
Lazy waiter, we asked for Biryani rice he told everything is closed and only white rice is available and later one more waiter ordered Biriyani when we told about this he was panicked and started telling it is available but not chicken biriyani, I think these people will bring bad name to hotel brand

If its ambience you want then this is clean but no fine dine. You just need to enjoy the food and ignore who is seated beside you :-). Food is absolutely tasty and service is quick. The owner gives personal attention to all his customers and one leaves with a smile. But yes, recommended to go on a slightly empty stomach and wholeheartedly enjoy the food.

Ambience - 2.5/5
Food - 4/5
Service 4/5

I had been to this restaurant for lunch after relentlessly hearing about chilli Chicken from my friend who was bragging about it, which added more excitement.

The ambience is average, given the fact people come here to enjoy the authentic south Indian style Gowda tradition dishes. As a result ambience doesn't matter Offcousre though the restaurant is maintained clean.

Coming into the food we ordered a chili chicken, mutton kheema, chicken biryani and a two rotis.
Chilli Chicken was excellent, it is no where similar to that of the Andhra cuisine or north Indian cuisine. The chilli Chicken was very spicy and tasted well, reminding you of the gowda's style food taste. The chilli Chicken also consists of gravy.
The mutton kheema was very good as well, perfectly minced mutton made into a circular shape along with the curry it can also be consumed along with the rotis.
Chicken biryani was just above average, it was spicy and needed some more punch.

Service provided at the restaurant is good, you don't have to wait for a long time. The service will are concerned and will never be a problem to communicate for people like me who don't know Hindi.

Recommended dishes - chilli Chicken, mutton kheema.
Kalyan Babu Veeramallu
Tasty food with mix of spices, one should try brain fry and mix mutton curry which includes head fry, boti and mutton curry. Ragi ball is too soft.

The food was decent but scammed us royally for nalli (5pcs=700 rs)...So beware of spare parts!!Else u have to sell yours!!😢The biriyani is ok and the starters are decent! Nothing great!
quick service, very delicious & tasty food. the hotel name itself is enough to guess quality of food. suits who enjoy traditional taste with decent pricing...
Pradhyum Puttanna Gowda
Great authentic Gowda food, the owner personally attends to customers making suggestions on what to eat what's good. I would recommend this place for good food.

Everytime I eat here.....o boy..... feels like Sunday lunch! :)
Everything they serve is just delicious!! (Always tried only mutton varieties). The mutton kheema is a must try. I am not a fan of ragi mudde but the people who like mudde, really enjoy it. Biryani is good too.
If you order meal, do not forget to end it with their buttermilk and rassam. Boy...that rassam opens up all your senses!!!

It's a place where you go for good food. Don't go there looking for ambiance. They have extended the place to accommodate a seperate family dining area. But I still prefer sitting in the old area. It has that rustic feel.
The owner is completely involved and a very humble man.
Must try...(and make it regular for Sunday mutton lunches)!!

This place has food that most military hotels have. Nice place for a ragi mudde, mutton sambar, chicken biryani. The place is not known for its ambiance, but the food. If you are a ragi mudde eater like me, this place is for you.
Nikhil Steven
Simple, economic, no fuss typical south Bangalore's non vegetarian stable. Done right consistently. Love it for what it is, great food and friendly staff. If you are not from Bangalore may be hard to understand the concept of military hotel, but fully worth a try. I recommend for the experience of a true carnivore!

I am visiting this place from past 7 years right from my college days which is on the same stretch.. Don't go by the look of this place.. You will get most authentic Karnataka style non veg food including biriyani, ragi ball with mutton and chicken gravy.. Good taste but the prices are very high recently..
Bijesh KV
A no frills attached , authentic Kannada style, non veg lovers paradise....don't read much, don't talk much ...just be there, eat eat and eat. Thats what I did !!! You will be a happy soul for sure. .....

Ragi mudde Oota! The best place for a lovely Kannada lunch. Love the mutton kaima and biriyani. Special mention- Leg soup! You just can't stop eating.

Have been visiting this place from past 6 years (when it was just started). I have always liked their food, especially the Ragi Mudde-Chicken Oota. Authentic (Gowdara) mane oota. A tad too expensive these days, but who cares when the food tastes good :)
Hajra Balarka
Good olé school stuff. A bit on the pricey side, but true authentic Kannada stuff is right here. Just that they should provide liquid hand wash instead of soap bars at the faucet.
Devaraj R
This is a true old school, no fancy , no frills, hard core meat eating hosue.
It is so difficult to find such places now a days where there is no artificial flavors nor taste enhancers or colors used in the dishes. The highlight of the place is the unique items that you get that can be rarely found elsewhere. If you love red meat (mutton) then this is place to get surprised with the varieties of lamb parts it has to offer.

This is like entering the Disney store for mutton eaters.
Mustafa Attarwala
You will be surprised by the place. Very hygienic . food is made without any color and added flavours. Service is impeccable
Highly recommended
