Great flavors, taste and arrived in chattis (pots). Unique and authentic Kerala dishes enjoyed by the family.
We recently ordered the dumporotta for Eid and boy, were we surprised! The flavours were incredible, the meat was so well cooked and the portions are massive! The spice level was just right. Everyone one in my family absolutely loved it and we are looking forward to ordering again ! I would highly recommend this restaurant!
The dum Biryani was just right on spice and flavourful. The BDF was awesome
Very tasty food.

Loved the food.. Authentic kerala food.. There was difficulty in getting a parking around
True to its name, this place serves authentic Kerala cuisine food. Located opposite to HSR BDA Layout, the place is easily accessible. Parking maybe a problem though.
We visited on a Sunday noon and ordered the Mini Sadhya. It consisted of boiled rice served with Rasam, Sambhar, Morru Curry along with three other accompaniments, papad, pickle and banana chips served on a banana leaf. Also served was two types of payasam.
The staff are very courteous and friendly. We didn't have to wait long for our food and also saw orders were served relatively quickly for other tables. The prices are worth for the quality and quantity. Definitely a must visit place to try authentic Kerala cuisine.
We didn't know about this place until we visited Chennai earlier this month. We were looking for a cozy place to have lunch and found this restaurant in Chennai. We loved the simple veg thali there. My wife insisted on trying the whole menu here and we decided to try a couple of dishes every Sunday. So it's our first Sunday of the kumarakom Sunday marathon. The food is great. Chairs are comfy. The ambience is wonderful, the air smells of spices and there is a light fragrance of shallow fried fish. The food is presented well, I just hoped for more space on the table😁. The payasam made out of jaggery was awesome. I'm going to enjoy December and January 😁
I became a big fan of kerela food after my trip to kerela. All I was tempting for kerela food I got to hear about this place from one of my friend. I thought O should try. So I ordered kerela paratha, curry curry and crab roast. Crab was spicy but it was good. The interior gives you a vibe of kerela homes. Would definitely visit once again. Thanks for the food.
I was feeling very hungry on a Sunday and wanted to have very good meals. Everything I search in zomato would give me a north Indian restaurant. Mannnn...I was feeling what's Bangalore turning into and that's when I came across this restaurant. I have had fish curry meals before so I was having a good feeling abt it and also my fiance told that she had been to this restaurant in chennai and it was great.
So we went in and and the ambience was typical malabar style. Roof painted maroon to give a antique look and soft malayalam music reminds me of my granny! Dish wise, I had to try karimeen pollichatu. It came as a signature dish and with a personal recommendation :P. Also ordered leg soup, fish curry meals. She ordered Kerala parota and chicken curry.
The preparation and presentation of karimeen was superb. Honestly, if u like Kerala cuisine, u will like this. The masala and the fish was delicious. The spices wrapped in the banana leaf and those tender meat was something special. V both had one each and loved it. The boiled rice with fish curry was good. They had provided varieties of curries and I could not hold myself back and had another round :D. Apparently, parota and chicken curry was average. By the time I finished 2 rounds of meals, she was still struggling to finish her quota!
Food 4.5/5

Overall, I liked what I had. Maybe this is my appetite talking. But if u truly like Kerala cuisine, u should definitely try this restaurant.

The Nadan Vibe with the authentic nadan food just hit me like a storm when I visited Kumarakom. I personally am not a fan of veg food but the dishes on the Onam Sadhya called out to me and I can’t believe I ate all those vegetables at once. A beautiful place to spend time with family and friends. This restaurant is among my Top 3 Go to places.
Went on a Saturday afternoon for lunch. They have a wide variety of dishes on the menu.. but when asked, only tuna was available for the day apart from prawns.
So we ordered a special veg meals with prawn ularthiyadu, beef fry and beef pepper roast. Everything tasted really good. The beef was a bit hard for me but it was good to have a proper oonu after a long time.
The food was decent and the ambience was like authentic Kerala style wooden furnitures was one of a kind experience. Had appam, Paratha, kumoraakom chicken curry, kadala curry. Appam stood out clearly, others were decent. If you were in the mood for appam would surely recommend this place.
Really a good place for fish items. Had karimeen mappas and ayala fry
Turned out to be good. The prawns biryani also turned out to be decent.
Eventhough the items were less what ever served was good.
It's a small restaurant and 1-2pm are peak hours
A small dim-lit diner with an old charm and Mollywood songs playing in the background. There wasn’t much crowd. We were informed upfront that the food will take 15mins to be served, but it came pretty early. The Kerala Classics - Puttu, Appam and Kadala curry were authentic in taste and I really loved them. Veg stew was perfect in consistency. Overall - a must try experience for Kerala cuisine lovers.
Searched out this restaurant from Google and made a visit. Didn't get disappointed. We had their special meals which is a miNi sadya and Karimeen pollichathu. Both were good in taste. Only drawback I felt is with the masala of fish pollichathu. Masala was more than needed with pools of oil inside it. That can be improved. All curries provided with meals were good.
One of the best places for Kerala food. If you are looking for authentic Kerala Sadhya then Their meals is a must try. Apart from meals tried their fish curry and prawns roast. Fish is so delicious and prawns is okayish. Palada payasam was soooo yummy. You must visit this place for Kerala cuisines.
The new location is not very eye catching and looks less spacious. Food was average and nothing was out of the box. Overall it has jumped to the category of an average restaurant. However I would like to mention the cleanliness and their quick service which was really good.
This restaurant shifted to a new place in HSR now.We had Sadya , Karimeen pollichathu and meat fry here for lunch. Karimeen pollichathu and meat fry was good in taste but the Sadya was average.
Good service and staffs were well behaved &courteous .
Very tasty, authentic food.
Great and prompt service.
Ambience is casual dining.
We had lunch at Kumarakom restaurant, HSR layout todayMay 2024) . We had vegetarian, fish and chicken meals along with beef fry. As usual, we were not disappointed. The vegetarian items were sambar, pulissery, rasam, erissery, chammanthi, pickle, pappadam and semiya payasam. Each item stood out with that inherent Kerala taste. Service is also very good - prompt and polite without too much fanfare. A very pleasant experience .
Small and quaint place serving authentic Kerala food at very reasonable prices. The portions are generous and service is excellent.
The only drawback is lack of parking space, for which customers will have to look in the adjoining bylanes.
