Review Ayda Persian Kitchen - Bengaluru

angule dazo
The food was quite authentic. Although, the mutton curry was a little too saucy. The rice that came with the curry was great. Chicken starter was just brilliant.

My friend and I visited this restaurant for lunch. The kababs were juicy and the biryani was flavorful. The ambience was especially lovely with Persian vibes.

A small joint. Could be easily missed. It's a lil off brigade road.. But the mutton chops here are absolutely delicious. Soft, succulent and just melts in the mouth. We ordered the non veg platter and fish kebabs aswell. The non veg platter had 2 rows of mutton shish kebabs, 1 chicken kebab, and a beef kebab. The mutton shish kebabs were very nice. The beef kebab was a lil dry for my liking. The ambience is Ok. Nothing fancy.

Nice interior, decent food. A bit on the pricier side. Well, Persian food is not very spicy, but it doesn't have to be so. I would recommend making the food a little more flavorful, but the amount and look of the food was impressive. *update: outstandinding dough. Ask them not to overcook the Barg, and you'll enjoy it!

I've been here numerous times for years now. The food is incredibly delicious and flavourful. Super fresh. I recommend the Sultani. This place is a must if you are in Bangalore...they will not disappoint.

Located at Church street, this place offers great Persian cuisine maintaining the authenticity... There is both indoor and outdoor seating available... You are also allowed to smoke outside... Do try out the Special Persian platter where you can taste a mix of all the kababs...

This is my 2nd time, I been there just to try there Chelo kabab. It's really worth trying. We spend around 350/- person for 4 for the total meals.

Korma sabji is really awesome, also must try hummus and butter naan
Vicky Szmajda
The place is up wooden stairs from Church St. Ordered regular size, see pic - mutton kebabs lovely texture, amount of rice is ridiculous - could only eat half my meal, saved rest for dinner! Lovely cardamom tea. Has wifi. Comfortable sofa-like seats. Quiet and cool. Staff is very good. Most importantly for India, no stomach issues!

Persian cuisine, courteous staffs, would feel like you're sitting and eating in your own house. Must Visit!

Garlic yogurt sauce should be complimentary for peesian kebabs.

The food here is amazing. The chicken platter is a must try. Portions served are also quite sufficient. The staff is courteous too.

This was a wonderful discovery for us and we've visited multiple times since then. Absolutely loved the food every single time. The staff are courteous and remember us from earlier visits and offer to customize the food as needed. Love the juicy koobideh kababs here, will be back for more.<br/>Sometimes the rice and meat is a little too dry but it has always tasted great.

The hygiene is very bad and the restraunt manager is least bothered even when you complain cockroaches running on table. Stay away if you do not want to spend more on your medical expenses

My first visit in this restaurant and very bad experience . food was really good but who’s taking order to much attitude taking too much time for giving waters .when he given bill he throws and want overall slowly going down

I had jujeh kebab, jujeh is chicken in Persian which was really well cooked. I had rice cooked with persian berry and safron which was fine but the gravy served with it was more like a tomato puree. The place gives persian feels with a good Persian music playing in the background.

Good quantity of food served. However the kebabs were not so succulent.Their flat bread was crisp n tasty. If u hv eaten authentic or homemade Persian food this place is just ok.

We were waiting for a long time to taste the exact persian cuisine. Espeically Koobideh and Jujeh. Finally located this place and were excited enough to taste the persian beauty..<br/>But all our excitement went in vein.<br/>We ordered Koobideh Mumtaz at first..<br/>Koobideh is actually mutton seekh kebab, which was served with butter rice.<br/>The quantity was quite good for two prople.<br/>But when it comes to the taste, it was dissapointing.<br/>The rice was a bit dry and not boiled properly and it had no flavour as well as aroma..<br/>The kebabs were satisfactory but not up to the mark.<br/>Somehow I dont know why it tasted much like egg omelette..<br/><br/>We even tried a dessert item, I forgot the name. It was on top of the menu card.. And It was quite good..<br/>The service was heartily and quick..<br/>The restaurant is easy to locate, in the first floor of the heart of Church street, just beside MG Road..<br/><br/>Food- 3/5<br/>Ambience- 4/5<br/>Service-4/5<br/>Location-5/5<br/>Puspita Polley

It’s a hidden gem. Having lived in the gulf and specially being a regular to few Persian restaurants in UAE like Anar and Hatem, this place has authentic taste when it comes to kebabs. The decor is a bit old but serves the ambience I felt. You would also see customer’s from Middle East there , which itself is a testimony for what I mentioned above. Food is not overpriced either.
Mildred Priscilla
The ambience was decent very Persian one would say. The place though not so spacey was neat. The food was also decent but I didn't find any unique out of India flavour in it. The kebabs had fancy persian names but weren't very different in taste from the normal tandoori kebabs, although the presentation was spot on.The biriyani was quite bland it had nothing to look forward to , the paneer butter masala on the other hand was actually very well balanced. The winglet kebabs were delicious and the portion size was also good. So if people who love kebabs out there can really go Ayda.
Yudhajit Bhattacharjee
This tiny hidden gem is Persian meat lovers paradise. Dont forget to try their kababs.<br/><br/>Rice items are not that great .. try out their kababs with breads .<br/><br/>Overall nice place to have some healthy ar hearty meal .

One of the very few restaurants serving Persian cuisine and I should say the food is great. Limited vegetarian options (except the brinjal base dishes). <br/>Kashka Badamjan is a brinjal based dish with Persian spices and herbs. Goes well with the rotis. <br/>Bakhtiyari- combo of mutton and chicken with Persian herbs and something to relish with Persian saffron rice. <br/>
Shibaan Khan
Tried Persian cuisine for the first time. The kebabs and saffron rice was good. Supposed to be the best Persian restaurant in town, but was not that impressive. Prices are a little heavy on the pocket. Good to try new cuisines once in a while.

Although not a place for Vegetarians, I still went and got to try some amazing food. The hummus with naan is too die for and some drink that looks like "chaj" but has soda in it was really good. The staff is courteous and it has lovely music playing in the background.
Anupam Sarma
One of the best places in Bengaluru for Persian cuisine. The hummus, the non veg starter and the kebabs are very delicious. The quantity and quality is good too.
Chelsea Jiménez
Not the nicest ambiance, it’s too dark inside and could be cleaner, but the food is very tasty. Hummus is good and fresh bread delicious. I really like the salad with mint and lemon dressing. We will come back soon.

Four of us visited on a Thursday for lunch at around 1:00 PM<br/>- no crowds, no waiting<br/>- nice big rectangular tables <br/>- music is fab Persian/middle eastern<br/><br/>- Doogh (masala buttermilk) is thick and creamy good<br/>- service is middling (the captain seemed not to care if we stayed or left) <br/>- Kobideh looked super authentic, like it looks in Turkey, but tasted like soya :(<br/>- vegetarian options in the Persian menu were exactly 2 (unlike in Sufi where they had so many)<br/>- baklava was nice, obviously not Turkey nice, but still it was nice to get some Baklava that was not too bad<br/><br/>Will I go again? No, because the Kobideh disappointed. Even the Baklava was not good enough to be a redeeming factor. Maybe if I ever crave a Doogh in the middle of the day, I'll go have it from there, sitting on the table overlooking Church Street, but what are the chances of that?

Good ambience, good service. Taste is not as expected as we went on a friend's recommendation and was disappointed a little bit with the taste. With a little bit of improving on the taste could make it much better 😊<br/><br/>Ambience-5/5<br/>Service-4.5/5<br/>Food-3/5

The best place in Bengaluru for authentic Persian food. The soft and succulent kababs, the heavenly biriyani and the delicious persian tea served with dates simply made my Saturday afternoon. Will surely come to Ayda on my next visit to Bengaluru.
Shabaz Abbaz
awesome food finger licking its like the taste of iran masha allah good food and good service by ayda staff and good seating facility will go again
Aameer Rafiq Wani
Nice place with authentic persian food. Very conveniently located near metro Station and over a book shop. Kababs as usual didn't disappoint. To top it all they do serve dug. It not costly either but would have given a 4 star rating if they were a zomato gold (food) place.

Went here on Saturday late afternoon as no other place was serving lunch at 4pm.<br/><br/>Food: 3.5/5 - we had ordered kadhai paneer, which was surprisingly not very spicy. But on asking them to make it spicy they made it spicy. Also need to mention about the dessert that we ordered - kunafa - we expected it to be soft and succulent, but it did not live up to the expectation.<br/><br/>Ambiance: 4/5 - a small place with lots of wall decor. The seating is comfortable.<br/><br/>Service: 4/5 - courteous staff and very prompt.<br/><br/>Verdict: 4/5 - you can come to this place to explore different food.

Had been here to order a takeaway as I was in a hurry. I ordered the Persian veg fried rice and french fries. The staff should learn to serve the food first and then ask for payment.<br/>The French fries was okay..not too good nor too bad.<br/>Persian veg fried rice was good.<br/>Overall I'd rate this place 3/3.5 stars.<br/>Management really needs to look into the manners of the staff. Just a friendly reminder to the waiter or staff that served me that day.. nobody is going to run away from the restaurant without paying for it. Serve them the food and then ask for payment. In restaurants similar to yours...they always serve the customer and then take payment for the food and service!<br/>Hoping for a better experience next time.

What a delicious discovery Ayda was. We have walked up and down this street hundreds of times, and never spotted this place.<br/>Authentic Persian food, delicately flavored and great taste.<br/>The decor is a bit dated and bulky, and since we were the only ones the service was quick.<br/>We really enjoyed our dinner.<br/>

One of the best restaurants for meat lovers. I have never tried the veg food, but I’m sure the quality will be excellent. since I’ve shifted to bangalore, at least one meal a day I order from here and they have never disappointed me with there quality and taste. <br/><br/>Authentic Iranian food. A MUST TRY !!!!
Manjleen Bhasin
Authentic Iranian Cuisine with authentic Doogh chilo kebab and Jujeh Kebab available here.<br/>They also serve iranian Smaag (powder on top of rise for flavor) the place has authentic iranian touch to it<br/>Amazing to get authentic Iranian food in Bangalore<br/>However prices are little higher and food quantity is less. they can increase the food quantity , <br/>
Bikramaditya Chowdhury
Starting from ambience to food everything was authentic persian style. Love the lamb/mutton dishes, very soft and juicy. Favorite dishes that I love are the Kobideh kebab and Baghali rice.
Sarah Ahmed
Food filled with flavours . The meat was delicious and very tenders. Love the juicy meat.<br/>Service 5/5<br/>Food 4/5 because the salad ordered was different from what they explained<br/>Ambience 4/5. It’s not maintained like it was three years ago.<br/>Over all experience 4.5/5<br/>Thank you so the lovely cuisine served
Saba Saleem
The meat was grilled to perfection and the flavours could be tasted in ever bite. A lovely out door seating that is a bit cramped up but definetly a restraunt that is worth a try amidst the crazy brigade crowds
Bidisha Mukerjea
Boy do these guys know their kebabs. I challenge you to get enough! One suggestion though, opt for naan with the kebabs. The rice is humongous in quantity and can feel a tad bland. The naans can be eaten even plain, they're that good. It was spectacular to meat you, Ayda's kitchen. I will be back.

Nice ambience. .. Good combos with the Persian menus. Value for money. Customer friendly. Comfortable ambience. Good place to hang out with friends and family.

I used to miss mutton kobidah from Sufi which got closed down. This place kinda solved that. It is almost as good as Sufi. Juicy, soft mutton. 💙 best Persian food in town.
The Bangalore Food Harem
The unassuming restaurant situated on the first floor of a dilapidated building in church street serves some pretty decent Persian food. We distinctly remember the fresh hummus served with naan (not pita) and the range of doner kebabs, both lamb and chicken. While the flavours are mellow, the meat was succulent and smoky and a perfect accompaniment to their saffron rice. However, if we were you, we would give the North Indian dishes in the menu a miss. <br/><br/>
Shravan Shetty
The ambience is done up with Persian artefacts .<br/>We spent quite some time here .<br/>We went for the lamb biryani and a mixed Donor kebab platter which was quite juicy. The mutton was excellent .The portion of hummus was also added but the taste wasn't quite there , there was no flavorful of tahina .probably they don't add tahina in hummus here

Try out the Dande Kabab. Overall great ambience. Awesome food...........................................................<br/>....................

Located at church street entrance from brigade road. Top floor dinning Persian restaurant. Persian cuisines all over the world. I thought of give a try. We tried the restaurant on a busy sat evening. Ambience @ Ayda giving a feel of old Persian feel . Old school wall decoration and lightnings. We started with hot and sour chicken soup, then kobideh kabab and rice. Kobideh kabab is a mutton meat , different taste , even their rice also different feel. Overall food is not familiar to me , but i cant say it is okey. It is too good. Because my friend she tried the food she told it is good.

Ayda is a small, old, cozy Iranian restaurant tucked in between the new pubs and restos of Church Street. This place is well decorated with Persian wall art and contemporary Iranian music. I ended up ordering the classic, Chelo Kebab with saffron rice and butter. After taking my order the waiter goes, "would you like it well spiced or the authentic way?" I obviously chose to go the authentic way, but it was interesting to know that this place also caters to people who prefer their food spicier (since this is in India). The kebab was warm, melt in your mouth and juicy. Each grain of rice laid alone in the pile of saffron rice, like little drops of pearl. I also enjoyed the chilled, pickled beets which complimented the meat perfectly.
Shandar Junaid
The best kebabs in town straight from Iran. Lovely and authentic food. Ambience is very cozy. The non veg dishes are the best here. Especially the kebabs.
Priyanka Sahu
Burnt mutton kebab and hard chicken is all we savoured at this place. U won't mind giving this place a miss.<br/>The only reason to even give a 1 star is because of the courteous staff. If only the food was appetising.
Punitasomani9
An underrated place that serves on of the best hummus and naan I've ever had. Their jooojeh and bhaurani veg kababs are a must try. They also serve a flavourful biryani. Make it your go to on a low budget and high appetite kind of day.<br/>You'll not be disappointed.
Rajiv Roy
Excellent food...ordered sultan...mutton n chicken kababs....mutton was soft..well cooked and extremely delicious....samw with chicken...only downside...they dont have pita bread...but hummus more than makes up for it.

Food - Average. Nothing particularly good or bad. However, the meat was cooked really well. <br/><br/>Service - Fast and friendly<br/><br/>Ambience - Average <br/><br/>Overall a very okayish experience. <br/>

Excellent Iranian Food, love the kabab koubeide and the various khoorost with the zeresk police great service.I visit them on every visit to Bangalore. <br/>

It's in the 1st floor of the building. Nice ambience. But the music didn't go well with the ambience. Pretty friendly staff. The service was good. Tried quite a variety of food and it was tasty. Worth the money.

One more tick off the Bookmarked restaurants to visit. I have earlier been to SUFI at Koramangala and hence was wanting to check this restaurant vis a vis the offering as per Persian offering.<br/><br/>The location - definitely a plus as this restaurant is located bang on Church Street entrance off Brigade Road.<br/><br/>Valet Parking was definitely a plus.<br/><br/>We arrived right on time for the lunch. The service is quick. Orders were taken and we were informed on the progress of the same.<br/><br/>The Kebabs, dal and rotis were th right combination to satisfy our hunger.<br/><br/>Worth a revisit...
Nireeksha Mohandas
Hungry afternoon took us to this place and we were very disappointed. Not happy with the food served. Ordered sulthani combo and chicken boneless biryani. Sulthani was tasteless and had to struggle finishing it. Chicken boneless biryani was the only saviour . Overall an OK experience.

Perhaps the most underrated place for Arabic cuisine in Bangalore.<br/>Right in the heart of Church Street, Ayda was the first place we hit when hunger pangs drove us crazy on our first day of the vacation.<br/><br/>Beautiful Persian inspired paintings and decor makes you feel at ease. The menu is accompanied with an album that features the photographs of all the dishes so if you are a newbie to the Arabic cuisine this will help you know What you are ordering. I quite liked the idea ☺ as I am not much aware of the Arabic and Persian cuisines. Hubby though is a die hard fan having been Brought up in the Gulf.<br/><br/>We took the staff's suggestion and tried the recommended dish of Zeresh Polo - Yum Yum Yummy! Very appealing to the eyes and the tongue.<br/><br/>We also ordered Joojeh Lohmei and Hummus with fries for the kiddos. The kebabs were very tasty and the hummus did remind me of few very famous restaurants back home in Hyderabad. French fries were the usual.<br/><br/>If you happen to be in Bangalore and on the lookout for good Persian food then do give this place a try.
Ratna Karatgi
Bad food, horrible service. Go to Sodabottleopenerwala instead. They charge you more there, but the food, service and ambience at SBOW are totally worth it. Skip Ayda.
Surjo Mitra
The gulaab jamun are too tiny to be called gulaab jamun. was very disappointed. they had overall great ambience, but the food can taste way better.
Afreen Khan
I had never ever tried Persian food. I never knew anything about it. Until I discovered this place on a hungry "Bangalore site seeing" day. <br/>I was super tired to hunt for subway and ended up here. Looking at the menu, I really liked the concept of having pictures along with the dishes. One could really understand what they are ordering. <br/>Kobideh Kebab are the ones to try. Delicious succulent Kebabs with pickled veggies and fragrant rice/roti side. <br/>It's so delicious that I ended up eating more than my capacity! Also, tried their Hummus, Chicken stew/curry with a lovely saffron flavored rice called Zershpulao. Very yummy. <br/><br/>If you like Mediterranean /Lebanese influences on your food , do visit this place. <br/><br/>Prices for the quantity served are reasonable and worth it.
Noopur Jain
As a vegetarian, I was hesitating a bit to exlore this option at Brigade road. Though the place is small and can hold around 5-6 groups at once, I liked the interior pretty much. The walls and the lighting give you a very earthy feeling. The falafel and Persian fried rice taste really good. Shirazi salad is a not-so-risky option to order. Don't forget to try the Persian tea.
Vimal Menon
Very very disappointed. Not for the food, which was decent from a Persian cuisine perspective. But the service was a nightmare.<br/><br/>Two of my friends and I happened to be there for lunch on Sunday afternoon. Arrived at around 230. At around 4 a waiter asks us to vacate the table as people are waiting. There was one lady who waiting. We agree to speed up, but we hadn't finished eating. <br/><br/>The guy goes up and mumbles abusively in Malayalam to his fellow waiter about us, thinking we would not understand the same. On confronting, the guy doesn't apologise and on the contrary, starts giving gyaan about he is running a business and can't afford to have people sitting at a table for two hours and abuses further. Mind you we ran a bill of 2k already. <br/><br/>The food might be nice but the guys DO NOT have a concept of customer service. It was as if he was doing a favour to us by offering food. Would never return to such a place despite having decent food.
Meryl Esparon
I love Persian food but Ayda didn't meet the mark for me. The décor is great- very cozy with middle eastern touches but I've tasted much better Persian food. Perhaps once you've tried the authentic, an imitation just doesn't impress as much. I ventured into the Indian side of the menu once and opted for a mutton biryani which I greatly enjoyed. Overall despite the fact that it boasts about it's "Persian" cuisine, I much prefer their Indian menu.
Aman Mishra
It was a pleasant surprise at Ayda. The restaurant is a quiet one and the portions were adequate. The Kobideh and Hasiri were fantastic and the Hummus had a fine taste thanks to the olives in it. The restaurant is worth a try if you want a shot at Persian food.
Sanaaz R Doust
Always been here for the Iranian food- a small place with good food. They are rather well priced though their service is pretty slow. They definitely could work on their staff and service considering they are on brigade road and have so many competitors
Noor S (noorinfoodistan.wordpress.com)
A small place serving n specialising Persian food.<br/>Why try the Indian or other items from the menu here instead of trying the Persian food?<br/><br/>Kobideh Kabab are the one to try. This is barbecued kababs accompanied with flavored rice n I guess a roti too. Do ensure to let them know if you like your meat to be well done. Else, it could b slightly rare. The pickled veggies provided alongside are very nice!<br/><br/>Ppl who don't like the influence of Mediterranean/Lebanese food, may not really like this. Otherwise, u can always try the Indian food!<br/><br/>Prices for the quantity served are reasonable.<br/>
Shazmeen Lawyer
The Persian food is excellent not sure about the Indian never tried it!! The cheap kebab koobideh and the bamiah with the roti are excellent. It's a must try place.

Ambience: 3.5/5<br/>Food: 4/5<br/>Mutton soups, dande kabab, ghormeh sabzi, pudina mutton, joojeh kababs are the must tries.. They dont hv mch sweet dishes or good desserts..<br/>Eat & Enjoy :)

Lunch visit.<br/>Prawn preparation disappointing.<br/>Mutton kebab good and bursting with flavors. Chicken exactly the opposite. Try at your own risk.

This place has sooo much potential but it's completely wasted. It's a great location, decent sized space and ambience and an idea of a cuisine. There's so much they could do with that. But well they choose not to. <br/>Also there is a verandas seating that overlooks starbucks and easy tiger. <br/>But the food is very average and the pricing super high. Just about average service as well. Also they don't serve pita bread. Go figure.
Selina Phurumboo
The drooling menu😻 I absolutely love the cuisines served by them 👌🏻 My favourite is Butter nan with some spicy Chicken gravy😋 and biryani. This is the exact spot when I'm extra hunger when I'm around MG road.

Introduced by a foodie freind of mine , can't wait to visit again. This place in true sense serves THE authentic Persian food And fine service. The koobideh kabab along with the aromatic rice is a super delight and a treat in itself. I be live this place kind of motivated me to try my hands on some of the Persian receipes. The curd that they serve is no where to be found. Trust me ! I mean it. Very casual ambience with typical Persian decor and easily to locate it out.
Irfan
This place is a bit difficult to find as it has only a narrow staircase leading to the restaurant on the 1st floor. They serve some authentic persian kebabs. Few people might find the kebabs to be a bit dry if eaten with rice.
Madhu Ramachandran
Cute restaurant with nice balcony overlooking Church street.  The lamb kebabs were made mostly out of egg and the fatty part of the lamb, which was really disappointing for rs400.
VJ
If you are looking something different to be tried why don't you try some Persian stuff. This was the thought which took me to Ayda. Never noticed this before while roaming thru church street. <br/><br/>Pros: Tried some variety of fish dishes which was really good. Pretty okie ambience. Staff will help you to identify good dishes and really helpful. <br/><br/>Cons: Ambience can be made bit more cosy.
Prithu Sengupta
Not a bad shelter to try something different for genuine kabab lovers. There are mix of kabab platters served with naan/ rice and its worth one time. This place also offers desi North Indian dishes but I must say it's not the place to order such. It portrays a persian architecture and is quite a serene place if not great. Cost is pocket friendly.
Charanjeet Singh Arora
Had food there ...ordered chicken kebab and Morton kebabs , along with steam rice and bread ...something was missing .. The kind of food was served was very bland ...I thing they forgot to serve some pungent Dips ...overall OK experience .

this is a real disappointment and quite unexpected but I am helpless to give such rating. I have no clue why this place has taken things for granted. as soon as you enter ambience has been tried to kept traditional but there is no liveliness. staff was bit too casual to make us comfortable and help ordering the food. We ordered kabab which was not at all fresh and stinky. post which we ordered veg fried rice and thought it could be our saviour, but we got egg fried rice without our awareness. but we managed with that but could not eat it, again stinky food and we had leave everything in between and go. apart from that place quiet costly for such food. the staff got bit too conscious and even we r helpless for that. hope to see some improvement on the basic ethics, could not judge the authenticity of food.

Went to this Arabic restaurant on Sunday. You will be in for a good surprise so read the full review. From outside a shabby roadside restaurant. . The inside is an average ambience every day restaurant. What pulled me is the way i was greeted into the restaurant. Did not want to dine thinking its the average restaurant but the way the staff took me through the Menu made me want to give the place a try. I was fresh back from Dubai so the taste of Aroos Damascus lingered in my mouth. Well I was not disappointed. The biggest draw back of other Arabic restaurants in Bangalore is that their Mutton Kababs had the taste that led to the animal but here they have covered the taste to perfection. I ordered the mixed platter along with soup and no Arabic dish is complete without the Hamoos. The mixed platter was on par its the closest to the authentic it can get in Bangalore and I am impressed. Did not go with the mutton soup which usually goes well with Arabic food but decided to go with Mushroom. This came with lemon as expected from an Arabic restaurant. The let down was Hamoos did not tasted like the usual. <br/>Crowd is mostly people from Arabic orgin which tells you that the taste is more closer to home. There is some space in the balcony area for those who prefer to sit outside watching the church street road. If you are a true foodie would recommend this place. Easy on the pocket worth the amt u spend Overall here is my rating out of 5<br/><br/>Ambiance-2.5/5<br/>Food - 4/5<br/>Service - 5/5<br/>Pricing- 4/5
Nadeem
Restaurant is on church street entrance from Brigade Road. Ambience of this place is good. Iv been regular to place. Mixed platter gives you option of tasting all kababs at one go. When you are ordering platter ask for zeresk rice instead of kubus. For first timers rice might be dull option as there is no curry option on Persian cuisine. The kababs are really lip smacking. You get option of chicken mutton and beef here.

I am confused about this place...... I mean, an excellent Persian menu, which really teases you with pictures of all the dishes and ingredients..... A warm little place, right at the start of the Church Street..... Conveniently located next to some decent pubs..... Yet, the food is short of the experience that Persian cuisine promises..... The lamb sheek kebab, tasted more of burnt egg in it, than the charred mutton taste, that a blissful charcoal cooking brings out..... Added to that, the place is not decently maintained..... You guys have been there for ages, and not yet an institution..... Pity, is my best sentiment at the moment

" I live on good food, not fine words" ~ Moliere <br/>--------------------------------------------------------------<br/>I just love to try cuisines from all over the world😀<br/>Tried Persian food this time and wow it was very good <br/>Ambience -we felt we were in Iran <br/>Service was warm<br/>_________________________________verdict-recommended 😀<br/>

On my last visit, decided to go to Ayda as we wanted to have something other than the usual spicy food available everywhere. Ayda has another outlet in Banashankari & this is my usual haunt. The one on church street is the one which I drop into, once in a year or so. This place was started by a family friend's brother-in-law who is from Iran. So the authenticity of the "Persian" cuisine need not be verified.<br/><br/>We started of with some fresh lime soda & lemon with mint cooler. Both the coolers were well prepared, but he mint one was a tad bit over "minty". Will give them 3.5/5.<br/><br/>The service was quick as there were hardly any customers around at 2:30 pm on a week day which was a little bit surprising for me. So within minutes of us ordering the mixed platter kebab starter, it was there on our table. The presentation was good & now we had to dig in & taste the different meats to find which was the best. The mutton & the "BFFFF" were succulent & juicy, but the chicken skewer was the one which I enjoyed the most. So will give 4/5 for this.<br/><br/>This was followed by Naan's with Ghormesh Sabzee which had chunks of mutton, vegetables and lentils in a green base which I think was more of palak & pepper base. The naans' made a perfect jugalbaandi with this mutton curry. Will give 4/5 for the naans & 3.5/5 for the Ghormesh Sabzee.<br/><br/>The grand finale was the Zereshk Polow with its healthy sprinkling of red barberries. The basmati rice was well steamed & was sweet to taste too. However it was quite healthy as it had almost no oil in it. The rice was meant to be had with some chicken curry. This chicken curry was more like what my mom cooks at home- without any chilly in it! The big chicken chunk floating in it had the most tender of meat in it & I enjoyed it very much. Will give 3.5/5 for the Zereshk Polow & 3.5/5 for the chicken curry too.<br/><br/>As for the ambiance will give it 3/5 as there's nothing spectacular about it. 4/5 for service as the waiter's were very helpful in guiding us about our food selection. VFM would be about 3.5/5 as this place is a bit costly.<br/><br/>My honest recommendation for foodies is stay away from this place if you like to eat spicy food. The food here is what my mom makes at home; no oil & no chilly in it. However if you are looking for some really healthy food, a visit to this place is a must.<br/><br/>Yes, I will be back to eat their stuff soon.---------------------------------On my last visit nearly a year ago, I had indulged in some Joojeh kebab,Kobideh kebab,Naan & Polo.

The ambience is the first thing that strikes your senses. A real treat for those who like persian retreats and Arabic music. There's a roof top street facing gallery as well. The seating is plush, with a cozy feel. The food was just amazingly yum and the mutton sheek kebabs - mind blowing. If you prefer eating a complete meal, you could go for the rice or nan with kebabs combo. The management is really sweet. It's a fun place to hang out with family, but beware - if you are veg, there are hardly any options for you, except 2 starters.

Being a persian ... And being far from my country , i do crave for persian cuisine once in a while... I wouldnt want to give bad rating for a restaurant... But need to write the truth and be fair while rating a restaurant. I tried soup jo which is made of barley ,chicken ,tomato puree ,parsely etc.it was very yummy as my starter .kabab koobideh(mince beef bbq, some type of sheekh) and jooje kabab (chicken bbq) were not great ...I finished both as i was feeling very hungry.. But i found them to be bland and tasteless ... .indians are used to having different spices added to their food so some of them would find persian cuisine little bland and tasteless ... But in fact if you have it at the right place you will surely like it and it wont be tasteless ... <br/>I was mostly unhappy and disappointed with kabab koobideh (sheekh kind of kabab made from minced beef) .. I couldnt even say what kind of meat it was made of ... 😕😕 and after 30-60 mins post my dinner there .. My stomach started to get painful which was because of the food ... Please do something ... This is not how ayda persian kitchen used to be ... The quality of food has gone down ... I have heard more complaints from other customers as well... This shouldnt happen again or you might face some big loss in your business .!

Awesome! The chicken tandoori was what i loved the most. Loved the persian food. And the ambience, music were much related. Location is good. Price, a bit high for regular dine but worth it.

Rating 4 because of the taste of the food and service. The man who served us had injured his right hand but served us effortlessly and with a smile despite it -- if I shouldn't be happy about that, I don't know what I should be happy about.<br/><br/>Either way, the food tastes like authentic persian, and there's a good variety to choose from. We got the Kobideh Kebab (regular), Mutton Soup and Baghali Polo Machiche. That last one is a platter of buttered rice with dill (herb), white beans, and a tomato-based mutton gravy -- the mutton in the gravy was succulent, melted in our mouths and the gravy went well with the rice. It isn't spicy at all, if that's what you're into, but it /is/ flavorful. The kebabs were juicy and tender. The soup was delicious and reminded my wife, who grew up in Saudi, of the soup she got there. Goes well with lime.<br/><br/>We also ordered a Black Tea and a Milk Tea, which both tasted great since they were made with Tetley tea bags. They also serve a Doog, which is a butter-milk based drink with mint and soda which we realized later that we should've ordered. If you're ever there and end up having it, let us know how it tastes. I might update this review if we end up doing that. :)<br/><br/>The atmosphere was Arab and everything, but the seats weren't too comfortable. I'm tall and my wife is short -- and we both had a hard time reaching our food while leaning back. Meh, not a big deal.<br/><br/>I expected a lot more quantity for the pricing; it barely filled us up. We came home and were hungry again. So bear this in mind, I guess.

I strongly suggest this place for some good "afghani Persian" food . I may be missing out on the exact cuisine but their Roghan Josh with Naan is top notch. Loved the dum biriyani and lamb starters. Do go!

How people can serve such disgusting food is beyond me.. Please dont ever go here. Tried their mutton kabab. Tasted like they made it out of leather .

I really have no idea how this place got a rating of 3.7 . Seriously, its a place that deserves a rating not more than 1. <br/>Quantity is very less, taste very bland and the service pathetic to say the least.<br/>We ordered a dal fry and it was the worst dal we ever had, not to mention stale.Rest of the dishes pretty below average. The waiter gave us looks when we returned the dal. Anyway it was the first and the last time we visited the place.

Delicious Persian food. Ayda has a very Arab atmosphere which I really love. It's located in a place where no one would actually think of going. It's located in Church street so it's easily accessible. The food gets prepared in no time and it's quite filling. Heard they opened a new branch. Can't wait to go there.

A small, cozy place with simple ambience and good Persian music. The cuisine itself felt a bit too sweet for my taste.( had zursh pulao and a kebab.) But for people looking to try multiple cusines, it is possible a must go.

As the name suggests it serves persian cuisines..Located on church street, ayda ambience reminded me of the show alif laila..The service is very good and they never make u feel u have landed at a strange place.. Joojeh kabab is a must try...

Ambient and ethnic interiors pleasing us as soon as we enter. The restaurant serves ample varieties from Persian as well as Indian cuisine. The flavors of the food we ordered were in a perfect balance. It was worth a wait, as the delivery time was a little longer than the usual. Also, there was someone playing lovely tunes on mandolin sort of an instrument what we thought as live music performance but sooner realized that he was a customer too. Happy that we landed at an amazing place to dine in.

Amazing little place with Persian food (and even music). Don't miss the kebabs! The taste as well as the presentation of the food is appealing and the location (Church Street) makes it a place which I am definitely visiting again.<br/>Edit : Visited again & had their Mutton Biriyani. The meat pieces was succulent and the rice was aromatic too. This place indeed has stood the test of time.

AYDA offers you good Persian food. It's a small restaurant with superb ambience... I liked the decor... Persian paintings.... <br/>I visited with my friend and we ordered...<br/>MIRZA GHASEMI... is a good appetiser... is mash BBQ AUBERGINE with mash boiled egg mixed with Persian spices serve with fresh spring of mint and cilantro... <br/>JOOJEH KAABAB.... are must try... meats are mildly flavoured with Saffron and Persian spices... kabas coated with clarified butter... serve with fresh salad... <br/>ZERESHK RICE... is Saffron flavour rice with Persian berries.... <br/>All the dishes were good and flavourful. <br/>Service need to be improve.

I wish they had more vegetarian options (Persian food is not made up exclusively of kebabs, you know!), and that their prices were a bit lower. On the other hand, I thought the food was well prepared and that the service was adequate.

A small little restaurant opposite the Starbucks on the church Street entrance from brigade road side. The only thing I didn't like about this restaurant is the stairs you need to take to reach it.<br/>I saw some good reviews in zomato about this and thought that I would give it a try. I must say I am really happy that I did. Sofa like seats are so comfortable I felt like sleeping in them. They have 7 tables inside and some outside. I think at a time they can accommodate around 30 people. So better book your table and go.<br/>The food was awesome. May not be for everyone though. If you like the subtle tastes of middle eastern cusine then you won't be disappointed. The portions were enough for two people easily. The service staff is very knowledgeable and the dishes are ready in minutes. May be they are in a hurry to clear us out as we two were occupying a table for four ( which is the smallest setting available ). The prices are justified by the portions and the service.<br/>Another curious thing is they have an album with pictures of all the dishes which I think every restaurant should adopt. Overall a great experience.

Tried out this place with 3 of my foodie friends all being meat lovers. We wanted to order a mixed kebab platter and we found that the menu had two kebab platter, the staff then explained to us that one was a Persian kebab platter while the other one was an Indian kebab platter. We went with the persian one and were not disappointed. The meat was really succulent and mildly spiced. One thing to remember about Persian cooking is that they are into dry fruits and mild spices not the heavy Indian types. So if you are expecting a Galawti kebab, then Persian cuisine is not for you. The staff were quite friendly and the pace of service was good too. The ambience could have been worked upon a bit more. Dessert lovers will be seriously heart broken<br/><br/>Overall, value for money.

Ayda is the smaller brother of Sufi which is Koramangala. Although the menus are similar the price varies for both the places. Ayda is easier on the pocket but Sufi takes the cake when it comes to taste and portions - hands down.<br/><br/>I've been to Ayda twice, for a quick lunch from office. Service is very prompt - probably because there were very few patrons in when we went in.<br/><br/>The dishes we tried here were - Joojeh Kebabs, Kobideh Neginder from the persian menu. My partners in crime wanted a gravy dish to go with the naan and kebabs so we also ordered the paneer butter masala, which was not quite upto the mark.<br/><br/>Overall Ayda gives you a good option if you need an introduction to Persian food and are on a budget. It is a small restaurant with not much of an ambience.

It was my first day in bangalore and i HAD TO try out the food in the city. So in the scorching sun, my friend and I went hopping to brigade and on her suggestion, entered this place. It was empty except for one table. It was too hot and so we sat inside. AC was badly needed. The biggest dissapointment was the behaviour of the waiter. I dont know if its a calcutta thing only or not, but here in calcutta we get wifi connections almost everywhere in most cafes and restaurants. I asked the wifi password of ayda because i thought its for the customers. They could politely say its not for us. The waiter not only didnt reply to my question, he went on to tell the incident to the other staff and make a joke out of it. Honestly, had i not been in the middle of my food, i would have left the place right there. It was the most disgraceful act of someone from a reputed chain of restaurants. Now coming to the food, upon seeing the menu, i was at sea. I had no idea of persian cuisine and everything looked delectable. After a lot of thinking, we settled for persian biriyani. I wanted to try one of their jumbo kebabs later. Persian food is not at all spicy and i loved this fact. We took one mutton biriyani and one chicken biriyani combo. The combo has a lassi and some chicken kebab to it. We got complimentary raita. I liked the food. Like really really liked. Both the biriyanis tasted alike. When it comes to biriyani, nothing compared to kolkata but even then that was good enough. A little sweet though! The chicken in the biriyani was soft and easy to bite into. The kebabs were a disaster. Too stiff. Too chewy! The lassi was fine. I wanna try out the persian jumbo kebabs in my next visit. Hopefully those will be easier to have. The bill came to something around 650rs. We were full to the mouth. Overall a nice place. Recommended! Just the staff needs to learn to mind their customers better. Cheerie!
