Review Hotel Annapoorna Restaurant - Bengaluru

Srikanth RV
Good Andhra Restaurant around Gandhinagar - Majestic area. It is known for its Andhra meals majorly, however we tried Mutton Biryani and Andhra Style Chilli Chicken along with Andhra meals. They were delicious. Andhra meals -4.5/5, Mutton Biryani-3.5/5, Andhra Chilli Chicken- 4.5/5. The service is good and quick. On most of the days you might have to wait to get the seat here.
Monisha Boya
Had ordered Chicken Biryani, Mutton Biryani and chilli chicken. All the dishes were amazing! One of best Biriyanis i had in Bangalore. The seating is simple, They have limited items but its worth the money. Waiter mentioned it's 40years old hotel.

Been on my list for a few months and finally got around to visit this place for lunch today. Being a weekday, it was packed and you have to find a place to sit by yourself. Sharing a table with others is a common practice here. My friends took South Indian meals with chilli chicken and I had mutton biryani. Each dish was well prepared and we didn't feel bloated after the meal. If you are okay to manage crowds, this place is definitely worth a visit.

A clean and quiet hotel of the old style. Their Biriyani is awesome. Chicken 65 is juicy and tasty. Service is quick and overall a good food experience!

Here, the andhra meals are awesome . 150/- for full meals. And they will serve food on banana leaf. Parking available. Non veg starters are little overpriced. Chicken Biryani was amazing and worth for that price. (₹170) They will serve fish gravy for chicken which is a good combination. Items are hot and spicy.

Hotel Annapoorna in Gandhi Nagar, Bengaluru is a authentic Andhra style restaurant that serves food on the banana leaf. Good and tasty South Indian dishes are available at a reasonable rate.

Awesome Andhra meals with traditional style. Non vegetarian items are too tasty. It is a very old restaurant in these area. Prices are little upper side(non veg items quantity is less).
sujaykumar ramappa
It's one of the oldest Andra style restaurant in Gandhinagar, There chicken palov/biriyani is spicy and the spicy flavour remains in your throat for some time. Chicken chilly is definitely a must try here, it will make every opening in the body to breathe. Didt like the chicken 64,it's more like kabab nothing special about it You acn surely visit with family, parking is available on Road for both 2 and 4 wheelers.

The best hotel in Coimbatore and it's almost pride of coimbatore i can say. They have almost more than 15 branches in Coimbatore itself. Their quality of food, preparation and staff courtesy everything is awesome. People here are almost attached to this brand emotionally.. coffee is ultimate. Prices are also quite reasonable. Whenever i visit coimbatore i never miss to visit this hotel.. even they have one branch in kovai airport.. this hotel is maintained by a family of almost three generations.

It has been in my bucket list for long time so wanted to try it finally. Orderd mutton Biryani and prawn fry.. mutton Biryani was authentic Andhra style tasted so good..mutton pieces were soft and prawn fry was super awesome and become my favourite was very spice and was made same way how I like it

Complete Andhra style food in heart of the city, that's an advantage. Well maintained. Do not expect too much on it. If you are hungry, then would like to fill with Andra style meal just walk in. Don't plan with family/kids.. It's like a mess.
RAYSITI Online
Chicken / Mutton Biryani here is as spicy and tasty as an Andhra cuisine lover would expect. Veg meals was sumptuous but the no of sides were less. Guntur chicken could easily make the less adventurous eyes to water. The quantity of the prawns though was a total switch off, less than a handful for a whopping 230Rs. Service was good. Ambience was that of a classic hotel which has aged gracefully over the years filled with people who not just love the food there, but would also vouch for it anyday. All in all, 4 people, a 1000 bucks, Paisa vasool.

It was a pleasant experience today, ordered mutton Biryani ,taste as usual good, they served two big bony pieces of mutton , but owner who was roaming around saw this whispered something with the supplier and he immediately got me big piece of boneless mutton ,
Kartik Kamath
The chicken biryani is absolutely delicious! And the gravy that comes with it is also really tasty! Biryani lovers must have from here.

Hotel Annapoorna Is One Of The Gem Of Gandhinagar Area. Was Ordered The "Chicken 64" Which Is Invented By This Place. When I Heard About This Dish Was Thinks It Will Be A Chinese Dish But When I Seen It And Eat It I Simply Get Surprised With The Taste Of The Dish Wow !! So Basically It's A Boneless Small Chicken Pieces Which Is Well Marinated In Some Karnatakas Local Masala And Fried Very Well. And Really It's Too Tasty To Eat. Also They Have Some Varieties In Birtanis Also So Do Visit This Place When You Are Near By Majestic Or Gandhinagar It's Worth It.

When I am upset.. demotivated.. or bored, I head straight to this place.. Their mutton biriyani and guntur chicken does the magic... And I am fully energized by them... don't u believe me? Why don't u give a try!

Found a cockroach in the mutton biriyani.
My friends and I used to frequently visit this place

The ambience is OK nothing great, but it gets too crowded during the peak lunch hours. To avoid this, one has to be really early and catch hold of their tables.

The quantity is good and everything on the menu is reasonably priced. The menu isn't vast but there are few options available.

They specialize in Andhra cuisine and the main course is served on banana leaf
.

I’d generally go for the thali or their Mutton Biryani, as that’s what they specialize in and are good at.

The thali consists of the papad, dal, rasam, sambhar, 2 kinds of subzi, fresh curd and a glass of butter milk.
( Not to forget the ghee )

You could also have chutney pudi (garlic and groundnut based) and the Gongura chutney which is placed on the tables.

Their Mutton Biryani is really delicious, mutton pieces were tender and flavorful. The biryani is served with raita and a bowl of curry.

The starters, fish fry, chicken 65, spicy chilly chicken, etc.. are perfectly cooked with right spices.

The service is quick and prompt. You may not get to spend too much time and relaxingly enjoy your food, specially during the peak hours as it gets terrible crowded.

Parking can be a problem especially for cars...
Neha Nagpal
Some really delicious Chicken Biryani and Chicken 64 is what you'll find at this restaurant. Yes, you read that correctly, it's Chicken 64 which also happens to be the only boneless starter on the menu.

I can't comment on the ambience, but I'd recommend to be seated in the family section. Otherwise opt for a takeaway. If you're expecting a fancy schmancy ambience, you'll be highly disappointed. Ultimately, food is the most important thing... Isn't?

The quantity is good and everything on the menu is reasonably priced. The menu isn't vast and there are few options available.

It's actually one of the most underhyped Biryani places in Bangalore. I do feel it deserves more recognition and appreciation for it's delectable food and prompt service.
Sudeendra
I heard about this place from a family member who was previously into film distribution, this is a well known and old restaurant in the Gandhinagar area, word on the street is that food for most Kannada movie celebrities and shooting sets is packed and sent from here.
So, recently he took me to this place, this has an old fashioned and retro ambience, I even learnt that some of the waiters have been working here since many years.

The food is served on plantain leaf, the price is very reasonable and the food scores high on taste. We tried Chicken and Mutton biriyani, Chicken and Mutton fry, prawn masala, Rice, sambhar and rasam. I was blown away with the taste of biriyani, this felt so light that I could have eaten 2 plates myself. The fry was spicy and I loved it's flavor, the gravy went very well with the biriyani.

Looking forward to visiting this place more often, I would certainly recommend this place if you are a hardcore foodie and fan of classic biriyani.
Puja Deb
Awesome place for biryani & andhra food. Always crowded in peak hours. Loved the mutton biryani & chicken 64. Bit disappointed because their popular item, prawn fry got over. Service is super quick and reasonanly priced place. A nice place to eat near Majestic.
Shashwat Narain
This place is located in Gandhi Nagar of the Majestic area. You can get off at Majestic and walk on the the roads towards the restaurant, which is more convenient.
I ordered chicken biryani which was really delicious, chicken pieces were tender and flavourful. The biryani was served with raita and a curry bowl on the banana leaf. The service was really quick, though the ambience was a bit average. But what else could we asked for from a restaurant, good food right?
Meghana Rajeshwar
This place is one of those hidden food treasures in the Majestic area. Businesslike and efficient, the focus here is on the food, which is served on banana leaves in the tradition of Andhra restaurants . In my opinion, this ups the taste by a factor of 10 :)
Exceptional - Chicken Biriyani. Spicy, moist and perfectly infused with the masala. Would go back for this.
Great - Chicken Fry. FYI - in an Andhra restaurant, this is not a deep fried chicken, but a spicy, semi-gravy dish made of chicken odds and ends( not liver and other spare parts)
Blah - Chicken Kabab. Clearly not the dish they will be remembered for.
Prashant Parab
Most Pocket friendly joint I have visited in Bangalore. I must say must go restaurant for real spicy food with meal. Good quality, good staff and simple menu list.

Must try chilly chicken and chicken fry. Real spice bomb.

If you don't like spicy finger licking food then please stay away from non veg just enjoy veg meal which is also a good deal.
Harsha Valaturu
The best mutton kheema you can get. The food is really good and value for money. Don’t go there if you are looking for ambience. It’s a place for food lovers. Must tries are mutton kheema, chicken 64, prawn gravy and meals.
Usha Bharath
Very mildly spiced and flavourful mutton biryani is served here, I wanted to be safe and chose the most preferred dishes here. I went with mutton biryani, chicken 64 and 65 and then chicken roast. Everything was good except the roast. It was pretty average. Would definitely order again.
Channabasavaraj B
This place is an andhra restaurant. It has one of the best classic andhra style biriyani in town. There are other tasty dishes too, I’d recommend the chicken 65 which goes well for a starter. People usually enjoy the meals as it has varieties and there’s unlimited rice. The ambience is alright, but the taste is definitely worth going for.
SriLekha Kola
Wonderful place to go with delicious food. Very tasty food, especially South Indian meals they make lick your fingers as well. So yummy and Service is also at it's best. I really suggest this restaurant and this is my first favorite hotel in Bangalore.
Pradeep P
This is a quintessential Andhra cuisine restaurant in the Gandhinagar area. Service is quick and don't mind sharing tables with strangers. The food is perfectly spiced and taste is consistent. The mutton and chicken Biryani are made of the small rice and tastes great with or without the raitha. The chicken 64 is the boneless version of chicken 65. The meals and everything else on the menu is good. If you're craving for Andhra cuisine and in the neighborhood, you have to try this.
Sumanth Kumar
One Of the best chicken Biryani in Bangalore .Their Chicken 64 & Prawns fry is Ultimate. Even Pricing also Very Reasonable. Please don't miss their Rasam.
Prashanth Kumar
This Restaurant has been an preferred one for Andhra Meals.

I have been very regular to this place, when ever my taste buds craves to try good tasty Non - Veg Andhra Meals. You shall surely get an authentic and relishing feel of Andhra dishes here.

Recommend this place for anyone who craves for Andhra style Non Veg Food.

Rated 4, considering only the ambiance factor. which slightly lacks here.

Keep it up Guys..
Preethi Dilip Kaparthi
The best Andhra food in blore since decades ... before nandini nd nagarjuna their meals are lip smacking pappu , vepudu, rasam nd rice 😋 and chicken starters nd biriyani are best... not even once we would ever get disappointed... we keep visiting it's never changed
MVR
Biriyani is a hit, the place is known for its spicy non veg dishes, Andhra style food , meals , the place is packed during lunch hours. Service is good.
Munna Ananth
After seeing so many good reviews and the 4.2 ratings. I had been to this place last night for dinner. I Ordered Chicken Biryani and Chilli Chicken... it’s was full salty and the quantity which they gave for chilli chicken is not at all worthy and taste was not at all good for biryani and chilli chicken.. worst biryani I had in my life...
Spoorthy Mysore (spoorthy.mysorekrishna@gmail.com)
A andhra style resturant in Gandhinagar. Been there several times. Very homely food. I go there just for veg meals. Soda free.. Soft rice hot ghee... nice pepper rasam and onion tomato Sambhar. Mixed green leaf pappu is also nice. Subzi is ok. Service is quick and very good. Staff is always happy and excited to feed others and with smile.

Missing home made lunch. Give a try here.
Pricing is very affordable.

There are 2 Annapoorna’s you have to visit in Majestic. One is the Annapoorni Grand which is a slightly grander place but is famous for the simple ragi mudde and mutton kurma and this one which looks more like a basement mess (there is a better ambience place inside the hotel as well as I understand but I went to the basement). This Annapoorna is an Andhra style restaurant and is best you try the biryanis and meals here. I had the mutton biryani and the chicken gongura on recommendation paired with a thums up. Since this road on which this hotel is situated is getting concretized, there was a lesser crowd than I expected. The relaxed environment let me enjoy the food – the mutton biryani was good, the chicken gongura was good too, the taste of everything was on point. Even the steaming hot rasam they provide you to wash down the food is tasty. So is the chutney that comes with the meals. Courteous service.

Rejuvenate your taste buds with Andra style biryani , excellent non veg dishes and tasty meals too .Very busy restaurant ,Parcel also available.

Good food with lots of spice ideal for any Maharashtrian. Good portion meals served well. Thanks for a good experience. The ambiencence could be improved. Original Naati chicken is available here.

Good food, good service...a typical andra restaurant where u can have authentic andra food, especially meals...the place is well maintained and hygienic...

This place is Home to me! I’ve been going here with my dada ever since I remember and he has been going there for 35yrs now and he swears the taste hasn’t changed even a tad bit in all of those years!! This place signifies tradition to me, it’s family, all the staff there recognise me and everybody else from my extended family too because we have all been going there for ages now.

The food is divine! Homely and wholesome, very reasonably priced and probably the best biriyani in town and yet hidden away. I’d recommend their prawn fry, chicken 65 and 64 anyday.

Don’t go expecting anything fancy because this is a very simple Andhra mess, but I’m sure the food will make up for it!
Chethan.rajaram
One of the best Andhra style Biriyani is what this place is famous for. Been visiting this hotel since many many years and never have been dissatisfied about the taste of their food. Prawns fry is another favourite. Decent seating setup and amazing food. Tasty Andhra meals too!! Do try this place atleast once if u still haven’t!
Kumar Anshul
Hands down the best place in Bangalore for Andhra Non Veg Food. Their Mutton Biriyani, Chilly Chicken & Prawn Fry are to die for. Their prawns really taste fresh, which is surprising because Bangalore is a landlocked city. Not to miss, the service is super quick- you get your food within 5 min of ordering. The price is definitely on the higher side for a place with no ambience but you won't feel the pinch as the food makes up for the high price.
Lavanya
Perhaps the best pick for biryani in this majestic area. The place is located in the road next to MTR which is 6th cross, gandhinagar. Park your cars in the road corners where it is safe and for two wheelers you can get parking in front of the hotel itself. This place is crowded in lunch time and we got our table in just 5 minutes.
It's a andra style food hotel. And I ordered for mutton biryani and chicken 64. Yes you saw it right, chicken 64 only. Chicken 64 is a boneless crispy chicken strips which is just perfect that gives you a kick like chicken kebab itself.
The biryani was a dum cooked andra style biryani which was delicious with excellent mutton pieces in it as well.
I thoroughly enjoyed the meal. On the other end my friend had a veg andra style meal and it was damn delicious itseems. Even i'll try it next time for sure.
Service - 4/5
Ambience - 3.5 /5
Taste - 4/5
Pramukh Natesh
An age old Andra Style resturant which has stood the test of time, the quarter chicken biryani and lemon chicken are to die for.

Fish fry/anjal fry is excellent and tasty
Yogesh K
Gem of a place in old Bangalore. the place seems untouched by the times. it's got a limited menu but everything on it is a blockbuster. the biryani and chicken 65 is the one of the best I've had. service is fast and very friendly service staff. it's totally value for money. must must try.
The Bangalore Food Harem
Having been regulars at Annapoorna (a 25 year old restaurant serving quality Andhra food), we swear by their perfectly spiced and authentic Nellore-style biryani. The highlights of our meal are usually the Pappu and Rasam served w/ the meals and more importantly, the Bendakaya Pachadi (lady's finger chutney) served on every table, which can be eaten with both the biryani and the meals. Amongst the sides, we recommend the mutton kheema and the chicken 65, which are simply off the charts!
Mani Murugan
One of the best biriyani i have had in bangalore, the biriyani here tastes nothing like what we get in other places in Bangalore.
Their menu is limited, but everything i tasted was too good and had a distinct flavor.
Amit Dev
Another Andhra gem not really noticed by those outside the Gandhinagar, majestic area. Their chilly chicken, mutton fry and Kheema are to die for. They serve an awesome biryani as well but I've personally had one or two off days with their biryani, that's about the only flaw I have found in my 20 odd visits here. Do try this place if you want to stay Andhra but want a change from Nagarjuna
Sundeep Khanna
The best Andra Biryani in town.i have been going to this place since 25 years the taste and quality never drops.the food is clean hygienic and really tasty that I always tend to over eat.
Amit Bathija
I was pretty excited after reading all the positive reviews but I was let down by the food. Chicken biryani priced at 140 with 2 pieces. The donne biryani's are any day better.

The South Indian meals was looking good. There was more of the tourist crowd rather than the local crowd.
Prasad Pawar
I ate chicken briyani. I like it. The taste was good. Do visit here.
Service was good.
I visited in evening nearby 8pm. Crowded with hungry foodies customers.
🐔🐔🐔
Swapna
An old fashioned Andhra restaurant located in the heart of the city. Head to this restaurant for a spicy hot Andhra meal. The quantity and variety ( especially in veggies) are good. The copious amounts of ghee and pappu powder is the best way to start your meal. Don't forget to order a chilly chicken that's rightly cooked making it a juicy and succulent combo to the thali.

The meal consists of vegetables loaded Sambar, tangy rasam ( that's best drunk than mixed with rice), set curd, butter milk to go with rice and separate glass to drink, minimum of two palyas/veggies, papad and pappu. Apart from this, you can try pappu powder, chilly pickle, gongura chutney for sides.
The generous servings of almost everything in menu is a delightful treat.

The ambience is old style, with rows of wooden tables and high back cushion chairs. The restaurant also boasts of a small waiting room.

Make sure you get in before 1.30 pm for lunch to avoid waiting!!
Chethan B R
One of the oldest hotel in Bangalore. Good desi food taste, style and recipe. Biriyani is awesome here. Can visit this place if u r looking for something new to your taste buds. Bon Appetite..
Krupa Gowda
Authentic Andhra meals and Andhra style chicken biryani is very tasty. Chicken fry was spicy and must try. Worth for the money !! Only draw back they dint accept card.
Akshay
Would rate their meals as the best Andhra meal in Bangalore, better than Nagarjuna. The pappu is spicy, tangy and always hot. Hot rice with onion chutney is simply yummy. For a 100 bucks, this place is worth the travel and wait !
Keerthan Mk
Biriyani is amazing , place is very crowded but worth a wait , rosted chicken was also very tasty.
Kabab is also good . But biriyani is must try
Ajay Kumar
Excellent Biryani ! Been there from a long time.. . Typical Nati style.. Even non-veg meals is good here. Among starters Chicken Fry & Chicken 65 is amazing. If you are around majestic area with family, head to this place
Nihal Yn
What this guy does is stuff of legends....
Non-Veg food at its very best.
I have been to this place so many times, and not once have I had a bad meal.
Saurabh Vijay
Lovely food, specially non vegetarian. Quick and professional service. Worth your money. Been there some time back. Had ordered meals, nati chicken fry, chicken masala.
Vivek
By far one of the best Andhra biryani and a very unique chilly chicken they serve here, their Andhra meals are also quiet tasty !! Definitely worth a try - parking can be a menace but the food makes up for it !!
Rohit
Whenever I reach Majestic at a time of around 12 30 to 1,I make it a point to reach this legendary enterprise. There's something so inviting about a gigantic hall filled with tables mounted with Banana leaves. Then, I seat my self onto one of those chairs and order my regulars, a meal or a Chicken Biryani Andhra style coupled with Chicken 65,64 or Chilli

Then for the next half an hour I take a ride in the spicy, savory magical land that is Andhra cuisine while asking the waiter to hit me with more rice every single time. The gunpowder explodes with flavor and the biryani literally has chunks of chicken in it. 64,65,Chilli all make sure that you're grinning from ear to earth with the happiness that you can only have after experiencing culinary greatness

The place though basic is exceptionally neat and clean and the service is perfunctory. But this is a place where food takes precedence over all else.

This place hands down beats all the Nagarjuna's, Nandini's and Nandana's. Do visit on a hungry stomach and feast like there's no tomorrow.
Fatboyslim
One of the earliest Andhra food joint of old bangalore ..The beauty of this place is that it has still managed to hold the high bar for quality Andhra meals and chicken / mutton biryani ... Nothing much has changed in terms of ambience and furniture but it's still neat and clean ..Over all an awesome place for andhra meals ...Cheers
Brijoe Thomas
All you need to know is this.. Grab a seat.. Order a plate of Chicken Biriyani, a plate of Chicken 65 and a plate of Chicken 64. And trust me, your taste buds and your tummy will absolutely love you!! An ol' school ambience and dishes served in banana leafs, no one should pass by this place without trying it. Wanna get high? Then trust me.. Go visit Hotel Annapoorna now and get yourself some Chicken Biriyani. You will not be disappointed!
Anuj A
Saar. Saar?
One meals Saar. Then one chilly chicken you should put off. The dal and Pappu is frikkin amazing, the rice is filled with ghee if you wish, and the chilly chicken is one of my personal favourites.

There is a lot this place does well. Quick service, unlimited thali, this killer killer rasam and a feeling that not much has changed in decades.

One of those old places that gives you a simple menu, and some good food.

Oh and if you want to go for the biryani, I would recommend mutton over chicken.
Fire Hunter
A very good place yesterday I had been there the biriyani could have been better ( I felt it had too much of gee or something ) rest all the items were good the meals was very good and service was very fast . A good place to go once in a while !!!
Sachin Pawar
The ambience is bit on lower side, apart from this rest all are bang on target. The taste, quantity, quality service and Value for money. Chicken kebab was lip smacking to say the least. Biryani was different and very tasty, my friends had ordered standard veg meal and I didn't see any disappointed faces. All together a must visit to spice lovers.
Kritya Nand Jha
Authentic andhra style restaurant. I was craving for andhra meals for a long time. Visited this place for lunch. Delicious meals. Must visit if you andhra meals lover. Also saw many people ordering biryani.

Value for money-4.5/5
Quality of food-4/5
Ambience-4/5

I love this restaurant,Mutton biryani is very good taste,Veg meals also very good taste,Food in this restaurant is 100℅ Rayalaseem style. It is value for money,I think they don't have branches in Bangalore,I am requesting the hotel management to open new branch near Whitefield, because many of people are come to Annapurna Hotel from Whitefield.
Queenie Singh
An amazing place for family...we've never hesitated to travel to this place for their Great Biryani, when I taste buds tingle for Andhra cuisine ..been visiting this place since 1999 (17years)!
Pradeep Kustagi
My old man's old love for the biriyani started out here and he has been blabbing about this place for a couple of decades now. It's an old favourite for the family and the entire menu is finger licking good.
Rohan
Amazing flavourful biryani... Amazing boneless chicken sides... South Indian meals, way too tasty..... Must try Biryan for spicy andhra style lovers...
Aishwarya Sontakke
Well coming to Bangalore and not eating with your hand is a sin but this place made me do that with their amazing andhar style food.i had chicken briyani and veg thali for continuous three days.I was happy and joyful because not one single day I felt the food taste or the way it is serve is boring everytime the chef has impressed with the food flavors.I feel who so ever comes to this city should visit this place just to try the food.

This place is in Gandhinagar . Known for its biriyani , this place is truly a delight to your mouth . A small place , value for money but only thing is that it will be difficult to get parking in case you come by car . Try the biriyani , you won't complain !!!
Santosh Mavely
If you are in the majestic area and looking for a great biryani or South Indian meals then look no further !
This place has maintained its quality for years - borne out by the crowds at peak lunch time.

If a romantic date or a business meet is on your mind, then Annapoorna is not the place to go to. But if you are ready to ignore the market-like atmosphere, the food makes a visit worth the while.

The bearers are extremely efficient and constantly keep and eye on your table so that there is no lag in the service. However, for some reason they never give you the menu card and expect you to know what is being served.

For the uninitiated, Annapoorna serves authentic Andhra food. The menu is limited and I would strongly recommend the Andhra meal, mutton and chicken biryani, chilly chicken and mutton fry. The food more than makes up for the ambience.

The place is always packed and the ideal time to visit is before 1 pm.

Food: 4/5
Ambience: 3/5
Service: 4/5

I have been going to this place since my childhood that is like 22 years and nothing has changed here. Be it the food, ambiance, people who serve food here all are same and AMAZING is the word to describe.A perfect Andhra style restuarant.

Located on a very silent part of Majestic but yet always crowded at lunch time.

I just love the chicken biryani, chilli chicken, fish fry and prawns offered here. And for the mutton lovers-mutton biryani is also good.

If you want just meal for vegetarians yes they do offer meals and pappu with white rice is lip smacking.

I would like to rate the restaurant as 4.5 for food, service and economy. And 3 for ambiance.

But non vegetarians will really enjoy the Andhra style food here. Do visit the place!

Typical authentic andhra meals and biryani are to die for. Always crowded any day of the week. I love their chilli chicken and fish Fry. Chicken biryani is amazing too. Worth every penny spent. Make sure I visit at least once a fortnight. Would give a 4.5 on 5.

Every time I fly down to Bangalore a lunch in Annapoorna is on top of my list. Their biriyani and meals are just amazing. A must try would be their biriyani and the special chicken dish for the day. The best time to visit would be around 12:30 - 1 PM to avoid the rush.

This place is known for its biryani and meals. It gets really crowded at lunch time so be sure to reach a bit early. Order the biryani with some dry chicke.

Known for legendary Andhra food especially sweet aromatic chicken biryani and chicken fry. Very affordable price, the staff too were quite hospitable. If you're in majestic you must check in here. It is heavily crowded too but depsite that the orders are quickly served, thanks to the efficiency of waiters. Ambience cannot be peaceful though.

Move over Nagarjuna, Nandhinis and all the the newer fancier Andhra places. This is best tasting food joint for Andhra non veg food in bengaluru. You can literally eat your way through entire menu as food is really damn good. Service and hygiene is impeccable. Must visit in the city

The the best place to try out chicken chilli and chicken Briyani. Food served on banana leaf with chicken chilli being dead spicy, tasty, mouth watering , unforgettable taste etc etc. Must try out place by non-veggies.

I finally found the time & developed the patience to go to this legendary place after years. I landed up there on a Saturday afternoon with a friend in tow & was surprised to see that it was empty. Reason was I had landed up there at 11:15 am itself. I always turn up early for meals, I guess. They have quite a few delicious food items on their menu. But since people vouch for the Andhra style meal, I went for that. My friend ordered a chicken biryani. For starters we decided to go for the "Fish fry", which at just 130/- per slice is a real bargain. The service was really fast & I had my fish as well as my meal on my table in no time at all. The seer fish fry, was the item of the day for me & it was just perfect as it was neither too oily or too soggy. It was "crisped" to perfection. As I relished this medium slice fish, I wondered as to why I never bothered to come here earlier even though I used to be a regular at the Kamat joint nearby for their jolada roti, etc. The fish can have a 4.5* from me.The Andhra was just fabulous & I ended up literally clearing everything off my banana leaf. The curries (I forgot the names, but who cares when you have good food in your mouth?), the vegetables, the pickles, the rice, etc were all gone in less than 10 minutes. Though I found the food to be a spicy for my liking, the taste was really unbelievable. Some I am doling out a 4* for this, they could have got 0.5* more if they served some desserts too. My friend said that the biryani too was fabulous with it's zeera rice & generous chunks of chicken marinated to perfection in it. The quantity of that too was pretty big for her & she ended up bagging the rest if it. So according to her, this too gets a 4*.The efficient staff deserve a 4.5* for their service. The ambiance which reminds one of the restaurants of the 80's gets a 3* from me. As for value for money, I guess we have to give it a 4.5* as our bill came to just 560/-.Yes, I will go back to try the other items on their menu very soon.

Over crowded place in the noon.
Famous for the Andhra style food.
The chicken starters are good. A little less (very) in quantity. Try the Andhra style meals, with the starters. The mutton is good too.

One of the top Biryani places in Bangalore The chicken Biryani was really good and it has a very clean and retro feel. Do try the chilly chicken also, very tasty.

Craving for some good old andhra food? Them chili chicken and chicken fry. Those larger than life andhra meals. The aroma of chicken biryani? But your pocket has less money? Well, say hello to this decades old hotel :) been visiting this place since childhood. The taste remains the same. The building stands tall. The waiters are the same but with grey hair ! Price has increased by a few rupees. But, they make legendary biryanis. If you're in majestic, check this place out. But, it's ALWAYS overcrowded. Don't expect a peaceful and cozy ambience :)

One of the oldest Andhra Style restaurants in Bangalore. My last visit here is almost 5 years before with Hard Core Non Vegetarian friend. He wanted to eat Biryani over here and they have a valued patrons for Biryani. For vegetarians there is Andhra Style Thali which is upright compare to popular restaurants. Place doesn't have great decor but neatly maintained!
Service might be bit late at times but worth it. It's a pocket friendly restaurant with decent pricing.
Overall:
Taste: 3.5/5
Ambiance: 3.5/5
Service: 3.25
VFM: 4/5

For my office colleagues I am a bad company because I always find some faults in the preparation or the service by some or other means. The same happened when I visited this place the first time , I found it as a boring comparison for other andhra food serving restaurants (being stayed in hyderabad ). But seriously guys this place grows into you.

I always order mutton biryani which I find rightly spiced and softness of mutton is to die for. This biryani is not exactly andhra or hyderabadi biryani but what ever.. the test it has is really really good. After making this opinion now my office people are in mood to say "told you!!". Please try their boneless mutton fry (for some including me its bit powdery dry gravy) but test is good. don't miss to try chilly chicken (lip smacking goodness).

According my veg friends who has dined their its good as well.

This place always gives run for money to all so called Andhra food joints (Nandini, nadhana and all the so called places...)

PS: Don't miss the today special board before you enter ..

a must try..

Food: 8 or 9 /10
service : 8/10
cleanliness : 8/10
