Review Jalsa - Bengaluru

We had been here for lunch. Must say it is a very cozy and comfortable place. The set up looks so royal. And very calm and peaceful place. Not very crowded. We went on for an Alacarte while they do serve buffet on the weekends, but since they had no option for non-beg buffet we opted Alacarte.The food tasted so good. And I had a dessert here which was something I tried for the first time also something that is not very available everywhere so I recommended anyone visiting this place to try their milk based desserts. We ordered Biryani here and the taste was very vague so we asked them to take back the biryani order and thats why I take off a star. Then talking about the budget, it is pocket friendly costing about 1500 INR for two.

Went for a corporate lunch and chose Veg Buffet option.. it lived upto the expectation. Nice and helpful staff. Ambience is average and varieties are just ok.. starters are amazing.. At Jalsa Banashankari, ambience was good. When we went as a group, place was much fit for us. Service was really good, staff is very friendly and apt. Food was good but a but costly compared to the quantity served. Non - Vegetarian was great, taste is maintained really well. Parking is available for two wheeler in the basement of the same building. I think even cars are allowed to park im basement if there's enough space available.

Good Ambience & Good Food !! I visited this restaurant for a team lunch recently and the experience was wonderful. We were a group a 9 people and being a weekday we got seats easily. The restaurant has options for Both Buffet and Ala-carte. Buffet has only VEG Options. They serve the Soup & starters(4-5 items) at the table & the variety and taste was excellent. In-fact the starters were the best in the whole lunch. The main course had regular Roti, 4 different Sabjis, Biryani, Veg Noodles, Plain Rice, Rasam & Curd Rice etc etc. Again coming to Desserts they had good variety of items and the taste was very good. Overall wonderful Experience & would definitely recommend this place to my friends. Added Bonus is that they have some Rajasthani Hats to wear and click Selfies. The Restaurant can accommodate one big group of 25-30 people too. Parking is very limited within the building but there is lot of space around the Restaurant to park the vehicles.

I have opted for the mughal themed 1st floor of the restro ,instead of the more casual modern terrace . Which is more suitable for casual meal over a drink. We went for mughal ala carte recipes . Tawa mutton starter,chicken makhmali kebab,mutton rara,kulcha were amazing. Biriyani was good . And in dessert , malpua with kheer was something more than amazing. The music they played was not at all went with the mughal ambience ,but soon when customers started popping they put the tight track . Lovely experience it was . Lovely Authentic Mughal foods

They have a very good buffet, rate wise it's much much cheaper... Quality food is really great.... It's a veg buffet.... Hotel ambience is good, staffs are friendly

Place is good. The service is good. But the food not at all good. Biryani was full dry . Rasam had no taste. Panipuri not good. Ice cream was thin like milk shake. One good thing is starters were atleast good to eat. So 3 stars for place service n starters. This was all about the buffet.

Worst service had to beg for water buffet never refilled found hardly anything in starter. Didn't expect this from Jalsa. Concentration only on ala Carter they see people opting buffet as beggars

Nice ambience and very good and fast service... quality of the food is very good but the quantity for the price paid is less.. The egg Manchurian we ordered was very tasty, however the crispy corn can improved both by quality and quantity..Overall good experience, will surely visit again..

Biggest problem is Mismanagement... they served someone else food to my plate mistakenly and took out immediately when they realized it's a mistake.... I mean poor guy whom they served these kababs later :/.... Food was very average... No clean sofas.. All were dirty.... Not at all kids friendly.

I had dinner in Jalsa on my birthday and what could be the best gift for a foodie.. they served delicious food to us. And after that we had done some photography with ancient attire’s . If this place is near to your house you can choose to go here.

Ambiance of this place is good with the seating arrangement which luked good😊 food I tried above, all were very delicious😋 I was not made to wait for long tym. Staff of the restaurant are really good. I would want to suggest and recommend this restaurant.

Good place for indian food and good to go with families

It is a very nice family restaurant. I loved the ambience. You get the feeling of being in the Mughal era. Food is good too. Located in Banashankari and easy to find. Parking facilities are available too.

I had visited Jalsa long time back. And again I came back here before they had 3 floors and different ambience but now only at 1st floor is jalsa 2nd and 3rd floor has been closed .still they are maintaining same taste .And it’s a feel of Mughal times ambience is very good they have done good paintings. Coming to the food they have veg buffet very reasonable price 389 inclusive tax in the lunch and ala Carter is also available. I had sweet corn chicken soup is good and tasty and in starters I had Khandari chicken tikka and fish Chilly . And the staff are very polite and they will suggest me good food. Visited this place for a Sunday dinner and it wasn’t buzzing at all for which I had my doubts if the food quality is going to bad. However it was the other way around. We decided for a light dinner and ordered a soup, starter, Roti and Subzi and everything was super fresh and served very well. Slightly pricey but worth a onetime visit since you have Zomato gold 1+1.

Food was totally tasteless, Chicken biryani had 1.5 liters of oil and they had forgot to mis adding salt to it. We ordered tandoori and they gave semi cooked raw chicken. Just went bu rating and ambience in Zomato but overall just horrible.

Food is good but very expensive place. For small cup of sprite they charged 80. It is not 5 star hotel. Decent place good for family

The best buffet spread ever, and different main course everytime. Very good quality, negligible grease, fresh, hot, and fabulous taste. The starters are scrumptious and drinks are delicately perfect. The manchow soup starter is simply awesome and consistent in taste every single visit. The buffet always ends with a delicious curd rice with papad and pickle. Dessert section is a mini paradise with bite size different flavoured pastries and cakes along side vanilla icecream with mango/pineapple/hot chocolate sauce and crushed peanuts, and traditional gajar halwa, gulab jamun and rasgulla! So much for a very nominal price, is almost noble gesture on the management's part. Thank you and keep up the good work. Wishing you a very Happy 2020!

First of all the ambience is peaceful . The food is good specially the non veg.  Prices are also average . Its nice place either to go with friends or family.

Ordered Gosht and Murg Dum Biryani on zomato...Was looking forward to have good biryani like which I had eaten in other Jalsa restaurant...Food was below average...Taste was no better than any other ordinary restaurant..Very unhappy...Will never order again

There was continued shouting from kitchen that was very annoying and audible at our table. They seemed a bit under staffed as well. Server was polite but poor guy was handing a lot of tables. There was nothing special about food as well. Nothing jumped out or nothing was bad either so our all an average experience

A good authentic north and south indian food near Banashankari ,a must try place to visit in and around BDA complex Banashankari.

Nice family restaurant for vegetarian as well as for non vegetarian.. but if you are spicy food lover then this would not be your better choice to go for. Service is good. And you will get a chance to listen evergreen Hindi songs at the background which you have never thought to listen again... ☺️✨<br/>And the place has royal interior which is mesmerizing but they need to renovate those interior works because the furnitures are pretty old and doesn't look like hygiene.<br/>Coming to food it's decent especially starters like tikkas , tandoori items. Best place for family treats in the surrounding.

Ambience and service is fast and very good. I tasted some jeera rice with some pineapple raita which was pretty sour. Starters options are less. Desserts aren't worth the price.

A very nice place to eat.. the taste will surprise you.. ordered tandoor mushrooms and broccoli.. was amazing, we finished the starters in no time.. a good main course as well.. loved the phulkas and mushroom gravy.. highly recommend..

The north Indian dishes are really good to taste, the dal is pretty tasty,the chicken dishes are yum as well, try the butter chicken, I know it's a cliche, how ever that's like the cream of all chicken dishes,also try the chicken starters.... ghee rice is also pretty good. Overall a good reasturant... at a nice location, customer service could have been better

A nice place serving authentic north indian mughlai cuisine. We had a chicken biryani , lollypop and some butter chicken. The food was amazing with the biryani being one of the best I've had. Not like the typical Andhra biryani common in Bangalore but the real handi style biryani served in Delhi or Lucknow. Would definitely recommend it

Well based on review went there was hoping.to have decent dinner but then the experience was not that good. The ambience looks dull and old. Food was just ok nothing great. Mutton was old and not good. Briyani was ok could have added more spices etc. Everything I order was like just mixed at the last minute and served which was not giving me any flavour in a bit. Ambience 5/10, food 5/10, service 8/10, value for money 5/10

One of the best and affordable places if you want to go have some starters, some beverages.... Though the kalmi kebab was outstaning and also the masala papad but the hara bhara kebab was a little dry.... However the kesar kulfi was the best amongst all... It is a place where you can plan your next dinner also if you do not want to spend much but fill your stomach this is a really good place with a good staff and ambience... 😊 Jalsa

Jalsa is a decent place with good ambiance. The food is more of North Indian and they are okay. We order soup and couple of main course dishes out of which soup was not that great. Overall it's good

Absolutely loved this place and their Moghul Theme. Food was very delicious, and 'Gajar ka Halwa' was something I wasn't expecting to be that much good, but it turned out to be an absolute love!

Located in Banashankari, this is your typical indian food go to place. The food here is decent but the quantity in my opinion is less when compared with the price.<br/>We had a chicken dum Biryani which was not that good, felt as if it was normal rice with chicken pieces in it.<br/>Their starters were good and salad as well.<br/>Lassi was very tasty along with the other moctails.<br/>The eye catching thing here is the ambiance. Great and cosy ambiance that can put you to sleep.<br/>Overall an average experience.

A nice place to go out with family. The ambience and the service is good at the roof top. The food seems a bit over priced. But the taste and the presentation will calm you down. A must visit family restaurant.

It is a nice place and provides average food, the ambience was average too.. we went on weekday the place was empty with just 1 -2 tables occupied. Went there for dinner. The starter and main course was nice.

We visited this place on a Sunday late evening. To my surprise the place was relatively empty. We ordered Chicken Malmali Kebab, Paneer Gravy and Naans to go with it. The food was delicious and would give 5/5 for it. Coming to what could be better, I would say service. The waiters seemed dull and looked like they were just going through the motions. Also some of the cutlery and plates seemed to be wearing off. These were the two reasons for taking away 1 star. All in all a great food experience.

Chicken tandoori was good in taste and was well marinated and well cooked.<br/>Chicken dum biryani was ok but they need to add more of spices which will make it taste better.<br/>They should play good music.<br/>

The ambience and lighting is very good, and we loved the theme of Emperor Turbans! The starters are served really quick, but the choice in food has to be good for you to enjoy your food. Malai Kofta is sweeter that it is in other places, the rotis and kulchas are harder than usual, I would suggest to go for Butter rotis and kulchas. Hope it was helpful :)<br/>

The food is great here. We tried biriyani, butter nan , patiyala paneer and patiyala chicken. Quantity is ample for 2 people to share a dish. Staffs here are polite and the service time is quite satisfying.. italian in the menu felt little out of the place though we didnt try any, so can't comment on the quality.

First hand experience for being a GOLD member of Zomato..... started with mix veg badami soup which was tasty with a crunch of bafam slivers. Too much of pepper for appetising the pallate. Followed it with khumbh starter which too was spicy. Then we had chef special Falguni which was truly amazing with each vegetable having its share of taste... methi dal makahni naan and lacxha paratha to go with it... good ambience dimly lit and stream of people keep coming in. Overall good . Nothing to talk about the gold member and benefits.

One of my most favorite places for North Indian in Banashankari! Their flavours are spot on and their food is always consistent and satisfying.<br/><br/>It's nothing extraordinary, it's just subtle quality food and quality flavours so it's definitely a recommend from my side.<br/><br/>My favourites here are the Kadai Vegetable, Tomato Soup, and their Veg Biriyani is quite nice too. To top it all off, their ambience is quite lovely also.

A beautiful place to dine in.The interiors take you back to the Mughal era. The lightings are just perfect.We went there on the occasion of Christmas and so they had only limited items available. But the taste and service was not compromised at all.The only complaint is that the breads could have been better.Would surely like to come here again.<br/>

Verry good place to visit with faimly in cheap price buffet only 389. I had buffet and alacart test and ambiance is good. I continue came two days. Buffet food was change this is one good thing doing jalsa member. Andhra style chilli chicken is different from other place it should be little gravi. But test was good.

Its a restaurant near to Banashankari BDA. Me along with few of my office friends visited to have buffet but unfortunately they only provide veg buffet. On inquiring they said this place is mostly visited by vegetarians. Anyways we ordered ala carte items which took ages to come. Food was ok ok. Definitely not visiting anymore.

This is one of the worst restaurants I've eaten. The service is pathetic. They served raw chicken and the attitude by the waiters is even worse. I'll suggest you to not even think of visiting this place.

We went here on a weekend and one of us had the buffet while two of us took Ala Carte. Firstly the ambience and service of this place is great! The buffet had a lot of items and the good was good. We had a Pumpkin Halwa intm the dessert which was amazing. Must try! The kulchas are great here. Cheers!

Good ambience. After a long time catched up with old friends at this restaurant. Both veg and non-veg dishes were good. <br/>Since this has Zomato gold offer, it worked out good on prices also. <br/>Valet parking is a add on.

Jalsa has been an all favourite go to place when craving for north Indian food. This place is also well known for the biryani. All good food.<br/>The spicy level was just right for us.<br/>They have an extensive menu varying from Indian cuisine. The pricing is moderate and one can have a nice time hanging out here. I do recommend this place.

Jalsa one of the superb place in banashankari.<br/>I love the his food. They have beautiful ambiance you can feel like a maharaja.<br/>And his food is mind blowing. This review is going out barely 45 minutes after lunch. We four were the only guests. So 4 servers for four of us. Real king like experience. Every thing else was pretty much downhill. In non veg starters, Tawa Murg was ordinary. In Non veg main course Murg Pepper Masala was forgettable. Mutton biryani was not biryani and had no hardly any mutton. Veg fared slightly better though. Corn Kabab (bhutteyan di Kabab) was good and so was Malai Kofta. But veg spring rolls was bad. It smelled as if had been fried in stale oil. <br/><br/>I generally visit a restaurant at least twice before I give an opinion but in this case I won't dare to venture again.

Experienced Dinner with family here. The ambience is fairly ok, not comparable to the one in Mahadevapura. The food tastes good but the quantity of the portion served is not. And the food is pricy as well. I guess, any other North Indian restaurant can serve equally tasty food for a better price. Nothing extraordinary about Jalsa.

It is situated in Banashankari 2nd stage opp to BDA Complex, above ICICI Bank<br/>We visited this restaurant for a Thursday dinner<br/>We ordered Manchow Soup, Masala Papad, Panneer Lajawab, Murg Surkh Lal Tikka, Dal Kichidi, Veg Dum Biryani, Lime water and a water melon juice<br/>Manchow Soup, masala papad, lime water and water melon juice were good, you can't expect anything more of it.<br/>Panneer Lajawab was kinda panneer tikka dish seasoned with mustard oil on top. Panneer was tender on the inside and slightly crispy on the outside. Most of us liked it.<br/>Murg Surk Lal Tikka was a boneless chicken tikka dish. It was marinated well, spices were really into it and the chicken was so tender. We loved it. (both the above dishes were spicy)<br/>Dal Kichidi was really good though I'm not a big fan of it, I liked it too.<br/>Dum Biryani ( my mouth still waters) stole the show! It was cooked in a bowl that was sealed with Wheat flour dough to seal the aroma in itself and boy it tasted and smelled great. Rice was cooked for perfection, masala wasn't too much nor too less, it was just right!<br/>The music they were playing was so light and added upto the neat and well decorated ambience this place offered<br/>It was a good fine-dining experience<br/>Overall I could rate this place a 4.5*<br/>I do recommend Jalsa Banashankari

The pleace is nice and comfortable. The soya caap was awesome. Everything looks budget than. Clearly on of the trademark dish as per me and a must try.

Jalsa on of the great place in bangalore. Good ambiance with superb testy food. If you come once to jalsa you will be fan of jalsa buffet and alacarte . A royal and ethnic atmosphere builds a strong essence to being India. I have been here more than 10 times in a 6 month with family. They have 3 floor. 1st floor is jalsa. 2nd floor in party hall for 50-80 people and third floor they have PEPPY PEPPERS there they are serving mexican and food with pasta, pizza, sandwiches, beautiful dessert with sweet and simple plating and Verity's of Nachoes with deferent colours. I went jalsa yesterday and had mouth watering food with his verity of desserts. We are 6 member so 4 member had his buffet and remains had alacarte. Subzi badami shorba, Veg fried rice, cheese potli kabab, masala papad, chilli panner. And in desserts gulab jamun, pumpkin halwa.<br/>Every things was superb.<br/>In mocktails recommend jalsa ki pasand, jannat E jaam.<br/>Every things was superb.<br/>Price is affordable. Good staff and fast service.

The ambience is the best!! The concept of the hotel is that of the mughal era and it quite captivates that. The food is good but is on the expensive side. Overall a good place to visit for that feel of the royal era!

Wonderful experience ! I am not much fan of veg food but went there with my team (as i am the only non-veg guy in my team ahhh... Poor guy 😐) , i was amazed with the quality of starters ,all were cooked so well that i was amazed , our stomach was full with starters so couldn't had main course but for a rating of a restaurant is decided by the starters so i rated full . Veg-lovers must go there and Non-veg lovers if wanna go to veg one try this one . A typical nov-veg guy is rating full to beg restaurant itsnt it interesting 😉😉 go and try 😊😊

Good place for North Indian food. The ambience is amazing. The theme of the setting is the Mughal Empire. Proper sofa seating is there along with chairs too. Biryani is good in taste as well as in quantity and the vegetarian food was also tasty, only the quantity was a little less. And the place is kind of expensive. There was one thing that was disappointing which was the Pepsi, the quantity was very less for the cost. Overall it is a good place with amazing ambience.

Very nice ambience with courteous staff. Opted for buffet lunch during weekday. Place was pretty empty. Varieties in the buffet is minimal and so the price. <br/><br/>Total value for money

Good ambience with tasty food.<br/>Cheese chilli paratha with Bhutta palak methi curry is a good combo.<br/>Lemon Chicken in the starters is a must try item.<br/>Egg fried rice was also quite tasty.<br/>In the mocktails, recommend "Alice in Junoon". Do not miss it.

We went for lunch. Items were very less n not good also. Ordered Pani Puri one more time and taste was not same as first time. It's completely waste of money

You can’t go wrong with Jalsa. Never been a fan of their buffet and thus always order alacarte’. Service at times can be on the slower side but food is worth the wait.

Ambience iz really good.. wid Mughlai era touch .... I had been here wid my frnd fr dinr ..... had orderd Chinese starter paneer chilli , manchow soup n veg chef spcl biryani ... biryani waz okie okie ... but soup n paneer chilli wz tooo good... fr fine dining restaurant I cud recommend Jalsa 😊
