If You are looking out for best Arabic food experience. This is the place to be. The staff is friendly and food is delicious and the quantity is very filling. If you are around this area this is the place to look out for.

Went there today. The ambience was really nice and welcoming even though there were less people. I feel like this business needs upliftment. Food was excellent. Felt at home. I hope they will shift to the ground floor so that more people can come. Overall experience, amazing.

Super nice service and good food..we ordered the mezze platter and few other dishes. Few veg options but very tasty. Both Arun and leo took good care of us including a lovely baklava plate and candle (for a birthday) and making special veg option for me. The place smells bit musty and could use some sprucing up. But think we will go here often for our mezze fix..

Had dinner at Zaks with family.. Good mediterranean cuisine ... Excellent Service and courteous staff. We had a very enjoyable not too spicy meal here. Everyone was happy with what was ordered. It was delicious! Overall rating: Ambience- 4/5 Menu- 5/5 Service- 5/5 Hygiene- 4/5 Quality of food- 5/5 Taste- 5/5 Value for money- 5/5 I would recommend this restaurant to my friends and will visit again. Must try.

This restaurant is located on comes road. One can easily notice while driving or sitting in the car itself. They serve middle East cuisine dishes. Every single fish is very tasty, yummy and mouth watering effect. The taste is different because of the different masala they use. Nice interior, good setup. There are private cabins are there for family. Low level table and chairs are placed in the private cabins. Overall great food for a good price.

I visited Zaks after knowing and meeting the owner in another event. Was very excited and eager to go to this place. Here are my views: 1. Probably due to post pandemic the place was empty and when i visited the lights were not ON. I had to ask the staff if the place is open. After going in then they switched on the lights and music. The decor and the ambiance is very poor and gives a doubt if they can actually delivery good food. HOWEVER 2. The staff are knowledgeable and know about each dish. They proposed good dishes and we ordered a few as per the description on the menu. 3. The food when dished out was absolutely yum. The taste was heavenly. The alfaham was yum, tasty and juicy. The mezzeh platter was awesome. The Mushakal rice was average as the mutton was tough. But apart from that everything was great. 4. The pricing are very decent. For 4 of us we spent just 1400/- which is good for Mediterranean food. So, it's just the interiors and the emptiness that makes you doubt the food. Once the food comes the view changes. Hope the team can work on this for their good. Cheers. Follow platewithflavours for more in Instagram

Food was pretty good, but the service was top-notch. We were all pretty full, and unable to move much, when the host offered us lemon tea on the house, which was a nice touch. If you're bored with the usual restaurant options, then you can definitely give this a go. Pretty light on the wallet, too, which was a surprise.

Just visited this place with hubby due to some work. They served us Kunafa something I had never tried before. And it was yummy & a perfect sweet dish. Not overly sweet you can literally feel ghee melting inside your mouth as soon as you take that bite. Good place for family and the perfect place to enjoy Mediterranean cuisine. Such a friendly atmosphere here ☺️

Kinda my first experience with middle eastern cuisine (minus Mediterranean). Had mutton mushakal. The preparation was good and well served. The rice was mild and kebabs were melt in mouth. Topped it off with Kunafa, which was greatest adventure my taste buds had in recent times. The layers of pure indulgence. The place had no electricity so killed the vibes a bit. Service was good and people were polite. Overall, I know I don't have anything to compare this food with but me and my sister enjoyed every bit of it and that counts. 100% recommended.

It was licious. Meat was evenly slow cooked and juicy and they've taken care of each dish with care. Maqluba was so good with fried veggies, evenly coated minced meat, puffy rice. The guy who helped us to choose the menu was amazing, he actually suggested us the best that goes with our taste buds...

A restaurant I shall highly recommend to treat yourself with Mediterranean food. You must try their Fatoosh salad and Mushakal (a special platter composed of chicken, meat, fish and prawns spread over flavored rice). The review would be incomplete if I don't mention the hospitable owner of this place, Zakey. He is a true gentleman, representing a host in the real sense. Do visit with family & friends! Happy eating 😋

This was our second visit. We had already tasted Mushakal and sheesh kababs on our first outing. After we ordered the Mezzeh Platter, Hystam, chef and owner, came around and made excellent suggestions for our lunch. Mezzeh platter was excellent. We then tried Maqluba, which was a toppled over dish of pickles, Aubergenes, and minced meat. Lamb was tender and cooked to perfection. Kunafa was out of this world. This is a great place if you like Middle Eastern food.

A place to go for Mediterranean food lover. Though interior is not very impressive, food is delicious. Hospitality is too good, they serve you with so much of love, I just loved it. They also have very good vegetarian options.

Zaks is really lovely and warm place for lovers of Arabian food. Their Fatoosh salad, hummus and mushakil Arabian biriyani is a must try and mouth watering good. The young man Mr. Hisam is a really warm and enthusiastic owner who will make the experience worthwhile with a personal touch. Must try for foodies.

Mushakal rice is dry no gravy the meat is half cooked wen contacted chef says can u bring the food I want to verify it’s become pathetic to order now this was my second instance once they served cold food
Ashley Maurice
Good food, quality ingredients! And really reasonable too.

Zaks is one of the oldest restaurants for some mouth watering Mediterranean cuisine in the city. They have a pretty elaborate menu from salads, grills, appetisers, rolls, Mandi and other dishes to choose from. The sheek kebabs in particular are super scrumptious, certainly a must have. Ordering a platter here is a great option as you won’t miss out on the variety of their best kebabs 😋👌🏻<br/>Certainly not to miss out on the Mandi which is its USP. We ended the mean with some Sulaimani chai which was quite alright 👍🏻

The taste of Alfham kebab is the best among all the place.<br/>This outlet has got a good facility to have lunch/dinner with family and friends. Biryani quantity is so much that we will be full and canf have even kebab.<br/>All the food items available are tasty enough.

Food-4/5<br/>Ambience-2/5<br/>Service-3/5<br/>Cleanliness-2/5<br/><br/>The place has some amazing Arabic food, taste and quality at its best, but the problem is that it’s not clean and service is very slow. <br/><br/>Ambience looks too old and one of the reasons it looks more dirty.<br/><br/>Do up the place and u will be the best around for the cuisine u serve.
Jason Cornelio
The chicken kabsah tasted horrible! Felt like food poisoning! Never going to order food from this place again. The standards have hit rock-bottom.
Aishwarya Vijay Simhalu
They should honestly work a little on the ambience. By that I do not mean fancy interiors. They have to try and keep the place a little more clean and presentable. We tried the biryani and grill, both of which were the best of its kind. This place is so unpopular for the kind of food it serves.
Mohammed Fahad
One of my favourite Arabian restaurant. But sad to see the quality is going down and they have started reducing the quantity. Ordered musaqal yesterday they served half the rice.
Danny Peterson
By far one of the best place for Arabian and Mediterranean food. Just love this place. A must go place for all and don't miss the kunafa desert<br/>
Sheik Suhail
Today i ordered (mushakal)food on 1.30pm, food delivered on 2.10pm, iam satisfied by zomato fast delivery.<br/>But iam very very disappointed by this restaurant ZAKS Mediterranean cusine , while eating food i got 1 cockroach in the food, immediately I stopped eating and throughed the food in the dustbin, and i immediately informed the restaurant people, they offered me another (mushakal). But i rejected there offer. So i kindly request ZOMATO to plz dont tie up with these type of restaurant in ur app.
Zainul Abid
I went on yesterday for dinner....I ordered Mushakkal(rice with chicken and lamb) and Kunafa. But Kunafa is not at all same which is getting from middle east .Y they are putting rose syrup above the kunafa<br/>Remaining the staff and ambience is good
Azzmin Mehta
Great biryani and hummus salad and khanafa(dessert). The owners were very sweet, great to talk to and the place had great warmth and hospitality.

Well always been a fan of Lebanese food..dropped in at Zaks! Ordered sheesh taouq, mushakkal and traditional hummus pita! Sheesh taouq was amazing! Smoked and tandoored in some great flavour.. mushakkal was mix of chicken gravy and some kababs..the dish was kept half in dry and half in gravy chicken..this really integrated well in the dish..hummus was good..and pita was in house made, also very good..Do try this place of u love lebanese cuisine!
Robinson John Moozhayil
Disappointed with the food. Will never recommend anyone to visit this place. Hoping that they will come up with better cooks and better ambience to be in business. All foodies can visit this place atleast once, so that you will be thankful to all the other restaurants, which you have given negative reviews 😂
Vaibhav Yadav
Musakal Musakal Musakal 😋😋😋<br/>Would always thank my friend who took me here and made me taste musakal . I loved it at first go. Also tried Chai bin nana and samak-fish and they were equally worthy of the hype created when i visited this place. Zaks is one place i would always visit when in Bangalore. Very much recommended 👍🏽👍🏽

I would love to rate them more than 5 stars. <br/>Food 5/5<br/>Ambience 5/5<br/>Service 5/5<br/>Hospitality 5/5<br/>All in one restaurant a must and should try to all the food lovers.<br/>This place is simply out standing.<br/><br/>

ordered a kabsa for home delivery. no salad or other accompaniments were delivered that are usually given

Food quality was awful. May it’s the vegetarian food that I ordered ..taste was bad and overflowing with oil

Best food in taste as well as in terms of money<br/>Regular visitor of Zak's from last 2 year, fond of there yummy food, not so spicy, subtle taste, go for especially mushakkal.<br/>

For a change we wanted to savour diff flavours... And had been recommended by a friend so as heard d food was good. to match a tingle of arabian did live up to d name... Mutton seekh was very good. Al fahm n mushakkal and kunafa...
Nishrah Shafi
This place is near Frazer town, had been here earlier when the food used to be yum. Visited last week with friends the place, the decor is quite good however food was OK. Quite disappointing as the staff is least bothered and after a wait of half an hour got all the items at once. What I really loved was the Al faham, biryani was OK and mushaqal what they claim is best was OK not great also the picture is very different from the reality. Overall OK experience
Ajo Koshy
Though at a prime location , it lacks the chutzpah to keep it going. The ambience is average, food oily and cold and the staff don't give you proper attention. Maybe the main reason why it isn't crowded. It boasts of Arabic cuisine, but the food felt reheated. They don't even have regular drinking water to offer, forcing you to buy mineral bottled water or cold drink. Definitely needs improvement
Mazhar Merchant
Yummy food!! Perfect Arabian style, especially the khubus bread and the hummus are just outstanding!! True flavors and rich taste! MUST try if you are looking for a small yet filling meal! Good prices and beautiful place very well set up!

I have 18 months old daughter and she likes every dish prepared here. The food is no spicy and healthy! Since then I've stopped visiting junk food outlets.

I heard high things about this place and the unusual names of the dishes attracted me. And I had never tasted proper Mediterranean cuisine before. So I am not going to compare the food and how it should be, I am not that experienced either. But, honestly it has disappointed me. <br/><br/>The starter was nice though. But Biriyani (Mushakal, Kabsa Lahme etc.) was not that good in taste. Moreover it is overpriced. There was hardly any signature smell of biriyani. Mushakal is like yellow coloured rice with few pieces of separately cooked chicken/mutton. Mutton preparations are good. One of my ‘co-eaters’ had had food here 3-4 years back. He said the quality and quantity both have degraded.<br/><br/> When we asked the manager about this degradation, he rather provided a lame excuse as appeared to me. Previously they used to mix liver in Mushakal. But some customers complained as they didn’t like liver in their food. So the restaurant has to compromise. I wonder how some pieces of liver could change the taste so much. Is it the secret?<br/>Maybe the cook has changed!<br/><br/>Restaurant staffs are casual and very much welcoming. Ambiance is not that good, not that bad either. Handwash and restroom are dirty. By dirty I mean perpetual dirtiness, not like in the morning it was clean and by repeated use it has become like that.<br/><br/>As I personally do not know the real taste of these dishes, further analysis would be vague. The chicken and mutton gravy items tasted like proper Indian, this is how my mother cooks (she cooks the same thing really well without knowing anything about middle-eastern foods)! Not sure what middle-eastern people will say about this.<br/>Saw someone belonging to middle-east has praised this place. Perhaps it is that way.
Jawad Siddiqui
We are ardent fans of Mediterranean cuisine and naturally have been visiting Zak's regularly in the past 5yrs. Surprisingly, my last weekend visit was highly disappointing considering the decline in the taste of the food they serve. We tried the chicken soup, fattoush and Kheema rice. Pretty much, every dish was below expectations.<br/>I was told that their chef was on vacation which is not good for any restaurant.
Arthur Santhosh
The worst experience ever, food was blank.. service is bad.. dinning experience is bad.. and yea to top things off.. super over priced place.. they claim that their signature dish is something called MUSHAKAL, it's basically plain rice with few kababs which is not even hot .. overall a bad let down
Susan Cheryl Noronha
OH MY GOD! When I found out there a place which served Mediterranean food just walking distance from my house? Woohoo!<br/>My friend suggested this place to me and one fine day I ordered. Having grown up in the Middle East, I was ecstatic at getting in some 'local' grub!<br/>These guys do it very well! Tried almost everything on the menu and it's all very VFM and tastes exquisite! Sadly for me- the veg kebsa tastes even better than the non veg (which is also tasty mind you!)<br/>The hummus, babaganoush, the kebabs! It's all awesome! Go for it! Zaks kicks ass!!
Moiz Khan
Amazing food, it was my fourth time there and get enough of it.. food is just yumm<br/>Must visit if you plan for a dinner in and around frazer town with your friends, family or loved one<br/>Great service and management too..

This Is One Of The Worse Arabian Restaurant In Bangalore. The Taste Is Average, Quantity Is Very Less & Not Worth The Money. Its Not Worth Visiting Here At All. I Ordered Kunafah Dessert & I Was Served Some Really Bad Local Indian Sweet Which Dint Taste Even 1% Like Kunafah !!! Horrible Experience !!!
Chef "The Foodiee"
This restaurant is situated on average location at Frazer Town. Very difficult to get parking and it is a disaster to park on the main Road. <br/><br/>This restaurant actually cater Arabian Dishes, but unfortunately the taste and quality does not match and qualify with taste and type of Arabian food. They just attempted to copy. We were group of 5 and we were not happy with the services and food. <br/><br/>I am sure there is a space of improvement were in the management can improve the loopools.<br/><br/>Has average ambience. It is little bit expensive.<br/><br/>Ambience 2/5<br/>Location 2/5<br/>Service 2/5<br/>Quality 2/5<br/>Over all experience 2/5

Been here with a friend for dinner, though it was late some where around 10:30pm the place was open and served hot food. Quality : 4/5<br/>Taste: 3/5<br/>Value for money :3/5

Went there on a Friday Night at around 11 PM. The place was about to close. The ambiance was pretty good. Ordered food... they served it really fast, guess they were packing up and about to leave... Since I have never eaten anything med terrain, I went with what they suggested, it was a mix on Mutton and chicken fry with basmati rice....and some gravy.... The food was really hot.... and it was a delight to taste buds... however I couldn't finish it, just ate up all the pieces and some rice.....I also ordered a mint lime, which was really good... my wife ordered Veg Bryanni and lime soda..and she just loved it.....the sweet dish Kanafa..was the really really yummy... the owner was a very polite person and treated us really well..overall a very good experience....People who have a zing for Medditerrian food should try it... you may not end up liking it.....I toh loved it....

Ordered food from here today. The Shawarma was not Shawarma. It was some dry capsicum with two three pieces of chicken. The baba ganoush got spoiled in one hour. Extremely disappointed and never eating from here again.
Sheil Hetal
The restaurant makes some amazing Arabian and lebanese food, although the restaurant itself feels a bit suffocating because of poor air conditioning. I love to have the hot and cold mezze here - the hummus is much better than what you get at other places for the same price point as they are really generous with the olive oil in it. The pita is also very nice and soft.
Mondakranta Saikia
Mediterranean cuisine is an aroma of fresh air , specially after the palate has been satiated with chinese, continental and indian. Arrived for a very early dinner affair at 7 PM today, found the place empty (to our delight!) - immediately settled for chicken shorba (Bil-Dijaj), muttom kheema with kubus (like pita bread). All was v. delicious. Kheema was a li'l on the oily side, but we expected that. <br/>What else? Loved the fact that Zak's has an open kitchen which re-instilled the faith that no fishy business is being carried out behind closed doors. Service was fast. Waiter skillfully tried to cross-sell and up-sell whatever we ordered. As for the ambiance, if you are sitting next to the glass views - and don't mind the confusing blue, green lights - you shall be fine.  Specially if food is on your mind and hunger is in your belly.<br/>Overall, if you are in the vicinity, this is a great option.
Taher Chawala
When it comes to true arabian zaks is the place <br/>The style...the seating...the food all a thums up 👍🏻<br/>The hummus and the mushakkal (Pulao rice topping of variities of Kababs) is a must have <br/>And the arabian tea is just wonderful <br/>Want to try true arabian...zaks is the place <br/>
Kunal Bhagawati
Pretty decent food for not that high a price. They had this flavoured rice with assorted kebabs that was enough for dinner and a lime mint cooler that was really well made. I'm so used to over sweet saturated lemon concentrates in other places, this was a surprise. <br/><br/>I don't think that the food deservers so high a rating, but their staff were pretty courteous and understood what I wanted pretty quickly, and pointed out what portions were right (which was not in the menu, so if you are there, do ask about the quantity) and reduced them it for me accordingly, no fuss. <br/><br/>Didn't expect much, but pleasantly surprised.
Tousif Ahmed
One of the worst management i have ever seen,First no proper service above that they argue. LEARN TO RESPECT CUSTOMERS...<br/>Short Story - Had been there on Sunday 7th Aug 2016 With my family for dinner , to serve 1 rice dish it took 45mins and after finishing food everything ,they come up with starter(after 60mins) which we ordered as we entered the resto....Its totally  waste of money and non-respecting people!  .................Never Ever visit "ZAKS"
Mohammed Asif
The restaurant is running on mercy and lost people like me. One of the worst ever. Nothing Mediterranean about the cuisine. It is strictly recommended not to try. We ordered falafel - it was burnt and a disaster. I ordered a mandi - which is supposed be a Yemeni dish or a Saudi dish. The chicken was tandoori - just like Indians migrated to the country similarly Indian chicken and migrated to the sad rice....
Samhita Kishore
The best shwarma I have had is from this place! They serve with mayo and its absolutely delicious! They also have good Arabian cuisine. Their hummus and pita bread is also very well made and tasty! The ambiance of the place is good, they have a private areas to sit if you come as a big group and small tables as well. Their service is also quick and smooth. <br/>Overall a decent place to have the best shawarma! <br/>Food- 4/5<br/>Ambiance- 3.5/5<br/>Plating- 3.5/5<br/>Quality- 3/5<br/>Quality- 3.5/5<br/>Plating- 3/5

Tried zaks after a gap of 3years... It has changed in quality. The quality of mashakal has gone down compared to what it used to be. Mutton seekh kabab is just like masala kabab ;) Still a better place to go for a change.
Sharon Manisha
Zaks is the only place where you will find authentic arabian cuisine...Excellent arabian food...Mild On the pocket But big on taste! keep it up...Overall a great experience with amazing service and ambience...worth the visit and money...!
Mohammed Khaja Hussain
Been there a few times, found it almost empty even during Fri evenings and over weekend, which is strange for an eatery in this area.<br/><br/>Have some fond culinary memories of the old Zaks (Luna sweets building), which were not lived up to by  the present joint.<br/><br/>Food is average, with few dishes missing the mark completely.<br/><br/>The Majlis (baithak/floor) type of spacious seating is always a plus and the pleasant and responsive staff are definitely a plus.<br/><br/>The last time went during a Friday night ended as a candle light dinner due to a power outage and lack of a power backup.
AbdulBQuazi
Ambience- 2.5/5<br/>Food- 4/5<br/>Service- 4/5<br/><br/>TOTAL- 3.5/5<br/><br/>The place is not much crowded, the staff are good and helpful.<br/>Must try- Hummus with Pita bread, Mushakal Ma Riz<br/><br/>

Sunday 4pm was my bus back to Bombay, but Bengaluru had yet another wonder on offer. We landed up for some Arabian cuisine at Zaks (on Coles Road, Frazer Town), and this is where we had the best meal of our trip, the best looking too and of course, it was regal. The Lahme Mandi, Khabsa Laham, Pita topped with Cheese, Zatar, Spinach and Mutton (Laham/Lahme), Reyesh, Lahme Nasaf, Zak’s Special Chicken and Um-ali (dessert) disappeared into our stomachs, well accompanied by Kubus rotis and Tamir Hindi (Tamarind Juice). In all sincerity, the food was brilliant and every person should visit this place while in Bangalore.<br/><br/>Details:<br/><br/>Lahme Nasaf – Boneless mutton slow cooked in spices. Tasted beautiful.<br/>Zaks Sp. Chicken – A similar dish as above, made with chicken in a reddish semi-gravy.<br/>Accompanied by Kubus.<br/><br/>Pita topped with Cheese, Zatar, Spinach and Mutton (Laham/Lahme).<br/><br/>They call mutton chops Reyesh in Arab and they make it real well!!<br/><br/>The Khabsa Laham, the glory of Arab, in all its uniquely flavored and piquant glory, with tender chunks of mutton. More than a masterpiece.<br/><br/>Lahme Mandi, another rice preparation with a milder flavor with two large cuts of mutton. With it, comes the Raita, the thin Sarwa and boiled veggies. With the tremendous concoction of ripe tamarinds and sugarcane jaggery that they call Tamarind Juice – blew our minds away, this.<br/><br/>We ended our meal with this great dessert made from semolina and some kind of starch. And I ended an awesome weekend getaway at Bengaluru!

"Zaks"... If you have not heard about the place, you would have easily zipped through this place. Located near Sony Center (Opp ICICI Bank), Frazer Town, Wanted to try "Musakal"....<br/>What to expect- Great Food, especially the Kebabs & Musakal.... Kebabs are soft & juicy.... Yum!!!<br/>Musakal.... Let me tell its not your typical biryani.... Its a flavored long grain rice with sprinkle of gravy and filled with Chicken & Mutton decorated over. Musakal's tastes was good with kebabs.<br/>The owner is also very courtesy and always ensures that his guest's are satisfied possibly. Staff has a reflection of the services prompts
Murali G
Used to be awesome but it's sadistic now. Bad food bad staff no regard for people emotions.. Van conclude that I have had the worst experience ever and will never see them again. THE WORST THING ABOUT is that you get abused when you call and complain
Kurien C K
This is yet another iconic place in Bangalore and I always loved their food. But now the meet portions are small and dry while the gravies quite oily and the taste way down from where it was.Consistancy is extremely important to get the old timers back.I tried their home delivery for a small house get together and that turned out prompt and friendly

Zaks.... hmmm.... I have reviewed many a restaurant in India as well as abroad, and somehow the cuisine at Zaks reminds me of the food which I tasted while travelling in Dubai. So we stopped at this LOVELY place called Lalezar. The food is on the similar lines. The owners are very warm and help you choose correctly from the menu. Good Going....
Faraz Shaikh
Ambience sucks should update the interiors or at least keep it maintained.. But food really tastes well 'try mushakal' the rice Masala tastes really good overall 3💫 for the food 2 💫 for the service and ambience ✌️
Karthik Dantu
Amazing food ! One of best mutton chops I ever had. Service is quick and the ambience smells middle eastern . must try <br/>Also try mandi , yummy and tasty<br/>#good for #muttonlovers
Faheem Ahmed
One of the good Arabian restaurant. Good ambience. The main food here is the Musakkal with saffron rice platter with variety of kebabs.....
Madhurima Mehendiratta
Not sure what a lot of people are talking about rating this place high. Ordered in a variety of things from this place, not one thing was tasty, its hard to go wrong with Hummus and Pita, yet, they made going wrong with it seem easy. I really enjoy the middle eastern cuisine, but this sure was a HUGE disappointment.
Mahboob Hussain
My man Friday for a pocket friendly delicious lunch /dinner for the entire family. The food is nice specially the chicken biryani which is light and aromatic given the abundance of greasy spicy biryani varieties in the city. Our favorite is musakkal which comes with the kebab assortment and a  gravy variant of mutton kebab which i found quite unique. the zaks special chicken roll is a good starter its filled with succulent chicken and tomato dices..<br/>the ambience is not so good and cleanliness quite compromised. the owner yells at the top of his voice and can be seen frequently having a gu sup session with his friends almost ignoring the customers need of a proper dining ambience. the owners son adds to the cacophony whenever he is around. the waiter is quite stretched when customers come in 4s and 5s ...<br/>the wash basin area is best avoidable its a dirty pit...<br/>i stay very close to the restaurant so ts quite convenient for me to step in when my wife feels lazy to cook or when i think of having a juicy musakkal! my kid doesnt like this place so much
Jawad Ahmed
No doubt, #Mushakal is my favourite. <br/>Still exploring the varieties each time I visit <br/>Very friendly staff and well aware of flavours <br/>A must try for all

Very disappointed with Zaks and the lack of professional courtesy shown. Have they forgotten that they are a part of the service industry and in a field which is rather competitive too? <br/><br/>Want a home delivery from them???? Forget it !! It's bound to embarrass you in front of your guests if you are depending on Zaks to handle the food !! We waited for 2 hrs for a what they claimed would be a 40 min delivery and to the end, they have the audacity to tell us that they would not be able to cater the food any more ! <br/><br/>Sincerely disappointed with a place I used to enjoy patronising. Byblos and the others, here comes my money and orders.
Abdul Wahid Khan
Zak's been here for a while, but I never had the opportunity to try the place with an area surrounded with the likes of savoury, chichabas, rahams, and so on (hate empire though) this place would not be on the happening part of the street but a well known restaurant for its Arabian food. We ordered a pepper fry and a few khabbus, dijaj mandi, 2 musakals. It was pleasantly surprising a huge plate with a combination of dijaj Mandi and the 2 musakals where presented. Looked delicious enough, rightly so with the shorba it tasted delicious. Assorted combinations of meat. If that wasn't enough the chicken and mutton combination was enough to satisfy my taste buds. A must try for fellow foodies.
Dujon
Happed to celebrate my birthday here. The best thing about this place was the seating arrangements. The owner was a very humble & down to earth, he suggested and recommend some of the tastiest dishes. There was also a cake cut for me at the end of our meal. The food taste really good and its definitely the Mediterranean cuisine served here. Uploaded some amazing pics of dishes.
Taufiq Ahmed Khan
Food is great but service is very bad :( been here many times. You'll love the food but the waiters aren't friendly and they don't give you a finger bowl so you've to go all the way outside to wash your hands!<br/>Irritating<br/><br/>
Silu Mathew
The aroma . The taste. Typical arabic cuisine. <br/>Mouth watering dishes. I tried out the kushkals!! should try this place if you are a arabic foodie! Very reasonable. Value for money

Been eating since a decade. Every ting awesome. Slightly difficult to find the place but if you want Arab cuisine then you will find your way ...
Nilesh Nagam
Decent joint to try some Mediterranean cuisine with bit of Indian touch to it...not really authentic food however what impressed me here is their musakal ma rai which was awesome and very good quantity enough for 2 at very very low price.i had to spend just 450 bucks for dinner for self and a friend...may be I will come back soon here to try something else and definitely value for money
Adesh
Yum yum yum !!!!! Musakal mi rai ,u gonna love this guys, its a well cooked flavoured basumati served with lots of chicken and lamb gravy as well as fried and tandoored chicken and mutton .happily serves 2 and value for money, also tried fatoosh in salads which was okayish....but musakal mi rai is must
Tanya G
The 'musakal ma riz' is to die for. its just so so yummy. I have been there on multiple occasions and they have never let me down. <br/><br/>The staff is very well mannered. The owner drops by every now and then and is very polite. The desserts are usually home-made and unique. <br/><br/>On a sick day if you feel like some soup, must try the shorba. <br/><br/>I also like the seating arrangement a lot.

The place did not match to my expectations ... The service is poor ... There were hardly people who attended ... Anyways now about the food ordered a salad faatosh it was crisp and fresh nice .. Then ordered lahme salona and kubus ... It was a nice change the mutton was really well cooked and tender ...kubus was soft ... Food is fine the ambience and service is not up to the mark ...

A good change of pace if bored with the regular Indian, Chinese, steaks and all other types of food.... service is good, I guess that would be because they are mostly empty. But I guess that is also a plus point if you are extremely hungry and want a quick large bite. Portions here are pretty good and are worth much more than you pay for. I personally love everything on the menu. A definite must try if you want to try Mediterranean cuisine.

Great food. Nice place and nicer people! Loved the Arabian food, taste, and they serve with love. The Arabian Mashakkal and side dishes were awesome. Love to come back again.

This place was a pleasant discovery. I had failed to spot Zaks earlier as it is located on the first floor. Anyway, to begin with the<br/>----> Ambience - on the left we could see a number of 'majalis', while on the right was a typical restaurant seating. The saffron coloured rice, meat platters, hummus and salads were all around the place.<br/>Food ---> There were lots of options and we wanted to order more, but one mushakkal (long fragrant saffron rice dressed up with both chicken and mutton curries and kababs) was sufficient for the two of us, inspite of my monstrous appetite! The mushakkal came along with a raita and a decent salad. It was very different from the usual Indian stuff you get in the name of Arabic food. The rice tasted somewhat like a mandi. But when complemented with the curries and kababs tasted abbbssssolutely delicious! There were other options too like the mandi, kabsa, mix platters, etc. The good news is this is an authentic Arabic restaurant, a treat for your taste buds.<br/>Price ----->very decently priced<br/>Service ----> excellent<br/>All in all a very good experience. Will visit again.

I would recommend not to visit this place with high expectations. Taste wise not that great, service and ambience also okayish. Visit only if you don't have other options !!

The best Mediterranean cuisine I've ever had. Lovely food, so flavorful and great service. We went late, about 10:30 and were there till 11:45. They didn't say a word, infact served us with pleasure. Now that's something very rare to find in hotels. <br/>Tabulai salad was so refreshing, Alfam chicken so tasty, the pita bread so soft and nice. The Zaks special roll will beat any Shavarma or roll in the city. And not to forget the fresh lime soda-(sweet) was so different from the normal ones we usually get. ITS WAY BETTER THAN SAVOURY, ANYDAY.

This is one of the best Arabian restaurants I have been to.. Well done! <br/>

Me and my friend visited this place for second time on 22nd Feb -and had a very bad experience. The food is no longer the same which we had on earlier occasion which was around a year back.<br/><br/>1. The quality of the food is fallen . Suffered with  stomach upset and vomiting. The food served was luke warm. May be the cooks have changed .Food Quality - 0/5<br/><br/>2. There were small files in salad that came along with chicken rice . The salad was stale. Should have returned it :(<br/><br/>3. Ambiance is same as before.<br/>3/5<br/><br/>4.Service - 3/5<br/><br/>Hopefully the management will take appropriate measures to restore the food quality and hygiene.

Typical Mediterranean restaurant with the ambiance and food.<br/><br/>Strictly not for spicy lovers.<br/><br/>Don't miss Zak's Spl chicken with Kubus<br/><br/>nd in rice i would suggest u to go for Kabsa than Mandi rice.<br/><br/>nd dnt frget to ask ur Hummus and Thoum :D

Best dish: Musakal Kebabs<br/><br/>Other than the fact that you won't understand shit about what's in the menu, its a nice place for Kebabs.<br/>We went on a Sunday at lunch time. Decent food. The kebab platter was extraordinary considering the portion and the taste, but the kitchen to table time ruined the experience to some extent.<br/><br/>Please do not order vegetarian food here. Everything vegetarian looks like a salad.

One of the best Mediterranean food I have ever had.. The taste is just amazing. Awesome food. Awesome ambience. Really good place. But it's a little bit pricey. But worth the taste. And the service is bad, sometimes they don't care about the customers. But full marks for taste and ambience.
PileDriverFoodie
They don't care for the customer anymore.. Whatsoever.. Since re opening on this location, very sad to see a possible legend for Shawarma.. Going the opp way literally... <br/>One instance gave me a bad stomach.. And the one after, broke my faith in the taste...

This place was a detour of my visit to the commercial street. It was suggested by one of my friend living nearby. And I must admit, it was definitely worth. A pleasant change to my usual North-Indian food loving appetite. The place has a good ambience and offers nice chicken salads n starters. How I wish it to be near my locality.<br/>

Every place which serves falafel, cous cousin and Shavarma is not a not a Arabic place. Its a small joint with a n uncomfortable seating. Very pedestrian. Nothing much to mention.

Visited Randomly with a friend for a Lunch.. Found this place near Mangalore Pearl and was quiet decent by interiors all made in UAE Style...<br/><br/>When we looked at Menu at first instance every terminology looked new for us and found difficult to order..<br/><br/>We order few FALAFEL Plate was quite good as VEGGIE, RIZ MA Zaffran Bland Flavored Rice was served and was no taste good as such... Even when it was accomplished with BAMIYA-OKRA didn't make any justice to the food... Overall nothing good for Veggie's is my opinion.<br/><br/>Well for Non-Veggie's ppl should let us know more about taste and flavor's..<br/><br/>All the best

We have been here several times and we're never disappointed. We took friends there to celebrate a birthday.<br/>The reception was warm with the owner himself there. We sat at the lower seating to enjoy the ambience.<br/>We did a mix of chicken, sheekh kababs and fatoush. The owner on realising we were looking at something different threw in a mutton pepper which was amazing. The other dishes were also good. For mains we order an Arabic Biryani which was good. The meat was very succulent.<br/><br/>The surprise at the end was a cake which came from the owner for my friend to celebrate his birthday. This was a great gesture.<br/><br/>Will come here again as I am always welcome....and the food is good.

If there is a place that has gone to seed its Zaks. The rating rides on the shoulder of its upkeep-just too bad??<br/><br/>Heard and read so much of the food that decided to give Food a chance.<br/><br/>Greeted by Muna who was so docile and plaint that one was worried whether he knew his beans, but he surprised us by his knowledge of the entire menu. Well mannered and gentle describes him.<br/><br/>The kitchen is open and one could spot two youngs "Cooks" (with first show of teenage beard) sweating it out dishing out the fare. There were two couples before us and the place got filled up as we were leaving-3.45 pm???<br/><br/>Asked for a Fatoush salad to start the lunch-it was supposed to be a salad with  cucumber, tomatoes, radish, different colored capsicums all finely diced and tossed with fried flat bread-crotons. The dish only had cucumber, tomatoes and diced onions and it was definitely not bread crotons but "Nipput" fried maida preparation?? This gave a mighty crunch but some pieces were hard. A squeeze of lime would have done the trick and  a dash of Olive oilwould have raised the dish.<br/><br/>Kabsa -A mixed rice with either vegetables or meats -we went for the chicken. It was actually a nice "biryani" that was served. the rice was long grained and aromatic and chicken cooked well-will give it a 3.5/5<br/><br/>Salona Laham (Zaks menu shows it as Lahme?)-Lamb stew -the one served at Zaks had tomatoes as the main ingredient but the spices spared it from being sweet. It had a sprig of Mint. It was no where near the recipe of the actual Salona Laham but what ever they served was good-liked it.<br/><br/>Kubus was soft and nice.<br/><br/>What got our goat was the way the place was kept. we noticed that two chairs, closer to the kitchen, had a once white towel draped on them, on which the staff wiped their hands when ever they passed by. See the pics attached<br/><br/>Cost wise very reasonable.

Zak's is an old haunt in a decrepit building on Coles Road, and bears revisiting. However today,  memories and taste have both washed it away. We used to park outside or takeaway the classic shawarma roll with pickled vegetables . Smooth creamy and tangy, hot off the barbecue. Loved it. <br/>Sometimes we went in, and in the smoky staleness of the place, the wafts of kebabs, kokum juice and mint tea, it all came together. We moved away, but still thought of it. <br/>Went back after 3 years today for an impulse late lunch, with the crunchy , hummus creaminess of the shawarma in our taste bud memory.  But Zak's shifted to a swankier new building, sunny floor but still with the same recycled , reused furniture feel. Nah, I think we will pass. Let memories stay, associated as they are with more carefree times, less sophisticated tastebuds, a smaller waist. <br/>The chicken shorba arrived with an inch, I kid you not, of chicken fat/oil. I admit that once removed, it was quite tasty. The mint lemon soda looked like a forest had exploded in the glass with green bubbles weakly sputtering on the surface. The falafel hummus was okay, the pita bread so so. The shawarma rolls came along looking good, but fighting and flailing  with an experience and recall of a few years ago. It could have been straw, and there weren't even any pickled chillies or vegetables to perk it up. To its credit, it was neither good nor bad, just mediocre and unmemorable.  And the last bit was harder to take.<br/>The meal was only about RS 680 , but the wiping out of revisiting a piece of our past, 'our special grungy hangout' - sadly, priceless.

An unexpected surprise, finally I have found what I have been looking for! Authentic Middle-Eastern food, great ambience and very friendly service, a lunch to remember and a place to recommend! <br/><br/>To start with, a refreshing red lentil soup served with lemon, followed by a plate of mouth-watering, golden falafels, light and crisp and delicious, so far the best I have tasted in Bangalore. Not to mention that by seeing our struggle to identify and select the dishes we wanted from the menu, the host kindly requested us to let him make the choice for us, and it was an excellent choice indeed! Afghani chicken kebabs, mildly spiced, so crisp and yet so moist and yummy, served with mint sauce and khubz (pita bread) as well as a fattoush salad with hummus dressing that all came together so nicely as a pita pocket. To continue, a vegetable and a chicken biryani as we'd call it, but in fact two lovely portions of zaffran rice, a speciality of Zaks, served with a yoghurt-cucumber dip and a fresh salad with mint leaves in it: what a beautiful composition and how light and fluffy the rice, moist and lightly spiced, and how delicious!..just couldn't have enough of it! To finish the meal, a delicious kunafa served in a very cheffy way, so fresh, hot, golden and crisp!<br/><br/>A meal as if from the Arabian Nights and just can't wait to taste their baklavas the next time I eat there!

I have been eating mushkkal from past 12 years and it's the best dish ever to share and eat with friends. Also the mutton soup is the best here. Zaki uncle hats off to you for delivering such an amazing dish.
