Review Cibo Esca - Bengaluru

I like this place! I have been here two or three times. Best place to hang out with buddies, dim lighting and a cold beer with sports and stuffs running on the screen, what else you need. They have a open terrace setting as well where you can smoke and booze. The only draw back is on price tag for the side dishes and food items. Otherwise a good place to chill out.

Good food and beverages. I tried Veg Kung Pong Sung. Really worth trying. Delicious. Ambience ok okay. Drought beer available. Car parking available.

Roof top is very good place to sit and enjoy your beer. The quality of beer is alao good. Especially budweiser Magnum. Definitely good place to hangout

Stationed in a very good locality. Easily accessible through road and metro. Has a good ambience and a quite big screen for screening matches. One con is that you won't get everything mentioned in the menu, have to ask for alternatives. Veg starters were good.

Nice place for a drink with your friends. The ambience is good. Try Budweiser Magnum pitcher...and we had 1+ 1 offers that day. Beer was very good. Nachos was also good and the quantity is good. service was bit slow and they need to work on it. Prices reasonable. Definately will come again with friends. Great place and location.

This place is actually better than many places around . It has a feel good ambience . . Not too noisy with clean and spacious ambience and air flowing through. . Doesn't suffocate. There's a bar and food is decent . Loved the chicken ghee roast and biryani was above average . Overall had a few drinks , mild music and friends together. What more can you ask to relax. The crowd is also decent. Overall a good experience :)

This place has caught fire last month in 1 of the two floors, 1 floor is shut off and all moved to another floor. They've stopped accepting Zomato gold since the fire incident and closed off another floor saying Renovation to cover up.<br/><br/>They have wired rules for Happy hours aswell, only 1 Pitcher per table during Happy hours, no Tower for less than 4 people.<br/><br/>Overall Cibo Esca has lost it's charm compared to good old days.<br/><br/>Zomato please update your Gold membership list.

Pathetic! The paneer tikka we ordered was burnt badly and really hard. The cashewnut rice was also made from some cheap rice while they've mentioned bhasmathi on the menu. Finally turns out that they charge you more than the price mentioned on the menu coz they have a different menu and they didn't even provide the bill for the food sighting powercut.<br/>Zomato gold is not accepted either!

This place is a example how to mess up everything and lose a loyal clientele. Staff have become unruly and food has turned pathetic. Total chaos at all tables with regards to order, billing or quality of food. Hope the management realises that it can turn this place into a awesome place in this part of Bangalore.<br/>For now it's mayhem.!

It's an okay place.. Service can be better.. It takes too longgg.. be it orders or even getting your check.. Ambience is okay.. might not go there often.. but if you're looking for a less crowded place on a Sunday evening, with no hurry to anything, this is the one

This place literally was way better than what I had expected. I thought it was a normal pub with basic food. But trust me the food here is amaaaazingg. Believe me their food is great. We had ordered chicken ghee roast and mutton biryani and both the dishes were just yummmm. Prices are also decent and not expensive.

Service: Disappointed with the service. Had to literally ask the waiter atleast 4 times to take every single order. The place was pretty empty to begin with. So them being busy was obviously not an excuse.<br/><br/>Drinks: LIITs diluted enough to only taste like Coke. When asked for the reason, the waiter, (not kidding) blamed it on the type of glass in which it was being served in. He got them in different glasses which, (surprise surprise,) tasted the same.<br/><br/>The food was decent. Otherwise, this has been a bad experience.

To begin with chilly paneer, the paneer was stale n rubbery in texture.Then we ordered egg pakoda but it was cold and tasteless. In general all the starters were tasteless and waste of time n money. We had to satiate our appetite with Palak rice which was average. Over all there is no need to visit this hotel again

I have been to this place 'n' no of times and it was very good earlier .But now it has become one loot resto bar.<br/>They increase their price as they wish on weekends and during IPL (RCB matches) ,it goes sky high. On one such day we ordered a pitcher of beer, it was completely diluted with Soda we couldn't even finish . That was a worst beer and service is all time worst .You have to beg for service literally. And food also not as tasty as it used to be .This situation I n my friends have faced many times and now we have stopped going .For Zomato offer ,they serve you half of what they actually serve(we have ordered virgin mojito it came just half).Overall I am dissatisfied and disappointed. If they improve then it's a very good place to hangout.

Setup: it's almost a sports bar on the first floor where they screen matches. Mostly the cricket match that's going on is picked up. ( Really suggest them to play some football as well)<br/><br/>What they provide : The service is very hospitable in the first floor compared to the second floor which is a nice breezy terrace. Preferable for smokers and people who'd prefer open air and the mild weather with beer.<br/>Drinks are good, mocktails are very average and the food is good.<br/><br/>Offers : Zomato offers a 2+2 on drinks here. First thing , food is not so good and worth the money ..second even after giving zomato gold offer code no server has entered the code so end of the bill they generated full bill without any discount.<br/><br/>If we ask for the same they say come again someday or drink more now itself but they are not ok to give refujd or discount . if they cannot give they should not tie up with zomato... Pathetic place. Below par service. Even after adding Zomato gold, that was not deducted in the bill. After bringing that to their notice, they added Zomato gold discount to the least priced drink in the bill without consulting us, where as we had used gold to get a different drink. I will definitely not recommend this place to be visited again. I would suggest to avoid this place when possible.

Didn’t have a pleasant experience with the staff. Made us wait for more than 30 mins to take an order even after constantly reminding the staff. Cibo Esca should not take advantage of the customers patience and politeness. Would be good if they train their staff in a more professional manner. Customer satisfaction should be your prime motive.

I think the management has forgotten that.. it's been years since the place was opened and needs some refurbishing..<br/>Sofas torn and cushions are worn out<br/>For 15tables they have two waiters(on a weekend and there was ipl today).. U can guess the response time..<br/>The AC totally doesn't work any more.. u can come here to have a free steam n sweat well..<br/>No wonder there was no crowd.<br/>This is definitely not a place that I visited earlier..

I found this after searching lot in Vijayanagar. I went with my best friends. We wanted to sit at the roof top but unfortunately it was not open. The ambience and the food was ok.<br/><br/>Nachos was so yummy here.. we liked it.. but I felt the food price was same for all, we ordered chilli chicken, panner Tikka and other staters with crispy corn. So all were same price. Didn't expect crispy corn price will be the same price of panner tikka and other staters :-D<br/><br/>We enjoyed.. had good time here.. tnx

I would have given 3 but there was water leakage right in front of my table and no one bothered to do something about that and not even arranged some other table for us or at least cleaned that up. It wen like that for around 40minutes and now there was water all around my table so I couldn't even wait for bill I just went to the counter and paid the bill. Food wasn't that good as well. We don't have much pubs around this locality so they can do a lot better to gain advantage.

It’s been a quiet nice place ... but staffing is very poor ... food are Oki oki ... still they have not updated the menu ... staff has to be well trained ...

The kitchen ran out of fries early in the evening although I must appreciate the chef for mixing a few things as per our request. Understaffed for a Saturday evening, only 1 for every 10 people, which caused delay in our order (Staff members like Reshap & Aadarsh could use more help to keep things on time).<br/><br/>Would rate it 4/5 if they can get a better control over their music and get more people to serve.

A decent pub around the Vijayanagar area. It has a rooftop without music and a pub below. A good place for college crowd. Music is just how most pubs around have.

We had ordered 2 chicken starters, both of them were undercooked. We returned one of the starters and the other starter was chewy. The cocktail was okayish.

The service was very slow. There were no cutlery given even after the food was brought to the table. Ordered for Paneer tikka and it was served cold. Hariyali sheekh kabab was hard and chewy. Chicken dum Biryani was average. Only Veg Biryani tasted good. Not a place to visit if you are going just to have food.

Giving this a 2 star although it deserved only 1. Reason being, and I was shocked at this, there are hardly any watering holes in and around Vijaynagar. This comes close to a place to be called a pub.<br/>Service was very slow. About 3 servers managing about 18 tables. Its a small place withbloud music and lousy food.

I have visited several times to Cibo Esca. Beer quality is OK. Mostly you get KF or Bud. Food quality is good. I like crispy corn and chicken lollipop. Cibo Esca was one the first sports bar to start at Chandra layout. Overall a decent place to hang around. <br/>

Wanted to try it because it was on Zomato Gold. It is One of the few pubs in the area. With the flocking of IAS aspirants from across the country to Chandra Layout, it has become a go to place here. Ample Parking is available.<br/><br/>If you're with female friends, go to the third floor which is sort of the rooftop, the crowd on the second is pretty average. Ambience is quite good, dimly lit, simple music in the background. But if you're a bunch of guys and want to watch any matches then second floor is the best. There is a separate smoking zone too.<br/><br/>Food<br/><br/>Coming to the Food, portion size was very good. The starters were excellent and above par. The green chutney worked beautifully with Tandoori Chicken. Hot and Sour Soup was delicious.<br/><br/>However, the same can't be said about the main course. The dum biryani was not dum biryani per se, more of a pulao, still the taste was about average and not very bad. Cashewnut Rice was poor and no side dish was given with it.<br/><br/>I have seen reviews about service being poor, I am not sure about it. It was my only visit and the waiter was very courteous. His name is Vishal from Assam on third floor. He is a bit slow but if you spell out the order as you want with clear and crisp instructions, he goes out of the way in providing service. This place is absolutely terrible. Please do not go here. The staff is very unprofessional and are clueless about half the things on their own menu. Ordered a whiskey sour and it was hands down the worst whiskey sour I've ever had. It was really bitter and barely seemed to have any whiskey in it. The food was bearable. I'm definitely never going to visit this place again.

A couple of weeks ago, I had been to this place on a Saturday afternoon. I was told that they have buy 1 get 1 free on beer. I called the restaurant manager and confirmed it. Traveled all the way from Padmanabhanagar to Vijayanagar as few friends in this area wanted to meet here to watch a cricket match. But once I got there I was told they do not have draught beer at all. I left the place and went elsewhere. After drinking in another place for a couple of hours, we retuned here and they were serving draught beer. <br/>It is really sad to see that they said they did not have draught beer during happy hours but started serving it after that. <br/>The management should look at this. The food and drinks were good but misleading customers and denying draught beer service during happy hours is the reason I'm rating this place 2/5.

Visited Cibo with friends over the weekend.. it had been a really long time since I went here so I didn't know about their new space on the 3rd floor ! The new space is well-lit and more spacious ! We were a group of 13 people catching up after a really long time.. we ordered the tower first.. beer is always good here ! Then ordered my favourite peanut masala ! Repeated 4 more after this ! 😋🙈 Coz it was so damn good ! The last one was a little spicy though .. we also ordered honey chilli babycorn.. it was served with a little gravy which made it super yummyyyyy ! Fries were yummier than expected ! I also had my favourite Cosmopolitan ! It was as good as ever 😍 the baby corn was too good 😍 we also ordered few other non vegetarian delicacies .. I'm a vegan so I am not gonna write about it :P<br/>It's a good place to hang out with your gang of friends ! Affordable and nice !

Absolutely pathetic. An absolutely incredibly shit place to eat at. A group of 7 of us went there to watch a football match. Half their menu was unavailable. They were out of beer glasses even though a little more than half their tables were occupied. Their beer tower was actually a slightly large pitcher. Their food smelt stale. Never going back to cibo again. I remember it used to be good a few years ago. Now it's a sad little pub in Chandra layout which should get shut soon.

Looking for a place to hang out with friends or family? This place in Vijay Nagar provides good ambience to unwind the evening. They have their own parking space which is definitely a plus. There are two floors in the restaurant that one could chose to sit. We chose the upper floor since the ambience felt better there. The service is not great. <br/>We started our order with the lemon coriander soup and a chicken Manchow soup. Lemon coriander was not upto the mark but the chicken Manchow was pretty good. The masala papad is good here. The cheese nachos here are a treat to the taste buds. The paneer starter dish was fairly good. We had a dish called patiala egg, which happens to be an amazingly tasty dish. I would recommend people to try this dish. They have good beer here as well. It's a good place to chill with friends.

Mediocre food, warm beers and unprofessional attitude and substandard hospitality.<br/>Food: Honey chilli potatoes, crispy corn and paneer tikka. Nothing extraordinary, the potatoes were soft, which was unexpected and unpleasant.<br/><br/>Beer: No draught beer was announced as we took the table. Uncle dunkel pints were alright but the kingfisher pints were warm. Now that, is a definite no. A bar ought to have cold beers.<br/><br/>Service and Attitude : Now this is where I was taken aback. We had 3 kf pints and 2 uncle dunkel but were billed for 6. On asking about it, we were confronted with a team of wait staff arguing that we had consumed more than 3 but not sure how many. After 40mins, manual changes were made to the bill and we left with a shocking and disturbing experience. No communication among the staff and no courtesy toward the customer.<br/><br/>The place has good potential, but ONLY with better staff. Restaurants cutting down on costs by hiring inexperienced and incapable staff is wrong and it will lead to many more such incidents. Kindly look into this.

Not going there again. I decided to go to this place in our own area for the for the first time with my DH. <br/>Sports bar closed. The pub area is typical. After an easy ten mins wait we'd to summon someone to attend to us. He said he needs to check for KF beer and return to us. But in vain. Ten more mins passed he never got back. On asking, the other waiter said, our would come any moment here.<br/>We waited Again until I decided to walk away from this place since the crowd which came after us finished almost half pitcher. Oh yes! Meanwhile I hear customers complaining to the waiter that they had stones in their appetizers! <br/> I'm never recommending this place to anyone. Although my husband has been visiting this place with his friends for when it had just started. He says it's not the same anymore.

This restaurant is amazing it have a separate hall for family members so you can take any female friends along with you with no worries and there is a separate smoking zone and we had some manchurian and other potato wedges if it was tasting very good and there was also drinks which were little bit in higher side but compared to other restaurants it's OK for that price.. Although food is good, the staff is really slow and unresponsive most of the time. We have to keep calling them multiple times for order. Tables are unclean and baby cockroaches live in the crack of the table slab, so we got to change table.

Used to be my favorite place where I used to hang out with friends every weekend but now a days the service is getting horrible . Yesterday went there with my friends and as mentioned the happy hours are available from 12 to 4 , , first order was taken with consideration if happy hour but when we ordered for the second time at 3 15 , the waiter denied happy hours saying it's changed to 3pm from yesterday . Hence one of the friend had access to zomato gold and he wanted to avail his 2 + 2 on drinks which was also denied stating that they don't accept zomato gold . Was completely dissapointed . When complained to zomato , didn't get any proper response . What's the use of having zomato gold ,paying for it , when the restaurants straight away denies the offer . Very dissapointed Zomato

Too loud. Too dark. Terrible service. Every single waiter runs away the minute they hear zomato gold. Very few choices in the menu and even lesser choices available among the food available in the menu. Probably my worst experience in any restaurant I've ever been to in my life.

Good ambience, great starters and loud pounding music. If you're in the mood for some energetic music and good food go here. If you're eyeing the rooftop, then the ambience is still good and tranquil.

Food quality was good with a munching taste. However, I did not visit the restaurant as I ordered online. Maybe, next time I'll visit and can experience the ambience.

One of the only pubs in vijayanagar, with a excellent ambience, drinks are pure without any adulteration... Perfect place for a date with your loved one.

A go to place to enjoy plenty of beers and the Atmosphere is electrifying when cricket matches are on. However, the service can be much better in terms of cleanliness and timely service. The rooftop is forbidden for lounge goers and can only be accessed by the ones throwing a party up there. You'll feel disappointed with the amount of food in your plate served despite paying the premium price. Maybe the tactics of business. Give plenty of offers on the drinks and recover the cost through food menu items at premium price supplied in few quantities.

I have been visiting this place from quite some time but this year they have changed the menu and trust me guys they won’t av beer on vk ends and no fries and fresh juice for mixing is like shit. I am so disappointed with there late services and bad drink. Have tot not to visit again. Pls don’t come here it’s waste.

Decent place. Food and drinks are reasonably priced. Zomato Gold is applicable here, however, staff didn't know much about it, looked confused. Experience wasn't smooth.

A very good place for small meet ups or to kill time <br/>Happy hours is the best part of this pub, where you get 1+1 on beer(be it mug, pitcher or tower).The food is not bad.Music playlist should be improved.

Have visited this place a number of times and they never fail to make us happy with their offers and food.. Its situated on two floors....one is dim lit and moreover like a pub...and the other is rooftop with screening ...<br/>Offers on drinks... Zomato gold applicable here... There is no dedicated smoking zone... Can smoke near elevators and steps... Food is good... Ambience is good...<br/>Budget friendly place and can spend good time with friends here...

Very good place in vijaynagar to hang out . The atmosphere of the place is decent nothing major to talk about.<br/>Food tasted great , we ordered crispy corn which tasted really good , haven't had this kind of crispy corn anywhere else, tomato soup wasn't good ,Pepper mushroom , chicken tikka , dal kichidi . All of these dishes had the right flavours .<br/> The Geist craft beer was available which was fresh and filled the void of missing Bira.<br/>Caution : The zomato gold was not applicable to their drinks , so basically Zomato gold does not work here .<br/>Staff: very few staff who couldn't handle the crowd and all of the dishes were served too late . <br/>

I went to this place on a Friday with 10 people booking the family room and u won't believe almost whatever u ask he says not available!! That includes even draught beer and starter's , all our plans got ruined coz of their careless Answers saying it will come only at 11 this after purposely Checking for draught while booking, better avoid if u have a big party planned it might end up ruined.

This is the second time I have been here. First I thought the place was shady. But it kind of grows on you (or it could be the alcohol). I had a similar vibe the second time as well and I dint like it much. <br/>Talking about the food - that's the best part of cibo esca. I tried chicken Tikka first which was really moist and juicy. Next was Pepper kabab, which was a bit sweet but good. I also tried cheese chicken popcorn which was pathetic. We got 6 (pieces) of those but only managed to eat half of them. It was a waste there.<br/>Liquor - almost half of the drinks were not available. And I am talking about a Sunday Evening. We had picked 5 drinks out of which only one was available. They lost a point here.<br/>Ambience is okay. Did I mention shady ? They were playing popular songs ( which were popular 5 -10 years ago). I would have enjoyed this place back in my college days though.<br/>Service - This is something they really need to work on. The waiter attending us told me that every dish would take 10 min or more. And we ended up waiting 20-25 for every food order. Also, I could see only 2 waiters and I had to waive like a million times for them to take an order ( they would see us waiving and still would not respond). Really frustrating.<br/>Overall - There are not that many places in this locality to choose from. So, go here if you have no where else to go.<br/><br/>

Pathetic quality of customer centricity demonstrated being in the food and hospitality service industry sector. Today was my third visit to this place in a month and I was denied Gold membership benefits for third time in a row! (Whoa, 3/3). The moment I mention of Zomato Gold membership, they deny serving the regular mainstream drink options and push us to order for the more expensive drinks on the menu, trying to make a quick buck off of the higher margin. Each time I have had to contact the Zomato Support team regarding their attitude, and post the confirmation from Zomato, they serve the regular drinks with the benefits. And this is a repeated behavior among the same staff members who have been there during each of my visits, which is what makes the experience miserable. Through their partnership with Zomato, their only focus seems to attract customers and then take these customers for a ride by denying the benefits on a variety of items on the menu that are applicable. <br/>Visitors, please be advised! The Gold membership avails you benefits on all Standard Cocktails, Beer Mugs, Pint Bottles and Standard Measure (30ml) of drinks. Ask for availability of your choice of drink before disclosing that you're a Gold member. <br/><br/>Apart from the Gold Membership experience, the quality of food was not too bad. Their variety of food choices is decent and the quantity seems to do justice as well. <br/><br/>The selection choices on drinks is hale too, but they often do mess up with the quality and measures of ingredients on their cocktails. At times, they are delightful and at certain other times, they are just too inconsistent and unappetizing. When cheap liquor is used in a cocktail, if the concoction isn't right, it tastes just unpalatable leaving behind a disgusting aftertaste of the cheap liquor. <br/><br/>The ambiance is nothing too fancy and does averagely well for the claims. <br/><br/>The music collection and audio quality needs a lot of improvement though. At times, they play a limited list of songs on repeat and it gets monotonous. A notice at a corner conveniently displays "No DJ Requests" (You guys too cool to accept requests from your customers' eh?) . Barely have I seen a DJ here, and music is usually played on handheld devices hooked to the audio system. <br/><br/>Service used to be shoddy until a few months ago. Recently, they have put some effort into making it better, but I would wait and observe before commenting on it too soon. <br/><br/>Pricing is perceptual as always. However, while I find them priced similar to few other similarly ranked places across the city, I feel they do not deliver that quality of overall experience. <br/><br/>Overall, if you're in this part of the town looking for a quick drink and a bite, and you're not too particular about the ambiance or the service, you could probably give it a try with a pinch of salt. This is a regular pub located on the main road of chandralayout. I went to this place with no expectations but for a surprise they serve really good food. I really really liked the food . We ordered fried corn which was really good and is a must try , the chilli paneer was good too but not that great , the diva dish of this place is the veg sizzler which is a starter , it was one of the best dishes I have had till now . This starter was perfect . It consisted of a lot of veggies boiled in a proper way and then served as a sizzler. For main course we ordered fried rice which was good too. Over all a nice experience . The staff should be more sensitive, other than it's a good place to chill :)

Ciboesca is one of the fewest pubs in vijaynagar... and they come with 1+1 offer everyday until 4pm which is the best part of the place. They also have rooftop which is pretty cool. A cool place to hangout with friends to watch their favourite sport and have fun, apart from beverages and ambiance... This place should work on the dishes for the good taste. Otherwise this a cool place.

The ambience of this place is kinda low. The rooftop is good though. The food is okay. They have good offers. The cocktails are must try here. The quantity and quality of food are worth the price. The staffs are friendly. Not a place to go if you are a group.

The ambiance tends to add a whole new sensation of relaxation and the amazing hospitality just makes you feel like home. The food is great and cooked close to perfection. Few points to improve on would be to add an insect trap on the outside and also add a dance floor for the young energetic crowd. Overall great experience.
