Review Thai House - Bengaluru

Anirban S (an1rb6n)
Just on the street under a under renovation building this was a hidden wonder. Food is Delicious, Service is Great, Food Portion is always good for 2 people. Price is extremely affordable. Taste wise I would say it's perfectly authentic. This is a must try place. I had one of the best Thai Food restaurant. I hope it stays that way.

This restaurant has a pleasant and welcoming atmosphere. The minimalist interiors are calming and provide a nice dining experience. The staff are polite and helpful. The food is exceptional. The tofu Phad Thai is amazing, it's a must try. The lemon ice tea and the chili garlic tofu were okay, I'd probably try something else next time. I'm definitely going back here! ☺️ Finding parking around here can be challenging, although valet parking is available. Edit: the rice and chicken dish i ordered was extremely spicy despite telling them not to make it that way. I requested the egg be cooked all the way through. As you can see in the picture, it was over cooked and felt like I was chewing on plastic. The tofu salad was soggy but tasted okay. I'm starting to change my mind about this place and it's not looking good. 😐

The food was great! Authentic Thai food. Missing Thailand already. Chef is very friendly. Price is reasonable. Red Ruby may be bigger in size which I personally feel it help you to get a better texture of the water chestnut inside. LOVE IT!!!

It's an OK place with respect to taste. The beef starter tasted nice. The Rice with basil, fried egg and beef was not up to the mark. Normally, the beef pieces are smaller cuts and has very distinct Thai taste. That was missing. Quantity was good. Nice ambience. Parking is an issue. No Swiggy Dineout nor Zomato Dine discount available.

Very authentic. Very real. This place is amazing. Ordered the chicken thai fried rice, tofu pad krakow, spring rolls, mango sticky rice and the water chestnuts in coconut milk. All were incredibly good. Remember to ask the chef to make the rice with jasmine rice. And if you like spicy, ask them to take it up a notch.

If you are looking for an authentic Thai dining experience, head to Thai House. Good food, great ambience. The absolute must-tries are the Grilled beef and the Basil Noodle Chicken.

This new one is really nice with good ambiance, air conditioned and spacious place. Food was really good and authentic. Pricing is fair and worth it. Serving time was also quick even on a Sunday full of other customers.

I love the menu selection. Mango Sticky rice was on point and authentically thai. I like how they sprinkled moong dal instead of white sesame seeds. It gives a salt+sweet touch. As for Spaghetti Prawn, it was excellent and wee bit spicy(manageable regardless), and the prawns tasted fresh and juicy. Visited the restaurant once again and tried the following- Tom Kha soup - such a pleasant taste, lemongrass was definitely a very good addition. Fried prawns with tamarind sauce - crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. Tamarind sauce is best suited. Finally, pineapple rice with prawns - unique fresh taste and well cooked fried rice. Loved it! Would definitely recommend the place! Hope the Abc dessert is back in stock. I would love to try it. The Thai Banana Roti, too!

Great food great service and can taste the authentic Thai flavours Recommended dishes, mango sticky rice Thai tea Fried tofu And some more which I don’t remember now The soup comes in very large quantity. So be absolutely sure about how much you want to order because we ordered the cream Hai soup and it comes with coconut milk and the quantity is very huge. The smells might be irritating for the Indian population as we Are not so used to coconut milk. The other thing was fried tofu which also was really good

Food was really good and authentic. Price is fair and worth it. Serving time was also quick. Staff and chef are very friendly too. Overall Great experience, MUST TRY.

We have recently visited the restaurant located at Indiranagar. They have a wide selection of menu dedicated to thai cuisine. We have tried thai curry, sticky rice with chicken and jasmine rice. All of the foods are flavourful and low on spices( on a good way, as most of the places tends to put Indian spices in everything). The ambiance of the place was good and calm. Its still under construction for few things so there was a bit smell of fresh paint but i am guessing it will go away in few day. Overall a good place to visit if you are craving for thai food.
Chirag Parikh
Great ambience and food. Pad Thai could have been a little spicier. Mango sticky rice was out of this world and a must try
Abhinav Jalawadi
All the dishes we tried were wonderful, the curries are good, grilled beef is amazing, kudos to that Jasmine rice.

We visited the Thai House in indiranagar in April 2023. The place was empty when we visited and looked like it was newly renovated. The veg and non veg section of the menu are clearly marked by different coloured pages. We tried a Beef Tom kha soup, Prawn Tom yom soup, crispy fried prawns as soups and starters. The quantity of soups is great and one can be shared by 3/4 people. The soup was shared in common stoves to be shared. The prawns were big and delicious. For main course we tried the Thai chicken green curry with rice, prawn fried rice and beef in oyester sauce. The Tom kha soup is coconut milk based and was quite nice. The Tom yom soup was on the spicier side. The prawns were juicy and very tasty. The staff was very friendly and helped us a lot with deciding the food. They also taught us the basics of using a pair of chopsticks. Loved the food and the whole dining experience.

Best thai food I had ever tried ,, especially the chicken noodles was amazing

I am not sure if this is same place that was on 100ft road - asked two service staff & got different responses. Place is large .. surprisingly! , food was very good & some authentic Thai conversations from the kitchen — helped the experience. The sticky rice & mango is probably the best ever !! Even better than the what we have had in Thailand :) — must try

Lovely Thai food. I’ve been to Thailand 🇹🇭 twice and eaten all sorts of Thai Cuisine. It’s one of my big time favourite and whenever in Bangalore I crave for that taste. I recently stumbled upon Thai House after reading the reviews. Thai food was fresh and authentic. I just loved it. Gonna keep coming back to try different dishes. Must try - Pad Thai, Chicken Noodle soup, Rice with Basil beef and fried egg.
Rakshith P
A delightful blend of sweet, sour, salty, and spicy flavors. The restaurant showcased an authentic culinary experience with dishes like Pad Thai, and Green Curry. The service was prompt, and the ambiance added to the overall enjoyment. A noteworthy spot for those craving a genuine taste of Thailand.
Aparna Gogia
Tried their Thai chilli bao buns and loved every bit of it, the portion was big enough for one, can't wait to go back and try their other stuff.

Every customer is important. A customer deserves attention whether he is visiting alone. I would have been happy if I was attended and given menu on time. Rest all is great. No hard feelings.

Our go to place for Thai Food. The owner is friendly and hospitable and the Chef is great and takes good care that our food is always top notch. the Lemon Steamed fish is our favourite, along with the pad thai and the crispy fish salad.
Always look forward to going there as we are never disappointed. Try the mango sticky rice with thai mangoes for added effects at the end of your meal!

I have been here many times. But just tried to write a food review today.
My favorite food is prawn wonton soup. I order every time when I come to Thaihouse. And another menu that I recommend is Pad Thai prawn and chicken noodle soup.
Thank you.
Khob khun kha.

A perfect place for Thai cuisine lovers. They serve delicious authentic Thai food. We tried their Mango and Papaya salad with crispy fish , Thai Green Curry and Beef Fried Rice . All the dishes were super delicious . The slight tangy Mango and Papaya salad was lip smacking . And off course Thai Green Curry served with sticky rice was completely satiating . Service is prompt and food is super yummy .

Probably the most authentic Thai cuisine in town, being a Thai and having been to several Thai restaurants in Bangalore, Thai House is the best to visit for authentic Thai cuisine within the budget. Though the surroundings may seem not very attractive, the food is compensate it all

Situated in the heart of the city, in a tiny coop with several other shops, Thai house serves one of the best authentic Thai dishes I have ever had. Quite frankly, this place is highly underrated, considering the extremely delicious and soulful dishes prepared by this place.

This place closely resembles the streets of Thailand, with shops selling handicrafts at one side and eateries on the other, for the crowd too gave a very ethnic feel to the entire place.

We started with the mango papaya salad with crispy fish as appetizers. A treat for the tongue! The flavourful juices of vinegar and the essence ethnic dried fish was something that you'll rarely come across. Also the nutty flavour added perfection to this delight.

Next, we had the flagship dish of the place: Thai Green curry chicken with a side of sticky rice. Again, immensely satisfied! Little pieces of thai aubergine and red chilli with the curry enhanced the authenticity of this dish. A creamy gravy over the sticky rice was a perfect meal.

Finally, we had the burnt fried rice with beef. This one is quite salivating as well.Proportions were quite fulfilling.

In deserts we had the mango rice, and this just made my day. Rice dipped with coconut syrup with raw mango will be a sense of nostalgia. The freshness of this dessert with the sweetening component being provided by the fruits is beautiful. A rewarding end to a rewarding meal.

The only lacunae is the ambience of this place, which is quite dimly lit and the location of this place in a corner somewhere away from the road makes it less known to the populace.

I recommend this hidden gem to all, for a fresh touch to their taste buds

The stars are only for the the food as there is not much of an ambience to write about. The food is excellent and the service is quick and efficient. We ordered the Tom yum soup, Thai basil prawns, Thai chicken steamed Dumplings to start with and all of them were spot on and tasty. For the mains we had the red prawn thai curry which was fantabulous. The mango and sticky rice to end the meal was just the right choice.
A much visit for Thai food enthusiasts.
Violla D'Souza
This place is an hidden gem. Looks too small but serves delicious food. We ordered Pad thai, sweet and spicy papaya salad, Thai basil seafood and rice, black bean seafood and ABC, which is more or less shaved ice. Never had Pad thai, but it was delicious though it did seem a little overcooked. Papaya salad was yum. And the black bean starter was a little sweet for our taste. The Thai basil seafood and rice was a revelation and would go back just for it. 😍 ABC, the dessert, was refreshing and a wonderful end to meal. Loved this place.
Natraj Srinivas
Best authetic thai food in bangalore, price is resonable and good quantity and quality.. They got the best seafood tom yum.. Just wish that they have better ambience.
Mavis Elma Smith
I found this place fairly recently and have been hooked since. Try the beef in chilli paste or the chicken rice. Their noodles are just great. The bubble tea is a good way to wash it all down. Inexpensive and good value for money.

Coming from mysore , I totally loved this place as it offers "at least to me " some amazing authentic thai food , and looks just like the ones on tv or any youtube channel something I love to binge watch and it tastes just like it's usually described sweet sour fresh and spicy 😋 ...But such amazing food 🍇🍏🥑🍍🍈loved it ...Will definitely visit them once again

I’m glad I ate here the portions are quite full filling and the taste was really scrumptious, the folk who were there very obliging and even though it was closing time offered to still take my order
Would definitely go back here again for sure!!
One of the best places to have Thai food in Bangalore; the ambiance is not the best, it's an 'open-air' place at the center of a dilapidated mall.
We didn't expect much, but were pleasantly surprised by the near authentic taste of all the food we ordered.
It was a perfect blend of spicy, sweet, tart and umami.
Just writing this review is making me salivate.
I regret not discovering this 'restaurant' earlier.
This place is a gem, and I had to write a review for it.

Bravo!

Ratings-
Food: 5
Ambiance: 2 ( but the food makes up for it)
Service: 4
Price: 4.5 ( very economical)

This is pad fried chicken noodles which was absolutely delicious . This place thai place quite appealed to me and since I had always wanted to try Thai food so I went in and I am really happy I did. Well , I liked the flavours of my noodles ad it had a balance of sweet and spicy . Ambience was good. I really liked here.
Uma Purushotham
This was a seafood meal. It was squid and prawns in some sweet, spicy, sour red chilly curry. The curry had too many flavours. Rice with seafood. The combination of was really good. Taste was perfect. It has a good touch of Thai. When I went it was not a crowded. Service was very quick. Within 5 mins food was served.
Taste: 4/5
Ambience: in a mall food court so not that great.
Value for money: 3/5

Highly underrated place. Let me tell you this place has one of the best Thai curries in the city. Super authentic. Been to both their Indiranagar and Brigade Road outlets a number of times and they are consistent in quality. My recommendations are
- Thai Curry
- Pad Thai
- Thai Papaya Salad
- Raw Mango Salad with Crispy Fish
- Rice with prawn and egg

Service is quick and the food is very reasonably priced. Must Visit of you are looking for Thai food.

Bon Appetit :)

My favourite place (apart from lan Thai) in Bangalore for Thai food!!! Must try their red / green curry, papaya salad (this is a bit spicy but I love it) and their pad thai. They have chefs who are actually from Thailand and this makes a world of a difference. You won’t find such good food even at the 5star restaurants!!!
Peenaz Shahin
The place is cozy. The cuisine is a mix of tradition and modern. The food is good and is served elegantly. The service kid slow and needs improvement.
Camilla
Why did I not discover this place earlier? But I am so glad I did now! The flavours are a 100% authentic! This place is a hidden gem on Bangalore’s Brigade Road, great taste and good portions!

The food is yummy 😋 and the staff is very good and friendly to coustmers and the chef make awesome food 🍲 the place is clean and hygienic 😍

Fell in love with absolutely authentic and inexpensive Thai food at the Thai House today. I have lived in Bangkok for a short period. I am familiar with the street food there. Thai House on Brigade Rd, Bangalore conjured that same magical taste and aroma today. We (me and my wife) had ordered Tomyum prawn soup, Pad Thai seafood and Red curry chicken. We had also ordered 2 Iced Tea. Ice Roselle was really good. The total bill came to a meager ₹1240. Every dish we ordered had authentic taste and flavor. The chef was generous in using Thai spices, sauce and other ingredients. The quantity was sufficient for the two of us. I highly recommend this place to all Thai food connoisseurs.
Sonali Mirpuri
Amazing Thai food! My first experience was great. Loved the flavors and the simplicity. When I ordered food through zomato, the quantity and food was very average. I really hope that the take away quantity increases, because it was really disappointing to open a box which was half full.
Vivek
Authentic Thai made and served with passion. Everything we ordered was good. Small cafe/open deck ambience. Food takes a little time but is a must try. Definitely will go again. If you don't like spicy food, tell them in advance.
Shanti Ponappa
Unfortunately the food was too sweet and lost all the Thai flavors. The stir fried prawns with veggies was nice. The salad could have been a little less spicy. All in all, a decent meal which could have been better if the sweet and spice levels were better balanced.
Lisa
This is the first time visiting in Thai House.... It was awesome.... We ordered a papaya salad with cocle....... And the sever was friendly... Thank you so much we will be back.....

I am a Thai national . I was really happy to find Thai restaurants in brigade Road. I felt like I was in my country . It’s 100% authentic Thai food... very reasonable prices . I will tell all my friends who go to Bangalore to visit Thai house in brigade Road. Most of the people speak very good Thai .. it’s very friendly restaurant. Wish you good luck for your businesses...

Yum yummier yummiest !! People serving food from the Heart. I am a big fan of your humility and the food too
. Definitely going back very soon.
Abhishek Kumar
Well I've been asked to be polite and friendly here, so in simple words, the food I ordered was a disaster to say the least. Think twice when you order.
Celina Lim
Cute place! Love the mango and sticky rice dessert! Never miss this when I’m there!
The beef basil and sticky rice is best! I like mine a little spicy!

My friend and I stumbled upon this joint on our monthly Church Street visits. It was raining heavily so we entered 5th Avenue Mall with no intention to eat at this joint. But when the server offered us the menu, we decided to give it a shot and ordered soup, crispy tofu salad and sticky rice dessert.

Now I generally hate tofu but their crispy tofu salad was an absolute delight. I am sure I'd be definitely going back for the tofu salad and the refreshingly light soup.

Dessert- Didnt like the Sticky rice dessert but it was an interesting order considering it was alarmingly blue. I felt like I was trying into a smurf eating the dessert :P

Extra points for the extremely hospitable servers. They were very helpful and attentive.

Follow Arrey Oh Sambhar on Instagram and Zomato for delicious updates!

A small place inside 5th Avenue Mall.. but dont judge it by the looks.. they serve some amazing Thai food. Though it is pretty hot inside, but we thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Must haves include -

• Prawn thai green curry 👌👌👌👌👌
• Pad thai 👌👌👌👌
• Thai papaya salad ( spicy) 👌👌👌👌

Loved the food.. will try more items on my future visits. Service is really amicable and prompt. Pocket pinch around 1k for these dishes.

Must visit place for thai food lovers
Sowmya
Previously known as Lan Thai, this unassuming place on the ground floor of the 5th Avenue Mall on Brigade Road still serves THE BEST THAI FOOD IN TOWN. And at the most pocket friendly prices.

Try the Papaya Salad and the Red curry served with rice.
Mansoor Ahmed
The food is just Exceptional

I am from Thailand and I love this place. Their food is as close to the authentic thai food you can possibly get. Have tried a number of other restaurants to satisfy my thai food cravings, but this is the one place I keep coming back to. Tom yum is fantastic, so is rice with chicken and basil.
The prices are ok, not too cheap not too expensive.
Go here for food, not for ambience.

The service is quick. Their food is moderately spicy, and that’s how I like my food. Thai food in Thailand is usually more spicy.

All in all, the best place to have Thai food!
Kiran.kalra97
While the food is great, the packaging is horrible. The past few times, the gravy of the chicken & rice always leaks out making the dish dry & tasteless. Today the box was broken which means all the gravy from the dish had leaked out.
Rachana Krishna
great food and original thai food, only was a tad bit too spicy loved it
Franklyn Paily
An awesome place for some authentic Thai food. The cook here is a Thai lady and the taste is exact to what you get in Thailand. My go to place for Thai food cravings..
Amber
Love the food here even though the place isn’t fancy, I come here very often after coming to Bangalore, it’s reasonable and has a lot of different variety of thai food 💛🧡💛🧡 worth the try if you’re a big fan of pan Asian cuisine
Chethan Sreedharachar
Very cozy space - near and pure authentic Thai - from flavour to ambience is all Thai including Thai cook.

Also serves VEG Thai .

Having been to Thailand recently could relate the same taste and tastebuds were revoked .

One portion of soup cookware ( I mean it ) serves 6 of them easily .

Don’t miss their desert sticky rice with mango.

Portions of food served is filling and rate is reasonable .
Jude John
I had been hearing about this place for sometime now and was eager to try it out. It's an outside seating area so in terms of ambience you can't expect much. We had 4 dishes. The tom yum soup was really brilliant, bursting with flavours. Quite refreshing. The Thai chicken basil rice was good. The mango sticky rice was okay, I did not find it very appetizing but my friend found it to be okay enough. The main pointer was that all this amounted to 1200. It seemed a tad over priced to me. The soup was excellent I'll give them that but the other items were good to okay. If I go back it would be for the soup most likely 🙂

Again, no spoon & no fork. How to eat?

If you love Thai food, this is a must place to visit.
Located on 5th Avenue mall which was little difficult to locate as no one knows about that mall on brigade road but the food is very authentic and just amazing. Its a very street food ambience but that ambience suits the bangkok flavor. The service is good and we had also tried some desserts and that was also yummy.
Nathan Miranda
Totally worth the time and money loved the food taste is awesome I definitely recommend this place over if the best thai cuisine and the give 6km home delivery
Anisha Peter
They should definitely have a way to determine people's spice preference. The mushroom gravy that I received was wayyyyyy too hot!
Arshi Dutta
The only authentic place for Thai food in Bangalore. Anyone who has been to Thailand will know right away that this is the real deal #lovethaifood
Sanchi Poovaya
The pad Thai was the best I've ever had.
Rhea Rego
I can't recommend this place more.Located inside 5th Avenue Mall, the modest surroundings don't do justice to the high quality food and presentation given by this restaurant. The food is top notch. For drinks, I'd recommend Roselle juice. The drinks menu is rather small, and drinks aren't available often, but if you're lucky, this is a must-try. In case you're left wanting, there's a number of options, including the nearby juice stall, which itself offers a large variety, and Supermarket, at the entrance of the mall. The food menu is extensive, and having been here a number of times, you can't go wrong with the Phad Thai. Surprisingly, drinking water isn't easily available, which is a disappointment.

Please note that it closes at 9:30 which can be quite an inconvenience
Priya Desai
Thai red curry chicken was way too spicy, beef green curry was delicious
Nitin Noronha
I've been eating there since 2012, superb food and great service. The beef is tender and well marinated. Fish is also authentic Thai style, prawns and squid excellent. lot of variety.

I am bascially from Thailand...i was very much impressed having my lunch here. I really felt like i was in Thailand. This place provided us real thai food... i will suggest all my friends who visit bangalore to visit and have thai food. Thanks a lot for making us happy....
To whoever reading this, it's time for you to stop going to over priced restaurants serving a not-so-good Thai cuisine and charging a high price for their food just because of their fancy interiors. Thai House has one of the best Thai cuisine in town, although the establishment is not so fancy, the food and the service is amazing. Located at the heart of Brigade road, just find the time to stop by the next time you're exhausted from all the shopping or bar hopping :)
Sarah Joshi
Having just moved to Bangalore, we were craving our favorite Thai food back home... so after scouring Zomato for reviews, we settled on Thai House for a late lunch.

First, a warning: this is not a restaurant, rather a stall in what appears to be a partially abandoned shopping mall. Don’t let this deter you from eating here.

The staff was really friendly and attentive and were able to answer my questions about the menu as I have food allergies. We ended up with gluten free pad Thai and fried rice. Absolutely delicious! We will definitely be back soon.

4* because the prices for food seemed high, considering the location/situation of the restaurant.
Chamajit Lawanwong
If you guys looking for Thai taste. This place is the one, they give very nice thai foods n desserts. me and my friends been there at least once a week. Food is valuable for price.

Looks like delicious. But no spoon. How to eat?
Aditya Shenoy
Probably the most authentic Thai food in town. Their menu is similar to stuff you'd get in South East Asia - dishes with numbers and pictures. The prawn omelette and phad thai are great. Prawns in curry paste - heaven. Will go back very soon!

This restaurant was Lan Thai before and was run by a Thai lady. When the new management took over the food was bad and we stopped going there.
Recently passing by the waiter recognised me and asked to try their food now. Glad to say their food quality has really improved. Had their basil beef and Tom yum. Really yum.

very authentic

excellent food as always. been a customer for years and the quality is always the same. live their food and how authentic it is.

A pocket friendly Thai place that serves amazing curry and rice.
We come here for the basil beef chilly and rice. It's a flavour elevator and surprises you with every dish.
I come here when I'm broke and want some comfort Thai food
Samarth Kapur
The Ice Blue Pea was very dilute, there was hardly any sign of flavour in it and was mere plain water. The noodles with chicken under the mains was well prepared. There is nothing special with the ambience too. A good place to order food home if you are out of options and have a craving for Thai Food.
Deepak B
We had tge chicken tom yam soup which was delicious and chicken pad thai whuchbwas sweet and milfly spice. Price little high for the settings. Cleanliness can also improve.

Lunch – 1600hrs – Sunday

A very lazy Sunday and we were at a loss to choose our evening dining spot. Up comes Thai House at the bottom of my feed. In fact, I’m reticent to write this review as our experience was so delightful I feel almost protective of Thai House now!

Fifth Avenue mall has to be one of Bangalore’s most depressing, old and downright dismal malls the city has to offer. Venture forth all those who dare, and you shall be rewarded. Thai House sits on the ground floor in what I’ll very loosely describe as the food court. Thai House is one of two stalls available for those in search of cheap kurtis and bric-a-brac jewellery in the grime of Fifth Avenue, but oh boy is she a winner.

By far some of the most authentic Thai food this side of Bangkok. A thoroughly exhausting menu without any kind of sectioning by plate, e.g. starters/mains etc, with a huge range of dishes from the classic phad Thai to humble favourites such as papaya salad and tom yums etc.

We were at a loss as to what to order, so eventually managed to hone in on a phad Thai, a mango and snapper salad and a beautiful, large, full fried snapper with garlic, chili and ginger generously piled on top. All three dishes were so Thai in flavor, colour and texture. The snapper fish in particular was a work of art, topped with plenty of herbs and garnish. Just the right amount of spice too.

All told, Thai House is the dictionary definition of a diamond in the rough and seems to be one of Bangalore’s best kept secrets.

Food: 5/5
Ambiance: 3/5 (It’s not about the ambiance here!)
Value: (4/5)

Write to me at scottishnathan91@gmail.com

My absolute favorite, hassle free, authentic Thai food joint in the city. Somtam (extra spicy please) and Braised chicken Noodle soup all the way.

Do not get put off by the way the seating is, the food shall surely make up for it, if not impress u for a lifetime.
Namratha Karanth
Thai food tops my partner and my charts in terms of favourite cuisines. So one evening while strolling down brigade road after what seems like an era, we spotted this place!
It's located at 5th avenue, right in the heart of things on the ground floor. Very 'street food' like ambience, loved it...the fact that it's cramped actually adds to the charm, just like the places on the streets of Bangkok in a night market!
We had Tom Yum Kha (our favourite) and Chicken with rice and basil.
The Tom Yum soup was served in a pot, one portion serving two...again which is so Thai...main course was plated though...with a portion of rice and gravy...don't forget the quintessential fried egg!
I loved the soup, though it had tomatoes in it (the Indian touch) unlike the actual Tom Yum soup. The chicken and basil gravy, to me could have been more minced and more akin to it's Thai ancestry, though my partner being more tolerant, thinks it's a decent substitute.
The service is polite and cordial.
Would love to try some of the cool colourful refreshers on the menu sometime. Will definitely go back for the soup!!
Bonapettite!!

Now not very much people love the taste of thai dishes but if you are a thai lover you got to be here. They authenticity of the food along with the way they present is on point. We have been here quite a few times now but never fails to order the padthai chicken noodles. And the menu have all the pictures of the dishes which really helps!! Do give it a try.

Somehow I felt the food is not the way we expected.... not fresh...... I really had to put it to my dog.....with no choice left.
Beatrice
ambience- about 3-5 people at any one time, almost all the customers they had were thai which can only mean that the food here is authentic!
service - adequate, server speaks english, food came quickly (less than 10 mins)
food - definitely 100% authentic thai food, super close to the real thing. my boyfriend and i shared a fluffy omelette, tom yum goong, thai basil rice, fried chicken wings, butter prawns. tom yum goong came in a large bowl, was a little too milky but still packs a punch. the chicken wings were juicy and fried to perfection. so delicious! i eat a lot of thai food so trust me when i say this will not disappoint.
overall - will definitely come back again.

Situated at the centre of the mall , the place was quite empty in the evening .
Ordered the Thai pad fried noodles with chicken , which was a different dish I've had which is made of noodles. The dish has a sweetened taste to it .
Also tried the garlic paste with chicken , surprisingly had a sweet taste to it too !
A little let down by the place and the pricing .

As authentic as it can get. I have been to Thailand and can vouch for the authenticity. To add to that, the owner is Thai and I have had a Thai exchange student bring me here for lunch because of the authenticity. The food is delicious but may or may not suit the Indian palate as they have not Indianized the food at all. Their Ice Longan is the bomb in beverages.

The place is in the ground floor. Could see people stopping by to have their delicacy. So i along with my cousins stopped and ordered.
The food tastes average , the food could not be shared with others as it's not filling. So my suggestion would be to order one for yourself.
Cant judge the authenticity of the food because i haven't been to Thailand yet, but the food taste was definitely interesting. The pad thai was cooked perfectly but a little too sweet for my liking. The basil chicken however was perfectly flavoured and that hint of basil gives the whole dish a fresh taste. The prices however are a little high but worth the taste.

They've shifted their business to 3rd Cross on New BEL Road and we had a tough time finding the place, but they were very cooperative while leading us there. We ordered lemon iced teas to start off with, but let's warn you that they're very strong brews and unless you have a taste for it, you'll be emptying spoons of sugar into it like us. We ordered the ginger seafood with rice and the Phad Thai. Whether it was our ignorance, or their inability to communicate to us about the content, we're not sure, but their seafood consistent of an assorted variety of sea creatures that weren't as appetizing as they looked. We weren't able to finish our portions, because of the strong raw smells. Their menu is slightly misleading and we'd love if they would help customers choose their dishes, to avoid being unpleasantly surprised after their meal arrives. Furthermore, they accept only cash payments, giving us another reason for displeasure. Finally, we went with great expectations of traditional Thai Food, and while that might have been delivered, we were left wanting for sound advice for first-timers.

It's Thai street food, which is the best.
It's an amazing taste experience from basically an old old Mall outlet.
It's a hell of a trip for me to pick up food from here and I do it because it's just that good.

This place has me one of my favourite Thai places in bangalore for years and I felt it finally deserved a review. After my trip to Thailand, I had been craving Thai food but had failed to find authentic tasting Thai. My neighbor suggested I try this small place on the ground floor of 5th avenue. I hadn't really been inside 5th avenue before even though I'd been to Brigade Road countless of times. The 'restaurant' doesn't look like much. It's made up of a couple of tables covered by foldable umbrellas so it's tends to go unnoticed but to say the food makes up for it is an understatement. I usually order my usual Chicken and basil with rice( it comes with a friend egg but I inevitably order another egg) and this time I tried the chicken in curry sauce as well. As you can see by the pictures, not a morsel was wasted. I prefer this place over the countless other much fancier Thai restaurants that Bangalore is crowded with. I'd be happy with just this one.

Amazing, super authentic food! I loved it and would definitely go again. Friendly staff, great quality and good value for money. The quantity isn't half bad either :)

Must must must try seafood salad. Normally all d foods are good here but seafood salad is just one piece you get it only here. Trust me, it's so yummiest and luscious. This salad has all kinda seafood like 🦑 Squid, 🐙 octopus, 🍤 shrimp and more.
Ambiance is okay and so service too but worth every penny for their food.

The saying 'looks can be deceiving' holds true for this place. Located at the ground floor of a near decrepit shopping centre, nobody would believe that they serve one of the best food at brigade road. One look at their menu made me feel like eating everything they prepare! Although I have never been to thailand, this place seems like they serve authentic thai food because of all the thai places that I've tried, food here tasted quite distinct and delicious. Also the price is not that high.
Overall, if one wants to have good (thai) food, this place is a must visit.

P. S. It seems that Lan Thai has shifted to New BEL road. Still a thai restaurant exists at this place instead. When i enquired about the name, the waiter told me that they are some relative of the old people who earlier used to run the place. Quality of the food hasn't been compromised though.

Updated review:

We simply can't get enough of the food at Thai house (previously called LAN Thai). Since our last post there have been a couple of dishes added to the menu. We tried the green mango salad, spicy seafood noodle soup, braised chicken noodle soup, coconut milk chicken soup, the hainanese chicken rice, mango w/ sticky rice and the iced teas.
.
The salad is a staple feature in our order, it is much like the green papaya salad but tangier. The spicy seafood noodle soup is coconut milk based, and definitely one of our favourites on the menu, thanks to the winning flavours of lemongrass, galangal and Thai chillies. The chicken braised noodle soup on the other hand, contains tender chicken thighs, simmered in a light chicken broth prominently flavoured with galangal, light on the spices but absolutely wholesome. The popular Singaporean hainanese chicken rice comes with tender poached chicken, sticky rice, a dark soy-ginger sauce and a bowl full of that delicious fatty meat broth which is skimmed off during the poaching process. This is a must-try at Thai house as well.
.
For dessert we recommend the mango w/ sticky rice, which will suit your summer needs perfectly. We have also ordered a couple of their iced teas, which apart from the difference in colours from one drink to the other, don't have much to offer flavour wise. Regardless, Thai house still remains our top recommendation for great Thai food in Bangalore, w/o a doubt.

--------------------------------------------------------

If you've just returned from Thailand and miss the street stalls in Pattaya and Krabi that sell spicy soups and grilled sea food, say thank you to Lan Thai. Tucked inside Fifth Avenue mall on Brigade Road, this parcel of thailand, serves authentic thai food, using galangal and khaffir, among other thai ingredients.

We tried their chicken tomyum soup, longan (a fermented lychee drink), phad thai and chicken stir fried with cashews. The tomyum is definitely the best we've eaten outside of Thailand and the drink was extremely refreshing. Overall, we enjoyed each dish and strongly recommend this place to every thai food lover.

P.S. Regard for a restaurant definitely climbs up a notch, when you see the owners dining in the next table consuming the same food they served you with.
