The best south India style food. Their sweet pongal is a must have...
AJIT MATTHAN
ordered 1 special Masala Dosa + 1 Ghee Masala Dosa Both received and tasty. 3rd item ordered was Ghee Idli Sambhar 14 pcs. Not received. Instead they supplied Idli Sambhar 2 pcs. Tell them to refund the difference and not to fool me.
Balqueesbanu
They delivered stale food.. ewwwww disgusting
Arjun Nair
Ordered breakfast and found a well soaked insect in the food. Wonderful way to start the day. Think twice before ordering.
Nayanthara
I’ve ordered the mini idly and sambhar a few times. Soft idly and tasty sambhar. Classic TN style. Good stuff. Pongal is also good.
Sandhya Radhakrishnan
I ordered Mini tiffin, Pongal, masala dos, vada through Swiggy..The red chutney is spoilt and the coconut chutney was kept in the refrigerator and it was so cold- look's like yesterday's chutney..Each and every item was bad...Please don't try this place especially when you are with kids...

Such a poor quality food. People stop compromising yourselves eating in this restaurant . If you care your health choose a different one

Excellent Service.. Good Food..
Specially the Sweet Pongal..

Sorry to say the authentic South Indian Tamil Nadu taste is missing. The main reason being the entire Kitchen staff/chef are from Bihar and neighboring states. Hence cannot replicate the taste what an actual Tamil cook can. A visit to the restaurant and seeing the kitchen staff will make u understand what I exactly mean

Worst food
Worst service

Today ordered two items..
1)masala dosa
2)ghee podi thatte idli

Got only ghee podi thatte idli ..
thechennaiexpress who doesnot even know that u got paid for what u r delivering.. not doing any favour..

A much hyped place on zomato which I wouldn't recommend for others. Gave it a try for a dinner. Nothing went right in our way. Ordered a dosa, a set of poori, mushroom fried rice, veg noodles and filter coffees for three of us. Dosa was okay. Poori was oily. Chinese dishes were awful. Never ever try there. Coffees were cold. Came out with a disappointed face. Nothing much to say.

I love going to this place for some quick bites as they cook some of the most delicious south indian as well north indian dishes. I am writing this review after visiting this place at least 5 times in last one month. The palak dosa is really great and idli and vada in the morning are awesome for a breakfast. Staff is courteous. Will recommend to try once.
Unmesh111
One of the few places that serves Dosas during lunch hours so that's a huge plus.
Lots of different types of dosas & yum sambar & chutneys. Freshly fried Vadas too.
They also serve Chinese which we ordered on a whim & it was very street food tasty.
Best part is the quite exceptional service.
We pigged like crazy & the bill was < 400. Amazing value for money.

Well , amidst the various sagar's where Karnataka style south Indian breakfast is served , this one is winner by some distance , it's Tamil Nadu style breakfast joint , the dosas, idlys , specially the sambhar is best amongst all the joints I have visited in Bangalore , a winner in all ways , the place is small and average ambience but the great food compensates for it !!!!

I ordered onion uttapam and vada from this place after checking reviews here which were raving about how good the taste is for North Indian!! Swiggy gives 30 mins delivery on it too.

Honestly, yes Both the dishes were good but nothing to rave about. Taste was decent. Packaging above par. Pricing reasonable. Nothing extraordinary.
Archisha Jhunjhunwala
I have ordered in a few times from this place- really good quality and tasty south indian. I like the 14 small idlys with sambhar combination a lot.
Ramya Raja
I have not received this order but people are sending msg to pay the money

I've never been to this place for dining in but ordered through Swiggy quite a few times. Even though I'm horribly disappointed with their portion sizes, I can't help but commend the quality and taste of food.
My absolute all time favorites would be the Special Parotta. They give you two small Kerala Parottas with the most amazing vegetable stew ever. Even the coconut chutney tastes good. The masala dosa is the smallest I've ever had from any restaurant but the taste gives away the perfect fermentation of the batter. Pongal here comes sans any color but with the sambhar and pickle. Mix it all up and you'd have a concoction of comfort food.

I also love the Filter Coffee they serve. It's extremely thick and not too sweet, just the way I like it.

I hope they work on their portions and everything would be perfect!

The 3 stars you see here are just for the food. The food’s delicious, and is all vegetarian.

Located on Indiranagar Double Road just after the ESI Hospital signal, blink and you might miss Chennai Express. It’s a small place amidst other shops, with little or no parking at most times. No ambience too.

The process is simple. Pay at the counter, give the kitchen staff the receipt and get your food. There are a few tables around for those who want to dine in, but I’m guessing Chennai Express is more popular for takeaway and delivery.

On the menu is a multi-cuisine mix, but what they excel at in are their South Indian items. I love the Dosas, Pooris, Uthappams and the like at Chennai Express! Even the mini idli with ghee and sambar is yummy. This food lives up to the restaurant’s namesake, with an authentic Tamil taste to the South Indian items, chutneys and sambar. I’d go as far to say that it has the best tasting South Indian/Chennai style food for breakfast and snack time.

The evening brings its share of traffic chaos, mosquitoes and noise from the bar across the road. So I would recommend takeaway, or online ordering. You won’t regret it, taste wise.
Pallavi
Best sambar idly!
Being a chennai person and staying in Banglore one thing you miss the most is sambar .Craving for the sambar idly TamilNadu style go for it!
Narayana Krishna
Had been here for a late dinner. It was a normal Tiffen restaurant where there were only limited items available. Had Sambar Idly and Podi Dosa. Idly was not hot understandably as I had gone quite late, but the taste of Sambar was quite nice it was so on par with the south Indian traditional taste.

Next, I had ordered a Podi dosa, which was also quite average but chutney was quite good.

You cannot expect much from the ambience as it is just a normal Tiffen hotel and one thing I had noticed that the management could have given some more importance to the ambience as it would have been really nice.

Overall if anyone wants to have a quick breakfast or light south Indian dinner then they can check out here.
Aloka
I always ordered masala dosa from Chennai Express because they used to make proper thin dosas in Saravana Bhavan style but suddenly they have started making fat dosas in typical kannadiga style. Never ordering from them again.
Arun
nice food

Ordered takeaway. While the food is yum, I ordered and got billed for 2 filter coffees and only 1 was delivered. 🤷
Nishant Seth
Vada quality wasn't good and the size too was very small

Nagarjuna Yanamala
I ordered multiple items but chutteny given one packet

The Pongal I earlier ordered once, it was soft and good and fresh, today it was quite dry as if cooked long back.
Rocky
not as much I expected
Geoffrey Ravi
horrible experience when you order from them they have no respect for the customer experience they only blame the agrigators. Will never ever order from these guys again.
Rachit Kabra
Missing food items
Naveen Deshpande
Quantity was less.
Shubham Jain
Use fresh paneer, it tasted very bad.
Annapoorni
have been to this place couple of times with family and if you are dosa or vada person then this place is for you. I also liked the chutney taste. they were also selling instant food mix which is worth trying.
Shraddha Bhowad
Messed up the order. Sent 1 Vada instead of 2. Not cool. Not cool at all.

Taste wise, Adai Dosa was OK, but cold. Chettinad Idlis were fat , but not as fluffy as I read in the description of Chettinad Idlis. But, Vada was unbelievably yummy & crispy and left me wanting one more, which was a pity, because I DID order 2 Vada.

Left me disappointed so early in the morning. Never going to order from you again guys.

Suraj Sathyanarayana
Had ordered from this place on Swiggy quite a few times. Decided to go by and visit this place for breakfast.

Absolutely horrible experience. Very unhygienic place with folks holding food in their hands. Couple that with service, that doesn’t exist. Took the food personally from the serving counter. Food tasted really bad and the stewards were obnoxiously rude. Reminded 3 different people 4 times for each dish that we ordered.

Never ordering/visiting this place again. Some of the staff spoke only Tamil and took an order and nothing showed up for 20 minutes. Says he forgot and didn’t understand. Pathetic.
Sahil Kumar
One of the best South Indian restaurants in bangalore. It is not usual Idli dosa. There is a lot more to savour here, and the list is never ending.
Alka Purushotham
I have tried a couple of dishes here, of which I would say their vadas are the best. Crispy and yum!! They are again just another breakfast place in Bengaluru. With minimal ambiance and fairly good food they do a pretty good job in serving people. I wouldn't say they have the best breakfast here but they are not bad either. So go give it a try!!
Mariappan Kumar
Good for breakfast. Bit expensive for everyday dining. But definitely a good restaurant if you want authentic Tamil Nadu Veg food. Nothing to review specifically.
Anamika Nambiar
The food is bad. Zero hygiene. Will not visit the place again. Service takes forever and the staff has a dont-care attitude. You'll find better south indian places in Indira Nagar. So just don't waste your time coming here.
Sagar Rawalani
Here everything tastes very nice.
I had been many times, most of the time I take Sambhar Idly which is very very nice.
Above on that, Staff is very good, they talk very nicely.
Janani
One of the several Darshini restaurants across Bangalore that are open early in the morning!

We ordered a rava onion dosa, a masala dosa, a plain dosa, wada and coffee. While the regular rice based dosas were a disappointment, the rava onion dosa was super yummy! Coffee did not taste good.
Chhitiz Saraogi
Just don't see the ambience and all.. it's neat..it's tidy and has a great value for money. Totally worth trying if you like South Indian food. Chettinad Idly is a must try. Just melts in your mouth.
Shobhit Mathur
Love it!

I seek food with flavor, and this small restaurant in Indira Nagar is my favorite for a no frills, tasty and quick south Indian meal. Everything that I have tried here is tasty, from the regular Idli dosas and filter coffee, to podi Idli and lemon idiyappam. Recommended
Nishanth Prabhu
Just had lunch here, Meals was served with sambhar, rasam, mor kozhambu, 1 potato porial, 1 appalam, buttermilk. If you are looking for a simple Tamil nadu style meals, this is the place. Easy on your pocket -65 bucks and tastes like home food.
Also got their dosa batter. Hope it's good.

Will visit everyone I feel like have TN meals.wonder y I dint hear about this place before.
Sunitha Suresh
I ordered their idiyappam and kurma and vada curry on Swiggy one hungover morning for breakfast and it tasted simply amazing. They have other regular options like idli and dosa etc but getting idiyappam in Bangalore was quite rare.
Deepak Kumar
A very much recommended place for the ones who love Tamilian sambhar. It's a Tamil based restaurant situated on double road in Indiranagar. It's not very noticeable place and one may easily miss this, if you are walking through double road.

It's a Tamil restaurant which serve delicious Tamil breakfast and lunch. I am not a very big fan of south Indian food but this one is an exception for me. I just love their Idly, sambhar and dosa. The idly are so soft that you may want to have more and more of it. The staff are courteous and very prompt. A very clean and tidy place with some good food.

P.S.: This is the only South Indian restaurant which I visit regularly. :)
Kothandaraman Swaminathan
Another favourite place of mine. The menu is predominantly South Indian, but the taste is just unbeatable. The Palak Masala Dosa is a twist in the Dosa tales - Don't miss it for heaven's sake. Kuzhi Paniyaram is another must try here, as is the Chilli Parotta. They have the usual Chinese as well and they are equally good, but Chennai Express is better enjoyed for its Authentic South Indian items. Meals: I have ordered South Indian Meals multiple times through Swiggy. One, the service - from acknowledging my order to delivery (this part by Swiggy) has been very good. The number of items in the meals is very good as is the quality of the food and taste. Things to improve: 1. Packing (some small item or the other is missed and compensated by something else packed). 2. In spite of my specific request, vegetable is packed less. If a customer specifically wants more veggies, they should provide it (I don't mind an extra charge commensurating the portion)Overall, it's an awesome place!
Subhajit Datta
Food is awesome. Ok ambience. We Ordered mini tiffin, sambhar idli, ada dosa with vadakari, filter coffee. Sambar tastes good. Nice for Sunday brunch.
Aswini Baburaj
The go to breakfast place if you need an affordable delicious South Indian breakfast experience!!
My personal favourite are the cute tiny idli with ghee sambhar! It's a must try!! 🤤
Never been to this place but have just gotten it delivered at home. Their idlis are really soft like the ones you savour at home.

I was looking for some pocket friendly place to eat good south Indian food. I tried many all were different in their own unique way. But this place has the best dosa that I have had till now in the city! I ordered masala dosa which was for Rs55 only. They served it with little bit of sambhar and two types of coconut chutneys which were good!! It is a must try if you are looking for a place to fill up your belly with no burden on your pocket! Later we ordered mint lemon which I thought would not be good because it came out green like bitter gourd juice!! But when I tried it ..it tasted so good and for only Rs30!!
So here is my thumbs up for this small place..you will find it near Aamma's pastry shop! I give it 4/5.

Editing my review because I revisited this place for dinner..and I regretted it so much! They filled their masala dosas with uttapam toppings, it seemed they wanted to finish that topping on our dosas and it put us off. Dosas were either soggy or had so much of oil in it. Then we ordered mushroom manchurian and God!! it was mushroom pakodas fried and tossed in Chinese dressing that had only onions in it. Also the fried rice was dark with excess of soy sauce.. It was either the wrong timing or I was just lucky for the first time! This time I would give 1.5/5.
Roopa Vani
I m impressed by their homely taste of the food. Good quality with very reasonable cost. Their service also good... Ada dosa with vadacurry is just wow. Thumbs up... I also bought idly batter from them with just 50 bucks per kg its of good quality... I wish to visit again and again to this Chennai Express
Ananthapadmanabha Kurup
Tasty authentic south Indian food and polite/pleasing service. The prices aren't sky high and the quality is great. I recommend that you try it out once.

This place is quite a gem tucked away in Indiranagar. While the ambiance and service is that of a local south indian eatery, the food is quite exceptional.

The must have here is the sambar idli! Yes! The humble sambar idli! For all the people who love the "non-sweet" sambar, this will be your new Sunday haunt! Execptionally soft idlies served in a kadhai with oodles of sambar and a touch of tadka for garnish! Quite the treat. If you've finished your morning workout before getting here, then treat yourself to the Ghee Podi dosa or a vada sambar on the side. They even had a vada curry on sundays..but I dint like this too much! They even offer a variety of dosas so you can pick the one that rocks your boat! The coffee though can definitely be better.

The place is easy on your pocket! The service is curt ( I got scolded for ordering idli vada sambar and then asking for sambar idli, but they apologised later and the delicious sambar made it all better!). If you are in for non-fancy eats, definitely check this one out!
Vedang Gutgutia
Finally a place in Bangalore which serves the authentic TN sambhar! I was fed up of the sweetish Karnataka sambhar and stumbled upon this place.
It's a small outlet located close to CMH Road.
Their idlis are really good but I personally felt that the dosas were very thin and not very tasty. If they can improve their dosas, I'd give them a 4.5 next time.
Abhijit Kulkarni
The food is authentic, that much is clear. Small hole in the wall café serving very authentic and very tasty Tamil style food. If anyone has eaten in legendary places like Saravana Bhavan in Chennai, they will know what good food tastes like. And the I felt I was back in time when I tasted the idiyapam with gravy, when I used to eat the same dish in Savarana Bhavan Chennai. The sambar idli, 14 idli, ghe dosai, are are very tasty, and the sambar is a thing of beauty. I could just eat a small bowl just like that... yum. Sad thing though is, the service needs to improve. A second serving of chutney or sambar almost never shows up. The guy who takes your order is very friendly, but the moment your dish is served he doesn't really show interest in you. I like all the breakfast snacks here. The only exception is coffee, somehow they have been very inconsistent with it, and never got it right.

Sorry, Chennai Express Tried, but, a long way to go!

Ambience 2.5/5: Normal tiffin parlor with modern seating and Tamil background music
The Food: 3/5General Spice Level: 2/5 (Not as spicy as others have expressed)
VFM: 2.5/5 (One time try)

There are a lot of reviewers who have reminisced about Chennai food, but we have tasted *Authentic* Tamil food and sadly this just doesn't make the cut.

1) Idly Sambar: 2/5 -
Idly: 3.5/5 - Soft fluffy idly served piping hot immersed in sambar
Sambar: 2/5 - The good aspect is, yes, it is not sweet :), the bad aspect is that it lacks taste and spice. It was bland and just seemed as if they mixed water, sambar powder, daal and veggies.Red & White Chutney: 4/5 - White chutney had a pleasantly distinct coconut flavor, while the red chutney had a blend of onion and tomato flavor.

2) Rasam - Vada 2.5/5

Vada: 3.5/5 - Vada was crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and tasty overall.
Rasam: 2/5 - Rasam was sour and tangy but not spicy at all. Even though the dishes were acceptable, their combination was not satisfactory.
3) Chilly Idly - 1/5 - Old oil was used! The dish reeked of over used oil smell. When checked with the management , they clarified they use new oil everyday, but the dish smell and taste weren't convincing.

4) Special Masala Dosa - 4/5 - They used an unconventional red colored filling along with the traditional potato masala. The new masala added flavor and tangy spice, while the usual masala itself was tasty, and not just an ordinary mash of potato and onion. This would be unique dish, worth trying instead of their lack luster idly sambar.

5) Coffee: 3.5/5 - The strength of the coffee was equally matched by sugar content.

6) Mint Lemon: 2.5/5 - Lemon balance was good, but mint was over powering. It had too much of leafy taste.

P.S: Management was very friendly and they replaced our chilly idly, with recommended special masala dosa.
Kishan
Typical Tamil Nadu style small restaurant.. ordered idiyappam today..They had given a piece of idiyappam with some kind of coconut milk..They charged 90rs..For a piece of idiyappam!! Are you crazy! Even the big restaurants won't charge this much for single piece ..tastewise no complaint..But quantity wise it's not at all worth

Why is that no one talks about places like these. This is a wonderful little outlet dishing out some classic Tamilian breakfast and lunch items.

I was ravenous after a Sunday run and looking for a south indian breakfast place when this restaurant showed up on Zomato. It took a while to locate this place on Double Road. Though on the main road, a landmark to remember would be Amma's Pastries.

Having lived a major part of my life in Chennai, a place like The Chennai Express is a special find and I was keen to find out if their food lived up to the name.
The ambience is simple, clean with friendly staff especially the gentleman attending to our table.

We ordered for a plate of 14 Idly and Masala Dosa. The 14 idly's were amazingly soft and they melted in the mouth. Coming to the sambhar, I longed to have Tamilian sambhar and this place answered my prayers. The dosa looked the usual, but again it was so soft. The batter they use is something very different and definitely prepared in house. My idly's disappeared and I ordered for another plate of 14 idly's, it was that good.
We tried their hot lemon tea which was okay.

A special VFM find in Indira Nagar who has found a loyal customer in me!
Sidharth Mohan
Authentic Tamil breakfast. Great taste. Easy on the wallet. Looking to avoid the sweet Karnataka sambar? Look no further. I especially love the podi dosa.
Thejeswi Raghavendran
One of the best restaurant in Bangalore that serves authentic Madarasi food. We have a widespread menu ranging from idli, sambar vada, vada curry to a variety of Dosa's. Their meals is just average with an extraordinary Rasam. Every tiffin variety here tastes very good. Specially their adai avial and lemon seva is excellent. They could really work on their speed of service, though they claim to give you the end product with no compromise on taste and quality which they really do. Be prepared to crave for the food when you go there real hungry

A must visit place for every guy and girl who misses chennai and itzzz food.

I am not giving a rating of 5 for two reason:
1. Their average meal
2. Their slow service.
Sonakshi Agarwal
This is one of those restaurants which are really pocket friendly. We were quite hungry around 3:40pm. We went to Chennai Express and had a sumptuous meal. We ordered Mini Tiffin( mini Dosa, sweet pongal, khara pongal, mini idlis, vada) and chilly idli. Everything was yummy. Best part is their sambhar is the kind I like meaning it wasn't sweet.

Only thing is I like dosa little crispier. That you can ask them. They customized chilly idli to be less spicy for us.

Ambience is normal. No AC. But it's value for money tasty food.
The waiter was quite good, would give recommendation and other staff was also aggressive.
Deepanshu Gupta
Ordered Crown dosa and idli at nyt and really it tasted lyk North Indian dosa lyk in bikaner or haldiram. Though dosa they delivered ws not hot but still tasty. Sambhar was also yummy.
Sakhi Ravoor Diaries
I love their chutneys especially their Tomato chutney. I love their thin sour dosas and the filling they use in the dosas. Either it is masala or any other stuffing and nicely roasted, roasted paper dosas, Vadai,
I have tried their Masal dosa, Paper, Paper plain and Utappams, Idlis, Vadai, and chilli idli, Kheema Idli Pongals. everything is good and tasty. Must try breakfast joint. Pocket friendly and great in taste.

Food is good and cheap . But with it comes cheap service and is very bad. The guys only serve people who they want to be expecting a tip. Despite signalling them to help they asked us to go and get things done. While he was busy serving others.
Ashwath Manimudi
A place for good tam food. If you are sick of the ubiquitous sweet tasting sambhar, look no further. The restaurant also offers a good variety of good ol' dosas. You can also get your orders to go. The service is satisfactory.
Recommended dishes: 14 idly with sambhar, palak dosa,
Ananth
Average food. Tried dosa and idli on a Sunday morning. Slow service. No proper restroom. Waiter used dirty smelly cloth to clean table. He used the same hand to pack my parcel. Zero hygiene.

Such a nice location but the restaurant is a mess.
SandeepKoundinya
It was a first visit to this place, Ordered Mini Tiffins so that we get a chance to taste all of their major offerings and it turned out to be one good experience.
Filter coffee was also good.
Staff was courteous to ask how was the food taste, which rarely happens in small food chain
Overall it was good experience
Anshuman
Awesome food at affordable price.
All the items are good. Super place to have breakfast.
Their 14 Idlys is too good. A pinch of ghee takes it to a different level.
If your office is nearby, this is one of the best place to have breakfast
Madhu Suden
LUNCH IS JUST TASTY AS IN CHENNAI.
I visited this hotel almost 4 months back, the taste or condition was pathetic. It was just to die. Last to last week, went to this restaurant just because their neighbour restaurant was full. No other go, was very hungry, thought quickly have something. Awesome, for just Rs 60.00 the lunch is sumptuous. The sambar and thuvayal is exceptional. Rice bowl is less, but other items you can always ask for it. The hotel owner Mr. Sathyanarayan belongs to Chennai and has his hotel in Mogappair. Nice person. Have given about lacking issues at the restaurant and immediately it was attended to. If properly managed with the working staff, it would be apt place to take away other restaurants nearby.

i was taken back to my childhood in the gulf with the first sniff of this lovely Tamil food. I incidentally found it on swiggy couple of days ago and can't get enough of my plain dosa breakfast with that rich garlicky chutney and sambhar. it's reasonable and tasty. I only wish I found it earlier
Keko Chevvy
Day by day.,.,, the taste and quality of the food is getting worst.
They become money minded and keep adding price lowering the quality they offered during the start up period.
Pramod
Some places capture your heart so much that you keep thinking that you definitely want to come back and try some thing else. I got breakfast parcel from Chennai express for me and my better half today. I ordered the regular idly, vada, plain uthappam and Pongal. The vada and Pongal was mind blowing. Vada was hot and crisp and the Pongal was authentic Chennai version. Idly and uthappam were good too and I kept saying to myself that I need to come back and dine in sometime later. A great place for repeat visits.
Food 5/5
Service 4/5
Ambience 3/5
Cost 4/5

Brilliant southindian breakfast! The sambhar and idli is really good. Our new fav breakfast destination. ( Order via Swiggy app of course. )

Nice and decent place to have a budget meal...
Taste is good and cleanliness is maintained ..
Recommend people to this restaurant...
Enjoy ur meal
Pal_Foodie
Went here for masala dosas and bisi bele baath. Very tasty dosas and chutney and sambhar were very mouthwatering. Prices of various items on the menu is very good and their menu is mainly south indian focussed. Good place in Indira Nagar for Tamil Nadu taste.
Manish Parihar
Decent place for lunch and breakfast. Completely home made food.can visit regularly.cost is also reasonable.Quality and quantity of foods is good.
Ajay Warrier
Very Good! The freshness of a really well made sambhar, fresh Idly... Not very oily Vada... That's a great start to my morning.
I liked the sambhar idly, Sambhar Vada and the vada with Chutney....will try again to see if this remains consistent...
Abhi Muktheeswarar
Everything tastes dull. But on the positive side it's great value for money. , .

I was on search for typical tamil sambar n chutneys... Few months back I found this place while passing by double road. The awesome taste of their sambar n chutneys force me to drag in to this place for the Break fast. Love their dosas n idlys. They really lacking the man power to improve their service.even the management says they have shortage of man power which force me to wait long time to get my orders. Even though we had a problem with service I will give one more try on the delicious dosas.
Rajkiran Sattigeri
Good ambience.... Great and tasty food... The Southern blend can be felt..!!
Food served is very healthy and hygenic... unlike many other restaurants..
Good place if you wanna catch up for an evening coffee!!
Tip: Do not dare to try chinese dishes!
Sunitha Pai
The rating is a surprise. The food is not good and the service middling. Even the staple idli dosa is not good. The masala dosa was lifeless, tasteless and undercooked. The Pongal was a strange colour and taste. I find chennai idlis white pasty with no taste of the grainy rice almost like sannas but when it is hot and soft and the chutneys are good, it's a good eat. But here even Idlis were not up to the mark, same with sambhar. And the coffee was sugary with no taste of coffee. Place is clean enough. My review based on more than two outings.
Mohan
This place was really serving authentic South Indian food initially when they started. But I should admit now as they gained the local market am afraid they lost the quality of their food. Use to be a regular once upon a time but now I should admit they have lost their quality. Today I just took plain Dosa. Dosa was nice but the chutney they gave with it wasn't fresh. The coconut chutney was cold and tasted sour. Can easily make out it was yesterday 's which was preserved in freezer. Once my appetite took a toss earlier and I stopped having it. After a while I tried today and it's a great disappointment. When said about the quality there was no response from the management. Very poor quality.
Srividhya Dhandapani
very drastic behavioure of the lady cashier asking change with me and without asking me cancel the order and simply standing and coffeee is very bad here .paniyaram is nt good . rate is very high .
Anupam Sehgal
Ordered breakfast . The chetinaad idlis were amazing & the vadas were not bad . The chutney & Sambhar were great too :) will order more often from here :)))
Chirag0912
Visited this place after reading the reviews here but food is strictly average, the idli which was too tough, red chutney was quite bland, coffee was disappointing. There are a lot of better places around!
Bhavathi Ananth
Best Dosa ever had. So yummy so crispy n so delicious. Best breakfast point to fill your tummy. A must try. Dosa are made so thin that thy melt in your mouth.
Go have fun with Dosa

In short,
Plain, simple and rich in flavors.
Had break fast here.
Dosa and idlis are good and with ghee sambhar vada,
it was quite a filling.
Yes, it has the taste of chennai.

Happened to have breakfast here by chance and turned out to be a more than decent experience.
Had the Ghee Masala Dosa(4/5), Rava Dosa(3/5) & Tea (4/5).. Please make sure to tell them the sugar levels in your tea\coffee otherwise you could end up with diabetes..
