A hidden gem.
Deep inside Church Street inside the Dubai Plaza complex this eatery is located amidst shopping complex.
Authentic Tibetan and Himalayan food, the taste is really nice.
There are small things that matters such as the Momos were cooked in Chicken fat instead of oil that made it taste 10x better. The Hunan Chicken was authentic and was really delicious. The service is okayish, but fast.
The place is always crowded by people from North East and it’s lovely to see a restaurant with no promotions or ads this full always doing such great business.
Great place that serves authentic Tibetan cuisine. It’s a small humble place, nothing fancy but quite authentic. Food is best had at the restaurant where it’s served steaming hot. They do have vegetarian options. Only thing is- dress in light clothing since it feels hot there due to low ventilation and while eating steaming hot food haha
What an absolutely lovely place to dine at 🌟
They have two options for non-veg: chicken & beef.
We ordered:
*Chicken laphing (very spicy)🌶️
*Steam beef momos (not spicy)
*Fried beef momos (took very long to be prepared, we had almost finished eating by then)
*Beef thenthuk dry: loved the flavour 🤤🤤🤤 but the meat could've been pre-soaked in the gravy to add more flavour to it.
* Beef Yemen noodles - spicy af, brilliant taste🥵, but it'll make you cry so bad 🌶️🌶️🌶️
It's a very old place in Bangalore in the heart of church street. They server authentic Tibetan food. It's simple, small, there's nothing fancy. The price and menu is very minimal. This restaurant is tough to find as there's no proper hoarding, try to take help of Google maps.
After long time I visited here some food test was different over all it was good
Taste of Tibet is a legendary place in Bangalore. Every college kid from generation used to visit there for good food and pricing meeting our budget. Place is exactly the same but pricing n menu items have increased.
This Place is located on 2nd floor
Location is correct & easily accessible
Staff there were very polite
Background music was soothing (Tibetan songs).
Clean place , Good Quantity, Super tasty food and Quick service .
1. We ordered Laphing Dry & Soup which were so good i'll visit here again whenever i'm in Bengaluru.
2. Veg steamed Momo were dry, not juicy at all but we dipped them in Soup & had the, tasted best.
3. Chilli Paneer & Tingmo were absolutely yum.
Overall it was my best experience of having Tibetan food in Bengaluru.
Great place to try Tibetan cuisine. The eatery is hidden amidst a shopping complex and finding it can be a little difficult but it worth checking out. The chowmein and chicken shapta is worth checking out. The prices are quite affordable as well. Not the cleanest or finest place but worth trying nonetheless.
I have been visiting Taste of Tibet since 2008 after reading an article in The Times of India. True to the article, this place has consistently been living up to expectations all through the last few decades.
Simple and classic Tibetan food and hospitality is what you can expect here. Mostly self service, their team is more than happy to assist where needed. Owners and employees are kind and welcoming.
If you love Tibetan food, this place is a definite bookmark on your map! It is located on the leftmost corner on the 2nd floor of Indo Dubai plaza. Nearest metro station is MG Road within walking distance.
Receltly I had an opportunity to visit TOT near Brigade road. The set up is very simple and the interiors give you a glimpse of Tibet. Food was very tasty. I have now developed a taste for fried momos with their exotic sauce. Fried rice was very authentic.
Nice place if you want to introduce yourself to Tibetan delicacies
